I'd want it to automatically put all the sweatlords into the comp queue so I can just exist in casual for the vibes
And what prevents people from sweating in casual? And how that system manage it to automatically do that? It would just be seperat queues with different rules/limitations. I don't see how it could potentially sort people... The system cannot even manage to determine skill aside from escape or sacrifice, how would it be able to determine a sweaty playstyle? Something that is entirely dependant on the definition of what is sweaty...

The only thing that should be removed is the "emote" exploit (inb4 they call it a """tech""")
That thing has been in the game forever now, I don't think we can call that an exploit, if the devs considered it one they would have said something by now or even addressed it...
-
I don't see much of an issue here, that is 2 people not doing gens, chase another person and now 3 people are busy, they cannot all be close to pallets... Unless you want to get rid of pallet saves I don't know what to even change here.
-
The 1v1 mode would need less eng on maps, even on a singular map the rng is too much, so I guess the tile spawn would need more rulations, so you get the map always in the same strenght... Not necessarily exactly the same map everytime, but at least the same strenght.

WHy does the killer being on a different floor just completely negate the anti camp feature despite the fact that camping from a different floor can in some cases make unhooking a complete impossibility? (Looking at you Myers' and Tompson house).
I understand that the anti camp feature was implemented as a way to negate face camping, not camping in general, but evenface camping didn't completely prevent the unhook from happening.
I understand it in 2 floor maps, the issue is stuff like basement, because you just cannot go down there when the killer stands on top... Im sure there is a way to work around it though.

I've played Vecna more and it's become more obvious that while crouching at a short distance is viable at loops to avoid making him a gigazoner (unfortunately), I would like one change:
Make Flight of the Damned uncrouchable after 12-14m to allow for long ranged snipes. It'd make the power more fun to use for snipes and reward environmental awareness for survivors who listen for the audio cues and react appropriately.
I realized earlier when I said making the uncrouchable all the time would break Vecna's balance, since the skeletons move very fast. From Vecna's perspective, they don't seem to move as fast, but it's deceiving. From the Survivor's perspective, it's more obvious.I don't think this will help you much, given how much they spread after that distance... I would assume you don't even need to crouch and can just side step it, but in general optimization for the skill is a good idea.

Maybe a comp mode could let you see your mmr. You can challenge someone and your mmr increases or decreases after the duel.
I mean if it didn't what would even be the purpose of such a mode?
-
@HerInfernalMajesty said:
If a comp mode were to exist how would you want it to be? Highest mmr with and against highest mmr? Instead of putting one expert, two intermediate, and one novice on a team?
Perk bans? No limits? What would a comp mode look like to you?
One comp mode would need to be 1v1 with limitations on killers perks and maps.
I guess a real 1v4 comp mode would need a bunch of perk, addon, map and item limitations. Also be dependant on the killer.

There isn't a legal 'obligation to act'/'duty to act' everywhere (or some are limited to only if you are responsible/involved eg. auto accident as one of the parties in the accident), even if I do think it is a good standard to prevent the bystander effect.
(Also IIRC the old engine [UE4] had a replay feature built in, it just was never implemented into DBD. UE5 still has replay functionality, and we can only hope they eventually implement it.)
Maybe not in every country, but in certain countries you need to call the ambulance or do first aid when an accident happened and it is risk free for you to help. It is however not limited to you causing it or being involved in it, it is enough that you are close by/witness it/happen to come by later.
Hm…interesting, they always said they would have needed to implement it in the beginning and later on is not possible.

The 3% Is just worse soma family photo which felt almost mandatory to run so in that aspect he's actually going to be worse, it's just to allow you to run other add-ons. The auto aim is to help people who play with a controller or on console it does nothing for regular PC Singularity's, I don't know why we're against the idea of making killers more accessable.
I would just like the option to turn the auto aim feature off, I don't know why behavior does not include more user settings to adjust...

You said the community is not mature enough, not that one person... How would you just the maturity of that many people?
Well fully depends on how many games someone plays and if you already block people for being bad at the game or only reportable stuff or cheats...

