Let me guess... is it with the werewolf one you came up with...? Or is it a new one?

I can help with addons if you want it. But I'm not sure about having Charlotte as the survivor until I know what the killer is...

I was also thinking of making her future self (as killer) to round out the chapter... but if your chapter has potential, maybe I won't.

Thank you. Communion was supposed to have some counterplay with Mori'd bodies. Make Moris have some downside for killers. : P

I promise you it will be great

    Thank you!

The devs say that, then add DS and Head On. Words and actions don't line up...

Can i have a collab with you? Im currently creating a new chapter and i dont have a add-ons for the killet yet and new survivor

i will make sure to credit you

I love your work especially the communion, dead bodies can be used thats really nice especially on end games

The only way to get around a camper is for your team to ignore it. I had a game earlier where Insidious bubba camped a basement hook, got a second person down there. Other teammate went in for some reason. I got three gens done while that was happening. If they would have realized what was happening we could have had three survivors instead of just one. End game lobby he was trying to troll, so it was obviously purposeful. Only way to punish is to not fall for it.

    Agreed

The Doctor: The Shock Therapy Attack has a default range of 15 metres.

    English is my first language.

Where is the nitpick comeing from? You brought up a stun I never mentioned. I'm saying there is no stun because there is no reason for there to be one.

You said it will be instant so i thought it will have a stun or else they will be vaulting on the air which is hilarious

You Changing from instant to after is confusing

And you are starting to argue with me even though Im on your side

You are getting annoying im done with this

I'm curious to know what people think of this concept. You can see this on my art page as well (on dA, I'm Noctis-Corvus).

    Lore:

Not all survivors are human, but as long as they are willing to help others escape the trials, they might as well be. One such example of this is a little girl named Charlotte. A child with a troubled history, she had no family and desperately wanted a way out from the slog that became her life. Foster parent after foster parent couldn't handle this depressed little girl. The entity took note as she was in such pain, not just due to an isolation from others, but due to her own masochistic tendencies. After being abducted, she was transformed into a killer, known as the Vampire... but she couldn't bring herself to kill survivors because they tried to help and protect each other. She gave pain, but felt sorry for inflicting it against them after seeing the desperation in their eyes...

After refusing to do her job, the Entity decided to strip her of most of her power and make her a survivor. It eagerly awaits for her last hopes to be blotted out and her to join the roster of killers again... and it knows it will happen.

But that is unlikely to happen in the present moment, as now supported by her fellow survivors, she feels that they are her family and will do all she can to protect them... despite her new nature.

Charlotte comes with three teachable perks:

(Lvl. 30) Bloodthirsty: Not all of your enhanced senses have been stripped away from your transition from a killer to a survivor. Pools of blood are more vibrant, and when standing near them (10m or less) you can see the aura of the injured survivor within 32 meters. She gains a small TR (20m/15m/10m) and red stain when tracking another survivor. The killer cannot hear the TR or see the stain.

(Lvl. 35) Communion: When injured, you can approach a dead body or an alive survivor and, through a short animation (which will last between 2-5 seconds, but a dead body will be longer than an alive survivor), drain them of blood. This will heal her 1 health state, and injure a living survivor performed on. The alive survivor will be broken for 20/15/10 seconds. You will not take blood from an injured survivor.

There will be a cooldown of 60 seconds.

(Lvl. 40) Unbridled Rage: When injured by another, you become furious as you wait for an opportunity to strike back. When injured, stunning the killer with a pallet will give you a 10/15/20 second window to attack the killer and gain a health state back. The killer will be stunned for the duration of the animation performed (again, 2-5 second long animation). This will leave you exhausted for 60 seconds. If you do not use it within the 20 seconds you will not be exhausted.

EDIT: Picture update, meter radius for Bloodthirsty, and animation lengths added for Communion and Unbridled Rage.

EDIT 2: Gave Communion a cooldown, and Unbridled Rage is now an Exhaustion perk.

