Actually, things did change in regard to main even! It feels super lame now! While main event didn't get activated very often previously, it at least felt exciting to use because it basically turned you into a machine gun. Now it just fires a tiny bit faster than your base speed and all the excitement from it is gone.
Being able to use it more often was not worth the price of taking all the excitement and most of the power from it.
-
You underestimate how fun those two abilities are to a lot of people.
-
I use it every now and then. It's easy enough to activate that I practically consider it a passive intel perk, which is always welcome in a build.
-
I can really only recommend to the game to people I know regularly play online multiplayer games, since I know they're accustomed to trash talk and certain styles of playing. I've had friends express curiosity in the game that I have actually had to steer them away from it because I don't think they'd handle the player base particularly well.
It really is sad that I think this game is fun, but I can't recommend it to some of my friends because of the culture surrounding it.

This was in the FAQ -
Will new Stranger Things content come to the game?
We don’t have any additional Stranger Things content to announce at this time.
"At this time"
That could be BHVR speak for "because we're announcing it on Wednesday"

Not Really Horror at all, but Maze Runner. I think the Griever could make for a really cool killer, the Glade or Maze could make for a cool map, and Thomas and Theresa's telepathic link could make for cool perk concepts.
-
Even if it was, which I don't think it was, I'd much rather have an overnerfed perk than an overtuned perk,
-
Honestly, yeah I have dreamed about dbd. I've had a dream where I was the Artist hunting survivors down, and I've also dreamed about being myself as a survivor looping a Dredge for several minutes running from tile to tile. In whatever dream I'm having I seem to do really well in whatever role I play.
-
I have been seeing a lot of the same perks on survivors lately. Pretty much every match I see 1-2 Deja Vu, 1-2 Kindred and 1-3 MFT. I honestly don't think I've had a single match where MFT wasn't being used since it's introduction. I also haven't gone a single match without seeing Deja Vu since its buff.

Bruv I never rage quit , I just keep getting dced
Then you might want to wait until you can be sure your internet is stable. The matchmaking bans get put on you even if you get DC'd. And if you keep getting DC'd that penalty's gonna keep growing.

Honestly I would love to see a fully intact Nostromo and not just it's wreckage.

Prison, oil rig, amusement park, airport, campsite, cruise ship.
A prison is something that I've really been wanting to see in the game for a long time. Either through the West Georgia Correctional Facility from TWD, or through the Hellshire Penitentiary in Deathslinger's lore. I know indoor maps are pretty divisive, but going to one every now and then keeps things fresh and interesting I think and I kinda wish we had more.
-
I'm kinda sad about the times they chose to conduct the tests at. I'd love to participate in a playstest, payed or not, but they're only doing it on weekdays at times where I'm at work. Here's to hoping they open up more opportunities with a wider range of time.
-
Probably I'm All Ears. I run it on so many killers because being able to know exactly where someone is after they vault to break LoS is super useful info. Especially on killers that can capitalize on that info, like Slinger, Huntress, Demo, Executioner, etc. I once had a person DC on me after I used I'm All Ears to spear them immediately after they emerged from cover, and man do I chase the high that that caused.
-
Probably a bug, nothing's supposed to affect that.
-
Every time I try to play blight on Lery's it's an absolutely miserable experience. Plenty of stuff to bounce off for sure but my god do I struggle with the doors.
-
No. I try not to, but if I go back to hook to interupt the heal, and the only person I see is the person who just got unhooked, I'm not searching for the other person, I'm just going to chase the person I see. Also if gens are going by significantly faster than I'm getting hooks, I am going to tunnel on purpose because at that point it's what I need to do to get the match under control.
Short version, I don't go into a match planning to tunnel, but I won't throw to avoid tunneling and I will decide to tunnel if I determine it's nesceasry.
-
I'm going to be honest, outside the basekit BT we have rn, I dont't think an anti-tunneling system is ever happening.
-
It took me a bit to get around to it, but I have now adapted the Xenomorph!

