How yall feeling about dbd giving feng yet again abother outfit when shes getting 3 more int the near future? Guess they are giving feng the netease treatment when its all about her and not the others. Gotta make money somehow tho

Is Feng popular because she gets so many great skins, or does she get so many great skins because she's popular? Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

Meanwhile, nobody plays Haddie... why? Cause most of her outfits are boring. Like BHVR needs to take a risk and give Haddie some really good outfits, I know for one I would buy them and maybe start playing her more.

Also.. FIX THE BEST SKIN SHE ALREADY HAS PLEASE!

Overwatch is known for having a very paranoid stance against toxicity and an automated report system that is pretty abusable, I've played the game for 6 years so I guess it was just an instance of bad luck where a series of angry people decided to report me all at the same time. But all things considered it's still much better than DBD has now. The ban had virtually 0 consequence, it only prevented me from using the in-game chat, I could still play the game, and it only lasted a week.

I used to think it was a horrible and paranoid system until I played DBD. Both games are hard to compare but Overwatch has felt less and less toxic over time, while DBD feels more and more, to the point where it is overwhelming now.

Still, no matter what kind of ban, if they don't have a system in place to be sure that you actually did what the person accused you of, it's way too easily abused as Overwatch shows.

Was it said in a patchnote?

Afterwards I will still leave because they were purchasable throughout the year 2022 from January to December, every time it's a bug for some skins

Yes, it was in annoucements constatly througout the Winter Holidays. They are going forward making holiday themed cosmetics only available through that holiday (if you buy them you can wear them any time.) Now, some of their choices I find a bit questionable, but there it is. So as this Huntress outfit is deemed a Winter cosmetic, its been removed until Winter 2023 when it will return.

As much as I dislike solutions like this, I noticed that experimentally it's better when a game fights too much against toxicity (like Overwatch, which uses a very abusable automated report system and now even has a ridiculous AI to parse voice chat) - rather than when it does too little against toxicity, like DBD does right now. And I say this as someone who has been silenced a few times in Overwatch likely due to unjustified reports (I was banned from using chat 1 week even though I never used chat nor voice chat lol). Due to this you're sometimes in fear of being reported for nothing, but at least you don't meet toxic players that often and overall I'd say Overwatch still feels far much healthier to play.

In Overwatch, you can meet toxic players but it barely has any effect on the gameplay itself, the game is still pretty fun.

While in DBD, playing against a toxic player will drastically change the way the match is played and most of the time will be a miserable experience that just makes you regret playing.

My preference would be for BHVR to limit the toxic playstyles through gameplay changes (prevent facecamping, slugging) and have the same stance against toxicity/griefing like they have for DCs: they don't realistically ban anybody for it, but they explicitly say that they don't like it, and that it's bannable if done repeatedly.

    Something like this:

"Playing a match with the deliberate intent of griefing, annoying or wasting other players' time rather than progressing one's own objectives, is a banneable offence. This includes facecamping/slugging when this tactic is done repeatedly over multiple games regardless of the situation. This does not include cases where a player uses "annoying" game mechanics in order to get a genuine advantage, which is fair and not banneable."

If you have never used chat and you got banned for a week, then I'd say that's VERY concerning to me. The fact that you can get a ban when you did nothing wrong? I'd much rather have toxic behavior that I can ignore than have even a chance that someone who didn't deserve a ban got one (not just because that undeserved ban could be put on me.)

The thing is, other games have shown that when you let people vote against playing with someone in future, or have any sort of reputation, 'good player playing a character/playstyle I dislike' winds up being the person worst off.

Yes, even Mandy has said this is why they don't allow you to block players. You don't like Nurse? Block every Nurse player. Don't like "mending simulator gameplay" block every Legion player. That ruins matchmaking.

  • Funny thing is, just last night I was in a streamer's chat and this guy was getting super-damn angry at her for saying that she wouldn't believe Bubba was leaving, and he was adamant and getting insulting even (normally she'd ban him, but it was just so.. surreal that she didn't for awhile) that [Redacted] said it was 100% confirmed and so anyone that doesn't believe it is a fool.

