Not all the killers do this, ofc, but I've seen it a few times already since yesterday, and I only played like 7 matches since. I was the last player alive.
"Don't make me waste my time for your amusement. Not everyone has 24 hours a day to spend playing."
That part in particular brought a smile to my face. It's an ######### thing to do and I agree that Killer was taking it a bit too far, but it still feels good to hear that Killers finally can not become powerless for doing their jobs too well.
Killed 3 people? ######### you, the 4th can jump the hatch without anything you can do. That simply ruined the game if that Survivor chose to be an ass about it. Not everyone did, but enough did to make it horribly unfun for Killer to feel 100% powerless.
Those that seek revenge should dig two graves. But that can be worth it at times.

according to the stats, the game is balanced.
Most killers sit around a 50% kill rate, which is what they are shooting for. even if this wasn't broken down by rank.
That kill rate is freaking worthless thanks to it being a total value.
It says that PC Killers at their worst (Legion) have a 50% kill rate and at their best (Hag) has 66%. Overall that doesn't seem that bad but ti just doesn't fit their other data such as Survivor survival rates by rank. Ignoring rank 20 and 1 due to the current pipping system messing with that data too much and you have a 40%-60% split from rank 19 to rank 2.
That means Killers have a kill rate of 60 at its highest for low ranks and a 40% in high ranks. 40% kill rate is console Nurse levels of bad according to their Killer kill stats. Console Nurse is ######### painful to play with how hard it is to do anything. Poor FPS and analog control makes for near impossible blinks due to having no fine control and a Nurse without good blinks just can't do anything. And yet high rank PC kill rates equal to the WORST console total kill rates! Look at Killer use sorted by rank. High ranks (1-4) is dominated by Nurse thanks to Nurse being god tier but high rank kill rates is at their worst and Nurse isn't even LISTED in the PC Killer kill rate. The best Killer on PC, the most used ranking Killer on PC, isn't even listed in PC kill rates.
It just doesn't add up at all. One stat is countering another all thanks to one being sorted by ranks and the other not. There isn't enough data for us to work with to get any real conclusions, but what is given more or less confirms that Killers as a whole are underpowered when skill becomes a factor.
Survivors survive more often as they get more skill/rank, that means Killers kill less as skill/rank goes up. It makes a VERY poor game balance as one side has room to get better through skill while the other does not. Looking at perk use supports this as well.
Killer perk data is filled with perks that slow/stall the game or makes killing faster. Ruin and Sloppy Butcher both stall for time, BBQ and Nurse's both reduce downtime. All of them are focused either stalling for time or cutting time out. Meanwhile Survivor top perks are filled with NOTHING that helps them do things faster, just 2nd chances.
That reads to me that Killers are desperate to get their objective done and can't do it on their own. While Survivors don't have to worry about much and can purely focus on themselves instead of the team.

BHVR is not a top tier dev team. They got their start making B list, movie tie-in, or just junk/trash games in general. Look at their history if you want. It's filled with some good games, a few gems, but it is a lot of crap to be honest. A good chunk of their history is simply the games EVERYONE avoids or never played because of how bad they are.
Behaviour Interactive Inc. (French: Behaviour Intéractif Inc., stylized as bE HAVIOUR) is a Canadian video game development studio specializing in the production of 2D and 3D action/adventure games for home video game consoles, handheld game consoles and personal computers. When it came to making DbD they didn't do a good job at coding it. Near any change or new feature, somehow, effects more than it should and the game as a whole tends to break. That isn't a joke either. DbD breaks/bugs if you so much as look at it wrong when making changes/updates so they learned to take their time. Go slow with updates and spend time to get them right. Even then the work isn't high quality and several bugs go through with every new update.
If they pushed out updates faster then the game would be just broke pure and simple. I for one would rather wait for a functional game than to get content that isn't worth playing.

I choose not to play in blood hunts. Farming is horribly boring in my POV and if I play normally during a blood hunt people tend to just complain that Im "tryhard" or "no fun" for not farming with them. More so when they burn any form of points offering.
Id rather play the game instead of just standing there doing almost nothing. But as a lot of people don't want to play the game in favor of farming, I just play something else.

If you're on PC you should keep Task Manger open at all times to not only monitor your PC, but keep an eye on your internet performance as well.
Just keep TM open and showing your graph of data usage. Then tab out once in a while or when a problem shows itself to know for certain what is happening. Any spikes can cause lag, dips cause desync, and even a micro drop can cause disconnects.
Upload problems tends to be your end and download problems tends to be the host. If both then it is your ISP and/or the game itself.

