You could.
But (as I said before) I did not implicate to do it for free.
You do realise however that if he took his regular pay then they could just put out a job offer for that, if they wanted someone to do it and pay them fairly?

It adds to the game from the killer's perspective. From the survivor's perspective there's little to no counterplay, especially on high walls with no line of sight. It's also obviously a bug, since you are turning off your collision using a strange method of hugging a collision object while looking up or down.
Not really against hug tech you can just leave the loop and what not, but if the blight does not have hug tech anymore he will just use bump logic and get a safer hit... So this thing existing is a win win for both sides.

I cannot believe you are actually trying to defend turning the whole screen grey but the survivors and killer bright red so you can see them across the map. Such wild tomfoolerly.
Also you do know things can fall off the whitelist instantly right? TOS is what you should follow.
Just don't cheat, its not hard.
Ok so you went from a legal standpoint to a moral one? I am only defending the use since it is allowed... And you could just agree that you are in the wrong here from that standpoint.
Sure, but they still stated that they will not ban people for using filters? So even if it changes from whitelisted you still have that statement that is somewhat binding.
What is apparently hard for you is to understand what cheating actually is, and using filters is by definition not cheating, since it is allowed in the rules... So either find yourself some better arguments or accept that you are just not right in this specific point.

you do realize that TOS is legally binding right and "he said so bro" is not....right?
As for the whitelisted programms, some crosshair programs and for example re-shade are white listed by EAC, therefore they are allowed as stated here.
Reminder: EULA Please remember that Dead by Daylight’s end user license agreement which can be found on https://deadbydaylight.com/eula (the “EULA”) governs your participation and use of the game and its associated upgrades, patches, and updates and related services. In case of conflict between the EULA and this page, the…If you can provide me the specific part of the eula that states that other rules that are not mentioned in the same document do not apply unless condition xy then we can talk, but otherwise just take the L.
Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer survival horror & action game where one player takes on the role of the Killer, and the other four players play as Survivors. So this would even authorize you to for example modify the game files, if they stated it...

If you modify your game files in any way per TOS its cheating. Just because they gave up because its rampant doesn't suddenly mean its not cheating. If they man up and ban people for doing it, they'll stop.
Ehm... You do realise that if they state something to be allowed, then the tos does not really matter? So by definition it is not cheating... And filters don't even mod the game files, so what is your point there?

just ban everyone using them, and modifying the game files in any way. that includes portrait packs.
the fact that almost every streamer does this and shows it off should quickly net them a ban. that's rule # 1 in every single game known to man (DO NOT MODIFY THE GAME FILES) and yet you have influencers showing off that they....modify the game files and use filters??????
Modifying the game files can be used to add options that are already in the game but not in the menu, also there are filters that only apply on the stream so it is better to watch for the viewers, but does not change for the player...
Also you cannot ban people for using filters that are integrated in monitor or graphics card program... So what even is your suggestion?

stretch res was also base-feature. it provided unfair advantage. red filters are the same problem.
OK then, but one thing can be outlawed by the devs or at least removed from settings and the other one cannot... So even if that is the case it does not matter as you cannot forbid filters or make them unable to use.

In every sense as far as Im concerned.
Every down has a minimum amount of time before a pickup, no time or effort is wasted on carrying the survivors, focus is placed on chases and not hook states, survivors get additional chances and team altruism is encouraged, removes the issue of hook deadzones, 4x the amount of time for teammates to provide aid
I would not agree with that at all...
-

Slugging is better than hooks and allows for more chases. Bleedouts are on survivors for poor execution of altruism.

With these changes, probably. Right now his Snares are so useless there’s no need to wake up and waking up just wastes time.
Being awake is technically better but being asleep isn’t really that much different. If you are awake, he’s an M1 killer with zero power. If you’re asleep, he’s a weaker Clown and Clown isn’t even good. Even if survivors were permanently asleep he would still be bottom tier because of how bad the dream world is. Heading to a clock or failing a skill check isn’t really worth it when being asleep isn’t that bad to begin with.
I just think the dream world needs to have some threat to it. I’m sure there are plenty of better ways to go about it then my idea, and if you have any ideas I would love to hear them :)
Yeah sure I mean you could give survivors some form of hallucinations? So for example seeing random Freddys walk by in the distance or even fake survivors for a few seconds, you could have different stages of the dream state similar to what doctor has, but they would build up over time, so you have some build in slowdown to be forced to get the clocks.
I would however like there to be a skillfull component to him, because right now he just puts stuff on the floor and that is neither interesting nor really skillfull to use, I just don't know what exactly... :/

It’s not on every survivor. It’s just those who are asleep and waking up is not that difficult.
Being asleep should be dangerous. Right now there is literally no point to waking up. But if this becomes too oppressive then sure, add a sound cue for when he activates it.
Acceptable, but I would say that beiing awake basically negates more than half of his power so it is pretty favorable to be awake instead of asleep.

