I'm considering to entirely remove DH from my build for SB. I love it, even if sometimes it's quite frustrating to burn it at the start of the match to meet the Killer two seconds later. 🙈

true thats always a pain in the butt, but thats the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.

  • i dont run dh personally, i use sb. that being said if i had to choose one id still use sb i reckon. i find it very useful if i just so happen to be caught off gaurd, i like that i can 99 my exhaustion and hold my sb in the pocket. but most importantly i like that no zone is a dead zone if sb is used correctly.

  • yes, depending on circumstances of course

I don’t think he’s OP, I do find a lot of Wraith matches pretty competitive yet mostly fun. My only issue is his pick rate. I don’t know if it’s confirmation bias but I find myself going against him a lot. Plus he has a pretty consistent and unique play style. So those once competitive yet fun matches start to feel tiring.

i personally dont think he is op either, some of his addons are strong yes. but you can still easily see/ hear him coming, he will get that first hit basically for free thats unavoidable. but if you are smart about using your windows/ pallets he is easily beatable.

  • if they initiated the sandbagging then you are in your right to sandbag back in my personal opinion. that being said the working with the killer thing is meant for you being the killer and im survivor, you see me and i lead you to my team, and then you kill them all and let me leave, that is the working with the killer thats bannable.

  • honestly i cant think of many outside of non meta perks to make them more appealing, that and maybe something like bt removes your collision so you cant bodyblock your buddy so he can get away as well.

  • @EvilJoshy said:

In this game, people will hate you no matter what. So play however you want.

people will hate you just to hate you dude like this guy says, run what you want, play how you want. that being said dont expect your oppo to show you mercy at all this is a game where typically if one side is having fun the other isnt, its just the nature of this kind of game.

Yeah but there are benefits that premonition has over spine chill that I perfer

fair enough, it is very nice for training you to look around you constantly that is true.

  • it would seem so yes, honestly in my opinion though spine chill is superior if you want a detection perk.

  • generally i try not to let ######### like that bother me, but on occasion i will do something like this. but they have to really piss me off so much that i am willing to throw the game just to see them die.

  • i reserve my right to suicide on the hook if the whole rest of my team is on death hook and the only gen that popped is one i did. if you try to take that away what even is the point of a video game? its crappy when it happens, yes, but the simple truth is there is nothing realistically that can be done. if a system is put in place to stop this, it would only punish legitimate players that just got tunneled to death, so not only did they not get to have any fun in the game, now they have to wait 5 mins before they can even try to redeem it.

  • it is not, basement bubba has been a thing for years.

  • @DragonMasterDarren said:

I 100% understand why most survivors run it, I have gotten out of many different situations I wouldn’t have been able to otherwise (pallet camping while injured, misdirecting the killer or outright losing them, hiding in cubbies, etc)

this isn’t even a post complaining about how strong it is, now that I’ve played with IW I have actually been able to deal with IW easier in my killer matches since I already know where they might be going and know what sort of tricks a IW user might try and pull

So yeah, if you struggle against Iron Will, play with it a bit and see what sort of tricks commonly work, I can guarantee it’ll make games a bit easier for you

    @Shaped said:

I find it even more strong with sb even tho that probably doesn't make sense to some.

I can get a lot of distance then walk to hide scratchmarks and confuse the killer.

iron will is great for doing these kinds of jukes and it pairs very will with sb can confirm

  • also did i claim to be a developer? because i dont remember doing so, those are words you are shoving onto me, since it seems to be a heady concept ill elaborate. since killers go out of their way to tunnel down a survivor for an easier game, why should i not be able to use every single anti-tunnel perk that exists to make it harder for you.

What a self-centered take. It's our job to kill you, not play patty cake. You have a horde of anti tunnel and altruistic perks already, excuse me if I want the most powerful one to have a bit of counterplay

well i mean, i want to be able to play the game, so it seems like neither of us get what we want.

Newsflash, it's not our job to make your game fun at our expense

also newsflash, why the hell should it be made easier for you to ruin someones game experience?

Wait wait wait, i might misunderstand something here but, how is it tunneling when the killer goes for the unhooker instead of the unhooked?

i think its an esl (english second language) thing i think they meant the unhooked.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2454563#Comment_2454563

I use it only as a defense against tunneling and camping. I dont go for unsafe Unhooks unless it is necessary (Killer is camping and the person is about to die or reach second stage).

So if all Killers would stop doing that you will have at least one person who will not run BT anymore. :] But we all know that Killers like to tunnel and camp because it is a sTrAtEgY.

personally i would like to have that perk slot back, i second this.

