Are turrets those things that take forever to get out of the chest and then when you carry them you are moving at a snails pace and then they get destroyed in one attack and barely do anything anyway except waste time from doing generators?
Wow cool mechanic.
-
Devs wan't killers to win most of the time. 60% kill rate target minimum. You can guarantee the twins will be overpowered.
-
The devs haven't gotten to their minimum 60% kill rate or whatever stupid goal they have. That means more killer buffs on the way, more survivor nerfs on the way. I personally believe they want a 70% kill rate at least. That means most of the time survivors will lose, sounds pretty fun right?
How ever easy you think it is for killers, just know that it will only get easier. The game will only get worse for survivors.

Good thing nobody likes Lithe and SB, right?
They will be nerfed too in time.
I guarantee it.
-
Imagine if there was a system that would allow a bot to take your place if you wanted to leave the match. Pretty neat hey.
Now I want you to imagine a system alongside it that encourages people not to allow a bot to take their place. A Disconnect penalty.
Sound confused? I am too.
All of a sudden that hook suicide looks pretty tempting.
-
If survivors have found a perk that they find fun to use you can guarantee it will be nerfed.
Windows will be gutted.
-
Have to skew the stats back in your favour somehow.

It's already on the road map so they have to know about the stupid house windows. There will probably be a lot more pallet density in the road to compensate, but at least it's not "road=death, house=safe"
Im gonna take a guess and say made smaller, useless loops, unsafe pallets, added 'visual clutter' which is just another way of saying pointless objects placed everywhere. The map will be put out at the same time as multiple killer buffs and a survivor perk nerf because too many people were having fun using it.
Wow I can't wait.

Okay, so we have:
Increased generator repair time
Nerfed healing
VASTLY buffed tunneling
General buffs such as faster kick and swing cooldown
Gutted survivor perks
Broken killer perks
Broken killers getting buffed
Maps with built in dead zones
Yeah, so hard to play killer these days.
Don't forget nerfing every single survivor item into the ground.
-
Sam and Dean wouldn't be taken down by some overtuned killer. They would kill the killer.
They would look weak and helpless in this game. That is not who they are.
It's a no from me.
-
As killer continues to get buffed every single patch, this problem will only get worse.
The devs want 60-70% kill rates across the board. Survivor will only get worse to play each update.
-
No. Knowing these devs they will release it overtuned with a kill rate of like 60-70% instead of the normal and fair 50%.
-
The devs should remove all graphics for vision impaired people.

@ASurvkillivorer said:
Lets be real they never really fit into the game no pun intended.
Their only use was the OP hatch function. Now that is pretty much gone for the most part. They're a trash item with an intended wide variety of options.
Keys should do multiple things.
Open chests faster?
Maybe destroy a key for a little bit of gen boost?
Pull an item out of a little box on a gen?
At the very least DELETE broken key. Like #########. Then lower skeleton to very rare and dull to rare. They might as well do the same thing.
I don't think I've ever played with someone who EVER bothered to use the key for the aura ability. Like ever.
The devs have only nerfed survivor items. Every single item in the game has been nerfed. There will be no buffs.

There are killer streamers going on win streaks of hundreds of games in a row. There's not a single survivor player in the world who can escape hundreds of games in a row, especially in solo q. Even 10 escapes in a row would be a massive achievement. Look at how much killers complained about MFT even when they were still winning most games. They don't want to survivors to have ANYTHING that makes the game challenging for them. The worst thing is that devs have listened to killer mains and ruined the game for 80% of their playerbase.
The devs will continue to coddle these people. Its only going to get worse for survivors.
-
More killer buffs on the way each patch.
Survivor will only get worse.
-
Survivors will keep getting nerfed overall. Killer will continue to get buffs. The tunnelling will only get worse.

It is the easiest it has ever been. And not really hard at this point anymore.

Yea I say the same about klller I'm on a 70 kill streak right now with Freddy using no slow down killer is easier then it has ever been.
It's only going to keep getting easier.

Adds bots for when people dc, adds a dc penalty so people don't dc.
Stock in Hook suicides skyrockets.