I mean power struggle dosent really need good setup, if you running a power struggle build just go down on the pallet and you get away for free, and head on when ppl sit in a locker for 5 mins till you walk by and stun you out of chase it wasnt really setup it was more hte map is so tight you couldnt avoid it
Going down on the pallet only gets you an escape if you're also running flip-flop. At that point you're dedicating half your build to it, and it can still be countered by the killer picking you up immediately.
And people definitely do not just sit in a locker until you happen by. There is teamwork and coordination involved there. There are people going "Hey, are you in that building I'm running the killer to?" "Yeah, I'll get in a locker, try to lead him to the spot I'm at." Or at the very least, a solo queue is seeing someone in a chase, hearing a terror radius and then hiding in a locker. Running head on while solo queueing is a huge gamble anyways too.

remove pop and pain from that list, and overcharge is still better than the first iteration
Pop was nerfed. The change from X% to X% of current progress is a huge deal. The only time it'll do as much damage to a gen as it used to is if that gen is at
Pain Res traded consistent value for burst damage. If you're struggling to catch certain players it cripples the value you get out of it.
OG Overcharge didn't have a period of time where gen regression is slower than is typical, and going from max 200% regression speed to max 130% regression speed is a gigantic nerf.
-
My money is on Predator. Alien and Predator coming out sequentially would just feel right.
-
To be fair it does look pretty dope though.
-
Oni is fun for sure, but I can't imagine playing only one killer for an entire month would be particularly fun.
-
@Rudjohns said:
This perk is disgusting
No counter for the entire perk except for Calm Spirit and perhaps Vigil
But calm Spirit just hinders you by doing totems and chests 30% slower
Soon you won't scream from inside a locker, but that doesn't help at all when the killer can just spam the perk every 60 seconds
Also promotes slugging for the 4k
And you know whats funny? Apparently the perk works even if the killer gets undetectable at the same time they open the locker (the Huntress add-on)
Terrible perk, but hey, its not a survivor perk so no nerfs at sight
Acting like several killer perks haven't also been nerfed into oblivion in the past. Like Eruption, Call of Brine, Ruin, Overcharge, Pop Goes The Weasel, Pain Resonance, Thanataphobia, and Tinkerer. Just to name a few.
-
I'm kinda conflicted on this one. For consistency's sake, it would make sense. However, the amount of setup/specific circumstances needed to trigger these perks makes me feel they should be guaranteed to give good value if you pull them off.
-
Some sort of early game mechanic that is optional, but very helpful if you complete it. My idea was kinda an "Entity Shrine" thing. Gens are 50% slower at the start of the match, but if you find a special item (5 in any given match) and bring it to the shrine, that penalty goes down by 10%.
Numbers could always be adjustable and offers new gameplay without too significantly affecting the gameplay loop.
-
Had a SWF try that against me. Unfortunately for them I was playing Pyramid Head. So, uh, just know to pick Pyramid Head ahead of time I guess?
-
Nemesis + Twins might be kinda wild. Nemesis + Zombies + Victor + Charolette = Effectively up to 5 killers in a match at a time.
Same goes for Nemesis + Knight
Dredge + Huntress would be scary. It could be pitch black out and you suddenly get hit by a hatchet with absolutely 0 clue where it came from.
Sadako + Cenobite would be miserable, I'm sure don't need to explain why.
Oni + Myers could be a scary teamup if they can alternate their powerups consistently.
Plauge + Nurse would be terrifying, since the nurse would only need to get one hit in every chase.
Trapper + Pig would be a death sentence to anyone who ever ends up with an RBT on their head.
-
My favorite survivor is Jeff, and the reason for that is very simple. I look at this dude and go "omg, he's literally me"
I look really similar to Jeff, enjoy the same kinda music as him, and I also consider myself a quiet person who likes to find solace in creative endeavors.
Also I think his leather jackets are sick.
-
Typically I'll keep an eye out for specific addons I want. Like reload or miss cooldown addons on deathslinger, or the Iridescent cloth on Twins. If I see it I'll grab it and then let autospend complete the rest of the bloodweb.
-
I've done some lobby dodging, I'll admit. Pips were not any part of the reason as to why I would dodge, like they never crossed my mind at all. My only concern is how fun I think the match might be.