    Who's the fool now, man?

  • Yea, Haddie is in such a catch-22. They don't give her new outfits cause nobody plays her, nobody plays her cause she doesn't have many good outfits.

remember, i'm not talking about hundreds of comments, i'm talking about hundreds of pages with comments. there are usually 6 comments per page. the most hated person i have played against had more than 200 pages of -rep from dbd with only 1500 hours.

banning these people because of steam comments is surely not a valid way of dealing with these people but something has to change. bhvr has already asked the players in several surveys what such a reputation system could look like. So they seem to be aware of the problem which is produced by a minority.

also my post wasn't about showing solutions, I just wrote together what annoys me.

The problem with any reputation system is that unless it's purely positive, it can be abused. You tunneled me! Reported! Like one game I play has a commendations system. When you play games, you get Goodwill. Playing games at 100% Goodwill gets you points. You can also get more points if the players you played with give you points in one of 4 categories, Friendly, Teamwork, Guide, and I forget the fourth. As you get more points over the course of the month, you get in-game items that normally cost money. Then if you remain unbanned for the entire year, you get an exclusive limited item. Now, the way you lose goodwill is being reported and if a report is made, then the game is saved and they are able to go look at what happened, determine if you actually did wrong.

But, if the goodwill system was just you get reported and you lose goodwill, well then I'm pretty sure I get reported for not being good at the game at least once a week, if the people cussing me out in chat is any indication. However, I've yet to actually lose any goodwill, however a few days after reporting a particularly hostile person, I will get a message "An action has been taken against a player you reported."

The fact that it's one click to delete -reps shows that these players DELIBERATELY decide to keep them, or that they don't care about them. And yes we all know that being an a**hole is not reportable in the current state of the game that's precisely what I'm saying and why OP made the topic.

The fact you have so many players who behave like this and expose HUNDREDS of -reps like they are some sort of trophies should be a good indication of the insane state of toxicity right now. Some of them are streaming with 500+ viewers.

These players are actively making the casual playerbase flee whether they are using "valid strategies" or not. You're treating DBD like it is a competitive game which it's not for 99% of the players. Enjoy your game full of valid strategies when you'll be the only one left playing it.

Right, but what then does the OP want to happen? It seems they want BHVR to start banning those players.

  • @Saiph said:

I wish the matchmaking would place these a**holes with 10+ pages of -reps in the same lobbies together. Maybe from time to time also put in there those who defend them, if they really believe that those are just regular players then they will likely enjoy playing together right?

One can delete the -reps on Steam, it's literally 1 click. Keeping 10+ pages of them is not being a normal player. With a profile like this nobody would play with you if given the choice. In any other game these players would get a warning or matchmaking penalty. But not in DBD, here, toxic players and playstyles are welcome.

Right, so if one can so easily delete them, that proves they don't matter. Pages and pages of "-rep dirty facecamper" doesn't mean anything to BHVR, as they've said many times they are not going to punish it because it's an allowed strategy. The only things that TRULY matter in -rep comments should be things that are actually reportable, and it would be an actual report that BHVR would look at, not their easily deleted or not even allowed in the first place "rep" on Steam.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3319635#Comment_3319635

The only steam profile I've ever looked at was a Bubba with a horrific name.

They had a couple hundred pages of - reps and had a tracker of and I quote, "Minorities Killed"

Still isn't banned. I'm not saying that everyone with - reps should be banned but....yeah, feels like at some point maybe people are on to something.

Oh wow, yea if he has a 'counter' like that on his page, then for sure he's something to look at, but it would be that to get him banned, not the -rep opinions, you know?

  • Okay, hundreds of pages of -rep on Steam means nothing to BHVR and if they actually started banning people for that...

-rep to you for making this post.

See, now you think BHVR should ban you? No, of course not. I can go on your Steam profile and give you -rep for anything I want. Were you camping me on hook? No? Well, I think you were so -rep. Did you tunnel me? I say you did, so -rep. Are you a dirty Scratched Mirror Myers? - rep. Are you a even worse Fragrant Tombstone Myers? -rep. Are you like me and run dirty end game build and get a completely undeserved 4K? -rep.