Again hes not hard. Spamming biopods and know survivors location 24/7 is not something you need skill for. And for lazy people he has teleport right on survivors.
He is one of the most demanding killers in the game, it seems to me that you just have no clue what you are talking about…

- On some maps hes not stronger but indeed worse to play against than nurse
- 3% haste as base kit and auto aim on biopods is a huge buff for already strong killer
He is quite dependant on Family Photo, so making it partially basekit is a good move, he is not worse to play agains than nurse… He just like nurse suffers on indoor maps and sure he is strong in holding 3 gens, but the current anti 3 gen solution makes this not as strong anymore..
He is one of the hardest killersi n the game, those changes are meant to make him less addon depedant and more accessable for players…

It depends on what to compare it with. If it means leave him as he is, s-tier killer with no counterplay and best ability to hold 3 gen (even than knight or skull merchant). My idea would probably be better.
He is low A, high B tier at best without those buffs and with them maybe mid A tier at best, you exaggerating by a large amount… Sure turning him into an absolutely useless killer with no power is surely better than him getting a bit of quality of life dude.

This change only punish players who place biopods in the most obvious spot and very close to each other (which i say it could be problem on small maps). This change only does not allowed Singularity brainlessly spam biopods and also make him work for 4k kills. He is already have enough biopods as base kit. And slipstream already one of the best chase mechanic he has (not many killers has even close to this), so it only being a nerf to his insane map pressure and gen defense and doesnt touch his chase potential
He has what 8 or so? So 8 emps and he does not have a power for the rest of the game anymore? Also how would you ever hide those things… No dude, the idea is terrible and the reasons don't work.
-
@Xernoton said:
Most of these are quality of life changes. The most considerable buffs are the 3 seconds extra it takes to retrieve an EMP and the 3% haste after a teleport, which also came at the cost of increased overclock duration for each survivor slipstreamed and survivors also get a bit more information on Singularity's power. So claiming that Singularity will be unbearable to play against is a bit overdramatic.
Singularity is in no way strong enough to warrant a downside like you proposed. That is ridiculous. You set a biopod in chase, the survivor uses and EMP and now you're down to 9. All while the rest of the team can do the same to every biopod you have on the map so you have to use them spontaneously, which removes your 1v4 completely and also means, that after every chase, you need to destroy the biopods you set or someone else will. Even then, you'd get to use your power 9 times only before you run out.
That would place him pretty close to Freddy in a tier list and that is never a good sign.
I would even say that would make him the worst killer in the game…
-
@Backmon said:
After patch 8.1.0 moves to the main game, the Singularity - already strong killer will receive huge buffs that no one asked for. Of course, in this state, he will be unbearable to play against. Therefore, for balance he needs to be weakened, in particular, the ability to control the map. And the best way for this is make his biopods limited, if survivors destroy it with EMP that means it gone forever. That means if survivor destroy all his biopods he became powerless m1 killer. This change fix 2 problems, make Singularity bearable to go against and give survivor huge reward for counter killer power
That has to be the most overkill move ever xD If you have any other remotely reasonable idea go for it, but this has to be the worst idea I have ever heard…

I know my neighbor's house is burning, but I have no reason to help them flee, ring the doorbell, or call the fire department. It isn't a matter of doing it because you feel like you should, it is a matter of doing it because you know it is right. At the same time, I can understand being so burdened by the rest of life's obligations, that one more thing is enough to be the straw that breaks the camel's back. I especially understand the difficulty of recording in response to cheating, and having to force them to cheat in front of you again for the report, then having to log in and change your password through the email because the time since it was last changed was too long, then having to fill out the form (or be annoyed by the AI chatbot which is less efficient), then looking up your steam ID, then finally being able to submit the report on them.
I 100% agree we should have replays though, as they are the best way to learn strategies/perks/hiding spots, find cheaters, and show off cool moments.
That has to be the weirdest comparison ever. You have a legal obligation to call the fire department in that case, same as when you witness a traffic accident with noone being around or seeing a person suffer a heart attack. You are obliged to call the ambulance or whoever is appropriate. And I don't know how it is morally right to waste my time in doing things that most likely will not result in anything… It is already hard to reason that a moral obligation is there to report bugs, perhaps for cheaters in consecutive and extreme cases but surely not for bugs.
Agreed, like I said it is just too much work, and I don't care enough about it to go through that. If the devs want my help in such things they should at least make the report system more convenient.
Indeed, lets hope the new engine allows for that, otherwise they might as well just re write the whole game in an engine that allows it, considering how bad spaghetti code tends to be.