I think an important question to ask is "Just how important is the Red Stain at all?"
If it were removed, how would it affect overall gameplay and how much of an impact would it have on survivors? How difficult would it be to adapt to the change?
I always thought it would make a match more tense by not knowing or not being able to see a killer clearly in the distance due to the red stain.
"Was that a Claudette or a Hag?"
"Did it see me?"
The red stain exists to give Survivors time to react to a Killer. Look at the Killer shack for an example and assume the stain didn't bleed through its walls.
With the stain the Killer needs to play smart to hide it or else a Survivor can see where he is going a moment before he gets there. "Is he going left or right?" That small moment of notice helps a LOT in giving someone time to react and helps with lag as well.
Without the stain a Survivor simply wont be able to react at all to the Killer without having direct line of sight. Making their reaction times worse as the Killer can get that much closer before a Survivor knows anything. When it comes to lag, having no time to react beforehand just makes what lag you have that much worse.
Removing the red stain will have an effect on gameplay. 100% certain of that and the forums will be filled with complaints of people being unable to see the Killer coming. It would be like Launch all over again when the Wraith of all powerful. No one could (or bothered to) see him coming so common thought was the Wraith was THE strongest Killer back then. But if that's a bad thing or not, I can't really say. Odds tell me the red stain isn't needed.
Personally, Id love to get a PTB that removed the red stain in the least. The devs think it is needed. But I want to see what the community thinks about gameplay without the red stain.

I could grab the quote if anyone wants me to. But recently a Dev pointed out that juking around a corner quickly wont save you from a chainsaw.
I think that comment in itself shows that the chainsaw is a touch on the OP side.
That being said, I'de be pissed if they changed it. I don't even play Billy. But I don't want to see killers get nerfed until they are in a better state. Ask me again when things are balanced
Are you talking about that chainsaw flick topic? Where you could turn his hitbox at the end of a sprint.
That hasn't been s thing in LONG time. Maybe multiple years by now.
-
You in the PTB or live game? In the live game all you need to do is just find another lobby to maybe pair with someone better.
PTB though you will be out of luck as dedicated servers don't give but one option and if it's bad you have no choice but to use it.

3 seconds will be a good optiob.
So back to what it originally was then. 3 seconds isn't bad, you get a near free hit with Frenzy but without ANY form of tracking someone good can lose you in those 3 seconds or at least use it to gain enough ground to reach some time sink. At 4 seconds though you simply don't have to be good to juke someone. Just run off and that near free hit isn't really worth much when they lose roughly more time than just landing a normal M1.
Every time Legion uses his power he eats a stun equal to being hit with a pallet or Survivor perk. That wouldn't be too bad if his power was worth such a stun like Nurse. But Legion just doesn't have that strong of a power, not even close.

If i remember correctly, back then the flick was that you could turn your camera quickliy during the chainsaw attack at the end of the sprint and still hit survivors . not too sure about this tho.
That's it more or less.
As it is now, when you end a chainsaw sprint you can somewhat look left/right but your attack hitbox is locked in front plus vanishes near instantly. If you don't run directly into a Survivor before letting go of M2 then you will not land a hit. Making it more possible to dodge a hit in general and Billy often could glance off of a Survivor.
Flick was when you could move your hitbox at the end of a chainsaw sprint. There was no dodging the chainsaw back then. If Billy got close, you got hit as he could end his sprint and turn into you. The hitbox also lasted MUCH longer back then and lasted almost the entire animation. You couldn't simply walk around a barrel, wall, or tree to dodge the hit as flick allowed Billy to somewhat follow you around it leading to some questionable hits. It got worse if he ran a long bar giving his chainsaw more range.
I fully miss having that flick, but I also fully understand why it had to go.

Im...still shocked by the remember me nerf and the pig nerfs....
Freddy is the only Killer I don't call by his in game name because he is just not worthy of being a DbD Killer. Too weak to be a threat and just isn't worth playing, but came with at least 1 good perk. Remember Me.
And now that is going to be killed off as well. Im questioning why I bought so many DbD chapters (all of them) and supported these devs even more by buying all Killers that had them cosmetics. They are just making already weak Killers worse with Legion, Pig, and somehow yet again with Freddy.

Question have you guys tryed the ptb first or did you just read the patch notes?
If it smells like crap, looks like crap, and feels like crap. Then Im not going to bother eating it as it's #########.
The PTB changes simply ######### 2 Killers 100% over. Legion needed some work but this is murder and it will make Legion not worth playing. Pig as well just got gutted to boot in how RBTs now can't kill someone walking out a gate and how they don't time down while in her terror radius on top of removing any pressure of saving RBTs for late game.
2 already weak or mid tier at best Killers just got tossed in the trash. This is even ANOTHER FREDDY NERF!
Remember Me got a massive nerf in the PTB. Instead of having a max of 30 seconds for landing 6 hits on the obsession, something not all that easy if they bother to avoid you, RM now has a max of 16 seconds!

Your completely missing the point if the killer gets just one person in the basement that's it. Why would the killer move at that point? In that situation perks like borrowed time which is meant to save a teammate just becomes oh you went down there? Well let me stand here with no effort and get some free kills. The killer should always have to put effort into keeping a victim not standing still like a lazy idiot.
Look at your own example of running Borrowed Time. BT, MoM, and DS along with a few other perks makes being unhooked in the end game a near free escape. Don't have to do much more than run out an open gate even if the Killer is standing right there to stop you. What skill is there in that?

