- Obviously, I hope this mode returns for you and I hope you have a lot of fun. Whatever the devs do, I won't be playing it. I'm a skin/banner/badge collector... since 2020, I've owned almost everything ever released in the rifts (both normal and "special rifts"). I hated this mode so much, I literally gave up on the last "special rift" just to avoid playing it.🤣
-
- Many survivor perks desperately need other perks to have any value. Most of the time, you can't get any value out of them, and it's like playing without any perks🤣 but it's a fun dynamic.
-
- Just a clarification: to genrush, you need specific perks/builds or at least bring specific toolboxes with specific addons into the game... to tunnel someone, you simply use the basic game mechanics. So in this game mode, genrush and tunneling cannot be correlated.
-
- Vee's tambourine + any toolbox (perhaps with add-ons to increase capacity). For those who don't know, using a toolbox causes skill checks to appear more frequently by default.
-
- Yes, Blight is a bit overused and a bit too strong. We all know it, those of us on the forum, main killers, main survivors, devs... everyone. There must be a reason why they don't want to nerf him. I imagine that (unlike Nurse) he attracts many new players, willing to learn his mechanics. On YouTube you'll find tons of videos specifically about this killer, including win streaks, tutorials, specific techs, videos with advice from survivors on how to counter him... all killers have this kind of video, but Blight is really on another level.
-
- I could say the exact opposite. The shroud of separation (which I've been using every game since it was introduced) simply doesn't always work... usually the separation is only a few meters more than normal, or on maps like Haddonfield, it practically never works. What I've understood about this logic is that if the map is "big enough", it actually tries to separate five players (killer must also be separated from the remaining players), but if there's no space... it simply doesn't work. Sometimes the shroud of separation creates a "partial separation," meaning the survivors appear in pairs. Guys, I've been testing and testing for months now, and I've even filed a bug report here on the forum. On the very rare occasions when I don't use the offering(example, when I use event offerts) , survivors appear to be truly attached to each other, sometimes a few meters apart but still visible. Another observation is that the survivors have learned that initially they need to separate as quickly as possible. Before the change, I saw more random behavior from the survivors, so they would attach themselves to the first generator they found within reach, without considering whether anyone else was nearby. I say this because some killers often have the impression that the survivors are "too separated" from each other, but the truth is that already at a medium MMR, the survivors have learned to separate quickly. If we consider that perks like sprint burst are meta, this explains why after just 3 seconds of play, the survivors are already very separated from each other. As an early game perk, when I play killer, I definitely prefer "corrupt", it's safer than "lethal", also because with a little experience, in 90% of cases, I always guess where the survivors have appeared
-
- I'll tell you the most controversial thing in the history of this forum... but originally the hatch was used precisely to "limit" and discourage tunneling. The old Hatch appeared based on a calculation of completed generators/players remaining in the game. If I remember correctly, if there were 3 players remaining, all it took was 4 completed generators and then the Hatch would appear. The Hatch remained open for 10 seconds after 1 survivor had used it, after which it automatically closed and the remaining players had to escape through the doors. This is why tunneling (even though it has always existed) is so powerful and effective today... it simply wasn't an automatic win for killers with the old mechanics.
-
- The "free DC" option for survivors when the entire team (or at least all remaining players) is slugged. For me, who really have limited time to play (work, family, friends, home, other hobbies), it was a blessing.
-
- I'm Pyramid Head main. When I play Survivor, I see a lot of Blight, Kaneki, and Myers... I'd say almost every other game is against one of these killers. Other killers I see regularly (but not as often as the ones mentioned above) are Huntress, Wesker, and Oni. About ten days ago I played 5 games (all as a survivor) and I encountered 4 consecutive Blights... I was simply disgusted🤣
-
- Total lack of communication in solo q, in a game where coordination is key.
- MMR simply doesn't work.
- Fix these two problems and the game will be significantly better. Seeing P100 killers (so we've supposedly invested time in learning their respective mechanics) playing their power terribly is becoming the norm. Even the killer doesn't realize how negative this whole situation is.
-
- As for Myers' Mori, it now works a bit like Pyramid Head, so it's not a "new mechanic", It's definitely more balanced than its older mori add-ons. If you don't like its overall gameplay, that's another story.
-
- Spirit is doing great. She's definitely in the top 10 strongest killers in the game. (in my opinion)
-
- If I had to give tips, I'd simply say play for fun and accept that sometimes you win and other times you lose... STOP. DBD is no different from any other video game in this respect! Paradoxically, the fact that "official" balance of DBD is the killer has a 60% chance of winning only increases this state of anxiety, because when you lose you think, "I was really terrible, even though on paper I have a higher probability of winning, in reality I lost." Even the killer winning streak doesn't help this psychological condition: if I see Odzarva making a long winning streak with any killer in the game I'm led to think "so it's possible to always win, if I lost it's my fault!"
-
- For me, this is the most fun event of 2025. Snowballs are a simple yet interactive mechanic, without disrupting the gameplay at all. Being able to freeze the pallets (on both sides) is useful and powerful. It's the first time I've seen players truly "waste time" and relax 100%, even the sweatiest killers who usually take the game very seriously. For me, this event is a big "yes."

