If that can be clasified as an exploit then looping is an exploit since devs have repeatedly mentioned how it was born as something unintentional, as well as any creative way to use a killers power that deviates from using it without any creativity, pig dashes on loop are an exploit, hillbilly curving is an exploit, sadako condemn is an exploit, trapper and demo using their portals/traps to bait people into flashy saves is also an exploit since that is not the intendednpurpose of the power.

I hate skull merchants 3 gen as much as the next guy but this is an awfull way to define exploit, or a good one if you wanna consider any interesting way of playing to be exploiting.

the difference is looping doesnt result in an automatic win in the pregame lobby, its completely dependent on your abilities as a player. kicking gens and refusing to take part in normal gameplay so you can get a free win after an hour of tedium has no basis in skill, its something you can select before the game starts. in this scenario you don't even need to try to win. the only counter is you somehow need to break every potential 3 gen in the map in the first 60 seconds of the game, which is just not possible unless you are scripting. if the only counterplay is to download cheats or give up and die on purpose, which isnt even guaranteed they could purposely slug you and pick up and drop til you auto wiggle to hold you even longer, then its an exploit. how do you counter looping? hold w or use your power, both are intended features. how do you counter baiting flashy saves? wait a little longer and pay attention to the animation, both aspects the player has control of. they aren't even comparable, one holds a game hostage until the server times out, the other is something that can be outplayed within 10 seconds.

    Last I checked,

In a PvP game (Player versus Player) you are supposed to try to beat the other player, not babysit them.

If you don't want to actually play the game, then keep memeing and RPing, your MMR will adjust.

yeah but what im saying is killers can just load in as Skull Merchant with a few select perks and do nothing to win, they are not beating the other team in PvP, they are exploiting. You can't beat a cheater under normal circumstances. And yes it is an exploit, because I highly doubt the devs intended for the skull merchant to hold a game for a whole hour.

You're arguing a strawman. There are other ways to interact with survivors than by chasing.

You don't get to tell someone else what is and isn't fun. If my fun means you're bored... ok? And? I'm not here to make the game fun for you. That's the part you don't seem to understand. Again, it's not my job for you to have fun. That's your job.

If trying to break a 3gen isn't fun for you, I get it. But I have just as much right to try and win as you do. Winning is defined, by the devs specifically, as killers killing you. So I'm going to use all my tools at my disposal to do so. If you don't want to fight in a 3 gen, let the killer hook you and move onto the next match. And if you won't do that, then you're just as "bad" as the killer wanting to win. It just makes you a hypocrite at that point.

but then you all complain about dcs when you know you are doing that ######### on purpose. it's intentionally griefing. like why should I have to take a dc penalty or let you bleed me out because you want to make a match 45 minutes long? that's incredibly entitled. you aren't entitled to a 4k because you are abusing flawed game mechanics. killers are the most entitled players because they control the flow of a match and they know it ,so they swing their weewee around talking about how survivors are just there for their entertainment. anyone defending holding the game hostage with exploits is the problem, me wanting to have fun in a game that I paid money for isn't a controversial statement. Games are for everyone to enjoy and being decent in the community earns decency in response. If you want to sit around and do nothing but waste others time for fun then go start a podcast but keep your nonsense away from people who want to play a chill game of dbd after a 10 hour shift at work. Just hook them or at least TRY to chase.

This is why every killer needs to be able to do something real in-chase. The entire idea behind 2nd generation Eruption was to allow the killer to leave the last 3 gens to go on a chase without being completely screwed in the process. You'd prime your 3-gen, then you could take a chance at leaving it and if you succeeded in catching somebody, you'd be rewarded with a game extension long enough for you to get your victim hooked and get on your way again. If the eruption proc got countered by dead hard, you'd just lose.

And then think about how it is right now:

If you're playing killer, what is the point in leaving the last 3 generators to go on an M1 chase against a dead hard user when there are tons of easily chainable pallets and windows? There isn't anything there anymore to encourage you, as a killer, to leave the last 3 gens unless you have a power designed for chasing.

Why do SM players tend to not leave a 3-gen? Because they can only hold W + M1. If you can't do anything real in the chase, what's the point of taking the chase at 1 gen left?

This is not hard to comprehend.

yeah but at that point why play SM when you can play blight or wesker and its just 100x more fun than just camping a gen until the match times out with overcharge cob and like oppression unnerving or jolt erupt or any of the other combos. why do killers sacrifice fun for everyone to win, they are only 20% of the game you shouldnt be able to ruin it for everyone for your stupid ratio in a casual game

Giving by pure random chance -10% progress is NOT fair. Given OC, it can be at least something to debate, because it's not random. But regular skillcheck blowing up when you stop working on a gen is pure BS and totally random buff for killer that he did not earn in any way.

But changing OC skillchecks to work at same random would be game breaking. Consider 3gen and any killer that can rapidly move thru the map. You would be able to choose between free hit (and maybe still failed skillcheck because of hit), or OC regression.

At the current state of regression - this would mean killer can decide to give as a freebie 4 gens to survivors from the very beginning of the game. All he needs to do is to guard his 3gen. And there would be nothing survivors can do. And with eruption, OC, CoB + any random 4th perk, it would be enough to win the game.

Dragon's Grip is that 4th perk, punishing survivors for not letting the gen regress or punishing them for letting it regress.