    Communion is great

The reason why survivors cannot fight the killer is because they are using cat and mouse concept of gameplay, not Tom and Jerry though

What do you mean? It's exactly like legions addon but the Survivor has it.

But considering that even Spirit Furry is considered a free hit, and this doesn't stun the Killer like that perk does, it's even easier to get a hit afterwards.

TLDR it doesn't need a stun because you'll get the hit without it.

I really do think you are underestimating the decay perk.

It's extremely common where you'd be chasing a Survivor around a Pallet, and they can just vault the pallet repeatedly to force you to break the pallet wasting a ton of time.

This causes the pallet to just break instantly when they try this thus giving you a free hit and forcing them to leave future pallet loops until the Hex is broken saving you even more time.

As for Mark of the Beast I can make it a scream like Infectious Fright.

Before (you said) "they will break (instantly) when they try this thus giving you a free hit"

Then (I said) "What's on my mind is legion's add-on, the pallet will break (after) the vault" (I said it to let you know that my assumptions are wrong)

Now (You said) What do you mean? (It's exactly like legions addon but the Survivor has it).

But considering that even Spirit Furry is considered a free hit, and this doesn't stun the Killer like that perk does, it's even easier to get a hit afterwards.

So now (you said) pallets will break (after) the Vault?

The only reason you can get a free hit with spirit fury and dream pallets is because of the pallet dropping animation which causes them to stop in place and Drop The Pallet that will not affect the killer on the other hand the vaulting animation, They will be vaulting on the air on a invisible pallet even if the pallet is destroyed

I do want to try to make the slow work.

If it turns out to be absolutely necessary then sure but a slowdown has all of the properties I want in the effect.

Specifically it's impactful enough that Survivors would want to purify it, assists in a chase thus making up for the time it takes to apply it and it doesn't give information to the wolf.

I explicitly don't want him to have a tracking ability, since if a Killer is fast and good in a chase like this Killer is then the best counter is stealth. Thus you need to be able to hide, hence why I didn't give him a smelling ability.

Trust me I did consider it, but it just leads to the issue of being unable to hide OR run, at which point balancing everything out just leads to the entire kit being underwhelming even if technically balanced.

As for causing fear I'd argue that the tether mechanic qualifies due to it's interaction with the terror radius, how when stacked it becomes extremely deadly and also the howl giving him a presence much like the demogorgon in terms of atmosphere. (which wasn't announced when I made this suggestion btw).

In any case for now I can make base form 16 meters.

    Everything can be balanced

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

    Real quick:

Do you think this is OP, UP or balanced with non-balance issues?

OP: it would be mark of the beast perk

The other 2 perks are lacklusters

Power: the numbers needs adjustments (especially the human form M/S supposed to be balance with TR)

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

Of course! Balance takes time and I'd love to hear suggestions.

Base form is a bit tricky.

On one hand he isn't supposed to be a stealth Killer, hence his TR being such that M&A doesn't quite reduce it to 0. But on the other hand you need to be able to get hits as him. Hence having a significantly reduced TR at all.

I could just make base form 115%, but then it would be too easy and wouldn't justify the slow.

In certain I can make it work, but I need to get the Numbers right.

Also I've been brainstorming a downside to the wolf form. Note that I don't want an additional limitation, just a downside.

12 metres TR is too close it will be almost stealth

  • We should focus on the highlights of werewolf which is speed 120(✓), sensitive senses, smell, hearing, etc and causes fear

It's lose enough that it shouldn't be an issue. No one has the rights to Werewolves or the idea of it being a sickness, and since I'm not drawing from a specific portrayal, just loosely drawing from a common type of portrayal, that's not an issue either

It will cost money if you get the looks of the movie's werewolf and put it in dbd (for example twilight) so i stick with the mythological werewolf

I think we should just let clown have the slow effect on power we should just give werewolf a different effect

  • I think this will be unbalance as you can stealth walk around on human form hit them then go on full wolf form mowing everyone with the 120% mobility, having 120 mobility and with that 5% slow would be too much.

