My only complaint is I can't do survivor animation resets cleanly. I understand all the changes, I just wish the first click, was smooth instead of a forced zoom in.

This is, by far, the worst chat filter I've ever seen in any video game ever.
I'm not exaggerating and I'm not some blind BHVR hater. Just saying, it is impressively bad how they managed to screw it up this much. Please just give us an option to turn off the chat filter.
It really is such a bad filter, I can't even type albert wesker or certain things, obviously we players all know this. I don't understand why it's such a sensitive filter. In a game that you literally slaughter people. I understand racism and all that garbage, and certain words that are to be rude, but seriously, can't even turn if off? I hope BHVR reads posts like these and take it into account.
A lot of the times I try to compliment or say something nice and it's filtered. It's not good!

nah man its called fun, doing the same thing over and over, stressing, not enjoy any side, that's very fun
Man I think you've taken games like DBD for granted, and don't even realize it yourself. Video games aren't for 1000 hours of gaming, if you're able to get that much time into a game, that's pretty amazing. Any game is the same thing over and over. Fun is subjective anyways. If you don't enjoy your side or any side. The game isn't for you man, or you experienced everything and the game ran it's course for you. You did everything and now need something new. It's not that difficult. You don't find it fun simple as that bro. It's been 3 years and you still play and not have fun? Whatever I've written or said or what anyone has said. It's a you problem. Stop playing.

you know reaching Rank 1 or Iridescent was the main objective of the game, but now that it doesn't matter, what are we exactly playing for?
certainly not blood points or shards
i would say fun, but let's be honest the last time i had proper fun in this game was in 2019
so what's the point for either side ?
i know some of you will tell me survive and kill but every game has a end goal and for dbd it got removed with the worst addition to ever get released SBMMR
i would say the Totem challenges and levels but tbh they don't even feel rewarding ,some few miscs and lore pages that will probably hear once and forget about them, tbh i would be a bit nice to like offer 100 auric cells after reaching level 100, which is you know kinda of impossible tbh, like i grinding the hell out of the saw totem and barely managed to reach 80
but you know at least we can look forward to something i guess?
if u are gonna tell me just stop playing the game, just save it, if everyone took that opinion to heart, nobody would be complaining or playing k?
Because the game is fun, don't play a game you don't enjoy. Challenges, ranks, bloodpoints etc, they're all just things to grind for and to make the game feel "rewarding" a progression system in video games are important to people, to show off and to feel like the time they put into the game is shown. At least I think so! It feels good to work towards something.
People complain because they love the game. They want to see it succeed. They want to enjoy the game more. We complain because those aspects of the game will ruin the fun of things. If you haven't enjoyed the game since 2019 man, why play it? Video games are for entertainment and socializing. Though I would say, instead of "complaining" constructive criticism and showing our feelings in a less immature way is important.
-
I love how people wanna remove fun from a video game, making posts saying "remove SWF" It's silly. Buff Solo Que, add more ways to communicate or show what's going on, one of my favorite suggestions, the indicators on the hud if someone is on a gen or getting chased etc.

Happy to see a post like this. It seems like some people are having trouble with his reduced hit box size. But so far, I also think he is such an amazing designed killer, and that's because he is so fun to play as and go against. And I think his hit box is pretty much perfect the way it is.
Just generally an incredibly well designed killer, that allows for a great amount of mindgames and counterplay, on both sides.
I agree, going against and playing as him is very fun, really enjoying the killer. I personally do not like the new hitboxes (thought I do believe it needed to be smaller) but it's something I think I just have to learn. Aside from a few clunky parts of him I've experienced. Very well done!
-
@OrangeBear said:
All i will say is they definitely reduced the hitboxes on virulent bound way too much. Wesker feels so much weaker than expected.
The survivor perks are better imo. better than new on the ptb was worthless.
Awakened awareness is very weak.
Blast mine nerf.... we really need some communication on that one.
Couldn't agree more, playing as Wesker with the current hitboxes feels really bad, maybe I just need to get used to it, but I def have been robbed from a lot of hits.

Old DBD was a mess, but there is certain things I miss. Old maps before the reworks, old animations, hell even the old models. Gameplay wise though, DBD is the best it's ever been in that way. I really miss the old lighting and textures, it felt a lot more grim, along with the fog. Something about the beautiful dark / blue of the MacMillan maps was just so nice. Though the animations could use some tuning, I miss how lively the characters were and actually looked scared, turning there head back and forth. They just felt more fluent I guess. I def miss being scared as survivor though, but that's just how it is when you get used to something.
I wish there was a toggle to turn on old animations and old textures for yourself. That'd be awesome.

