Pig is pretty strong, except in chase. She's kind of the opposite of Clown. I'd trade a bit of lethality of those RBT's for more consistency and a better chase power.
-

They'll give you more skins that can only be bought with auric cells.
If it's Santa outfits for survivors (namely Kate) then I'm sold.
-
Pig is very swingy. Her RBT's can either provide massive slowdown, unmatched by any other killer's ability -- or it can provide next to no slowdown and is more comparable to Clown. Combine this with Red Rank Potatoes, and the fact that most people who play Pig are people very experienced with her, and you get higher kill rates. Not to mention Pig doesn't really have any amazing perks, so people aren't likely to just buy her and play her for Surveillance or Make Your Choice. (Anyone buying her for Hang Man's Trick should check into the nearest asylum).
She's a pretty basic killer, too. Her power requires you to get downs, but that's really all it requires. If you can play literally any other killer, you can probably play Pig decently. You don't have to learn anything. Her stealth is more detrimental than anything, so most people just don't use it. And her ambush is good, but it's also something you don't use very often. Her RBT is her main power, and it just requires downing someone. Then you potentially get massive slowdown. Pile on more slowdown, and Pig has a lot of time to get 3-4 Kills. (And a truly nasty pig can tunnel survivors way easier with those RBT's on their heads)
-
The problem is, if a killer camps your only real option is to do gens. You can't waste time looking for a totem while your teammate is on the hook. The killer only needs one decent chase, and then they can slug at the end for a 4K. Especially if the gates spawn close to each other. And its effectiveness (or lackthereof) doesn't matter, much like OoO's effectiveness doesn't matter. Neither may be great perks that guarantee success, but they're both not very fun to play against.
-
-More female killers. Maybe a Female Killer with pyrokinesis. (I'll take Eve from Parasite Eve if you can get her from SquareEnix)
-Give Solo Survivors more info than they currently get. Then buff killers accordingly.
-Fix the console framerates.
-Halloween Costumes for all characters. Sexy Witch for Kate plz.
-
"The escape rate with it isn't very high."
Killer sees OoO "Time to camp this guy."
Gee, I wonder why.

You’re twisting my words.
If I return to pick them up and hook them, but they’ve crawled away and I can’t find them, that’s on them.
What are they supposed to do? Just stay there and patiently wait for you to come back? If you slug someone, you risk losing them. That's not on the survivor, that's on you. Best thing a survivor can do is crawl away most of the time. Find a teammate who can heal you. Why should they just wait for you to come back?
-
"I'm not trying to make them DC, I'm just leaving them as slugs on the ground so they can't get picked up."
I mean 4 minutes on the ground isn't really much more waiting time than the 5 minute penalty.
-
My suggestion:
-Every non-dlc character gets a new cosmetic: A Halloween Costume. Maybe a witch outfit, a vampire outfit... whatever.
-On every map, there will be a number of pumpkins. Survivors and killers must bust the pumpkins to earn pumpkin points. There'll be 10 pumpkins on every map, but you can only get two pumpkin points per match.
-Each costume costs a total of 10 pumpkin points.
-Once the event is over, unearned costumes can be bought for Auric cells.
-A Haunted Mansion Map to be added to the game either as part of what will be Chapter 21 or just a standalone map.

What concerns me is that they took a really long time fixing the event cakes a few months ago.. and that effected everyone. I'm preparing to be excluded from the event at this point. Hope not. We'll see.
At the same time, the event cakes weren't detrimental to gameplay. You didn't have to use them. Sadly I don't have any because I got the PS4 version well after the event. But I still see people using them. The FPS issue is quite detrimental to the gameplay.

