  • Stop punishing. Killers and players in general aren't stupid, they will always find a way around anyway. Instead incentify going more for fresh hooks, like Pain Res. In some of my matches i feel it's just not worth to even hook a first downed surv cuz i know 2 mins later they will stand up with Adre anyway.

  • I started using WoO with the release of Blight and the graphic overhaul. A lot of the maps became much darker by default and pallets harder to see. It's also almost a must in solo Q for me as no one can call out deadzones and it can also work as a little radar. I know tiles and how to run them. But only with WoO i can be 100% sure the pallet is still there and i have many option selects verse all killers.

Old WoO with the cooldown just did that for me, wouldn't mind that nerf.

  • Most killers will "target" a survivor more for quickswitching or tbagging. Some will do if you use really fancy and bright cosmetics, some will do if you play really bad and they see you as the weak link. And even if you're doing nothing of that you will get tunneled eventually anyway just because the killer found you first. Tunneling is part of the game and can be efficient to do. Just don't make it personal.

At the end survivors (skins) are just objectives for the killers.

    Deliverance.

    Off the record.

    Plot twist.

    Sole survivor.

Doubles my escape rate. You just have to play towards the build. Not the team.

Realistic, fun, bit risky but strong in general. If the team fails, just prey the killer doesn't have No Way Out. 8/10

I run the meta. Just need to prey my team is good: Windows - Bond - OTR - Adrenaline

Escape rate? Inconsistent MMR, i don't really count my wins.

This event is totally killer sided, survivors do not need to spend time doing this blood things to gain 50% less grunts of pain, it’s basically worthyless

Didn't even know. When are you getting -50% grunts of pain? In a blood circle or when holding a blood aura?

  • Who cares? If you are enjoying that content, watch it. All i know is that it can take just a 4man of comp or comp wannabees with triple map offerings, insta heals and meta builds to break any streak, streamsnipe or not. And it's sad to see that you need to pick the strongest killer + filters (i asume) to even compete against good teams, be it solo or SWFs.

  • Who cares about 3gen anymore since the changes?

Now that a gen can only be kicked / regressed 8 times, a 3gen just takes a bit longer with a good team.

Suprised i still didn't had it happen ONCE in my games.

  • I feel you. Just play as a team until the potential "breakpoint". By that time you should be able to tell how good your team was, how and what perks the killer played, so you can make a call if you're able to finish all gens or not. If you're not confident in your team there's no shame going for the hatch or gate. There are a lot of tools for hiding. If you feel you're in a 2 or 3 man just play it safe and treat them like streamsnipers. Don't rotate your camera and just look up or down so they can't call out your position. And remember they can only see your aura while on the ground, on a hook or on the killers shoulders.

Most of the time i don't care too much anyway, i just wanna go next.

Main reason are killers slugging for the 4K. Pick your poison which method is quicker.

  • Can anyone confirm that breaking him out while wearing a helmet works exactly the same as revealing Ghostface?

  • UW might be the best overall detection perk. But against a good team you're wasting time opening lockers only to see them screaming on gens. That's why i think UW is more a solo stomper as it breaks a lot of surv aura perks (Windows, Bond, Kindred, etc.) which leads to confusion when it comes to unhooks. And yes, as OP mentionend some killers def have better usage of the perk.

Real chads are using UW on Pig. <3

  • Guess the problem would be killers who use 3-4 gen perks already.

Imo BHVR needs to stop with all that basekit nonsense, on both sides!

This is 100% correct. The outcry about the Survivor-portion of this Chapter would be far higher if Sable would not look like she does. If it would have been someone like Haddie who gets those Perks (not that Haddies are that good either), there would be more complaints. But a bunch of people is happy to get a pretty Skin when playing Survivor and thats about it.

Yup. Her appereance, sounds and voice matches very well together. From a character designer's POV, Sable is a 10/10!

But her perks were the reason i only bought her with Iri Shards. For me, that's fair enough. Perks can get reworks in the future.

  • Once finished, it takes 10% charges of ALL gens, no matter if they're blocked or not. So the most efficient this perk can get is using it right at the start of the game with a no-heal build. But do it not alone as it takes 120 seconds, with teammates joining the ritual it goes much quicker with the same outcome, even quicker if someone else has the perk. You want these -10% charges ASAP on ALL gens, not just on 1 or 2 gens at the end. But be aware that the perk is a potential solo-queue killer. I just used it for her Adept and was kinda lucky getting it in the 5th trial. Sorry to my solo mates. Never gonna use it again, i promise.

