Lol, it would be absolutely hilarious the aftermath if survivors and killers earned similar amounts of bp. There is one major factor into why enough people player killer to where queue times aren't overwhelmingly ridiculously long for survivors. And that's because bloodpoint farmers are going to favor the killer side. Hell, even that wasn't enough for a while after the Ruin nerf. Fortunately, a mix of the most recent patch and the new archive launching was enough to saturate the queues with enough killers to where it's not as much of a problem. But I would love nothing more than if killers and survivors made a similar amount of bloodpoints per match. The sudden drop in killers would force devs to take balance a bit more seriously.

If Jason, Freddy, and Myers are all unpopular outside of the US, then which horror icons are popular? And if they're so unpopular then how come I keep seeing references to Freddy and Jason in foreign works?

I WAS referring to the films if you read my comment. How do you think Jason walked under water and track them to NY? It's called SENSE. F13 the GAME just implemented it in the way they did because you control Jason, and it's a game. How do you think Jason always finds everyone in his movies? No one can hide. And the entity couldn't control Jason unless somehow they tied it in to it tricking him like Freddy did and making him believe it's his mother, but that can't happen over the lawsuit. No one can control Jason but his mother. That's why the lore doesn't fit. If your gonna bring in an iconic character, you can't f his backstory/lore up just to fit your game. It kinda ruins said character.
Jason having an unhealthy obsession with the voice of his dead mother in his head isn't of Victor Miller's writing. If they just refer to the voice as an unnamed mother, there wouldn't be any claim Miller could make about that.

The point is they WERE human until they became this. Literally that's their ENTIRE lore is that they WERE a human but after either a tragedy or them going on a murder spree (hi nurse) they became a monster with supernatural ability.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1290626#Comment_1290626
Oh my god.
It's clear you won't change because you don't have a clear understanding of implicit information but oh well.
Freddy, Michael, Ash- they're all liscened and come from a different universe. We know the Entity can reach across all of these universes.
What we also know though, is that all non-liscened characters were supposed to be from OUR world, the ones without floating spirits and evil people made of wood who go invisible (funnily enough).
Please, I beg of you, find me an example of a real life The Nurse or a The Wraith, or a The Spirit, or anyone really.
Wow, I can only imagine the kind of self-dellusion required to simultaenously say that the killers are from our world and then say our world doesn't have floating spirits and people make of wood who go invisible. The fact that you can say something so evidently self-contradicting and pretend you're right is amazing in all the wrong ways.
You've been making erroneous claims saying that the lore stats the entity alters killers without providing any evidence. I would have loved to provide direct evidence myself, but the only evidence I can provide that something doesn't exist is to say look at everything and you can see it doesn't exist. Of course you blatantly refuse to do that. However, you finally said something that actually has evidence to contradict it. You're now claiming that all non licensed killers come from the same realm (and for some mad reason claiming they come from the one we exist in), but the tomes imply otherwise:
from The Entity logs Arcus 54
It seems to contain swirls and streams of memories or imprints of beings from multiple terra worlds.
from The Entity logs Arcus 142
At least the Archives affords me a better understanding of the Entity... why it moves from universe to universe, picking victims off and devouring worlds as though at a cosmic buffet.
from The Entity logs Arcus 557
The distinct observation in the specimens chosen by The Entity is that they all come from worlds that have failed to understand the metaphysical relationships between their thoughts and the world they live in.
from Observations logs Arcus 293
In a twisted way I think what I'm admitting is that I'm glad the Entity takes what it wants when it wants from the omniverse
from Revelations logs Arcus 1032
Jumbled experiences of brutal killers and weird rituals of godless brutes from worlds too dark to care.
Btw, it's supposed to be the person claiming something exists that's supposed to be providing evidence rather than the person saying it doesn't exist. But sadly, I'm the one who has actually provided evidence even though it's y'all who keep saying the lore states the entity alters killers but refuse to provide any evidence of it.

Oh dear you're thick.
These killers were human. Now they're not human. Either there's some other deity out there changing them or- shock horror, I know- it was the Entity.
Now I can see you've got access to the lore (very good you can use the Internet) so you can see, with your own eyes, that these killers were human. The Trapper was a man, wraith was an immigrant worker, hag was a young girl, etc etc. How do these people go from humans to actual, literal monsters, if there's no Entity involvement.
The sad part is you actually answered your own question but you're just too close minded to realize it. YES, there is other things out there that can turn humans inhuman. That's completely obvious by Freddy, Ash, and Myers. Actually, saying there's other things out there that can turn humans inhuman might be a bit inaccurate cause there's currently no account anywhere in the lore of the entity itself turning any humans into monsters. The lore we've been given about the entity is that it collects survivors and killers for it's endless game of life and death so it can feed off the hope of survivors. The closest thing we have to it altering anybody is the pustels from the Halloween events that come from the entity that Vigo or somebody used to inject into the monsters and turn them into orange puss dripping messes.