I first tried Dead by Daylight a little before Christmas of last year. My first game on XBOX One was a mess. I was facing higher rank players (because I was playing on my cousin's account), and I was frightened to death about what to do. I hid in a locker against a Huntress for about half the match. (Yes, I was once a Baby Dwight). Because my cousins loved the game so much, I decided to get it. Only I did't own an XBOX One. I only had a Nintendo Switch and a PS4. Ultimately, I got it for Switch because my cousin also owned a Switch and at the time crossplay wasn't an option. My cousin bought the game for Nintendo Switch, and we played together fairly often for a couple weeks.
Over time, I improved at the game and decided to buy all the DLC. Yes, every bit of it. All the way up through Pyramid Head. As rumors of Cross Progression and Crossplay came out, I decided to buy the game a second time. This time for the PS4. The performance was a massive improvement. I quickly made my way up the ranks on both sides, my experience on Switch giving me an advantage. Then crossplay came out, and I decided to once again buy every single piece of DLC. There was a sale, and I figured Cross-Progression may never come.
Since then, I've managed to earn a massive amount of Bloodpoints in the game. Enough to have unlocked every perk in the game. I even P3'd Kate, and got every single perk on her. It took me about two months of playing massive amounts of the game but I did it. I even found a nice SWF group to play with occasionally.
Unfortunately, I ran into a bit of a problem with this latest update. I was pretty excited for it. More map reworks, the Halloween event, and I don't have to worry too much about BP Gains because I don't plan to P3 any killers, and can just focus on getting them the bloodpoints. But that's when I ran into a significant issue: The game just isn't very playable in its current state on PS4. The Framerate drops too often. And I'm not one to make minor complaints about framerate drops because usually I barely notice. But in Dead by Daylight I've noticed it badly.
I've spent more money on this game than probably any other game than the Sims 4. Maybe even more than The Sims 4. I own every killer and survivor on both Switch and PS4 (except Blight + Felix on Switch, because I have not returned to the Switch since moving over to PS4 and have no plans on doing so). I've even bought a couple of cosmetics, even though I've been a bit wary of the prices. "It's supporting the devs," I tell myself. "after all, they keep working on making this game great. Even if I don't always agree with their decisions."
But this last update has been a major disappointment. Not because of the content, but because of how the game runs (or rather, how it doesn't run). It's a struggle to play in a match, and I hesitate to even try because I don't want to put my team at a disadvantage. I'm not sure the team tested this on a PS4 console before sending out the update. Maybe they tried it on a PC with PS4 specs or something like that. But the experience of playing with frame rates this bad is unpleasant to say the least.
DBD is a fantastic game, and it's obvious the devs have put a lot of effort into it. I really hope they'll work out the issues with the framerates in time for us PS4 players to participate in this event. Because it's one thing I've been looking forward to this month. The Halloween Event. I mean halloween and DBD go together like Michael Myers and Stabbing babysitters. It's a match made in the entity's realm.
I'm sure it'll take time for them to work out the issues. But I hope they are making it a priority. And hearing it from them would be nice, given how forgotten we console players can feel at times.
-
Yeah, this is making me wonder if they even test on console or if they just trot it out. Like, I get that they can't do a PTB for console. That's fine and completely understandable. But they should at least test the game on consoles themselves before going live with it. There's no way someone tested this game on PS4 and thought "This is fine." I'm sure they're working on a fix, but hopefully it won't be 2 weeks-a month before they fix it. The game is pretty much unplayable right now, even at 720. It'd be nice if they at least told us "We're aware of the issue, and are working on getting a fix ASAP."
-
My guess:
-First, to fix the issue of Discordance Tier 1 being considered better than Tier 3. (Why they made Tier 1 absolutely useless is beyond me)
-Second, the meta was becoming tinkerer/ruin/discordance/undying. They don't want to touch undying right now because Blight is still so new and they're trying to get sales. (This also seems to be why they went after Pop). Tinkerer and Ruin both received recent changes, so instead they decided to change Discordance which they had planned on doing anyway.
I feel like if they were going to do this, they probably should've tossed in a survivor nerf somewhere in there, or another Killer Buff (the only Buffs killers got were a minor buff for Cruel Limits, a minor buff for Thana, and a decent buff for Mindbreaker while Discordance and Pop got nerfed. Maybe not super hard, but again they do this while ignoring some of the biggest issues in the game. If you're going to SNEAK IN a change, then you sneak in changes to Mori's and Key's and be like "Woops, forgot to put that in the PTB. Oh well, enjoy the new moris and keys!"
-
It's incredibly bad.
I can't tell the difference between 40 fps and 60 fps because I'm practically framerate blind. But even I can see how bad it is. Loaded into a game as survivor, and the match was just awful because the framerate was THAT bad.
-
The solution is quite simple.
Hex Totems no longer lose tokens when they are cleansed if they are 'revived' by Undying
But if Undying is cleansed, any 'revived' totems become dull totems and lose their effect.
-
@BPK said:
They didn't even add a token event on healing another survivor's health state despite literally everyone asking for it on PTB Feedback, what a joke
PTB Survivors: "Please give a token for healing a survivor a health state."
PTB Killers: "I'm 100% okay with that change."
Devs: "We hear you. So we've changed Discordance."