I don't think this is disdain at all, this is their interpretation of how a horror game should be played. Agree or disagree.
That said, I don't agree that SoloQ is in a good spot either. Teammate loadout information and tweaks to perks to help show other survivors you have it active (being able to unhook yourself via Deliverance and Wicked, or highlighting your locker when Head On is ready for example) and some kind of anti-slug that survivors can't manipulate would help a bit.
However, saying the developers straight up hate a large portion of the community is just rage-baiting and makes 0 sense. They're clearly viewing things on the dread factor, not trying to make things easier to escape just because survivors don't like x killer. And one look at their cash shop should tell you that they definitely don't want to lose that revenue either. One of the biggest problems I have in SoloQ is survivors giving up, even if we're winning and get 3 gens popped before they go down, because the killer is Knight, Nurse or whoever they hate (Even Scratched Mirror Myers for crying out loud!)
As for Nurse herself, I do agree she's not as hard to master as Cote thinks and most Nurse players I face are very good. I do think she's hard to get into though, I myself took months of trying to really get into her because I first thought the teleport was disorienting, but once you know what you're doing she's pretty simple.
It is disdain.
People have been talking about the gap between swf and solo since year 1. There have been tens of thousands of posts about it.
It took 8 years for a HUD to get added which allowed some form of teamwork information. The most basic form of gap closing between swf and solo. 8 years.
They obviously do not care about the solo experience. Comments from the video just confirm what I and alot of solo players already knew.
Disdain, please buy my skins though.
-
The devs are not fans of having counterplay in the game. They want 60% kill rates minimum. You are supposed to be helpless and at the mercy of the person playing killer while playing this game.
-
Nothing worth being hopeful about on the horizon for survivor players.
It's only going to get worse.
-
The way to make it grow is to have one player mostly win and four players mostly lose instead of a fair 50-50 shot for all.
BaLaNcEd ClAp
-
It took nearly 8 years to be able to see what actions your teammates are doing. Don't hold your breath for anything else this decade.

Once they add more Invocation perks I think it will be okay. Right now it’s awful simply because you spend so much time on a pretty meh effect. However once they add more perks, spending 2 minutes to gain the effect of 4 perks doesn’t seem too bad, and less time when multiple survivors join in.
Right now however, yeah it’s pretty bad.
Yes, they will be like boons. We all know how great and fun boons were before they were made useless.

7.6.0 -
The Unknown is one of the most broken killers ever introduced to the game. Not overpower perks, but really strong map control, chase, and special attack. (both sides agree about this)
unbound, unforseen, undone are all stronger than wicked, weaving spiders, and strength in shadows (subjective)
Greenville Square has bad map balance (both sides agree about this)
Huntress buff
Hag buff
Pig Buff
Doctor buff
Deme buff
Clown Buff
Blight Buff
7.5.1 -
Billy Buff
Onryo Buff
7.5.0
FOV buff
Gen tapping removed
7.4.2
Trickster Buff
Batteries Included Buff
7.4.0
MFT nerf
Stranger things perks removed from common bloodweb (net negative for all players, but 6 perks lost for survivor and 3 lost for killer)
Red Forest map size reduction
Garden of Joy main house nerf
7.3.0
Skull merchant buff
Trapper Buff
Huntress Buff
Deathslinger Buff
Legion Buff
Trickster Buff
7.2.0
Ultimate Weapon introduced (overpowered)
Knight Buff
Demo Buffed
7.1.0
5 killer perks buffed, 1 nerfed
3 survivor perks buffed, 6 nerfed
Cowshed nerf
Spirit Buff
Hag buff
Need me to keep going? In contract survivors have gotten
- anti face camp
- gens can only be kicked 8 times (instead of unlimited)
- Mangled nerf
- background player buffed
Those are literally the only things we have gotten. And most of those things affect literal game-breaking playstyles that toxic killers have tended to use more and more recently (3 gen locking and face camping). Only the Mangled nerf and Background player buff have actually had a positive effect on survivor players that does not directly address a problem with the core playstyles of the game.
Both sides have been adjusted, yes. Survivor mostly Quality-of-life improvements, while killer gets actual movement speed, reload speed, special power, and perk buffs. Hope this helps.
Look at this list and take a step back.
Now tell me how it's not going to get worse for survivor players.
That list shows the trend. It will only continue.

Gave up ready after the 3rd line. You not know how an asymmetrical game suppose to work? The one killer player needs to have more power than the 4 survivor players. If you want a 'balanced' asymmetrical game go play Death Garden and see how that game turned out.
"I an asymmetrical game, one person is supposed to mostly win and the other people are supposed to mostly lose that is the definition of balanced".
I don't agree with op's reverse 60-40 rule but I do agree with the sentiment of the post. Survivor is absolute ass to play. All of the fun of playing survivor just keeps getting sucked away by the devs. They seem to have some fascination with buffing killers even though noone asked for those buffs and taking from survivors.
They say they want a 60% kill rate but I personally believe 70% is the real target.
The only fun thing that I can think of that survivors received in years was the HUD addition. Everything else was either a hand holding mechanic that does your job for you or removal of mechanics/fun. All items nerfed into the ground. Any fun perk obliterated into uselessness thanks to their logic if if people use them they must be too strong. Increasing the amount of time doing skillchecks, reducing chase time and removing interactions between killer and survivor.
The long term trend for survivors fun is trending down. Latest patch was a massive amount of killer buffs (see my 70% target above). Not even a single perk buff for survivors.
The trend is your friend. It will only get worse for survivor players.
-
It's only going to get worse.
-
It's only going to get worse with the next update. Massive amounts of buffs for killers. Not a single thing for survivors.
You know how they feel about what you are asking.
-
Year 2 or year 3. Back when the game was actually fun and required some use of your brain. The game had hype moments and both sides could express more of their gaming ability. The game was wild both equally oppressive and exhilarating. Overpowered stuff on both sides, that made it fun.
Ever since then the game has only been dumbed down. Survivors fun continues to be taken away. Killer has been made baby mode easy.
Take me back to year 2 or 3.
-
Good luck getting anything for survivor, let alone solo.
Look at the upcoming patch notes. Only killer buffs. Not a single thing for survivors. Not even an awful perk being buffed.
Solo mode is never going to happen.
-
The patch notes are 100% buffs to killers, 0% anything for survivors.
If you aren't used to seeing patch notes like that I would start trying to get used to it.

