lol it's no wonder so many people struggle at solo survivor when they're running actual junk.
-
I would have been way happier if they'd gone some sort of Leatherface/Hilbilly/Wesker direct attack route but I guess at least we'll have one more killer that doesn't eat dirt on the farm maps so that's nice.
-
A year ago I was very heavily killer and got frustrated and put the game down for months. Since coming back I basically go wherever the point bonus is and actually lean towards survivor if I'm just in the mood for fun. All-time it's probably something like 60-40 to Killer because of that.
Killer is far more stressful and you feel the full brunt of all the garbage behaviour way more so honestly I prefer survivor at this point.

Time is relative.

I think it's pretty clear OP has no desire to learn anything and simply wants to argue.

be careful since if the survivor has already started the vaulting/dropping animation (even for just 0.1 seconds) they will finish the animation even when you shock them
I don't use it so much expecting to disrupt them as I do just for gaining free madness levels

THE BOX
YOUUUUUUU OPENENED IT

We, the people, demand The Snail
-
Got to put some more survivor buffs live amirite
-
Learn to time shocking people just as they vault and/or drop pallets, it's free real estate.

I haven't streamed in a while but I'm having some improvements to my internet at the end of the month (at least that's what the ISP promises me, and they never lie) and there's a chance I'll try again after that.
-
I honestly think for the amount there is to keep track of in this game, the development team do a generally excellent job.
They're wrong about flashlights. They screw up on perks now and again. But nothing's perfect.
On the whole I actually think this game is in exceptional shape compared to most PVP games and I honestly find the most tiring thing about the game is the online community being so negative.
-
The funniest is when they teabag the Deathslinger and get hooked. Almost makes being around their nonsense worth it.
-
Meyers is weird in that people say he's weak and yet really top Meyers players are goddamn terrifying. That tiny terror radius jump scares me daily lol
I think Freddy is more dull than actually bad, though his dream traps really should do... something. I don't really think he's as far away as some people seem to think, though I agree he needs a nudge.
-
I'm against anything that splits the playerbase sigificantly.
I don't want to sit in lobbys for 5 minutes plus. Sure once it's a minor inconvienence. But 200 times it's a reason I stop playing your game. It sucks in Apex, it sucks extra hard in Overwatch, and it would suck here too.
Absolutely no.

I highly recommend taking advantage of the fact you do have the option to run 3 different loadouts on one killer to at least give yourself a quick swap where you can dump the perk you're in love with the least for Lightborn.
If you see a team with 3 or 4 flashlights and walk into that without it, you kind of deserve what you get at this point. It's clear they're never going to take away the Epilepsy Gun so just work with what you've got.

I've honestly never even understood the problem some people have with solo survivor. Run Kindred so you can see what's going on and either Blast Mine or Wire Tap to let teammates know where the gens are. If Kindred hasn't come up yet just run Bond it's fine in the meantime. If you haven't got Dwight up to prestige 3 yet, lol, your opinion doesn't matter. So many of the problems in solo spawn from people picking really stupid perks that do nothing to help the team communicate. You don't need 4 of them (I actually try to run at least 2 of a character's personal perks just to give the game some actual flavour) but even 1 goes a long way. Help yourself.
It's honestly not that hard? I dunno. People complain about it all the time but to me playing in a team coordinating everything they do would be so absurdely easy I can't imagine enjoying it for more than a game or two.
Solo survivor has gotten better significantly since the 6th anniversary (I took a break a few months after that until recently) and it's not even close. Lots of quality games unless you just play bad and pick useless perks that don't help in solo. I have never played in any coordinated survivor team, I have never played a single game using discord voice chat (lol, imagine not winning every game 4-0 doing that, I think players caught doing it should be banned outright but that's a different thread).
The whining about solo Q being too hard ranks about the same for me as people calling the killer walking forward "tunneling". Mass hysteria about nothing.
-
I think some people are conflating "annoying" and "good".
We went through this for ages with Legion discussions. Legion was never really top tier but it just wasn't fun to play against. Wraith isn't quite there, I'm not sure anything ever will be, but there's definitely been an uptick in zero effort Wraith trolls that are super dedicated to making games as boring as humanly possible. That is fair.
I actually think that's really unfortunate because if you were brand new to the game and just trying to learn maps as a killer, I think Wraith is actually a fine beginner choice assuming you actually intend to do more than hook camp.
-
I genuinely don't understand the love for this perk. I find it makes my screen very cluttered and makes it harder for me to focus. If anything I find running it a detriment.
If people want to waste a perk slot on a perk that does, effectively, nothing, good. If people find it useful, good.
It's not even on my radar of potential issues. I don't personally like it, but some people do and perks are allowed to be useful. "Nerf everything until nothing is good" isn't a design philosophy that interests me.
-
I only play Nurse for laughs because despite playing this game all the time I seem to be the one person that absolutely cannot get the hang of blinking, so I basically use her as my rare "I feel like being nice" killer.
-
You have to check perks post match now and even then good luck getting your reporting to mean anything.
-
I've always had a soft spot for the Clown. Is he high tier? No, not really. But I just like his design as a gross, unlikeable, "please don't touch me that's weird", evil clown of nightmares. He's great in his own disgusting way.
I'm one of only 2 people in 500 hours I've seen running the black metal Jeff skin. The nature of survivor persks being interchageable means almost everyone outside of the most popular ones gets left behind every release or two, though I'm sure Nick Cage will stick around a bit just for the memes.
-
Ghostface is the strongest killer in the game lol
-
i honestly feek that using the Singularity's power is just openly slower than walking up to people and punching them, as far as killing power goes.
The weird little nodes he sticks on the wall should honestly just auto target without you having to select them, and even then he'd be a B tier killer at best so I don't want to hear the whining.
The Oni is so far in the bottom tier he actually fell through and found a new hole underneath that.
-
Parts of the building are so dark I honestly feel like somehow a light source got deleted between two versions and somehow it never got caught so now it's just a thing.
-
Nurse might actually be my worst killer. Other people make it look like the God of death and I make it look like a monkey riding a tricycle lol.

