This is the hardest i've laughed at a thread in the entire time i've been on this forum.

its kinda wild but scott jund is actually a houndmaster defender and has the logical takes on killer balance for once
he's the only content creator i've seen who is in my biased opinion is correct
So I watched his latest video. Scott said she could be overpowered and that some aspects of her kit shouldn't have been buffed as much as they were. His main point was that it's too early to be sure.
-
It's because survivor isn't fun. Especially not in solo queue. To quote something Otz said the other day. "Winning as a killer with one perk is easier than winning in solo queue". The effort required to play solo only to lose in the end just isn't worth your time. I am currently playing DBD less than I have in the past and when I do it's usually on killer. The plus side is the state of solo survivor helped break my DBD addiction.
-
At this point I think it's a deliberate effort by Behavior to make people earn less BPs. Between these last few events and the fact that there is rarely a good BP incentive anymore.
-
He was overbuffed when they took his scamper away. I don't think they should have reduced his dash speed though. I would rather they revert everything except the extra cooldown. The problem most people had with Chucky wasn't that his power itself is too strong. It's that it was possible to spam it because the cooldown was so low.

Henz says that?
Every time I see him talking about "techs" this clown always says "skill expression" to lament things like Dracula's Wolf Hugh Tech being removed.I'd be very surprised if he said this. Hens is associated with the comp scene and they allow crouch teching against strong killers. Even so called "high level" players don't think it's an issue.
-
Hopefully Blight or Nurse if we're lucky.
-
Hens suggested it should be basekit after being slugged for two minutes. This would punish excessive slugging and not normal gameplay.
-
I noticed the incentive stopped working less than a day before the last version of Lights Out. I am usually stuck at 25% and rarely go above that. My queues seem longer too. They obviously broke something and either don't know how to fix it or don't care. The incentive does NOT work the same way it used to.
-
You might as well just delete basekit BT if you're going to do this. You would basically be guaranteed to die if you got hooked in the end game except in the very unlikely situation that your teammate brought the perk. This basically just gives the killer a free kill that the survivor has no counterplay for. Survivors USED to have at least some counterplay to this because they could bring DS. The problem is people whined and now it doesn't work in the end game. I feel like basekit BT is a pandora's box that can't be closed at this point. What do solo survivors do when they just deleted because their teammate didn't bring BT? Doesn't sound like a lot of fun to me.
-
I don't think it will change much. People who want out will just run to the killer and give up. The killer can bleed them out but the game will still be ruined for everyone else. If they start banning people then they will start doing it in more subtle ways. Like act as if they are trying only to run into a wall mid chase. There are so many ways people can throw the game if they don't want to play. It would make more sense for them to gather info about why people give up so much and attempt to fix those issues. Maybe in one of those surveys they love to do so much.
-
I actually finally did give up on playing survivor for the most part. The only time I play survivor is when there is a new event/special game mode or if a new page opens up in the tome. Playing solo survivor in the current state of the game is one of the most miserable experiences I have ever had in online gaming. I compared the data from hundreds of my own matches and this is what I found. I can either play killer and get at least a 3K at close to a 90% rate or I can sweat buckets in solo queue to barely achieve a 50% escape rate. The 50% being on a good day of course.
Of course there's a lot more to it than this. It's just the amount of unfun things that can happen when you play solo. Getting matched with a 600 hour teammate and a 5000 hour killer? Game is over. Killer wants to slug you for the 4K? Nothing you can do. High tier killer wants to tunnel, proxy camp, and bring a full slowdown build? Game over. Teammate doesn't want to play anymore? Instant loss. I genuinely feel like at least half of my survivor matches are a complete waste of my time.

Someone on the forums: "Thrill isn't a problem"
*Otz and Hens, with 10s of thousands of hours between them saying it's busted, exist*
The people who are defending thrill will defend anything that benefits killer. It doesn't matter how ridiculous it is or what the most well known killer players think of it. These are the same people who defended old eruption and three gen skull merchant by trying to pass it off as a skill issue on the part of survivors.. The best team in the world getting locked into an hour long game wasn't enough for some of them to see how ridiculous the old skull merchant used to be. This should tell you everything you need to know about the type of player you're dealing with.
-
After watching several videos on thrill of the hunt I agree. I have no idea how this ever got through the ideas stage. Now the question is do we have to suffer through it for a long period of time like the eruption meta or will they nip it in the bud before it gets out of control.

@BritneyMitch said:
I mean does anyone think dracula didnt need a bit of a nerf? The majority of the community views this as a good change, Dracula is still a very very strong killer.
He definitely needed nerfs but they nerfed the wrong thing. It was the bat form that needed to be nerfed.
-
Pick rate after the initial hype will speak for itself. If it's the game changing perk killers think it is then it will be used by everyone. If not then it will be just another dead perk. I don't think anyone in the average match will bring it after realizing it immediately puts them on death hook. Killers who tunnel also proxy camp and the average player is just gonna go down immediately after the exposed triggers. It might see limited long term use in SWFs but they didn't really need help against tunneling to begin with.