Because people remember how much fun this game used to be. They are chasing that feeling.

"The killer MIGHT play naughty so I don't wanna play"
I appreciate you proving my point for Pig though and why does it anger me so? Because I see it from both sides as killer and survivor i'm not a killer main elitist and neither am i a survivor main elitist i know how it feels to waste your time when your teammate just stops playing.
If you don't see it happening in every other game you're not playing killer and actually winning that's why be above average as killer and survivors don't even wanna try anymore (You can hit good shots as slinger? I don't wanna play sorry) its annoying and has nothing to do with the killer I don't understand why this must always devolve into "No but YOU did something bad as a killer how dare you pick Pig?! I don't care about what you want its what I WANT" why can't you just accept that some (keyword some i'm not insulting the entire survivor community) survivors are just entitled whiners who want you to play their way?
BHVR needs to do something about survivors giving up its not a gameplay issue its a mentality issue and certain streamers don't help because they populate the idea that giving up is ok and you should do it at a moment's notice. This isn't an Us vs Them issue its a bloody gameplay issue that affects everyone.
It's a gameplay issue. Survivor is not really fun to play anymore.
People don't leave when they are having fun.
Survivor gameplay used to be tonnes of fun but it's not much fun in its current state.
-
Just a guess but I would say it's because the game has gotten progressively less fun for survivors the last few years.
More killer buffs are on the way next patch.
It's only going to get worse.
-
Do not hold your breath for anything resembling good news for survivor in the near future.
The trend over the last few years has been nerfs to every item and most survivor perks overall. Mechanics have been removed such as Moris, hook grabs, gen tapping, burning killers, tiles have been dumbed down, loops have been shortened, mouse 1 holding has been greatly increased overall(most boring part of the game) interactions with the killer has been lowered overall.
Less hype plays, less epic moments more hand holding mechanics that play the game for you like anti camp, anti tunnel. I imagine an auto loop button and auto chase button is on the cards
I'll give them props for the HUD addition though.
More killer buffs are on the way next patch.
The long term trend is survivor fun heading downwards. The trend is your friend.
-
Survivor is in the most boring state in the dbds history. Nerfs to basically every item and addon. Nerfs to any fun or decent perk. Half baked buffs to weak perks. Buff upon buff to killer.
More time spent holding mouse 1 on gens.
More time spent holding mouse 1 healing.
Boring hand holding mechanics added like anti tunnel, anti camp. Interactions removed like hook grabs, burning killers with flashlight etc.
The game has become far too simplified, dull and stale. There are no real epic moments or epic plays anymore. The game is starting to play itself. I would not be surprised if an auto-loop and auto-chase button was added to this game in the future.
Survivor is incredibly bland to play in 2024.

@Sandt1985 said:
I keep hearing that solo que players still need more help in DBD, but I got to ask..........Really??
I'd like to point out how many buffs solo que got in the past 2 years. Anti face camp, basekit BT, the new gen regression rework to prevent three gens, nerfs to gen regression perks across the board, a way for all survivors to see when another survivor is in chase, showing all survivors what specific action another survivor is doing at all times, the visual heartbeat, STBFL was nerfed, mangled is being gutted in the next update, solo que has gotten a lot of help over the years. The one other thing they tried was basekit unbreakable, but that PTB it was tried in showed why that should never be attempted again.
I gotta ask, what more do you want?? Basekit 5 second DS? Basekit Kindred? When will it be enough? At what point will they be satisfied?
The only reason those boring mechanics were added was because most of the surviver players tools were taken away from them. No dead hard, no ds, no insta heals, nerfs to loops, gen times increased, healing increased, toolboxes, medkits etc etc etc.
The devs took from one hand and added hand holding mechanics to the other.
