It's insane how people argue to keep OP structures in the game. Then you have the nerve to complain about the existence of anti loop killers. Anyone who has ever played against good survivors on that map knows how strong that building was.
-
The gen slowdown meta exists because gens go too fast. It takes 80 seconds for a single survivor to do one gen. You're against four people. You might as well not even play at high MMR if you aren't going to run at least corrupt intervention. Coconutrts is one of the best huntress players in the world and has been getting destroyed in high MMR games when he doesn't run some kind of gen slowdown. If a high level player like that is struggling while playing a strong killer then there is a problem with the gen speeds. Same thing happens with Otz.
-
Or they could just make the bp gains from bbq and wglf basekit. It's kind of silly that we have to run a perk to get more bps.
-
Anyone who doesn't think dead hard is by far the most busted thing in the game is either completely delusional or trolling. The fact that everyone at high MMR uses it is all the proof you need. It's basically undeniable now since it's supported by data. The sprint burst being better nonsense is also dead.
-
This is the best change they've ever announced. Perks should be small advantages. They should not decide the game more than player skill which is currently how it is. A lot of mediocre players are going to be exposed when this change goes through. Anyone who pretends like there aren't a ton of ridiculously OP perks on both sides is delusional. I think people are just mad that they won't be able to go into a game with an insanely OP build to get easy wins.
-
I take it you've never played him against high MMR survivors. You'll quickly see his weaknesses come out. They'll hug every loop so tightly and time every pallet throw perfectly. They'll abuse windows so much that bamboozle is basically a requirement.
-
I think Blight is harder. People say Billy is harder but that only comes from the fact that he's so clunky and weak by comparison. Anyone who thinks Nurse isn't difficult to play well has only ever played her against low MMR survivors. Playing against bad survivors vs good ones is an entirely different game. Bad players will just run in a straight line and let you blink on top of them which makes nurse seem easy when you are starting out. The most bad survivors will do is repeat the same patterns which can be picked up on very quickly. If a bad survivor tries to run back at you then they are probably going to do it every time you blink.
-
It’s because only sweaty players still play killer. If you play a lot you will notice that that casual killers are a rare breed now outside of extremely low MMR. The remaining killers play every match like they have a family member's life on the line. Killer is not fun for anyone outside of people who have a ton of experience and enjoy playing in the sweatiest way imaginable. Dead Hard, Unbreakable, Circle of Healing, extremely unbalanced maps, weak killers. The OP survivor meta forces killers to play this way. Not to mention the way survivors treat killers. There are threads literally every day where people talk about how anxious and stressed playing killer makes them. Make the game more fun for killers who aren't sweat lords and the game will be less sweaty. If you want a small but easily fixable problem then look at how all four survivors can spawn in a different location. They can all immediately hop on different gens which is just insanely bad game design and overwhelming for new killer players.
-
Average nurse is ok to go against. Most aren't very good and will make plenty of mistakes. You at least feel like you have a chance. A sweaty nurse is not fun to go against because they all play like they have a family member's life on the line. You're probably going to spend half the game on the ground. They run starstruck, infectious fright, agitation, etc and will never fall for mind games. They're probably going to send you to Midwich or the game as well.

Still strong but only with mother daughter ring. Spirit without addons is trash.

Nope I see him all the time I think trickster is similar to legion in a way where he's weak as hell but people just find him fun to play
Like hitting someone with knives gives me the same fun as staby stab legion
I'm surprised people still act like Trickster is one of the worst killers in the game. He's like around the middle or slightly below it. People act like he's worse than Pig or Trapper.

The Deathslinger should also be perma banned for taking advantage of it.
Is this a joke?

At a point facecamping makes sense. Facecamping the first down is one thing. Facecamping when you have two downs with three gens done is probably the right call. At that point it's probably your best chance at coming back. Survivors often screw things up horribly when the killer is camping. Or how about when someone is ten seconds from dying on the hook? Can you really fault the killer in that situation? It makes complete sense to do what they're doing.
-
The problem with the MMR system is they still won't tell us exactly how it works. Like what is the maximum range it matches you with? What exactly is the MMR cap? It'd be nice to know all of these things.
-
What Otz said is correct. The worse/nicer you play the more toxic people become. People will taunt you relentlessly when they realize they own you. The in game toxicity goes down a lot when you're destroying people. As the killer you have no reason to ever play nice.

Spirit take off the add-ons and its just a predictable peekaboo killer.
Claudette they're either comp players or just wannabes.
Yea but no one who knows what they're doing is going to play spirit without addons. A sweaty spirit is guaranteed to have mother daughter ring on at the very least.