I feel like that's why they started doing separate queues. People who want a break from events can just queue up for the normal mode while the event queue is there for everyone else.
This would be great if the events didn't make the queues way longer for some of us who want to play normal. This is a big part of why so many people were dreading the return of 2v8.
-
@Shroompy said:
Ive noticed the queues become faster as time goes on, and thats exactly how queue times are fixed in this instance
If they keep it, the novelty will wear off and queues will eventually stabilize themselves.
I doubt it. Survivor gameplay just isn't fun. You either dominate or you get two killers who run around tag teaming in which case there is zero actual gameplay for you. You just go down and there's nothing you can do about it. No way to make that fun.
-
Could you please give people a reason to play killers other than huntress? She is just way too common to the point where she is making the mode boring.
-
Game might actually be worth booting up.
-
I have been matched with comp players from several well known teams despite being a solo only player. There is no functional MMR in this game. Don't overthink it. MMR at this point is just something people use to boost their own ego and to discredit other players who aren't on their "level".
-
There is definitely something wrong. The queues for killer should not be this long with no incentive for survivor. It doesn't make any sense at all.
-
Killer mains really are desperate to get that extra ten seconds removed.
-
All I know is i'm ready for this game mode to go away. I can't even play the normal game because the queues are so long. It isn't even driving up player numbers by a large amount anymore if you believe steam charts. It's just dragging the normal game mode down at this point. You can't keep sacrificing the base game for this novelty game mode. Especially not now that we're in the realm of diminishing returns. The only way this multiple game mode experiment is going to work in the long term is if you make the game free to play and massively boost the population.
-
So as much as I hate the lack of killer variety I am actually 10-0 in my survivor games. I would have been 11-0 but I just got a dedicated server error. It might be… too easy? I feel like i'm playing killer in 1v4.
-
Same killers over and over again. Every game I get is some combo of Billy, Blight, Huntress. Hillbilly in particular is not fun to play against at all.
-
I think Behavior severely overestimates how much people enjoy playing against overtuned killers. One of my favorite things about 2v8 last time was not having to worry about Billy flying around the map and insta downing the entire team. I get that it's fun for the person playing him. The problem is it won't be fun at all for the casual audience that plays 2v8 on the survivor side.

