I'm gonna place some of the useful things I've learnt about the game for both roles, hope you find some of them useful and PLEASE feel free to share whichever you think I missed. I''m pretty amazed how people don't know about lots of this.

    • The Doctor can shock you preventing you from dropping a pallet, meaning, you can't vault nor drop pallets whyle screaming
    • You can avoid the Doctor's blast by going into a locker
    • You can outplay wraith by standing still next to a window and as soon as he starts appearing you vault it, he won't hit you and will have to go around or cooldown the speed whyle vaulting it
    • The wraith gets ULTRA stunned when blinded whyle being invisible
    • You can start the "dissarm trap" animation to let a teammate walk through a trapper's trap and then drop the animation making the trapper get himself caught in it
    • Don't loop a good nurse, random movements work better if they know how to blink
    • You can steal a teammate's item from a chest if you stand beside and/or behind it
    • Place a small piece of scotch tape on your screen to learn Huntress and flashlight blinds, take it off after you feel confident enough
    • You can destroy the Hag's traps using a flashlight
    • Small game let's you know where trapper, freddy, hag and demogorgon places traps and portals
    • Sprintburst away, then fixate into cover, works every time
    • If only 2 of you remain and you need to open the exit gates take turns taking hits by body clocking the gates whyle one of you opens the exit
    • Using Spies from the Shadows in Hawkins is OP
    • 3 men on different gens at the same times do 3 gens faster than 4 men on a single one and changing to the next one. Meaning 3 survs on different gens get done faster than 3 gens done by 4 men one after another
    • Tunneling and camping is not a bannable offense, stop reporting them...
    • You can actually se who the killer is on XBOX if you go to "resent players" whyle in the lobby pre match
    • Luck only affects self unhooking and getting traps off or off traps, not items nor wiggle nor hatch spawn
    • The killer can close hatch before survivors if they're both on top of it at the same time
    • Killer can no longger grab the survivor entering the hatch
    • Gens made early game doesn't matter anymore cause gatekeeper emblem has been changed, stop complaining about gen rush, they can even get the 5 gens but if you 3k+ you'll be ok in terms of BP and pips
    • Don't go heal a downed slugged survivor in your SWF, do things and wait for him to say "I'm one touch"
    • If the killer facecamps do gens, if you're the face camped take one for the team please, maybe the killer will go away if he notices nobody gives a C about him camping
    • If you get unhooked by BT, YOU get a hit first, not the healthy survivor
    • Learn to 360 on top floors right next to falls, it's hilarious to watch the killer fall.
    • The firecrackers blind your teammates too, be prudent
    • Don't run the killers towards a gen being done
    • Cleanse against the Plague, if she grabs corrupt hide till it goes away, they'll be long games, but you'll all own her
    • CHANGE TO T2 as soon as you can as Myers unless you have the ninja addon for it
    • Use fixated to counter Spirit, Run forwards as she faces, then walw the other way after a few seconds, works every time
    • THE KILLER CAN HEAR YOU IF YOU'RE INJURED unless you have Jake's perk, DON'T TRY TO HIDE near him

You learn something new every day. Blessed content op.

nurse isn’t that bad tho imo, yeah she has some obvious downsides that need to be fixed because they’re filled with a bunch of bugs, but she’s strong if you’re good with her

She isn't bad. It just has a massive learning curve, and if your not used to the climate of this community, if a addled toddler with only 2 fingers can't get a 4k every game its a bad killer.

  • @LegionGhostface said:

Honestly, I get that her nerf was a really hard one that requires people to have much more skill when playing her, but she's still like the best killer in the game right now. Do you guys not find her fun or instead, hard to learn? my last game when i went against a nurse was a week ago and she camped me the entire game cuz i ran her for 3 gens and she dced once i was unhooked right when my adren kicked in. but honestly, i found it fun going against skilled nurses and i can barely find any now. #########?? :(

The road of least resistance is the most traveled in this community.

This is another problem. All killers should be viable at all ranks. People shouldn’t be forced to play 3 killers when they rank up.

All killers are viable in the right hands. If you are getting throttled every single game using the same tactic, its time to explore other options. What may suck for some, others can be excellent at. Its part of learning the game, and having a group of friends to practice against in private matches is a great way to have everything available to throw at the wall and see what sticks.

  • Afk'd whole match because I was looking at good memes on my phone

I think he's more annoying now to go against. His static blast stops you from doing any interaction. It feels like it's way easier to be put into T3 madness meaning no item using and the terror radius music isn't as discernable so you can't really hear it until he's already too close.