Rofl. It does not have to be an all-or-nothing.
The Entity took super-powered Killers like Freddy and Demo, but it also GAVE power to mere humans with the urge to kill. or are you going to claim normal humans can channel electricity (Doc)? Normal humans can use sighs in mud to teleport (Hag)? Normal humans can ring a bell to go invisible (Wraith)?
Keep in mind; those NORMAL HUMANS-turned-Killers are supposed to be from 'the real world', so to speak; OUR world. Wraith was a normal human at an auto wrecking yard, for example. He could not go invisible until the Entity took him. THE ENTITY GAVE HIM THE POWER.
The only reason to claim it HAS to be everyone or no one is to cling to your false statement that 'the Entity does not change people'.
It does. You're wrong. Deal with it. 🙃
The Entity took super powered killers like Doctor, Oni, and Wraith, but there's absolutely no indication it gave power to mere humans. Are you going to claim there's anything to support that theory in the lore? Are you going to claim that normal humans can hurt people in dreams while being invincible? Normal humans can survive immolation and point blank explosions? Normal humans can shrug off impalement?
Keep in mind, those NORMAL HUMANS-turned Killers are supposed to be from "the real world", so to speak; OUR world. Freddy was a normal human who died in a boiler room, for example.
The only reason to claim that entity has to be altering killers is to cling to your false statement that "the Entitle altered the killers".
It doesn't. You're wrong. Deal with it.

Because forcing 4 people into 1 body (Legion) is totally NOT something the Entity did, huh?
The Entity twists and warps it's Killers; look at the ######### Wraith; he does not even look HUMAN anymore. Same with Hag. Are you saying that's NORMAL? That was the Entity.
Rin is a gods damned GHOST who's bodyparts aren't attached; the Entity CHANGING her again. Also, she can phase through space. Entity.
The Doctor can channel electricity; no human can do that. That's the Entity changing him.
Christ, you have to ignore reality to think the Entity did not alter these people to have supernatural powers. Or just be really, really ######### stupid.
The entity didn't do any of that. Or are you also going to claim that the entity turned Freddy into a dream demon? Are you going to claim that the entity made Myers an unstoppable stalker? Are you going to claim that the entity made the demogorgon an inhuman monster that travels through an alternate dimension. All the entity did was take survivors and killers from other realms to play an endless game of life and death. What happened to them in their own realms wasn't the entity's doing or BHVR would be have a freaking field day raking in on the cash from the Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Stranger Thing franchises.

Evan Macmillian was a normal man who liked art and had an abusive father, according to Tome 1 of the Archives. When he snapped and killed the workers, he was taken by the Entity and forced to kill. He was gifted with super strength. However, he didn't want to kill, and so the Entity forced metal through his body. Hence, he was altered by the Entity.
Phillip Ojomo was a normal immigrant worker, who also didn't want to kill anyone. His boss (Azarov) was forcing him to kill people unwillingly, and when he discovered this he was overcome with grief. The Entity entered his mind and changed his perspective, forcing him to kill Azarov and the survivors. Hence, he was altered by the Entity. Also, normal people don't growl or are made from bark.
The Nurse (Sally Smithson) was a normal person, driven to insanity by her work place and the loss of her husband. The Entity claimed her as a killer after she massacred all of the inmates and staff. Normal people can't have bandages wrapped their face so tightly they can't breath, nor can they collect people's breaths. Therefore, the nurse was altered by the Entity.
The Hag was a normal girl living in a village where they practiced different rituals using symbols. One day she was kidnapped by cannibals and kept locked up in the Pale Rose in Backwater Swamp. Whilst strung up, she cut off her own hands through her shackles and drew one symbol on the floor. With the help of the Entity, she became a monster and cannibalised the cannibals right back (she played the uno reverse card). Therefore the Hag was altered by the Entity.
The Doctor was slightly altered by the Entity due to Carter's Spark feeding off of the evil in his heart. Now normal people can't usually provided electrical energy through bad thoughts in their heart, and so the Doctor was slightly altered by the Entity.
The Spirit- do I really need to explain? Probably, so here goes. Now, she was a normal child going to school and working part time to support her family. Her father was originally going to be the killer, and so the Entity entered his mind and made him kill his wide before turning on his daughter. She was chopped into many pieces and thrown through a window (hence the glass in her body). However the Entity saw her rage and so brought her back as the killer instead. Her rage animates her, and without the Entity she wouldn't be standing since usually people aren't made up of floating body parts.
The Legion was altered by the Entity to give them strength since edgy teens can't pick up people like Ace or Bill or David with ease. Therefore they were slightly altered by the Entity.
All of this can be discovered through The Archives or through their character information page. There's my proof (no Ace isn't batman).
Wow, that's an impressive amount of made up crap. You do realize I actually have access to the same lore pages you do, right?
https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Evan_MacMillan https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Philip_Ojomo https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Sally_Smithson https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Lisa_Sherwood https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Herman_Carter https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Rin_Yamaoka https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/F._J._S._J.Funny, not a single one of those pages mentions a single thing about the entity altering any of its killers. I don't have any links to the archives, but anybody who has them unlocked in the game can look at whatever listing you're going to pretend implies the entity altered any of its killers. So go ahead and say which memories do.
And allow me to provide the same valid level of proof you did to help establish that Ace is Batman.
Ace Ventura came from the long lost planet of Krypton. Due to a freak accident where he was covered in unnatural chemicals, he was given a special green ring from the guardians of the galaxy that allowed him all the powers needed to turn into a bat at night and help fight crime. While rescuing the world from a mad purple titan hellbent on making humanity pay for the damage they had done to the plantlife, he became known as Batman.

