Statistics aren't a one all conclusion to the state of a character. They are nothing more than a reason to look at said character. Tell me do these stats in Broad MMR really say "Dredge, Sadako and Pinhead are these top tier killers?" Vecna 1 and MAYBE Freddy if you really stretched it but, in most cases, its the HARDCORE mains that are doing that well

Ah, I see, so you're saying most killers have worse players dragging down their killrates!

So the game is actually skewed further in the killers' favour than what the stats show, they're just dragged down by bad killer players!

It goes both ways. Bad survivors ALSO inflate kill rates and there are way more bad survivors than there are good ones if we REALLY want to use statistics as an example if only ~18% of the community is high mmr from BHVRs own words then it would make sense why killers have higher kill rates when those survivors aren't that good. Of course, there's a lot more nuance than that but that's what I see when people say "but the statistics" it just makes them look REALLY ignorant.

My guy, there is literally nothing to refute. You posted nothing but a personal opinion that goes against all statistics and then proclaimed it undeniable fact.

Statistics aren't a one all conclusion to the state of a character. They are nothing more than a reason to look at said character. Tell me do these stats in Broad MMR really say "Dredge, Sadako and Pinhead are these top tier killers?" Vecna 1 and MAYBE Freddy if you really stretched it but, in most cases, its the HARDCORE mains that are doing that well along with a majority of people not understanding the counterplay or are just bad. When you get survivors that know how to play against said killers you see quickly how they just fall. At least with high mmr you could make a reasonable argument for all of those having that high of kill rates as those are undeniably strong killers.

Idk about you but I like to go into why a killer is strong and not look at "muh statistics" only.

Well yeah because survivor right now is really strong. Just because the player base isn't that good doesn't deny the state of it.

    'My guesstimations trump all statistics!'

So do you have anything to refute what I said or are you going to stick with the sarcasm.

You're literally looking at one of the survivor strategies being held to this standards in the OP. But here's a list of other survivor strats that get complained about daily:

    Being on comms

    Exhaustion perks

    Endurance perks

    Prerunning

    Flashlights/Saboing

    Stealth

    Holding W

    Using meta perks

Well yeah because survivor right now is really strong. Just because the player base isn't that good doesn't deny the state of it. We're unironically getting to the point where the base kit perks and maps are coming back to make even bad players get chances near to winning against someone physically better than them but since they chose a slightly weak killer they get to that point.

Then go get slugged over and over and tell me how fun it is to be in a match where you're licking the ground at 5 gens. It's pretty common right now so you shouldn't have any trouble finding one of these super fun matches. And it's even more fun, by your standards, when you get to bleedout for 4 minutes. I've had two of these just in the last couple days.

Ah yes, the legenadry high MMR that everyone is in yet everyone also agrees matchmaking is garbage. Yeah I see one or two too because it's had buzz. These are matches I usually win because this perk is nothing. Second chance/chase extenders are still the meta perks i lose to.

Perks shouldn't be the only way to counter someone else's decisions. I don't need gen perks to do a gen, I don't need healing perks to heal, I don't need chase perks to win a chase, but I do need anti-slugging perks to stand back up. There's a reason there was an effort to make this counterable at basekit. Because it's garbage and it makes matches awful. Anti-slug perks are also garbage. Conviction requires coordination, and the killer can just run you down until you drop. Unbreakable is one time use. Exponential is snuffable. "Just bring perks" yet the perks are crap.

So tell me the killer runs you down until you drop. That's 30 seconds for your entire team to reset or work on gens and you can just run to a stronger part of the map for your team for a pickup. Do you SERIOUSLY not see how valuable that is? It even saves slug situations where slugging is only really viable on said high mobility killers. If you're getting slugged by john clown or plague then sorry your team or you are just bad at the game. The reason why you need anti slug perks rather than base kit because it SHOULD be team play that beats a killer and not pure 1v1.

