I have no doubt they will rework these add-ons once the legion changes come around, but until then we’re stuck with this interesting little add-on combo.
It is indeed very unhealthy for the game though.
-
I like these changes. Really all we need is increased speed and reduced fatigue and that is exactly what these changes are.
Would like more add-ons that focus on opening up new builds and synergies, but if this is what we got for the legion update I’d think I would be happy.

Let's not change Undying to what it was in the beginning...
But I do agree Boons are oppressive. The fact that blessing a HEX removes the Hex is a little overkill. I would suggest either having the Boon and Hex together on the totem, or the Hex disabled while the Boon is on it, but activated again if the killer removes the Blessing.
Blessing a hex totem takes much longer to account for how long it would take to cleanse it.
-
How do you suppose you allow survivors to better react to his power though? That fact that he was able to pull out his gun and shoot you before you could react was absolutely a problem.
-
Wdym it feels clunky? Is it too slow? Too fast? Something else?
The add-on absolutely needed to be nerfed because it was just too good.
-
Nope it’s meant to be .2 seconds :)
Also by the description of the text hitting a survivor with your tentacle already hinders a survivor. How long you might ask? Idk it goes away before I even have a chance to see it :)

99%ing the gates and then opening them in a chase, in order to bypass the EGC mechanic I guess?
I can see the issue with it, although I don't think is a particularly big issue except for killers running Blood Warden. However it can be used by survivor to hold the game hostage... in a sense, because the killer could open it themselves at that point.
But if we are to implement regression to a checkpoint, I don't think the red lights are a useful marker, as they activate quite early.
I would say just the last 5% should regress. Kinda like how you can only rwcover to 95% in the dying state. That last 5% would be just enough that you wouldn't be able to tap the gate in a chase and still escape.
With that strategy no longer reliable and a substantial risk, survivors would be inclined to open the gates when they have the chance, not saving it for a last minute chase escape.
It seems like people just want the EGC to favor killers which is not the intention of the mechanic. If they have a problem with survivors 99ing gates to avoid the EGC then they can just open them to start it yourself as the killer.
EGC is intended to force survivors out of the game so they can’t hold it hostage and the current system is fine.
-
Whats the problem with gates?
-
Yeah, these would be some nice changes overall, but I feel like everyone agrees this is what they should do to Legion. Increase speed, lower fatigue. We just gotta hope the devs change what the Legion players have been asking for YEARS.

Yeah I know I just want to echo the time a developer said trapper and clown aren't low tier you are just not playing them right🤣
Not what they said iirc. They just said Clown is underrated. Which was actually true.

You do realize that a chapter isnt neccesarily about the whole package, right? Let alone that the new chapter is still gonna release quite soon. But DBD has plenty of maps, I still rather have them balance existing maps rather than adding a new one. I mean, you do realize that if Pinhead came with a map, it would once again be a licensed map that is obviously going to be quite unbalanced because of it being a licensed map?
Yes, I understand that, but I was mostly just upset we didn't get much besides Pinhead. It would have been nice to get a few more balance changes or another realm beyond update or something at all. The bulk of my disappointment was rooted in the fact that the update itself had very little content not that it was listed as a chapter (though it did upset me a little which is why I mentioned it).
-
It always gets like this around patch days I've noticed.
-
I don't think they have much creative freedom when it comes to their backstories because of licensing issues. It's probably not because they're lazy.
Remember, each license is different and some characters are allowed a lot more freedom than others.
-
How about we wait and see how much the recent cloaked movement speed buff has helped him perform? I mean he got a MASSIVE 25% speed buff iirc in cloaked form so he may not need more.

Well in my opinion it's not great design to make a killer that is literally just a downgraded version of other better killers.
That’s not going to stop people from play trickster though. Many people just want to have fun and to a lot of people he’s more enjoyable than slinger and huntress. Also you can’t even compare any killer to trickster because each killer has their own strengths and trickster could get a hit where others may not be able to and vice versa.
-
Why does it matter the killer is worse than pre-existing charactes?
-
3 second fatigue. Honestly at this point that’s all I want.
-
I hope not, but I think we would have the actual yt teaser by now. Maybe it’s later today?
-
If I had fun and had a decently long game like 8-12 minutes with no dcs or suicides.

