  • Genuinely never ceases to amaze me when they somehow net nerf pig.

  • On its own is not really that powerful until you get all 4 unique hooks. Overall doesn't really need a nerf on its own.

  • The killer played to win is what it seems like. Also it's not so much as "what did I do to deserve the tunnel" its more of "what did my team do". The more you treat survivor as an actual team role is when you start to see why killers do things. Like did your teammate unhook too close to the killer while he didn't have enough stalk left for a t3 on that specific survivor he was chasing previously?

Now of course im not omnipotent so i dont know the exact detail of the match but there is varying factors to it.

    1. the swamp maps are really just giant dead zones
    2. wrecker's yard is so tiny you can quickly make it a dead zone
    3. every pallet on hawkins is garbage

The pallets on hawkins are good just when you play it correctly which is usually the most boring way of just comp dropping it. Also we forgetting about basically the strong pallet in the storage shelf room?

Not saying that you are lying, but I am pretty sure that I am the last Singularity player left.

yeah my last singu match sent me to the shadow realm because midwich funny

  • Funny thing is i rarely play blight anymore. More of a singularity player now.

  • I'm gonna assume you're talking about exhaustion perks, specifically the ones that make you run faster than a base movement speed killer. Yeah idk why these things still exist in their current state. 3 seconds of 150% is already good enough to add 20 seconds of pure W. Overall low skill mechanic that rewards people for doing nothing.

  • @D0NN1ED4RK0 said:

    I think it’s intended

devs said in an earlier thread something about that (I think)

Idk about the death slinger one being the same from what I remember but having every trickster knife reduce stacks does NOT seem intended. Deathslinger only if you actually take a health state and not if the spear hits the survivor.

  • Windows of opportunity to purely see people just crumble when they cant mindlessly pre drop W and sprint burst/lithe.

  • I mean if I can blacklist the type of perks I play against then sure we can blacklist killers.

There’s absolutely no way you believe this. I’ve seen you on these forums for way too long for me to actually believe you to think this.

If you do this is truly a case of there’s no way you ever play survivor. Take the rose colored glasses off. Survivor has not been the power role since 6.1.

If that was TRULY the case then comp would have WAY less restrictions but they still have roughly same since pre 6.1

If you can't see that most pallets are unsafe, I can't really help you, I'm gonna be honest.

Lets see... eryrie pallets are all safe except the monument one which can only have a chance to spawn and only spawns once. Gideons is just super safe pallets everywhere, garden is super safe pallets, macmillan has some safe and little unsafe, autohaven has very little unsafe pallets when played correctly, haddonfield has safe pallets, badham SUPER safe pallets, borgo pallets are usually safe from the pure amount of junk you have to walk around, toba pallets are safe cause you can see the killer most of the time, nostromo is 50/50, cold wind is 50/50 and hawkins is mostly safe. When a competent player runs them (being competent in this game isnt hard) the pallets strength really shows.

Alright, well, pretty sure that's just wrong. How dare Solo Survivors get a buff.

Maps aren't worse than they used to be, take off the glasses.

There are fewer pallets, more unsafe pallets and worse pallets than ever before.

What "unsafe" pallets? Half the pallets just allow you to see the killer 90% of the time. The only unsafe pallets i see nowadays is the two on either side of the reception area on RPD. Garden got a "rework" which didn't do anything at all except remove the ultra safe truck in front of the house for a still very safe pallet. The gas heaven rework just made the loops more chainable and made main building more accessible. Blood lodge got a little better and don't get me started on the 2nd varients of the macmillan maps. 4 potential i loop spawns on Iron Works 2 alone.

  • Lets see... post 6.1 we got windows which got buffed to just play half the game for you while worse and worse maps got added. I would unironically want old DH for distance than some random noob holding W and pre dropping every pallet with some other form of exhaustion.

  • @C3Tooth said:

Would you prefer to go back to pre 6.1.0 patch? Because its seem that currently the game is alot harder for most killers after 6.1.0.

Perhaps it was alot easier for killers to play against

    • 5sec DS that activate in end game
    • DH for distance
    • Circle of healing to heal in 12sec
    • minus 50sec extra of Gen
    • 16sec of self healing
    • 3 health stage Medkits
    • old BNP
    • survivors get more distance on hit
    • killers get no progression lost on Gen kick
    • Gen tap
    • slower weapon cool down
    • no Shadowborne basekit...

Honestly not that much of a trade off compared to now. Until maps are balanced then it would make a huge difference in that gap.

  • My only theory is that they somehow couldnt make the modifier work in dream world.

