  • As survivor, I hate Gideons meat plant or That really small autohaven map. Just not alot you have to work with.

As killer, Either the red forest maps or Disturbed Ward from crotus asylum, both MASSIVE and hard to deal with high rank or co-ordinated survivors.

Matchmaking isnt going to be fixed. Theyre just hiding rank so people stop complaining.

Your other assessments are quite accurate, however, regardless all four of those "things" you mention, need reworks or removals, period.

I personally think keys are fine, Ebony mori should be changed, DS timer should be reduced and noed should have more of a requirement, but like i said we need to give BHVR time to work on more important issues, I'd rather they fix map sizes and god loops over keys or ds.

  • Perk:

    Switching sides:

When the trial enters the End Game Collapse you hear a familiar voice.

Captain price enters the trial and hands you LOADED REVOLVER.

The next time you encounter a survivor, you do a 360 trickshot and inflict the dying state on them.

The killer can only interact with this survivor.

If it helps you at all the perks I use most of the time are Shadowborn to make the looking down a little less obnoxious, Infectious Fright to give you information, Sloppy Butcher to give you more time, and corrupt intervention to give you more time. (I did use I'm all ears, but games go pretty fast so I switched it out.) (Also when you play as Nurse you need to constantly be in movement, usually you don't have the time to go about kicking generators, so CI is your goto perk and you need to be sufficient at locating and downing survivors.)

As far as addons go, just use double recharge addons they are a given, unless you want to miss good blinking opportunities.

    Tips/tricks;

To catch a survivor off guard you are going to have to analyze their play-style and that involves seeing if they are a double backer or a run forward gamer. Once you know this information, if they tend to keep running far off into the distance simply do longer blinks or if they tend to double back do shorter blinks, you should be able to know your blink ranges to succeed as Nurse so make sure to practice and learn the ranges.

There are a multitude of objects on the map with a variety of boxes around them, in order to phase through them sometimes you will need to put more into the blink as if you even so much as scrape that invisible box you will get a face full of obstacle and what's worse there are certain objects that just block blinks namely rocks and sanctum of wrath.

(Now there is more, I just can't remember off the top of my head.)

Is she worth it or am i better off learning another killer and having more fun straight off the bat: In all honesty, it's a waste of time to put effort into Nurse right now, as you won't be getting results for the effort you put in until you completely master her, unlike certain other killers who are pretty friendly for learning killers, but she is the opposite, you either get good enough or you keep losing there is no in between.

You're name fills me with LOTS of hope XD Thanks for the tips. I need to level her regardless so I'll see if theres any improvement if not ill play Spirit AKA Nurse 2: Electric boogaloo

  • As soon as they introduce MMR, the game will get a more reputable balanced outlook even with the longer que times, drawing back in players and allowing BHVR to work on other things. They are already making adjustments to things like larger maps, god loops and other abuse-able parts of the game on both killer and survivor sides alike. DBD is a massive game and from what i can tell suffered from too much too soon concept. With so many perks and so many characters and so many maps and so much rng and so much....etc etc, BHVR have alot of outdated or new "techs" that they need to deal with, and right now they don't have the resources to do so as well as they would like because of the pandemic.

I don't play Nurse much but I know Shadowborn is really good on her because it allows you to see better while you're in fatigue. I say swap out Thana for Shadowborn and you'll have a pretty good build.

    Hello, Nurse main here.

Check out Ardetha on YouTube. He has great, and I mean GREAT Nurse guides, they still apply to current Nurse even after her nerf.

They already rolled out a patch last year that guaranteed ranks will be playing by their color code.

It was working perfectly fine for months.

    ######### happened to it?

That was last year. Alot of controversy and survivors and killers alike being too toxic lead to a shortage of killers. The system works like others.

    1. The game will look for similar ranked players in your region, probably within 2 ranks of you up or down.
    2. If the game cannot find you a lobby with similar ranked players that are also in que (remember there are other ques)
    3. After X amount of time, the game will expand the rank requirements by a larger amount
    4. 3 will be repeated until it finds you a game

It will also slot players that just finished a game and are of higher rank and slot them with lower rank survivors to "balance the numbers".

