I agree. The sound and visual are very annoying to me so I want them to only appear at the 6th regression event, so they will be rarer and will only appear when the killer should start caring about it.
-
Maybe they just didn't put much thought into it. Maybe they don't have a design for Julian. Who knows what the design process at BHVR is like, maybe The Unknown and Sable were cooked up separately and tying them together and to Mikaela was a recent idea they simply rolled with as they went.
Personally, I don't care. I don't like Mikaela or her story; to me, Sable is a more interesting version of Mikaela, so I'm fine with this. And I don't think we should ever have another 2-survivor chapter again, to be honest.

I could explain that with a few examples. I was watching a streamer once, who had a Jill DC. The streamer died earlier on but spectated the remainder of the match, where the teammates finished the gens. The Jill bot was on the door while the other teammates stood beside her, and she had it 99ed when she heard the terror radius and fled. Everyone panicked, and the Killer got them all. If only the bot had committed and finished opening the door, they all could have escaped, but instead it screwed them over.
A few more ways in which bots benefit the Killer more: a Survivor can't DC to deny the Killer the mori anymore; the Killer can just mori the bot instead. If a Survivor gets hooked in the basement by a camping Killer (especially Trapper or Hag), DC'ing would just mean that the teammates would have to risk themselves to save the bot instead. I personally would rather not leave a bot in that situation.
And as mentioned above, when two Survivors remain and one of them is slugged, that person can't DC to spawn hatch for the one standing. The slugged bot certainly has no benefit for the Survivor there.
a Survivor can't DC to deny the Killer the mori anymore; the Killer can just mori the bot instead.
In what world is denying a killer a Mori animation that meaningful to the results of a match? You're upset you can't spite them that much anymore?

I want to make sure I’m not missing something but the turret box teleporting. You can only do that through addons right? Also what does highlightlng the turret box even do other than turning it yellow at basekit?
Highlighting a tunnel will show the Xenomorph a yellow path leading to it while underground, like a GPS route.

I would like to see Ashley and Luis legendary skins. I'd also like to see Jill's winter op uniform from Umbrella Chronicles, Leon's casual leather jacket outfit, and Ada's RE4make outfit. They could also take outfits from the CGI movies if they wanted, like Rebecca's labcoat look.

But they will run out of pallets eventually if you break them immediately. Then they have almost no resources left outside of a few windows.
And by that point, the generators are done and the game is over.
-
"Adrenaline shouldn't be nerfed but Terminus should be" is not the take I expected to see today.
-
I've hated the bots ever since one trapped me in a corner on Badham asking for heals and wouldn't let me out until the killer found us and downed me.
-
Xeno on Hawkins is a massive pain because the map is too cramped to put turrets anywhere. Hawkins does not handle new killers well at all, further proof they should have redesigned the map before bringing it back.
-
I hope so. The number of survivors who slap this perk on and run from pallet to pallet to pallet in an endless chain creates some of the dullest and most obnoxious experiences in this game.
-
They've updated it. They switched Nea's challenge with Wake's on the right. It's fixed now.
-
The mimic thing is never going to work well and I wish people would let it go. I'm happier with what we got. I even like the axe, because we barely have any axe murderers in this game, the only other one I can think of is Huntress. Axe murderers are under-represented!
I like this take on an urban legend creature. It's full of contradictions, offers evidence but never explains, and its very nature warps people's perceptions and makes it questionable what is real and what isn't. I still think it's a bodysnatching parasite that eats people but that's all I can conclude, anything about its true nature is and always should be a mystery.

Pharmacy does but only while you're injured and it only gives you medkits.