In fact, you can't even comment on my Steam profile at all unless you are my friend, so I have no -rep on my profile at all. Would I if I allowed it? Probably. Some of it maybe might even be deserved, but most of it would not.

As I've been tremendously bored and kind of sick recently, I decided to impose a bit of a challenge on myself while playing DBD, to keep exploring the notoriously and, in my opinion, undeservedly reviled killer perk NOED. We've all heard the arguments for why it's OP and/or unfair, so do they bear out in practice?

For this experiment, I played two killers with the same build following the same general rules. It would've been three, but I played one match of Deathslinger (who I had picked as the third) and was reminded that boy, I've never liked playing Deathslinger.

The two killers I chose were picked because they are relatively weak M1 killers; Clown and Sadako. The build I used for them must follow two rules: No other endgame perks, and only one passive slowdown perk. Those rules were in place for the same reason: a full endgame build or three slowdowns and NOED wouldn't prove anything about NOED, it'd just prove those builds are strong, which... yeah. For both killers, I elected to use NOED/Lethal Pursuer/Deadlock/Franklin's Demise. In one Sadako match, I swapped Franklin's out for Save The Best For Last, because no items were in the lobby (though they would switch to some at the last second, lol).

Similarly, I used brown addons on both; the throw cooldown addon and confetti addon for Clown, and the brown TV cooldown addon and brown intermittent visibility while demanifested addon for Sadako. The logic behind these is the same; picking Pinky Finger or VHS Tape would only prove that those addons are strong, the addons needed to be of minor impact without playing completely addonless because nobody does that and it proves nothing.

Finally, camping and tunnelling were to be approached neutrally; don't go out of my way to, but if a recently unhooked survivor runs in front of me or a teammate tries looping me around a hook, I wouldn't go out of my way to avoid it either. This was largely irrelevant as those opportunities only occurred once or twice, but still, worth mentioning. Under these rules, I played five matches each, the results given below:

    Clown:

Match 1: Crotus Prenn, 2k. NOED did activate, but achieved one down and then was cleansed; one kill happened before it activated, the other after it was cleansed. Arguably NOED did nothing, though it did give me one down so technically it provided some value.

Match 2: Garden of Joy, 4k. NOED did not activate. This game was, uh... probably a matchmaking error, the survivors were kind of lemmings.

Match 3: Haddonfield, 3k. NOED technically activated, but only after I closed hatch, and the last survivor got out the gates anyway.

Match 4: MacMillan (I forget which, an offering was played also), 2k. NOED activated but was cleansed before achieving a down-- one kill happened before, the other after.

Match 5: Garden of Joy, 0k. NOED activated, and was cleansed after a single down. This was a textbook bad match with only two hooks before endgame, and NOED unsurprisingly did not swing it around since survivors did not play into it.

    Sadako:

Match 1: Fractured Cowshed, 4k. NOED did not activate. This one was also a massacre, though it wasn't quite as extreme as the other match; just some bad decisions from the survivors that snowballed.

Match 2: Yamaoka (I forget which), 2k. NOED did activate, and was more useful than normal; three total downs before it was cleansed, one of which was on the survivor to die after it was activated.

Match 3: Grim Pantry, 3k. NOED activated, and survivors continued to try bodyblocking and sabotaging hooks after it was revealed, for some reason. It would've been a 4k if not for an Unbreakable.

Match 4: Lery's, 3k, NOED activated and achieved three downs, two of which were kills- though the third was on an already injured survivor, so I think that doesn't count. This was, regardless, the most useful that NOED was without survivors being complete lemmings, and even then they made some silly decisions and the two kills were both already on death hook.

Match 5: Coal Tower (offering), 3k. NOED activated but only downed an already injured survivor. This was also the match where I swapped from Franklin's to STBFL, if it's relevant. Cocky survivors gave me an early snowball here; love to see flashlights.

