Survs shouldn't be able to get of the hook themselves in the first place.
No one is using Slippery Meat for that and soon (?) we'll have basekit Deli anyway.
Killing yourself on hook just negates the DC penalty and the implementation of bots, it's an outdated feature.
-
Did i miss something? How was Alien nerfed?
-
When playing killer, i'm not a clown. Most survs don't care about my fun, why should i?
Ofc i try my best to win which means at least 3 kills. Everything else doesn't feel rewarding for me.
I would love to go for more hooks, but that's on BHVR, not me nor the survs. We're just playing the objective.
-
Just think about these 2 scenarios:
1) Normal surv match, you get the hatch at the end.
2) Same surv match, but you bleed out at the end.
Pretty sure the result in MMR is the same. That's why idc about hatch anymore, it's meaningless.
-
The experiment doesn't suprise me, we need more of that. 4 solos with a lot of hours, team perks and gamesense will do better than 4 SWFs on comms when they're all like new to the game. It only gets unbalanced when you have 4 SWFs with a lot of hours, coordinated builds and they're all on a (very) high skilllevel.
It's all about your and the others MMR, gamesense and a bit RNG.
I still think we could learn so much more from the stats, when the game just would told us who was solo and who got invited into a lobby (SWFs symbol in the tally screen). You would be suprised how often it's just good solos (or a 2 man). Setting the soft cap just a bit higher might also help, but they need to be careful due to queue times.
-
I don't even want to play other killers anymore. Xeno is the best killer, a perfect organism. It's structural perfection is matched only by its hostility. No more giving hatch, no more surv rulebook (you can be grateful i'm not gonna slug for the 4k). For Entitys sake, LET IT BE!
-
If anything ppl called certain playstyles, killers or builds/perks in DBD "toxic". And they're wrong, it's always the person (and it's intensions) behind the surv or killer. Also we have a lot of projection. Just because you would feel in a certain way, doesn't mean the killer is "mad" or the tbagging surv just wants you to feel bad. The more you play, the more you might realize - the only toxic thing in DBD is the endgame chat. What happens in the game should stay in the game. Seeing a rare GG is not worth it, trust me... just hide the endgame chat.
-
I've unlocked all it's bloody parts and didn't noticed that. (XSX)
If you're on PC try to play on 'ultra'. Low graphics could cause that, mabye.

I think the only real issue people are having with the tail strike is there isn't much you can do other than spin juke if there isn't a turret nearby. If we compare the Xeno to Nemesis:
Nemesis T1/T2 Tentacle
- Range: 5 m
- Movement: 3.8 m/s
- Charge Time: 0.35s
- Hit Time: 0.333s
- Attack CD: 2.5s
- Damage: Must be infected already
Nemesis T3 Tentacle
- Range: 6m
- Movement: 4 m/s
- All other stats same
Xeno Tail
- Range: 4.8m
- Movement: 4.6 m/s
- Charge Time: 0.2s
- Hit Time: 0.4s
- Attack CD: 3s
- Damage: Immediate, but prevented by turrets.
I think people are having a hard time figuring it out because the Xeno tail stab is fast to charge (0.2s is not very much reaction time, and can easily react to pallets/windows), it doesn't slow the Xeno at all (no need to time anything, just pull up when you're in range), has a long lingering hit box (can obviously drag to extend the hitbox laterally), and ofc it wounds immediately.
I think after getting used to using turrets, Survivors will be better at dealing with it, but without a turret nearby, it does kinda feel like you're screwed and have no options.
At least with Nemmy you can greed a pallet and bait his Tentacle. Doing so slows him down, and if you're not infected, then no worries really., you can throw a pallet and run to make distance even off the hit... but vs. The Xeno, if you throw the pallet, your animation takes too long vs. its charge, so Xeno can react immediately to the animation, and you get stabbed over the pallet. If you don't throw it and Xeno pulls up her tail, the Xeno doesn't slow down at all, so you gain nothing anyway... so its a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario. Your only hope is the Xeno misses, and you get more distance on her, or she mind games herself and walks in range of tbe pallet...
Not convinced its OP yet, but have to be mindful of it...
May i ask from were you got these numbers? Sounds right, just curios if they're offical.
I used to main huntress and i wonder if you want to do the M2 into M1 combo on Xeno aswell. And how many stacks of SbfL (without the perk obv) this technically would give.