I agree with a full communication block. But I disagree when it comes to any form of Matchmaking. The DBD-Community is not mature enough to handle this kind of power.
Well who are we to judge that? The game is 18+ and I don't think we have a right to judge the maturity of adults…
I don't think it is much of an issue of you block other survivor players tbh, I don't think you get the same ones too often anyway, so I don't really see much harm there.

Do you enjoy playing against 4 Bot ? if yes go custom
The hatch is part of the game since the begining, i dont talk about mmr i talk about some hope in game.
Hatch now can be close, now you have timer when hatch is close for killer.
If hatch is an issue for you, put Offerings for hatch and camp it.Who cares if it is part of the game since the beginning? It is still a stupid mechanic that rewards people for getting lucky.
As for the hope part, why should you get that? You should put your entire focus on winning by doing the gens and escaping, that should be your goal, which is why I think mmr should get affected as a team and not for every single player by themselves, so the goal of people is to make your team succeed, whereas hatch just promotes playing in an egoistic way, possibly even sacrificing your mates to get out. I don't really think that is that much of a hot take.
Sure hatch can be closed? So what? I explained why the current system is an issue and you just state the obvious?
"If you don't like mechanic X, instead of giving a reasonable idea to change it just use x and hope the survivor is not also camping the location and still manages to get in first." Well if that is your approach then I don't really understand why you are even debating stuff?

thats not a good idea.
In soloq if you think your mates are bad you still have the hatch.
If you think it's lost in advance we'll just have more suicides/leavesAnd why exactly is that an issue? Hatch does not count for mmr anyway? The match is probably over at that point and then they can just give up and get a more enjoyable game instead, I don't see any downside there.

You know that blocking players does not remove the chance of them being in your game?
I guess he means on steam? Or does dbd even have a list of blocked players? I do however think the block feature should have some impact, like at least blocking what that person says in post game chat, perhas even reducing the likeliness of being matched with that person (only when blocking a survivor playing with them as survivor…)
-
They should just remove hatch and be done with it, no more weird hatch standoffs no more looking around the map for ages, no survivor waiting at the gate for you to close hatch, because you won't make it in time there to stop them anyway. I would like the game to put more focus on winning or losing as a team instead of this lone wolf garbage.

They added a check where if player camera is faces down → disable blight ability to active ability. that is how they killed his hug tech. It is still in the game. just… disabled.

Yeah it should be on the devs to fix the game, but if we want improvements shouldn't we at least take to effort to help them? Yeah replays would fix the vast majority of this 'barrier to entry' for reporting bugs and cheaters, but that doesn't mean I go 'ah fudge it, I'll let that cheater ruin my game without reporting them'.
Censoring names even in paint isn't difficult, here's a less than 1 minute 3 step guide.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/SUFTQKWULTPY/fillbox.png
Super easy! Hopefully you feel empowered enough to help others (the devs through reports), in order to help yourself (to fix bugs or report cheaters and make the game better)!
As far as the final paragraph is concerned, I was speaking of the people clearly using Bleedouts to BM, rather than simply being unable to hook. They seem to be the vast majority of people complaining about lack of hooks with how plentiful hooks have been in my Survivor/SWF/Killer matches. If the Survivor runs back into a corner after they wiggled free, I'm not complaining about them being bledout. The issue is if we are making hook changes to fix the bleedout issue, we should give Survivors a Kobe mechanic to bleedout quicker as well, in order to prevent bleedout time wasting to affect everyone. Bleedout BM is the far more common scenario that is happening in my experience, so it should be prioritized, or at the bare minimum simultaneously addressed.
Not really, it is their game and their job to fix it the players should not the be the Guinea pig when they for some reason break vault distances for female survivors for the 5th time, most bugs get reported several times anyway and worst case someone makes a video about it or a content creator shines light on the issue, if you want to help them sure go for it. But I am surely not making extra steps to help them when they for whatevee reason resist to give the game basic functionality that has been the standard in video games for over a decade now.
I have never had a situation where I felt like a cheater ruined my game, I don't get bothered by them no matter what happens. In case I get one I just go afk, I am not playing matches with cheaters and instead do something else.
I know it is easy, but I should not be required to do any extra steps... I should have a report window explain what and when it happens and that is it... Maybe give the time in the replay, but I m not going out of my way to use anything external or open a ticket on their side to do something as simple as reporting a cheater, it is ridiculous that this is or at least was how this game does these things and I don't think this is acceptable at all, I am not participating in stuff like that unless they at least offer the bare minimum.
I don't know man ^^ Just because the devs know a bug exists does not mean they fix it, Nurse fov and fatigue have been bugged for 8 months or so now... And it still did not get fixed as far as I know... Where is even the point of reporting stuff ^^ At some point they removed anti aliasing on accident and it took them 3 years to being it back... I have no trust in them fixing stuff that they clearly know about. And if I don't have the faith that they will actually fix stuff I take the time to report then I am just wasting my time.
Sure, a concede button or bleed out give up or whatever would be great, how exactly it works is ofc up for debate, but I they should implement it in some way.

