  • They stated it was a bug and it will be fixed. It wasn't like they promised it would be fixed tomorrow. It's very likely a complicated issue to fix.

Iron Will is not fine, why am I have to combine it with no mither for %100? This perk is literally dead right now, needs to be Frankenstein

First, they don't stack that way. It's something like 92% silent.

Second, survivors shouldn't have access to unlimited 100% silent noises.

75% is good enough and requires more thought into how and where you hide.

  • At the core of DBD, it's a PvP game. In PvP games, people will always focus on the tactics that are easiest to pull off with the best chance to success. And simply focusing your early hooks on the same survivor to kill them is better than spreading them around because there's no different in a survivor with 1 or 2 hooks and a survivor with 0 hooks when it comes to how fast the survivor's can complete their objective.

If an addon doesn't see play that doesn't mean it isn't good. For those that don't understand how broken her 110% addon is.

    1. You have one of the best map traversals in the game.
    2. You can now Loop like any other killer, but you can blink through any wall.
    3. Pallets become unplayable against you.

And the list goes on. This is the most broken addon dbd has ever seen in the past few years, we are blessed that it's power isn't well known.

TLDR: You don't want her to be 110%, period.

If it was as broken as you said, you would see it all the time. The fact the addon sees practically 0 use means it's not good.

    1. Losing your 2nd blink hurts her map traversal.
    2. Nurse being able to M1 loop isn't better than just having 2 blinks and ignoring pallets/windows.
    3. You're joking, right? Nurse doesn't care about pallets. The matchbox addon makes pallets stronger against her, because she can just use her 2nd blink to go over a dropped pallet.

You do know that's the most broken addon in DBD right? Even worse than Compound 33. It removes even the little counterplay she did have. If you want her to be a 4.4 (110%) killer then you have to completely rework her power.

It's far from being the most broken addon. No one uses the addon, because having just 1 blink is too easy to avoid completely and being 110 is not enough of an upside to be at 1 blink.

  • No.

There's a good reason no one runs the iri addon that makes blink a 110 killer with 1 blink.

it cannot be much more stronger because we could see a rise in scourge hooks builds if it becomes more powerful, imagine if it was a 25% slower repair/healing speed, scourge meta would rise hard, it is true tho that compared to the benifits of PR it ain't worth the gamble if you have to select one or the other

What would be wrong with Scourge Hooks seeing more use? They are practically unused outside of Pain Res.

You only have 4 hooks (+basement if you waste a slot on monstrous shrine). There's no system to make sure the hook spawn evenly throughout the map so you can find yourself in situations where there's no usable scourge hook throughout the trial. Ultimately for perks that are a gamble, they should be stronger.

Not to mention, survivors can sabotage scourge hooks too. So survivors can already deny the perks.

  • The best practice for dealing with cheaters tends to be silently patch the vulnerabilities and then ban wave so cheaters and cheat devs have a hard time figuring out what got them caught.

I get facing cheaters suck, but it's always going to be a reoccurring problem.

  • If you're an M1 killer, Sloppy is just more reliable.

If you're an M2 killer, you often have addons to apply mangled or hemorrhage status effects.

Doesn't help that you have to hope there's a scourge hook nearby for it and simply the minor slowdown from fully healing isn't strong enough to justify the gamble of the perk like Pain Res.

I think Xeno's crawler animation and tunnel system or Twin's power in of itself is probably more complex than Chucky is.

3rd Person killer cam is pretty complex and likely took quite a bit of work to get to work right. At the end of the day, I don't it matters which killer has more complexity into their power. The devs are pushing what was possible with newer killers which shows there is work being done to improve the engine. It's going to be a very slow process and we're going to see bugs pop up as the work gets done.

  • You don't get notifications for messages being deleted unless the moderator is giving you a warning about what you post. Sometimes when discussions get heated the mods purge a bunch of posts and make a post in the topic telling people to behave

  • Switching engines, upgrading the current engine, or any sort of major overhaul is not something that can easily just be cranked out by skipping a few chapters. Not to mention, the thing keeping the game alive is the frequent chapters.