    --

My conclusion is twofold. The first arm is that NOED is truly overrated- it consistently only gets one down, and requires survivors to make stupid decisions playing into it for it to do anything more than that. The second is that people really need to acknowledge that the most powerful counter to NOED is just to cleanse it, because almost every match where that was attempted by the survivors ended with the perk providing almost no value; there was only one match where I was able to interrupt someone in their attempt.

After this, I'm probably not gonna use NOED all that much again outside of endgame builds. It's really just not very good, and doesn't warrant the reputation it has for somehow carrying bad killers when they're curbstomped; matches during this experiment where I had my ass handed to me weren't turned around at all, only close matches swung in my favour because of a few impactful downs. I had to do a lot of work getting hook states out of the way before endgame if I wanted NOED to be all that useful for me, and in terms of balance, that's not only fine, it's actively good.

    TL;DR, NOED's fine.

To be fair, when did you actually do these? Because NOED has been nerfed into the ground lately due to its reputation as unfair, so now its like "HERE I AM HEY SURVIVORS I'M OVER HERE" and very easy to cleanse as you noticed. The days of getting 4 downs while the survivors try to find the NOED totem are over, as you saw you're lucky to get 1 down before they cleanse it.

Whilst I completely agree with you, I'm hoping the comments come from a place of "He's been shown to be slim before, especially with the pyjama cosmetic, why is this shirt so weird" and not from somewhere darker.

YEa, I mean I agree this shirt does not fit his character model. If lore wise they want to say he's gained some weight, that's cool but I doubt that's the case. Its like some of Susie's outfits are actually Julie underneath. It's not an issue due to Legion always wearing masks, but... they technically are different meshes even if they are only really different in the faces that you never see. Felix however IS a very different mesh than Jeff (I do agree, that body looks more like Jeff's frame.)

  • My favorite build is what I call my "perkless Pig" build because of how often I end up winning before the last generator is completed... but if they do complete all the generators, well then I have Blood Warden, No Way Out, Remember Me, and Terminus. Addons are Video Tape and Crate of Gears. Go ahead, gen rush me. I dare you.

So yea, your four toolboxes? That's a challenge.

Pretty sure it was also trending on Twitter, iirc.

Also, because people don't know about it makes it okay? Cool.

Stop defending horrible practices dude. When BHVR does something scummy (making previously released cosmetics FOMO) people are gonna bring up PAST scummy actions (releasing Pinhead and then promoting NFT's). I saw a LOT of people who weren't even that upset that they were promoting NFT's but that they released the Chapter without telling people about it. They wouldn't have supported the Chapter if they had known. Look on Steam reviews if you want to see what the general consensus is.

Yea, because Steam is the only platform that plays this game. I always forget that when the steam player numbers are thrown out to show that the game is dying.

Also, lots of things "trend" on Twitter, doesn't mean anything other than people are talking about it. People can just as easily be saying "I love NFTs" (not that I am saying the majority did) and it will be trending because of people talking about it.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3317063#Comment_3317063

Notice how I didn't ever say they made NFT's.

This was a HUGE thing on the Forums last year. I, unfortunately, know my stuff. BHVR absolutely knew what they were getting into, weighed the risks and decided to do it anyway. Even suggesting that they didn't know what they were getting into is completely laughable.

So they should have told all the players that wanted Hellraiser and don't know or care about NFTs to go jump in a lake? Yea, they weighed the risks and decided that the haters of NFTs would be a minority to those that wanted a Hellraiser chapter. Were they wrong? Maybe, but that's the decision they had to make.

My point is, you may beleive they made the wrong choice, but everyone constantly bringing it up every time BHVR even sneezes is what's laughable. Get over it already.

Also, yeah it was a HUGE thing on the forums last year, and news flash, those on the forums are a minority of the players. Every single player on these forums could agree with each other, and we'd still be a minority of the total Dead by Daylight population.

  • IMO they need to bring back the YELLOW map offerings and get rid of the green ones. A chance not a 100% guarantee.

Technically speaking stalling the game to the limit kills the survivors, so it is progressing the game.