This matchmaking is because of a lack of killers, not BHVR. Killer ques are almost instant, survivor ques take 5 minutes. Wonder why?

matchmaking was fine like 3 months ago

this horrible matchmaking been going for over 1 month

"Fine 3 months ago" but its been bad for a month? Wouldnt that mean it was fine 1 month ago? Think yo're seeing red bud.

  • It's because there are a shortage of killer players as of recently. Wether its because there was a small imbalance and the weird lobbies caused killers to quite and snowballed it or its because the game is unbalanced (no shade to BHVR, its hard to balance a competetive Asymmetrical game because if you actually gave a killer the power to consistently 1v4 without any dedicated learning then the majority of the player base ((survivors)) would not be happy about it so its a tough situation) But MMR will fix this if they do it right. Its hard to say how they are going to judge this mmr, but if i know anything about MMR (long history playing comp games like League and Rainbow six) then it will balance it out. Sure, You might have longer que times as a high rank survivor or a low rank killer, but i personally would rather wait 2 more minutes and have a fun game than go against a rank 1 swf and get obliterated, what about you?

  • @Dead_by_Gadfly said:

I just started playing with her recently myself. Shes a lot of fun once you start to get the blink ranges down. I dont have any advice since im pretty new myself except to say watch the survivors. They tend to behave differently and 1 survivor tends to use tge same trick. Example, if a survivor turns around and runs right at you when you blink, next time shorten your blink cause theyll probably do it again.

Yea thanks, also incase you weren't aware if you fully charge a blink and they run at you, just look down and you'll blink on the spot pretty much so they run right into you

  • They are better than most people make out however.

  • The generally viewed issue that makes legion a bad killer is that yes, they can injure people very quickly, but higher rank survivors know this and dont heal. So, you hit everyone, they mend, now what? You are an M1 killer. Without iridescent button, you are just as vunerable to loop trained survivors as wraith and clown which is why they are also considered low tier. Notice that all the "good" killers ,eg Nurse spirit hillbilly have ways of either avoiding loops or negating them. Nurse can blink through, spirit can phase around or mindgame, and hillbilly can VROOM VROOM and one shot down you or in worst case destroy a pallet extremely fast. Legion in this aspect doesnt have much. You hit someone, give them a burst of speed, and get fatigued for 5 w h o l e s e c o n d s. Personally I would either buff his cooldown or his cooldown addons, or give him something else in chase. One of the smaller and not really impactful issues is that thedeep wound status effect isnt really effective. It dosent go down in a chase, or even when a survivor is casually sprinting. But its just down to BHVR if they wanna buff legion or change the deep wound.

  • Just be patient friend, BHVR are working hard during these difficult times to roll out a MMR system, and they are very fickle things and need to be done right otherwise they risk screwing up matchmaking even harder. Just have faith, I know that alot of players like to just hate on BHVR for some things, and in my early dbd days i was no different, but they're trying.

  • @Fibijean said:

I don't disagree that the Emblem system is heavily flawed, but it sounds like your problem in this case was matchmaking, not emblems. Best to go for the root of the issue rather than the symptoms when making changes like this.

Plus MMR is being introduced soon so that should hopefully fix it

Yea i suppose, but theres been more posts about matchmaking than i care to count so thought i'd tackle a different subject to get people talking

  • This has happened consistently in my games and is an awful feeling. Not only are you stuck in a pallet, which as i found out does not take into account iridescent button (it just gets you stuck and dosen't break) but then you cannot see scratch marks and more likely than not lose a chase.

  • Thanks i actually play legion too lmao

I disagree that red rank is usually something to scoff at. I've seen people in red ranks playing like I'd expect a rank 18. I've thought the players that were high rank I've played with were just mismatched rank 20s, and then I get to the end game screen only to find out they're rank 1. It literally does not matter whether somebody is rank 20 or rank 1, it has no bearing on their actual skill. Sure, newer players naturally are rank 20 when they start out, and more experienced players will tend to be higher rank, but that has everything to do, again, with playtime. Not skill.