The Trapper was altered by the Entity.
The Wraith was altered by the Entity.
The Nurse was altered by the Entity.
The Hag was altered by the Entity.
The Doctor was altered (slightly) by the Entity.
The Spirit was altered by the Entity.
The Legion was altered (slightly) by the Entity.
The Clown is a human.
The Hillbilly is a human (barely).
The Huntress is a human.
The Cannibal is a human.
The Pig is a human.
The Plague is (technically) still a human.
The Ghost Face is a human.
The Deathslinger is a human.
The Oni is (debatably) still a human.
Not counting Oni as a human, that leaves 8 killers who are human, 7 who were altered by the Entity, and 4 who aren't (The Shape, The Nightmare, The Oni, and The Demogorgon).
Counting Oni as human, that's 9 human, 7 who were human, and 3 non-humans.
And Ace is actually secretly Batman. That's how credible it is to say killers are altered by the enemy and give no evidence.

Killer sided structures:
Thompson house(actually got a bit of a nerf), there was no loopability and the only reason to go there was a generator.
Ironworks coaltower, the rafters upstairs are only used for the chest and perhaps to try and hide while the killer goes downside, because neither the killer or survivors truly have a reason to be up there.
Left side of harvesters, if a survivor uses the left side without balanced landing, its a free hit for killers. The right side is heavily survivor sided.
Unsafe pallets, they are pretty much only usable for a killer stun, dropping the pallet without a stun gives the killer quite the advantage, especially if they try looping it, which they cant for more than 10 seconds without giving a hit.
Doorways, Mount Ormond's skilodge, which used to be heavily survivor sided due to a lack of openings, is now actually a killer-sided structure, if the basement spawns there, there is 1 godpallet in the whole building added to compensate, if the basement spawns in the killershack and you try looping, you might aswell run in a straightline on an open field.
Slowing gap closing and being survivor sided are different things. Revving a chainsaw slows a killer with 15%, increasing the gap, but speeds the killer up with at least 15% and allows for an instadown. Would you call that slowing of gap closure survivor sided? I dont.
As for pallets, there are TONS of pallets in game that are very killer sided that can guarantee a hit within 10 seconds which you wouldnt get with other loops. If a loop decreases the time of getting a hit compared to the average structure: killersided if it increases the chance of a hit compared to the average structure: survivorsided.
If you need an example for a killer using a pallet in their advantage: I can use tons of unsafe pallets to easily bait them to hop over a pallet once, guaranteeing me a hit while they go for a second pallet vault, lowering their damage boost they could otherwise use to run to a safe structure and shortening the chase by a massive amount of time. A decent survivor can loop me around a safe structure for roughly 60 seconds, so if there is a pallet I can use that forces them to go a different direction because I reduced their damage boost, to a structure where the average survivor can loop me for 20 seconds, that is a killersided pallet, wouldnt you say?
I mean, how do you think survivor sided and killer sided maps are labeled that way? If the survivor has a higher chance of survival compared to the average map, then its survivor sided. If the survivor has a lower chance of survival compared to the average map, its a killer sided map. Or are you gonna claim there are no killer sided maps because there are no maps that guarantee a kill?
And again, yes, haddonfield was broken for old BL. But outside haddonfield, there were fairly few issues with BL. There were enough outside haddonfield to nerf the perk specifically rather than blocking haddonfield windows/replacing windows with doorways. But the point is, averagely, the PERMANENT 75% decrease didnt affect the killer's ability to get a 4k on the vast majority of maps. So if a 75% PERMANENT stagger decrease for survivors allows a killer to catch up with a survivor enough to get 4k's, then a 5-10% increase on killers should practically have 0 effect on killer statistics. It would slightly buff haddonfield, sure, but again, survivor stagger is based on the height they drop from. Having a 0.025-0.05 second stagger when a survivor would have a 0.5 second stagger doesnt affect the chase. It literally takes longer for you to blink. Are you gonna complain that blinking affects your ability to chase, because you lose track of the survivor for 0.08 seconds?
The loopability on the top floor of Thompson was limited to the short loop right at the top of the stairs, but the bottom floor was constantly used to slow or lose killers. Like every other main building in the game, it's one of the first places survivors will run through if given the chance cause they know it will slow the killer enough to get to pallet nearby if they haven't been used.
To this day, the coaltower topfloor is constantly used whenever the map pops up into rotation. It's ridiculously easy to wait at the top floor for the killer go get to the top of the stairs and then drop down and run to a safe area or loop back in through the building when the window was there.
Left side of harvesters might get used rarely, but that's only because most survivors will only do what they've been taught to do without any creativity. Fortunately, it's not a popular strategy to go onto the haybale side and bait the killer around to the right side and then double vault to the opposite side. If they actually did that, it would stop me from being able to quick end their typical thoughtless looping pattern on that loop.
Unsafe pallets are most useful for the stun, but you can still use them to get distance regardless. And with very few exceptions (those ridiculously small walls around pallets at the bottom of the temple), the stun is up to the the survivor more than the killer. Even if the killer respects pallets and refuses to take the stun, if they backed off right before the drop, then you still have the distance to run away before they can catch up again.
Doorways? You mean the open space I was talking about? The lack of a structure? Yeah, as I mentioned previously, those non-structure structures are in the killer's favor. As for the ski lodge, that building is still wildly survivor sided. Survivors are constantly running upstairs every time you get near it. And they don't do that en masse because it's a bad idea.
Slowing gap closing and being survivor sided are different in the fact that one is a subset of the other rather than the two of them being an equivalency. And yes, the slowdown on LF's chainsaw rev is survivor sided. Why the hell do you think he's considered one of the worst killer's in the game? But if for some incomprehensible reason you think it's not survivor sided, then convince all the other survivor mains to petition to get that killer sided effect out of LF's power. I can garuntee that killer mains will back you on that one.
I like how you mention unsafe pallets twice showing you're struggling to think here. But the only pallet I can think of that gives survivors a 10 second timer before getting hit is the one in the basement of the temple. All other short loop pallets can be dropped and then continue running while the pallet makes the loop longer unless the killer decides to break it. The fact that some survivors try to use short loop pallets like loopable pallets is their own fault.
And again back to pallets. The fact that you can take advantage of survivor mistakes involving pallets only means that survivors make mistakes involving pallets. The fact that pallets are still to a survivor's advantage is something anybody who thinks rationally has to admit if they're being honest. It's seriously ridiculous to insist otherwise, and yet 3 times now you've tried to say that pallets aren't survivor sided.
If by fairly few issues outside of Haddonfield you mean Coal Tower, Ironworks of Misery, Blood Lodge, Disturbed Ward, Campbell's Church, Pale Rose, Grim Pantry, Lery's, Mother's Dwelling, the Game, and Ormond, then fairly few issues.