As an aside, not every dev is working on the same thing. BHVR is working on multiple chapters concurrently to make 4 chapters a year considering they state it takes a full year to develop a chapter. They have a team cranking out bugs as every patch comes with a plethora of bug fixes. There's no reason to believe the devs aren't trying to improve their core structure at the same time of pushing out chapters. Any improvements made to the backend is never going to be noticeable to the players.

  • It's a valid playstyle. nothing more really needs to be said.

I dont agree with this at all. If they balance perks around Nurse and Blight then most perks would be almost competely useless on lower-tier killers. I have one example of this happening and it's Awakened Awareness. In the Wesker ptb this perk was mostly fine since it let you see survivors' auras when carrying a survivor within 20 meters and linger for 2 seconds after you hooked or dropped the survivor. It was nerfed when coming to live by removing that lingering effect and the reason for it was because it was too strong on a few killers aka Nurse and Blight. Now Awakened Awareness is rarely used and honestly, a weak aura reading perk because of that nerf, all because it was too strong on two s-tier killers.

UW isn't the only perk ppl say is too strong on these killers also, I have seen ppl complain how Pain Res. Pop and most aura-reading perks are too strong on these two killers. By your logic we need to nerf all these perks also, guess we need to nerf BBQ bc of Blight, nerf Nowhere to Hide, I'm all ears, etc. Balancing perks around the two most broken killers in the game only hurts the lower-tier killers and greatly resists perks as a whole. It is better to nerf those two killers. For blight, it is as simple as nerfing most of his addons since base kit blight is fine. The only one that needs a full rework is nurse since she ignores the basic mechs of the game aka windows and pallets. I rather them do that than have more perks to become the next Awakened Awareness.

It wasn't really AA that was the problem. It was the combination of Starstruck, AA, and Nurse. Nurse has since had her blink attack count as an M2 instead of an M1 so she can no longer instant down survivors with expose. Of course, AA has not gotten reverted since that nurse specific change.

  • If you actually completely searched 4 boxes and didn't get the trap off, that's a bug.

You are guaranteed to get the key on the 4th search.

Not being good at hiding!?!? XD

I'm sorry man, but given that if you see no scratch marks after a 5s walk, you KNOW the survivor is near. There's something wrong with the seeker in this case if he can't find the survivor when moving at 3 times their walking speed.

Let's also not forget that you can use UW to hunt down people who are already wounded, which tbh, you should be doing... and your whimpers kill any chance of you hiding point blank...

Come on dude, you're better than that.

Yes. Hiding in a way that isn't obvious to the killer is in fact a skill not many survivors use. UW is only a single location ping, it's not an aura that follows the survivor for a few seconds.

And at the end of the day, the killer knowing your general location does not immediately put them in chase with you nor does it immediately win them a chase.

Played Killer myself with it man, as I've said before... Killers aren't stupid.

Even accounting for the best case scenatio of LoS, I would guesstimate that in most scenarios a 32m TR killer has to move maybe 20m or so before they have LoS on you around walls and alike. Lets highball it at 24m, as 8m is pretty uniformly found in most scenarios.

That takes less than 4 seconds to reach for the killer. Scratch marks last for 10. If you see no scratch marks, you don't have to look far, especially if people are wounded. If you do see scratch marks, you're also as good as found, and this is where the fast Killers really shine.

Let's not pretend that there is some kinda 50/50 here of killers not finding people with UW, any killer with eyes and half a brain will almost always find their target with UW, and at the least, push them off of whatever they were doing.

Survivors not being good at hiding doesn't change that scream notifications are far weaker than auras for tracking.

  • @UndeddJester said:

You're not wrong, but having to sit in a locker for 30s to avoid it, or run Calm Mind with it's debuff is hardly a good bench mark for "counterplay".

Just had a thought though... if Calm Mind only got its debuff for a set time after it successfully blocks a scream... that would be a great improvement for the perk.

A scream is just a one time ping of your current location. If you move away, the killer has no idea where you could have gone. Not to mention that the scream bubble can even block information from the killer.

  • DBD is not that serious of a game that the advantages of PC matter in the grand scheme of things.

True, but he also doesnt complain about bbq, or darkness reveals, or nowhere to hide, does he? Might it be because all of those are at a different problem level than ultimate weapon?