I like unique and alternative perk ideas, but like Potential Energy using this solo isn't really worth the risk, sadly.

  • This happens when you make wincoditions pretty clear (kills and escapes) and put MMR on top - Meta by Daylight.

Genrush vs. Killrush. If you don't participate, you most likely get stomped. Doesn't sound very healthy, does it? If you want to change that you need to stop playing and take a long break. Sadly, but i fear there's no other way.

  • If anything, NOED gives really bad stats.

How does one tunnel a generator?

Are there other objectives survivors can and should always be doing?

With killer, I can pick one out of four survivors to chase, as a survivor all I can do is a generator if folks are healed up, etc.

Let's say there're 2 gens close to you, one is 0% the other on 90% and the killer isn't in the area.

Which one are you gonna do? Can't we just except that both sides tunnel their objectives?

Even harder when you put MMR in make that win condition pretty clear - kills over hooks. Don't blame the players!

  • Sea of Thieves is crossplay for example were both PC players and consoleros (Xbox and soon PS5 aswell) can download and play insider builds. We even get weekly rewards (cosmetics) for participating.

  • What are "5 gens left"? Bad stats again, could be 3 gens on 90%.

  • You mean all the survivors handholding they added so they don't need as much skill, learn and improve anymore? 100%.

  • If you think you're getting tunneld for bringing bloodpoint offerings, you def need more hours in DbD. On both sides!

  • Instead of trying to bring solo Q up to SWFs level (which will never work), we should ask why in all that years SWFs never got touched. Not once! Now we have so many surv perks / combos that only really shine in a coordinated SWFs, Killers get bullied and next match the solos have to suffer for this. A good solo team is fine, always was - good SWFs are the problem!

  • Is that the reason they made survs so small in the lobby when playing killer?

  • Kindred and Reassuruance. In solo Q i don't blame the killer for (proxy) camping, but my teammates allowing / feeding it.

  • Besides perks usage % , stats don't tell you anything in DBD. Also don't be suprised that going for kills / escapes + using the strongest tools becomes meta if you make that win condition pretty clear. Before MMR ppl also played for pips, which could mean a win even with under 2 kills or no escape as survivor.

  • Sometimes i use it as a "if everyting goes wrong" solo perk, works well with Inner Healing.

  • Aura / team perks aren't crutch.

  • For me as a solo on console (some maps are REALLY dark and we don't have any graphic settings nor filters) WoO is just a QoL perk.

It was great even before the buff. So i wouldn't mind if it had a 20 sec. cooldown again.

  • I always find it funny when survs quickswitch to P100.

For me that's not the reason i tunnel, but the quickswitch to a strong item might be.

  • 3gen got nerfed, Skully changed and i learned how to counter her drones with a lil crouching. And still in my head every Skully just wants solos to suffer (esp the ones with Penti builds). Idk really what it is about her, but i even prefer versing Nurse or Blight. If they're good, at least the match is over quicker.

  • If you refuse to play the meta, you prob get rolled more often. That's the problem with MMR in any multiplayer game.

  • Since the map reworks, some maps are still just too dark by default (mainly Autoheaven and Springwood).

  • I don't have a main surv nor a P100. I have like 7 Mio BPs most of the time, kinda stopped spending them since prestige update. Even with the updated bloodweb, i still don't enjoy the process of leveling. It still takes too long, it's boring and i just wanna go next.

  • Pretty sure all infinites are gone, but the killer needs to waste a bit time to break certain unbreakable walls.

There're still many go(o)d loops, only M1 killers really struggle here, but strong anti-loop killers too if you just pre-drop and watch how the killer reacts. Overall shift W and loop chaining is the best thing a surv can do, versing an Artist or Huntress is the best way to learn this.

The only downside for shift W is you running into your teammates on gens, Windows and Bond is a good combo to prevent that (solo).

  • They could implement just a brown crosshair addon for Huntress, Trickster and Deathslinger.

Wouldn't be a big deal as PC players can use crosshairs anyway.

(Remember that Nurse Addon what showed you where to blink)

  • As long it's optional like on PC i wouldn't mind.

  • DS will be only meta again if they make it better than OTR. A huge change alone would be 80 secs. , like OTR.

  • Good killers don't just tunnel the first surv they see / chase. Except they can already tell this surv didn't play well or they got a really quick first down. I think it's more about knowing WHEN to tunnel, that knowlegde and exp comes just with playtime. When a killer starts to tunnel because they feel they NEED now cuz the gens are flying, 90% the games it's already to late anyway and they only get 1 or 2 kills, maybe 3 if the survs are dumb or NOED things.