I wouldn't really call 1 noise notification a nerf. You don't really need to be constantly reminded people are working on a gen together if you decide to ignore the information the first time it happens.
The only reason people even preferred Tier 1 to Tier 3 in the first place was... because it gave you notifications more often.
Not to mention that range is much too short. Why was this nerf necessary again? They could've fixed Keys and Moris and instead they fix what isn't broken.
-
Definitely a nerf. No longer map wide on all tiers (Tier 1 now completely useless) only one noise notification, and honestly I don't like that it persists for 8 seconds afterwards.

i do agree they need to remove perk teirs but it doesnt tak 30 hours i can do 1 in a day
It takes 15+ hours to get all perks on a character. That's assuming generous earning of BP in 7 minute matches with no queue times and full stacks of BBQ or WGLF. (Can be reduced a little if you have enough BPS)
-
Comms aren't even third party for console. On PS4 you can enter party chat and play with your friends. It's a feature of the system, not an outside party. You don't even have to download anything different. You just need the headset you bought to play Spirit.
Here's the thing, as has been said by others:
Killers need Buffs.
Solo Q needs a Buff.
But anytime it's suggested that we buff Survivors (even when we mention buffing Killers too) Killer Mains go nuts that we dare give Solo Survivors more information, even when it comes with balances that give them more power. The truth is, most killers who complain about SWF are complaining about it because they want easier games. You can't balance the game around SWF, until you buff the solo experience. That's a simple fact. Now, for those killer mains out there who agree that solo Queue needs a buff, they're probably actually interested in balance. But I don't see most of them advocating for buffs to survivor (or at least not without quickly being shut down).
-
Doesn't DBD have more players than its ever had?
-
The Billy Costume makes it look like he and Amanda have something going on.
-
Never gotten any meme responses from people. But I've given a few.
One survivor said "Nice tunnel" (admittedly, I had tunneled her. She sat on a generator, I hit her. She FINISHED the generator in the time of my cooldown, so I wanted her good and afraid. So I ate her DS, and then hung her a second time. After that, I ignored her for a bit.) So I wrote back "You too!" (She did not respond)
Another survivor after a rough game as Legion (I only got like 4 hooks, but the survivor who said it was one I hooked twice) said GGEZ. So I wrote GGEZ back. He did NOT like that.
-
I just had my worst game as survivor.
We got all the gens done very fast, and then got the exit gate 99'd and the killer came to the gate and downed us all with NoED. One person managed to wiggle free and save us all, and we all escaped. But that wasn't any fun having all our progress undone by a single perk like that. We should've been able to just go out the exit gate after finishing the generators.
(Imagine the responses to a Survivor topic that read like that)
-
You sound entitled. I'm glad you uninstalled.
-
I'm 36, and I enjoy the game a lot. I'd imagine it varies. I'm probably definitely on the upper end of the age spectrum. Though the person who got me into the game is older than me.
-
It's weird.
As a survivor you can die and get a Safety Pip, and it doesn't feel like you've failed.
As a killer, you can get Brutal Killer and somehow it feels like a major failure.
(Also for some reason when someone DC's at the start, we get the message "ENTITY DISPLEASED" as if we were supposed to kill everyone in the lobby before the match began or something)
Brutal Killer sounds like a compliment, but somehow it still feels like failure. Like you just didn't do enough. Ruthless Killer sounds good, and Merciless sounds great.
On the survivor side, you just get the message "Escaped" or "Dead". Doesn't matter if you safety pip, depip, or double pip.
So maybe we shouldn't have different levels of messages. "Entity Pleased" if you get enough for a safety pip or double pip and "Entity Displeased" if you depip. Then if someone disconnects before the match starts "Entity Pleased".

Hex: No One Escapes Deaf
Once the Exit Gates are powered, if there is a Dull Totem remaining on the Map, this Hex is applied to it. While this totem is active, all survivors sound will be muted.
-
People tend not to like things that aren't fun for them.
Play however you want. Just remember the other side will do the same against you, and if you don't think they should complain about being tunneled, you shouldn't complain about them using DS and Unbreakable and bringing Keys. After all, they're just countering your play style.
-
Because it's bad for game balance. </topic>
-
Because while we're looping, survivors are finishing gens.
-
Bamboozle is worthless on too many maps for it to be nerfed.

Yeah, many of those killer perks need some buffs. Retribution and Thrill of the Hunt are pretty much useless now that Undying is here. The one person who used Monstrous Shrine was an Iri Head Huntress with Infantry belt. Stridor is pretty good though, especially on Spirit.

