your point about no counterplay to sabo anymore is kinda off, 90 seconds til they can pick themselves up is still an insane amount of time a survivor isn't doing anything besides laying there so many people overlooking that 90 seconds, sorry but if u have to slug for 90 seconds and u dont feel like thats enough to counterplay a sabo play is kinda crazy to me man
otherwise i think u got pretty good points, i think the only things that should trigger the anti tunnel punishment is the actual hook killing the survivor, or final judgement from pyramid head i guess… not condemn from sadako, its already pretty hard to play condemn to begin with if the survivors lock in.
i think 4 hooks should be fine or have a point system like i saw someone on reddit talking about where u need 10 hook points to kill survivors and u get 2 per survivor first hook and then 1 if u hook them again and u can mori them or hook them for perk activation sounded pretty cool tbh would need better balancing but they just threw out an idea.
cause i feel like the problem is fundamentally cooked with the hook stages and they're trying to play around it using these punishments instead of maybe just fixing the actual way killers kill survivors.
also i hope the pallet density change will spread the pallets more across maps and remove them from strong areas like main in asylum and put them somewhere else in those maps where theres more of a "deadzone" cause ngl these pallets lately have been super unsafe or its deadzones or really strong loops no in between for real.
and yes the tutorial is so bad, even when the new tutorial system came it out it already felt dated the day it came out lol.
I totally agree with the myers changes, I swear he should have some kind of like teleportation ability to play into like the scary appear guy not some tall good guy with insta downs, like maybe being able to teleport to people he has stalked or something atleast something that feels like actual halloween.
the sabo point I feel still stands. They can recover and crawl faster, allowing better positioning for a pallet for flashy save, or a teammate can pick them up. And if they have WGLF, then that’s more killer time wasted. Sure it’s 90 seconds for self pick up, but in the end there’s way too many variables. Sabo is decently strong as is, and doesn’t need any more buffs. That’s one of the biggest things getting affected by the anti slug that a lot of people are ignoring. And sabo squads are gonna be even more annoying if this goes live

I think because of the time of year more people are winding down and playing games so of course that means lots of SWF players. Generally SWF's come in with a plan and will bring map offerings etc...
I only play solo these days and honestly I escaped 1 out of the last 5 matches and that was barely. I am not seeing offerings or sweaty stuff either
Its been every round for me. Its so unbearable that I might just quit dbd all together. There is no fun when gens barely last five minutes game after game and its always eyrie or badham or garden

And survivors srill run dh with gen rush builds and try to pound gens out in under five minutes. Your point?

They should just nerf her recharge and range add-ons and/or remove the possibility to stack up slowdown perks (which they won't do).
Her basekit is perfectly fine imho
Also spirit isn't weak at all
If they do that, then they should limit the survivors ability to stack second chance perks :)

I think the biggest problem with that old system was that it put new players against very experienced players which was completely unfair and pretty horrid for the new player experience.
Okay, but it is still happening in the new system.

The developers already talked about this. When his new bottle was released. To entice survivors to go where the Clown wants them to go.
In my opinion, if we really wanted to make Clown oppressive: Combine both effects of bottles into one. The gas slows survivors and speeds up Clown. One bottle. One cloud. No switching.
Thats a nice idea, but I feel they poorly executed it if that is really what they were going for
-
They can't really change this without butchering how Pig works entirely. We arfe just gonna have to deal with it. Besides, shes low tier abd hardly anyone really plays her anyway. Even then, not every Pig will do this
-
@Junylar said:
If anyone had any doubts, it shows perfectly which side the devs take in this "us vs them" argument. NOED has been the most unfair and hated perk in the game, turning occasional 0k into 2k, 1k into 3k, and 2k into 4k with no extra effort required. CoH wasn't that strong in the first place, if we don't touch the problematic subject of SWF, and they nerf it after a couple of months.
I guess "just to the bones" argument indeed works in only one direction, it's a title of some sort.
Killers: *get nerfed all year round*
Survivors: *get their 1 nerf per year*
SUrvivors: Unfair. Devs have clearly shown what side they favor. THey are so killer sided They just cater to the killers. Uninstalling

