  • Any opinions on this, anyone got anything to say, please?

  • Anyone else? Please, I'd like to know some thoughts.

This only happens when you put the trap too close to the window or too far away from the pallet (+ sometimes trap hitboxes are just trash), solution: keep that in mind and set your traps better, nothing else you can do and absolutely no need to change (besides maybe increasing the traps hitbox and their size to buff trapper

    fair enough

I like the Obsidian Goblet, because having free undetectable while making trails isnt too strong but really neat

I think the Lying Figures are way too much for an add-on, it is hard to torment people, but copying nemesis power and making it into an add-on isnt good. - it should be unique to Nemesis or newer Killers with a different AI and effects

Rust Coloured Egg is absolutely great, i always wanted this

I dont know what to think of Crimson Ceremony Book, I would like to see it in a PTB

I guess you're right about the nemesis thing. But I feel like to add Lying Figures would be nice for an addon. But a problem I have as Pyramid head and some others is the map pressure sometimes. I know I need to practice to be better at it, and what not. But I feel like adding the Lying Figures would be interesting. It would also give those models more of a purpose that to inhabit the cages.

Another thing I wanted for the Lying Figures was to allow Behavior to do a bit of testing with what kind of other AI they can do from melee to ranged AI if possible.

  • I know my last post wasn't as good, but I feel that this one might be better.

  • Give Pyramid Head Lying Fingures to roam around, but only with an Addon or so. Maybe.

I dont get it, why exactly do you want to delete the penalty for stepping in your own traps. It is NOT an ability, its in the game to punish players, who step in their traps even though they can see them. It exists to make sure that people use their brain when placing traps, because they cant just go through them (like in real life). This mechanic makes 100% sense, even though it hurts the trapper, it makes the game realistic and provides better gameplay.

Well the problem with said penalty, is that some times the traps don't trap the survivor or they can just run past it. However trapper will get caught in his traps when the survivor couldn't. I'm not talking about Dead Hard over the traps, I'm talking about how survivors hitboxes allow them to squeeze through where the trap is located sometimes and ignore it all together. Along with the fact that traps at windows, survivors can usually either ignore it when clearly walking right into it, or they jump over it without getting punished. So how is any of that fair?

  • @HowsItHanging said:

This entire change is just letting survivors use Trappers power to hurt him, 10% is pretty useless in terms of stun recovery and 20% on all actions is just Fire Up except it's limited timed and I have to stun myself to use it. On top of that, the breakable wall part is... Not helpful? I can get a map without breakable walls or just not need to break specific walls and so that entire part while not "bad" isn't helpful enough.

The change would make Trapper damn near unplayable against a SWF, if he wasn't already.

Also as a side-note you could just take his traps and place them in spots he's never going to find because he can't see the auras, amd he just won't have a power at all.

The idea is just too easy to abuse and is an enormous nerf for very little benefit as breaking pallets 0.3s faster for 30 seconds after stepping in a trap is not an ideal power in a game with characters like Hag, Nurse, or Spirit...

Thats why I'm just thinking about this. But honestly I was just trying to think of a reason to keep the fact he can get stuck in his own traps, considering he can see the aura of said traps, how he gets stuck in them to me I find really stupid. Since sometimes traps placed by trapper won't trap survivors but they will trap him instead. So this is more of those moments. Or BHVR can find a way to fix that issue so that doesn't happen all the time or even better, just remove that ability to get stuck in them.

But since they've had it for years, I highly doubt they ever will remove it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/251531/buff-nerf-for-trapper-and-idea-for-adding-new-maps

Ok, so there's 1 massive problem with these proposed changes. It makes playing Trapper as the machete man instead of the Trapper better, and makes regular Trapper worse. It encourages him to just not use his power.

If I were to buff Trapper, I would make the Trapper Bag basekit, for one. Two, give him a speed boost when someone steps on a trap and for 5 seconds afterwards (prob a 15-35% speed increase). Three, I'd make all trap spawns be close to the center of the map.

A giant rework like you proposed is just unnecessary, and all things considered, kind of stupid.

You could of just said unnecessary and I would of got it, the "stupid" part wasn't technically necessary.

  • @Yords said:

Your idea is to allow survivors to trap the Trapper? The buffs still don't seem good enough either.

In a way. It doesn't always benefit them, it can back fire on them too. I didn't also want to make the buff too strong so that it seems like it's overpowering the trapper in a drastic way. Just a minor tweak that can help him.