I don't know what the first paragraph has to do with me, I don't care lol. I was just clarifying to someone else why some other people use 'exploit' to describe some things. I think this part is directed at someone else.
As for the second paragraph, you are repeating a half truth with missing context. There was a video where he said 'blah blah blah was intended', then in a follow-up video he was given the full information and said the equivalent of 'oh yeah it wasn't supposed to work that way'. So ultimately with full context he said it was not functioning correctly.
Blight had a waist height camera on release, and there was a check tied to both the camera and the waist. (See rough picture)
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/5SQ4A3QWY3H3/blightside.jpg
Since these were the same in the old, the checks all worked correctly. When they 'fixed' his camera, they broke his bump mechanics, and introduced bugtech. I am 100% ok with returning bugtech as long as we also get the waist high camera, because then everything is actually working correctly.
How would it be working correctly given his pov would be from his belly? Didn't they basically immediately say that his pov was broken when he was released?

You'd screenshot it to report it as a bug here on the forums to get it fixed. They found some hook bugs from such reports and fixed them because of those reports. Same with the gen location. With the picture proof (along with the logs for the Devs) they are able to see, analyze, and fix the problem.
You could also screenshot it to show to your friends (or fellow forum participants) a "look at this bull schenanigans" type of thing. I've done hard recordings of cheaters, but still shared it with my friends afterward to be like "did you know this type of cheat exists?", and we have a laugh together.
What I am saying is that the argument of "I had no choice but to bleed someone out guys, honest" is more often a lie than not. Someone wiggles out en-route to hook and runs back to the corner, feel free to bleed them out, but that isn't the vast majority of actual cases.
I'm certainly not doing that… This game does not even offer a replay mode so I can check myself whether or not someone was cheating, I am therefore certainly not wasting my time on such a bug ridden mess like this game… If it was more convenient I might do that, but as it is nah.
Ok, for what? Like everyone knows the game is full of bugs cheaters and dumb stuff, why should I care to show people what they already saw a thousand times? Besides the point where I would need to censor all that stuff so people don't witch hunt the cheaters, or whatever reason there is for that rule. Seems too much effort for literally nothing as a reward.
I mean generally speaking since bleeding someone out is a legitimate way to kill a survivor I don't think I need much of a reason to bleed someone out? But usually you can judge fairly easily whether you make it to a hook or not, so I don't need to pick them up and let them wiggle to know whether or not I make it. My point was more like if the guys has to stay on the floor for that long until I can hook them on a hook that will only despawn for half the match again I might as well bleed them out as that is just faster.

That essentially was my point. 'Crouch tech' is intended, unless they come out and say it is a bug like they did with bugtech. People can still call it an exploit, because people might reasonably expect crouching to not magically make you immune to damage from an attack that doesn't have visible verticality (like Vecna's Skeles or another ranged attack), although that doesn't make it truly an exploit.
Unknown's Grenade Launcher is a similar 'probably shouldn't work that way, but they didn't say otherwise' tier of 'exploit' that crouch tech is, or Knight guards seeing Survivors through walls (when technically there was a sliver of a crack in the wall so they technically 'saw' you). All have the argument of 'maybe it shouldn't be that way', but all are currently legit.
Ok but then why not decide on whether or not to keep such things and not make it fully dependant on if the devs initailly wanted it? Considering that is usually the case when a unintended feature works well? Like curves on Billy or looping?
Also saying hug tech is was not intended is kind of a lie, considering Mclean literally made people aware of this being a thing… On of the guys who created Blight so at that point it was certainly an intended mechanic, they just later decided otherwise for what ever reason.