No it isn't running right back to hook to get a target more easily is tunneling. It's a simple concept.

sadly it seems like he is one of those people you will never be able to reason with, this game seems to have alot of them.

  • @Jasix said:

Play how you want... not sure why killers or survivors feel they need validation for how they play from people on the forums. If it is not against the rules...do it.

I don't tunnel or camp, but hey - you paid for the game so play how you want. Use whatever perks you want.

BUT don't be a hypocrite when survivors teabag, clicky clicky clicky, use keys, use "meta" perks, etc. Either everything in game is fair use... or you're being hypocritical. I all too often see "mains" complain about one strategy/action from the other side while asking for others to justify their actions... survivor mains will complain about tunneling for example - it's a valid strat... killer mains complain about survivors holding w - it's a valid strat. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it shouldn't be done/used etc. I'm not saying YOU do.. just get tired of these "validate me" posts and then seeing the person complaining about the way others play.

i agree entirely, i do complain sometimes but i only voice these things if they are being toxic to me first. saying like gg ez and #########, its like bruh you got one hook before noed activated try not to felatiate your skills to hard there.

  • yes spirits is another word for alchohol, particularly hard alchohol

  • i personally dont mind meta perks, just ignore them dude, the majority of the time its just salt that they lost anyways, or its a toxic streamer telling you in front of a group of people that you are basically trash because you use iron will sb. stupid ass ######### regardless considering that guy was also using iron will, but its not a crutch meta perk when he uses it oddly enough.

  • well, its also annoying having some asshat follow you around to kill you off so he has an easier game. if you go out of your way to do that, why should i go out of my way to pull punches because you dont like them?

  • @Slaughterhouse3 said:

Why am I slowly losing interest? The annoying hellraiser memes? The toxic community? Bored of the same gameplay? Anyone else feeling any of these things or am I just getting bored from playing too much in the past? I don't intend this to be a leave post either lol I still love the game itself.

as much of a meme in the community as it is, taking regular breaks and playing other games helps with this.

  • @INFECTEDMANIAC said:

To anyone reading this when was the last time a survivor made the game fun for the killer? Why is it only the killers job to make sure the survivor has fun, but not the survivors job to make sure the killer has fun?

i genuinely do try to make sure the killer has fun, i dont know about others but in my opinion a good challenging chase is the most fun part of this game. its like a back and forth between two consciousnesses that pushes them both to do their best, and i love that about this game, unironically i love a good chase because everything else in the game is just so braindead.

  • for the record not all of us are like that, its truly unfortunate the way people treat others in this game sometimes. even compared to other games, in other games even like dota ive never had someone say something as toxic as "i hope you get to watch your children die of cancer because you cant afford to treat them." sadly this game attracts those kinds of people.

  • id rather be facecamped than this ######### that killers do where they go away and come right back and just tunnel you to death for no reason, especially when ive not done anything to the person.

  • @jajay119 said:

Why do survivors try to unhook other survivors when the killer is still either very near or right there? It seems to be happening a lot lately and you can't even blame killers for taking the easy downs. Is there some technique here I'm missing because it's infuriating to get three people downed when it was avoidable.

i can't speak as to why others do it but if you are about to go into the next stage i will often pull and take the down. is it #########, sure but whats even more ######### is dying first hook because no one even tried for you because they need to make sure the grass is the same color all throughout the map

  • @Kira4Evr said:

DC the First game, 5 minutes penalty

DC the Second game, 10 minutes penalty

DC the Third game, PERMANENT BAN!

and in my opinion this is an even worse version of op's idea.

  • i also think this would be a terrible idea, especially in this most recent patch where i seem to get like 6 hour timer logged in the middle of a game where i was about to start running a lf. that guy definitley thinks i dced on purpose but i got that session timeout #########, im only here because i have to burn five minutes while i wait that ######### out anyways. all it would do is discourage people from ever coming back to this game in my opinion.

That just opens for an entirely new way for survivors to screw other survivors over though.

The last survivor didn't try to save them when it's a bad move to even try to do so in every way imaginable? DC so they can't get hatch. Last survivor had absolutely no influence on the disconnecting survivor's decision and isn't responsible for it whatsoever, the only way they can possibly safeguard themselves from that happening is to never play survivor outside of a 4man SWF again.

to hear some certain people talk thats all they fight anyways. memes aside i agree this could open up more problems.

  • the dc penalty is sufficient punishment enough in my opinion. its always boring getting to just sit there until you die though. thats why i never slug for the 4k its terribly boring and about 80% of the time i find the hatch first anyways so who really cares. i think people forget this is just a video game sometimes.