  • BHVR tried really hard, but they can't fix bad players. The amount of survs with meta perks, insta heals / BNPs got crazy high with MMR, but it won't help them when they still have like 0 gamesense. And you can't even blame them with all that handholding, they never really needed to learn. I swear most survivors these days don't even know how to save unhook anymore.

Even with pre nerf STBFL it was impossible to prevent unhooks. You can down them long before the animation is complete, that survivor will still get off. Consistently.

Depends how many stacks of StbfL...

Don’t forget no more hook grabs, nerfed Pigs traps and I think they recently nerfed Billy by giving him a slightly longer cooldown or something.

Yeah, getting rid of hook grabs was also huge. Good survs still know how to safe unhook with 2 ppl (except StbfL and insta downs).

(I don't think Billy got nerfed overall. Tho he's really fun to play and verse now, that's why you see him A LOT. He's the new Wesker!)

  • Did ppl forget about basekit BT, the new HUD, anti-facecamp, anti 3gen and bots?

Also i find it silly that SWFs NEVER got touched. If anything, they got stronger with the "solo buffs".

  • If every solo surv would just bring 1 teamperk consistenly, solo queue would be in a better state. Bond might be the best, i still prefer Kindred. Not for me, but for the team! Info is key in solo queue and the new HUD was a real gamechanger. Of course it doesn't help when your solos are not doing gens and have 0 gamesense or DC early. You can't fix players.

  • I don't think modes like "casual" or "comp / pro / whatever" would work. What would stop ppl from "abusing" these modes and play how they want? Maybe a "comp mode" with perk restrictions... like they have in comp? But why solos would play that? So you have to think about queue times. Lights out did work tho, but mainly because it added something unique for both sides.

Overall i like the idea of more optional, time limited gamemodes. But the more they implement, the more it will effect queue times.

So there should be only 1 optional, time limited gamemode at any time.

  • I like the idea with the OG mode - DBD classic. Old movement and animations + original map graphics + old perks.

But solo queue overall is in a much better state now with basekit BT, the HUD (use it!) and (i hate to say it) MMR.

  • Good survivors and killers know when and what surv / gen needs to be tunneld.

Bad survivors and killers just tunnel any gen / surv they see.

  • Most of the time Solos fail because the lack of gamesense and / or communication.

  • @TheGoodGuy said:

I tunnel. Tunnel can make survivors rage quit, or submit and stop running or try and kill themselves. I’m not here to justify what strategy makes me comfortable as a Killer, but if the survivor I’m trying to tunnel was a good sport about it. I usually don’t finish the last hook and just drop them next to a hook and leave them alone (or slug if they start body blocking).

    • Tried to stay interactive in chase
    • Didn’t give up
    • Always struggled on shoulder
    • No BM

Basically when we both know what I’m doing and you accept the situation and still do what you need to do for the team, without being toxic and seemingly asking me to focus you, then you’ll earn my respect and I’ll let you go.

In my mind, when you play like your treating tunneling as a valid strat and playing ‘normally’ then you have a good understanding of how it is for Killer, probably been in the trenches too and it’s like I lose all my motivation to kill you. I know I could Kill you, you know you should have died, we both know why I’m tunneling so…I’ll throw the game.

I dunno, it’s like when you’re in public and you see another version of yourself.

Im that survivor who gets tunneled out too, I do my best to loop, I don’t give up when I’m targeted over and over after unhook and I continue to struggle to give my team of strangers as much as I can before I get taken out. As more of a Tunneling Killer, I see so many give ups, team abandoning and over time I just became more sensitive and soft on the ones who keep trying and playing despite the overwhelming disadvantage (in a personal but not team level). I’ll have plenty of wins against the rage quitters and weak-minded survivors so, I don’t mind letting some games go if I find a Kindred spirit.

Best reasoning i read so far. Teaching them good sports as both sides tunnel their objectives.

  • Are numbers the same in every first person game? Or do you need to use different % to get the same FOV outcome?

Also don't you give survs easier blinds with higher FOV, like using Shadowborn before?

  • You'll see 5 DC symbols in the endgame screen after a server crash. There's no DC penalty for anyone in that case.

  • The outcome playing efficient vs. fair will be pretty much the same against really good teams. 1-2 kills on average.

No killer is winning this, not your favourite streamer nor any "comp" player. That has nothing to do with skill, it's just numbers.

At the end it all depends on the survs. If they make no mistakes and there's no weak link you're screwed.