Yes. If 1 killer gets DS'ed and is denied his Tunneling, then he shall visit the forums and post his thread about how it's overpowered, how there is no counterplay, and how EVERYONE is using DS and giving him PTSD.
Have you tried actually reading the thread before you start posting? Hell, even if you had bothered properly reading my comment that you quoted, you would see how stupid it is to complain about killers complaining about DS being used in a discussion about DS not being used. But that just went straight in one ear and out the other because you only ever bother seeing things that you can complain about.

Not really, most killers are simply humans who got slightly altered by the entity. But guess what? So are the survivors.
Not a single killer got altered by the entity. They only got taken from their realm and placed in the entity's realm. Same with survivors for that matter. The closest thing they did to altering is taking away guns, guitars, and whatever from survivors that had them when being snatched.

You're the one with a bias here. I play both survivor and killer equally nowadays.
Besides, its not the same advantage/disadvantage here. But going by your logic, lets make a list:
- Survivors can vault fast. Killers can vault slow.
- Survivors get a big stagger. Killers get NO stagger.
- Survivors can use some pallets to their advantage. Killers can use other pallets to their advantage
- Survivors constantly use survivor sided structures, dodging tons of hits. Killers get NO use out of killer sided structures, getting no easier hits
- Survivors walk slow. Killers walk faster than survivors can run.
Seems like there are 2 oddities in this list.
Perhaps altering killer stagger would give a reason for survivors to try out killer sided structures that are actually a lot more challenging than survivor sided structures, but they are not survivor viable at all. Would it make survivor sided structures stronger? Yeah, slightly, but killers were able to deal with those structures when Old BL reduced 75% of survivor stagger constantly, so they can easily deal with a 5% added stagger.
Or are you going to claim that no one could be caught when BL gave a permanent 75% stagger reduction? Because if you do, then you, sir, are blind.
There are indeed 2 oddities to that list. You for some reason think killer sided structures exist. The most killer sided structure is an open field which really isn't a structure. Everything else can be used to slow gap closing. And you also seem to think that killers can use pallets to their advantage. Outside of Freddy or Doc, there's nothing killers can do with pallets. Survivors are in complete control of pallets and killers can only use their pallet love to mind game them.
Btw, the problem with the old Balanced Landing was stuff like the Myer's house in Haddonfield. It has 3 windows and with old BL, the survivor could always get to another window before the killer could catch them meaning that if the killer was going to go after them instead of something else, they could drop 9 times before all the windows were blocked off and then go to another loop. Saying it was fair because you would eventually be able to catch a survivor given an infinite time frame is about as fair as saying that having the old Iron Grasp + Agitation combination was fair because you could still eventually wiggle out given an infinite time frame. But here's the reality of the situation: time allowed in this game isn't infinite. Making any balancing decisions based on that assumption is just utter foolishness.