but she can’t do that anymore. So what’s the problem?
- In psychology, it's called "post-traumatic stress disorder."🤣 In reality, she's a mediocre killer, but she has a good ability to "deny the loop." As soon as the survivor dares to do something similar to a loop, she drops one of her drones, and the survivor's best choice is to press W and change the loop. Obviously, it's not her fault; that's just how she works. So, at an average-high skill level, she's not a very fun killer from the survivor's point of view. The knight also suffers from the same problem.
-
- The DS is still a great perk. Its purpose isn't to "make the survivor OP" but to buy time for the team/generators. Except with the very mobile killers (Nurse, Blight, Kaneki), you'll be able to buy at least 20 seconds of chase time, which in DBD is a really long time.
-
- I often use perks that the community hates (spider invocation, no mither, red herring etc etc), I won't dodge any lobby because of the perks. But I would be """afraid"""of a build that is too stealth-focused, or too altruistic (sabotaging hooks, flashlight)
-
- Friendly killer during events... I love it
- Friendly killer in the "normal" game... very boring
- Killers with a strong personality and funny... rare but adorable
-
- The game isn't dying, but it's true that management this year has been disastrous. DBD will be in full health whether I leave or you leave. Player patience has a limit, and BHVR is exceeding it.
-
- We absolutely cannot compare the current Advent calendar with the old ones. For those who don't know, in the old Advent calendars, EVERY YEAR there were "ugly sweaters" for the new survivors released that year. The ugly sweaters free were also for the licensed characters; in fact, I'm sure I received Cheryl's sweater as a gift at Christmas.
-
- The difference is that before with a good killer (nurse, bligth, billy, kaneki) you could "manage" the pallet density problem. Now the survivors have to face the exact same killers as before (nurse, bligth, billy, kaneki) but with very weak resources... it's not exactly the opposite. I'm not saying that nothing had to change, but not like this
-
- Aside from the combo with sprint burst (which is a really strong combo), I think syringes have been heavily nerfed. While when I play killer and use an iridescent addon (in most cases) I really feel a huge boost in "strength"... the iridescent survivor addons are (at best) mediocre. The Styptic Agent is simply awful, and no one will convince me otherwise.🤣
-
- After 4 excellent skill checks (while injured), you gain 30 seconds of "broken" and then become healed. Plain and simple, and without praying to all the saints in heaven to activate it.🤣
-
- The dangerous drift is not the buff/nerf from one side or the other, but the fact that "whoever shouts the loudest" on social media is listened to by Devs.
-
- Forget it and move on to the next game. The killer is just trying to piss you off. It's just a way to be toxic and claim victory
-
- Aside from the paid DLC (I own ALL the game's DLC), I haven't bought anything this year, not even a skin. I use in-game currency if I really want to buy something, and I have (about) 1,300 auric cells that I save for the Rift, which you then get back when you play. STOP, when they start thinking and working properly again, I'll start buying skins again. In other times, I would have bought the new Cheryl skin, which I think is beautiful... sorry, but no!
-
- My opinion. I don't like playing against Skull Merchant because I like looping. As soon as you dare to do something similar to a loop, she drops one of her drones, and the wisest choice is to change loops and move on to the next one. She's a killer who really encourages "press W" gameplay. Paradoxically, when the drone attaches to my arm and I enter "deep wound," I feel happy because I can finally play the way I want. For the same reason, I don't like Knight and (although to a lesser extent) I don't like Artist.

Legion still sees a fair amount of play. Also, strength never correlated much with popularity. That applies to DBD but also PvP games in general. People play what they enjoy playing, period. Twins, Singu, Krasue are top tier killers that you encounter once in a blue moon because not many people vibe well with them, that's all. A B tier Blight would still remain among the most played killers in the game.
I completely agree. People play with the killers they love. Any change in the game (positive or negative) can happen... players will always use Blight and Huntress and very rarely Trapper or Twins.
-
- I'm offering my own personal experience, which may not represent the actual state of the game. Since the new update, I've played roughly 25 matches, and the killers I've faced are always the same (Blight, Kaneki, Huntress, Wesker, Oni, Billy). I've faced a Skull Merchant twice (I imagine they were testing the recent changes), an Artist twice (very unusual to encounter her once, imagine twice!), a Bubba and a Nurse. I've never seen a Trapper, Ghostface, Pig, or any of the "m1" killers in general.