The doctor example was very specific because he can spam keep people in tier 3 madness so they cant do gens because they are incapacitated. Patrolling a 3 gen does not stop survivors from teying to do gens.

Didn't they recently change it so it causes a disconnect for everyone in the match, not a 4K win for the killer? Not really sure which is worse, but I think I heard that.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3317055#Comment_3317055

    Pretty much yeah

They allowed the NFT's to be made and promoted them. Like you said, they used BHVR's models. No models, no NFT's. No BHVR, no NFT's.

So they should have told them no and not ever had Hellraiser in the game? Plus, are you even 100% sure that they knew that the community would have such a problem with the movie studio doing NFTs? Because again, if NFTs are such the major issue, then why are so many people still doing them? I'm sure for some its because they just don't care, but many don't know how bad it is. We don't know what BHVR knew before entering the contract. Plus you have all the people who tried to get Valve to ban Dead by Daylight from Steam because they "have NFTs in the game" which they don't, what Valve bans for is a very specific thing that Dead by Daylight doesn't do.

I am just sick of every time someone has a problem with something BHVR does, someone chimes in with

"BhVr Is BaD tHeY mAdE nFtS"

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3316989#Comment_3316989

They publicly promoted them on their social media.

They knowingly went into a contract that stipulated they promote NFT's.

So yes, they did do that.

They themselves still didn't make NFTs as so many claimed. Also, not everyone understands the problem with NFTs. I'm sure BHVR does now, but even if they do, they are still unfortunately in the minority. Everybody and their little brother are doing NFT promotions these days. You boycott all of them too?

Wouldn't be a risk to streamers because every game with voice chat has the option to autoblock it.

Yes, and a large enough number of players even those that aren't streamers would not use it that there is no point in adding it. Grand Theft Auto Online has in game voice chat and everyone I've ever played with has just used Discord.

  • @Pulsar said:

    After they ######### around with NFT's, I can't say that I'm surprised.

But it still has voice chat, and yet it is still a popular game. Toxicity is an issue and unfortunately most likely always will be, but my point is that is not the only thing it would bring. Every game I've played, COD included that has VC I've made good friends on. Hell in post game dm chats I've made good friends with players from the opposite team even when I've absolutely demolished them as killer. There are a lot of nice people out there, and the toxic ones are simply one click away from being excluded from your experience.

Dbd especially relies on co ordination and tactics, which is why solo q sucks so hard because there is almost no way to communicate with your team mates beyond pointing, beckoning or teabagging.

There is also the fact that VC for survivors would for sure be less toxic because they are on the same team and need to rely on each other to survive.

Edit: streamers also have a tendency of being artificially toxic because it gets them views and engagement.

Some streamers do be toxic for that kind of audience, yes. I don't watch those streamers. A couple streamers I do watch have had cases where they have done voice chat and had to stop doing it, end their stream, and delete their VOD due to someone coming in and saying racist things in their voice chat. Sure, you might not mind the occasional toxic chat, but for streamers who can literally get BANNED from Twitch for something beyond their control, and for many women (or those who play women in games) it's just not worth it to take the chance.

  • Because the emblems system is a legacy of when matchmaking was done differently. Your "Grade" as its' now called has NOTHING to do with matchmaking, it only determines how much bloodpoints bonus you get on the reset each month.

  • Correct, they are finally making it so you aren't punished for using a killer's power. Like OhTofu has been doing a series of getting killer Adepts (mostly at Iridescent I) and he had to try Bubba like six times because he wasn't camping or anything like that, but because of how quickly Bubba downs survivors, he couldn't get the chaser emblems without playing Bubba as an M1 killer. Which is dumb. Same issue with Myers and such can happen. Also Ghost Face and even Pig can be hard because of how you can end a game very quickly. So now, you will just have to get a 4K, same as a survivor just has to escape.

There was an official response in one of the posts. Basically, to BHVRs knowledge, they still have the license with no indication yet that they will lose it. Yes, a Texas Chainsaw Massacre game is coming out, and there is a possibility that they may rescind the license or choose not to renew it, depending on the license type.