Thats just the same wrong conclusion like saying killer only camp because they need to in order to 4k, because that means the killer would only stop camping when he gets a 4k without it.

This is the same logic. The survivors you cant find are at fault that you camp or tunnel, because they dont give themself up easily.

The truth is, the killer is the only one who decides if he tunnels or camps. You could go out searching the survivors without your perk.

You could patrol those gens instead of proxycamping. You decide not to, but that is not on the survivors, its your decision.

Well its a pattern with survivors. They immerse so when you go out to patrol the person gets insta saved and usually the unhooker hides. Why should I go to find the unhooker rather than just tunneling the other person out for the unhookers inability to take pressure? The killer does decide to tunnel and camp yes but survivors own choices also play a factor into that.

There's also the fact that some maps are just SO easy to hide on to the point where its just not worth it to try and look for the person.

Except in that case, why is Distortion being singled out as the problem?

If the survivor they're looking for is participating normally in the game flow, why can't the killer find them? And if they're not participating in the game flow, what's to stop that survivor from just sitting in a locker all game?

Why is it distortion that creates this issue, and not the aura reading removing all effort on the part of the killer?

Is it that the killer couldn't find them, or couldn't be bothered to?

Remember back in the day when BBQ & Chili was an extremely common pick and everyone learned to hop in a locker when a survivor was about to be hooked? What happened to that? Why is that now suddenly a bad thing?

Or is the bad thing actually that these survivors are just playing an incredibly poor macro-game, and Distortion is just a symptom, not the cause?

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3644370#Comment_3644370

Right in the wake of the MFT nerfs, the crosshairs immediately shifted onto Distortion to be the next survivor perk that should be put to the grave. Repackaging the same deal but with a 'how do you do, fellow survivors?' spiel doesn't impress me.

Why's Distortion being singled out as the problem, as opposed to the power creep of information perks on the killer side?

Most of my matches, if survivors were on a gen, I would find them. If they weren't, they were not my problem. But apparently this gameplay element got switched to auto-pilot somewhere along the way where the killer just triggers an info perk and clicks the red blot instead.

And now this thread's here to try and pass the bill to the survivors.

Distortion is not the problem here. If you don't want to tunnel, you don't tunnel. If you can't find someone because they're using distortion, then you can't find them without your perks finding them for you.

'But what if they're over in a random empty corner where they have no reason to go?'

Then they don't need Distortion, they just need a locker. Nerfing Distortion won't make a lick of difference. And yes, that kind of playstyle also existed long before Distortion was buffed into viability, and it'll continue long after Distortion gets crippled.

Distortion could be the pure cause or a symptom. Either way usually people with distortion can and will usually hide when they hear a TR making the killer have to spend even more time to find them. That time WILL add up leading to some to tunnel or camp.

  • @Firellius said:

Are you that helpless without your aura perks? Can you not find them on your own?

Thats not the point of the post. Its the lack of macro (in this situation just having free stealth) from the survivors that end up leading to situations where the killer tunnels or camps. Same could be said for people who exhaustion to main buildings or just going to some super safe part of the map.

  • Exactly what it sounds like. You can look further to the side during rush but doesn't actually increase turn angle. But it can increase flick angle as it changes direction to the one you're facing.

  • The only real person who can trap their hexes is trapper. You can just crouch past hag traps and I guess singu can do his cams but then you can just EMP.

  • @sulaiman said:

Why the next match? You could tunnel right then, because you just got your first hook. Its not that you choose to not tunnel that match, you just failed. Next match might just be the same. Sure, if you then get your first hook at no gens done and you tunnel, there is no reason you wouldnt have done it in the other match if you had got that first hook earlier.

I for one think of taking off a month from playing survivor. Maybe i keep playing as killer. If enough players think like me, it might send a message.

I play in according to what the survivors are like at the time I play. If I get multiple squads that just hold main buildings with map offerings then I will play accordingly.

  • @jajay119 said:

I find it funny killers complain when survivors get perks that double down on things, but it's ok for their side. Why would anyone play Weaker, Blight or Bubba anymore when Billy now combines all of their attributes together into a rediculously overpowered killer?

Billy an OP is not something that should be said in a single sentence.

  • This is one of the most volatile communities I've ever seen. A very noticeable of the community treats you like a bad guy simply for trying to win (gen rushing, tunneling, camping etc). And when you bring actual concerns they're just like "well you're saying this because you can't win 100% of the time". One of the most short sighted communities I've seen tbh.