Slugging people to bleed them out is somewhat toxic and also not hooking them... The thing is even though you say you are not doing it to be toxic you cannot tell me you don't see how it still is... It is not the intention that counts but what you do... If I tbag a player for 20 minutes straight I can tell myself all day long I didn't do it to be toxic, but it is what it is.

Are you seriously telling me it’s easy to dodge Huntress hatchets at 10m away, but it would be impossible to micro dodge Trickster knives? I’m done here. This conversation can’t be for real.
If the Huntress hatchet is not fully charged it is way easier, yes, but against a fully charged hatchet you still have more of a chance than trying it compared to dodging several knives. I never said it was easy though? So no clue where you got that from...
-
@Coffeecrashing said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3592074#Comment_3592074
If the survivor was 10m away, and in line of sight long enough for Trickster to land 8 knives, then Huntress could have easily landed 1 hatchet, and Deathslinger could have easily landed 1 harpoon shot.
Against Huntress you can actually try to dodge the thing, her fully charged hatchet only moves at 40 m/s... Same goes for slinger, it is one projectile that you can focus on dodging... so what exactly are you even trying to point out here? Besides the point that Huntress has a far longer windup and needs to charge her hatchet so she can even reach the max speed, because otherwise it is rather easy to dodge...

Do you understand that the knives have hitboxes that are so small, that at mid distance (or farther), Trickster can miss knives even if he’s literally keeping the survivor in the middle of his screen 100% of the time?
(Middle as in left/right, because the projectiles fall, so Trickster needs to aim higher than the middle of the screen at mid distance (or farther))
((Also, middle as in "he's aiming slightly to the right if the knife is being thrown from the left hand, and slightly to the left if the knife is being thrown from the right hand, because Trickster's knives aim for different parts of the screen, depending on which hand is throwing, and removing recoil doesn't change that, which means console players will still have aiming issues if they can't micro fix literally every other knife being thrown))
Ok so lets say survivors hitbox is lik 50-60 cm wide or whatever for the sake of the argument. The knives fly at like 55m/s, the survivor is let's say 10m ahead of you, so the knive arrives there after a little bit less of 0.2 seconds in 0.2 seconds you can move 80cm as survivor, so you can somewhat outmaneuver the middle of the your model so a knive doesn't hit you there. The point however is, if you only do micro dodges that are not at least 20-30 cm to each side then this won't do anything because the part of your hitbox is still at a point where it can be hit by the knives.
The thing is as survivor you don't really actively dodge, because the knives fly so fast and are so many that the only thing you are doing is making yourself harder to hit. But by doing those dodges to the side you are also slowing yourself down, like I said before if you only move a few centimeters to each side your hitbox is still where he aims, and those majors wiggles to each side slow you down. For this point it does not matter how small the knife hitbox is, if the hitbox of the survivor is still at the same point it will hit, who cares if you hit their pinky finger or the torso?

I dont know what kind of matches you are playing, but in your average games I just do not see how you will not get high stacks of the perk if you play correctly. I watched scott jund (a very good demo player) play with this perk and he would very often be hitting a mix of m1s and shreds and then be getting pretty high stacks.
Even the world's best survivor, if they are in a dead zone you guarantee an m1 and that is part of the skill of killer is creating dead zones to limit survivor's skill output.
But the shred ends the chase faster regardless, because you don't need to catch up so far, which makes it so even in a deadzone a medium/short range shred is still better than an m1.
I'm not saying the perk is the worst thing ever on demo, just that there are better perks to synergize with your power. Because oftentimes getting the m1 just takes a lot longer than just shredding.

I still don't see why it would be needed. It's like adding a notification that Ghostface is now in stealth. It's supposed to let him ambush survivors, if they got a notification then they would know he is coming and just hold W or run to a loop.
It is not about the stealth but about the 15 seconds of aura reading on every survivor in the game... If you don't know the killer has this up you might want to try mindgames but it would do absolutely nothing.