Ngl I'm going to die off laughter if the new chapter has absolutely nothing to do with this and they were just doing this to put us off.
Honestly that’s not unlikely. This could be them just embracing their buggy game.
-
You can hit the last survivor of the chain again with Feral Frenzy and I think it counts.
-
It's decent I'd say. Not bad not amazing just somewhere in the middle.
-
I would pay so much money for a killer that's a mix between a sorcerer and the Legion. A spread the pain type vibe killer that uses magic.
-
You don't need Pop, Ruin, Undying or massive game slow down to have a chance as Killer. You don't need to play scummy to have a chance as Killer.
Where is this ideology spreading from?
-
A good Nurse will catch you no matter how good you are at breaking LOS and playing off that. Stealth is 100% the way to go, and I hate saying this because stealth in this game is an extremely boring form of counterplay that should never be resorted to.
-
Yeah, but most people just want to mindlessly hold W and get free hits. Clown isn't for them and that's okay.
He's incredibly powerful in the right hands though.
-
This obviously isn't intentional, but I don't know how something like this got past QA.
-
I've seen some experienced players recommend Sloppy Butcher on Legion. Feral Frenzy stabs aren't considered basic attacks, and even if Feral Frenzy stabs applied Sloppy Butcher I wouldn't recommend it because you actually WANT survivors to heal as Legion.
It's extremely painful to watch.
-
League of Legends unfortunately.
-
Slowly started to remove my gen perks as I became more experienced at killer. I found that they're not necessary and I'd much rather have some fun with wild stuff like Coup de Grace or Trail of Torment.
-
Legion is about as good as you are.
-
Back when I played survivor only I thought BBQ was op. I’ve grown a lot as a player since then.

This is implying you don't get toxicity unless you play "scummy", which is just really really wrong, even playing as Huntress (who I don't consider OP at all) with absolutely 0 tunneling and camping and getting a 0 or 1k I'll still get the occasional comments (e.g. gg ez, baby killer etc. to rub salt in the wound of a defeat)
I would say I get salty comments maybe 20% of my games, max. I was actually considering starting to keep a log of how often it occurs, out of interest. Since we tend to remember negative events more, I have a feeling I overestimate the amount of salt/toxicity I see. At higher ranks now I think I've been seeing more ggs, although only when I lose.
That's my bad, I should have clarified. You can absolutely get toxic comments if you play normally, but it is just much rarer.
-
Mostly ggs or nothing at all in my end game chats. I don’t play scummy at all so there isn’t a real reason for anyone to be mad.
-
Highly recommend Enduring on them because they play much like other M1 killers. Surge, PGTW, Blood Echo, Brutal Strength, Bamboozle, Barbecue & Chili, and Thrilling Tremors, and Discordance are some other perks I'd recommend on Legion.
But whatever you do please don't stack 4 slowdown perks it's awful to play against and extremely unnecessary.
-
Imho, no. Surge is perfectly fine the way it is now. The only thing I would even think about changing is the basic attack requirement, but we already know that’s not happening.
-
VHS Porn is going to be interesting. These add-ons make me hopeful for future add-on passes.
-
The Game and Crotus Prenn Asylum updates and the big clown buff.
-
Power Struggle always had infinite uses and it's intended. My question is how the hell did he get it off twice? I can't even get Power Struggle to work one time.
-
Legion is alright. Certainly not the best or worse just a low-mid tier killer. You can absolutely succeed against good survivors if you know how to play them well.
-
Well, I often shoot for 12 hooks in my games so this is extremely helpful in this regard.
-
Helps Clown WAAAYYY more because he has control over where the gas will go and when to use it.
It’s an extremely powerful effect with a drawback if used incorrectly. I like it.
-
I see other survivors being sore winners all the time while I soloq. It's absolutely embarrassing I have to work with those people.
-
Hits have seriously been off though recently. I have literally seen myself hit someone over a pallet with 40 ping.
-
No. Reworking killers should be avoided if at all possible. I wouldn’t want my favorite killer removed from the game so that they are competitively viable in a game about as serious as Mario Party.
-
I’m not sure why some people really want chucky. I don’t ever see it happening and I would much rather just have Xenomorph or Jason. Way more iconic and terrifying, and not to mention sizable.
-
Dead hard especially grinds my gears. It’s why I run Blood Echo or Mindbreaker so often.
I don’t mind when someone uses dead hard to avoid a hit but to gain free distance after screwing up, are you kidding me?
-
Yeah, I agree with almost everything here.
But what's the point in even trying to give suggestions when the devs apparently think he's totally fine... I've lost all hope. We're stuck like this so we ought to make the best of it.
-
This whole time I thought it was because he had 6 fingers.
-
Anecdotal experience often doesn't represent the strength of certain combos. This goes especially for games like DbD.