I give it 1 week before the whiny side of killer mains start flooding the forums once again like they did last week and beg the devs for a DS nerf.
1 week.
So if people are gonna stop using DS and start using For the People, you think that killers will beg for DS (the perk not being used) to be nerfed? The majority of your posts show a lack of thinking, but this one doesn't even make any sense.
-
I'm all for making killers have the same chase advantages/disadvantages as survivors. Give them the same stagger effects on a fall. Give them the same vaulting speeds. Give them the same hitboxes for rounding corners.
Or are you not so much for making things similar and just wanting to nerf killers out of personal bias?
-
I don't understand what some people see in this perk. You're either going to use this around the killer in which case somebody is going straight back down and now they have somebody else to chase that only has one hit to go down. Or you're not going to do this around the killer in which case you can just heal the downed survivor and not lose a health state and go broken. This perk is only useful in very niche situations like if the user has Mettle of Man setup and ready to use so he can block a hit. Or if you have the endurance addon on a medkit to do the same thing.

Maybe you should try running directly at the killer after being unhooked then. I'll leave out the part about how once you give them a free down, they'll burn your DS and then tunnel you out of the match for abusing DS. It will totally be worth it. Go ahead and abuse it. Intentionally piss off killers. You deserve to do so. YOLO

If the unhooked survivor tanks a hit with BT, then just focus on them. It was stupid of them to waste their safety and you should take advantage of it. Sure they'll cry about tunneling at the end of the game because survivors who want to abuse things like that are quite often amongst the most entitled brats in the game, but don't pay heed to the cries of the crybabies.

No. Read the lawsuit in full. If that was the case, then f13 could've put out the Jason x skin and spaceship level. And Jason's hockey mask IS specific, as it's modified with extra holes and a special look. Go to neccas( one of biggest horror model makers) and check about Jason. Research your info before blabbing on about something you clearly don't understand.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1285822#Comment_1285822
They didn't abandon it, they were stopped by court orders once everything was put into the so called "freeze". There not allowed to add ANYTHING to the game because of the lawsuit, so they SOLD it to another company that's huge fans of the franchise and have been making visual and bug improvements ever since. Once the lawsuit is over(time pending) they will release more content.
Just googled neccas. Absolutely nothing about anything horror or film related for pages. Mostly stuff to do with New England Center for Circus Arts. So I guess one of the biggest horror model makers apparently isn't all that big. And since you're claiming to know so much about this lawsuit, that means either you read everything on hardcopy for some weird reason or you actually know of some website that supports the facts you're laying out. Those would be incredibly helpful to proving your point. Cause everything I've read so far stats that Victor Miller was the original screenplay writer for the first film. Any copyright claims he has would be limited only to what he's actually worked on. And I think everybody knows that Jason X and every version of Jason as an adult wasn't in the first film. The reason the F13 game can't put out new content is because the very name of the game is called Friday the 13th and regularly uses Camp Crystal Lake both of which were given to Victor Miller in the US.

Jason is not coming to DBD.
1. They already have him(AKA trapper)
2. They can't use any outfits, maps, or characters from the franchise because of the lawsuit.
3. He would be weak, and his powers would be stupid. There not gonna let you see where survs are at all times, your not gonna be able to teleport across the map, and any stealth he has will be HARD countered by OoO and spine chills.
4. If ANYTHING was allowed to be done, don't you think they would focus more on another film than DBD or updating/fixing his OWN game? It's so bad his toy line got pulled from necca. Trick or treat studios can't even sell his masks.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/920/Polish_20200518_155800488.png
1) That's as intelligent as saying Leatherface isn't coming to DbD
2) They can use any characters and outfits from anything other than the 1st movie without problem (which includes all of adult Jason's appearances)
3) Every killer is a crapshoot of whether they'll be weak or strong. And that has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not they'll be added to the game. Why would you even mention this if your point is about whether or not Jason will be added.
4) Where are you getting this information? I can understand if they can't sell his toy cause it says "Friday the 13th" on it. But any suggestion that they can't sell his mask is ridiculous. It's a hockey mask. As in what they play hockey in. Do you know how ridiculous it would be if hockey masks couldn't be sold?