Mark of the beast- this is too much over the top of revealing effect because it had no expiration after you hit them and applying the effect

I think it will be good if you work more on this idea

That's the definition. But it's often portrayed as a sickness with the transformation being a symptom for those that Survive.

Then leaving it unattended will kill the survivors or turn them to a ally werewolf (50/50) and not slow them

Where did you even read that?

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

And as for your question about Taint.

lycanthropy is often seen as a sickness which the wolf spreads, and so being near the wolf is itself harmful.

Now for balance reasons and to give the base form a function it's the base form that applies the status itself. But that's what gave me the idea and is part of why it's the wolf form that actually applies the debuffs associated with it.

There was also a draft where the wolf would be able to track tainted Survivors in wolf form. But I was having trouble balancing it so I went with this instead.

Lycanthropy- the supernatural transformation of a person into a wolf, as recounted in folk tales and myth lycanthropy is a supernatural condition in which men actually assume the physical form of werewolves

It is not a sickness that makes humans slower or weaker its the opposite

This was made long before you made your Killer idea.

  • Can you explain what is the Taint in the Myth of Werewolves?

2 of the perks are lackluster compared to the existing perks

Hex:Decay:Simply Breaking the pallets is better or use Brutal Strength for better performance, its already bad, survivor breaking the hex totem will make it useless knowing that its already bad they might not even break it.(Seriously why 1 hex totem only?)

Growing Rage:its mobility increase is not good, you even lose a token if you hook and overall Play with Your Food is lot better like heaven and earth

Mark of the beast:so this mark is Permanent this will put a lot of pressure on the survivors with the werewolf's 120 mobility because its permanent after the hit and it also reveals their location just by doing almost anything. (this will greatly benefit nurse, spirit and especially hillbilly to the point that everyone will quit being a survivor)

    I don't get you people.

The advantage of a 120% Killer is that

A: You can mindgame/brute force loops that are normally too long to do so

B: You catch up to Survivors faster in a straight line, thus also reducing how many loops the Survivor could possibly reach to further extend the chase

    C: Patrol times are reduced.

Remember, this Killer will end chases at LEAST 33% faster than a 115% Killer in the same situation.

For example given a 10 meter head start and no loop:

    115% = 16.67 second chase

    120% = 12.5 second chase

That means for a 115% Killer the Survivor can reach a loop within a 66.67 meter radius, while against the 120% Killer that drops down to a 50 meter radius. Given the way area's work that means you can prevent a Survivor from reaching a loop with a significantly smaller deadzone compared to a 115% Killer.

You also find them faster due to reaching them faster while patrolling and when they do reach a loop you will force them to drop the pallet faster and will be able to break less pallets due to being able to get a hit at loops on more pallets saving more time ect ect ect.

This is why 110% Killers are so bad at looping and almost always have movement based abilities. The 5% MS difference is a huge deal.

Yeah, that may be a thing, but they're still an M1 killer. Sure, they can down people with a slightly faster speed, but they have nothing different than most killers. All they can do is mindgame, which is unreliable on its' own.

Should we have a killer that can down survivor by only staring at them and shooting lasers from its eyes or by pressing the "Enter" "Space or "F4" button? is different button keys different gameplay to you?

Why did you say that search and on the abyss works in the same way? They both reveal but the other uses portal to reveal, the portal is the biggest difference, His power works in different way, the way you say things is just like saying nurse and freddy teleport is the same even though they work on different ways just because they are both teleport

The Wolf is an information killer, and information killers aren't the strongest (look at Legion, for example).

I'd also get rid of the reveal Wolf location for 3 seconds, because seeing where they are across the map is ridiculously strong counterplay... maybe the audio of the wolf is like the Demo... you can hear them across the map, but it gets louder the closer you are... and can be directional.