If you can't get within 16 meters of the hook without being spotted, you probably made a mistake. And even if you didn't, it's much more reasonable to expect one Survivor to lead the Killer away from the hook while another actually goes for the save, instead of having a Killer who can instantly dash straight to the hook and essentially cover every possible angle of approach. In the latter case, both Survivors have to go in at the exact same time, or they're dead.
Plenty of people made both of those arguments in defense of pre-nerf facecamping. They weren't good arguments then, they're not now.
Depending on if the hook is in the open or not...
Why would the killer get led away though? He wants to camp the guy on hook so why leave? Your point does not really make sense here. Do you think he is camping because he cannot find a chase and will then chase the first person that comes towards him? If you have clear line of side towards the hook you will only hit someone right next to you or go closer if someone tries to unhook... Or what exactly is worth it to chase someone when you are dedicated to camping the guy on hook?
-
@Monlyth said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3592001#Comment_3592001
Myers at least has to walk 16 meters before he can get you. But if the Survivor is hooked out in the open, then even if the Oni doesn't spot you before you get within 16 meters of the hook, he's so fast he can still down you before you get the unhook.
Aside from Bubba, you could still counter facecamping Killers by sending more than one Survivor to swarm the hook. Which is a level of coordination that tends to range from extremely difficult to impossible for solo Survivors, hence the complaints. So if your only suggestion is to send multiple Survivors, then once again, we're right back where we started, just with a different coat of paint.
So what? Myers can just enter without punishment as soon as the survivor runs in, you are not getting the unhook regardless... And for Oni it is once again about is power in general and not the feature itself...
I have pulled off duo saves quite a few times with Randoms in soloq, it is really not that hard, what makes it hard is players having no clue what they are doing, so it's a skill issue by definition.

I don't know.
I just know that there was someone who told the Devs how to do it.
Sure, but he had no obligation to do so and a company for sure does not pay out of kindness, so I would not expect it... And that's my whole point... There are probably plenty of people out there that are familiar with the engine and what not, if they wanted to do certain things they could hire someone, getting help from the community to fix your own game with experts working on it is kind of sad...

@Monlyth said:

Well then, let's read the developer update that introduced the anti-camping system:
"This new mechanic is intended to address the most egregious camping scenarios, discouraging Killers from standing too close to a hooked Survivor for an extended period and creating opportunities for the other Survivors to make the save."
And if we look at that last bit, it would seem we still have a problem. Other Survivors do not, in fact, have the opportunity to make the save in this scenario. And this isn't a case of the Survivors making a silly, obvious mistake like going for a save while injured, this is a no-win scenario for the Survivor, which requires sending multiple Survivors if they want to actually get the unhook, same as before.
Generally speaking it does that, you have more distance between killer and hook and can bodyblock the killer a bit to get the unhook... However if there is a t3 Myers or Oni in his power or whatever sitting next to the hook, how are you ever supposed to get the unhook? This has nothing to do with the camping itself but with the insta down power being active...
The feature creates opportunities, think of it this way 3 survivors come swarming in, two block the killer 1 unhook... This scenario is what the feature creates, because you cannot start of as close to the hook as killer anymore without getting punished by the feature.

Did you not read my first post? I just presented a scenario where getting an unhook was effectively impossible. I asked for a solution and you give me empty words.
A duo safe and not loop the killer around the hook... Perhaps one or two people will go down for it but you will get the safe...
-
@Monlyth said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3591974#Comment_3591974
I expect the actual problem to be solved? A Killer could be using their power to camp from the other side of the map, for all it matters. The actual problem with facecamping is that the Survivor can't get the unhook, not even a hook trade. Everything else is just aesthetics.
OK, but they never promised that did they? Against most killers a 1 for 1 with only a single survivor is possible fairly easy, on other you need to be more coordinated and do a duo safe... But you will get the unhook if you do it properly, unless you get a Bubba or a Trickster or sth like that that will just down everyone in the time you unhooked...
Stop calling it facecamping for clarity sake, because facecamping is gone. I think there is only a hand full of killers that can prevent the unhook...
-

Only on paper. In practice, people just found a different method to do the exact same thing. People didn't hate facecamping because the Killer was literally staring you in the face, they hated facecamping because you can't unhook against a facecamping Killer.
They already had the same method before, nothing changed... But yeah true, but behavior never intended to get rid of camping all together, and they achieved what they wanted to, face camping being gone, so how exactly could you expect more? They communicated perfectly well what they wanted to do and did it?

You could also reach out to them and explain what they can do to fix it. They also had someone from the community who helped them with the stretched res problem a few years ago.
There are also other things many people wish for (like a replay function), but the Devs said that it was "impossible to do at this state". Maybe you could help? I think many players would be very grateful😊
I mean would be nice, but can you really expect someone to provide their work expertise to a company he does not work for for free? It is not like BHVR are a new or small company they could have done all that...

