Clairvoyance getting rid of crows? I hadn't thought of that. Maybe that is a thing worth testing.

Imma send ya a private message with my ingame name, shoot me an inv.

If waiting for hatch is considered "playing the game," sure. The whole point is that I'm confused how people are getting crows by running and doing stuff, and this Mikaela got rid of hers just by running a few steps.

It looked like her clairvoyance got rid of the crows. Might be worth testing. You wanna hop on real quick for a quick custom game to test that?

im so overstimulated from buggy springtraps and every 200ms killer seems to just be slamming you through a pallet drop.

and people can't go next to let the last person have a chance to escape, everything just sucks to play survivor now.

I thought they made it so you could still try to unhook once its down to 2 ppl.

Hiding and not touching gens sometimes is the only viable thing you can do. Is someone stealthing when only one teammate is remaining and being slugged/hooked a "wrong" player?

In this particular case... maybe? I could see calling it if there was 3 gens left, but there was only 1. If she tried doing gens rather than just hoping her teammate would die faster, they both could've stood a chance. The video starts with her not near a gen, so no telling how long it lasted, but her teammate didn't go down until past the minute mark.

I guarantee you there will be some issue with the anti slugging stuff because they never seem to think of variables

The basekit unbreakable thing never made it out of PTB, so... we'll just have to wait and see.

  • The AFK crow system and go next prevention has some serious ironing out to do. There's been videos shown already of false positives for both, so bringing it up on the forums is kind of to be expected and is ENCOURAGED by the devs so they can see what's going on and fine tune things.

As far as the anti-slugging changes... we'll have to see. The devs arnt COMPLETELY stupid. They tested basekit unbreakable in the past, saw the massive amount of sabo plays then and how it became a problem for ppl who were just trying to play killer normally. I dont think they'll just throw in basekit unbreakable or something.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens. Realistically, if its anything like the anti-facecamp measures... its not going to have any real effect on your games unless you're essentially TRYING to trigger it.

A step in the right direction would be to get rid of it as it currently is, bring back the old afk system and have the new one kick in ONLY when two Survs are left, after the 2nd sacrifice is completed. I mean that's when the hiding starts because BHVR has created a dead end as end game. There is no reason that Survs should be getting afk crows with a full team or 3/4 a team, unless they are completely non moving for minutes.

You say that, but every discussion people would have about why they should be allowed to die ASAP after 1 chase, like half the comments in support would have ppl insisting they wanted to dip because their teammates weren't doing anything. It's crazy to me how common that was in THOSE threads, but how rare it is in this one.

Because he doesn't slowdown when he hits you with an axe. He speeds up and has no cooldown, unlike an M1, meaning you get very little distance.

That's a compelling argument that the AXE is strong... but how is the GRAB any better than an M1 for tunneling?

Also I dont think any of the ranged killers have a slowdown after a hit. Huntress, Trickster, Artist, Plague and Unknown dont have a successful attack cooldown on hit.

  • Feel like a step in the right direction would be to pause the point gain on anyone who's running. It would help separate someone who had to cross the map to get an unhook or something from someone who is crouching behind a bush for half the match.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3946365#Comment_3946365

He moves close to full speed with it out, is completely invisible after coming out of a door and has Undetectable for twenty seconds.

He sneaks up on you, throws the Axe, gets faster, and then grabs you. It'd be like if Legion could tag you with his power and then move at 115% in his Fatigue animation, then grab you.

The invis thing is obviously a bug, let's not pretend its apart of his power. As far as everything else... if they removed the grab and your example were to end with "and then he M1s you", would there be any difference? How is the grab itself good for tunneling?

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3946357#Comment_3946357

Projectile also seems to be affected wildly by ping. I've watched one of my friends get hit by it and I was genuinely surprised it hit, even knowing how Huntress hatchets work.

The grab is kind of busted, honestly. It is absurdly good at tunneling and since he can just TP straight back to hook (and be invisible) there's little you can do to stop him from tunneling you and getting you banned lmao

I dont really see how its any better for tunneling than anything else really. He's still has to hit someone with the axe, then get close enough for an M1. I'm i missing something?

  • Any chance your wife leaves the game running in the background while AFK alot?