For me i have several problems with ultimate weapon:

    1. Detection: to find. You want to find a survivor hidden nearby? While you can counter Nowhere to hide, you can´t counter this. They come to your gen and you run away or they know where you are.
    2. Detection to prevent: Simply hook someone in a corner, proxycamp with this perk, and just interrupt any survivor that enters your terror radius for a save. At least 2 surviors are now needed to the rescue, in a favorable map 2 wont be enough.
    3. Detection and interrupt to protect. Activate, go near your hex totem, and you will a) know if someone is by it, and b) interrupt them cleansing your totem, because they screamed.
    4. Detect and interrupt: works with gens and dead mans switch or mercyless storm as well

Also, a lot of killers dont like things that come for free (look into every made-for-this-thread), so why change the standard here?

Opening a locker doesn't help the killer defend gens and scream notifications are the weakest form of information. Not to mention that survivors know when there location has been revealed and can use that information to sneak away. It's not like the killer sees which direction you are moving in.

UW was far more of a problem when it was released, because it was ignoring Calm Spirit and Lockers. Now that those have been fixed, UW has seen a drop in use because it's no longer simply better than other information perks and opening a locker can often be going a bit out of the way and those seconds can be the difference in stopping a gen from getting done or it getting done.

  • Some people really just want the game to hold their hand

  • If a killer tunneling you takes no skill, then you should have no problem looping the "no skill" killer for 5 gens.

  • If UW kept causing survivors to scream while they remain in the killer's TR, then it would be a 30 second CD.

But as it stands, UW triggers each survivor to scream once during that 30 second period and since the killer can't use the perk again until both the 30 second duration and 30 second CD occurs, the perk is effectively a 60 second CD for the killer.

    It's just basic math of 30 + 30.

  • If you're losing to baby killers, there's a different issue than them being able to use "comp tactics"

  • The perk only triggers once per a survivor while active and the cooldown doesn't start till the active period is over.

It is a 60 second cooldown per a use.

  • @Xernoton said:

They definitely have changed a lot over the last 2 1/2 years. When I started playing scratch marks were very thick, intense, wide spread and pretty much impossible to miss (or at least it felt that way). I remember seeing scratch marks from halfway across the map at times. Now I'm happy, if I can follow them with the survivor right in front of me.

There is quite a significant delay between the survivor crossing a certain point and the scratch marks appearing, sometimes there won't be any scratch marks at all on that spot. It seems like they changed scratch marks to appear in patches instead of a trail. Also, scratch marks are nowhere near as intense as they used to. I know this might not be that much of an issue for some people, but I really struggle with this as it can lead to scratch marks having barely any contrast to the surroundings, which makes them blend in instead of stand out.

I can follow the flashy lights because I see them very well. But when that isn't the case, I always need a bit of time to sort through it all and notice slighter differences in color. So sometimes I do see them but it takes a moment to actually recognise them as scratch marks. Don't know, if this is a me problem but it's something that I had always trouble with.

Some months ago, I came back from a little break and I immediately had the problem, that I couldn't track scratch marks anymore. It got so bad, that I started fiddling with the color blindness settings (something I had never done before in any game I had played) but that didn't help much either, probably because I don't suffer any form of color blindness. The weird thing is, that scratch marks not only blend in on maps like Lery's with it's white walls but even on darker maps (worst for me is Badham). I also noticed that scratch marks don't look as thick as they used to. Just compare them. You'll see what I mean.

Predator doesn't help either, so that is not an option. The perk is downright detrimental in many cases because it makes scratch marks even harder to see from a distance and barely does anything when you're close because then you know where the survivor goes anyway.

Part of it is because of dedicated servers. The server now has to communicate the survivor's movement to you which causes a delay between the scratch marks appearing.

Balancing around comp play is so dumb. Comp players literally already balance themselves(banned perks, no high rarity items, no duplicate perks, etc)

And it’s impossible to know an opponent’s loadout ahead of time in normal matches, so wouldn’t that make every perk unhealthy?

Otz has been complaining quite a bit about random perks when I watch him (largely just for PTBs while I'm at work). Anything that remotely speeds up either side is being called unhealthy, because anything that remotely changes the standard 4.6m/s vs 4.0m/s movement interactions is bad and unhealthy since they can be hard to tell when they are in play. He doesn't like effects that can be impactful, but hard to tell at a glance.