Also considering the "Getting Caught in your OWN TRAPS" has been here since the beginning of the game and since they haven't removed that ability I doubt they are going to remove it. So I tried making the negative positive.

  • Sometimes the Sync bugs out and it robs me of any points I earned. AS KILLER!

  • Hillbilly, Oni, and Blight.

Because I don't know about you, but I'd be shitting my pants if I saw any of those 3 running straight for me.

Even though they're my good boys and I love them, they're terrifying, which is also why I love them.

  • Lets get this one seen by many, I know it's not the most important discussion, but I've been watching Crypt TV's stuff for a long time and I believe their work was given the short end of the stick when it came to these skins. Visually they're wonderful, so thats a pass. But the only changes we want is mostly simple changes that the devs can do. So simple that it can be done (with their skill) maybe under a day or less.

So please devs, if anything give us a reason better reason to buy these new Crypt TV skins, other than the fact they're Crypt TV skins.

So youre complaining about the rarity? You wont even buy them anyway. I dont see no issue with the new huntress skin it looks amazing. Its a skin, relax.

I'm just saying, if it's going to be legendary, give it a reason to be legendary.

Sadly they probably wont since they will most likely just move on to the next thing.

Really sad since they got permission to use Crypt TV license but all we got was skins which not only that it was just basic skin that only changed appearance. One thing they could have done to make it a bit better was not to make only The Hag changeable but make all Crypt TV skins swappable and changeable so at least we can experiment with outfits since if Hag can be a separate skin why not the rest or at least make the head and torso a single and make the weapon separate so people can just swap weapons because that would be a bit easier on the devs to make happen since the killer weapons are not connected to the body in any way besides Hag and few other killers.

Still if Hag is changeable why not the rest of the skins or at least weapons since most likely we will never get custom voices or animations so might as well make some parts of the skin changeable.

Edit: Cause if Survivor skins can have extra stuff like new Idles and voices but not killers just make killers skins not linked or at least the weapons.

    Exactly. The last part specifically.

Okay I see where you're coming from with this although I still don't really see why it should only be added if it plays a big role.

Because it could help a character with their struggle, add on to any pain they might feel. Maybe their life was hard because of who they liked. Think of it like Nurse and her Husband, their relationship started to go a bit south and that added onto her already building stress. Imagine it was about a character who's been hurt so much about their sexuality or because they like the same sex, that could add to their stress and ultimately be partly what brought them to their down fall. I'm saying if you want to make a character gay, or bisexual, have that play a minor role in their character so it doesn't feel lazily slapped on there just so that the game or movie or story can be "Up to code" and "PC" just because.

Since that ultimately can ruin a character. Sexuality of a character should only matter if it helps define that character more or if builds off of their struggle or you know.

If it's slapped on, then theres no reason it should be there. Like Soldier 76 with Overwatch, the team had confirmed he was gay but it wasn't taken so well because there was no reason for the team to discuss his sexuality. Unlike Tracer who is gay, which also shapes her character in a slight way. It's not a major part, but we get to learn more about her without it blatantly slapped on for no reason and it helps us see another layer to her character without that part being her ONLY LAYER.

    1. Being LGBTQ+ is a very personal and individual experience. It's something that all of us (LGBTQ+ people) interact with differently and express in different ways. For some people it's a big part of their life, for other's it's something they're fairly indifferent to. Whether or not someone's sexual orientation or gender identity has played a big "role" in their life doesn't make them a better or worse example of LGBTQ+ representation. Maybe their identity as a queer person will have a large impact on the character the developers choose to write, maybe it won't - would it really make a big difference either way?
    2. How would a character "completely revolve around being Gay or Bi"? Why would this be a bad thing if it were the case? I'm not trying to be antagonistic, I'm just genuinely curious as to why this would be an issue.
    3. We have lots of things in the lore that really don't play a large role in the characters we see currently. For example, was it necessary that Dwight used to deliver pizzas? Couldn't he have been a waiter, or a cleaner? Would it have really changed the character we see and play? I ask this because at the end of the day, lots of the lore is arbitrary. What's wrong with the lore just being the way it is, just because - must there be a full-on explanation for every minute detail?
    1. "How would a character "completely revolve around being Gay or Bi"? Why would this be a bad thing if it were the case? I'm not trying to be antagonistic, I'm just genuinely curious as to why this would be an issue."