@I_Cant_Loop said:
BP incentives have been broken for quite a while now. Apparently it's not a priority to fix.
They won't even acknowledge something is wrong.
-
The difference is frequency. The logistics of putting together a four man SWF dedicated to this kind of build makes it so rare that it doesn't matter. On survivor you can get a killer running four slowdowns every 2-3 games. Can gen rushing builds be OP? Sure but lets not act like they're anywhere near as common as high tier killers stacking the strongest ****.
-
He is still good. I have gotten at least a 3K in my last seven Chucky matches. With all of the gens being completed only once and the only escapes being through the hatch. Don't know what more people want when he is already extremely strong and easy to play. I am hardly what you would call an amazing Chucky either.
-
You missed Chucky's Rat Poison addon being thrown into a volcano.
-
Killers being strong is fine outside of a handful of exceptions. The problem is they keep nerfing maps on top of it. You can't keep reworking and releasing every killer into the A tier while we have maps like Haddonfield. If killers are going to be strong as a default then maps should be buffed. They shouldn't be balancing maps with the bottom five weakest killers in mind. It makes playing against the rest incredibly painful and unfair.
-
The hatch should just open a certain amount of time after the second to last survivor goes down. Someone brought up a similar idea in another thread and i'd be completely on board with it. Then close once one person goes through it to prevent multiple people from getting hatch. Make adepts only require a 3K. Killer still wins and can still get achievements. All it does is get rid of the ego driven obsession some people have with getting a 4K. The current slug for the 4K meta is not sustainable and is dragging survivor gameplay down in a big way. Either that or just let me leave the game without any penalty. The time wasted in these scenarios adds up and isn't insignificant.
-
It's just the devs being stubborn. Everyone told them this was a terrible idea from the start. Yet they went ahead with it anyway for no real reason. What they need to do is admit it was a bad idea and get rid of the system entirely. It's definitely not something that makes the game more fun for the majority of players. No one on the receiving end of this type of gameplay is saying "Wow that was so cool!". If they just absolutely had to have the finisher mori then they should have at least realized that this type of gameplay would be a consequence of it.
-
Everyone will get sick of it faster than you think. It's way too limited compared to the base game. You can't make your own build and are severely limited in which killers you can play. After 2-3 versions of it we will be in diminishing returns territory. Then hopefully it will become less frequent.
-
Even killer biased content creators like Otz don't say it's survivor sided anymore and will freely acknowledge that the game is at least moderately killer sided in 99% of matches. I assume it's just an ego thing for a lot of people. No one wants to freely admit that they play the "easy" role. What I do know is that my escape rate on survivor (53%) is significantly lower than my win rate on killer.
I was watching a team led by OhTofu trying to break the escape streak record and they got destroyed at 30 games by a LEGION. In another streak the best team in the world lost a streak to a trickster. If survivor is so EZ then why can no one manage to get a huge streak like killers are able to do? Why do they keep losing to "weak" killers that i've been told are not viable against good players? Are they all just bad at the game? If a bunch of 10k hour survivors can't do it then who can? Where are all of these unbeatable SWFs that people love to talk about? You'd think SWFs were escaping thousands of games in a row with the way some people talk about them. Knightlight said it best on twitter. You should never struggle to win against pubs unless you are on a bottom five killer like Freddy or Trapper. Pub matches are absolutely killer sided and there is no valid argument that says otherwise. I don't know why people even use comp as an argument when it's an entirely different game that only exists in private matches.
-
I don't understand why it's so difficult for them to add a basic mechanic where survivors can bleed out faster when there are two people left. That and a system that automatically ends the match when all four survivors are slugged with no way to get up.
-
Funny enough I just got out of a game with a Sadako like this on Hawkins. We got absolutely destroyed and could barely even retrieve any tapes. One of our teammates never did manage to retrieve one at all and was out of the game at 4 gens left. At that point the game was just over. I don't know if this is OP or not but it was definitely boring to face. I literally never get Sadako when playing survivor so I wasn't even aware this strategy existed. It was a P100 Sadako with 6400 hours so they clearly knew what they were doing. I would assume it's so effective because most people simply don't expect it.
-
The Bat Form has to be nerfed significantly. The current state of it has Dracula in the conversation to be an S tier killer. There is basically no cooldown to go from bat form into an M1. It's completely overtuned and also brain dead gameplay. Dracula will be a fair killer once this is solved.
-
I don't actually run into that many people who do it for no reason. It's usually something which happens in games that are total train wrecks. Games where the survivors have no hope of coming back. Something like an S tier killer who ends up with five hooks before the first gen even pops. Then someone sees which way the game is going and decides to drop themselves. The amount of people in my matches who give up just because they were the first one downed is actually pretty low based on data I have from slightly over 300 solo queue matches. My escape rate is significantly higher than the average so it could be something that is more common at lower MMR levels. At the end of the day I don't care if people give up in games where the survivors have no chance. I think they should just add a concede button for these situations.
-
This isn't really a hot take to be fair. A lot of experienced killer mains on twitch agree with this sentiment. He's like the 3rd or 4th strongest killer right now. He's basically a better version of spirit.
-
The extra ten seconds on the hook is the best change they have made in a long time. It should have happened when they made the gens longer. I'm not losing any sleep over camping being made weaker.
-
Bat form will be justifiably nuked. Chucky CD will be increased by 2-4 seconds. Rat poison addon will get deleted. No idea about the others.
-
I took it off my build. I tried using it for around a dozen games and it's too slow now to really make it worth using over other perks. Killer has so much time to do whatever he wants that it's not worth using anymore. Back to the same old meta that will continue for the rest of the game's existence.

Nerfing WGLF during slugging epidemic is the best example of how seriously devs go about their own game.
We can't inconvenience the power role. Survivors bleeding out for half the match is fine though.
-
It feels like you're still better off just bringing a cake instead. That's how it subjectively feels in my matches. I find this entire event to be very underwhelming for bloodpoints. Hopefully the next one is a bit better.
-
Everyone is bad after breaks. I used to be quite good at nurse. Can't play her well at all anymore due to so many breaks. Like the above poster it sort of killed my motivation to play her.
-
@dwight444 said:
I def saw less slugging post WGLF buff, killers seemed genuinely concerned that it could be in play. I saw killers more reluctant to slug and they'd just pick up immediately which makes the perk useless. The perk was strong on paper but it could also easily be countered.
but as usual, nerf it into a useless state. Before someone says it's not 'useless', yes it can still be used but it's not worth a perk slot anymore.
Yea it's kind of wild that they nerfed this considering how bad slugging is at the moment.
-
I said this in another post but I ran into this exact type of cheater the other day. I've run into plenty of cheaters before but they were never able to give me DC penalties until this one. It's crazy how cheating is so sophisticated now that you literally can't play the game because of it.

@GlamourousLeviathan said:
I find baffling how people think that Chucky deserves a nerf. He is still a 110% killer with absolutely no map pressure. I honestly think he deserves a buff. Actually, from these killers, the only actual strong one that could be justified a nerf is Vecna.
Go watch his showcases against high level players. He is absurdly strong and I don't know how people can't see it. He's an A+ killer at worst and probably the strongest killer in the game after nurse, blight, billy.