As for getting slugged for 4 minutes. I personally have no issue as when it's that it's usually my teammates that are not doing the correct things or are bad not the killer being particularly good. Tell me would it be fair to add anti slug stuff for a majority of the time is the survivors failing to do the correct play? This is like ANY other game where something is somewhat common so other in response bring stuff to counter it the only difference is DBD is a lot more pre-emptive than other games as you can't see the other teams builds as killer and can't adjust your own mid match.

I'm sorry but if you don't like DBD being a pvp game where there is people actually playing to win there is a bunch of PVE games on the market.

Except that people are doing this regardless of what they see, and blaming Fast Track. I just had a Billy do this to me yesterday and said just that in chat. Meanwhile, I was the only one with a gen perk, and it was just Deja Vu. I'm pretty tired of every single little thing being used as an excuse for crappy behavior. This perk is not "prevalent in the meta." I barely ever see it.

And you can't convince me someone who slaps Infectious Fright onto the games most hated high mobility killer is only doing it when they see four toolboxes. I would never do this regardless of what i think might happen. And even so, if just the lobby tilts you this hard, dodge.

Slugging really isn't "crappy" never understood the disdain towards it. You legit stay in the game longer if you were to be slugged than if you were hooked and left to hang there for the maximum 69.9 seconds. People have tools to use against slugging but rarely ever choose to use it like Conviction.

As for it might happen. Yes that is a very valid response to playing to win. Say this to ANY other pvp game and you would be agreed with 24/7. And as for fast track I see at least one or two but that might just be me and playing in a higher mmr bracket on average due to the average skill of a survivor I face.

  • @cogsturning said:

You didn't know what perks they'd have. You just decided to be this way. Don't blame the game for your choices.

Well when you see 4 toolboxes you can have a pretty good guess on what perk they will have. The game indirectly forces people to make choices. When something becomes to prevelant in the meta that the devs made then yes at some point the balancing can be to blame for how people play.

  • @jesterkind said:

Maybe I'm being baited by the thumbnail here (I haven't watched the video) but I really don't understand why people act like the presence of a rocket launcher is the sole determining factor for whether Nemesis is accurate to the games or not.

Everything he does have is accurate, why does it matter that he doesn't have that one highly specific thing?

I get the rocket launcher part but he does use weapons and they only gave him a tentacle in game. The whole using weapons and NE-a parasite part is kind of what separated him from a normal tyrant so not giving him a single conditional one feels off.

I'm skeptical. stacking is already meme tier, and I don't see superior anatomy or xenos vault addon being buffed in any meaningful way to reach current values without just escalating power levels

IIRC it wont affect addons like vault or break speed. But haste stuff like from clown and skull merchant will. That means the set speed like Singularity and Houndmaster will be better off with those haste perks as those are a separate multiplier/set speed.

There wont be any positive changes to this right away though. I personally think its a bad idea that it effects killer powers though

While yes it will be bad the time it gets added. It opens up the future to having better perks overall. Also yeah it shouldn't really affect killer powers as much.

  • Hope that diminishing returns goes live so we can actually have strong off-meta perks.

    That is called cognitive dissonance.

You can't ignore facts when it makes you feel uncomfortable.

You can call it what you want. But until we see what the average skill level is of survivors then we can get better balancing than just looking at a spread sheet as that's what BHVR is decently well known for. Spread sheet balancing which in a lot of other games you would be questioned for doing.

  • @mecca said:

No such thing in a weak killer. All killers are winning a majority of the time which means they are too strong.

the pallets are worse now than before. They put too many in but "reverted". Now it's alot of medium rock/pallet/small rock. So overall you have easier to deal with pallets. From what I have seen.

This heavily depends on the killer.

  • Something something, too afraid of toxicity, something something "just because they have it doesn't mean they'll use it."

Basically no reason to not have it except being lazy about it.

  • One simple and pretty crucial reason compared to Blight. Ghoul can't inherently down with his power like Blight can. Making him 4.4 would only do what they did to Krasue and now Blight in fact probably make it worse because ghouls only option to get hits was cut offs but 4.4 would make that way more lenient for the survivor.