Because from a writing stand point, if their character revolves around being gay or bi, their character is = Gay or Bi. In other words, they have no character. They don't have morals, they don't have layers, they're just one thing and only that thing.

Thats why it's not a good idea to have a character revolve around 1 specific thing, in this case their sexuality. Because 1 sided characters can't relate to other people, so nobody will care enough for that character because there's not much else to that character.

It’s not wrong to think that he could be, but it’s also not really a good thing to assume.

I guess and an assumption are two different things. I want to say he's gay, could I be wrong? Of course, would it surprise me? A little but I'm not saying: "He has a very flashy attire, so he's gay!"

    I'm not saying that.

So is it really my fault to have a slight thought that maybe Trickster is either Bi or Gay? Is that wrong of me to think that?

When there's no mention of that and you're just going off of stereotypes? Yes, absolutely. I don't remember the name, but a user here commented that he'd been bullied for being "feminine", so he was stereotyped as "gay".

    Stereotyping is demonstrably harmful.

I mean if he acts feminine-

Wait why are we talking about this?!

Who cares about this guy, if he acts feminine then thats him, bullies are just selfish pricks that hate their lives. So why does it matter?

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2162831#Comment_2162831

The reasoning is actually very simple:

    • LGBTQ+ people deserve to be treated the same as their heterosexual counterparts.
    • The developers have included heterosexual pairings in the lore (Frank and Julie, David and his ex, the Nurse and her husband, the Nurse and the Wraith etc.)
    • Therefore, LGBTQ+ people should get the same representation.

By all means, you're free to feel as though sexuality has no place in a horror game. Although this must extend to encompass the heterosexual pairings too - where was the outcry when the Nurse was confirmed to have a husband?

If you want to talk about sexuality in a horror game, or any genre. All I'm wanting is that the sexuality of a character should be mentioned if it plays a bigger role. Because making someone gay or bi, without it playing a role in their life is beyond pointless and just adds something that we could of gone without. So am I for a gay or bi character in the game, sure Idc as long as their character doesn't have to:

    1. Completely revolve around being Gay or Bi
    2. Be added, just because but doesn't play at least a little role.

I mean imagine there was a game about saving the world from aliens or some [BAD WORD], while you're playing an alien from another race. Would its sexuality matter? Do you want to know its sexuality because you want to make fan art of [BAD WORD] it?

Hi, have you heard of Mass Effect? You don't play an alien, but you do play a human, just like you play humans in this game (except Demogorgon).

Ok, whats it matter. All I'm asking about is why care about someones sexuality, when it's the last thing to focus on.

  • @WexlerWendigo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2162676#Comment_2162676

There is nothing in the lore that says anything about him being gay. If you’re implying he is because of how he dresses/acts, you might want to rethink what you’re saying.

I mean he could be, you don't know. I'm also sorry that when I think of a gay person, I usually default to the very flamboyant types, since the gay people I've met are very flamboyant. So is it really my fault to have a slight thought that maybe Trickster is either Bi or Gay? Is that wrong of me to think that? I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but I'm just saying.

  • What calling me a homophobe, because I'm not. I just don't get why a killer and survivors sexuality have any importants due to:

    1. This is a horror game.
    2. This game isn't about sexuality or fan service, it's about surviving a deity's trials.
    3. Finally, there is really no reason this should be important.

I mean imagine there was a game about saving the world from aliens or some #########, while you're playing an alien from another race. Would its sexuality matter? Do you want to know its sexuality because you want to make fan art of ######### it?

Come on dude, I'm all for pride and #########, I mean love who you want to love. But a survivor and killers sexuality is the last thing the devs and such need to worry about.

Wasted opportunity for the Legendary Crypt TV cosmetics. — Dead By Daylight

    Heres my thoughts

  • We got Trickster, isn't that enough for you?

  • The game devs should see our cries and give us what we want!

  • @Jb94 said:

I'm glad hag isn't legendary as she doesn't have to be and mixing and matching skins is pretty much the best part of cosmetics.

I am a bit glad too, however it still confuses me why she wasn't given the same treatment as the other two. How are they special. I adore the skins, but what makes them special aside from being created by one of the best horror channels on youtube that uses practical effects.

  • My idea is to make the Hatch like a hook. They have to fill a power gauge thing, and if they don't fully complete it then it restarts itself like the current hooks. Since I don't recall when having a key touch a lock equals the lock instantly undoing itself. So make the keys more realistic. Neuter them from what they once were.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

The Look-See skin I can see being a legendary because of the face and jaw movement, but the Mordeo one? The head maybe?