What's the point of an anti-camp mechanic if you still can't actually get the save? Proxy camping I don't mind, provided it's still possible to get the save before you go down.
It is not an anti camp mechanic, as I stated before, all it is supposed to prevent is the killer standing right besides your hook. That's what facecamping is and that it prevents...
-
Hug tech is not even much of an issue, Lights will just use bump logic and get the hit regardless with like 2 more bounces... All hugtevh does is give another option that is not necessarily better more successful than bump logic.

In other words, there's no play I can make that will result in a successful unhook. The Oni can just charge in and instadown me as soon as he sees me going for the unhook. Sounds to me like that element of the anti-camp needs to be toned down at the very least.
It is anti face camp, not anti camp... Big difference.

It has pros and cons like many features.
In bdb there should be a mute button for specific players as well as an added category for report voice interactions (like harassment, threats etc and maybe even playing loud sounds). People who get reported for voice interactions a lot should be permanently muted and maybe should not even be able to hear others as punishment.
Stuff like that is the baseline of such a feature... Nobody in their right mind would have voice chat but no mute option or text chat but no mute option.

I can think that when the comp meta is pre-throwing pallets while your team holds M1.
Also all the 3rd person camera does is let Chucky have the FoV of a regular killer. It's not an advantage whatsover.
The 3rd person let's you stand next to a wall and look around it dude... It is a lot better than the normal killer fov in that sense...
That is a weird opinion... When they pre throw pallets then it is because you cannot win the pallet if you try to play it and that delays the killer most... Like I said if you or I were to go against those guys we would probably not even land an m1... (Which is what happened to the pinhead that trash talked them...)... You should think a bit more before you speak because these guys are really good it is just that both sides are, so they need to play it somewhat safe to give their team time to do gens, and trying to win 50 50s is really not the way you do that.

Trickster's knives are tiny hitboxes. You can micro dodge them at mid distance because the knives have a travel time.

If you are saying you need to do a specific thing to win because you have no other choice then yes... You would need to do bigger movements with random patterns considering his knives are (probably) the fastest projectile in the game.
no, that is bronze survivor play. you micro dodge until you get to LOS then your safe and just heal for free. the killer adjusting is the mindgame itself. there is no need to do anymore more than that. to be fair, micro play on survivor tends to not matter with slowish killers because gen speed is so oppressive that killer loses even when thyey are winning chases quickly. So 1vs1ing killer is often just blow out for efficient teams.
I still think he is buffed by a lot. He didn't need those changes, they totally overbuffed him.
I do not agree. just huge exaggeration. he had this exact exaggeration first time he was improved, so nothing new.
If you only move by a little bit to each side what exactly keeps the killer from aiming in the middle didn't move? You would still have a constant hotbox at the middle spot of the movements to the left an right...

You know what I'm over? Survivors blowing through all generators minutes from game start.
Downing as many as possible in a cyclical fashion with knockout in tandem with other gen slow is one of the only things an M1 killer can do to actually stop truly efficient survivors from erasing the generators faster than a fart in a hurricane. You can't do any more reckless damage to any of the slowdown perks until it's not possible (by default) to finish gens faster than unnatural #########.
That wraith was a socially weak jackass for rubbing it in your face, but that doesn't give you license to tear down a key component of the only tactic standing in the way of real "rush" squads exerting full-spectrum dominance in advanced gameplay.
Well actually a few streamer did a challenge to play m1 only with no killer power and they average on about 80-90+ % killrate, so yeah... I don't think so buddy. As far as I remember they even had it in the challenge to not slug or tunnel or camp or anything, however I could be wrong on this one, not sure.

No offense but they actually did not. Otz conveniently picked the only matches where Chucky did well.
I just checked the video Hens made about it, and he has 6 Matches in it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1Wm9xeqrhAThe first match was 7 hooks 2 kills, the second match was a 4 k at two gens, the third match was 10 hooks and a 3 k, then we have 4 stages and a 1k, 5th is a 2 k with six stages and the last match was again a 4k at 2 gens. On average that is 7.333 hook stages per match, which is pretty good. 2.66 kills on average. So I'm not taking the time to watch through the matches Otz selected as well, but in conclusion I would say that he has potential to be one of the best killers in the game. However you really cannot expect him to totally steam roll comp teams, because why even? Not even Nurse can do that every game.
Hens summoned it up as: "He can definitly give top tier survivors a rough time." And I don't think there are many killers in the game on which you could say that.