He'll be around the bottom tier. Lackluster power that takes 3 hits, with the required first hit able to be cleansed mid-chase. He has the weaknesses of Ghostface's reveal mechanic, Nemesis's 3 hitting, an awkward projectile that does NOTHING on a DIRECT hit which is so dumb of BHVR, without any of the benefits of any other killer besides automatically-placed Sadako TVs that can be turned off quickly and easily and come with a huge cooldown and, once again, do not have any benefit besides some mediocre map mobility.
He's an overcomplicated mess with no real strengths, just like Singularity. Everything he does can be done a lot better by a more specialized killer.
Direct hits with the projectile apply a minor Hindered effect, and he has an add-on that makes it also apply Exhausted. i wouldn't call instantaneous teleportation to potentially anywhere on the map "mediocre". The Hallucinations also have add-ons that inflict status effects to survivors near them so they can have other benefits too. I think you're underrating him. He's not even as complicated as Singularity, just shoot the survivors with the purple blob and teleport when you feel like it.
-
If I had a non-stressful match and I don't immediately sprint out the door, I will give the killer a hit on the way out. With some exceptions, like Pinhead, Deathslinger, and Wesker, because I don't want to risk getting yoinked out the gate and dying. I tend to only do it if I'm healthy, though; if I'm injured I'll just leave.
-
A month or two ago I had a match as David versus a Nemesis. It went poorly, two teammates were dead, and he'd brought a Mori as well. He downed me and left me slugged because he really wanted his 4K, and ran off to hunt down my last remaining teammate. He eventually caught her too, and began his Mori on her. But I had Unbreakable at 99, and hadn't used it until that point in the trial. I also had a vaccine, so my plan was as soon as I got back up, I'd cure the T-Virus infection and make a mad sprint for the hatch. Mori animation starts, I'm up instantly, I vaccinate, and I start running to look for the hatch as soon as Nemmy is done killing my teammate.
it spawns directly next to me. I can only imagine how that Nemesis felt when, during his Mori, he heard the vaccination and Killer Instinct sound effects playing, and then got only 2 seconds to figure out what had happened before the match suddenly ended with my escape. I wish console had endgame chat so I could see his reaction. It also taught me that the Finisher Mori idea was a terrible idea, because the game is never truly over until you're on the hook, and that mechanic would have robbed me of that last-second play.
On the flipside, I once had a match as Pig that went in my favor. Everyone but one survivor was dead, the last one had an active Reverse Bear Trap on her head, and I had shut the hatch. The endgame timer and her trap timer were both counting down and I had found her. Confident in my victory, instead of hooking her, I just crouched around and watched her as we stood on top of the shut hatch. For fun I started spinning around at high speeds, which blinded me to the fact that the survivor had a key in her hand and was unlocking the hatch right in front of me. She jumped right in and escaped and I was left sitting there looking like an idiot. That's not really a favorite, just a lesson to never be blinded by your own hubris.

when i get a challenge like that I usually add extra chests , appraisal & the Ace chest perk , then leave the loot(s) near gens for folks to use , otherwise feels a bit dull
I too like to play as a loot goblin when I'm feeling bored as survivor. I really wish I had a perk that made opening chests faster so I could loot harder.

Every time the devs release a killer whose power is about map control: I.E. sadako anyone? Pinhead with his box and the franklins build? Old skull merchant? Survivors complain. Anytime that a killer has a way to force survivors to not hold m1 on a gen, suddenly its the worst thing in the world and "terrible design" so the devs are literally just giving people what they ask for.
"I'm sick of touching generators all the time."
"Okay, here's something else to do."
"No, I don't want to do that, I want to touch generators."
I don't envy BHVR, not one bit.

That really sucks and I feel you :V Jill is also my main and I have her at P17 I think .. .good enough to show that I played her a good while, but not enough to dodge me.
I mean, by now Prestige badges are a thing for such a long time that they are mostly meaningless, even a casual could pour all their BP into one character and get them to P100 ... but its still somewhat a red flag.
Usually no casuals have the nerf for this and a P100 signals at least someone who cares enough and poured in hours upon hours. That alone wouldn't warant all the dodges, though, there are many 1000h+ players ... I guess its that toxic players and those dreaded premades always have high P levels, unless they try to hide it, so many killers got burned. And well, a lobby of 4 P100 ALWAYS means business, there is no way that this is just a nice way to say hello.
But yeah, Prestiges and who is in a SWF with whom should be shown in the postgame chat and hidden before.