Yea no, just ignore ^ that guy. Dead by Daylight in it's core isn't at all about stealth gameplay. If you want to win on any side time efficiency by good positioning and decisions is the a and o.
Idk how much Killer you're playing but slugging is beside hooking and sacrificing the 3rd way to apply effective map pressure. Healing is sth you are not forced to do. You still are avaiable in the game. You can do gens, chase or distract the killer.
So when you play killer you always look at the UI how many survivors are pressured. For examble you down someone and you see the opportunity of downing someone else too: The downed guy - disabled. Someone has to come and pick him up - disabled. So there are still 2 survivors (potentially) on 2 different gens.
So when you chase the other one too and slug you have
one guy downed and disabled,
one guy chased and disabled and
one guy picking up the first guy - disabled.
And potentially one guy on a gen. If you down the chased one fast someone has to come and unhook/pick him up too. Because if they won't the survivor die and that's the holy grail of map pressure.
It's all about: What action forces the survivor to leave the gens. Totems, hooks, heals, chests or whatever are all optional.
And that's why killer slug.
What to do is pretty simple and that's what people call: learning by doing. You can use different perks to avoid those situations. You can improve yourself in a chase against killer XYZ. Learning how to mindgame, how to play loops, when to pre throw a pallet or not, when to just run in a straight line to increase the initial chase distance, or when the team as a whole isn't organized good enough to win against the opponent.
A good Killer knows exactly what's going on on a map. He knows where survivors are, he knows their playstyle and their strenght, he knows where pallets are, he knows where his hex perk is. But the survivors don't.
And that's what many players don't understand when it comes to perk choices. People dont overthink enough the value of perks. You can use Unbreakable, Decisive Strike and Dead Hard to eliminate your own and the mistakes of your team.
Or you choose perks that gives you the same map knowledge as the killer. So you know based on facts what's going on, where it's going on and who's involved. Information perks are the best survivor perks because before you run to a hook and leave the gen on the other side of a map because you don't know if the other survivor is going for the hook-safe you can run Kindred and stay at the gen and finish it before the killer comes to pop it. Or ruin just regressed it. before you bring yourself in a very dangerous position where the killer wanted you to be there Kindred helps you do avoid specific places.
What I wanna say is, if you know what's going on and what to do you can avoid situations where the killer takes all his chances to 4k as fast as possible. A killer always takes any opportunity where survivor missplayed. I do. And everytime I saw people running Kindred, Bond, Detectives, Windows I has way less of these critical plays where survivor don't split up or lead me to their weaker teammates. Where survivors ran to the hook with 3 mans where I took tha chance to cheese some downs and kills by patrolling the hook.
Games are way harder to win as a killer when survivor know what's going on and how to play in this situation.
Conclusion? Idk. Get rid of Selfkill/care or premonition and play one or two information perks.
And also learn how to play against different killer. Learning by doing. Slugging isn't the issue at all bud.
I guess you've never run into the situation that you definitely should have run into by now. But a hooked or downed survivor DOES NOT MEAN that somebody is coming to help them. Hell, a downed survivor even more so than a hooked survivor is likely got to end up with people keeping at gens instead of coming to the rescue because you need to wait for them to 99% themselves and want to wait to make sure the killer isn't camping them.
If you see somebody else after you down a survivor, it's definitely the smart move to chase them instead of hooking, but you are not disabling 3 survivors by doing so. The chances you got somebody to get off a gen at high ranks is actually rather low. They tend to wait more often than not for downed survivors if they're on a gen.
-
It's obviously a good idea that would help balance the game. I almost can't wait to see the excuses used to try to defend having survivor gen tapping be so much easier than kicking.
-
I can currently only think of 2 things that make me tunnel.
1) Object of Obsession
2) When a survivor with DS runs at me after being unhooked just to abuse DS. If they're gonna give me a free down, waste their DS, and prove to me that they're that kind of player; then there's all the reason to tunnel them.

Apparently... I am #1 Killer.... ######### -_-
You've also killed more survivors than anybody else which makes sense from the player who's earned the most bloodpoints and mains killer.
-
Based on the highlighted column and the way numbers line up, it looks like you've just earned more bloodpoints than anybody else.

Nah you’re wrong. Idk where you get this “entitlement” feeling when it comes to the hatch. In all my games playing red ranks I don’t see the hatch as a viable option a lot of the time. Good killers won’t let you go through it 😂 I usually head for an exit gate because the killer typically finds it first ( killers have a lot better of a chance to find it since they chase people all over the map)
this sense of entitlement is nonsense at this point. In the red ranks I don’t see myself escaping most of the time it simply doesn’t happen. Besides, it not even an essential part of Pipping. What angers me most is why killers get to run around tunneling with Mori’s ruining my Rank while people sit around and complain about dumb things like the hatch or keys which aren’t even guaranteed uses 😂 you might not even get enough gens done or get away from a hook long enough to use the Key you spent your 7000 bloodpoints on but here the killer is spending 7000 and getting consistent use out of it. Why is my money spent not being valued? Can they make Mori’s cost more or make them more rare? Survivors keep getting nerfed and those nerfs just get tucked away in a perk somewhere and it’s getting quite annoying. while killers get pure buffs with no takeaways.
Interesting. For some reason, you heard me say there's a number of entitled survivors who believe escaping should be easy for themselves and immediately assumed I was talking about you even though my post would suggest I was talking about people who claim that gates should be on opposite sides of the map. I wonder why that is.
-
Honestly, as killer I don't really mind the hatch that much. I consider it to be somewhat balanced. However, the problem that comes with it is a massive sense of entitlement amongst some survivors. The existence of the hatch seems to make them think they deserve an escape if all their teammates have died. I'm glad I haven't seen one of those "gates should spawn on opposite ends of the map to make it easier to escape after hatch is closed" threads in a while, but they were always ridiculous when they popped up.