It's the wrong call, they should have just added a basekit sprint burst, instead of giving survivor a 10 second body block perk. It just makes hook trades worthless for killers.
If they body block, just tunnel them then.
-
10 second BT and 10% haste is a lot better. 5 seconds was just not enough. It's too easy to wait out 5 seconds. Pair this with BT at times, sounds fair to me. Great change Behaviour! I love hitting the enduranced survivors, get those juicy STBFL stacks.

Yeah yeah I know it was OP, and this is not a "bring back old DH" thread at all. But you could do some crazy DH plays, and it felt fun to do. Now all other exhaustion perks are pretty boring gameplay. Press a button you run fast, vault and run fast, get hit and run fast longer, land on your feet and be fast..fun? Not really.
So my point here is we need more perks that is fun to use as survivor, that stands out like DH did and creates some variation in gameplay, without being OP. I hope devs can be a little creative and give us somthing fun that could stay as it is.
I actually find new Dead Hard a lot more fun, timing the hits feels a lot more rewarding and skillful, and now I can take hits for teammates if done properly :D!

MoM nerfed! Yes, BHVR! Congrats! You fixed biggest DbD issue ever. MoM was so busted, it def needed nerf! Good job!
Thana was issue on Plague and Legion. After this nerf, it is still issue on both killers. But perk is dead for other killers. Terrible nerf.
PR buffed and PR + DMS combo also back! Another great job here. PR was so weak, i am glad you buffed it!
No need to say but tunnelling and camping did not addressed ofcourse.
The Mettle of Man nerf was one of the most questionable choices, I've ever seen the devs make.

When it comes to cosmetics usually women characters get a lot more. Happens in most games. Hell, just look in the real word at a clothing stores. But, yes, as someone who usually only plays the male characters it would have been nice.
Yeah, Fortnite has the same issue. Female skins get all the attention, all the extra styles, rereleased but the male counter part skins don't get it. It's a real shame. Make more Male skins! make good ones too! A lot of Male skins are ugly.

Love seeing survivor mains tea bag and click at killers while at safe pallets, then get salty in end game chat when the killer hit them on hook a couple times. These players are mentally children who can dish it but can't take it.
It is sad that bhvr encourages this behavior by actively making the tea bag animation better. It's one thing if you're unable to change the behavior b/c some players will always be 13.But the dev team incentivizes the "poor winner" attitude. Now survivors can stack endurance for more tea bags! Seriously hope that gets addressed before release.
I would agree, if you BM but can't handle BM back, that is ultimate baby rage. It's pathetic. If I BM, I expect it back, and I laugh. I always see it as a mutual thing.
I think it's silly to say they encourage it cus the animation is better...

tbh I think the lack of emotes in dbd is what makes it so toxic, in Friday the 13th it's a lot funnier than it is toxic, I think the solution is not punishment but actually positive emotes
I agree, they should add more emotes in the game, would be fun. Instead of the good ol tbag, could use silly emotes too.

Crouching up and down in a video game man. Ain't that serious bro. I'm a killer main. I get tbagged, clicked, macro'd, everything in the book as everyone else experiences. It's all just for fun and games. As long as they are normal humans in end game lobby. What I consider toxic is when people start flaming you. Whether it's calling you bad, bringing up the real world and so forth. Let Bad Manners be in game and only in game stuff. All for the fun of it.

Here's what i know right now, i hope (exactly i fear) i understood everything correctly:
All characters on P3 before the update will receive some kind of icon. Ok, that seems some kind of useless reward for the grind - remember the grind was: doing at least 3x50 bloodwebs to reach P3, while loosing all perks and unused addons/offerings after each step.
Chars not on prestige are now forced to prestige because of a special bloodweb, but they retain all perks and addons/offerings while gaining a prestige level. So this isn't any disadvantage.
Now what really bothers me: you said that you'll give free prestige levels to chars depending on the number of perks they have. So people that never prestiged get the prestige for free now and keep their stuff.
If this are the facts i think this special icon doesn't reward you for going the hard way (like legacy did long ago), it just flags you as a fool for wasting your time and loosing your stuff.
Def gotta say the reward is very lackluster, wish they did something cool for the community that worked hard for P3, and was willing to lose things for it too. Imagine some sort of simple legacy but in blue color? random example, but why not a cosmetic people who love and enjoy? for the default skins. though I understand licenses wouldn't work, but maybe for the other characters, licenses could get something else. It's such a bummer man!