Pyramid Head is the most overrated killer. His torment trail is awful, his shockwave is the most over-broadcast power in the game, and his addons are the worst of any killer. He's high B at best, but people love to call him S-tier. Yet, for some STRANGE reason, you never see high tier killers playing PH nonstop, or people running him in tournaments, or even just seeing tons of him in the current MMR quagmire. He's not BAD, but he's wildly overhyped.
He's good. The fact that he can completely ignore some of the strongest perks is a big part of it. Most people who play him are just really bad and make him look weaker than he is when played to his full potential. A good Pyramid Head is rare but they can be rough to go against. Higher level players don't play him because Nurse/Blight exist. That doesn't mean he isn't strong.
-
I almost never see her anymore. Imagine people not wanting to play weak killers that are locked behind a paywall.
-
Corrupt Intervention being basekit would be good since it's powerful on any killer. It's almost essential at higher level play and would especially help the more inexperienced killers who feel like they are being "gen rushed". People saying killers shouldn't get something for free are actually insane. BT is one of the strongest perks in the game. It gets run by pretty much everyone at high MMR. Giving already good survivors four free perks per game is a massive balance shift. Basekit BT without giving killers something strong would be Behavior once again buffing the people who need it least. (good survivors) It'd make high MMR killer even more miserable than it already is.

Its time for corrupt to go... Into the base kit
Yep. Especially if survivors actually do get BT basekit.

It's been a fun ride, but I think DBD reached its peak and that was in 2021. DBD has lost about 45% of its overall playerbase in the last 7 months. The game is dying slowly but surely and people are quitting and just moving on.
source: https://steamcharts.com/app/381210
BHVR knows this and I have a hard time believing they will do anything to improve it (they have proven time and time again that they don't listen to their playerbase the majority of the time, the changes they make end up making things worse, and they constantly seem to take one step forward, two steps backward in most things). I'm not sure how much longer I will be playing DBD as SBMM has ultimately ruined most of the enjoyment I had left in this game.
It's always funny when people go through the most ridiculous mental gymnastics to justify why the game is losing so many players.
-
I remember once a killer on here had some statistics from 500 games played. One in particular showed how strong dead hard really is. His kill rate was more than 20% lower when four survivors were running dead hard. Pretty insane that one perk is allowed this much power. I think a dead hard nerf is a guarantee at this point. It's just whether or not it's going to take them another year to do it.
-
Tofu is on the money with what he said. It's the perks that are frustrating to go against. If you are high MMR and the matchmaking actually works then you can bet that EVERYONE will have Dead Hard, DS, and Unbreakable. I personally think it's insane that people are allowed to run all of these together. It's what makes playing M1 killers impossible at high MMR. There needs to either be a major nerf to the survivor meta or some kind of limitation on how many second chance perks you can bring. It would not have a major effect on lower MMR players and would only be a nerf to high MMR players who understand how ridiculously powerful these perks are when used together. The current survivor meta is so strong that it completely invalidates everything else. Killer has far more variety as to what you can actually bring and still win. With survivor its just DS, Unbreakable, Circle, Dead Hard, BT. MAYBE sometimes you see Prove Thyself and Sprint Burst.
-
It is actually impossible to beat a good team with three second chance perks each if you are playing a killer like Pig. The only way they can lose is if they massively screw up multiple times which just doesn't happen at higher level play. It's another reason why MMR is bad since you are forced to play certain killers if you want to beat good teams.
-
You can't play Bubba normally against good survivors unless you can hug loops extremely tightly with the chainsaw and not run into walls. Something most Bubba players don't do very well. You need a lot of precision with the chainsaw.
-
Nearly every survivor will stand at the exit gate until the timer expires unless the killer goes and pushes them out. They have no right to complain about the killer dragging the game out slightly by slugging for the 4K.
-
You aren't getting away from an even semi decent nurse who wants you out of the game.
-
I stopped playing because I got sick of going against the same thing every game. Every survivor at high MMR runs dead hard, unbreakable, and DS. At least one will have a boon. Barely any exceptions to this. SBMM is so unfun for anyone who isn't in the low middle MMR. Nothing enjoyable about facing sweat lords with OP perks every single game.
-
What are they gonna add that can replace the overpowered perks that exist already? I don't think anything they add is gonna top a perk that literally lets your entire team self care with no penalty. The current survivor meta is so strong that nothing they could add would ever get used. Like what could they possibly add that would beat out DS, Dead Hard, Circle, Unbreakable, etc? There's already an extremely powerful perk for every situation.
-
The amount of mental gymnastics in here to say that sprint burst is better than dead hard. If it's better then why do 90% of high MMR survivors use Dead Hard and not Sprint Burst?
-
I play survivor with my very casual friend and we always get matched with the sweatiest killers despite losing the large majority of our games. One example is the 4k hour Nurse we got last night. Game went exactly how you'd expect. Either the system doesn't work or a lot of killers smurf their MMR.
-
She's so weak that an 8k hour killer like Otz couldn't even manage a double digit win streak on her.
-
Perks as a whole are too impactful on both sides. They should not be completely game changing on their own. You just end up in a situation like now where some are so strong that no one uses anything else. Make things like BT basekit but nerf the power of perks across the board.
-
Lerys as Nurse. Can't see anything. Good survivors will break LOS at every chance.
-
The thing is nerfing meta perks does not affect the casual playerbase. Anyone who has played in both low and high MMR would know this. Casual players don't run meta perks. Even in mid range MMR you might only see 2 dead hards per game. It's only the top 10-20 percent that are running dead hard, ds, unbreakable, circle, etc every game. Casuals wouldn't even notice if you nerfed dead hard. If you have a high MMR killer and one that is lower then you can see this for yourself. All these OP perks do is serve the highest level players who are already good.
-
They could have smurfed. I've noticed a lot of afk killers lately who are presumably tanking their MMR. Even an average nurse can wipe the floor with average survivors.