Demo can detect people too, but it's limited to the portals and people can hear them across the map. I'm just saying that only having a way to track survivors doesn't make a strong killer. They need some kind of ability to help them catch them. So far I see nothing to help them in the chase. Every killer's power helps down survivors (Except Legion, but that's why he's weak).

what do you mean it can't catch a survivor? Read it all over again

  • @SteveInABunnyHat said:

I don't see it as a legion replacement because, iirc, legion can't stay in his speed boost forever unless he gets a hit? And also legion CAN hit when he's running. This is more of a passive ability that let's you get from here to there and that's it.

For the second ability I'd say make it more like a radius than just always active. Maybe after getting hooked once the killer approaches the hook and "smells" it and then within 16,20,24 (or something) you can just straight up see the person until they get healed

    (To prevent death hook tunneling)

For the second ability make it after getting a HIT you can activate Scent to see the survivor within 16,x,x but you slow down until you release it. Maybe it charges over time? And the more survivors you hit the bigger the radius gets

    Vaulting pallets is legion's thing

O'Leary was a man who loved his work. He owned a restaurant, was well known in is Brooklyn neighborhood, had friends galore... Each morning he opened his doors, he was greeted by the same familiar faces, all smiling happily to see him. His life was perfect.

But, as with all things, that changed. One day, when the local health inspector was making his rounds, he discovered a heafty nest of rats had formed in one of is walls. Not uncommon by the ports like he was, but bad enough to get him shut down. And this, he couldn't take. He had given everything for this place. His father worked himself to death in the shipyards to help him realize his dream. And now this one man was going to take it all away.

And so, he did the only thing he could. While the inspector had his back turned, he drew a freshly sharpened knife from the block and slit the poor bastard's throat.

As the rush of adrenaline left him, a mortal terror fell over him. He'd just killed a man. Without even flinching. And now, there was only a body left, draining like a gutted pig on his floor. He had to do something. Hide the evidence...

His friends praised and applauded him, congratulating him on this new "secret recipe", devouring every last scrap he served them.

It wasn't long before people began to turn up missing, starting with some of the younger ladies in the area. Eventually, the police followed the trail of evidence back to him, storming his home and business in the middle of the night. All they found that foggy morning was an abandoned restaurant, overrun with rats, spiders, and a cellar full of bleached, neatly piled bones.

    Power: Razor's Edge

The blade is to a chef as a paintbrush is to an artist, carving out a masterpiece in the kitchen. But only if it's properly maintained.

-At the start of the trial, your blade starts with 50% Sharpness.

-By holding down M2, you will begin sharpening your prized tool. This will fill the meter by 5%/sec., slowing your movement and decreasing your turn speed for the duration.

-while sharpening your blade, all scratch marks will flash brighter, making them linger for an extra 0.5 seconds.

-once the blade reaches 100%, your next strike on a survivor will leave them Mangled, as well making them bleed profusely and Hindering their movements until they manage to heal. This strike will reset the Sharpness to 50%.

-Striking a survivor will damage the blade by 15%, where as striking an object will damage it by 30%.

-If sharpness reaches 0%, the knife will break, rendering it useless. The broken blade can be thrown at survivors to gore them, leaving them Broken until it's removed by another survivor.

-while your knife is broken, your terror radius is reduced to 0, and when empty handed, you move 20% faster and can not attack.

-a new blade can be procured from a locker at 25% sharpness. Blades from the killer shack or basement will be at 50%

This is still a work in progress. If you guys like it, feel free to suggest any changes or add-on ideas for his power.

The standard terror radius for 115% movement is 32, make it 32 instead of (standard) so there will be no confusions

I like how there's no option to say they're fine as they are. I think they're fine. They juggle survivors, and have the ability to create a lot of pressure. Their power may not kill, but it's such a hindrance that you don't need your power to kill. Either no one heals and you're basically Tier 3 Myers without the vault speed, or they do heal and the gens never get done. Either way they have to mend if hit with your power, so gens are going slower either way. Watch True play Legion.

Then he is not belong to the killer category better if they just turn him to a survivor or rework it