No one is not literally the end of the game. Its only the end of the game because you want to abandon.

We could say killers in end game are just killers who played badly and didnt get enough kills (because lets be real, this abandon feature are for killers who get gen rushed / no hooks. Killers are not going to abandon with 2 people left)

Their is a huge diffrence between everyone slugged and hooked and all the gens done, the most comparable is the one person dead at 5 gens because that would feel just as unwinable as a killer once all the gens have popped and everyone is alive.

Reminder that the game isn't confirmed to be over when all four are slugged. You never know if a random has unbreakable. Unless you want to remove the abandon option until all self-pickup options are unavailable then killers should 100% have the option to abandon in end game. You don't see people calling the abandon feature in mobas a bad idea as it's used when the game is already 95% a loss and people recognize the wasted time. Like sure they COULD play it out but there's no real point to since it would require miracles to come back and I see next to no one advocating for the forfeit options in League to be removed.

Like I said in my initial post, there is no real reasonable arguments to not have it as an option. If you're getting 4 slugged you're already outclassed by the killer but more understandable if its billy, nurse, blight etc. and if you are in end game as killer you are either playing a weak killer that can't keep up with modern dbd or the survivors were actually good which is rare when it shouldn't be for how low of a skill ceiling survivor has.

Are you ok with survivors getting the abandon option if someone has died at five gens? this is basically the equivalent survivor situation

One is at the literal end of the game the other is survivors playing badly. And even then they can… just get slugged and abandon after that. I don't have an issue with people getting the abandon feature when everyone left is slugged/hooked but the double standards I see from people is insane.

This topic remains one of the easiest ways to see the bias a lot of this community has against the Killer role. The abandon system on Survivor was added to prevent Survivors from having their time wasted in scenarios that are commonly unwinnable (such as all Survivors being on the ground), but the minute you suggest the Killer is afforded the same luxury in endgame, you immediately get hit with a barrage of downvotes and people insisting it is somehow not comparable.

Everyone can seemingly get on board with the idea that Survivors shouldn't have to sit on the ground for four minutes (even if the Killer isn't being intentionally malicious), but saying the Killer shouldn't have to wait 2-4 minutes while Survivors intentionally stall out the EGC timer while spamming loud noises is incomprehensible.

Telling the Killers they should just wait out the EGC timer is such a double standard because no one would ever accept "just AFK and wait it out" as a legitemate solution regarding slugged Survivors prior to the abandon mechanic.

Letting the Killer abandon in endgame (where the match is basically won for remaining Survivors) and be replaced with a bot wouldn't tangibly affect the Survivor experience, yet the idea is always met with heavy resistance. The majority of arguments I see against it, are simply fronts for "I enjoy flaunting my victory against a real player, and a bot wouldn't provide that same satisfaction." Like you said, in a game where Survivors can abandon for simply being downed one too many times, there's genuinely no reasonable argument for this to not be a thing.

Yup this is exactly why I said there's no reasonable argument against killers being able to abandon in EGC which is why people downvote without actually providing a counter argument. They simply cant.

    Case and point.

  • Nothing really. Quite literally no reasonable argument to not allow killers to abandon during EGC/all gens done. It's either try to fight for one last kill or wait for them to leave. it's just a big waste of time in the end. As long as I can get my time wasted by people intentionally plot twisting in the gates to extend EGC there is no excuse to not have an abandon option for when at least EGC starts.

  • I find it funny because I feel like I could be blocking a prompt and the survivor just clips through my model to drop the pallet. But from what other people are saying they seem to have changed that.

  • Dont forget Wesker just refusing to grab someone with bound. You can legit get vortexed with the power (old blight term where collision was so bad you would bump off nothing, which the ormond snow pile in the shape of a C was notorious for) and not be able to hit the person. Oh yeah and this

    https://x.com/Zyrav_/status/2038033448779055445

  • Reminder that DBD is an asymm pvp game with survivor being the role that can be eliminated from the trial. You can play casual all you want but don't expect someone else to do the same.

