Thank you mods and devs for your work on the forums and the game. My daughter and I have enjoyed many hours together playing this game. The end game collapse was so well designed and implemented and truly a work of art. I know its been in awhile I just never got to say great job. I don't know how you guys keep your cool on these forums but I am glad you do. Stay warm and keep up the good work.

Good job devs!
-
@Gcarrara do you think they will be able to implement those features before the end of the year?
-
I have had the same issue on PC since the ST chapter update. All survivor daily changes to killer daily at random.
-
Following dedicated servers, we will shift our focus to a new system to punish disconnects. This new system will feature a growing “lock-out” timer for each time a player disconnects from a match, preventing them from re-queuing until their timer expires. Survive With Friends groups including a player who is currently locked-out will be unable to queue until the lock-out timers for all Survivors in the lobby have expired. The length of the timer gradually decreases so long as the player does not disconnect from additional matches.
This is what was said by the devs on July 5th, Nothing has been said after that so its unknown if its still the plan.

They could make pallet stuns interrupt her blinks, making pallets more viable against Nurse while also increasing the length of chases. Unlikely but it could happen :/
Her blink is more of a teleport than a phase walk, but they have made pallet stuns stronger by putting killers in cool down. Thanks for the reply
-
What minor tweak to her ability will give her counter play? If you remove the fact that she ignores pallets and walls what do you have left? I don't play nurse or any killer that much, just wondering.

The mask looks really good, well done.

Sadly there won't be a summer event this year because our team is focusing on other priorities like the dedicated servers, bug fixing (pips and ranks), archives and more. We want the game health to be at its best before doing another event.
Sounds good. Looking forward to the Halloween event.

Yes for crossplay

Should a Killer disconnect, the match will immediately end, and the remaining Survivors will receive emblem points assuming they had healed and escaped the trial, keeping any items and add-ons they have equipped. Any offerings used will be refunded if the match is cancelled shortly after starting. This is from the Developer update.

How about when you are the last survivor and the killer closes the hatch you see their aura for 5,6,7 seconds.

@Mushin The commodore 64 was my second platform and it was a pretty cool computer. It was expensive so I had to wait to get a job to buy it for myself.
-
@Mushwin Atari console, space invaders. I loved that game

I've been playing video games for over 35 years, RPGs mostly and will be playing till the day I die.

They are having some kind of event starting the 18th.

Determining disconnects
With dedicated servers, all players are connected to one server. If one player loses connection, everyone else will remain connected. This information will help us better identify and punish players who intentionally disconnect going forward.
@JESUS_CHRIST this is what they said abuot telling the difference.
-
@Mr_K That is one of the reasons they are waiting on servers. Fix the DC issue without harming players that are having other issues.

Disconnection handling - Our plan, our actions
Player disconnection is a rampant issue in Dead by Daylight and causes regular frustrations to players. Migrating to Dedicated Servers will give us the opportunity to manage disconnections better. The design for disconnection handling is currently being worked on and we are aiming to launch this feature at the release of dedicated servers. We will share more information on the design itself over the summer.
Until we migrate on dedicated servers, we are left with the way we have been handling disconnections for over a year; by punishing players that are disconnecting more than a definite threshold (% of the games played). In the last few months, the game has been in a state where we had to be more permissive with that threshold because too many players were experiencing crashes and loading issues and we didn’t want to punish players for issues caused by the game. In the last update, we have fixed most of these issues and our threshold is now back to the initial number.