This. One P100 is nothing notable. Multiple ones always means trouble. It's not just that they're good at the game and win, they're more often than not the most toxic experiences, especially streamers and content creators.

Its actually quite smart.
If you look at the data, it shows that pig is actually one of the higher killers in terms of kill rate.
However, i'd bet that her kill rate in low mmr is significantly higher than her kill rate in high mmr. She probably does well against newer players, but poorly against top tier players. So the question to that is, why? Well the traps probably confuse newer players. They don't understand how they work, they can't figure out when they are active vs not, and they generally get headpopped way more often than they would in high mmr.
In high mmr, pig struggles heavily to get a down because her ambush is horrible in chase and survivors can easily "leave the loop" and it leads to hear not being good. On top of that, the traps don't really do much in terms of headpops, because the survivor knows what to do, but what they are good at is delaying the game.
When you take these things into account, it makes sense.
- You buff the ambush in small ways that is going to make her much better in high mmr. But in low mmr, adding 0.3 seconds on ambush duration, and 0.2 m/s faster movement speed on crouch and 0.3 seconds off of crouch time isn't going to really change anything. But in high mmr its a massive massive buff, just take a look at scott jund's videos on her. She is much more viable as an anti-loop now.
- You nerf the trap game a bit, this is going to nerf her significantly in low mmr, where the traps make a huge difference. But in high mmr games, it won't effect them really at all, because high mmr pigs aren't using traps to get kills, they are using them to slow the game down. So the pig doesn't care if she can't see the box auras, or if the timer is slightly longer. Because you aren't getting kills with traps, you are forcing that survivor into a "timeout" of sorts off of gens and healing, giving you more time to chase other survivors.
These are actually the types of changes that are the perfect example of good balance decisions that BHVR should be making. You buff bad killers in high mmr, while nerfing them in low mmr where they are much stronger.
And it waters Pig down to another dull anti-loop killer whose power is "go fast and hit someone" while the actual interesting part of her power that affects the match the most is reduced to a mild inconvenience.
-
I usually wear whole sets instead of mixing and matching, but I don't own a lot of cosmetics to mix in the first place. I'm stocking up on shards because I'm not sure whether to buy the next chapter with shards or money.
-
Most of the videos I've seen from killer mains have been "Ambush buffs are great and I don't care about the RBTs" and they're mostly from people who never played Pig to begin with.

Subpar. The tiles can’t be chained efficiently because they’re impeded by obstacles. But even so they’re very short so chaining isn’t really worth while. I think this map is meant to encourage hiding or a more reserved playstyle, it seems better for that. It has a shack similar to GoJ’s though, I think it always spawns in like a remote corner.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3661824#Comment_3661824
You’re right, it’s large. But the tiles are weak; the pallets are unsafe. And while I like the pallet in main (in the theater, you mean?) it’s also weak. You can’t even escape the room if the killer breaks it and you’re closest to the screen before the killer catches up with you. Gods forbid you face a projectile killer because it’s over. I agree about shack but I think all but 2 maps have a shack. The ones that don’t (Lery’s and Gideon) compensate in other ways. Greenville has a lot of good hiding spots and decent LoS blockers in the woods that could help throw a killer off. But this isn’t a balanced map, it’s killer-sided and that’s OK.
Indoor maps don't have shack. Gideon, Lery's, RPD, Midwich, Hawkins.
Of the outdoor maps, Haddonfield and Nostromo don't have shacks.

The Knight's map (forget what it's called). I think it is the most balanced map for both killer and survivor. It doesn't matter what role I'm playing, I'm happy to get that map.
Decimated Borgo? Used to be it was considered survivor-sided due to having safe pallet loops everywhere and few tall structures to block line of sight. Now it's considered killer-sided because many of those pallet loops have been removed and deadzones are common.
Personally I just wish it didn't have the red filter. Can't see scratchmarks worth a damn. It looked better in Lights Out mode!