  • It is OP. It's the exhaustion problem of way too easy to get value of while providing huge benefits while stacked on 3-4 survivors. It's op and not healthy perk design.

  • Will say it is unhealthy perk design. Getting punished for playing in a healthier way for survivors just is not it. The perk is good to strong when brought solo but downright unmanageable when brought by everyone which I label the exhaustion problem. It's just how long until you start seeing 3-4 fast tracks per game even in soloq? Because free permanent gen progress for existing is inherently powerful. At the very least with hyper focus solo you have to hit the increasing speed of great skill checks.

  • @Dinadin said:

3/4 pallets are unsafe, there are only 3 windows, no elevation. So far ive seen more killers winning then loosing on this map.

Yeah but this mythical thing called pre-running. Pre running makes a lot of these pallets a LOT better as it just makes it more distance the killer has to walk around. Can't deny the pallets what they're best used for.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but those are all classified as bugs and unintended by the devs and they have been fixed so this is how wesker is supposed to be

Just because its the way it is doesnt mean it has to stay that way.

  • Yeah idk. I don't think this perk needed a buff like this. Sure in terms of raw speed its around the same as other single gen progression perks… but unlike hyperfocus you only need to exist in the trial where someone gets hooked and hit a great skill check ONCE compared to the faster rotation of hyper focus making it harder to hit. Like this as a solo perk easily outclasses hyperfocus. Not to mention in 3 gen scenarios its WAY better than hyper focus as it reduces the amount of regression perks affect it iirc. So Pop would deal less regression to that gen than a full generator meaning less time added to the gen from the killer.

I fear the day people actually notice this perk and Baby Sitter.

  • Yeah most of the dedicated trickster mains don't even call this version a buff except maybe two of them from what I heard. At best side grade or straight up nerf. Which with the 36 knife carry amount and less often main event I'm leading more towards a nerf let alone the 20 meter anti camp range for main event.

  • Prime DS, unbreakable and dead hard meta. Probably one of the most unfun metas gameplay wise but at least survivors were at least better at the game back then.

Given the fact the monitors these days often have one built it, i really don't see a reason why we can't just have reticule in general.

It would also help console players a ton.

I love the silent down voters to OP and this. I'm sure they have a REALLY good reason as to why leaving a reticle as an addon would be healthier than just giving it base as a toggle. But yeah, my monitor has a reticle so the addon is quite literally useless let alone me just sticking a piece of tape to the middle of my screen and coloring it a little.

Hope the rebounds distance is same as before and not shorter.

On instaflicks I dont get it its high skill high reward thing where player in short time needs to be very accurate and if he is than he is rewarded but they are easier explained than done (simular as hug techs easy to explain but super hard to pull them off). If instaflicks are gone than its nerf overall tbh.

For the average player hes almost identical but against more experienced survivors insta flicks helped a LOT but now that they're gone it hurts him a lot.

  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

The PTB version of Cut Thru U Single was really just a permanent haste effect for 80% of the match. It was unhealthy much for the same reason as old MFT and it couldn't go live in that state

The only reason it was so often up was because the "thread the needle" score event which rewards triple style points was SUPER generous and still is but to a lesser degree. And comparing it to release MFT was not fair. You got MFT for getting injured aka not something in your control while also having a secondary effect. You at least had to earn CTU to get its speed boost.

  • Not entirely. Rebounds are back but insta flicks and bounding off a high object are gone. Idk why insta flicks had to be removed.

  • Not really. He has less viable addons than old trickster now while they gutted Cut Thru U Single to make only 40% of its effect base kit only for throw the initial throw state/main event. Trick blades remained at a sad 4 additional knives while we're making a RETICLE AN ADDON. There's actively less addon diversity than before as every build now probably becomes, Death Throes compilation and an addon of your choice.