Default Xeno - IT
Alien Queen - She

I'm holding back on buying the skin until this is 100% answered. Had a lot of fun last night and unlocked it's bloody cosmetics. Only to find out that i like the default one more. They really nailed the black. But it's bloody stuff looks like RIPLEY (LOL) from Dreamcatcher, if anyone saw this Steven King based movie.
-
I used WoO before the buff when it had these numbers (i think, right?) and for me it was totally fine.
So even it wouldn't just be a textbug (which i didnt't tested yet due the fun i',m having with the Xeno), WoO would be still OK.
-
Played Xeno all night, love it! The bloody cosmetics, not so much.
-
I still think the biggest reason they didn't choose the path of nerfing SWFs is that their system can't even track 100% who's playing with friends, esp. when it comes to crossplay. Because if not, why not just adding that information in form of an icon in the endgame screen for a better understanding and stats (as we all know they LOVE stats). Survs and killers would be suprised how often it's only 2 SWFs or just all solos.
-
Someday you might realize, they can't fix bad players. In my exp 95% of 3gens are made by survs. And i get, you have no control of your solo queue mates. But they're the reason most killers keep playing anyway. If you really struggle with 3gens you need to make sure YOU don't allow it. Keep track were gens are beeing worked on and after finishing your's, don't just go to the next gen 5m away. Perks like Bond, Kindred, Deja Vu or Detectives Hunch can help alot, use at least 1 if you need. Or just pay attention to the HUD and combine it with gamesense, it's really not that hard. Also a 3gen means almost nothing if 4 survs are still alive.
-
Some maps are darker for a reaon, it's INTENDED! And the game looks fine with ultra settings and stable 60fps, that's all we need.

Most TV/Monitors come with Contrast and Brightness settings, my cheap TV that I used for a really long time had access to it, I reckon most tech released in the last decade has it. Back when I was on Console I used them, on PC I still use them. And again, I use it to fill in for my Red-Green Colorblindness, I really struggle to see things without it because the colors just blur/blend together.
I also only tanked my Config settings because BHVR refuses to optimize their game. If I didnt have FPS issues I wouldnt be forced to use them. I think BHVR should make these settings changeable without needing to alter the Config to begin with; but this is BHVR we are talking about... it took us 7 years to get a Search Bar... so yea.
Changing brightness or gamma in TV settings won't help for DBD, ppl tried that. And the ingame colourblindness settings doesn't really work for colourblind ppl neither. At this point BHVR could also mess up with ingame brightness settings, maybe it is what it is, better don't risk it. It just bothers me when ppl "mod" DBD so they can see much better (or to have insane FPS) but then at the same time they're pretending it's not an advantage, they just want to DBD "looking better". This reminds me of the stupidity of strechted res.
-
I wouldn't mind filters IF EVERYONE COULD USE THEM. The difference alone between low and ultra settings is huge, console players don't even have this simple option. The fact that DBD is still one of the few games i know without INGAME BRIGHTNESS SETTINGS is just... Idk. Just compare a dark map on ultra (vanilla, how it's intended to be - which is good) with the same dark map on low graphics with better brightness and tell me there is no advantage as you can see the killer and survs much clearer. With good filters on top it's like day and night. And ofc ppl get addicted to it as they feel they need to use it to compete. But how is that fair with crossplay vs. console players?
Imo any changes in the config should be banned and brightness options and a graphic/performance mode should be added for all plattforms. I can only asume the first part would also help a lot with the cheater problem.
-
I'm having this bug for a few months now aswell. Not a big deal, but still. My bell also says "1" after i clicked it to refresh.
-
And i thought the real problem of MFT is the endurance part...
-
Average Solos are the reason most killers keep playing in the first place, never forget that.
The new HUD was a good approach. But if your team plays bad, you're not supposed to win.
You can't "fix" bad players. And balancing around THEM (basekit BT, soon Deli) makes SWFs even stronger.
Players need to get better. And they won't or not even need to if there's too much handholding.