Also the fact that I've legit seen cheaters only enable cheats just to say in EGC "Maybe if you didn't tunnel and slug"

  • Surv has always been stale. Its always the same second chance perks and exhaustion maybe every few months some stupid perk combo because of oversight or bugs. And I can already see a rise in wire tap given a certain video made on it when regarding the regression changes.

  • @MalekithHatesSnow said:

I'm just pissy that Hillbilly got so coddled he can use his chainsaw endlessly (which instadowns btw) almost no hit cooldown can speed across the map can speed across loops where you can barely react and if you're being back revved there's nothing you can do except hope for a window.

Meanwhile Xenomorph gets flamed constantly knocking him out of his chase ability, a tail attack. BHVR is so inconsistent with their counterplay balances

Honestly he deserves it after years of horrible map design, collision and overheat.

  • I didnt agree with anything. You example of "why recovery addons should be nerfed" is just not a good example. And I dont think they even need to be nerfed.

you´re obviously not reading my comments, his second chainsaw run he bumped in the green random circle, it was enough time to the survivor (me) run away to a safe loop, and you´re not considering the fact that billy mooves at 2.1 m/s after canceling the chainsaw, and moves at 0.0ms when he bumps, but when he jusr CANCELS his chainsaw, he can move, the cooldown is smaller, no bumps happened at 0:03

pseudo insta saw, i´m talking about the speed he recovers to iniciate another chainsaw sprint, i´m talking about how he can stop running and basically 2 seconds after he can (while moving) already turn on his chainsaw, the 5% is fine, pay attention

It WOULD have been enough time to run to a safe loop if you weren't in a dead zone. Judging by tile after the pallet wall there was no way you were making it there if there even was a pallet there without taking a hit. Once again the recovery addons did little there and recovery or not you ran back towards the deadzone cause he zoned you which happened regardless of recovery addons.

Both players could have done things better but saying recovery addons need a nerf when both of you could have done better is silly. Maybe if you had a better example.

  • Turrets are pretty much fine. You just need to be creative with them and not mindlessly place them around the middle of an area where its super expected.

what about try to think for 1 second: this is not my first game against a hillbilly, this is not my first game as hillbilly, this is not the first time i try to loop a hillbilly, this is not the first time i´m in a dead zone, this is not the first time i´m healing a survivor

and now, stop ignoring what really matters about the video, how many distance i made for each chainsaw cancel? that´s what matters, when he bumps at 0:08 i MAYBE had time to go for the main building without getting downed (but i was not paying attention at all), but when he cancels the chainsaw he´s not slowed down, he recovers in less than 2.5 seconds, he can charge his chainsaw faster because of the overdrive, he´s basekit the fastest killer in the game (he´s also 4.6), he´s probably one of the most fun killers in the game imo, no need for that pseudo insta saw

ok "if he bumps i maybe have distance to go to main building" this is how I know YOU don't know billy CDs. Judging by his animations alone he was only running Tmix which is a 0.3 second reduction to the cooldown. That ~0.6 extra second of distance would NOT have made a difference considering the first actual saw attempt on you he hit a wall which doesn't get reduces by Tmix.

Also a 5% increase on charge speed is HARDLY anything considered "pseudo insta saw" TRUE insta saw was the charge addons and old tinkerer and even then after tinkerer was reworked insta saw was FAR below 2 second charge where the 5% you get from overdrive only shaves off 0.125 seconds of charge time.

My point still stands that the issue in the clip wasn't recovery addons. It was your teams poor positioning.

I am unsure what you are trying to say.

Billy in the video missed 4x and the survivor made no distance.

Put any killer in the "missed 4x" situation and you will make distance as a survivor.

If you want to dismiss everything and call it complaining then there's nothing further to discuss and I am unsure if that approach in a public forum is the right call. You do you

Its a literaly dead zone. Any killer could miss around 3 times and still get a hit. Its just unreasonable to ask for a nerf to certain addons because the other side didnt enforce the simple safety net of not healing in a dead zone. Maybe if the example was better but no matter what the survivor was going to go down there even with old billy CD.

  • @ChuckingWong said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3641779#Comment_3641779

Because if you miss 4 times with any killer that I can think of you can actually get away, or there is not a one shot mechanic even if you are zoned.

If this video was Oni whiffing 4x ... you would already be half way across the map

If this video was Bubba whiffing 4x... he probably would have to resort to M1, I dont even know if you would have enough charges to whif 4x

For the non one shotters that miss this many times eventually they would hit you, but this provides you a window to get some distance.

So regardless if this is a dead zone or not, missing this many times on any killer in the game, except for Billy here, you have an extremely high chance of getting some distance/away.

