Corection: I was thinking more about it and my opinion kinda changed. The rest of the exhaustion perks are fine Mostly. But Sprint burst, lithe and vigil needs changes thats all so that they will not be autopilot perks and actually being an reward for doing certain actions.
-
I just wanted to say my opinion thats all.

This is a very killer sided post.
Sprint burst while it is annoying af to me when I play killer does have a pretty big downside. You have to walk everywhere. Doing so costs the survivor a LOT of time over the course of the game. Once it's out of the way you know it won't come up again during chase.
Lithe is definitely the easiest exhaustion perk to trigger, but do I think it's unbalanced? Not particularly. Triggering on your fast vault in a chase means you gain time at the start of a chase just like sprint burst, usually all it does is help ensure you make it to the next tile.
Exhaustion Perks are pretty necessary for survs to make a decent start in a chase. But they are all one shots as a rule (beyond using a second perk slot to remove exhaustion) Plus they can be countered by running exhaustion perks like mind breaker etc.
Also smash hit isn't really a skill thing. Pallet stuns are usually more about how the killer plays, and overcome is already the weakest exhaustion perk. Idk why that one in particular needs nerfing into even more uselessness.
thing is its not about how good they are but more like the gameplay as a survivor is stale with those perks and get literally big speed boost for nothing while killers have to to something ( i am reffering to the weaker one without a real mobbility). You can use sprint burst whenever you want you will get it quickly, lithe the same thing as SB (sprint burst), overcome is not useless people are just not using it but getting a speed boost for getting punished (getting hit) its kinda a weird balance decision. smash hit literally needs a skill to get the most stuns as possible plus predicting a killer movement is a skill. The main thing that i tried to say is that the survivor could be more lively by not just pressing a button and getting benefits without any requirements.

I don't like facing SB, but it's balanced the way it is. I just want Vigil changed to not affect exhaustion.
good point about vigil

then let ask this: how about m1 killers how are they gonna deal with them?

All Exhaustion perks are "just press a button" if you want to boil it down to that.
Sprint Burst requires managing Exhaustion to use effectively, unlike Lithe for example which can be saved until you're in a chase.
Finesse requires you to stay healthy to get maximum use. Which means the better you are at avoiding getting hit, the more Finesse will do for you. New players that get hit in 10 seconds will get next to no use out of it.
but not all exhaustion perks are like that i think that smash hit is a perfectly designed perk but also when you have SP and finesse then its almost without a skill.
-
sprint burst is meta cause literally every single match there is sprint burst and everyone has it.

Nowhere To Hide, Lethal, Pain Res, Grim, DMS require work to activate and get value? Or killer powers with AUTOAIM?
even with that killers still have to chase you

Sprint Burst and Finesse generally require more skill to use well than the average chase perk.
how exactly? you just press a button
-
@ReverseVelocity said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4044786#Comment_4044786
Changing things purely for the sake of changing them isn't a good balance strategy.
i see what you mean but still those are kinda perks that have almost no skill compared to other perks while killers have to do a dirty work
-
@ReverseVelocity said:
I think both can be frustrating to face but I don't think either really need changes.
Finesse is the first good chase perk we've gotten in a while, and it's really fun to use, and pretty balanced with all of the requirements.
I really don't like facing Sprint Burst due to how much you can greed on gens and be safe, but all nerfing Sprint Burst will do is make everyone switch to Lithe, which is arguably equally boring.
They're not overpowered, though. Just very very good.
and they have been a meta for a QUITE some time so they need changes.

Genrushing is now one of the real problems of this game. No matter How many slowdown perks killer brings they always get genrushed. So one of the ideas i had is to just simply add Cap so that the gen speed cannot go overboard (something like 90- 100%… maybe even lower). Next rework hyperfocus and stake out combo cause survivors will not be doing anything just hinding in a terror radius and then get free gen speed progress for what? not helping a team? Next brand new part addon cannot stack on a single gen, perks like weawing spiders or specialist will not be able to stack as well.
Almost fortgot the gen regression after kicking a generator should be faster (not by ultra much but still)

It already is a dash thing. Portals might seem some love but Shred itself is well balanced.
it kinda is but the thing is that compared to other killers his is simple and less effective (i am not saying that its bad but i could argue that his shred is the weakest "dash" attack of all killers)
-
@KingOfDoom55 said:
I feel like the shred should be a dash thing, like you break into a 4 legged sprint and then leap to do the shred attack and it could be a mode or something that can be used when fully charging the abyss but this is only an example, but I like everything else in this rework
glad you like it and yes i agree on your part

What I would like to see.
→ Placing portal is instant and imidiately activates it.
→ When teleporting, loud noise remains but Demogorgon can see auras of all injured survivors.
→ Increase detection rate and oblivious radius around portals to 8m
→ Demo can cycle portals if he has all of them set.
→ Increase undetectable when teleporting to 10s
cool ideas but the one where he sees injured survivors while teleporting is super cool😁👍️and i LOVE IT

Maybe if you spent less time doom-scrolling on YouTube, you'd be less stressed about a proposed update that hasn't even hit PTB yet and may not even hit live
I just wanna say that everything that i am saying is just MY opinion and i am not saying it just because of anyone else on youtube or anywhere else.

