Well ... probably Leprechaun. It has a literal capital L and is a horror movie killer too.
I didn't think they'd go so literal, but that'd be pretty funny.
-
You could try and go for jukes at windows. Look like you're gonna vault it but then run to the side instead. They have to be pretty close on your tail, and they won't fall for it every time, but it can get you some whiffs.
-
For me it's Ghostface. Whenever I first see that red ring appear around someone's face, I audibly go "oh ####" because I know that if I become inattentive for even a moment I could suddenly find myself on the ground. The sheer panic I feel whenever I suddenly become exposed is also one of the scariest things I experience in DBD rn.

I play killer a lot, and I think why that is is because it offers the most variety in gameplay. Survivors all function the same, but playing different killers creates an entirely different gameplay experience. Playing Nurse is completely different from playing Doctor, which is completely different from playing Myers, which is completely different from playing Demogorgon. And even when killers have similar powers there are still things that set them apart. Huntress, Deathslinger and Trickster are all ranged killers but none of them play the same way. The perks killers get really compound this too. People like to talk a lot about what perks pair well together, but I really enjoy the conversation of what perks synergize with killer powers well. There's something very fun about using a perk and knowing that that killer benefits particularly well from it.
I do play survivor sometimes, but that will typically come from me wanting a break from the pressure that comes with killer. I do have fun viewing survivor as a learning experience though. Sometimes a good way to learn what certain killers can do is to play against them. I've got 2k hours and this game and sometimes playing against killers teaches me things I never thought to do with them. And there is definitely fun in comparing how others play certain killers. Both in comparison to each other and in comparison to me. Like I'll see demos that neglect their shreds and demos that neglect their portals, and there's something that makes me really happy about seeing a demo player who knows how to use his full kit of power.

Wdym by insta-heals?
Things that instantly grant a health state, like Adrenaline or For The People.

I'd be way more hyped if it weren't dropping on the exact same day as Final Fantasy XVI
-
Part of me kinda wonders if it should just go back to its old version where it goes on cooldown after vaulting.
-
Quite honestly, I think players have the right to decide whether or not they want to participate in any given match before it's started. If something in that lobby gives someone the feeling that their gameplay experience will be negative, I think it's perfectly acceptable to give them the option to act on those feelings.
And I'd much rather a teammate left before the match than during it. It wastes a lot less time for everyone involved.
-
People tend to have strong opinions on strong perks, whoda thunk?
-
I can get behind this, it would be a nice accessibility feature.
-
I haven't played it since the PTB, but my main issue with it was really that it was another map that the killer it debuted with sucked on.

I would just want to see difference between active and disabled camera from aura.
It kinda sucks when you switch during chase just to find out it's disabled.
I can kinda see why they woudln't do that though. That would essentially give you intel that you're intended to gain by actually looking through your cameras.

They can start with making EMPS less readily available and maybe not let them be used while running? They render his power utterly and completely useless.
I'm willing to bet that's something they're keeping an eye on since they reduced their availability since the PTB. Maybe they'll be shown they didn't go far enough with the emp nerfs.
-
Idk about OP, or even problematic, but it's strength should not be underestimated. Knowing exactly where to go for safety can extend your chase times by a lot.
-
I personally fall into the group of people who doesn't care about emotes and would prefer the devs spend their time elsewhere.
-
Maybe for Geography, since its about being familiar with the environment, it's activation could be tied to distance traveled throughout the match? We've never had a perk activate based on that, and it's definitely something that can be tracked since there are rift challenges tied to distance traveled.
-
The endgame mori system feels less like a buff to slugging and more like a way to prevent a person from dragging a match out by downing everyone then refusing to hook them.
-
Im just hoping they dont make Victor an AI based power. I like running around the map as him and leaping at people.

And people once called me "horny" for daring to ask for a Feng Min Crop Top...
Him being horny doesnt make you not horny.

As a killer main I completely disagree that killers need to be compensated for this. And even if it does result in camping being "completely dead", uh, good. It's the least fun part of the game for everyone involved. Sure I do it sometimes, but I never have any fun doing it, and usually when I do it it's to secure one final kill during the endgame, which you will still be able to do.

This man got squirrels in his pants

I have just under 9K right now. When I had more time to play I could rack up around 30K, and be able to get a cosmetic or two and still have enough to get the surv and killer for the next upcoming chapter.
Now that I don't have as much time to play I pretty much just use them for getting characters. Killer first and then the survivor when I get 9k next.
-
I seem to be lucky enough to get the cheaters who are blatantly obvious with their hacks. Last cheater I encountered was in the process of opening the exit gate a grand total of 10 seconds into the match. When I ran up to them they blipped out of existence.
The most common cheaters I see are the ones with hella movement speed, instablind from anywhere flashlights, instantly pick themselves back up, every perk in the game, minute long stun times, etc.
These are rather few and far between at least. Usually I'll see 1 every other month or so.
-
Iridiscent Shards dont get you those powerful iri addons.
-
For some reason its always the Kate PFPs.
-
I think the self-unhook is important if for making sure there's interactivity at every. I don't think a survivor should every be in a scenario where their only option is to just sit there and wait. Self-unhook gives survivors something to do while hooked, and could allow them to make a comeback.
-
This is kinda the killer equivalent of waiting at the exit gate until the EGC timer has all but drained, so my opinion on it is kinda the same as that.
Yeah it's frustrating, but changing a game mechanic just because some people use it to be mean sometimes is a questionable decision at best. I wouldn't mind the bleedout timer draining faster in these scenarios though, kinda like the inverse of EGC timer draining slower if someone is dying/hooked.