I understand if people want to say it's not fair for somebody with like 2 hours to be matched up against somebody with thousands, but honestly the only thing to do about it is to just play better. It comes with time. And just because somebody has a 1 or 2 next to their name doesn't automatically mean they're better and that you have no chance. I have screenshots of games I've wrecked rank 1s and I don't think I've ever even touched rank 1 killer myself, simply because I don't actually play enough killer to pip up to 1.

And I do agree with you though. I don't think it would be the worst change or anything, because it would be something that would give even the weaker killers a better chance, and the stronger killers probably wouldn't even need/utilize it that much anyway. I see it possibly being annoying against Forever Freddy or something, I just wanted to point out in case you hadn't thought of that: gens can easily stop being regressed with a tap.

    It wouldn't hurt though.

Oh im not saying that when i see a red rank they are actually good, im just saying that as a newer killer like myself these players usually seem to be better. But yea tapping is annoying, but if it was changed then the whole discussion would be pointless, this change is just for pressure and to like you said help killers possibly with less mobility and tapping would be a good counter.

  • @KingFrost said:

Find a way to stop camping, and then we can talk gen regression speeds being fair or not.

You add nothing to this conversation, if you want to go over the camping discussion go to another post to vent your rage over bubbas

  • @ZFennecFox said:

A good balance change would be to give a 1% debuff to repair speed for all survivors in a Swf group.

A sizeable (not massive) majority of survivor players are SWF and this would just be punishing them for playing together. However maybe a small percent debuff for each survivor hooked naturally would be a good incentive for solo survivors to play more team orientated but thats debatable.

  • @Huff said:

Survivors already just tap a gen to stop the regression the moment they see a killer walk away after kicking it. Adding more regression speed isn't going to make a huge difference as long as survivors keep making a habit of that.

Also, rank is largely meaningless. Just saying.

I know its meaningless, but red rank usually is not something to scoff at. Even when they're not AMAZING the skill difference 9/10 is noticeable. I know they usually just tap gens regardless but still, it'd be a useful change for the bigger maps that won't be changed.

  • My codes are completely self imposed and i have no issue with anyone that uses everything to win. By unfortunate design dbd is a full ranked mode and i expect the sweatiest team every game. My personal codes of honour go like this:

    Killer:

    • Never camp unless its 1 gen or EGC and you don't have a single kill. I tend to proximity camp (roam around a 10m radius) to not add insult injury, but I'm not trying to de pip,
    • Never slug unless neccesary. I've played against my fair share of slugging killers, and unless you all run unbreakable it's not fun to play against. It's boring and leaves a sour taste in your mouth especially against infinite evil myers. But, if a swf is body blocking, blocking the hook. I will do it. Or if im playing oni for example who's playstyle leans into it.
    • Only slash hooked survivors if they did something equally bm like T-bag or flashlight spam click.

I have nothing against moris or keys, allthough having 3 escape on hatch can be irritating and robbing of a well played game.

    Survior:

    • Never T-bag, especially at exit gates. Regular t bag is kinda fine because if someone tbags you in a chase, they're obviously distracting you from something. At the exit gates even after a wp gg....you do you bro. Hope you get morid first next game.
    • See first point

Interesting to see everyone's morals :)

The "crying map nerfs" is warranted though, some loops have been too strong for way too long, and some maps have been abhorrently large since they were introduced, we need to look at those and see first, they ARE an issue, how ever gen times are fine, and so is the regression.

    Your opinion

  • @Seanzu said:

Gens really don't need to be touched at all, they're perfectly fine, buff the "weaker" killers, and pray players will actually play well, the amount of just awful awful players in this game at rank one is astounding, and the majority of them think they deserve to be there (on both sides) so when they have a string of bad matches, or they play poorly, because they think they should be there they don't fault themselves for the match and instead like to say each side is op etc.