Hmm, yeah your right. I think maybe he shouldn't be able to go from Tier 3 to Tier 2. Perhaps it's better to just allow Tier 2 to Tier 1.
As for the Tier 4, i don't think it's necessarly busted because similarly to Tombstone it has counterplay (lockers), and survivors would see their stalk progress, so they would know exactly when to enter a locker. Keep in mind he could only mori survivors veery close to him (not in lunge distance), just like regular tombstone.I mean, even if it is not busted, is it fun to play against? When you just jump in a locker? I don't think that mechanic adds anything fun or interesting to the gameplay.

There 100% should not be respawning pallets. However, killers should also have to strategize how they manage their hooks when hooking deathhook survivors. To have basically no consequences other than a short 60 wait diminishes the gameplay interactions between the 2 sides and rewards poor gameplay on the killers part. Hook respawning can exist as a mechanic but it needs to be balanced and reward good decision making and not interrupt the games mechanics.
By having hook breaking, the killer has to be wary of how they use their hooks, just like survivors have to be wary of which gens they finish to avoid a 3 gen. Due to the importance of hook management, a tunneling killer will sometimes have to take a survivor further before hooking than normal to avoid making a deadzone. This gives survivors extra time and opportunity to make altruistic saves. Simply put, making hooks respawns actually is a buff to tunneling in a roundabout way. A tunneling killer can now just always use the closest hook for any deathhook survivor and get back into chase faster as a result.
Furthermore we all know that once a survivor is out of the game, the game gets much much easier for the killer role. By have respawning hooks, this makes the 3v1 or 2v1 even harder for survivors. Forcing the killer to walk father and waste more time if they did not use good hook management was a way for survivors to punish bad hook management.
While it is true that on some maps survivors can force a deadzone, this is a issue of map design which should be addressed in other ways. Good killers who have proper hook management and will avoid having hook deadzones 99% of the time. Bad killers who don't perform proper hook management should not be excessively rewarded for refusing to improve.
TLDR:
Hook respawns are just not needed for most cases, and the cases that require it could be solved by better map design. Hook respawning is a bandaid feature to fix poor map design and hook RNG. 60 seconds is way too short for to properly reward or punish hook management and removes strategic gameplay and decision making from both sides. 120 seconds or 180 seconds would be much more reasonable as it would avoid hook deadzones given enough time, while still allowing for hooks to be strategically relevant. This game needs more strategic play and interaction not less.Ofc this whole thing is a band aid fix, but fixing map design would be a lot more work, so I can understand why they go this way, respawning hooks are not an issue though. If the respawn time is too long and I am in a situation where I cannot hook someone I basically have to bleed them out.

This isnt really to complain about the recent blight "nerf". I have played blight for 2-3 years now and recently I came back to the game without even knowing that Blight gotta nerf. This nerf was not just the addons, but the collision, removing a lot of the sliding in the game.
While the sliding was definitely annoying, the sliding could be played around and could be fixed. This new patch where anything you touch has colission is absurd. Im turning and I stop, without even knowing what I hit 70% of the time.
I think Behavior should revert or tweak this patch because it hasn't just nerfed blight, it really just made him a bit more annoying to play considering the playerbase has been SO used to the collision for ALL these years!
It dumbed him down quite a lot, you don't need to learn collision anymore because you just bump anyway... And considering how often the hitboxes of objects don't match with their visuals it is quite bad...

I mean in the same sense that Billy is 'exploiting' his movement speed to traverse the map. That is working as intended, but most people would clearly not call using something as intended as that an exploit. You can 'exploit' the crow start location as Artist to send the crow up stairs. That's why it is a yes and no. Some people may argue crows shouldn't 'climb', or the power hitboxes should be fully vertical, but that isn't currently how they are designed.
Should there not be some sort of a benefit of the doubt in the sense of we can assume a mechanic is intended as long as we don't have proof of the opposite? Because otherwise we would need to assume that every feature we did not know about was not intended but result of someone messing up the coding...
That would otherwise become quite problematic... For example unknown, how do we know that hitting people through walls is intended? It might just be an exploit that everybody is using right?