The last 5 matches Vs the new doc my teammates have DC's about 6 or 7 times.

Do you think the new Doc is less annoying to play against?

    1. After playing Doc his shock cone feels reduced, but not confirmed.

    2. Static blast has a decent cool down but seems to shorten on shocking survivors(?)

    3. The DCs are nothing new. It takes time to get used to new killers/reworks and some people still dc because of location 10 seconds in.

    4. You go back down to Madness 1 from snapping out.

Other than quality of life by removing the transition, the static blast was merely adding the survivor discovery that Doc painfully missed base kit.

  • @Gyuki said:

Hello. I don't play killers that much, but I've always used Ruin. Now, when Ruin is "nerfed", does it feel in the game? I thought I'd start using NOED, but I don't have much experiences. Should I?

Using NOED is a perfectly viable tactic if you expect to do poorly at map pressure. Endgame builds are a thing and lulling players into think its easy just to Blood Warden them in and let the game of bad touch begin is totally up to you. Its your preference

  • @Laakeri said:

To me good match is fair chases on either side.

I dont use bs main building loops as a survivor as I know how broken they are and if survivors dont use them while I play killer I consider that a good match.

    Willing handicap is required. Noted.

  • @AsePlayer said:

Teammates didn't suck and killer didn't suck.

Very hard to get both to happen at the same time.

So no prostitutes or vampires, got it.

  • @pandorayr said:

I guess...it's just a thought to the devs nerf any perk-meta used for 80% players on both sides

what do u think? I think is also annoying perk for new killers players.

    20200126_233530.jpg

    Here you go, champ.

  • Hurr hurr rip a crutch perk. I didn't see this much fanfare and belly aching when Decisive Strike and Mettle of Man getting utterly destroyed to pave the way for tunneling. Which I might add that I, as q survivor main fully accept your "taboo" tactics as part of the game, albiet relying too heavy on them can lead to weak killers. Time to buckle up buttercup and adapt.

  • @ProfessorDunwich said:

I escape most of the time now. The killers get a few hooks and are usually a lower level than me. While I admit I am having fun as a survivor, I highly doubt the people playing killer are having any fun. Wonder how much longer people will deal with games that fly by and continue to play killer.

I don't understand the point you are trying to make? Ruin has barely affected my win/loss rate since game's release. Its a crutch perk, and it may be easy now, but I wager killers will learn better map control and overall grow from this. I still think killers could apply more pressure if the map size was reduced a smidge.

  • @ggezbaby said:

Coming from a killer main, maybe try not slugging the whole team in the first minute. I don’t blame them for disconnecting.

If the killer slugs the entire team in under a minute, the survivor team comp is trash. Survivor main, I don't que with randoms. They're mostly carried potatoes who dc for stupid circumstances like, "I don't like this map" and "Killer targeted me first." Don't enable dcing for doing horrible.

I am curious, I recently made a thread and got attacked because supposedly tunneling is the only effective strategy to counter this “gen-rush”.

How can gen-rush be considered a toxic survivor method if that’s the objective?

    Example:

Match starts, 2-3 minutes go by and 3 gens pop. This is supposedly “gen-rushing”. Let’s say the killer spent 2-3 minutes being looped by a strong survivor. Who’s fault is it? Are the survivors toxic for completing gens or is the killer not smart for sticking to the chase?

    ———

yes, tunneling is an effective strategy in certain situations. But if you tunnel one survivor from the start of the game til they die, and you get 3 gens popped on you, that’s your fault.

Gen-Rushing is a sign that you have left way to many survivors unattended. Discordance is great early game to force survivors to work seperately or be found all game. I think the issue that makes Gen-Rushing so devastating start of match is map size, specifically playing low mobility killers. Reduced map size would easily fix gen rushing.

Tunneling is good in a few situations but ultimately leaves way too many survivors open to burn through gens. I absolutely think tunneling someone off hook due to everyone constantly rushing the hook is only logical, killer goes where the survivors are. Its common sense. Some killers abilities do seem to thrive from a divide and conquer method of eliminating survivors one at a time. Beyond that its poor management of your targets or letting other players get the best of you that results in using tunneling as a crutch. And with how frequently anti-tunneling perks get nerfed into the dirt, (Decisive Strike, Mettle of Man) it seems kinda natural to be miffed. Both are tolerable.