then don't step into it. as soon as you hear that holo break, jump or shield.
Imma be honest, idk who has that kinda reaction time. That piston triggers instantly.
-
They have similar uses but I dont think Ultimate Weapon Invalidates Darkness Revealed at all.
It's a similar effect that shines on different killers. Ultimate Weapon is good for killers that can move fast and Darkness Revealed is good for killers that can teleport. You use Ultimate weapon to scan the map as you go and Darkness Revealed to know exactly where to go.
I would much rather run Darkness Revealed on killers like Dredge, Freddy, Demogorgon, and honestly, Alien.
Meanwhile I would much rather run Ultimate weapon on Blight, Oni and Nurse.
-
Fixing a bug and adjusting a perk of debatable strength are two entirely different things.
It's not a killers vs survivors thing. Fixing something that isnt working properly is always going to take precedent over adjusting something that is working as intentded.
-
Killer Perk:
Hex: Possession
A hex that contains a malicious force. While this hex totem stands, all skill checks have a 25% chance of being a tremendously difficult skill check, which results in an additional 4%/5%/6% loss in progress when failed.
When this totem is cleansed, the person who cleansed the totem becomes possessed. Every skill check that the possessed survivor encounters has a 33% chance of being a tremendously difficult skill check, which results in an additional 4/5/6% loss in progress when failed.
When a possessed survivor heals another survivor to the next health state, the possessed survivor loses their possession and the healed survivor becomes possessed.
-
I don't know if this would be redundant, but maybe we could ask who the community's comfort pick killer is? Who people feel like playing if you just want to relax or don't know who else to play.
-
Deathslinger is probably my favorite. I think he's the most versatile ranged killer in the game, and that makes him very fun. He can hit very narrow shots, he can benefit from more perks than other ranged killers because his reel hits count as basic attacks, you can forcibly relocate survivors, you can wait to do your reel attack if you want to buy a few seconds, there are so many things that are just unique to him!
And his sound design is fantastic too. His TR music, the gunshot sound, reload sound, chain sfx, and his laughter are all great.
Also I share a name with him, which is honestly no small part of it.

I think they did it because that's how Chemical Trap works and I guess they wanted all of them to work similarly. After all they nerfed Wiretap from 33% to 50% for the same reason.
Boy I sure can't wait for gen tapping to also include installing Blast Mine, that won't get very grating very fast.

Yeah it wasn't in the patch notes but they removed the part from the description about needing to be on the generator for 3 seconds to install the trap so I'm 99% sure it's intended. They did the same thing with Wiretap.
Ok I tried it out in another match. Yep, that's how it works now. That's such a weird and unnescesary change and I'm wondering why they did it.
Nevermind to this report I guess.
-
@sizzlingmario4 said:
They changed it, you have to get off the generator and be near it to install the trap. I think it also uses the other ability button now.
When did that happen? I didn't see it in any of the patch notes. The only thing I saw about it was that it can't be placed on a gen with 0 progress.

Fair enough, I thought you were arguing "one down should always equal one hook" which is a point I've seen unironically posted here before, but rereading it should have been clear that wasn't the case, my bad. I didn't mean to misrepresent you but I did misunderstand when you were fairly clear and that's on me.
I would argue that you're wrong; the game is 5 gens + exit gates for survivor or 12 hook states across 4 survivors for killer. If 6 hooks + 1 down is a valid win condition for killer, then it should equally be fair for 4 completed gens (or fewer if a survivors have been eliminated) + 1 hatch opened with a key to be a valid win con for survivors. Slugging for the 4k after getting barely over half the intended objective done is, IMO, comparable to the old hatch mechanics in terms of bypassing the supposed standard win condition, and equally frustrating for the majority of the player base who plays casually for fun.
Oh ok, that was an genuine misunderstanding then, I thought you were doing that on purpose at first. Sorry for being kinda rude there.
I would definitely prefer that matches involve more than 6 hooks before getting to the two people left portion of things, and I feel like a decent chunk of matches do. I just don't think it's fair to the matches where more hooks than that happen before reaching that point if something were to be implemented just because of six hook matches. And I would definitely consider escaping through hatch to be a valid win condition for survivors. I don't think it should be a freebie by any means though. Hatch is like, "ok, everything else fell apart, but I'm giving you one last chance here". You should still have to put in some effort to be able to utilize that one last chance. And if a survivor can evade the killer for as long as it takes a person to bleed out and then find hatch and escape through it, yeah, I would still consider that a valid win for them.

