I've been playing against a lot of spirits since the update, the directional audio is fine. It seems to be strongly divided into 6 quadrants around the survivor though. So theres a bit of wiggle room in what the game deems to be your 'front' and the 'sides'. Whoever thought she was gutted is delusional.
-
Personally I play on controller and what I did to get used to the flicks that need higher sensitivity was steadily increasing the camera sensitivity about 5-10% after every few games, if I started to struggle then I'd stay at that point a bit longer to get used to the speed. Now I play at 100% and can hit some pretty disgusting downs.
Something that helps to keep in mind is that you need to move less every time the sensitivity goes up, think about that spongebob episode, only one toe on the accelerator.
-
Okay, not gonna lie, it looks like sometimes they were hit after the dead hard completed

Circle of healing is obviously strong, superior to self-care, but I think the way inner strength can synergize with other perks fairly well makes it equal. I've been having a lot of fun with a self care/inner strength/built to last/MoM (w/ medkit) build myself lately.
Also in terms of healing speed I tend to prefer desperate measures over botany knowledge, it just feels more clutch when you need it.
-
My favorite starter build for PH personally is
BBQ - points + auras
Discordance - Prevents getting genrushed in the mid-end game, can be paired with tinkerer for sniping
I'm All Ears - Helps train you in tracking shots behind walls, can be replaced later for a preferential perk like Whispers
I've also been seeing Blood Favour paired with Crowd Control to really start shutting down survivor defenses recently, coupled with PH's ability to judgement through walls you are almost as good as nurse at ignoring obstacles.

Hackers...huh. Possibly. That would explain a great deal. So many weird moments where someone just vanishes, heals instantly or always knows exactly where I am. Thing is - these are also absolutely not bad players. Very good looping, knows where pallets are, DHs and dodges perfectly to avoid shreds.
I'm actually seeing a lot of these legacy skins now that I think about it. At least 4 in the last 24 hours.
Thats a pretty high density all things considered, as Mr_K pointed out, you might be higher MMR than you think as hackers naturally climb MMR by always escaping and most of them usually only do subtle stuff. The ones that are all flashy get banned.
-
Its my understanding that there is not a large community of people that have legacy skins. So if you are really facing that many unique accounts with legacy they are probably hackers.
I think in my 1000 some hours playing that I've only seen one person with it.
-
I have to say, 100% of the salty/abusive messages I get after a game are from survivors.
And when I play survivor I would say about 85% of the time my team kills me, not the killer.
Survivors themselves have taught me not to have mercy for them for they will have none for me. So I don't pull any punches any more.
Someone DC'd at 5 gens? Well that sucks, hope you guys can get those gens done.
Everybody misplayed and ended up slugged? That sucks, hope you got unbreakable.
Got farmed off the hook? That sucks, hope you have DS otherwise you are going right back on it.

You need to hook a survivor first for it to work and it only works for 45 seconds.
It's not that powerful of a perk, but it is very consistent. That's why people run it.
This perk is not consistent at all, I don't know how many games now where I've used pop instead of ruin because I find how fast ruin breaks to be obnoxious and not once have I gotten significant value out of pop. Either the only worthwhile gen pops in your face, or 45 seconds is up by the time you find a gen worth damaging.
-
For how often they break the game they might as well just leave it off.
-
They should give billy the ability to rub against stuff like Oni. Obviously not completely grinding face into the wall, but hitboxes are so incredibly punishing and a lot of them seemingly for no reason other than laziness.
Meanwhile Blight slips and slides on stuff you actually want to hit.
-
Platform: PS4 pro
Connecting to match as killer
Crossplay enabled
Issue seemingly not present connecting to match as survivor solo, or in group.
-
In my experience, the gens are going to get done unless all survivors are dead. Even if there is only 1 survivor in the map left, they'll still finish that gen as their teammate dies.
In all reality the only choice you have to make is how to deal with them getting done. Personally I choose to use lots of chase/information perks to snowball. I've been having a lot of fun using BBQ/Retribution/Plaything + 1 interchanging perk which gives a hefty 119 seconds of aura reading if you get 100% value.
-
I've been having great fun with Retribution + Plaything which really helps counter boon totems since it'll block a totem spawn for 90 seconds and then you get another 24 seconds on top of that because normally they'll get blessed instead of broken right now. Plus, 75 seconds of aura reading is insane when you get 100% value.
-
I've been having a blast with the new retribution in combination with Plaything on killers like spirit, wraith, ghostface, oni, myers, blight, and legion. 75 seconds of aura reading is pretty strong! Haven't really noticed shadowstep at all to be honest.
-
DS currently does not deactivate when blessing a totem, or uncaging someone facing PH.
-
Most of the time when I have a 'TTVer' in my lobby I try to open their stream and either they aren't streaming or their stream cannot be found. Although lowkey I do like watching the VOD back from killer matches to see how they/their team reacts to say, my huntress shots or oni flicks. The "YO DUDE #########" from an orbital huntress hatchet is a guilty pleasure.
-
Streetwise, Built to Last, WoO, Iron Will
With medkit.
-
I can't believe this wasn't the base behavior.
-
The system can't differentiate between a 'legitimate' and an 'intentional' DC, all the game sees from its side is that you lost connection to the server hosting the game, no more or less.