They also seemed to nerf his style ranking decay as that goes away faster than I remember than on the PTB (undocumented btw if so) so an addon slot might be mandatory now as 110 move speed doesn't help much when you can just pre-run shift W away to prevent style rankings. I feel this was a biproduct of people saying "ranking up is too easy" when the score event that gave triple style points for "threading the needle" was WAY too generous and still is.

Oh yeah Lucky Blade nerf for some reason.

First, they're just randomly saying they encountered a bug with no further context. It doesn't even say which killer or what bug. Second, the implication with "balance team consisting now of players who occassionally play survivor" is that there's some anti-killer bias to bugs being in place for extended periods which is just an outrageous take. It's also got the classic BHVR-doesn't-play-their-own-game implication with the "occasionally", because this community of people who can't write a complete, punctuated sentence know more than the people who make the game.

I don't know why you'd choose to defend something not just completely non-constructive but with added pointless bias. Bugs are an issue, obviously, but this post ain't it.

Wouldn't say bugs being left in as an intentionally as a malicious thing but it's true they very clearly just take their time with killer bugs negatively affecting the killer or positively affecting the killer. Twins, Hound Master, Blight, Doctor and Death Slinger just to name a few. All these killers have bugs in some way most of them that negatively impact gameplay some not. Some going on multiple YEARS without being patched.

But like I said earlier just because you don't like the delivery doesn't make their point about quitting because of bugs any less valid.

  • He didn't say that. Even as a paraphrase that is wrong. Saying you don't want to play the game for how bugged it can be is feedback as an objective fact. If it wasn't we wouldn't have legit LISTS for killers that have several gameplay impacting bugs. The delivery might not be wholesome chungus 100 but feedback is still feedback.

And as I'm looking more into it there's yet ANOTHER photosensitivity bug that I just found out about where there will be just a random solar flare on screen thats been reported all the way back from LAST YEAR FEBUARY and is still going on today and from the sound of it, it's spreading to other maps when it used to be 99% isolated to Dead Dawg.

  • @Wezqu said:

That feedback is about the same level as me saying that I pressed buttons on my keyboard to write this response.

I mean sure he didnt specify which killer but there is legit lists out there for specific killers and their bugs. Some more severe than others.

  • @Wezqu said:

Thanks for your info that will be the most useful on the level as there was no real info.

Its feedback. Someone came back, experienced bugs and to the point of not wanting to play. Not the most constructive but saying "this made me close the game" is feedback.

  • Yeah ptb trickster is alright. Not much better not much worse than 115ster in terms of power. In terms of skill ceiling he went up but other than that he still felt horrible to play on the PTB. I pray for Cut Thru U Single base kit if they wanted to keep the 36 knives base.

  • And you decided that based on what? My points that made logical sense on how compared to its previous iteration it's just worse? Given you popped in and said "just don't run the perk on this killer" makes it very clear you don't understand my issue with it.

So tell me what happens when you run this on the half of the roster that can't do anything with said aura reading? You actively have a perk that could nerf you mid chase by revealing your aura as a survivor having aura reading on the killer is actively more powerful than the killer having aura reading on the survivor especially mid chase.

What is that "argument"? If you play a Killer who cannot make use of a Perk, then dont play the Perk on that Killer? You act as if you are forced to run Deerstalker on a Killer who cannot really use it.

Ok so you just weren't following the argument then. Come back later.

  • Full addon pass. There's 5 addons worth running on Nemesis imo because buffing zombies in ways other than speed simply is not good. Like you could do some weird things with Serotonin Injector but that usually requires a build.

Maybe a small rework to the zombies to where the Nemesis could infect them with the NE-Alpha parasite at the cost of some mutation points to make them slightly faster or maybe even have a small whip attack like they do in RE3 remake to make them more of a threat. Of course, if a pallet were used to kill them, they would respawn as normal zombies.

  • Killer burnout? Yeah. It's not fun being forced to stack slowdown just to get a game that lasts more than 5 minutes against survivors with a brain. So many killers are outdated and can't keep up with the base kit buffs survivors got over the years. And running a higher tier constantly isn't the most fun for me either. As well as the general survivor just not being good at the game but because perks play a MAJOR part in the game you can be bad but still get decent results in terms of time wasted. Just a shame no matter how much time you waste you can see your teammates… just not be on gens and cleansing totems/opening chests multiples times when its not a good time to do so.