They do it because it's abusable. I can't count how many matches where killers slug and tunnel at 5 gens. Now you get punished for it. Gen speeds are fine they were already nerfed. Do better at creating more pressure.
How much was the gen speeds nerfed? because its still riddicilous

Sounds fair.
i am not saying that everything is bad but if you look on anyone from youtube they know what they are talking about for example quietkills or JCglitchmaster. what i meant is that if they want to keep buffing survivors then they should do the same thing for killers they are getting nothing

Maybe I’m just tired from waiting of reworking every role/killer power/perk, so I’m low key against it.
The only thing right now I’m craving for is building meaningful MMR and map rotation, as well as work on bugs and server issues. After this adressing Map RGN issue (it’s still bad, we just got more pallets, but it doesn’t mean dead zone doesn’t exist), and providing solo q some info perks. Only after this I’ll be ready to see another rework or buff/nerf. In the meantime, all our changes represent an attempt to wash toxins out of the river, while an entire factory continues to pour waste into the water. I just don’t want to see it anymore.
i understand

It’s just stating fact. I don’t tell is it right move - to balance game around Blight. But it is what happening now.
For 5th perk - it’s a strategy. You genrush and play in sfw as survivor, or tunnel/camp as killer. To get this effectiveness and result. 10 years of this game, this will never change, because it’s people desire to play like this. And I find it logical.I would be honest, if you are facing actually good survivors even in solo, with new update that changed maps you can’t win without using “unfun” methods on most of the killers. At least it’s what I observe now playing both survivor and killer.
I mean you can fp and still win. The question can you continue to commit this fp against actually good players? Unlikely. But MMR is broken. I can’t be sure am I against good players or lower experience than mine, until 2 gens left or first kill
DBD is a game of contrasts. If you're playing as a survivor and your teammate dies at four gens, you realize it all and are forced to gen rush. It's the same with a killer: if you have one stage on each player and two gens remain without good 3gen, you often realize that continuing the same pace of play will result in a gg.Your fifth perk is to be able to properly pressure the map from the start regardless of your role. And yes, if you want high results on killer - you either playing S tier, or playing specific A/B killer and master them until in your hands it won't start to shine like an S tier. Or stay on mid, you still can get high KR there
Killers with high mobility can you provide this so called 5th slot, because they base kit tool for pressureActually Beautifuly said i really do like your opinion but then the one think they need to do is worse killers around the same level as you mentioned not S but definetly A or B tier
-
@tes said:
They started to balance gameplay around S tier killers. It’s just will get worse over time, I’m pretty sure
But your 5th perk is tunneling or everything else. Don’t listen other people, just play the game effectively on both sides
but think about the other killers not just s tier they need to do something also why do you think that the 5th perk slot is tunneling or everything else ? what do you mean by that? i just wanna know.

Myers having a dash isn't that different from how he's had an extended lunge all these years. "Bring back exposed" is just a nerf, which you can apply yourself with an add-on…i was mainly refering to jason"S shift abillity from friday the 13th the game the only reason why i mentioned spirit is because her power is similiar but myers could work difrently maybe in a way that even though he could see you but cannot spawn on top of them

Yup agreed, honestly i think they should keep the mode switching the way it is rn, same w the stalking amount etc, but instead of the dash he gets his previous exposed stuff back, and when u stalk someone u have another bar filling up which is that shifting power u mentioned, so basecally by stalking u get access to both, but the shifting isnt restricted by the timer instead its restricted by how much u stalk.
ohh I ABSOLUTLY LOVE YOUR IDEA i haven"T thought about it like that. plus i hope demogrogon gets buffs cause he is getting powercrept

not really it doesnt go over the loop so it isnt the same type of anti loop wich imo shoudnt warrent destroyable teleports
Third remove survivors to destroy portals and instead give demo the abillity to create a new by replacing the oldest portal.
they/you literally did
ohh sorry for some reason instead of an portals i thought that you were talking about shred cause i saw "destroy" and thought of pallets. MY BAD