Nostromo and Greenville Square are full of weak loops and unsafe pallets. What makes those good spots? I’m just curious.
Everyone is saying Greenville's pallet loops are weak but I'm curious how effective it is to chain them together since there seems to be so many of them.

I totally get what your saying about digital media but this is just how the world works. Corporations are and always will be revenue driven. You can either learn how to identify marketing tactics and avoid falling prey to them, or be a consumer.
bHVR is transparent with their limited time items and the like, they're not just pulling these after a week without warning. They explicitly state that things such as the Attack on Titan set are limited time, there's no dishonesty anywhere. There is nothing inherently unethical about FOMO unless it's manipulative and not transparent.
I agree that people should be educated about how marketing works. Smarter consumers would push smarter markets. It's why I don't accept "that's just how the world works." It only works that way because it's allowed to. If people changed, so would everything else. But that's something that's really hard to make happen.
Licensed stuff I can understand, deals like that are tricky and complicated and a matter of compromise. Maybe BHVR wanted the AoT skins to be available forever but the license-holders blocked them from doing that and that's what led to their unavailability. I can't blame BHVR for having trouble with the complicated world of licenses, copyrights, and trademarks. Just look at what happened with Stranger Things.
-
I think it says a lot about Knight's visual and audio design when I see people say his chase music feels incomplete without the loud CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK of his armor alongside it.
Dredge is also fantastic, one of the few original chapters I bought with money instead of shards. A shame that his great audiovisual design also makes him loud as hell which ruins his stealth, just one of many problems with his gameplay design.
-
I've been playing for a little over a year now and the highest prestige I have is Alan Wake at Prestige 10 and only because I've been pushing it hard. I don't understand how anyone can sink so many points into just one character, but I'm the kind of guy who's been spreading his points across every character on both sides so maybe that's just me.

False scarcity is used by almost every corproation in a capitalist society. The most popular products are often the "1 of 100s", the luxury products, and limited time products. People value exclusivity and scarcity and the system will not change as long as this exists. You either adapt to see past false scarcity or fall victim to it. Companies exist to create profit, not to cater to you individually.
I keep seeing people essentially saying "I don't like FOMO because it feels cheap and dirty" which sure, is a validated feeling, but that doesn't change anything. It doesn't mean that FOMO is unethical, or even mean that there aren't people (like OP) that actually enjoy the exclusivity tied with FOMO marketing, false scarcity or not, and there's nothing inherently wrong with that.
This is digital media. There is no "supply", it costs very little to make it available to people to buy via digital distribution, unlike physical products. It's all just data, not raw materials that need to go through supply chains and processing and physical distribution. There is no reason for FOMO to exist in digital products other than to take advantage of people's instincts and emotions. It is pure greed, nothing else, no excuses, no justifications. It is unethical, it is slimy and sleazy, it is exploitation.
People can enjoy it, but it's a terrible thing to enjoy, and I'm not resigning myself to "it's just business" because it's not; it's just greed.
-
I'm not sure how to feel about Sable yet. I think her lore is bad, so bad it's outright silly, but it doesn't bother me like other characters can (Skull Merchant...). It's almost charming how edgy she is. Plus I like that she ran her own radio horror show and wears regular sneakers with her goth girl outfit. She feels like a girl version of Dwight, someone who is a complete goober but you like them for it, though Sable seems completely unaware of how goofy she comes off as. That kind of makes her even funnier.
I just hope BHVR is aware that this girl is ridiculous and doesn't try to write her too seriously in her inevitable Tome.
-
My biggest problem with recent maps is that they feel terribly unoptimized and make my console chug. Nostromo feels unplayable half the time.
-
What you don't know is The Game is actually killer-sided! But only after you smash all 30+ pallets. That's easy enough, right?
-
It's massive and has pallets everywhere.
-
Can't get a screenshot but I simply took Jeff's Rare outfit where he's already wearing a band shirt and replaced it with Iron Maiden's shirt. Flawless swap.
-
Glyphs are fine, except Green and Orange ones, those suck. But the others are alright, they're barely an inconvenience, and I appreciate earning the points. If they folded Glyphs into Daily Rituals or an equivalent new feature, I'd be alright with it.
-
A kaiken (懐剣) is a 20–25 cm (7.9–9.8 in) long, single or (very rarely) double-edged Japanese knife[1] usually without ornamental fittings housed in a plain but lacquered mount.
I'd accept a kitsune killer but only if, for their Mori animation, they adopt a trait of the Korean kumiho by cutting out people hearts/livers and eating them, like what the Hag does.
-
I would love to have a perk like this. Something extreme. It doesn't even matter if killers actually run it or not, I just want something that can spook survivors out of the trial faster just through the possibility of its existence, like Bloodwarden but more.