@Sakurra said:
If you camp or tunnel just because someone outplayed you (not toxic) without perks at all, then sorry to say but you are just a crybaby killer that can't admit someone is better than you at this game. Really. I had a hard time trying to escape 8 times without perks. I had to rely on my skill and teammates with BT and sometimes flashlights saves. And in all these matches I was the only one camped and tunneled. And of course it works because no perks, no DS, no second chance perks to help me against these cheap tactics. What a huge ego some of you have! You can't stand when someone mindgame you very well and is hard to catch. Leave that survivor if you struggle catching him. Stop being stubborn to catch him and then camp him because your ego is too big.
Anyway, I did my achievement. In that kind of matches where killers are not stubborn and they know when to break the chase. And in some where I was still camped+tunneled, but my teammates had BT. That's what I had to say.
Apparently a killer doing normal killer things to secure a kill as a killer=massive ego

@Sluzzy said:
I say too effective but you could also say they are overpowered, hence killers are overpowered.
Before someone comes at me that “Sluzzy, a 4 man SWF can counter those or good survivors can deal with it”. My answer: If it takes a perfect 4 man SWF to overcome something, there is a huge balancing problem.
One player should never, by default, simply win against an average team because builtin killer tactics are free and too strong. The devs might say it is a strategy, well I have an answer there too, it is an unskillful strategy that is too strong. The survivor side does not have a default unskillful strategy that gives a huge advantage. Survivors are expected to become and get a PHD from looping school before they can keep killers away for longer than 10 seconds. Casuals can’t deal with it and it drives away players. Stealth is almost non-existent so being seen by killers seem to be how everyone plays.
Now, I’m not about limiting killers. I believe strongly in big agency where players can play how they want as I feel that is contributed to DBD’s tremendous success but I feel like these killers strategies are simply too effective. When the game first came out, survivors were so much stronger so these killer strategies were warranted strong. But now that survivors are greatly nerfed over time, killers need adjustments. I am constantly facing killers winning because they camp or tunnel someone out of the match and the survivors are not compensated. Then in many matches the survivors give up because of an unwinnable way to win. The hatch and EGC mechanic are very unfair now.
Make the hook timer a little slower if the killer is camping. Make decisive strike cause the killer to lose the sense of sound so he can’t hear which direction the survivor is going after a strike. No scratch marks for 10 seconds after a successful strike. If the killer is stabbed, he could lose some of his senses for a little while. There is so much that can be done to deter camping and tunneling.
The Entity needs to help in these dire situations. If all four are slugged unnecessarily, why not give one a helping hand, especially at 5 gens still remaining. Is the Entity not feeding on hope or is that simply a lie? I am so tired of going into survivor matches and seeing steam roll and after steam roll. And these killers find it fun or would not want a challenge?
Decisive Strike was overnerfed and needs a buff now. It’s never been buffed, only nerfed. If it is actually labeled as an anti-tunnel perk, then it should be one. It’s not one. Meta killers ignore it and down them instantly again. It’s almost like a survivor with 3 perks and a tiny 5 second stun that the killer don’t even mind.
Not every game is a 4 man perfect SWF that can deal with these powerful killer tactics, there needs to be something done to help 96% of the games where it is overpowered. But done in a way that doesn’t make the perfect SWFs any stronger.
Lost me after the first couple lines. It is a 4v1 game, not a 1v1 with another 1v1 with another 1v1 and another 1v1. THe 4 should work together to beat the 1
-
The entire point of Otz's experiment was showing that killer's have to play "dirty" in order to win, and its all up to who wants to pay more dirrty: the killer or the survivors. But of course, the killer plaing dirty to win just results in death threats and slurs from four different poeple
-

As good as that sounds, that doesn't help the killer problem at higher MMR where camping is a required strategy.

Nah kill rates means everything hence Cenobite got Nerfed and rightfully so since he got a lot of kills.
No. The data is flawed. There are several reasons that a survivor can die at any given time.Pinhead is widely considered B tier at best. All he had really going for him were add ons and a bug that is now patched out. If the devs would actually play their own game, then their balancing would be far better, and they would understand the real problems in this game