I mean every time I see someone claim this, they seem to magically fail to have any pictures to prove that claim (which, if they were winning that easily that they had only 1 person remaining, and needed to bleedout, they had all the time to pickup, look from the corner, hit the screenshot hotkey, then drop safely). The picture that one person posted showed 2 people dead, and they could still reach either the hook above them (or basement below to their right if they rolled the 50-50 on Midwich), or the middle hook from where they downed the 3rd.
I was just downed in a match hours ago as the final person where most people died in the corner with the exit gate, and the Killer still managed to reach the central hook from within the the gates (I barely opened it, but got downed about at the middle pillars).
When I saw BS gen placements I took pictures, and in one case it was egregious enough for me to report. So I'm gunna have to doubt you without a picture to prove it, otherwise my claim is equally trustworthy as a 'trust me bro that never happens'.
I'm not randomly screenshotting all the bs that happens in dbd, otherwise I would have hundreds of picture ranging from glitches, graphic, errors, hackers, hooks that cannot be accessed, two hooks on coldwind 3 m apart form each other to no hooks in 30 m area at all... Why would I even screenshot something like that? Just because maybe eventually someone on the forums wants proof of it?
The difference between it does and it does not is just that "it does not happen" is not something you can proof. The exit gate example is great, I cannot count how many games I had where I downed two or three people close to the gate and barely managed to hook one or two because there were not enough hooks around.
That's fine if you don't believe that, I don't really care about that anyway ^^

Killer have languish touch now, a perk that exhausts survivors in chase and mindbreaker still exists. it might not be as bad now.
It requires killers to run a below average perk... Mft does not become less problematic just because perks exist you could run... The same reason why basekit BT was needed because tunneling off of hook was not less problematic because BT existed... (ofc in that case it was a bit more extreme...).

A lot of survivor perks are getting reverted, maybe there is hope for that perk to get reverted.
Hopefully not, Mft was horrible... I'm sure there is an option to make it more useful than currently but permanent 3 % for being injured is not a good idea.

Alternate exhaustion's perks? "Made for this" cough cough.
In general, considering exhaustion perks are basically one of the strongest type of perks in the game. There are exceptions to almost every rule...

The counterplay in question was winning a 5050, not very fun for the survivor
There is even less you can do against bump logic in many cases, is this more fun?

Something that was never intended, Hug Tech was never intended, even Mandy stated that.
No techs should exist, no hug tech, no crouch touch, etc. All of them are exploits, "techs" shouldn't exist.
So looping and curving on Hillbilly should also be removed? Because they were not intended as well? And should we not judge the feature by what it is instead of if it was intended to decider whether we want to keep it or not?

First off, it would be better off at 240s (to match the 4 to 1 ratio of 60s hook respawn), and arguably they could even be Fragile Pallets (I would have 240s and respawn the oldest pallet, or a 240s CD on each pallet after break to respawn as a fragile pallet). Overall though, it would be equally bad and we shouldn't engage in two wrongs hoping to make a right. Secondly, while the hook respawn is a bad change, it most likely will provide more value to the baby/average bottom 75% than it takes away from the top 25% macro skill. Third, not every change needs an equal opposite side change, because if kill rates are too high, obviously Killer (as a whole or a specific one) would need to be nerfed alone. Fourth, slugging complaints are valid, if there is no Kobe equivalent for slugging, then bleedouts should now be punishable if you provide a certain bar of evidence that you could have been hooked (eg. any afk crows under a hook ending in a bleedout).

If the Survs all are doing that, then they aren't progressing the gens faster than they are running out of pallets. Also if there is a hook deadzone, that means there is/are only 1/2 Survivors left, because 1 dead hook isn't enough to create a hook deadzone, even on Midwich.
Bold assumption, I had dozens of games where there was only 1 hook around and after it was gone everyone died in the same corner and was therfore bled out there... Hook rng can be really bad... And mideich is even worse because sometimes it spawns hooks that are blocked by random clutter, so you cannot even use them.

No exploit should become an actual feature, hug-tech was miserable to verse if the Blight was good with it, it's better off gone for the sake of things, Blight is already a strong killer if used well, hug-tech made average Blight players a pro just by sliding off the walls, it should've never existed in the first place.
Actually learn how to play him this time, instead of wanting that busted exploit back, it can stay gone.
How do you define exploit?