How about we just make it meet in the middle? If you cleanse a Hex, Undying will protect it 2 times.
I advocated for undying to lose aura reading for it to be 1/2/3. Since you could always find undying itself and cut off the respawns at the source, but it would still be useful with a multi-hex build.

whats the point if survivors have 5 perks to find totems and cleanse them faster than ever before; this game is now to op for survivors
Well, plaything soft counters boon totems by making only 1 survivor able to touch the totem for 90 seconds. Depending on how fast you are hooking you could easily gobble up all the totem spawns. Plus survivors have been looking for totems, which made them more predictable so I've been getting 2-3 hooks before the first gen is even thinking about popping. Usually at most 1 boon totem has been getting set up in my games.

Hoe 75 seconds ? Retribution gives 15 secs when is cleansed no?
Yeah, so 75 seconds assumes you get all 4 Plaything breaks with Retribution last. But normally I only need 2-3 Plaything breaks before the game is over.
Lowkey, plaything also blocks totems for 90 seconds too, maybe thats soft countering the boons?
-
Honestly, sometimes it is. There are killers where I need that 2500 deviousness from nobody escaping to get a perfect point game. Also I'm not going to get all of my devout emblem, how else am I going to farm grades as fast as possible without double pipping every game?
-
Just play totems that are meant to be broken. I've been having a blast with the new Retribution with Plaything.
-
Honestly I've been having a pretty good time with Hex: Plaything and Hex: Retribution which gives 75 seconds of aura reading now if getting 100% value. I haven't really noticed shadowstep at all, maybe thats because people are only running circle of healing perhaps?
-
I think players of all skill levels can get use out of it. I'm unclear why its considered a noob perk, considering it basically negates a killers ability to drive you into a dead zone later in the match.
-
There needs to be more opportunity cost for using the totems if the blessings are going to remain infinite.
A cooldown for example, or if a boon totem is snuffed that was on a hex totem, that hex comes back.
Theres just not enough differentiation between cleansing and blessing, especially if the blessing mechanic is going to go forward with more effects, it'll just make cleansing more and more obsolete which will give rise to more NOED and endgame builds centered around it.

whatever happened to the kick up dust the devs wanted to implement? they got cold feet on that one?
It wasn't able to be implemented on the PTB in time, so then they decided to just let the directional phase walk noise go live by itself to see how things went.
-
This just happened to me on PS4.
-
Honestly they should bring back her traps activating when EGC begins.
-
Its just a different kind of corrupt intervention basically. You basically just have to decide if you want your slowdown all at once at the start, or intermittently throughout the match.
-
Its because most of their power was rolled into baseline deathslinger to compensate for the ADS nerfs. Similarly to how they shifted some of the ghostface cooldown from addons into basekit with this patch as well.
-
500k take it or leave it
-
Only if all generators became blocked while a survivor is hooked.

Wraith is a free killer, hes meant to be easy to play and get good results. It seems like you don't understand how lunge works in conjunction with movement speed for you to be upset about Wraith.
Lunge works by transitioning a killer from 4.6 m/s to 6.9m/s for .3 seconds. If a killer is less than 4.6 they are set to it, however if they are faster then that it means their lunge is longer because of how the speed escalates.
Now heres the crucial part, when coming out of uncloak, Wraith is already at lunge speed, 6.9 m/s. So that means his lunge is enormous, probably only beaten by Spirit with Wakizashi Saya (old one) because her movement speed is obviously at a minimum going to be 7.04m/s.
Its honestly enormously moronic for them to nerf his one strength, a strength that is not even the best in the game for that matter, after they spent all that time buffing him up, considering all you have to do to avoid this enormous lunge is just leave or vault something.

I hadn't meant too argue against the hatch. I just meant the green key shouldn't let survs have easier escapes just to give it extra power and get rid a wasted chest search
The green key is literally the only item that is rendered completely unusable by finding it in a trial. Just seems like a stupidly archaic mechanic at this point considering how gutted keys have/will become. Far better to standardize key interaction with hatch across them all, and then differentiate their strengths with aura reading from there to more ably position keys within the meta now that their 'main' purpose has been neutered.
-
*Laughs in Plague main*