I largely don't agree with his take although I do agree that MFT was unhealthy, because it was always online. But I don't think the concept of having conditional haste is really that unhealthy for the game.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3585977#Comment_3585977

Otz is generally being super weird right now. He says stuff like Coup and even Hubris are unhealthy because they punish the other side for doing their job correctly. Like….isn’t that how literally every perk works? He also takes issue with how you get blindsided by them because there’s no way to predict they’re in play until you get hit by them. Like…isn’t that how almost literally every perk works?

I’m concerned that he is gonna get stuff needlessly nerfed because people so easily go along with his takes.

Otz has been really into the Comp Scene thanks to some of his friends like Hens. Otz basically believes if the survivors can't know a killer has a perk ahead of time, it's unhealthy. Ultimately, DBD is not that serious of a game despite the comp scene and perks like Coup are fine, because it's fine for the killer to have a surprise factor when they are facing 4 survivors.

Honestly, it was a tough decision as I've met a lot of cool people in the end game chat but I'm so tired of crybabies, complainers, and sore losers (or even entitled winners that still have something to gripe about) taking up most of what goes into end game chat aside from "GG" so I just turned it off also.

I actually don't mind trash talk, I'm not sensitive to it and can dish it out, and it's actually fun using it as an opportunity to turn the screws on someone who is obviously tilted because it's funny to me when someone is so heated over a video game but yeah... the entitled complaining. I'm over it.

Honestly, I don't think those interactions really exist to that level anymore. A lot of people just quietly move on to the next game. While I don't innately have a problem with the concept of a chat censorship, seeing it censor character names and such really puts a hinderance on interactions as well. Then consoles don't have chat so with crossplay you often get lobbies where no one can talk either.

In the current state, I don't think the chat actually brings anything positive anymore.

  • You literally know when the killer spots your general location with the perk. They don't know where you go from the general location which you can use to your advantage.

Not to mention checking a locker is often time not a simple task a killer can do on a time crunch.

  • @MikeStev said:

Ah yeah comparing Ultimate Weapon with Infectious Fright, very legit.

    How to activate?

    UW : Open a locker

    IF : Down a survivor

    How Far Its Effect?

UW: Killer terror radius for 30 seconds

IF : 32 metres from downed survivor

I know, finding a locker need effort and sometime its not an easy job to do.

Some killer TRs are shorter than 32m with only one naturally larger than 32m.

IF saw use on some killers around the time it came out, but it's slowly seen less and less play since there's just better aura options. UW is seeing the same thing now that it doesn't counter calm spirit or lockers.

Auras are by far preferrable to scream notifications. Screams are easier to hide against since the killer doesn't see where you go after the initial location ping and since the scream notification lingers for a few seconds can even hide your trail as well.

Then you add the fact that opening a locker often doesn't help defend gens or pressure survivors, so killers on a time crunch often don't have the time to interact with lockers. It's not like No Where to Hide where you can combo it with gen regression perks. The only other locker perk killers have is an aura reading one and there's no reason you'll ever run both.

UW simply isn't that big of a deal. Being a scream perk is really want keeps it in check since if was just blanket aura reading, you would never know the killer sees your aura and they would more easily track you upon the reveal. If you scream and gain blindness, you know to sneak away to avoid the killer since the killer only knows the general location.

IF you can find a tape and find a TV to put it in without getting tunneled. Everytime I get a tape and I find a TV to put it in, she will TP to me without fail.

Unless she's running the Iri addon to force the TV you have to return it to. You can return the tape to tvs that are turned off preventing the killer from teleporting to you as you are trying to put in the tape.

  • @Xernoton said:

Most balanced perk? Eh, not sure about that. But it's definitely nowhere near as strong as some claim it is. I still think that there wouldn't be quite as many complaints, if it didn't counter precious WoO but I will admit that I do have one issue with this perk. Its synergy with DMS. I don't like that part. Otherwise, I think it's in a pretty good spot.

If we have to nerf it, then make it activate when the killer opens the locker and make it go on a cooldown right there and then. Weaker killers would still get pretty much the same use out of it, while it wouldn't be as good on high mobility killers.

