For the People is lowkey meta

For the People is an anti-slugging perk that creates an Obsession so the Killer has to respect Decisive Strike.

We’re currently moving towards a slugging meta and Decisive Strike is falling out of favor in Red Ranks because it gets respected so much that it rarely gets used.

Personally, I think that For the People is lowkey meta and over time it will only grow in popularity

  • If nobody is obsession the killer isn't going to slug.

  • I love for the people, the person using it becomes slugged pretty quick and the person that was already down is back there in about 10 secs. Its 2 slugs for the price of one 😊

Outside of some very niche situations its a detriment not a help to survivors

  • I don't understand what some people see in this perk. You're either going to use this around the killer in which case somebody is going straight back down and now they have somebody else to chase that only has one hit to go down. Or you're not going to do this around the killer in which case you can just heal the downed survivor and not lose a health state and go broken. This perk is only useful in very niche situations like if the user has Mettle of Man setup and ready to use so he can block a hit. Or if you have the endurance addon on a medkit to do the same thing.

I give it 1 week before the whiny side of killer mains start flooding the forums once again like they did last week and beg the devs for a DS nerf.

    1 week.

  • Well if you are in a swf then it can be a better perk. In solo it is not that great because you have to coordinate as a team to get a use out of it.

So if people are gonna stop using DS and start using For the People, you think that killers will beg for DS (the perk not being used) to be nerfed? The majority of your posts show a lack of thinking, but this one doesn't even make any sense.

  • I see what you mean with the obsession aspect. Honestly, I think there should always be an obsession and it should have more related bloodpoint scores.

For The People is a cool perk itself and I like the way you brought up an alternative use.

  • Honestly, if we're basing its usefulness off of the anti-slug factor, I'd wager that Mettle of Man would be better. The fact of the matter is, people have been a slave to the anti-heal "meta" ever since the healing speeds were nerfed. Sloppy Butcher, Thana, Mangled addons, Legion's entire existence, Plague's entire existence, Deathslinger's entire existence... Killers have a hate boner for Survivors healing. What this usually means is that unless you bring Inner Strength and/or a jacked out self-healing medkit, most Killers are going have you injured for the majority of the match.

You can't use For the People as a Perk if you're injured—literally, you can't. At least with Mettle, you can technically use it while injured and take a down in exchange for that extra stack. Plus, when you really think about it, which is better for anti-slugging:

    • A Perk that only works in a very specific situation and is countered by the mere existence of certain Killers on the battlefield or even just Perks that everyone loves running, and upon use puts both parties into a one-hit-down state.
    • A Perk that, when activated, allows you to take an entire extra hit and prevents you from going down entirely, even if you're Exposed.

I don't know about you, but I'd say Mettle of Man is a better anti-slug Perk. It accomplishes the obsession mindgame that FTP does, doesn't require you to be fully healed in the anti-heal meta to be used, extends chases better than any other Perk in the game when you get it to work, AND prevents you from being downed for an entire extra health state.

Some would argue that Mettle of Man is situational and hard to activate, but to that I raise you: For the People is even more situational and even LESS likely to be actively used in a match. Trust me, I know from experience. So Mettle wins even in that regard.

Yes. If 1 killer gets DS'ed and is denied his Tunneling, then he shall visit the forums and post his thread about how it's overpowered, how there is no counterplay, and how EVERYONE is using DS and giving him PTSD.

Have you tried actually reading the thread before you start posting? Hell, even if you had bothered properly reading my comment that you quoted, you would see how stupid it is to complain about killers complaining about DS being used in a discussion about DS not being used. But that just went straight in one ear and out the other because you only ever bother seeing things that you can complain about.

He stated it's falling out of favor when the killer mains on the forums beg to differ.

Are you able to put 2 and 2 together? I wish DS falls out of favor so I hear less complains about it, but it's the complete opposite.

    2+2=4.