Underrated - Trapper
Trapper is generally considered to have a poor early game since he needs to set up traps before getting into chase. This is true, but efficient pathing makes it less of an issues (e.g. search for survivors while also setting up traps along the way). He's got super high snowball potential, can completely shut down loops that most killers can do nothing against, and has the potential to end chases in less than a single loop if he corrals the survivor correctly.
Trapper is super dangerous in the right hands, but many of the problems that M1 killers have are exacerbated by his need to spend time setting up traps. He's a killer that can clutch a game in just a few moments, and he really only struggles on the maps that every other killer already struggles on.
Overrated - Spirit
Spirit was pretty good for a "turn your brain off and win" playstyle until the most recent nerf. Now, her main strength of doing """mindgames""" is completely gone. Since survivors have pretty good information on what the Spirit player is doing, they can give her a lot of trouble in chase and strong pallets. Pallets that other killers can still get hits on after it's dropped. I don't think she's an S tier killer, she's closer to mid or low A in my eyes. But that might just because I'm not good with her and I don't play against her often.
She's still S tier with the right addons. Mother Daughter Ring with maybe Dried Cherry Blossom. You're so fast that even good survivors won't be able to react if you're good.

I'd take this trade in a second as a killer main.

True. All you need to do is watch GTVel to see what Billys true ceiling is. I couldnonly hope to be half as good of a Billy as him. But some of us just arnt meant to be THAT good with Billy.
I've played against this guy once. He got a 2K which both came in the end game collapse due to dumb mistakes. He was very good but the limitations of Billy against good survivors showed in that game.
-
Who wants to sit in the queue for ten+ minutes waiting for a match that is never going to be perfect? I'd just quit if they made the queue times even longer than they already are. Playing survivor is already awful due to how long it takes to find a match during primetime hours. Killer is similar in the late morning/early afternoon. The days where the MMR was off were the best because you had instant queues constantly. If you had a bad game then you just instantly queued up and were immediately back in the action. I'm not interested in bullying people. I just want to play the game without having to wait 50 years for a match.
-
Her problem is the same as it has always been. You can't do anything against good survivors. You will eat pallet after pallet and there is nothing you can do to avoid it. If you play at high MMR then you'll be lucky to get two kills when you play well. Her 4K potential is basically non existent if the survivors have any amount of skill. Going up against four dead hards and circle of healing in particular feels hopeless. There's a reason why almost no one is playing her anymore. She does not feel good to play at all. They created a killer who is hard countered by everything in the survivor meta. Hit and run? Instant heals with boons. No anti loop abilities? Just run from pallet to pallet and play it safe. Dead hard into a pallet when you need distance because there is nothing she can do about it.
-
Funny how these types of posts always leave out the details.
- He changed a win from 4 kills to 3-4 kills.
- He did it during the MMR testing where MMR basically didn't exist.
-
Queue is six hours long for me now. Nothing more unfun than not being able to play the game. I'm ok in mismatches when the queue is instant. I don't how people can bear playing like this. It just makes me want to quit.

When will you be implementing the re-worked MMR system? I play solo survivor, and im getting pretty tired of seeing killers constantly getting 4k on the entire team. 99% of my games end up with all survivors dead... So ridiculous. Wish i ha these magical SWF on my team i keep hearing about.
They're not on your team because they're playing in four man groups... These are the SWFs that destroy people.
-
Neither
Pain Res/DMS is way better than either.
-
I've never understood why people say the killer shouldn't tunnel. Survivors go all out to win but the killer should handicap himself? This logic is peak survivor entitlement. An average survivor team at high MMR is loaded with circle, dstrike, bt, dead hard, unbreakable, etc. Killers have to do something to get an edge. The reality is tunneling is often the best play for the killer to make. When you play nice all you do is earn yourself a nice teabag at the gate. No one is grateful for your nice guy playstyle so you might as well go all out for the win.