YEa, can you please try to find this official post that you saw?

  • Yea, it won't be much different than it is now in that respect.

  • That's not a bad build for your idea, for sure. I find its a lot harder to come up with a perk combo to actively hinder the killer like it is for survivors (if you want to really troll a streamer doing "pick my build" you can't do worse than No Mither, For the People, Solidarity, and Self-Care) but you seem to have some good ideas.

  • @KillerSidedBHVR said:

Second game, looped killer so bad that once he finally got his first hook, he face camped me until I died, got de pip as well. Where is the safety pip in those situation? what kind of BS is that?

Because you played poorly. You shouldn't have let the killer catch you the first time.

I'm not good at Nurse but I feel that any change to a killer that makes a good portion of perks useless is a poor choice. A killer's power shouldn't render perks unusable.

Why not? That's the way it is for most other killers. In fact, I'm pretty sure Nurse is the last killer whose power still benefits from perks.

  • The way I see it, there are two types of Nurses in DBD.

    1. Those that are fun to go against, even if they kill you.
    2. Those that are unfun to go against, because of the way they kill you.

This "nerf" will only nerf the second, and if you're a Nurse main that relies on being number 2, well good riddance. When I get a number 1 Nurse, always give them a GG and let them know they were a great Nurse. But those that are number 2 that have a total reliance on that Nurse meta of aura perks and exposed perks, that's just not fun.

  • You say you hit "gold" and suddenly players were more coordinated. It doesn't work that way. Your grade is independent of your MMR rating and only used to determine how much bonus Bloodpoints you get on the monthly reset, the 13th. What happened is that you raised your MMR and you are getting better survivors, in theory. Whether MMR actually works or not is a discussion for another thread (or at least not something I'm going to be discussing.)

Okay, wait. Isn't it that only her -hit-directly-after-blink-hits- are changed? her REGULAR m1 hits are not? Meaning that, yeah, whoop-di-do, you have to play a little more tactical now? Like, no more such perks, bamf to player, knock them down and hook them. No, you got to know where to bamf to start a chase and get a regular hit in to get the benefits of those perks? Meaning that you really ought to be -good- with nurse now?

Is that what these complains are about?

Pretty much, yes. Basically if you were able to down a survivor WITHOUT those perks, now you'll be able to still do it. But it won't be easy. Like I've had many a nurse that blinked behind me, injured me, then still managed to get that second hit on me. I have far more respect for the skill of a nurse that can play that way, and she's a lot more fun to play against. Whenever I see a Nurse not running exposed perks and still getting that 4K, I always give her kudos in end game chat.

  • Yea, I'm fine with gen regression builds, I'm used to them. But Nurse's ability to teleport behind you and instantly down you, honestly as a Pig main even I am annoyed by that. If my dash attacks don't count as basic attacks, why does her blinks? It's such an annoying inconsistency. The only instant down powers should be those directly intended to be, like Billy, Bubby, Ghosty, Myers, etc.

Based on what you wrote, I wouldn't necessarily call it tunneling if someone has been hooked twice in a row. What have you been doing in between hooks? There are many games where I hook someone . Get in a chase with another survivor. They are good and either escape or I give up because I'm wasting time. I encounter the survivor I hooked last. Usually I'll be nice and let them escape. Then I'll encounter them again. At that point it's fair game. Especially if they are at full health again.

Running from them. That's it. I am totally of the "if you have time to do a conspicious action, you are not being tunneled" school, and so no I am talking being chased right after hook, through the basekit Borrowed Time.

You're talking about a wider problem with social gaming. CoD has a much bigger toxicity problem than dbd, and yet it still has voice chat. Even games as toxic as league of legends have chat functions for pity's sake.

Sorry to hear about the lengths your friend has to go to because of trolls. It's a problem I've seen a lot and I'll always call out people who act like that.