It has too many counters already it’s fine. It’s just like NOED everyone loses in some way.
Care to say those counters? Outside of going deeper into meta and playing nothing but a one shot Killer there isn't anything you can do against MoM. It's the same as old DS. No Killer can work towards his objective without hitting Survivors and thus being forced to to through MoM without a choice.

Bahahahaha for the last year certain killer mains on here have been telling survivors to adapt each time they had a complaint or there was a change. Brand new player comes to the forums not knowing any better Git GUd and meme and ADAPT.
Your memory is worse than mine. Since the game launched it has been Survivors in control or abusing crap and saying the old "git gud and adapt" nonsense.
Every time Killers have had something broken or too strong has seen that fixed rather quickly. Outside of a single stretch where the machine gun build (STBFL + Unrelenting) controlled meta, there hasn't been much of anything that wasn't fixed ASAP or never seen play outside of a PTB. Survivors on the other hand though have had FAR more to abuse over the years and their toys lasted for months on MONTHS at a time if not longer.
Survivors have controlled DbD since it launched if they bothered to do well. Killer has simply been trying to adapt to them all this time and they are STILL not able to do so but for a couple of choice Killers. And even Nurse/Billy can't deal with proper teams to this date.

Punishing DCs with a ban is a dumb idea because then you also punish people who quit out of games with grievers/trolls/survivor+killer combos of either and people who got DC'd for internet issues. It's a better idea to punish it with more waiting time or just rewarding the killer if anyone does DC (and only the killer so SWF don't try to farm off the bonus reward system but also not significant enough to make killer+survivor farm friends see it as beneficial to farming).
I also don't like the idea of punishing killers for camping or "proxy camping" with less points for attacking people near the hooked survivor. Their only goal is to kill people any means necessary without cheating. And that's coming from someone who is 1. Currently a survivor main, and 2. has never face camped and only "proxy camps" when I know there's people around to kill. Why punish killers for attacking people trying to save their prey?
You have to start somewhere and DCs cause more problems than trolls and even cause the trolls or ARE the trolls themselves.
A game not going your way? DC! Screw everyone else. Seen a good example of that yesterday when a 3 man SWF DCed the instant they failed to save someone by body blocking a EW3 Shape. The 4th guy even complained I didn't reward him with farming because they DCed when there was 5 gens remaining. So not only are those 3 toxic as hell for DCing, they made that 4th guy toxic for leaving him alone.
DCs are the cause to most problems. Dealing with the problems without fixing their causes wont do anything.

So much this. Work on why the dcing is happening, not just banning those who aren't enjoying the game.
A lot of DCs happen because things aren't going their way. You can't fix that. Yesterday I was playing Shape for a daily and a 3 man SWF twitch instantly DCed all at once. Still early in the game and I downed the streamer with EW3 then someone then attempted to body block, an EW3 Shape. Within a second of that 2nd down all 3 DCed leaving the 4th guy alone to do 5 gens. The 4th guy even complained that I didn't REWARD him for them DCing! I somehow was at fault for them DCing and not farming. Later I was playing Plague and had this one Survivor going ham with a flashlight click macro and being as annoying as possible. He stayed long past the gates opened only to DC the instant I went to hook him.
How do you fix that? No amount of gameplay changes can do anything to fix that, those people are just toxic trash. The only way you can fix a problem like that is to remove the people that cause it. Or at the very least punish instead of rewarding them!
Losing pips? That's what some want, it keeps them in low ranks to bully other players. Losing BP? Worthless to start with for the most part and easily replaced. The current "punishments" for DCs aren't doing anything against DCs so they need to be made harder. A simple lock out timer would be enough where each DC after the first in X number of games gives longer and longer lockout times.

It is latency though, that combined with the game giving Survivors time to counter the grab by adding needless and multiple input checks.
Killer clicks M1, the game checks to see if the Survivor is interacting with an object. If found so, Killer is then teleported into position and grab animation starts. THEN the game does yet ANOTHER check to see if the Survivor is still interacting with an object. If so you get a grab, if not then the grab fails even though it already started the grab animations.
Iv seen and myself had this "bug" happen many, many times since the game launched. Everything from minor hitches of being teleported then a forced attack, who might or might not be a hit, to being stuck and locked in place for several seconds. Iv also had grabs push me into WALLS and get stuck inside.
ÿØÿàThat pic was posted on July, 29, 2016. If this hasn't been fixed since being in when the game launched it isn't going to get fixed at all without reworking net code. And no, dedicated servers aren't going to fix this either. Just likely make it more common
-
Small suggestion. Add random Killer/Survivor selections as well.
For those of use that are rather indecisive and/or just more masochistic than others.