  • Do you think the game can tell the difference between "going next" and a Myer's tombstone piece?

  • I got it yesterday and the timer was counting down right away. I didn't even need to be in a match, just have the game open.

  • 1000001767.jpg

    In your opinion…..

How is one not okay and the other is?

Both are frustrated players sure... but only one of them came on here to talk to fellow players and hopefully get useful advice to improve. The other just came here to scream into the void.

The first one is posing their message to other ppl to have a discussion. The other might as well just be graffiti on the wall. They said a rant to nobody and walked off.

  • @Halloulle said:

the "show stats or shut up" (be it that direct or more on the indirect side) has always somewhat confused me.

So, let's say someone isn't very good at the game, be that because they are new or just want to chill and don't care much about getting better or whatever other reason. So what? Is it alright for them to have a terrible match experience?

Shouldn't the goal be that the game has a minimum requirement in terms of balance at all skill levels so that it's enjoyable at all skill levels? — Yes, determining at what skill level someone who doesn't have a good time at all is can help identify which skill levels should be looked at to see how the game can be balanced at those levels but that is somehow never where this goes. It somehow always goes straight to "git gut". (Serious side question: How do you even "git gut" facing a specific killer when you only see them 1-3 times per 100 matches? General map knowledge and stuff gets you only so far.)

Regardless of escape/kill rate; all I can say is that playing survivor is not fun, feels unrewarding and more like you're the mole in a game of whack a mole (and I only ever put up with it these days cause it's the only game everyone in the gaming-friend-group has in common). Haven't played killer in a good while but what I recall it was more and more common to land on the extremes; stomp or be stomped. Also not particularly enjoyable.

If your trying to figure out how to counter certain killers, I'd recommend playing AS those killers. Let's you figure out exactly what they see and hear so you can use that to your advantage AGAINST them. There's plenty of things that might not be obvious facing AGAINST a specific killer that becomes apparent when you try it yourself.

Also... if your picking up a killer for the first time... try custom matches against bots. It's not a pure 1 to 1 substitution for playing against people, but it is a nice way to sort of get a feel for a character.

That's kind of out the window, at this point.

DBD hit critical mass about four years ago, and there is FAR too much information for the average person to be expected to learn.

Even I would have trouble, and I have a weird brain that lets me absorb information extremely quickly.

Definitely agree there, lol. This game is way too much for newbies to be expected to remember every perk, power, etc. I would still want ppl to come to the forums to ask for advice if they're having issues before jumping straight to calling everything OP and in need of nerfs. A newbie killer having trouble in chases should be asking for advice BEFORE insisting that all the survivors should be 5% slower or something, lol.

I've seen 2 threads earlier from ppl having trouble playing as Springtrap. One was asking for advice, and got quite abit of it...

Which sounds nice, but it is a way to silence new players and discredit their experiences.

If you're a new player and you're losing over and over... I would hope you'd be coming on here to ask for advice on getting better BEFORE insisting the other side is OP and unfair and needs to be nerfed.

If you really want statistical validation to back up the claim that Killer is easy, fine. If I must meet your exacting demands in order to be included in this discussion, I will meet them

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/1384SXIGJR44/screenshot-2025-06-18-012657.png

Keep in mind, I played from early 2018. This is probably about HALF of my total stats. Now that we've apparently established that I have the right to speak on a DISCUSSION forum, let's continue.

Killer is easier now than it should be. Survivor seems to be a grueling experience, where much of your enjoyment is beholden to the Killer feeling nice. Relying on other players' inherent goodness is never good game design.

I cannot blame people for being frustrated. AFK Crow changes, while well-intentioned, were implemented disastrously. Go Next Prevention is penalizing normal players who are getting tunneled out, and you had better BELIEVE that some Killers will start doing that on purpose.

BHVR continues to put out half-baked products year after year, and since there is absolutely zero competition, they never feel any real threat to continuing to push out unfinished and lackluster products.

For sure, the devs tend to have to follow up every update with bug fixes and the like. Haven't played a whole lot of survivor today to see any issue with the crows myself, but if its as finicky as people have been saying, then I would expect tweeks. My brother was already ranting about the new sound issue to me before I was seeing it here on the forums. Considering how crippling of a bug that can be and how often Springtrap is likely to be played... a break from DBD might be a good idea.