The tools are there to mitigate how unpleasant some people will be. And in all honesty I don't believe it'll be as bigger problem as people make out. Most of my dbd interactions are positive. Yeah the end game chat is often toxic af but that's usually because killer is talking to survs. If the VC is just mid match then most survs who do use it will be trying to work together. And the few outliers who are properly toxic will be muted and (provided they add a decent report/monitoring system) will be banned pretty rapidly. Even without reporting and banning, mute functions are easy to use. If I'm ever being verbally abused in a game I simply mute the offender, problem solved.

Yea, there is a streamer on Twitter who does "toxic streamer" videos where he (without names or faces) shows some of the toxic stuff many streamers say and he is not at all devoid of content nearly daily. He also doesn't just go off of one video, maybe they had a bad day, but looks over all their VODS to see a pattern of behavior. These are active streamers on Twitch that are some of the most toxic I've ever seen.

Sure, you can choose to mute voice chat, which you know what? I play Smite and I have had the voice chat permanently muted in my settings since 2016.

The thing is, adding voice chat would not help simply because most are not going to want to take the risk. Yes, CoD has a bigger problem BECAUSE of the voice chat.

    Hear me out:

    1. Remove hooks.
    2. Give every Killer moris (Stay with me)
    3. Give Survivors a respawn mechanic.
    4. Add a time limit to matches
    5. Survivors can pick themselves up, if slugged.

Now, you can build the game around Moris being amazing and violent and even add new mories to the cash shop!

Now, the Killer's goal is just to prevent Survivors from escaping until the Entity claims them. Every time they kill a Survivor, the Survivor goes into Ghost Mode; they cannot see alive Survivor or the Killer (To prevent ghosting on discord).

After 10 seconds; the Survivor can manually respawn. After 20 seconds; they are forced to respawn (To avoid staying dead).

The Survivor's goal is to do all the gens and escape. The Killer just needs to delay them. Moris are now more important because they are HOW the Killer delays Survivors. Every down becomes an amazing mori, but, just as importantly; No one is 'kicked out of the game early' or camped or slugged or tunneled, because dying is just a delaying tactic instead of the method to win.

Everyone gets to play the entire match, camping does not exist, slugging is useless since a dead Survivor respawns, tunneling is useless since dead Survivors respawn. Killers are scary since you die if you're found, but get to respawn and try again.

Boom; The largest complaints in the game are fixed, the gameplay loop becomes more fluid, discord communication does not matter, and Killers can be made powerful and scary again.

Okay, so create a completely new game that is not Dead by Daylight. That's what you are saying.

  • While I am more of a Pig main now, I am also a Legion (Susie) main and I can't tell you the number of times I've had people DC as soon as they hear the Legion music. Like, you can say "make the game more fun" all you want but when someone doesn't like a killer, nothing is going to change their mind short of removal of any killer they don't like. Also, I've had many a player DC with an active trap on their head. Like, they realize they aren't getting it off in time, so they DC.

Heck, I'm sure Nurse mains get more DCs than even Legion... A personal example, I am not a Nurse player I suck with her but once I lost a match because the survivors heard that screech... LEAVE MATCH. LEAVE MATCH. LEAVE MATCH. Then the last survivor found hatch. I was both angry and laughing to avoid crying.

  • I play both survivor and killer, and I'd say that I get tunneled in a majority of my survivor matches as I'm very often the first and only person that has been hooked. I'd say that's a fair definition of being tunneled if any is.

Now, as a killer I try to not do that, but if the generators are popping quickly, then sometimes you need to, but even then I'll only do it if there is literally nobody else in the area.

The way I look at it is that every survivor main should play killer for a few games. Do some Tome challenges. Learn to see things from the killer side. It will make you a better survivor. Every killer main should play survivor for awhile Do some Tome challenges. Learn to see things from the survivor side. It will make you a better killer.

  • Remember to boop Amanda, unless she is wearing black leather or a reverse bear trap of her own, then run...

Personally I think information perks at basekit would still buff SWFs. It's hard to make callouts in VC on dbd. Unless they are near an obvious feature like main building or killer shack. Aura reading would be a huge boon to SWFs that they really don't need.

You are on the mark though. Solo q is god awful and needs a buff that will not benefit SWFs. My personal suggestion is add in game VC. It would helps SWFs a fair bit and go some of the way to helping them co-ordinate a little better.