Not really.
Its funny, in this forum every SWF is a Comp-Team, but when it comes to Kindred, they are all so bad that they need Auras. However it fits the narrative I guess.
Kindred shows two things:
- If the Killer is camping
- If someone is going for the rescue
A SWF needs to communicate two things:
- "The Killer is camping"
- "I go for the Unhook"
Both dont require an Aura. The only thing that MAYBE can be relevant is that they can see who is the closest. But this is also really basic communication.
A SWF on Comms will not have any significant benefit from Kindred. Which is why you dont see it when there is a 4 man-SWF.
Kindred does more than you think. It also shows which gens are beeing worked on for example, that would mean pinpoint aura information. I've seen solos pairing it with Open Handed which is insane, with basekit Kindred just 1 needs to bring Open Handed. SWFs don't need to be on comms, it can also just be a 2 or 3 man. You guys really need to be careful with that, that's all i'm saying.

You know, throwing in some buzzwords like "SWF" wont really improve your reasoning.
Auras would not do anything for SWFs. They know when the Killer is camping and they also know where everyone is. But it would certainly help Solos and people who are not 4 man-SWFs.
Let me ask you one thing. What do you think is better, a SWFs with or without Kindred? Ofc free auras will make a difference!
-
Now that's a more fairer approach. Sure, why not.