@AcesSpeedo said:

destroying portals is literally a core aspect of stranger things, it wouldn't make sense to remove it. lore and all.
yeah no one said that it should be removed but it should be improved
-
@AdamZ said:
Imo there is only a couple stuff that needs buffing for demo to be good:
Portals:
Increase portal removal time for survivors by at least 5-8 sec, imo it takes very little time for survivors to remove em, compared to how much time it takes for the killer to set up.
Increase the detection range by a couple meters like 4-6 meters, bc the only way u can get info from the portals is if u put them right besides gens.
Make coming out of portals silent, or the map wide audio whe he is teleporting, there is no reason to have both.
Survivors could also get exhaustion while removing the portals and it would linger a lil.
Shred:
when u use shred and miss or break a pallet/breakable wall the camera locks in place, which is just stupid, considering every other killer with a better antiloop doesnt get the same punishment even tho demo has the weakest chase power.
Increase the distance of shred by 4 meters.
Decrease shred miss cooldown.
I went w these changes bc i wanted to make the portals more rewarding, while also keeping the whole setup style gameplay for demo, i also seen some auggestions that he should have a couple portals already on the map but i dont think thats a good idea cause we already have that w xeno.
I also think the shred is too punishing for how weak it is compared to other antiloop powers.
And an addon pass obv.
I have to absolutly agree those are wonderful ideas. Personally i would just remove the sound cue whenever demo is teleporting but other than that i like your ideas a lot👍️

yes but those 2 have mobility in the traditional sense. demo does not. It has just has 1 dash that if missed incurs a massive penalty especially when htting a wall
true compare to other killers demo is more punished than any other killers

Do you think, that Trapper is a viable killer atm?
not really he is definetly weak if not the weakest we can all agree on that, but to me trapper is least forgotten compare to demogorgon. Not to mention he is one of the least played killers ever compared to trapper but trapper definetly needs more while demo can be fine with just some buffs and QOL changes while trapper needs more then just buffs
-
@Wolf65 said:
I think the Trapper deserves some love first.
yes the trappper definetly needs big adjustments but i feel like demo dindn"T got a lot of changes unlike trapper so i think he could wait but i understand
-
@Emeal said:
I would hope when it comes to Demogorgon, we can agree he should have at least what Springtrap has when it comes to stealth after exiting his hole. Especially because of all the hoops and problems he has to go through for teleporting. Let me list them:
1. Survivors can destroy them. 2. It takes time to setup. 3. there is a huge map wide sound effect warning that hes is teleporting.Easy change: Demogorgon gets 20 seconds of Undetectable after Traversing the Upside Down. (Just like Springtrap.)
This would easily being Demogorgon up to match a Killer released recently and also be satisfying to play until BHVR can get a proper look at all the different outdated parts of Demogorgon. As a quickfix while we wait for better fixes, because the more pleasant wait-time the better for us players.
not a bad idea but to me 20 might be a bit too much i would rather just get rid of the sound cue for survivors but not a bad take

I would first revert the changes from the PTB.
- Opacity is back at 33%.
- Cloud size is back to 10 meters.
- Sounds are no longer muffled, droning/ambient sound made quieter.
Then, one singular thing:
- Footsteps are still muffled.
And honestly? Most of the issues would be solved.
interesting but i would be really like to see the cooldown being removed at least and be one use

I do agree. We do need more consistent bug patches. It’s becoming a big issue in this game. Thankfully I think BHVR sees that and knows it. It wouldn’t shock me one bit if they already have plans to improve this part of the game, which they should.
They did mention in the operation health/Qol initiative that this was one of their goals.
I still think we need less chapters this year so we can get to all of this stuff. I would rather focus on the game itself than new chapter after new chapter after new chapter.I ABSOLUTLY AGREE

Play testing has nothing to do with what is happening right now. Play testing only solves the issues they are dealing with when it’s on the public test server or prior to that. They apply fixes.
On the public test server it wasn’t crazy or messy..
When it hits the live server, that’s when things go wrong. Not all the time but sometimes. It’s like I mentioned earlier on a different threat. That’s part of putting a new content, things are going to break. There’s nothing you can do about that. If you want new content, expect things to break when it hits. That’s part of having a live service game.However that’s also why it’s extremely important make sure that we are doing more consistent fixes for a better gaming experience.
This is something we need to upgrade with our team I believe, to ensure better and faster fixes for issuesI can see what you mean and i understand that developing a game is NOT an easy task. I just wish that there would be more bugfix patches.

also when he pounces and misses the camera gets locked for no reason i think they should remove that + the reason why is kinda forgotten is becasue he is too forgiving compare to other killers. we will have to see but i hope gets more. He really needs it
-
good point and i understand your opinion but (to me at least) he feels kinda forgotten and would be really nice to make him a bit better overall since newer killers have similiar aspects to demogorgon but just better. He needs a bit extra. Not much but at least addon rework + making some of them basekit, making portals more useful and a little bit faster just to be more different from other killers.