Wasn't really talking about the player stats for bug discussion and such, rather in reply to when ppl start going off about how the other side is OP and needs nerfs. Especially from a brand new account made today. Playing both sides offers alot of insight and now we have a nifty way of filtering ppl who play both sides and people who just cry for nerfs for the OTHER side because they just lost a match.

Your talking out the side of your neck, im confused. Do i need to be an expert to have an opinion? No i need to have individual thoughts unique to my perspective. You shouldnt need to see my stats to discuss the imbalance of the game. Almost everyone who has commented has not discussed that, all anyone wants is to see my stats.

You dont need to be an EXPERT, but your opinions should be informed if you want to be taken seriously. I think I've provided 2 pretty good examples of what I meant. 43 games as Ghostface doesn't make me an EXPERT, but definitely allowed my MMR to settle and if I claimed he was too easy to win as... the numbers would back that up. If I made the same claim with Cenobite with my 1 match on record on the other hand...

And of course if I claimed something is too easy and should be nerfed while I myself have losing stats using it, it really doesn't show a good picture, lol.

    1000001766.jpg

I suck at Unknown and haven't put in any time into him to get use to his power. If I claimed he was easy to 4k with and should be nerfed... my own stats would show I was talking out my ass.

  • @Garboface said:

Generally, kill rate is indicative of tunneling clueless survivors successfully.

It's also not the only stat being tracked.

    1000001765.jpg

If I was to demand Cenobite nerfs because he's super easy to 4k on, and my stats showed THIS... would you take me seriously? 1 match playing as him clearly makes me a balancing expert, lol.

"Been on this game since 2016, playing a survivor is so brutal and playing a killer is so easy."

Did you read the post? Just becuase i pointed out the multiple impacts the survivors can do to the killer doesnt mean im a bad killer, the contrary a 4k is possible in every match. 2 easy

Im pointing to the issue of the IMBALANCE.

So... you're saying you play killer and survivor, you do really good on killer but constant losses as survivor. You dont see why a screenshot might be a good indicator?

If I was trying to be honest with people and claim Ghostface is overpowered and needs nerfs or something, I could SAY I 4k with him all the time, or I could show it.

    1000001764.jpg

This would do well to show an objective person pointing out that something is over performing rather than just someone salty over being beat by a Ghostface.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3944476#Comment_3944476

You don't need to play as someone to see they are OP.

I'm kind of with OP, I don't like how they've presented the arguement, but they are correct.

I'm saying if you're having a hard time beating survivors, you should play as survivor to see the counterplay and vice versa. Easiest way to learn how to counter something is trying it out yourself. A surprising amount of ppl make mistakes in this game simply because they dont know what the other side can and can't do. I've yanked alot of ppl out of lockers as Legion because they didn't know about killer instinct.

  • @Matukas said:

The crows honestly seem more forgiving on live than they were on the PTB, despite the text of the patch notes being (I think?) the same as it was on the PTB notes.

    1. They do not deactivate Head On
    2. The crows now seem to perch on the locker rather than fly around it, which is somewhat less noticeable before all 3 accumulate.
    3. Killer interactions seem to remove/prevent them
    4. Being in 'chase' (as in the chase mechanic) disable them

You would need to have dropped chase and hide in the locker near someone else being chased for around 2.5 minutes before you get a single crow, which I think is a pretty generous time to make a Head On play. I do still sympathize with the sentiment that the system IS overly punishing to stealth play.

The scenario I specifically have in mind is stealthing out a Corrupt Intervention for two minutes, which would give everyone crows. But as a Head On main I think this is honestly a far fairer system than the first iteration we had on the PTB, I just don't understand why the changes appear to be undocumented…

Crows always perched on the locker if there's someone AFK in one.

This is an appeal based on authority. I dont need to prove my worth for you to understand the facts laid out in front of you. If thats the case the no one should discuss anything.

It would just be to call out those who claim playing so and so is so easy and the OTHER side needs to be nerfed... Those ppl tend to claim they do extremely well when they play it and therefore are a good judge of it being OP. I'm not trying to flex my hours played or anything, merely check if a person claiming Doctor is OP and deserves nerfs has ever played AS Doctor for example and has a high winrate with him.