Bigfoot or a Wendigo. Any cryptid would be super cool.
I wanna see some Cryptids too, The Goatman specifically is one I want to see.

Yeah, at that point there's not really much else to do.
-
On my steam profile I have written "If you're checking my profile you need to calm down, it's just a game"
So naturally I absolutely love it when people start calling me by my real name cause I can just go "You checked my profile, you immediately lose this argument"
-
I haven't seen any Spirit players in a while honestly. It's been a really long time since I've seen a Hilbilly too.
-
When I get a bit bored, I try to go out of my way to use perks that I don't use very often and try to get use out of them.
-
I use stake out fairly regularly. I used to use Detective's Hunch when hexes saw a lot of use, but now that they've become less common I don't use it much. Tenacity I only ever run in full anti-slug builds, which I don't run very often cause I don't seem to get slugged very often.
His perks are solid overall, but Tenacity is definitely the weak link of the bunch.
-
I've never had this happen before, but it doesn't hurt to report it as a bug. If you include your log files that could give the devs some insight into what caused it.
-
I think I'll stick to ToTK this week instead.
-
SWF is something kinda interesting to me. It can be pretty frustrating at times, but I wouldn't call it the default..
I find it interesting cause when I go into a match I assume it's 4 solos. At some point in the match someone will do something that makes me go "oh, this is a swf right here, a solo queue dude wouldn't have known to or tried to go for that one" and it's honestly kinda fun recognizing that. Once I recognize its a swf I have to play differently. When I do something, I have to consider how they're communicating that, and how I could do something unexpected, or something that goes against the intel they just gave.
It kinda varries from day to day whether or not I feel like adding that extra layer of mindgame to my match. Some days its fun, some days I just wanna turn my brain off.

Wraith is a strong contender, all his addons are noticeabley transformative to his power, and each of them is useful in one way or another.
Doctor is also a strong contender for the same reasons. A large chunk of his addons adding new effects of madness makes his addons all feel unique.
Legion I don't think has the best addon kit, but deserves to be recognized still. A large chunk of his addons do unique things and can be decently transformative. Also the mixtapes changing his TR music is just the coolest thing ever.

i mean.. who even said the killer themselves have been hanging the charms on every single hook anyways?
Lorewise, the maps are generated by the Entity for every trial anew, with everything being created anew - that’s why there is RNG and not everything the same or how it actually was in the real worlds, right?
so maybe it’s the Entity that is hanging the charms on the hooks after all
(edit: well I guess you didn’t imply Nemesis had hanged them as well.. but still.. 🤷♂️ charms are here for player customization, representing yourself and I don’t see any harm there..)
I kinda feel like this point was more about tonal dissonance than who the charms belong to from a lore perspective.

You mean like killer add ons or perks that let you down someone immediately?
Those all require specific circumstances in order to activate the insta-down. BNP installation just happens.
-
Every single building is a powerful loop, it's painful.
-
Honestly I agreed with Dead Dawg as being the worst map for Cenobite in version 1. The small size of it means the lament configuration is never too far away, which you kinda want it to be in order to put on pressure for longer.

Y’all literally just got nerfs to medkits and COH now you want the syringe and BNP gone? You realize BNP only gives 15% now and that’s if you hit both hard skillchecks? Syringe takes time to kick in and if you get hit while it’s processing you lose it.
They do not need to be gone. Y’all just want every survivor item and add on gone at this point. 🤣🤣🤣
Surely you can see where problems arise when an addon allows you to do something that should take ~20 seconds in 5 seconds. Literally a quarter of the time it normally would take.

@Caiman said:
My only problem with the anti-camping mechanic is that it will work through floors, so a killer is punished for patrolling a different floor above/below the hook. But conversely, other survivors being nearby should also slow the timer through floors, which is a whole 'nother problem in itself.
That drawback kinda feels like a nescesary evil honestly, cause it would allow killers with teleportation abilities to disregard this system entirely if it didn't go through floors. We really don't need another situation where nurse is better than every other killer.

Woah, a chapter featuring a killer with a mix of flesh and technology that uses fleshy camera-like pods was announced during DbD's 7th year anniversary! I didn't really expect this to become a reality all those years ago. Still, pretty cool!
And it only took 4 years!
-
Keeping up with my goal to put these out as the killer's release, here is the stat block for the singularity! (Although technically early since he hasn't officially released yet).
-
The only killer Dying Light is any good on is Plague, since she ignores the heal speed given to obsession, and even then it isn't that strong since your early to mid game will be spent spreading infection instead of getting hooks.
-
He's definitely stronger than some people realize, but S tier is a huge stretch. Unlike the other killers in S tier, he has counterplay.
-
From a visual standpoint it looks amazing. The art department has never let us down. Can't really say anything about gameplay till the PTB though.

It had better turn off once the EGC activates.
The Survivor should not get a free goddamn escape when the Killer LITERALLY HAS NOTHING ELSE TO DO.
But knowing BHVR; It will not deactivate, and Survivors will get free escapes.
In 2 years; BHVR will change it, and Survivors will scream that the game is 'Killer sided' because they lost their EZ escapes.
Edited for a typo that made the post sound a bit lewd. My bad.
They said during the stream that it turns off during the end game