the devs have, however, implemented plenty of in-game mechanics that allow survivors to avoid getting put on hook even after being downed. maybe instead of acting as if you're entitled to a hook... sorry, to a "kill" (your word) on downing a survivor, and then accusing others of being entitled, you should instead try reading the tutorial tips that teach players the various ways of avoiding getting hooked after going down, and then try rereading my extremely sarcastic post reminding you of those mechanics that directly contradict your assertion that down = hook or down = kill.
this isn't about me being bothered by anything, this is about you forgetting a large percentage of the features of this game you ostensibly play a lot of
You're arguing a point here I was never trying to make my taking my comment both out of context and as literally as possible. The discussion is about slugging for the 4k when there are two survivors left. I wasn't saying that each and every down should be a guaranteed kill. I was saying that in the scenario where there are two survivors left (the killer has already gotten a minimum of 6 hook stages while preventing the survivors from completing their objective), and a 4K is in sight and all he has to do to secure that 4k is leave a person on the ground for a bit, then yeah, he's earned the 4K.
-
I went against a team running this build and when I just slugged them all they called me humorless. Sorry for not wanting to be the butt of your joke I guess.
-
@ratcoffee said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3526304#Comment_3526304
exactly, thats why pink moris are base kit on all killers, there's only one hook state per survivor so killers can use them on first down, and why BHVR has never implemented mechanics that allow players to heal up from the dying state. a killer's managed to down a player once, therefore they deserve to eliminate the player from the game without any further necessary actions.
The devs never implemented mechanics that allow you to heal from the dying state. They implemented features in the forms of perk, there is a difference. Maybe you should start using them if this happens so frequently and bothers you so much.

Yes we do. Another solution would be make hatch spawn when there are 2 survivors left and killer has slugged other for extended time meaning killer risk both survivors escaping when being greedy for 4K.
Killer still has about 80% chance for 4K if he just kills 3rd survivor. Slugging for 4K is really most boring thing in dbd apart from survivors hiding just wasted so much time and should be fixed.
The killer got the down so he deserves the kill, its as simple as that really.

This was the exact reason that blind immunity was added to locker grabs. There were a small number of survivors abusing double locker setups that got blind immunity added for exactly this reason.
I 100% guarantee that 'slugging for the 4k' is way, way more common than double locker bully squads were.
The difference here is getting 4 kills is an intended design choice and locker blind loops were not. Killers are supposed to kill, and lockers are supposed to be hidden in. Slugging for 4k follows their intended design, locker blind loops did not.

What are they supposed to put at the end of the track then?
What do they reward players who get to 70 with if doing so is classed as predatory?
If spreading a set out across tiers 1, 31 and 69 is predatory, what would it be if they put the entire set at tiers... 61, 65 and 69?
Personally I've never found getting to 70 particularly difficult unless I've taken an extended break, and I also split my time between games. A rift usually includes at least one event tome as it covers about 3 months, and between all those challenges, that's usually more than enough fragments to complete the pass, plus we have double fragments right now.
I don't purchase Premium until I reach the high 60s anyway, so I'm not losing out on the full refund of auric cells.
Yes, 61, 65 and 69 would definitely be less predatory. It's the difference between going "ooh, you want the rest of this set, you better keep playing!" and "Congrats on making it this deep into the rift, here's a full cosmetic set".
Not everyone has the time to make it all the way through the rift, I have a full time job, friends I like to spend time with, and other games I also want to try out. For someone with my amount of time to spend on this game to get this full set it's basically I requirement that I spend more money on the rift than I already have, which is what makes it predatory.
-
Ok, I'm bringing this back up because this tome makes it looks like the Devs saw this post and then decided that they should do what they did with Permanent Injuction with Singularity but turn it up to 11. Needing to complete the ENTIRE regular track just to get the full set for both Singularity AND Gabriel. If what they did with Permanent Injunction was predatory, I don't even know what to call this. It's absolutely ridiculous.