I was playing survivor once, the killer said he wanted to farm. The second our guard was down he killed everyone. He was a rank 2. I let him know what I thought of him in dms.
The next day im playing killer and he shows up in my lobby. Suffice to say sometimes slugging them is a punishment.
What situation were you in where the killer was able to talk to you? That's going to take more explaining.

Let me tell all that there is to know, I am an expert in King's cosmology.
In the original IT 1986, Pennywise the dancing clown, aka Bob Gray is one of the favourite forms of the entity known as IT.
A part of this entity landed in Derry, around the time of dinosaurs and lived there for millions of years.
Its true form is comparable to a spider, at least that;s what the human mind can see about IT. Its real true form is made of something called the dead-lights.
This form of It is brother and probably equal to another entity called the turtle, later renamed Maturin the turtle.
Both of this creature were created by "the other", which is probably Gan the name of this god of the gods. This is the creature that guides the losers club in their path against It, it is also the creature which congratulates Bill after they defeat IT in 1985.
It is a female monster claimed to be the eater of worlds, in later books we will see more about this nature.
In the 1994 book called insomnia, It seems to be equated with another creature known as the Crimson King, this is later almost redacted with the two being probably two different beings.
In both cases, It and the Crimson King are creature of a dimension called Todash, this is where the agents of the Random come from.
Their job is to destroy the dark tower which is the centre of existence of King's universe.
So is Pennywise like the entity of DBD ?
Yes and no, they both feed on emotions, fear for It and hope for the Entity, and they both have insectoid appeareance. Both are capable of shape shifting abilities and both have reality warping capacities.
The entity and It would easily fit the typical monster from Todash, and we know there are others like It. Shapeshifters capable of reality warping and feeding on human emotions, in the dark tower novels we meet Dandelo which is very similar to It and the Entity.
This is the quick version of the cosmology, now the films will not reveal any of this stuff, or very limited.
You need to read the novel It, the novel insomnia, the novel 1963 to get the full picture of It. If you want more undrstanding you also need to read the dark tower, which is connected to It and the rest of the cosmology I briefly introduced.
Lore wise it would be strange to introduce It to dbd, but doable It and the entity could strike a deal or simply the entity could use the memories of Bill or any other survivor from the losers club to produce a monster inspired by pennywise. A clone if you will.
Yeah, I just watched the 2017 movie to see what the comparison to the entity was about. I'm guessing the book version is significantly different because the movie version only seems to share one similarity with the entity, the ability to feed on emotion. Otherwise, it's a monster that could easily be part of the entity's conscripted killers.

Are there really no WW2 FPS games? I don't play enough FPS games to know myself, but that would be rather surprising if true. I vaguely remember hearing about it getting to the point where they made nazi zombies in some FPS. If it got to that point, I would have to think there was a number of them.
-
I really need to watch the It movies. Everybody keeps saying how Pennywise is like the entity. But that doesn't match everything I've heard outside of this forum. Everything else says he's basically a space demon.

As a killer main and also a Claudette main. Killers still find me even when I take sharp turns. However I know people don’t like her cosmetics but I don’t think they will change her. That’s kind of like asking them to make a white character less white looking.
Or just make her blonde with bright only bright clothing options
-
Claudette is the only survivor that actually has any difference inside of gameplay. They really should rework her hair and cosmetics to where you can't lose her mid chase in a dark map just because she did a sharp turn.
-
I don't see any need for them to be able to move and heal at the same time without Tenacity. Just make it to where they can heal past 95% at the slower rate but their aura becomes visible to killers at that point. Of course, give them some kind of forced stop and warning when they hit 95% so they don't just immediately go into aura reveal by accident.