You don't think having Kindred would be a good change for solo-q? I'm curious as to why.
Just run Kindred, were is the problem? You need to realize that it would also be another buff for SFWs, be it with or without comms - SWFs with Kindred would have free auras on top.
-
No perks should be basekit, that's not how you balance a game. But what do i know?
-
For me it feels the majority of the playerbase is at least above the soft cap at this point. And for how this MMR works, it means it will be still a mixed bag of average, good and really good players. Maybe it's time to higher the soft cap a bit?
-
As a solo, try to run at least 1 team perk in each of your builds. Reassurance, Kindred, We'll make it... anything.
I see alot of games with 4 survs just run "selfish" perks and forget that it's a team effort to win.
-
It's a f meme build build i run now and then. Love when it works and they start to panic and take hits when i carry them to an almost done gen. Even some good survs will fall for this, but don't expect to win with this.
-
Remember, a slugged surv has 2 minutes on the ground, which equals 2 hook states.
So my advice, if the killer doesn't really has a slugg build: Finish the gen, then try to pick up. Even better to split up on 3 gens, most killers will pick up at some point. And if not, all gens should be done anyway.
-
From a competive POV: Sheva, she's the quitest and also very small.
-
Didn't the devs said at some point they wanted to adjust ALL surv sounds so they're more on the same level?
Honestly i can't tell if that's already happend, for me sounds are all over the place.
Because it's not just about injured sounds, but also footsteps (map and shoe depended) and breathing (which can also gets very loud for certain survs, esp. after they just stopped running).
-
Anyone read the lore in PTB, maybe there's a lil hint in there? I'm on console so i have to wait.
But i really like the new hook design i saw earlier, makes a bit sense at least.
-
Besides MMR, both sides tunneling their objectives (kills and gens) is the most efficient way to win the game, it always was. But as killer your first tunnel could be their best surv, maybe even has second-chance perks and/or SWFs and perks to make it really hard. I also see killers who only start to tunnel when the gen pressure get's too much. At this point, most of the time it's already too late. Also the definition of "tunneling" needs to be clear: Killer is only going for you until you're dead.
-
Windows is a godsend perk for solos and consoleros. On PC you can just use low graphics and filters instead.
If you disagree tell me why.
-
Why do you care about pips and emblems anymore? At the end it's just a number only you can see.
Are the bloodpoint rewards each month really worth it? If you need more BPs, ok - i guess.
-
That's HUGE, good job on the liscense!
Interesting no one is questening how the killer power will work.
(I have a mix of Demo and Pig in my head, but with the traps beeing facehuggers. Something like that.)
-
Priorities vs Sadako: Always have a tape, don't allow easy hits on you and heals before gens. Only stay injured when you're holding a tape. Survs need to play different when a killer is clearly slugging in general, the UI helps to see how far the slug has recovered. At the end she's still a M1 killer. If the hole team plays like that she can't slug efficient enough nor tunnel the slug. I think the bigger issue with her are indoor maps were it's harder to find a tape, i saw even good SWFs struggle here.
-
Now Sadako is the perfect mixture of pig (traps = tapes) and tombstone myers (insta mori). You just constantly need to juggle sideobjectives while doing gens and not getting hit. She doesn't get the pressure from hooking survs, as she's not intended to hook anyone. Played a few solo matches and most of the time still 3-4 gens were done... before we were all dead. I don't mind her yet, at least she doesn't camp or tunnel. She's different. Give survs a bit more time to learn how to play vs her. But may still need a bit of tweaking.
-
Genrush vs Killrush, tunneling the objective... call it how you want, that's whats (needs to) happen when both sides playing well and want to win. It's just how the game works. Everthing else are just feelings and i totally get that. It is what it is, we aren't balancing the game nor do we put MMR in it. I think the problem is, it never feels good for the other side to get tunneled, be it gens or the surv. How do you fix that? Idk.
-
Just play one game with low graphics and another with high/ultra settings on the same dark map. Not even talking about filters. On console we can't change anything when it comes to graphics (colour blindness mode doesn't really help here). That's the biggest difference for me. And i don't get why we still don't have ingame brightness settings nor a graphic/performance mode.
-
HUD, basekit BT, soon bots and no more hook grabs so just 1 surv needs to come... Isn't that enough? Need to be careful with that solo buffs, esp. when some are buffs for SWFs aswell. Nothing will come close to SWFs on comms anyway, as a solo you just need to run at least 1 aura perk. Everything else is just bad efficiency, you can't fix the bad players. If anything you make them worse, taking more and more skill away from survs.
-
Windows as many maps got very dark on console without any ingame settings.
It's like playing on 'ultra' with no filters. Hard to believe, right? Try it out yourself!
-
If anything the penalty should only start when the DCd player is back in his/her lobby, not before. Many ppl use the time to spectate (this is mostly important for 5 and 15 minutes penalties), esp. with the introducing of bots - you really need to be carefull with that!
The penalty times in general are fine, this would be just a little tweak.
-
Once you unlocked all perks for your chars (prestige 3) there is no real reason to keep leveling.
For me prestige is just a number which shows how much time you wasted in the bloodweb.
-
The only thing i don't like about Legion is that he/she can counter OTR (not sure about the new DH, didn't played it for a while).
Everything else are just survs not knowing how to split up to avoid getting frenzied and heal, over and over again.
Sidenote: And i want to see more Bunny Legions! <3
-
It happens when you try to balance the game around kills and escapes.
-
Any killer is "overpowered" vs bad survs.
-
After 7 years we actually got the first killer sided event and survs are "burned out" aka don't like it.
Enjoy it as it lasts killer mains, more surv handholding is coming. SOON.
-
Once you realized bleeding out on the ground equals the same as hatch (it's both a draw towards your MMR, depending how many points you made before ofc), it really becomes meaningless. For me giving hatch is just a sign of good sportsmanship which can lead to more positivity. Tho i heard from ppl still flaming the killer, even after free hatch. I personally mostly try to go for the gates cuz i think the majority of the killers expect hatch gameplay. I see hatch as an participation trophy, not a true escape.