Why would he remove information for that though. Who decides whats enough information and whats not anyway, would 3 games of data be enough?5?10? Removing it would just be needless inconsistency.
Also you shouldn't be taking people who are incapable of reading 2 number and making a deduction as a reference on what information you should keep and what you should cut out.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1675358#Comment_1675358
Wait you should have included those somehow, that is HUGE. Most newer players are less likely to DC for anything, SWF usually leave more than solo queue players do. Removing games with DCs is would change the stats a LOT. You should have made more sections for those games.
I mostly don't count them for consistency purpose. If a Killer DC's at 1 gen done, that skews the gens stats as well as average BP. I may keep separate stats on DC's for the future, though. I'm mostly interested in survivor and killer performance, especially when it comes to certain maps. What maps do killers perform best on? What maps do survivors? How do they perform when they don't have an unintentional advantage like a survivor rage quitting.
I mean there's a LOT of stuff I'd love to keep track of but have no method of doing so. How often do survivors heal? How many totems get broken each match? How often does Decisive Strike get used? How often does someone with unbreakable pick themselves up? How long does the average chase last? How long does the average match last? It's stuff I'd love to see BHVR release if they are able to.

I'm surprised the Spirit is only seen 2% of the time now... that and also Meg is seen more than Claudette. Of course this is a player made statistic but still, to only see Spirit 2% of the time is odd, while Claudette is usually seen the most from my experience. I also find it funny that Myers was seen more than Ghostface in this, despite a lot of people saying Ghostface is better than Myers.
Though it was only 100 games, if it was like 500 or 1000 than I wonder what the stats would be then.
I think Spirit is probably low on the list because I didn't count games where survivors dc'ed, and a lot of survivors DC when they see Spirit.

Wait, why even have an escape rate when you've already got an appearance rate? People who aren't reading into the states will think "oh man, Jeff is escaping 100% of the time! These Jeff players are super skillful!"
But in reality Jeff only appeared in .67% of matches. So, the two Jeff's escaped from their matches, woo! ...? What is that supposed to tell us?? Seriously.
You don't have to read the stats. Nobody is forcing you to.

@Boss said:
Funny how the desired 2K happened the least to you.
Yeah, though the average kill rate is around 48%, which would be about 2 kills per match. Which is right around where they want it.
I should probably also add a few notes:
- 11 killers used no add-ons at all
- 14 survivors used Decisive Strike and Unbreakable together. Of those 14, 10 escaped (71% escape rate)
- 46 out of 94 Decisive Strike users escaped (48.93% escape rate)
- I faced 1 Huntress with an Iri Head and Infantry Belt and a Mori. She got a 0K, but didn't get her first hook until 4 gens were done. She didn't use her Mori, obviously. Her perks were: Unrelenting, Whispers, Monstrous Shrine, and Iron Grasp. The map was Suffocation Pit. Ash had a key that round, but he did not use it. (Probably why she equipped Iri Head and a Mori, and probably saved it for him but did not get him in time. But that's just pure speculation)
- Only two killers got a perfect 32,000 BP over 100 games. Wraith on Disturbed Ward with Bone Clapper and Blind Warrior - White, with Hex: Ruin, Hex: No One Escapes Death, A Nurse's Calling and Make Your Choice. None of us brought Items and there was no Decisive Strike. The second was Freddy on Coal Tower with Outdoor Rope and prototype claws. His perks were all Freddy's personal perks, Fire Up, Remember Me and Blood Warden so I'm guessing he was going for his adept. No Decisive Strike that game, either.
I definitely hope to keep adding to this. Should be interesting to see how things change over the next 100 games.

I can't wait until I have better internet. Not sure how long it'll take to upgrade, but it should be within 75 days.
-
I think the Cheryl played really annoying (Jumping on a gen with DS knowing she was safe.) but the Meg wasn't on a generator when he ran into her and she had healed. So I wouldn't be as annoyed at her as I was the Cheryl. She just seems really bad at looping. Some people are bad at it. Three BNP's are a bit much too, but with Ruin and Undying, that can be undone very quickly.
Nothing wrong with running strong stuff. But people often abuse it, and that's when its annoying.
Yesterday I ran into what I'm guessing was a 3-man team. They all had DS/unbreakable, and one had Dead Hard AND a Styptic. Talk about having enough second chances... They left poor Bill (the only one without DS in that match) on his first hook. Jane was the second to last person I hooked, and sure enough as soon as she's rescued she's on a gen with DS and unbreakable. So I definitely made it my mission to make sure she didn't make it out alive. (She didn't). It's not that she had it, it's how she was able to use it.