They are buffing gen speedperks so doesnt really matter that 10 seconds does it? We get what 2% faster kicks ..oh wow :D
Well see how it is in PTB changes, they are trying to make the game better for killer obviously. If changes are needed, it will be made, along with tunneling and camping.

Huge difference between "toning down" a perk and rendering it unusable. They could have made it not activate against killers with the undetectable status to help stealth killers. Also the vault speed really didn't need to be nerfed, I never saw anyone say vault builds were meta.
Sure I agree, you shouldn't kill off a perk just cus it's meta and render it useless. That wouldn't be a bad idea for stealth killers. Imo, I think they should have kept the vault speed but, nerf it a bit. I don't know, I think the 9 percent vault speed is kinda cheap. This comes from a person who used vault speed builds. I'm not too sure though. Well see how PTB is and if they make changes.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/329680/gen-rushing-in-the-event-is-out-of-control
I really don’t understand the complaints about “genrushing” as if it’s something that shouldn’t be part of the game. Completing generators is literally the objective of the survivor side, and why shouldn’t they try to complete it as quickly and efficiently as possible? Same goes for the other side and complaints about camping and tunneling. Complaining about how one side or the other completes their objective seems very pointless to me.
Instead, let’s talk about game design. Why are survivors gen rushing and why are killers camping and tunneling? Let’s answer those questions and hopefully make positive changes to the game based on the answers to those questions
I do get your point and agree with most of it. But as a killer, if you get in a chase and gens pop when you've only been in chase for so long, maybe it's a problem with gen speeds, and correlation of how long it can take to down a survivor. High MMR wise. A good survivor, can utilize windows and pallets, W key and neighboring tiles so well, and gen speeds time are just too fast in my opinion. I'm not here to say I know everything, just what I believe and feel from my experience, from both sides!
-
Yeah, it's only insane how fast gens go. As a person who plays both sides, even when I am as survivor I'm like... dude it's been 2 chases and there is 2 gens left with no hooks lol.
-
@Hannacia said:

What do you mean killers got nothing? Killers were buffed and survivors nerfed. Don't be a cornball. Gens take longer now, of course they will nerf gen regression perks.

"Spine Chill will now only activate if the Killer has a clear line of sight to the Survivor."
How lovely. I've always wanted a perk to warn me a killer was looking at me when i can literally see them on my screen.
Maybe you could also make it so if my camera isn't facing the right way it doesn't trigger? Just to make sure it's absolutely 100% useless through and through.
Fr tho, the idea of using a perk to tell me "hey the killer is coming" when they're literally RIGHT HERE is too funny for me to actually be mad. Love how killers wanted it nerfed against stealth killers and now the perk will only be useful against literally invisible killers, and not even that much.
The thing is, getting spine chill through a wall, how corny is that? Especially for stealth killers. Maybe they should have reduced the vault speed instead of removing it completely, but I'm not sure. You have to remember they want to shift these perks away from meta. So toning it down so it's used less often, it's also it's purpose. I do think Spine Chill will be completely useless, besides niche scenarios, maybe end gate or on a gen about to finish and that percent helps a lot. It will still help with stealth killers as well.

If anything DS needed a buff more than a nerf since the last change made the perk only work as anti-tunnel perk. 5 sec stun wasn't even enough against killers like Nurse/Spirit/Blight. Keeping in mind the perk only work once per match.
Now it's nerfed (again), to be 3 sec only and dosen't work in end game. Why? Because some streamers (for some reason) still hate it. But hey now we have 5 sec haste effect! Obviously tunnelling will stop now!
Solo survivors gl.
Nothing to do with streamers hating it. That 5 second endurance and haste will make a big difference, you can't just instantly hit off hook, you actually have a chance, and the survivor who saved u, has a chance to body block and take a protection hit. We don't know exactly how it will be, but DS should be nerfed since there is buffs to prevent tunneling and things in that nature. Also BT and other perks make that effect even better. DS guaranteed u would escape end game, how lame is that? I think the changes are great. I never used DS that much anyways. I play both survivor and killer. We will see though, they'll be keeping an eye out on everything. I could be totally wrong about everything.
My concern is 5 seconds may not actually be enough, but we will see. and again, perks like BT and Off Record will buff those effects.

