So I just leaned from the Reddit forum that BBQ isn’t all that good. “Meh” seems to be the consensus. I feel so stupid. Apparently everyone only runs it for the BP.
I always wondered why every survivor I play with runs both prove thyself and we’re gonna live forever. Oh wait, they don’t.
Running the most popular information perk in the game and saying it’s for BP is like saying you read playboy for the articles. ######### off liars. ######### is OP.
You are wrong here. After playing killer for a long time, you don't need BBQ to tell you where survivors are. You pretty much know and can track them easily. Also thrilling is better for that anyway. But, what you do want are those bloodpoints.
-
They just need to get rid of ranks, IMO. My friend is red rank survivor in his first month playing this game. So who really cares at this point. You can be red ranks with thousands of hours and be matched or paired with red ranks with 40 hours in the game. So silly.
-
I think it is a very balanced perk. You get a very powerful perk that has a clear counter. It entices the killer to leave the hook as well rewards them for playing well.
-
Play how you want, but I mean, who cares about someone else's guide. I play how I would like to verse. So, if you are okay versing a slugging killer at 5 gens, I wouldn't worry about it.
If , on the other hand, you feel bad about it, then maybe don't do it. I mean, that game doesn't look like it was fun for anyone. And 20,000 points? I would have toyed with them a bit to at least get some points out of the match.
But, each their own.
-
Over or under 21?
-
I know, I thought of this after my 5th straight game versing the Plague. Like, c'mon on this one.
-
I don't believe anything is toxic except end game chat. If it is in the game, not a cheat or an exploit, then personally I don't view it as toxic. Maybe somethings put the F U in fun, but still not toxic, IMO.

Yeah I've made a full build dedicated to wraith Myc devour undying and like bbq or something. Hiding is your only option unless they are in basement then they are dead
Me as well. This build is so nasty on him. I do, devour, MYC, BBQ and either Undying/Haunted. Don't even need gen slow down after you get a hook or two. Then it is constant hiding and finding one hit down survivors.

Eh, I just d/c when I face crap like this. Got a game where Wraith was running Devour, Ruin, and Thrill. All 3 hexes spawned next to each other and he camped them after triggering Devour and kept hooking people between them. Automatic loss, since he was using the aforementioned addons, so he could see us and we couldn't even see him most of the time.
Not worth playing it out.
I certainly don't condone DCing. But I can understand your frustration with builds that synergize this well with a killer's power and addons
-
I agree, I'd rather face the Twins than the Hag^^

Also happens with healing a dying survivor on the ground. I've tried to heal a slugged person only to stick a bandaid on myself and immediately go down next to my 99ed friend.
It feels like the problem happens when you get hit. The option to heal yourself is the default and gets overridden when you come into contact with a prompt to do something else, but being hit seems to reset your locational prompt data or something, because Heal Self goes back to being the top prompt until you move and the game acknowledges there are other things you can be doing on this tile. Which is why getting hit at exit gates/hooks/crisis spots becomes such a problem - you only have a few precious seconds to act, and you can't waste them moving (nor do you expect to have to.)
Yeah, this happened to me the other day. Tried to vault a pallet in chase, no healed dude on the ground instead.
-
Always be happy my friend!! When you have the option anyway!
-
The end of "The Outsiders" when I was a young person reading it for the first time. Poor Johnny!
-
I don't think they will ever be able to fix the match making. And purple killers facing red rank survivors has been the norm for years. Also, you are correct, smurfs, on both sides destroy the appearance of acceptable match making. I think that is why the MMR tests look so off. People just screen shot smurf accounts being paired with high rank killers and cry....boo hoo...look how bad MMR is. Knowing full well they were smurfing. and MMR may have actually been correct.
And, I know this wasn't the case in every situation, but I am sure it was ,often enough. I think they should just remove the damn ranks and let us play. You win some and you lose some. You curb stomp and you get curb stomped. Or at least make it so you only depip one rank color. And never more. Why should a former rank 1 be a rank 20 just because they haven't played in a bit?
-
It is amazing when solely viewed from a kill rate perspective. I have often felt my kill rate was somewhere around 3.5 to 3.7 as well. I am guessing you are experienced as killer.
I admit my rate has dropped a bit as I now play by self imposed rules, but I still average almost 3 kills a game. Of course, this is not going to go over well for those that want to say killer is too hard or SWF is OP. But, I appreciate the data and the food for thought.