@Rickprado said:
The devs already said they don't think that is a good change (in their perspective) since it would be too hard to balance, specially that this should be considered for every new killer they release.
- I don't think it's a huge problem to give 10-second cooldowns to any killer, old or new. Ironically, the one most affected by this change would be Nurse.
-
- No guys, I know you have the best intentions and genuinely want to help, but these must be people who do this for the money, who use "aseptic" methods and have no emotional connection to DBD. People who don't care if Blight gets nerfed or if the number of pallets in "The Game" is halved (I'm just giving two random examples).

I'd gladly volunteer for something like that.
I have been around since 2018, and I see glaring issues on both sides, and issues regarding the game in general that needs to be fixed, so spending some time to give proper unbiased feedback would definitely help the greater cause.@cogsturning said:

I think many would. A volunteer program with parameters to filter out extreme biases would probably be very successful, especially if they gave them in-game trinkets like exclusive badges or cosmetics.
-
- I'm not sure what I'm saying, but I think the game has trouble recognizing who the obsession is, so all the obsession-related perks don't work properly. I've had 3-4 matches where the game would mark two obsessions at once.
-
- Learn to say NO, even if some people in the community yell and cry. The loudest aren't always a majority. It is rather the opposite.
You deserve a standing ovation just for that statement
-
- Yes, they're really doing terrible work. There must be a problem within the team, I'm truly sorry, but if they continue like this, they'll really destroy their game. For me, this is the worst update of 2025 (and 2025 will never be remembered as one of the best years for DBD).

My point is… this game can never be balanced.
Following.
Imagine a normal survivor, not good not bad needs in a normal game of DBD 15 pallets till the exit gates are powered.
A bad survivor or a new one needs 10 pallets more. A pro survivor needs 5 less.
Now what do you do?
Keep it at 15? Hell this Game is kinda unfriendly to new players and not such skilled Survivors.
Push it to 25? Hell this Game is pallet breaking city and good survivors are doing 5 gen looping with an ease.
Nerf it to 10? Hell this Game is favoring Killers.
And this is only one example. Lets keep going because I got some time.
This example for 15 pallets is for M1 Killers. Now we got something like Blight or Nurse.
What do we do?
Give more pallets to counter them? This will most likely kill all M1 Killers
Give the same amount? Now these Killers go for a Rofl stomp on all not cracked survivors.
- It's also true that DBD is a peculiar game from this point of view... somehow, players always expect to win. It's very rare for someone to admit their lack of skill, or simply that their opponent deserved to win. When I started playing DBD in 2020, I played exclusively survivor for the first 2-3 months. I was a complete disaster and my only hope of winning was the killer who granted me the hatch. Yet I started playing the survivor role when it was at the peak of its power (old syringes, old "self-care", old loops, etc.). I simply loved the game and "accepted" my lack of skill and wanted to learn. Today I see a completely different mentality, where both sides expect to always win, no matter what, and everything is "dbd's fault". No game will ever be 100% balanced. For the last time, the Fortnite example: I've seen exceptional competitive players in official tournaments die a few seconds after landing just because they had a worse weapon than their opponent... they didn't complain at all; in video games there will always be a randomness/balance factor that is literally impossible to predict. It's as if DBD (for some very strange reason) gets too emotionally involved in the player.🤣

Yeah bring back Almo!!! /s
How good do the testers have to be?
Is a cracked Ghostface the samer tester for a first time Nurse?
I get your point… but this won´t solve a thing.
If you have a team playing and testing things like how many pallets do you need… how much hours should the survivors have?
A good team of 4 survivors won´t need that much pallets vs a Wraith as a bad team would need.
It sounds good but it won´t work or even tip the scale more into new players which makes the game to easy for veterans or into the favor of the veterans which makes the game unplayable for new Survivors.
- I understand what you mean, but a good tester is also able to evaluate the game from both a beginner's and an expert player's perspective. To use the Fortnite example again: some weapons/items/heals/mechanics available in some game modes are not available in other modes or in competitive play. It's a process of evaluation by testers (and to a lesser extent, the community) that leads to the removal/addition of certain in-game items.
-
- One last clarification: and no, content creators cannot also work as testers... a tester must be 100% IMPARTIAL, if I have economic interests linked to the game, I cannot be a reliable tester