I saw a few clips from people who were about to complete the six feet under challenge but surprise one survivor DC's just because. In the post game chat they say things like "No challenge for you lol"

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/788/EA2DDQ0AFGYL.jpg

Credit to u/CaptainRikkai on reddit for screenshot after one guy Dc on last basement hook

How in the hell is this funny? One thing is poking at someone and irritate them a little to have a laugh (like bodyblocking someone in a corner for a little while) but this is just being a ######### thinking its fun.

It is not fun for anyone to have a player DC, either as a survivor or as the killer (although the second case would work on their favour) and specially when trying to complete a master challenge like this.

And dont come at me with a "oh why should I stay in a match that is not fun for me?" Because 90% of the time you Dc because you got caught in due to your lack of skill. If you can tell me to git gud as a killer when you escape by hatch after I destroy your team then Im in all the right to say that you should be the one to get better and stop ruinning other's fun

Oops this turned into a rant much faster that I expected, my bad. Just dont DC please many people are really struggling for that challenge and its already hard enough without people DC'ing to screw up the killer for no reason

DCing is not an intended mechanic of the game. Outside unnatural causes outside the confines of player control (Poweroutage due to storms, ect.) is robbing everyone involved. The killer gets punished for playing the game, other survivors have to accommodate a gaping hole in their team comp, and the player who performs dcing robs themselves of any chance of improvement. Same with a killer dcing. What is the point of buying a game you quit playing soon as it doesn't stay in your absolute favor?

Fire up a game with Nurse, I hated her at first, but I am starting to get decent with her. Just hit rank 10 killer and did well against a team of purples. Fire up a match, find a survivor and down them, throw him on the hook and I look around to see three of his buddies, so clearly SWF. I get a couple of hits, they unhook and have borrowed time. I down one near a pallet, I look around, see no one, pick him up....pallet stun... I chase him down, drop him again, look around, no one, picked up, instantly blinded by a flashlight. Then I get head on'd out of a locker.

I finally down another one, camp him a bit, but borrowed time. I down another one, look at a wall when I pick him up, but in a move that makes no logical sense, I get blinded yet again, even though I can't even SEE the survivor that did it. I see a guy go into a locker, try to bait out of head on, but nope, get stunned. Blinded a few more times, all gens done, they're FOLLOWING ME, trying to get me to down one so they can flashlight save. I open the door myself to start the timer and sit back, not going to play their game any more.

Two rank 4's, two rank 5's.

Next game, I facecamped the living crap out of the survivors, because I was pissed off. Do I care about depip? Hell no, it's rank reset.

Be a better example. This community creates its own toxicity which then feeds into further toxicity. Break the cycle, and be better. Goes for both survivor and killer, cause it takes both sides to make the game fun for all.

    Freddy-

Freddy has no counter-play for any of his powers. You cannot interact with any of his powers in order to give Survivors a way to counter his abilities. When Freddy uses his dream snares he has no cool down or slowdown when putting them down. This almost always guarantees a free hit or down when trying to loop him. Also if you choose o disable the snares he gets a notification and can put them down again immediately. Then with his Dream Pallets, survivors can put them down, although similar to his snares he can put them back up almost immediately. While as a survivor you can remember where real pallets are, this is a unrealistic expectation for an entire team to do. Ways to provide counter play for survivors would be to give a cool down on his abilities for 20 seconds for each use. Also for his teleport make to so he has to commit to teleporting it and can't cancel it, giving survivors more options for counter-play. Another option for counter-play would be taking out the timer for the dream state and make Freddy have to manually put survivors into it. This would give survivors ways to counter his Swing Chains add-ons. Also a small quality of life change would be when survivors are put into the dream state and miss skill checks to wake themselves up, Freddy doesn't gain a notification, this would give survivor play styles more options for counter-play while still punishing them for failing.

    Ghostface-

Ghostface and his Night Shroud ability is one of the best stealth abilities in the game, with no down sides. He has power creeped almost every other stealth killer in the game. He also has no down side when being broken out of his ability. Also with the broken reveal mechanic with his power when he leans around a corner makes him uncounterable. Ways to give survivors a counter to his power would be to make the reveal mechanic actually work when a survivor looks at him. Also since he has no warning before he strikes unlike Wraith they should either give Ghostface a warning sound or something before he attacks or give him 110% movement speed. Also another quality of life change would to give his addons that give his power a faster recharge rate a slight nerf.