Sounds like you're envious of his gigantic lunge.
It doesn't matter how big it is, it comes down to how you use it
Only people that say this, are the ones with little lunges. 😁
-
I know I have thrown this out there a lot. But my buddy just got the game and is a rank 3 survivor running technician. Because, yes he still misses skill checks. He was red ranks in like 2 weeks of playing the game. Ranking up in this game is silly.
-
The big question is why does SWF continue to grow? It is because Solo has lost any sense of teamwork. It has become a competition for the hatch and pips. That is why people want to play with friends. So your teammates have an obligation towards each other to do objectives, saves, take hits, etc.
It is why, less than great killers, want to face nothing but solos.
-
I love to run this combo, with BBQ and Devour and all seeing. That way the unhooker can't hide. Combine this with silent bell and it's pretty much ggs.
Only way to really win is like with many killers, gen rush. But, of course that gets hard to do when everyone is exposed and I know where you are at.
Definitely a lethal combo.
-
Isn't that the purpose of the forums tho? To come, complain, discuss maybe the occasional praise for aspects of the game.
-
Yeah, I replied in a post the other day about my buddy hitting red ranks in 3 weeks of playing the game. He is running technician. It breaks my heart, survivor is ridiculously easy to pip. Sure he is boosted as #########, but whatever, he is red ranks, right?
-
For me it is "toxic" and "entitled". People really need a thesaurus.

I know some people have a problem with bloodlust. People complained about it like crazy. For those who dislike bloodlust thats how you counter it. But those were my thoughts on bloodlust. In most cases if you are playing well you shouldnt have chases long enough for bloodlust.
I certainly agree with your here. My point is that DH does indeed counter a blood lusting killer, which unfortunately you can run into quite a bit. I guess the difference for me would be that one is an addon (iri head) and one is a perk. And I, personally, don't believe an addon should override a whole perk slot.
But, thanks for the discussion and engaging in a thoughtful way.

all you're doing is stoking the survivor vs killer and "devs favor this side" narratives. nothing good can come out of your thread.
That is one opinion. But as other's more familiar with me would know, I am very much a 50/50 player as well a strong advocate for playing how a person wants to. It is a fair question if someone makes a thread talking about double standards and a particular perk, to explore said "double standards." As well to be curious about the OP's opinions since they were the one's that chose those terms.
Is that not what the forums are for? And does DH not counter Blood lust? But thanks for chiming in!

If you get bloodlust as a killer then you obviously need help. In a game where the killer is supposed to be powerfull having something to equalize the odds if the killer is underpreforming is fair. If you dont like bloodlust just play around a mega safe pallet untill he is forced to break it (lord knows there are plenty of mega safe pallets in the game)
I did not say I didn't like bloodlust. I asked what your thoughts were on BL and pointed out that this perk directly counters a Blood Lusting killer. Which many killers will do . And is a mechanic in the game that could use a counter like DH
-
Small game buff is a direct counter to NOED. If you dislike NOED, run Small game and become a hero for your team.

Dead hard, is far from fine dude. because unlike every other exhaustion perk, It literally gives you a second chance after you mess up during a chase, lithe and balanced landing are more used to get to a stronger loop and such, dead hard is pathetic. If you think dead hard is fine then man you've never played killer or experienced the power of it against you
So you think the person with over 4000 posts doesn't understand the game nor the perk?
What are your thoughts on Blood Lust? Dead hard is a perk that gets used maybe two times a game on average. It is easily baited out in a lot of instances. And directly counters a blood lusting killer.

I think I might remember that game. That was still when I was learning Trickster so I don't exactly remember if I did good or bad lol.
I know you 4k, if I remember it correctly.

