So are we balancing around the majority of survivors or the tiny slice that are outskilling the masses?
Seems silly to want to rebalance the game around a phenomenon only relevant intermittently.
They should be balancing around people knowing what they're doing, you can't just keep babying bad players by showering them with buffs. That's just making the role even stronger than it already is, not helping inexperienced people and only being further utilized by good survivors.

What are some ideas that can make Krause an interactive killer to play as and against?
Krause at the moment desperately needs changes to give her more depth from her power, like a mini rework, cause right now she really has non whatsoever
I haven't had a problem with the killer since her second nerf wave, but her mushrooms are completely useless, and should get a new effect, or a massive reduction on the timer to remedy at least

Well its easily fixable if the devs actually made good tutorials for players to understand each killer kit, but they for some reason haven't done that yet, thus most people who don't play often have no clue how to beat like half the killers in the game (looking at Freddy and Sadako with a high kill rate, despite being weak killers)

The example being Sadako and Freddy?
How's that an example? You personally decided they're bad killers, and then you concluded that the only possible reason for their high killrates must be 'survs bad'.
That's incredibly short-sighted. These killers may well be stronger than people give them credit, but their strengths might be harder to pick up on or master. Fewer people playing them means the dedicated one-tricks pull the KR up more due to their mastery of the killer.
I'm pretty sure we saw this with that one legendary Clown player, for example.
No they are not strong. What the hell are you talking about?

Don't we have the stats for that?
Isn't it like a 6% difference with Killers still coming out ahead lol
You can still think Killers need buffs, but pretending they are the weaker role is just that, pretending. The game is balanced to favor them.
Well, i guess by that logic Sadako and Freddy are broken, because they have over a 60% kill rate. Freddy is even hovering around 70% AND was the deadliest killer way back in first quarter 2025. Does Freddy and Sadako need a nerf then? No
Stats, like I keep saying and keep having to say for some reason (seriously no clue how almost no one on forums can understand this concept) do not mean a thing. You can't just take those stats to heart when you know well that most players aren't playing well or fully taking advantage of what their role has to offer. Just like how BHVR Nerfs perks for example because they're "popular" that doesn't mean it was broken, though it being good could be a factor to its high usage rate.
I would expect you of all people to know this, Pulsar, seeing as you are a veteran player. And maybe a side quest for you too, ask another veteran who still plays the game if it's killer sided or not. I can guarantee you, they're going to laugh at you if you say it is. Sure it's nowhere near as bad as 2016, but its still a long way from fair for majority of the killer Roster.

How are they statistically proven to play better, exactly?
There are 4 times more survivor players than killers
Thus they are 4 times more likely to not be very good. That's math, and it's very representative of why kill rates are so high on garbage killers like Sadako and Freddy (Freddy is the deadliest killer of the first quarter of 2025 btw, and his kit still isn't too powerful) Kill rates are high because most survivors don't know how to counter certain powers. Freddy got reworked, so the millions of casual survivor players who already aren't too experienced essentially have to learn a whole new killer. This isn't rocket science, ngl.

I dont suggest arguing with a guy who relies on stats of a game with poor matchmaking that mixes tryhards with casuals, has a significant amount of people who often give up or troll around, and complain about gameplay strats rather than adapting and getting better. Not to mention the console players who have been and still are playing at a disadvantage, and yet they are in the same queue with PC players.
Your experience and opinion does not matter. the numbers show that the game is apparently killer sided. According to the FACTS, we have to nerf every killer and give survivors buffs across the board.
That's the cost of BHVR just not making better tutorials. If they actually made tutorials on how certain powers work, maybe survivor players wouldn't suck so much