The killer would have to hook a survivor, go to a locker, spend a few seconds opening to trigger UW, and then the remaining duration of the 30 second DMS blocks a few gens.

They can work together, but I don't think it's really that notable.

  • @MikeStev said:

Here the main reason why us complain about Ultimate Weapon

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3585151#Comment_3585151

Bbq : need to hook a survivor

Flood of Rage : need to hook a survivor on scourge hook

Nowhere to Hide : need to kick a gen

Lethal : active only for 9 second and after that boom become a support perk +2 second aura for others.

    Ultimate Weapon : ......

The killer has to open a locker for UW and the reward is a scream notification which is much worse than getting an aura for a few seconds. The scream notification can even block information.

If UW causing survivors to scream in the killer's TR is such a problem, then so should Infectious Fright. And IF has no cooldown to speak of.

I've already seen a noticeable drop in UW usage since the bug fixes. It's not a bad perk by any means, but it's certainly not the info perk everyone is running.

  • @Phantom_ said:

This depends though, good Sadako players TP so fast around the map that it turns the tv's off, so it makes it more and more difficult to find tv's where you can get a tape from and place it.

She has a 10 second CD between teleports and can't just turn off all TVs immediately at the start. There's a time frame in which you can grab a tape.

Not to mention that she builds up 0.75 stacks per a teleport and tapes can remove 4 stacks. So even if you get hit by a few condemns at the start, it's not a big deal.

  • Holding a tape prevents gaining any condemn stacks from her teleports.

I obviously don't say anything if the killer is face-camping, nodding yes-yes and hitting on hook until you die, IG now we have anti-camping mechanic but even before, I'll just hit that Continue button asap lol.

There's a little arrow thing next to the chat. Clicking that removes the chat. You can show the chat against by clicking the arrow button again.

It's not part of the charm, it's unbalanced design meant to favor one side over the other :)

It's an asymm game with rng maps. If you can't handle losing sometimes to bad rng, then go play a different game.

  • Sometimes you just get bad rng and lose. Happens to killers as well. It's part of the charm.

So why are DS and OTR disabled end game? 8 stacks STBFL guarantees a kill if a survivor is hooked via facecamping even if the obsession takes the down.

Huntress and Bubba facecamping is also a problem. Doesn't mean STBFL isn't.

Much like DeadLock the perks are fine outside of camping and quickly become unhealthy when the killer facecamps.

Because the devs decided it's better for killers to be able to secure a single kill at the end of the game rather than survivors having free escapes.

Facecamping also isn't a problem anymore with the anti facecamping system. If the killer is facecamping, do gens and let them unhook themselves.

  • @myersgoestochurch said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3585042#Comment_3585042

That's cute and all but killers who want to camp do so in a way that simultaneously denies the new anti camp system while also preventing unhooking by just...approaching the hook? You don't play survivor and it shows.

If the killer is staying 16+m away from the hook, then being M1 is not a problem because lunges only reach around 6m.

I play plenty of survivor and STBFL facecamping just isn't a real issue with AFC in the game.

It's very clear you aren't interesting in the facts and just want to endlessly complain about STBFL instead of learning how to deal with it properly.

You're the only one obsessing over egc when I didn't even mention it. It should deactivate on egc tho, since most decent survivor perks deactivate as well. Balance, right?

Because if the killer is facecamping before the gens are finished, the survivor on hook can unhook themselves. And if the killer isn't facecamping then they literally can't interupt you with an M1.

Basically the "issue" isn't an issue.

And survivor perks deactivate in end game, because it's an asymm.

Using STBFL isn't exploiting. Besides killers like Leatherface and Huntress can successfully facecamp a survivor in end game and they don't use STBFL. So the percieved issue has nothing to do with STBFL and it's not even an issue because it's very clear that BHVR is fine with killers facecamping in endgame and securing a kill given that the AFC stops working and perks like DS and OTR turn off as well.

You literally can't unhook someone if the killer is camping with a few stbfl stacks.

If the Killer is face camping and it's not after 5 gens done, then the hook survivor can just unhook themselves.

If the Killer is not face camping then you have time to get the save.

If it is end game, then just open the escape and leave.