@Bran said:
Hatch shouldn't be a ln easier way to escape for survivor.
Sure on some maps escape through door as last surv is almost impossible. But hey killer killed
As I said, its less to do with the hatch itself and moreso to reduce how awful it feels to find a green key in trial.
-
I assume they are just going to restore the original reveal mechanic where survivors can just spin in place and reveal him if they see one tiny bit of him for a fraction of a second, just because being able to stalk and expose survivors is too strong.
-
Since pinhead's release I've noticed that on PS4 that the scratchmarks don't load as a survivor runs anymore, but seemingly batch load into the tile all at once after the survivor has passed through it.
-
If I start feeling really irritated I'll just switch to clown and play my face camping build of starstruck, no way out, NOED, and sloppy butcher. Sloppy butcher to make pick up slower, NOED/NWO for obvious reasons, with starstruck performing the pivotal role of engineering the 'game throw' in the situation where you have someone on hook, down a 2nd trying to unhook, and 3rd/4th rush to unhook when you pick up.
The stupidity of being able to 3-4k every match while doing barely anything relieves the irritation by reminding you that you don't need huge, grand schemes for things to work out.
-
Its unlikely that anything will happen with ghostface due to the movie because they didn't negotiate for the rights to the story or anything for the handful of characters that played him, they actually only negotiated for the rights of the masks, standalone.

Thanks again for all tips.
so tar seems people are saying Doctor or Legion for chases.
or Plague, Oni or Blight for fun abilities.
I was reading a little about Oni...it seems that the power relies on scoring hits? Is that true? So if you don't get many hits you can't do much with him?
Also, question about the Doctor....someone said he has abilities for finding survivors...or was that Legion that has abilities for finding & chasing? Anyhow was wondering if that was as an innate ability or a perk as that might help me decide...seeing as many times I can't find survivors or lose them due to issues with FPP.
Oni's power, requires blood. For injuring a survivor at max health states you get 40%~ of his power charged, and while survivors are injured they will drop blood orbs which Oni can absorb to activate his power. Unfortunately Oni's perks are not that good on their own.
Legion has the ability to see killer instinct (heart beat) of other survivors in their terror radius after hitting an initial survivor with their power. I would say discordance is probably one of the most powerful generic tracking perks in the game.
Doctor can find survivors with his static blast ability, which has a base 60~ second cool down. Doctor also has a few addons that make it easier to find players, such as his 'Restraint' class of addons which causes the illusory madness doctor to stay for longer, or the 'Discipline' class of addons that put a big red stain target on survivors backs. Both of which the doctor can see, and can be invaluable against players that prefer to hide.

And allow M1 killers to be able to traverse the whole map in order to protect their hex totem? Not on your life sir.
No but seriously, I think they are paranoid that if they allowed that to happen then high mobility killers will suddenly shift their meta to protecting hexes instead of gens with ruin/undying(pop)/tinkerer.
And boy if you think nurse with ruin/undying/tinkerer is annoying, just wait until you see Devour Hope/TotH/Ruin/Undying (Edit where appropriate for playstyle.)
-
Oni.
Sure the start can be slow and in the end the game may be lost off a really terrible beginning, but thats basically true of all killers so...
However when you do get his power rolling it becomes quite the rush, pun intended.
Barreling out of the unknown to smash unaware survivors. Twisting around for that sneaky 90 degree down on a cheeky survivor.
There is also those moments playing huntress on Lery's, landing a hatchet threaded through multiple hallways, doors, and windows and you feel like you've unlocked the matrix vision.
-
Since you enjoy having fun outplaying around loops and stuff I would probably suggest killers like billy/oni/blight since they have a lot of nuances with their power curving around loops that could be enjoyable. A trait similarly shared with Demogorgon and his shred ability.
You could also try playing more general antiloop killers to see if you like how they feel, as Nemesis is in this category with his tentacle whip. That would be killers like huntress, deathslinger, trickster, and (if you felt like dropping money) Pyramid Head.
Spirit is arguably the strongest killer on console, but honestly all you need to really play her at a decent level is some moderate-high quality head phones. (Seriously, picked up some 30$~ turtle beaches with peripheral surround sound and its like night and day playing her.)
Something to note is that its pretty common for stuff to go on sale for the halloween season, so might want to hold off and see what happens in the next couple weeks.
-
I believe the devs have stated they actually like the ability to gen tap, so not only do I think its never going to be nerfed or dealt with. Its intensely likely that a kick buff will never happen either as the devs seem to be enormously adamant in forcing killers to use 3-4 gen defense perks, or just not use any at all and let the game end in 4~ minutes.
Or y'know, camp/tunnel/slug.
Ironically though, it would take just 2.5% regression per kick to force survivors to at least go even with the kill in time investment. (Before modifiers like brutal strength, toolboxes etc etc)
-
Well its pretty simple, flashlights were never as powerful as a medkit, ever. (Except for that very brief time when you could blind killers any time during a pick up for the save.)
Toolboxes were dialed back a bit. (Although it wasn't enough, base mechanics need looked at there to do anything)
Keys have been, and are going to get nerfed again.
That leaves only medkits.
Just like how now that spirit is getting nerfed people started complaining about blight and wraith.
In fairness, it probably doesn't help that there are youtubers like Pebsie putting out videos where you can get 75 heals out of a crazy medkit with 4 *new* built to last(s).
Personally I think built to last would still be strong if it only had the 66% then the 33%, without the full 99% first. Even if you could built to last back to back to get 99% total from both