"but survivors suck". Doesnt mean anything.
Because it means nothing since they always sucked for 9 years, so by that logic never had a survivor meta.
Or they sucked but still had very obvious survivor metas.
you also cant just go back n fourth between "they only sucked at this and that time" because that makes no sense either.
Ergo, this sentence and arguement holds no substance.
Killers players suck too. Does this mean anything?, not really. They still got kaneki, nurse and blight that take barely any pratice to go on winstreaks on, maybe not long winstreaks but enough to get consistent wins.
Even if you wanna say the killrate is flawed or whatever, you cant argue that you have zero reason to not believe the party stats (how many people actually play in 4 mans)
Saying its been the strong role since 2016 makes no sense. Especially since we had nothing going for us since 2023 when mft and buckle died off.
And in history, killers also had strong metas in that timezone, like pentimento plaything, thrill of the hunt, pallet density being tilted in their favour for a month, kaneki blight and nurse barely getting any nerfs besides slaps on wrists.
You can say its swf sided all you want, but by design its never survivor sided overall, because disproving that it never was aimed to have a 60% killrate is impossible and you rarely get a competent swf squad by the stats shown before to even justify it when you get a swf 1/10 times.
I can show you survivor gameplay in a SWF and in solo queue if you want to argue this further. As long as the killer's not Nurse or Blight, you should be outing

A longer chase because you can completely lose a Fog Vial user is pretty good. Similarly to doing gens in less time, you're gonna be chasing for longer, or completely dropping chase.

I'm not sure it's the base gen speeds as much as it's bhbr giving survivors so many tools that increase progress and they stack.
However it would probably be better for the overall game health if survivors had to do more to repair gens. Like collect parts to be able to make a certain amount of progress so that way they are moving around the map now often.
Base gen speeds are problematic alone too though. Finding your first survivor after everyone already stealthed to different gens and the chaser\only needs to last a minute and a half is pretty much grits for the killer if the killer they're playing isn't an A tier or better. there needs to be a required side objective for gens, but also it needs to have a good reward or tradeoff, like finding gas after half the gen is repaired and then filling the gen will stop the gen from regressing past a certain percentage, or a part to install, something thematic. Gens are boring to do, but also they are easy to do and really fast with good positioning, which is where SWFs or just full teams of experienced survivors shine.

Of course he won't, and he can't. Whereas I have undeniable proof that Killer is horrible, and that survivor looks worse because of bad survivor players

It happens because 1) the matchmaking system is trash and 2) they don’t care that people are abusing VPN to get on servers outside their region.
It’s pointless to ask BHVR to do anything about this. It’s been asked many times with no response or action from BHVR. Limiting this would mean fewer players and no way BHVR is going to do anything to reduce player count, even if it means a worse experience for everyone else.
It has nothing to do with either of those. Matchmaking never puts you in the wrong server, and there's never too little players for it to need to do that anyway. VPNing to another region doesn't affect the survivors, only your own ms. This is a bug with DBD's servers that seems to happen when one player is further from their server and clos-ish to another one. The killer in the screenshot would be on 70ms if she was on east, I could tell because average ms for your home host is 50, and when east players are put on eu, your average should be 130. The Nurse was on 150, so potentially she was the cause of us being put on the wrong server because she lives closer to it than her normal server (NA-East)

Except for the most part survivor does need nerfs, it's been the stronger role since 2016, and tbh feels a lot more like the power role than Killer does atm. That's why the only killers survivors play against are A tiers or higher usually, because you need a mobility/strong anti loop power to win.

Unfortunately, the only way to reduce your penalty (yes, you need to reduce it first before it can completely disappear) is to play 20 matches without DCing or lagging out, which will reduce your penalty by one escalation. If you have a 6 hour ban, you're gonna need to play like 100 matches without lagging out for you to be able to DC once and not get one

(Seriously, this item was not that deep to deserve this treatment)
Don't get me wrong, old Fog Vials were actually pretty broken. Infinite uses was not fair for the effect that you got at the time. Now, you have a measly 2 charges (should be 4) and the visual opacity and audio distortion got heavily reduced, plus Potent Extract got nerfed into the ground. the fog effect is also only good on certain maps too, and weak on most others, it should be a healthy middle ground