The two major issues with this game is lazy/bad players & maps.

We all know that the lazy and bad players are not going away. I feel that when this mmr system is introduced itll change a bit, personally i think that with how the ranked matchmaking is having killers like me (green rank, against red ranks) is a bit unfair but the devs are working on it, and as of this mid chapter they are also working on maps. I just experience this regression thing not as a massive issue most of the time but it is a small issue that i just thought I'd propose instead of crying nerf maps nerf this nerf that, perhaps just a small change that could ease the genrush complaints, and make the game a bit more exciting. Just my opinion.

  • @Salty_Pearl said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1253434#Comment_1253434

I can agree with that. What I hate about it the most is that simply running stops the timer even when out of a chase. Deep Wound should be scary and you should feel pressured to mend yourself quickly. The way it is now, you can take your time and feel no pressure at all.

WAIT simple holding W or L1 STOPS the mending? Even when out of a chase? If you mean outside of a terror radius aswell then yea definitely needs a change.

  • Just some more maths, most 115% killers run around the 4.5m/s mark. SO the 6 second example is worth 28m of distance, or almost a whole terror radius. Adds up don't it?

  • Well think of it this way. If "deadzones" were removed, then what could replace it? Because if you instead want a useful tile then the whole map is full of useful resources. Good loopers could both run killers for way longer with more tiles to get too, and you wouldn't have to pay attention to your position as much. I'm trying to be as understandinh as possible but if a killer breaks 9 pallets to create a deadzone, you shouldn't really ask for anything more. You ran the killer and didn't pay attention.

  • I think deep wound should only pause within 16m instead of a terror radius personally. It basically makes half of legions iridescent button useless since it makes your terror radius affect the entire map.

  • I appreciate the meme, but I've heard that hes terrible quite enough now, would just like some positive opinions to form a balanced do i don't i decision.

Yeah, but golden week is only this week and I would buy all the DLCs you can with cells, if you plan on playing for a long time

I plan on defo playing till i hit red ranks with killer (currently only a green rank, boy red rank swf can be difficult) so thats the plan, was originally only going to purchase the leatherface dlc for bbq+chilli since shrine most likely have bbq for a while, no intention of actually playing the face camping prodigy himself tho i find his playstyle linear and not much of a skill ceiling based on the leatherfaces i have faced in the past, tho the ceiling is still there. But then it occured to me that i can just buy auric and get more bang for my buck, hence im also going to get the myers dlc and potentially the pig dlc because i loved the saw movies, even if she isnt considered exactly top tier she seems fun and bear trap kills look SO satisfying once you actually get some

  • Dont mind me just casually being unaware that the golden week is for all pre chains of hate, doofus

welp thanks i guess its time to go empty my piggy bank

  • So, i start a post to propose a change for a perk that i haven't seen promoted anywhere in order to both give a fresh take and stay away from the typical noed posts and your response is to say my post is invalid?

  • @evilwithinIII said:

It shouldnt be lit up before the gens are completed because the effect isnt happening yet.

Except maybe make a dull totem in the begining of the game the Noed perk. If that specific totem is destroyed then noed deactivates after the gens are completed.

This make it happen that you dont have to destroy all the dull totems and let the element of suprise Stay.

    Good idea

noed Is fine the way it is

Ah, you must be new here.

  • Id turn gay for that jawline

  • Doc will always have insane pressure on the map and punish you for not paying attention to your skill checks, no amount of changes to wraith or whoever will change that. Some killers are just better for dealing with more skilled survivors. But you are right in the sense that some killers need changes to be seen more.

    Sad clown noises

  • @Dehitay said:

Are you implying it should be active from the start which would be way overpowered? Or it should 5 times easier to avoid which would be way underpowered? The best solution so far for NOED would be a global totem counter or a map wide dull totem cleansing audio for survivors so they can count manually.

Thats also a very good counter, an icon counter next to where the gens are

  • The totem is LIT like its active, but the effect itself doesnt take place until end game collapse if you get me