The arguments against it are pretty weak. People claim it will have a toxicity problem. (You know, like every game that has VC ever) well that is why there are mute block and avoid functions. And BHVR have said the game is not balanced around VC. Well SWFs get VC anyway, more so, now that discord is directly usable on the xbox and will be soon on the ps4. So it would be best to add it then adapt the balance for voice chat. The game can be a very fun social experience.

But atm it sucks for solo q. Especially at low mmrs. Killer is so much easier to play and new killers will always shred new survivors.

Edit: perhaps information basekits could be applied only to survivors that are not in a group. Should be easy enough to do.

God no, in-game VC would be terrible. Most people wouldn't use it, and those that did would quickly learn not to. Seriously. I used to know a model who played Call of Duty, but she only played it in party chat with friends, and you had to BUY her PSN name which helped to keep her safe from trolls. Because the second she entered normal chat lobby, the misogyny was let loose.

Now, with how the Dead by Daylight community is just in the end-game lobby? No, no way in Hell I would ever use an in-game voice feature unless it was with a SWF.

  • I am a Pig main, and depending on if I am wearing the Pig mask or not, I will sometimes accept boops. It depends on how the game goes though. Like if you are sabotaging hooks and flashlighting me at every pallet, then no I'm not accepting your boops at the end of the game. But, if you are the last survivor and you played well without being a a complete PITA, then yeah. I'll give you hatch. Maybe. Like one really cool game this Jeff was awesome, and so when he booped me at the end, I decided that the Entity would decide his fate. I picked him up, and started taking him to a hook. If I heard the hatch, I'd give it to him, but if not he got hooked. Well, I heard the hatch so I turned and gave it to him.

Sure dude because keeping perks usable on a killer that are not the strongest ones for that specific killer is definitely objectively the best choice.

Every killer that runs sloppy and jolt over call of brine and eruption creates a less annoying situation for the survivors and removing that would just make people run more of those better perks... Against jolt you can at least take the killer to an area where gens are not being worked on... Against eruption there is nothing you can do without comms to know when sB is about to go down...

It's not about those perks, it's about the ones most Nurses run that make her able to get instant-downs on survivors that have no way of countering her. Even a halfway decent Nurse can land her blinks, and if she's running an exposed perk and something like BBQ, then it's a wash. When they were doing the "Finisher Mori" test on the PTB, I saw quite a few Nurse players pulling off a 4K in under three minutes, at least one in under a minute. It's insanely easy for a Nurse to just slug everyone with the right exposed perks...

So no, the fact that she won't be able to use Jolt, I don't care.

Rework his insta-mori stuff, particularly TSP. These two addons are miserable to play against and should be called 'nobody gets pips today'.

Move Scratched Mirror down to brown and Vanity Mirror down to yellow. These are, by a mile, his most fun addons and encourage a lot of healthy play (looping, chases) as well as funny moments (jumpscares and ambushes).

Improve the thematically resonant parts of his kit.

    • Dead Rabbit baseline.
    • Increase his vault speed further at T2 and 3.
    • T3 also gives him faster pallet breaks.
    • He also gains stalk when hitting a survivor at T1 and T2.

...'This killer should be weak because he's a meme killer' is a...take.

I'd say he needs unhealthy addons reworked and then buffed in other areas, because Myers tends to be either pretty weak or a frustrating instant death machine.

Way to miss my point. I outright said he is NOT weak, despite being a meme killer to an extent.

I think the main change that needs to happen with Nurse is to bring her in line with every other killer and make her attacks count as special attacks until after her fatigue

It is sometimes disappointing when players keep suggesting the same things when it has already been explained over and over again why it is not a good idea.

It makes you wonder if the people who come to the forum read the topics before they participate.

As I have stated many times, changing the M1 of the nurse to M2 would prevent her from using Jolt, Sloppy butcher and K.O. There is no reason to prevent her from using these perks.

Tell me you are a Nurse main without telling me you are a Nurse main.