Hm I can't quite remember that round if I went against them. Name kind of sounds familiar how long ago was it do you remember? I go against a ton of streamers so I can honestly never remember a lot of their names. Some of them I do though lol.
I think he's faced you a few times. But I believe the last time I remember was as trickster at Lerys. About a couple weeks ago.

Which streamer? I uh have gone against a lot of them lol.
My favorite is a smaller streamer named Longlivmac
-
I have seen you play in one of my favorite streamers. Ggs!!!
-
I think they said go play Civ 5 or something.
-
Stop camping
-
I have about 20 games worth of all seeing blood on Wraith.
So, I'm ready!
-
Play however you like.
But, I also refuse to tunnel anymore. It has overall been a positive experience for me, games seem much more chill and I have more fun trying new builds and killers
-
I think all of them except trickster and legion, I am confident I could give them a run for their money.
And Clown, I know my cardio game is better than his, so I'm out, and with my tolerance, that bottle ain't doing ######### to me.
Everyone else tho........damn
-
Yeah the timing is much more difficult

you ever fought a swf with flashlights even with camp buit in his kit i only got one kil
I have fought them all my friend after 4 years, mostly killer.
We all face others with more experience than us . From time to time. There will always be a 1k or 0k game. Or else us killers would grow too cocky.

it is quite easy to to beat bubba either blind him mid chainsaw distract him have him hold chainsaw with cause tantrum i have a match where i lost and doing the last thing i can do i camped but i lost because surviour blinded me so i coudnt see saw i use a charge but in that window there were able to unhook into bt then they went into a loop which used all my charges then one surviour was full heath so he looped a tight corner and when i tried to wait untill endgame collapse he sprint burst away while everyone left through hatch he not op if u know his weakness.
I never said he was OP, just that his camping potential is strong as well easy to do.

It's a pvp game.
Sometimes your opponents will do things that are not fun to face.
I get it sucks, but at no point is your opponent responsible for making sure you have a fun game.
I don't think I said that they were. I was referencing the design of Bubba makes it quite easy to utilize these tactics.
-
Yeah, I can't stand people that use an exploit.
And what is up with the comments vilifying you, and excusing their behavior. Is this what the forums are becoming?
Sorry you had to deal with this, good job countering these shameless exploiters.

im not promoting camping but you cant get banned for camping plus you can also get two down with prymaid head
No I agree. It is completely part of the game. But I think we can agree that Bubba can totally do it a little too well. I mean he can saw through BT and still get you down.
-

no if bubba facecamp run ds while everyone do gens plus he loose point by staying by the hook
Yeah, but that doesn't change the fun factor, nor the ease at which this supposed tactic can be done.

Because people can’t take no longer having a 60 seconds get out of jail free perk because now it deactivates if you self care are healed touch a totem touch a gen heal anyone else do a unhook so it’s no longer abusable
Agreed. I guess like many have said previously, it was about abusing it, not preventing tunneling. I still think it is a great perk and will keep it in my build. But like I said, nothing really changes for me.
-
I still bring it. Every game. It works exactly as before for me. I would always heal as soon as I could anyway with my super fast medkit. So I have no idea why someone would stop running it if they were indeed worried about tunneling.
-
I do. I like reading others' thoughts and perspectives. Sometimes I agree, sometimes I disagree.
I have had my mind changed on occasion and generally just enjoy the community and being active in the current events of the game.
-
Rank is bullshit. I had a friend hit rank 4 playing just 3 weeks. No #########, they are running technician because they miss skill checks....as a red rank.
At this rate they will be a rank 1 in their first month of playing the game. Running technician. Smh!!
-
@Crypticghoul said:
His base kit is finally in a decent spot but I think all seeing blood and silent bell could use some negative trade offs for equipping them as they are a bit ridiculous.
Otherwise my only gripe is that his optimal playstyle of hit and run is quite boring to play against. But he's pretty balanced and very mid tier post buff.
Yeah, all seeing with silent bell. Slap on some MYC and BBQ. Ez 4ks.

dbd takes all the best bits from prophunt and hide and seek, slaps a bunch of horror movie paint on top and delivers a tense and exciting game where you never know quite what's gonna happen next.
Are you sure? I'd say after four years, this game is quite predictable about what will happen next.