Apart from nit-picks and wishes for unique audio, I'm really glad they are earnable. I wasn't going to get them anyway because I'm not spending money on the game anymore, but the earnable part is so relieving to see. I don't know which one I want first.

Doctors Jaw already moves without the look-see skin, and if you saw the "Test Subject 1" skin for doctor

    image.png

You can see clear as day that he has no Eyes, and they're practically changed his face in general. Even with the plague doctor or the steampunk skin where his head has very noticeable changes.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

theyre different characters and therefore should be legendary. i dont know why hag isnt if im being honest

I know they're different characters, however they're not as different as Krampus and the Minotaur. Those skins were VERY different from the killers default model, so I understand that. However the Mordeo and Look-See skins don't have that much of a major change to Doctor or Huntress to earn the Legendary rarity.

  • If anyone knows someone who can make perk and power icons, I'd appreciate that very much.

  • Update V21 is out. Finished the Addons effects.

V22 will look at Janes perks and rework them.

  • Update 20 1/2

Made Anger Management into a Hex

Changed a few of the addon effects to fit the new power

Added a minor side ability for Enraged

Added a small speed boost for stun effects for Livid

    Update 21 (SOON)

    Will finish his addons effects

Will consider how to make Jane's perks better but less S Tier perks.

  • If anyone has any input or anything they want to say that can be used to help complete this chapter, then I'd appreciate any help I can get.

  • @NateyBoi said:

Nice job, ngl, you seem like your really invested in this and i like it!

    Thank you so much. :)

  • Maybe make sections of this, like how I did with my "Monster Under Your Bed" concept.

Because this is a little bit of a cluster, no offence but I do think that Pinhead would be a neat addition to the licensed killer.

  • UPDATE 1/2

Edited the power a little more, might go back to tweak the text to make more sense of the power if necessary.

My idea was he is effectively not in the game while hiding, and when he appears he forms out of a pool of shadows near the item. Kinda like the tiny dark creatures from Kingdom Hearts.

    Ooohhh, I see.

Hey remember me? I looked at this some more and had some ideas.

1)Power: You need to settle on either "Overt Chaser" or "Stealthy Ninja" I went with the Ninja route in my idea for this. Anyway decrease his terror radius to 20 meters. Then remove the first Legion-}Myers power, take his locker hiding and make it apply to Chests, Gens, Lockers, and Totems. He can teleport between these similarly to Freddy, with a laugh whenever he teleports. Make him take a few seconds to emerge from something, and have Undetectable for a short time, 10-20 seconds. Also he cannot teleport or emerge from something a survivor is interacting with. This allows him to hide and move about quickly and somewhat discreetly, while still allowing Survivors to know where you more or less are.

2)Perks: I like Enraged, but make it need 50% progress and remove the oblivious part. Then, change the speed to closer to other speed perks, because +15 is Legion perk speed, maybe it gets faster as it decreases more, up to +15 in the last few seconds. On the bonus side, it only stops when you hit a survivor or the gen stops regressing. This would allow him to hit a gen, and run away to bother other survivors, getting faster while it goes until he hits you, or another survivor stops the regression, plus it would work nicely with my version of Anger Management.

Livid sounds interesting, but currently its too all over the place to work consistently, you need to down someone, then chase them later, which then lets you know for a few seconds where your previously chased AND downed obsession was? Maybe make it something like Light born, every time a survivor(not the obsession) stuns you(pallet, flashlight, DS, etc) you can see their auras for 4/5/6 seconds and they become your obsession. This would give him a bit of Aura reading while also allowing it to combo with other Obsession perks, like Rancor.

Anger Management is just so busted, the only way it might work is as a hex, even then I would take it down to one skill check. Either way its still basically Overcharge. If I may, how about this? Every time you kick a generator, Anger Management take affect, for the next 1/2/3 generators, every time a survivor starts repairing it it makes a loud noise for you, allowing you to punish their audacity for repairing in your presnese.

Can you also try to explain what you're meaning with the power that he teleports between items or so. I'm trying to find ways to explain that he can do that now, but I'm having trouble because with the lockers it makes a bit of sense, he goes in and he can't be seen. But with the gens, chest, totems, etc he's still kind of able to be seen so that makes it problematic.