Well, its doesnt mean killer spose to slug in start and dont give a chance to play for others, u know that sometimes killers on high ranks slug you and try to kill u in first 5 minutes, like all party, i understand if they will be have a bunch off bloodpoints, but this give absolutely nothing, instead of bad chat and report in end. I`m saying again, EVERY ONE WANTS TO PLAY A GAME, yes, sometimes they gen rush (survs) but its dont mean you need to be TOXIC killer or surv player, as i sayed, the community in this game is toxic and i think nothing will changed, and i think DC penalty is a bull trash, because if killer or surv play TOXIC, why i need to take this??? Is no balance in game, and every time is getting worse. Survs getting nerfed, and all preferences get to the killers, if they know how to play
If the killer is slugging you right off the bat without any clue where any other survivors are, then it's massively to their disadvantage. What they've essentially done is save themselves the time of hooking you in exchange for a pseudo hook timer that is twice as long, doesn't progress to the next stage next time they down you, doesn't give you a set location, and alllows you to move to your allies if they take their eyes off you. If he's slugging you because he knows where another survivor is after downing you, it's a completely entitled assertion to say that they should be hooking you instead of going after that other survivor that they have in their sights. If it's honestly the former case and you're getting wrecked because of it, the problem is with the survivors, not the killer. Slugging from the start without knowing where any other survivors are is less than half as effective as hooking.
-
Technicallly, iridescent shards are the rewards for devotion leveling which allow for a variety of outfits.
-
If somebody runs straight at me after being unhooked to abuse DS, that's actually when I start tunneling them. They give me a free down and get their DS out of the way so I'll just straight tunnel them afterwards if they do that crap to me.
Btw, to everybody saying "devs said Decisive Strike isn't an anti-tunnel perk", just because the devs say something doesn't mean it's necessarily true. Let's be honest and look at the facts. It's a perk that fights against a killer who downs a survivor again in a short time after they're unhooked. They could say Borrowed Time isn't an anti-camping perk. They could say Unbreakable isn't an anti-slugging perk. They could say NOED isn't an anti-gen rush perk. They could say Lightborn isn't an anti-flashlight perk. But let's be real here. Decisive Strike is an anti-tunneling perk. Also of fun note, I'm not sure if the dev team themselves take this stance, but Peanits said it as if it was the dev team's stance. They (or at least Peanits speaking on behalf of them) said that the Legion rework wasn't a rework.

Object of Obsession is the only perk on that list that really benefits SWF more than solo players. Personally, I think the reverse should be true and SWF players should be forced to take a perk that shows survivor auras (Bond, Empathy, Kindred, and the like). They benefit less from them than solo players, but they're still beneficial.

Several games have shown it works. Hackers, scammers, and overly toxic players are more annoying to deal with than a good player that kicked your arse. If you only have a few "avoid" slots, you will want to spend them well.
Personally, I think this community is too far gone to install any of those types of options though. Most of the decent players have left. I rarely ever play anymore, maybe once or twice a week. There is way too many toxic whiners in both the forums and the game itself. Most of my friends have moved on to other games. I keep trying now and then in the hopes things will change because I think the foundation of the game has so much potential.
Oh well.
Which games?

Take it easy genius, The idea is much simpler than what you think, Its not about taking your toxicity away.
Yeah, and the reason the simple idea isn't a good idea is even more simple. If you think the obvious problem he's talking is "genius" then the problem is more to do with your rationale.

To answer the question, the reason it's grab a survivor from a locker instead of hit a survivor while they're exposed from Iron Maiden is because the latter is just short of impossible in high ranks. Chances are you won't complete it at high ranks before tomes are done unless you intentionally start a farming game and convince a survivor to just allow you to complete it. The intention of challenges is to make games a bit difficult or be difficult to obtain, but not to the extent that you can't complete it playing relatively normally during the duration of the tome.
-
Wait, Freddy and Quinton aren't on the Nintendo Switch? How did that happen? Does Nintendo have some kind of problem with Nightmare on Elm Street? Or does DbD's license for the characters somehow cover PC and 2 consoles but not Nintendo?
-
The majority of people who made content explaining the prestige system have warned that prestige rewards could change in the future just as they have changed in the past. Plenty of times people have been warned that while currently the only reward is cosmetics, it could change in the future so plan accordingly.

It's questionable in the sense that neither killers or survivors are an oppressed group. This is all overly dramatic.
Every point you mentioned has it's analogous for survivors.
- 4-man SWF----> Gamebreaking add-ons.
- Clicky flashlight users------> Really inconsequential on gameplay and laughable this is even an argument, but for the sake of it: smacking hooked survivors.
- Survivors are salty even though they got outplayed------> Works both ways. Players in general are salty when they lose.
- Holding the game hostage-----> It's not a thing anymore, unless a bug happens.
- DC'ing for hatch-----> Facecamping to secure the hefty 1k.
Your post was at least somewhat reasonable until you got to the point where you said holding the game hostage isn't a thing anymore after the original post contained a video of survivors holding the game hostage. Now it just lacks any credibility.

I still don't understand for the life of me why they haven't just implemented the husk system. It would solve this kind of problem and a number of others completely.

Really? I could swear the front open side of the through bus didn't have such a long go around from the window with a complete lack of visibility for the killer and the loop around the rock used to be a lot smaller. Did it honestly not change? Maybe it's because it was right next to another jungle gym that they kept chaining that it seemed more op than usual. But I could swear that it used to have a quicker walk around from the window and a smaller loop on the rock.

It should work on you and only you. So if you get unhooked, you get the bt, but if you unhook someone they don't get it.
This actually isn't a bad idea. The only down side it's harder to get safe unhooks for WGLF and other things if the killer is camping or patrolling.

What your suggesting is only going to end up killing off Distortion's stacks rapidly. This wouldn't make Distortion an anti-Whispers perk. This would make Whispers a massive anti-Distortion perk even though Whispers is strong enough on its own without being a counter and Distortion is a bit of a weaker perk to begin with.