Perhaps try a new killer and work your way up again?
I actually rotate through most of the killers. I'm not sure how much difference it really makes after a certain point.
-
Yeah the only hexes I run are ones that mess with people who cleanse them because the other ones are basically a blank perk spot way too often. I don't understand why killers can't respawn hexes somehow. Maybe a mechanic where if you get a kill, you get a hex respawn token? I don't know, just thowing that out there.
-
Negative Mither
-
I don't camp.
"Tunneling" needs clearer definitions as 99.9% of tunneling whining boils down to "the killer walked forward and I think that's unfair".
-
It sure seems, whether for good or bad, the game has reached the stage where so many changes are being made that it's painfully obvious they should have just made a sequel but they know they'll lose more players that way, so we're stuck with having DBD2 shoehorned into DBD1.
Crusader Kings II Syndrome.

there are a bunch of weird takes on killer and perk in this post
especially wraith being one of the strongest while oni being weak lmao
with more hours put into the game tho you'll get a better perspective on where everything stands.
but some points are pretty accurate tho.
I don't think Wraith is top tier so much as he is easy to learn and play which is why I say he makes a good beginner pick.
-
There is absolutely nothing fun about playing either as or against Legion, especially against. I know it's already been reworked but Legion sucks, a lot, and needs another rework.
-
Interesting concept but clearly people aren't interested in the current form. Gross design, not a fan.
-
200 points is 200 points you can't stop me
-
"I stopped using the self healing perk and my escape rate went way up because I'm playing the game now"
I admit it's not very catchy but it is accurate.
-
I am very bad at FPS games but I enjoy the concept of the Deathslinger a lot.
I will also say there might be nothing more satisfying in the game than a survivor teabagging you and forgetting you can hook them at a distance. Whoopsie.
-
Not quite ragequit stuff but I just had a crummy experience and I want to vent just for my own sake. Had a long 15 minute+ stretch as killer where I had 2 of those games where it fails to load properly because someone disconneced during loading. Then after 15 mins of nothing but wait times I finally get in the game to find not one, but TWO AFK survivors. So basically 25 minutes of time without a single proper match. Very frustrating.
-
I don't understand the number of people that feel the need to either twist these stats into something the company never claimed they said, or people who just outright claim the stats are a lie (lol). Why do so many of you play a game that drives you this crazy?
-
Current Survivor, I don't have a lot of friends and I play strictly solo.
- Situational Awareness (I know Kindred is generally preferred but as I said in another thread this often has got me extra escapes)
- Prove Thyself (Obvious Situational Awareness combo)
- Lithe (the only sprint perk I have unlocked for everyone)
- Usually something character specific. I have played a ton of Rebecca Chambers lately so it's usually been Reassurance
Killer I tend to run far more varied, themed builds. The most common thing I run is an Iron Grasp/Scourge Hook: Flood of Rage combo but even then I'm not running it for everyone. I'd call Leatherface my main and I run:
- BBQ & Chilli (It's still good without the points bonus, just not top level)
- Iron Grasp (it combos great with all the hook perks)
- Scourge Hook: Flood of Rage (I know this isn't the most preferred one in the meta but I find the extra info super useful)
- No Way Out (I've expermimented with a few different things in the fourth slot and this is the current one. Nasty, uncounterable perk)
-
I hate this perk so much. Last thing I want is extra screen clutter.
-
My take on it is that both the killer and survivor side are here to "entertain" the entitiy. That's the goal of the scoring system if you look at it; survivors that play super cautious and don't engage with the killer or other survivors score less even if they survive. Killers that just camp a kill while ignoring gens score less because it's boring to the entity (and to us, but that's for a different forum).
The Entity is, in my opinion, a very messed up evil being that is more or less treating us all like we're toys in the sandbox.
-
Great game. It has some flaws of course but the amount of whining about it online is laughable. I play it every day and it's for the most part an enjoyable way to unwind.
-
I got top rank for killer and Irridescent 3 for survivor, which is my new personal best (I've only played for 3 months and I only play solo Q), congrats on hitting top/top the survivor one is definitely a challenge!
-
I actually have been running Situational Awareness over Kindred in solo Q (I have no friends, ha), and there's absoltuely no doubt my results have improved even though it's a perk that does "less", the one thing it does it does really well. Getting other people's attention about repairing a gen in solo Q can be the difference between wins and losses.
Not saying Kindred isn't good too, but Situational Awareness is ludicrously underplayed.