So on that regard I watched several different content creators and their opinion about it, what stuck most in my mind was Knightlight stating that Chucky might be the 4th or 5th best killer in the game, even in front of Wesker. I think I heard something similar of ScottJund and Hens but I'm not as sure on that part..
Even if he did that and you are right... Tell me which bad killer can perform well against a comp team?

not really. not with those changes. more of side-grade. trickster is not that good. he needed those changes from PTB.
If you loop someone on a tile where you cannot get a single knife in every 10 seconds then you seriously need to drop chase... It should be possible failry easily to not suffer from that.
in PTB, knives were constant decaying. I dislike how the balance is being based off PTB survivors. PTB survivor are not good. Tru3 tried trickster match on Eyrie of crows and it was 3 man escape. I do not know how much worse he is but if your 3 man escaping ptb trickster and he is getting nerfed. you can only imagine that he will be even easier on live.
survivors loose a huge amount of distance with that wiggling motion and it doesnt even matter because even if you dodge two or three there are 41 more coming so who cares.
your not losing any distance at all. these are not hatchets. His knives are like tiny hitbox knives. there is almost no strafing. it is almost running forward and moving 1 cm to right and 1 cm to left. they are tiniest micro strafes ever. nothing more, nothing less.

I agree in regard to iri card is useless now. Their battery included perk makes no sense either. it gives you 5% haste when gens are done but doesn't work in end game when that is only part of the game that the perk works?
I still think he is buffed by a lot. He didn't need those changes, they totally overbuffed him.
As if all those guys only played it against PTB survivors and wanted to wait that long instead of just getting in their friends with similar hours to see how it played out...
If you only do a small wiggle every knife, how stupid do you think the killer player is to not adjust to that? You would need to do bigger movements with random patterns considering his knives are (probably) the fastest projectile in the game.

The movement speed buff will help him get more M1 attacks, which will help in situations where using the M2 isn't practical.
But this whole idea of idea of Trickster using the movement speed buff to get extra single knife hits, isn't good. If Trickster is in a situation where he can only get a knife hit every once in a while, then he's better off just going for an M1 attack. So yes, it's a buff in the sense that Trickster could end chases faster, but it means using his M2 power less often, which doesn't fit the "We want Trickster to have a rapid fire playstyle" goal that BHVR had with Trickster's rework.

You honestly think people are going to have 100% accuracy if Trickster has 0 recoil, and the survivor isn't in close range? Is that comment for real?
No clue how you got that conclusion... That statement was literally what the devs said in the dev update, if you don't hit the knife it is on you... You cannot blame recoil any longer. The point is that bigger dodging movements will only slow you down and you would need to do so many that it is basically pointless you will go down when you are in the open even at some distance.

It probably offsets it partially but definitely not enough to make up for the fact that a) it takes a full 50% longer for him to close a given distance on a survivor than a 115 killer, and b) you can see him through walls.
Considering his smaller size makes him harder to see and the footsteps are not enough to counteract that he is still way better off than your basic 115% m/s killer. Just look at the showcase Otzdarva and Hens did with Cucky against a comp team, he did fairly well, despite only being 110% m/s.
Also seeing the footsteps is not equal to seeing him... It can still throw you off.

People were acting like PTB main event was some overpowered thing that needed to be severely limited, but it wasn't, because Trickster's normal PTB throw rate was so high. Main event on live is a huge thing, because there's a long ramp up with the throw rate. Yes, PTB main event was still a faster throw rate, but it was mostly there for the unlimited ammo.
If Trickster is on a tile where the faster movement speed would be meaningful, then he'd only be getting a knife here or there, and would be fighting the boosted laceration decay.
Recoil being gone is only meaningful if people were trying to rapid fire. If the survivor wasn't super close, then I was either mostly doing the maxed non-recoil fire rate, or I would do short bursts of 2 knives, because the recoil doesn't kick in until the 2nd knife. Trickster could also do bursts of 3 or 4 knives with minimal recoil. Trying to rapid fire knives against a survivor that's not close, is still going to be not very accurate (even with zero recoil) if the survivor is doing wiggle movements... and rapid fire at that range was mostly only doable with main events.
I think people are severely overestimating how accurate people are going to be with rapid fire knives, when the survivor isn't close. The knives have travel time, and even if Trickster perfectly follows the survivor, he can still miss knives if the survivor isn't close.
But if the throw modifier is the same, then there is no change? Also the thing was overpowered, 6 knives or even 3 with addons is way too little I find even 8 too little since you can get it basically every chase.
If you loop someone on a tile where you cannot get a single knife in every 10 seconds then you seriously need to drop chase... It should be possible failry easily to not suffer from that.
People experienced all that on the PTB and as far as I know most content creators agreed that it was a massive buff and even too much. If you don't hit all of your knives without the recoil then that is completely on you, also survivors loose a huge amount of distance with that wiggling motion and it doesnt even matter because even if you dodge two or three there are 41 more coming so who cares.
Recoil being gone is also affecting main event right? the thing you basically have every chase now?