Lately I've seen there's a ton which can be improved in the SoloQ experience, such as the communication with YOUR OWN TEAM. Let's be honest:
- It makes no sense I can't even see MY TEAMMATES' auras during the whole game. Whenever I jump into a SoloQ match, the games feels like I am playing a 1v1 against the killer instead of a 4v1, I have no idea where my teammates are and therefore I can't heal without carrying a medic kit (which isn't infinite at all).
- There is NO WAY TO COMMUNICATE. It is incredible hard to play this game when I have no information about the killer's location or any other important stuff. What the hell am I suppossed to do in the middle of a chase if I have no information about which zones are unsafe and which zones are safe? Whan can I do against a stealth killer if I have no information about his current location? How can I protect my teammates without chasing them across the map, losing a ton of time, if I can't see their auras nor communicate with them?
- The MMR system and the RANK system is simply useless. Why do you guys even wanted to change the RANKS system? In the past it used to work way better than it does nowadays. I am in the lowest rank possible and yet I have to play a match against a killer whose skills aren't in the same level I am playing on. There's no way I am forced to play against The Ghoul using META builds when I am starting at the game and have no knowledge about perks and my teammates are in the same situation than me.
IMPROVEMENTS:
- Make it so I am able to see my teammates auras during the WHOLE game, it is not fair I got to use certain perks to have the information of something as simple as knowing where my teammates are.
- Add some kind of communication, such as pre-written messages which I can use by pressing number combinations. ("The killer is…", "The killer has…", "Do not rescue, focus on generators", "I need a heal", "Tank a hit for me", etc etc.)
- Remove MMR completely and bring back the old rank system, it was way more effective and didnt force you to play against 5000+ game hours people every match.
- Force killers to play as survivor every 3 matches, and so the same mechanic forces survivor to play as killer every 4 matches. This will help killers to be more conscient about how unfunny tunneling and camping actually is, and at the same time it will make the survivor mains realize going as killer is not as easy as they think
Communication without VC could be fixed if they officially introduced Clock Callouts as a method of locating things like Teammates, objectives, the killer and their belongings, etc.

They should honestly bring back losing collision, they could even make it so you only lose collision with the killer and not with other survivors to make it harder to intercept hits since you can't stand on top of the other survivor. It benefits literally everyone. People getting legitimately tunneled can't be blocked in order to burn their endurance timer and simultaneously you can't use it aggressively, it's the best of both worlds.
That, as well as the inability to interact with the unhooked survivor (i.e.. m1, power hits) that way they can't weaponize their endurance, but also won't get two tapped off hook.

Well, wouldn't you want to try and secure your kill? I guess if you wanted to leave so badly that would be fine
-
@Clayton said:
I wish there was an Abandon Option for Killers when the gates are powered or opened, and if the Killer does so, the Survivors will be counted as them having escaped. There are a lot of games where if the gates are powered and you don't have anyone on hook to camp or an endgame scenario that leads to a Kill, or if the Killer is giving up, an abandon option for them when the gates are already opened or powered would allow them to concede a match they already were losing if they wish not to keep playing and go on to the next one. Survivors can already abandon when they're all slugged, so why can't Killers abandon at the end of the game too if they are already losing and wish not to keep playing that match?
This isn't a thing because you can simply force them out of the trial. you even get more points and potentially someone fumbles and gives you a kill/hook for free. As for if you have someone hooked and you get this abandon situation prompt, you're getting a free kill which survivors may have been attempting to save, which is not fair for them. The difference between the slugging situation and this one is survivors have lost when they're all on the ground (unless they have anti slug perks) whereas with the hooked i end game situation they still have a chance to save. Robbing them of that oppurtunity to grant a free kill isn't fair.

Exactly. there's nothing wrong with slugging the second to last survivor to 4K, that's a strategy killers have been using for ages, and it's kind of risky if pick ups and resets do occur.