You can tell its getting bad when queue times start climbing for survivor even on a friday night at least in my region.

The goal of auras in this situation isn't to get you into a chase, it's to improve your macro knowledge. It's the same reason that Gearhead is a good perk- it lets you know what generators are being worked on, and where the survivor's attentions are generally directed.

The best use of auras is to get you into a chase, but that doesn't mean it's the only use. Knowing what's going on is also very useful.

Yeah, true but then it becomes a perk that gets less and less value the better you are as a player. Because you know what gens they're most likely working on you wouldn't need a 3 second aura read every 30 seconds. You could run an infinitely better information perk vs the consistent aura reading on a slug. Like I said earlier got turned into a super niche perk.

  • @GameDesignNerd said:

You actively have a perk that could nerf you mid chase by revealing your aura as a survivor having aura reading on the killer is actively more powerful than the killer having aura reading on the survivor especially mid chase.

Like cool you can find someone every 30 seconds but like I said if they're across the map its NOT worth going for them as a majority of killers

Wdym, the other half of the roster that can't do anything with aura reading? I didn't know there was a killer that couldn't' see auras basekit, let alone half of them. Tell me more.

Object is exactly the same, except it can be better aura reading on the killer than aura reading on survivors because survivors can swf on comms. Then everyone can just be told the whereabouts of the killer via comms. Mid chase, there's no difference for either role. Why would you think that?

Well often there's no one to go for, then Deer Stalker procs and you have someone to go for. That's the entire purpose of the perk.

Also why do you think promoting slugging is bad? Its quite literally the same as hooking but it takes LONGER to die and you can move around. Always found that double standard weird when both essentially do the same but hooking is a faster more check pointy system to killing a survivor thanks to stages.

Long term slugging is not fun, especially on specific killers like Blight, Hillbilly, Nurse and Twins. Old Deer Stalker made saving a downed survivor very hard if a killer chose to just proxy multiple downs with the info they had, which is exactly why the perk got reworked into less often info, but good, non situational info, effectively decentivising slugging long term purposefully, but giving you info every now and then if you genuinely lost a downed survivor, maybe because you slugged them to avoid ds and left to chase someone else. There's nothing wrong with strategic slugging, but purposefully slugging all 4 survivors when you could just hook them is not okay. it's very boring and not balanced in the slightest, especially on high mobility killers that can quickly re-slug recently picked up survivors.

So you intentionally misinterpreted my point about aura reading and thought I was saying that certain killers just can't see auras. A majority can't do anything with it because the time investment to walk across the map simply isn't worth it. Of course if you run current Deer Stalker on Blight it CAN be good but never the best choice.

As for object, with both parties seeing their auras it's literally impossible to get mind gamed through tall walls/objects because of that unless you are legit not paying attention which is why I call it a potential nerf, why do you think Original Object of Obsession didn't work inside of terror radius? It's the reason why a lot of aura reading perks that reveal the killer are tied behind conditions like being within X radius of a gen or being forced to crouch or the killer standing around hook. And SWF comms is already calling out where the killer is all the times aura reading or not.

And we just ignoring that certain killers are just built for slugging like Oni, Twins and Singularity? All three of which have decent counterplay with only Singularity being the worst offender, but I rarely see people do the counterplay in general so.

Also the small tid bit that Deer Stalker soft counter Plot Twist but I guess people didn't like that.

you don't need to chase the person it reveals it can just be useful info.

Info on the opposite side of the map as a low-mid tier killer isn't going to accomplish much unless you so happen to line up the timing within hooking a survivor which at that point… bbq is better. Infectious would be better in some cases even. It's just TOO niche compared to hovering around a slug. when someone else want's to stay nearby. Especially on indoor maps where they can just disappear off to narnia.