I'm still digesting the post, but honestly? I like...most of what was shown. Sad to see the bp gain from bbq and wglf go, but that's honestly probably my biggest knee jerk "dislike" from the update. This is...this is big. And I think it's going to make for a healthier game once the dust settles, I really do.
I'm actually a bit happy... since now I dont have to use up a perk slot from those perks, for me I always felt like I could only use 3 perks. Great changes.
-
I am also a bit bummed I couldn't get a mask for like Claud or Meg. I wish they also did those masks. Not to come here and act like I am not grateful for what they have done so far, just expressing my feelings on that.
-
@Smelessar said:
This is my first anniversary...how exactly does a survivor get the masks?
You have to get the invitation, before end game collapse. You most likely found one after end game collapse. Get an invitation, you only need to survive till end game collapse has started. It's okay if you die after it, you'll still get the mask! (that is randomly given to you, and its masks for certain killers and survivors!) enjoy your first anniversary bro <3.
(End game collapse is that big yellowish / red bar that starts to go down) so once exit gates are opened, or if you're last survivor and hatch is closed!
-
Maybe remove invincibility frames, it would make it a lot more fair, and dead hard would actually still be useful in loops for example, It'd still be the strongest exhaution perk still imo. I honestly don't know how else they could nerf dead hard, maybe nerf the distance but be able to avoid the attack still? I think I'd actually rather take that, then being able to gain another 3 minutes to a chase cus I was able to dead hard to a window. (I play both survivor and killer equally, so the pain on killer side, but also it's insane strength for survivor side I've experienced many times) We will see though, I trust behavior will make the right choices with the 40 perks rework.
-
I think the house windows are broken, and a lot of tiles around shack. I hope they at least change the windows in the house. Visually a pretty map as always, loved the outside barrier they did. Other random loops and tiles are good.
-
Yeah I sadly find him really boring to go against. I think him just being able to one hit down you, is really just lame, with the fact another survivor could be the reason you're getting one hit downed. I will say, he is a cool character and scary to go against. Just the actual gameplay of him is super lame and not interactive or fun. Really hope they rework that poor character.
-
@espooked said:
He anti loop. Which is zzz, however, I like him more than half the roster of killers we go against.
I think Artist's anti loop is the "zzz". His anti loop actually adds spice to looping, it's not some broken anti loop but more of a mind game ability. Like Nemisis tentacle, trying to dodge and weave, yet it's a pallet destroyer and anti loop ability (depending on the tile). All anti loop isn't zzz.
-
@Pepsidot said:
I find him quite fun to play against. He brings new mindgames to loops which spice up gameplay. E.g., should I run through shack or is he gonna burst through that locker?
If he uses remnant properly it makes it quite challenging to loop - good dredges force you to chain tiles together. Which is challenging but fun.
totally agree !
-
I enjoy playing against Dredge. I love his nightfall ability, and his teleports make it more interactive, you're never too safe from the killer even far away. I like his anti loop, trying to mind game and play around it, bait out his return to remnant form then W key gaining distance. I think it's great and fun.

i think u misunderstood my dude killer was never stressful until like the last year (boons) and i don't wanna control the game i wanna play it
im more of having fun, i don't care about a 4k or a 1k all i want is fun, but hey when u meet the same people running the same thing over and over u gonna start to see that ain't no survivor in this damn game wants you to have fun
and speaking of lockers when was the last time u used it to hide from a killer, cuz in all of my damn game literally no one even used them on dredge or without dredge
Okay, gotcha bro! I would agree, boons have made the game more "stressful" to be exact, CoH. Okay, that's fine. You.. are playing the game bro. Just because someone locks a locker, doesn't mean you aren't playing the game! I am glad you are on the side of having fun. Sure, the meta perks are very tiring, I most def agree, but why would the survivor want you to have fun? It's not there job to let you have fun. They are using perks at there disposable, given by the game. Luckily they are being nerfed with the perk reworks. You seem like you are entitled to it. (Lockers being used) It's not that common in the higher ranks, but it is there, and people still use lockers for head on and other things. It's not a completely unused mechanic. I've hid in lockers many times and still do.