Hey folks! With regards to the pallet density changes, as you dig into the changes, if you run into anything that you're not digging please do let us know. We can make sure the feedback is shared with the team.
Importantly, the more specific you can be, the better. If there's a specific loop or tile that you feel is too strong, let us know which one it is - bonus points if you can provide screenshots!LOL, I really hope this is all a joke, yes, of course, the pallets are still too strong, we need to reduce the pallets further, so the health operation is perfect🤣
-
- Guys, did you play the new maps before giving a review/opinion? How can you say there are a lot of pallets? Luckily, there are screenshots of the actual pallet situation on Twitter (X) and here on the forum. I hope Mods have a COMPLETE view of the reactions and don't dwell too much on those who give opinions without even playing the game.🤣
-
- If we want to analyze in detail, syringes were one of the very few items in the game that could counter slugging and tunneling. I'm speaking from my experience: 70% of the time I used the syringe on myself, but the remaining 30% I used the syringe on slugged or tunneled survivors (immediately after being freed from the hook). Simply put, tunneling and slugging is now easier than before.🤣 at this point, if it was really necessary to nerf syringe, the survivor could use syringe EXCLUSIVELY on others and never on himself... that's a fair nerf.
-
- I appreciate (actually, I love) DBD's retro graphics, I always like almost everything aesthetically, but this change really sucks. And no, it's not nostalgia, it's just an aesthetic factor.
-
- I was sure it would end up like this. Some loops are really ridiculous... but despite everything, I didn't see a single Trapper or Ghostface in my entire play session (killers who in theory should now be encouraged to be played).... always the same 5 Top Killers (Blight, Kaneki, Oni, etc etc) + Skull merchant.
-
- 70% of the new pallets are the classic 50/50. So goodbye to skill (on the part of the killer and survivor) and just a celebration of randomness. Some people talk about "dead zones", but honestly I haven't noticed any in my games.
-
Surv : The strongest exhaustion perks (sprint burst - lithe) should have a longer cooldown. It's not normal to use a sprint burst twice in a chase (I'm especially referring to the combo with Vigil).
Killers: The aura reading perks are a bit too strong on certain killers (Nurse - Huntress). There should be some sort of cooldown so as not to chain the perks too much.
- Buffs for both roles. The endgame perks need to be stronger (including NOED and Adrenaline). I use a perk slot that I can ONLY use in the endgame; it should be truly amazing (my opinion).
-
- Please, argue all you want, but saying that the old Off the Record is a "super strong" perk is simply not true. A survivor who does NOTHING for 80 seconds is a blessing for the killer, not a problem. Realistically, who the hell used Off the Record without doing anything to advance the game? "It could have been used offensively!!!" . Better yet, 2 people (one being chased and the other trying to use Off the Record) who don't work on the generators. Am I the only one who catches survivors working on the generator immediately after being unhooked without even healing???

I think it is very hard to compare killers which function completely different.
Things like this to me only make sense when you define certain killer "classes" and go from there.
For example:
- Stealth (Wraith, Ghostface)
- Dash (Wesker, Blight)
- Ranged (Huntress, Deathslinger)
- Debuff/Torment (Plague, Doctor)
- Hybrid (Dracula, Vecna)
- Chase (Xenomorph, Clown)
- Map or area control (Knight, Trapper)
Something like that. Comparing the classes also seems hard, as it depends on what you enjoy most. A not ideal meta killer can still be strong when someone passionate enough learns and improves with that particular killer and specializes.
For me, Wesker would be Dash and overall decent, while Plague would be Debuff and probably the best in that category. Tbh I don't even know where to put Houndmaster. Maybe Chase as she can lock down loops very effectively with her dog (if he listens). But any way, she is decent at best.
I totally agree. Comparing two killers that are completely different in gameplay (e.g., Wesker and Plague) is impossible. The only thing you can do is say, "A is stronger than B."
-
- It's a great video, but it's not exactly designed for beginners. There's a lot of information, and if you're really just learning the basics, you might feel overwhelmed or not understand much.
-
- basically they haven't changed anything, can I say I expected that?🤣
-
- Basically everything remains unchanged, except for the nerfs to the med kit addons, and the maps will have a pallet overhaul.... period. Fantastic🤣I think nothing will ever change at this point
-
How long should a chase be to be seen as good? (1 Gen? 5 Gens? 1 Stun?)
- It's really difficult to answer this question. At the beginning of the game, with all the pallets available, the chase should theoretically be "long." In the mid/late game, when resources are fewer, it's normal for chases to last shorter. It also depends on the killer's power; a stealthy killer at the beginning of the game can grab you on the generator and literally make a chase last 0 seconds. And finally, who is the killer? Because you can't compare a chase with a Trapper and a good Nurse. With a good Nurse, running a 30-second chase is already a great result.
- In general, in all the questions you asked, there are so many variables (killers, perks, addons, maps, MMR, etc etc) that it is difficult to give an "exact" answer