Here with billy you just dont care about any of that. Hope this helps clarify.

    1. Bubba in that same exact scenario would get the down first try because its a dead zone with no window
    2. Oni would also get the down relatively fast because he can just zone with demon dash and its not hard to actually hit the person

This post is just for the sake of complaining because they played poorly.

  • @ChuckingWong said:

Regardless of a deadzone or not.

This killer missed a lot of times. So much so in fact that they are still rewarded with a down, there is 0 counter play other than "not being there"

At least with other killers you dont have a one shot mechanic+speed behind this. They will have to catch at base speed with a one shot (ghost face, Bubba) or they will move fast but not have a one shot (nurse, blight, wesker)

The problem is having all this forgiveness in missing 4x and just having 0 counterplay WITH THAT in mind. Which is pretty broken.

Wdym regardless of dead zone? If there was a tile they would have taken way longer to get that down. The survivors made a huge mistake in the video which is healing in a deadzone on an open map against a billy but now they're asking for nerfs because they couldn't think ahead.

  • The cool downs werent the problem in that clip. You guys were trying to reset in a dead zone so no matter how many saws the billy missed you would still most likely end up going down even with old cooldown.

  • Or give it a couple weeks because a lot of people need to learn how to actually play against billy in the first place. Its still the same counterplay as old billy of just pre drop and he cant do much unless he has lopro.

  • @anarchy753 said:

Being able to stop EVERY gen from progressing for two and a half minutes is ludicrous. And genuinely, survivors are standing around with their dick in their hands every time it happens waiting to be allowed to play the game again.

DMS should flat out just not trigger from anything that FORCES the survivor to let go of the gen.

I mean this is the bi-product of survivors wanting killers to not tunnel or camp. Killers get a perk to actually rewarding hooking other survivors but still survivors arent happy. Also the fact that its a play nice for value combo. I would agree if it worked for EVERY hook but 3 times at max? It's a non-issue.

  • @Seraphor said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3639710#Comment_3639710

Then your MMR is too high, and you shouldn't be tunneling, so your MMR can have a chance to decrease.

MMR exists to help ensure everyone has a roughly 50% chance to 'win'. (The game is asymmetrical so it actually works out to be about 45/55 but that's another topic) It's a pvp game, one side wins, the other side loses, that's how pvp works.

But dbd players aren't content with a 50% win rate and have to win all the time whatever the cost. So they employ cheap/crutch tactics, inflate their MMR, and get stuck in a spiral of suffering.

For anyone who doesn't tunnel, tunneling isn't necessary, because they don't have sky-high MMR.

Yeah but mmr just doesn't have a place in this game. And its boring to lower my MMR just so i can let 2 survivors go by basically AFK'ing because any good clips I could get in lower mmrs will drastically decrease.

  • Anything other than the default. With the default it constantly feels like I'm playing with a magnifying glass

  • MMR is. You try to play the game normally as killer and more often then not by the time you get first hook 3 gens are done leading you to tunneling on the next match.

  • @RFSa09 said:

You guys talk like it was the most easy killer to outplay like what?

Sorry but I don’t think 180 hits are predictable like you guys said so much, you know he can fake the 180 and his hits hitbox are the size of a truck and it’s impossible to dodge

this addon still gives you 2 tokens which is the insane parte and gives speed, just stack this with blighted crow and boom its better than double speed

they should at least give him the penalty for turning like it was before and that’s it

Whats the point of even complaining about speed now when the max you can get is 288%.

  • Diminishing returns on slowdowns just seems like a bad idea considering there's so many mediocre slowdowns that would need to be buffed in the process. Like sure I would gladly take diminishing return for slowdown if huntress' lullaby was actually good for something in return on the surv side to get toned down.

There is no maybe about it. He moves faster while recovering and can recover in under ~2 seconds with those addons. Halving the % for each addon would be more than enough of an adjustment.

6% and 4% respectively just wouldn't be worth to use the addons on their own.

  • Comparing this to the Eruption meta is just plain wrong. At least with the gen block you can do actions meanwhile with incapacitated you couldn't. Also Grim Embrace only works 4 times and that requires UNIQUE hooks. Like its either this meta or back to a tunneling meta EVERY single game.

  • WOOO I LOVE HAVING TO GO THROUGH MULTIPLE MENUS TO PLAY THE GAME WOO BABY

  • Used to be blight back with OG 180s on midget blight. Now its just whatever i feel like playing.

  • As long as we never go back to DH for distance or endurance stacking then DH is completely fine.