the whole point is people just either spam something or just forget it even exists
you either forget that TV mechanic even exists with sadako unless she uses a perk or just spam closing lockers because ur other 3 SWF are probably gen rushing across the map
Well bro.... what can you do? They are using what the game gave them. It's a secondary objective nonetheless. I just don't know how you can complain about a counter play to a killer man. Do you want to have no counter play at all? Why are you allowed to do whatever you want? You know what I mean bro? You have to accept there is counter play, no one forgets those mechanics exist. SWF is naturally stronger, it always has been dude. I don't get your point anymore bro. Just take a break, you need a mental reset. I know you're frustrated from SWFs and feel bullied. You have to remember at the end of the day, it is a video game, you will have unfair matches, no matter what side, but killer may seem more unfair, since you're always alone and up against 4 people. I do sympathize with your frustration. Just don't let it blind you from things.

you clearly never heard of SWF
which kinda just umm how do i say this
gives a middle finger to anyone trying to play the game
Dude I have 1k + hours on the game. I mained survivor and killers, both level 1. I know the game, I know how both sides are. Naturally, killer is stressful dude, it's you against 4 other people, and many objectives. It's impossible to control everything, which leads to stress. That's why you need a break, to reset that negative mindset you have. If you main killer, take a break, switch to survivor for a more "chill" time. Come back to killer when you are ready, and realize you are one person, and only can control so much in the match. This post is not even about lockers anymore.

ik its suppose to "slow him" but when every single damn locker in the map is closed, what am i suppose to do just run around opening them because teleporting to them would alert the whole world that im coming from that CERTAIN locker, and i have been in this game for a long time i know what survivors were and what they are now
What you're supposed to do? Just teleport to them, and break through the lock, you're still teleporting across the map with that power. It just takes a little longer to break through. You make it sound like you're completed denied of any fun because it takes a little longer to break through a locker. Also, it's a secondary objective, instead of being on a gen, they're running around locking, lockers. I think you just have a very negative mindset of the game dude, just take a break so you can enjoy it. You have to realize that it's important to have counter plays, I don't think locking a locker is a really big deal. Not every survivor is out to get you, (if that is what you are implying) like you're a victim of toxic survivors.
If you are "sacrificing your mentality, and stress so the game can stay alive" I think it's time for a break. The game is meant to be fun. Dead by daylight, isn't a fair game. If you aren't finding enjoyment, stop playing. Come back later.
-
You're kinda chatting a bit bro, seems more like a random tangent. Not sure how locking, lockers is equating to playing like their mother's life is on the line. I get your frustrated, clearly why you made this post. It's not that deep. The point of the locking system against Dredge, is to deny him his power just a bit, a counter play. He is able to get out of lockers fast... locking it, denies him that speed, giving the survivor time to get away from the locker. I suggest taking a break, and coming back.

The old survivor animations, and the old graphics.
The graphics really felt more, grim and foggy, it was a scary world. The old animations showed the survivors were scared, they would look side to side, looking around while standing still. The animations had life to them. Your character would be hunched a bit, trying to hide there body.
The new animations, the characters are stiff, lifeless, they stare straight standing still. I think they did good with some new animations, but the standing idle and running ones, really doesn't give that vibe that you're trying to avoid death from some killer. The running animation looks like they're jogging in slow motion, it's bad. Not to belittle the work they put into it, or the new graphics. If anything I'd take old animations back with a little upgrade any day. The maps look great visually though.
Should have kept the survivors old visuals, sometimes things don't need change.

Windows 7 hasn't been supported for a long time now. Gotta upgrade bro. Windows 10 is great for what it is, besides some bloatware you can remove. It's simple and clean. Gotta let go of Windows 7 my man! It's why you're having issues.
-
If what I've seen and read about "crests" and all that, a crest for being prestige 3 on the old prestige system, seems like a "distinct reward" to me, obviously it's a guess, but seems like a possibility. We will see what they do, clearly they're working on it. Let's just really hope it's something cool. Personally, I wish it was some unique cosmetic, that's the best way to show off something.
The people worrying about Blood points, don't forget it's "character specific" Blood points wouldn't make sense, or Iri shards, and since it's not cosmetic, anything in the game currently, wouldn't make sense as a "distinct reward" that isn't cosmetic. Clearly it's something new they're gonna add.

An interesting thought really, if you could only use it once. I feel like it'd kill the perk and people wouldn't wanna use it. The majority at least. What makes you think people would still use it? You get more value on other exhaustion perks at that point!