I understand the premise of your argument, but still say it stands on shaky ground. As a survivor main, I can say with certainty I'd much rather not use my DS. If I sit and work a gen, and DS you, 100% you'll be coming for me as I've pissed you off. Other scenario is you see me, push me off the gen (which yes, I will always leave when you're there), and go to apply pressure elsewhere for a bit. ****, kick the gen, refill your bottles, set some traps, but just get off my ***.
That's you.
Other survivors want to use their DS and will sit on a generator with DS knowing they are safe. At which point I can't undo the generator they completed with DS. Had a game like that yesterday. Jane got unhooked, and went RIGHT TO THE GENERATOR without healing. I got back, they didn't get off the gen. I downed the Jane -- but could not pick her up because she had DS. In fact EVERYONE in the game except the Bill (who was left on his first hook to die, and I had completely forgotten he was there) had DS and Unbreakable. And of course she also had unbreakable (EVERYONE in that match did). What exactly am I supposed to do against that? There's just no counter play involved.
-
Underrated Survivor Perks
-Visionary. Especially on indoor maps where gens are harder to find. You can also use it to keep the chase away from gens.
-Solidarity. Combine with We'll Make It, and you've got two people healed VERY fast after an unhook.
-Deja Vu. This perk can prevent a 3-gen as long as you keep the gens further apart.
Overrated Survivor Perks
-Adrenaline. Does nothing for you until the end of the match. Really strong if you're on the hook or in chase with the killer, but otherwise not very useful. You can finish the last gen injured without worrying too much, though if the killer has NoED, it doesn't really matter.
Underrated Killer Perks
-Mad Grit. Pretty useful against SWF's who like to sabo the hook.
-Hex: Third Seal. This one can be a PAIN for survivors because they have a hard time finding survivors who've been hooked. Less useful against SWF
-Blood Echo. The effects aren't too noticeable, but if you get into a chase quick enough with a survivor who's staying injured because of Dead Hard, it's pretty delicious.
Overrated Killer Perks
-Sloppy Butcher. Countered hard by Inner Strength. Doesn't add that much time unless survivors are healing themselves.
-
Only change to Freddy needs to have BT activate on the person being unhooked being in the killer's terror radius, not the person doing the unhooking.
-
Consequently both are ranged killers who LOVE to camp. Most Pyramid Heads and Deathslingers I meet camp hard. And yeah, just do gens! Cause you know, your solo teammates are always just doing gens and not going for a save.

So you reward killers for doing bad? You're not fixing the problem, you're just making yourself feel better. Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day...
I mean it's just really prolonging the game, giving them more experience.
-
If I see a killer struggling as a survivor, I tend to back off of gens a bit and totem hunt, open chests, and do pretty much anything but gens.
-
What killer would be like "Yeah, I'm going to line up in the Competitive Queue!" There'd be no killers there. So competitive mode would be a survivor lobby simulator.
-
I tunneled this poor Zarina and face camped her because I thought she had Object of Obsession. I didn't realize I had Bitter Murmur because I never use the perk. (I was playing Bubba, and I don't normally play him). Afterwards I get a message that just says "GG". I message back, apologizing for the face camp, explaining it. No harm done. I felt really bad about it, because it was my own fault I was seeing her aura, and not my own. But they took it with absolutely no salt.
Faced a 3-man SWF that was stomping me pretty hard. I managed to get one kill, but the rest got out the gate. Afterwards I get a message from the David, and we start talking about how we were both pig mains. Was a nice little conversation about how we like to play the game.
-
It's important to remember that while there are bad sports out there, don't let them ruin it for the good sports. The toxicity can get to you for sure. I've had moments where I just want to quit playing killer altogether. I've almost got all my perks unlocked on one survivor, so BP isn't as pressing of a need for me. But I do enjoy playing killer when I get survivors who act like they're older than 12.
Both sides contribute, though. I think we could all be a little nicer to one another. As killer, that doesn't mean you have to forego the 4K or play in any specific way. And as survivor it doesn't mean foregoing the escape or not bringing certain perks. But show a bit of humility, and maybe a little bit of kindness. Doesn't hurt anyone. I'd hope everyone who plays this game is mature enough for that, but it's the internet and some people like using the anonymity to bully people because they can. Probably because they lead sad, miserable lives.