  • Ppl have mostly said everything, but one biggy imo... he moves fairly fast still while holding the axe out so take your time. You move at 96% survivor speed while having the axe cocked back, and survivors are likely gonna try weaving left and right to try to dodge. Feel free to just hold itfor afew seconds.

  • Ditch the axe while moving around and you're 115. Once you get in close, you can summon the are to you which is QUITE fast.

I hope I'm wrong, but it looks like my stats are roughly from 2020 into 2022 only.

I was on a break during that time. My PC died shortly before Bubba got reworked, so about June 2020 and then I got back into it when Xeno was released which was August 2023.

    1000001761.jpg

Either way though... these numbers are literally impossible. My emblems are larger than my total matches number.

BHVR is showing stats now! If you go to the official website, there's a button in the top right that says stats, if you click on that and put in your bhvr account, it'll show you your overall stats from September 2020 to now! They actually show quite a lot. You can view your pick and escape rates for survivors and survivor perks, pick and kill rates for killers and killer perks, you can see a ton of overall stats for survivor and killer and a more specific version of those stats for your top killer and survivor. You can also see stats from your last 10 matches you played and a couple very basic general stats like "How many hours have you played of actual matches" and stuff like that. I'm actually kind of impressed with the amount we can see.

I'm kinda just taking these with a grain of salt. I've already seen my emblem stats are literally impossible and my playtime on Freddy is apparently only 3 hours, lol.

  • That's pretty normal for new chapters, especially ones that only have a new killer.

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3943858#Comment_3943858

Yeah you just know based on your own personal experience of how much time you've put into the game and certain characters that the math isn't adding up.

I thought maybe I was over estimating myself at first, even when comparing it to my official Playstation hours. But then I started seeing lots of other people say the same thing. So either we're all imagining it or the website isn't as accurate as we'd like.

Only reason this didn't surprise me is because I was use to similar time disparity in other games. Warframe for example tracks time spent, but only IN MISSION...which is a real eye opener once ppl realize just how much time they spend mindlessly jumping around on their ship or staring at chat, tweeking their builds, decorating things...

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3943779#Comment_3943779

I'm well aware of that, but it still doesn't add up. Even if I took 10-15 minute breaks in between games (I don't) it would still be way off the mark. I don't play the alternate game modes except to complete the challenges. I never play custom games.

These stats are off. I've seen a lot of people noticing it too.

I can't speak for you, but I know personally as I'm scrolling through the forums right now...but game is up and AFK. Leaving the game running in the background isn't abnormal for me.

The stats though definitely have some oddities though. I'm looking at my total survivor matches vs my survivor emblems for example. SOMEHOW I have more survivor emblems in 3 out of 4 categories than I have survivor matches played.

  • I'm surprised by my own success, lol. I know I suck at survivor, but APPARENTLY my escape rate is significantly above the 40% average they're aiming for.

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

The math isn't adding up. It says my global stats are only 3k hours. I know the cut off point is September 2020, but I just checked my PS5 stats and it says I have 2.6k hours. I got my PS5 at Christmas 2022. I know I played a lot more than 400 hours on my PS4 between September 2020 and Christmas 2022. I've been a regular Dbd player since 2017.

The hours on my top killer and survivor don't make sense either.

PS5 stats count any time your logged into the game. Think about anytime you've left the game running while afk at the menu screen or you've been waiting to get into a match. These official stats only count time in the match, while ALSO not counting alternate gamemodes or custom matches.

I'm a Killer main who won't be playing much springtrap until kb/m support is released, so you can count on at least 1 person playing killers like Bubba.

  • If it's getting a rangebuff, i see the batteries changes as completely fine. It means it'll kick in abit sooner, which would probably result in getting hits you would've gotten with the 7% version anyway while getting benefit in cases you mightve been abit too far away in other times.

Yes, and the worst case scenarios should be looked at. There should be some rule, that the closest generator the survivors spawn to, will always be a 1-person or 2-person generator, to remove the scenario where all 4 survivors spawn next to a 4-person generator.

Realistically though... even if 4 ppl teamed up to slam out a gen with BNPs... the best gen to do that on would be the last gen, not the first generator they see in the corner of the map.