Killers (imo) should be eligible to be purchased on trial (30 mins) so that players can try them out to see if they're compatible or not. I wasted BP on Blight and Artist without knowing how they felt to play, especially Blight on console.
I agree that killers need some kind of "demo" option for players to try them out. Ideally it would be practice matches against bots.

does she? self-healing yourself is one of best tools for a new player to acquire. I am pretty sure that strength of the shadow is going to be a popular perk. It might be a meta perk with like 10% pick-rate. that is my prediction. i am hoping the perk doesn't get nerfed but i would not be surprised if the perk ends up being weakened to 35% healing speed like current self-care in 1 year or 2 year time.
I doubt that, I imagine most players will write it off as a bad perk because it only works in the basement, which will require travel time and evading the killer to reach. Most will just bring medkits as usual.

Tunnels in DBD are equivalent to combos in fighting games, but are considered harmful. It's the same.
If we learn about the world and don't solve the problem only within DBD, we will soon realize that many people are saying kiddy things.
I wouldn't go that far. At least a tunneled survivor still gets to do inputs on their controller. Fighting games with touch-of-death combos, the other player can only sit there and watch themselves lose, they don't even get to press buttons, may as well put the controller down.

Oh god I just read it for the first time. It reads like an 'OC do not steal' fan fiction.
"Mikaela declined to get her own tattoo. She flirted with the dark side, but she didn’t live it. Not like Sable. The dark side made sense to Sable, and she revelled in it. Partly because it freaked out her parents and teachers. Partly because it felt like who she was. Some called her a goth because of the way she presented herself."
"Mikaela liked her horror with a little comedy, but Sable liked it meaner. Scarier. Bloodier. She relished the gore. Enjoyed the terror. Liked to feel the adrenaline rush."
"But then she thought about the terrifying creatures and the sadistic killers and the endless horror, and she quickly decided she wasn’t going to let her best friend have all the fun."
It's so bad it's honestly hilarious.
It is hilarious, I can't decide whether I love it or hate it. It feels like Sable wrote her own bio to prove how cool she is, she's almost like a cartoon character. But somehow, I think I like her more than Mikaela. I want to play as her and act like a dumbass.
-
I've seen people argue that the ratings are not how difficult it is to use the power, but how difficult it is to understand its mechanics. But even then I'd rate Singularity as Very Hard because there's so much going on with his biopods and the EMPs and the Overlocked Mode.
-
I believe the point of the Haste effect is so that you can move away from the killer while blinding them, to make more distance between you, so that blinding them at vaults and pallets is more practical. You slow yourself down less, and slow the killer down more.
-
I'm glad Deathslinger got a Tome because he's the one ranged killer who's actually somewhat fun to play against. Dodging his spear is exciting and if he gets a shot in, it usually feels like he earned it, unlike Huntress and her truck-sized hatchets.
Singularity can also be fun, when they're not camping generators. Trying to help out teammates with EMPs mid-chase is an engaging challenge.