It's a literal complete waste of time.

Example A: Survivor doesn't use it to spite the killer and make them wait out the entire hook stage.

Example B: You fail (in non-Deliverance example), then you die.

Example C: You succeed, then you jump off. Then get downed. Then get waited out for 60s. Then hooked and killed anyways. And when the Mori update comes, last survivor alive being downed will automatically Mori them.

Deliverance, Sprint Burst/Dead Hard could easily make it work. You can run a killer for a while if you have a nearby pallet or window.

  • survivors don't need a nerf at all. not saying killers do, but the kill rate across the entire game with every killer at all ranks is still like 75%. throw the part of the community that put up with killer's lack of consideration a bone.

  • @ukenicky said:

If it did that it would render the whole purpose of having two exit gates kind of moot: so the killer can't just guard one.

if everyone is healthy would it matter?

The Deep Wound thing, absolutely not. That's an unnecessary nerf that would hurt The Twins more than you think.

I suggest they buff Victor in two ways: Make it so that Killer Instinct highlights all Survivors at any range once a healthy Survivor is pounced on, and second, make it to where instead of making Victor returnable from a Survivor after 30 seconds, make it so that Victor downs the pounced Survivor after 30(?) seconds.

The map-wide radar gives Charlotte the map pressure she needs, and the dying state timer for Victor ensures that cocky Survivors can't just hold onto him, which they still do.

Maybe not killer instinct at any range on a pounce, but what if on a successful pounce, the terror radius is transferred to victor, charlotte gains undetectable, and killer instinct reveals survivors within the terror radius?

  • I'd say she's midtier as is, but probably just needs a rework. Victor needs a longer cooldown after getting crushed, it takes like 3 to five seconds to regrow him with common addons. he should be able to climb over low obstacles to use them as a perch for pouncing, but if he misses a pounce and hits an environmental object then he goes splat, instead of having a timer to crush him on miss. then he should have an upper limit of time where people can control him away from charlotte so people cant just be victor the whole game. finally, deep wound on landing a pounce, but no dying state. you should have to be charlotte to get that. remind me what charlotte's ms is? is it 4.4 or 4.6?

Imagine using Thrill of the Hunt as an example for a perk that's good for locating survivors.

Imagine being so bad you cant locate off thrill of the hunt. You probs have bbq on every killer. Cheese tactic supreme.

literally none of those make you see survivors at "all times" Object obessesion however gives survivor the ability to see the killer as long as they look at you. Another bs

Literally a combo of four of those perks will tell you where all the survivors are. Yes they have criteria. The point I made was when a survivor does anything at all, they get revealed to the killer. That's it. You missed the point and took me literally to make me look stupid. Put on bbq, nurses calling, discordance and any other perk of your choice and there's no hiding. Survivors have to bank on hatch escapes nowadays. like 1 in 10 games I play as killer does the exit gate actually get opened. Survivors need a bone thrown at them not another nerf.

But he already gets punished for almost everything he does, landing a punce on injured Survivor? Can be kicked, missing a punce? Can be kicked again, landing on some barel? Instantly dies if you don't jump down.

If he died when hitting a wall that would be overkill.

The landing on a map object thing could be removed and he could use it as a perch. And to fix the vulnerability on downing someone, why dont survivors go into deep wound while hes grabbing them? Since he can be removed while sprinting, the timer wont go down while removing him unless you are standing still or walking, then it remains to be mended afterward, but he wont be able to put into dying. The timer for kicking on a miss is literally like 1 second. Its too short.

So am i, and there isn't much to back up this "see at all times" perks killers have, you must mean Object of Obsession

Bbq, nurses calling, undying, thrill of the hunt, discordance, iron maiden, deathbound, bitter murmur, territorial imperative, all ears, hoarder, surveillance, etc

  • How is that a buff? After crushing victor, it takes like 5 seconds for him to regrow, it lets people just play victor the whole match cause he has no terror radius and can jump through windows and over pallets. He needs a 20 second regrow at least. And make him go splat if he pounces into a wall. Punishment for missing.

Thank god for it too that broken ######### was so game ruining

  • I am red rank in both survivor and killer, and survivors have been stripped of everything except looping, which is also gradually becoming more inefficient. Killer's have perks that tell you where survivors are at all times when doing anything, and can down people in one hit. At my rank, almost every game ends in 3 or 4 kills. You are just a bad killer.

  • For Killers: They're Getting Away!

Despite your best efforts to please the Entity, it has found you lacking. Against it's better judgement, it intervenes.

When 4 generators have been completed, and you have performed 4 hook actions this trial, yet no survivors have been sacrificed yet, this perk activates.

The Entity is called to block the remaining generators for 40/50/60 seconds. The Obsessions aura is then revealed to you for 5/6/7 seconds.

The Entity's grasp on a generator can be dispelled with a flashlight, however the survivor performing this action will become the Obsession, and their aura will be revealed to you for 5/6/7 seconds.

    For Survivors: Haymaker

Physical pain fills you with an unprecedented anger. Upon being injured, press the active ability button.

When being injured, press the active ability button to sacrifice your on-hit speed boost. Perform an about-face and strike the Killer back, stunning them for 4/5/6 seconds.

Causes the Exhausted status for 60/50/40 seconds.