Hm yes. Nerf two killers who can easily be trumped by common sense and coordination. I still don't understand the almost at least one dc a match against Freddy, he's not as horrible as people make him out to be.

Ghostface has been nerfed plenty and honestly other players incompetence seems more devastating than his tool kit could ever be.

  • @Victor_hensley said:

I could list my problems, but it won't matter. Devs will do nothing about it. they want people who want to play their game miserable.

Yet another useless post with no actual talking points save you don't like it. Gonna level with you, game has always been killer tilted, as its meant to be mind you. Murdering Mettle of Man, nerfing self healing for the upteenth time, Decicive Strike nerfs are all things the killers who complain the loudest never acknowledge. Is it unfair? Kinda. But you adjust and get better. Tunneling and camping are still meta mechanics I see in lower ranks and with tactics to counteract said killer tactics getting nerfed into the dirt on the regular, it makes my stomach turn every time I see killer mains whine and cry that aren't handed a perfect 4k every game.

  • @wannabeuk said:

Ok, so i've just had a game where i got raged at for tunneling because apparently in their mind if i down someone twice in a row FOR ANY REASON it's tunneling and i should be ashamed.

This happened because they get the person off the hook and then stood under the hook healing, which lit up my nurses calling, now playing wraith i stood around the corner and de-stealthed as i move around it and swung, so i didn't aim for anyone specifcially but i happened to hit (the now healed) person who was on the hook. Then then proceeded to run off a little and t-bag. So i chased and downed them.

After the game they raged at me, and i explained that i saw them healing and I was told "Your supposed to let me heal and go after someone else, it's called fair play" (followed by a lot more raging and crying)

Now i just wondered. How many other people believe that the killer should go out of their way to avoid hitting the same person who was hooked last, even if they stop and heal right infront of them?

Is this actually a common thought process?

It was bad plays all around on survivor side of things. Healing under hook right after unhook with no confirmation if the killer is busy or not is their fault. And tbagging is effectively an attempt to get the killers attention. They're just blaming killer for poor choices they made.

  • This was nice to see. In a game where the quality of the game itself rests delicately in the hands of the playerbase, it is up to us as the players to set the community tone for all. Give to the community what you want in return from the game.

  • @shalo said:

I'm Trapper, game has just started, I put down one trap near the basement, Bill steps in it, gets downed, so I hook him up, replaced my trap, and zip off to kick some gens and hit a couple of players. Bill gets healed up, steps in the same trap and is downed, bong! DC. His SWF, bong! DC. Next down kills themself on hook and last survivor gets out the hatch, Game took maybe 4 minutes.

So my question is, what do have to do to get you to play the damn game you queued up for?

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/832/KF0SJKYFQEHI.jpg

DC = trash. End of discussion. Only exception is like power outage and such.

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

dude said he was gonna report me for it

I don't understand. Were you just...chilling in the basement the whole time or did you have the basement detection perk and ect? Either way its not really a justifiable ban.

  • @Snapshot said:

So when you place your traps in the ground and survivors cannot see them (e.g. in Autoheaven map, in the Asylumn, in Torment Creek and in Lery's, and in MacMillian and in Yamaoka), they argued with me it is bannable as it is not intended and when you do it over and over again and they fall for the invisible traps multiple times in one match, you can be banned.

Is it true? I am in fear of my Trapper account :( I, for my part can see the trap a "little bit" :)

There are also places where you can see them clearly as killer, but survivors don't (dedicated servers).

Because the survivors still can disarm them... I would argue it is fine?

Tbh it's not game breaking enough to warrant a ban. The areas you can "hide" the traps seem rather specific and if theg keep retraversing the area it's their fault. Bannable offenses should be things that absolute destroy the point of the game, like working with the killer, or refusing to complete objectives to take the game hostage till other players have to dc. Or at least my interpretation of the rules.

What's the counter for moris? Not get caught? Then hit again was a counter for MoM

There has to be a counter to Moris? Its a consumable item that lets you finish the game faster. Half the time killers I go up against don't even use the ones they burn due to good plays by survivors.

  • Easiest way to fix this is stop dcing on both sides. You can't get better and learn to counter in game mechanics if you don't play against them. All dcing is doing is robbing yourself of potential to grow through experience. Challenge breeds excellence.

  • DCing is never justified, survivor or killer. In a game like this that relies on implied rules and that players have respect for how the game works, you are going to find people who won't comply. Depending on the degree is what warrants judgement and penalty. Everyone's gotta pitch in to make the game clean and fun.