I've only played a couple of hour during the bloodhunt event over the past two months because of all the DCing. I probably won't play again until servers are in and effectively dealing with the DCing issue. I really enjoyed playing but with all the DCing its just a waste of time.
-
If they changed hook bloodpoint gains from static to progressive it would encourage more hooks. For example first hook for the same survivor is worth 500bp second is worth 1000bp third is worth 2000bp.
And for tunneling they could double the bloodpoint gain for hooking a different survivor and increase the chance to pip up with bonuses for hooking all survivors once, and again for hooking all survivors twice.
Rewards are the best option.
-
@Freudentrauma that gun law was a response to a another post and is irrelevant, I also prefer the Shard/Cell system. I think they are trying to make the reward system more visible with quicker rewards to help with the DCing problem. That is just a guess

I was such a potato one game a Huntress felt sorry for me. I almost had a gen completed and I missed three quick skill checks one right after the other. I was laughing so hard I forgot to let go of the button. Two more missed skill checks latter the huntress shows up and hits me in the face with a hatchet, shakes her head and walks a way.
-
disconnecting enough to get 3 soft bans and continuing to do it to get a perma ban is really stupid.
-
@FireHazard Thank you for the explanation and I agree that would not be good.
-
I have the same problem, I've died so many times because of this. Please change it to holding the button instead. Thank you

No, the fact you're pressured INTO buying a limited time skin on a battle pass when you don't want to spend money is bad.
I never said people who don't have money who can't get limited time skins should also have everyone else not be able to get it, if you want to throw your money away than go right ahead its your money. But making others go through a panic because a skin they want will be gone soon is a no, no. And supporting it is exactly what they want you to do.
@FireHazard I don't really understand the pressured part if you would explain It that would be helpful to me. And I personally prefer the shard system.
-
So if you don't have the money to purchase a skin or DLC nobody else should be able to buy it?
If they have a special event with limited time skins and you don't have time to participate then nobody should be able to participate and get the skins?
-
First off mentally handicap people in the USA have the same rights as everyone else which includes purchasing firearms and it is the unstable persons fault if they use it.
Secondly there is already a reward for grinding in the form of shards that you can purchase skins, non licensed DLC, perks and shards from the shrine. If you are against battle passes then why don't you have a problem with shards. And were do you get that there is a powerful psychological trigger, many people in this game and most multiplayer games can't even finish a match without disconnecting for stupid reasons. That's why must games have to put bans and timeouts in the game to keep people from DCing. I personally prefer using shards though.

As an indication, here are the maximum wait times we have recorded during the last 48 hours per platform.
This shows that the new matchmaking system effectively reduces edge cases where some players wait a very long time.
These are the maximum values, note this might change during the day.
- XboxOne: Killer 3 minutes, Survivor 3 minutes - even ratio
- PS4: Killer 1 minute, Survivor 3 minutes - survivor ratio is higher
- PC: Killer 3 minutes, Survivor 1 minutes - killer ratio is higher
- Found this in news under matchmaking.

Hitboxes & Disconnection handling
We know that hit registration and disconnection handling are two of our top issues and we are actively working on those. Migrating to Dedicated Servers will give a better environment and tools to manage disconnections and to improve hit registrations. A multidisciplinary team is working on both features, but they will not be ready for the launch. More information will be released in the next Dev Update.

I believe they care about the game and want it to be great. I enjoyed playing the game and will play again after they get the servers online. I don't understand why they devoted resources to do the Twitch Challenge now but I hope it works out for everyone. Thank you BHVR for making this game and all the hours I played was well worth the money.
-
I like that change and it makes more sense that it helps the person who has it.
-
Someone suggested switching borrowed time to have it activate for the person who has the perk instead of the person unhooking. So if you have borrowed time and someone tries to farm you then at least you have a chance.
-
Thank you for posting this and thank you Pain Killer for making it.
-
Press and hold button sounds great. I accidentally suicide way to much.
-
When I have a bad game I work on a generator in the middle and don't leave it until I get carried away. I also don't look for the hatch unless 3 gens are done and I run instead of sneaking around when I do look for the hatch.
-
The constant dcing has killed this game for me. It happens all the time whenever something happens that the person doesn't like it makes the game unfun for them and they just disconnect. They don't care about the other players and is just another way for them to be toxic. I am hopeful the new servers will help but I'm not sure the dev's see this as an issue and if they don't change the dc percent rate it really won't make a difference.