Woof.
Okay, going point by point:
- Wraith was 'B' tier before his nerf. Now he is hot garbage.
- Freddy's lunge is the same as any other killer. He's smaller, so it looks longer.
- Ghostface can be revealed. What?
- Are you really complaining about Myers?
- That's Billy, not Bubba. Just dodge him.
- Clown is one of the weakest killers in the game. As is Trickster.
- Hag is strong, but vulnerable to healing. Figure out her zone, when she hits you just run away and heal. If you keep running through her 'zone', you are going to struggle. She's also vanishingly rare - you are unlikely to see her until you start playing at a very high MMR and even then, you'll find maybe one or two in a 'season'. I've literally only ever gone up against her once, and we crushed her.
- Cenobite is the furthest thing from OP.
- BHVR have already said that they are adding a feature to discourage facecamping. Proxy camping, tunneling and the like are how the game is meant to be played.
- This game is absolutely not killer sided.
Look, OP. It sounds like you had a few bad games. But these are all issues that, with a bit of experience, will mostly vanish. Rather focusing on 'the entire roster of killers is OP because they can actually kill survivors when played right', focus on what you can do to play better.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2653707#Comment_2653707
Sure.
Cenobite, Wraith and Slinger were solidly 'B' tier, but got nerfed to the ground within months.
Stuff like OoO and DS took years to get minor nerfs.
There are still actual infinites in the game. These have never been fixed.
More than half the maps are moderately to strongly survivor favored.
Dead Hard was a strong perk, but got 'fixed' (see: buffed) and now is overwhelmingly strong.
Killers that do well at the low end are nerfed with no regard for their performance at intermediate/high MMR, but killers that struggle at the low end don't get buffs.
There are still tons of bugs that make life hard for killer, but will likely never be fixed (validation bugs, survivors can't be picked up in certain places, killer powers/addons not working correctly etc.)
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2653720#Comment_2653720
Every time someone complains that BHVR are 'killer sided' and then post-hoc claiming that they play a lot of killer, I always imagine Elmer Fudd in a bunny costume.
really wondering what these devs are up to, nerfing b tier killers. meanwhile, gens can be all done and a gate open in like four minutes, but they don't touch that. It just forces killers to have to bring some kind of slowdown, which there are only about two that are good for it, resulting still in the same, basic, bland builds everyone uses. still though, what is the deal with nerfing b tier killers? Why not buff the c and lower tier killers
-
You do realize the killer is only one person, while there are 4 survivors to keep track of what they have to keep track of?
-
Love when the players who have less than fifty hours voice opinions on what needs changed
-
- Close to 100 perks on each side, and yet both sides have only 7 perks that are useful. This results in going against the same, bland builds every game. They really need to work on balancing. Perks that are strong (meta) seriously need to be looked at. If it's too strong, then nerf it. Don't go around nerfing already weak perks (looking at Thrill of the Hunt)
- The grind is ridiculous. Over 100 teachable perks to unlock, and then you have to unlock those on the character you want, and then buy them two extra times. They should just make it so that when you but the perk for the first time, that is it. It's yours and you don't need to buy it two other times with it getting more expensive.
- The toxicity. As a killer, win or lose, survivors still find a reason to get toxic with you. Like, if you died in a game about dying to a killer, why are you so mad? And if the killer didn't even kill you, why are you still mad? Survivors wonder why they wait forever in lobby, then treat killers like this. All it does is make killers leave the game, and the ones who stick around become the very killer survivors hate. I use survivors as a prime example, becuase they are the only ones I see being toxic. Sure, toxic killers exist, but I have yet to actually meet one. When I play killer, the survivors are sending toxic messages to me. And when I play survivor, the killer is sending me a gg while the other survivors are being toxic,
-
Why nerf Thrill of the Hunt? Easy. Its BHVR
-
@Sluzzy said:
The game has become too killer sided. Imagine being a new player and finally getting that shiney red key, only to find it is totally useless because killers will slug for the 4K.
Imagine being a new killer and getting matched against meta perk swfs right off the bat who have gens done in two minutes and tbagging at the gates like holding m1 on a gen and thinks looping a killer who doesn't know what they are doing is cool. Just consider that for a moment. And can't say ######### about killer sided game when Spirit is getting nerfed and Deathslinger for some reason, while Boon totems are about to add another objectivw for killer in a role that is already heavy with time management.
-
Yeah, except the ptb is just advertisement. They hardly ever change anything from PTB to live
-
Except killers can't actually get rid of the effect, genius. It just keeps coming on back. Isn't this why you survivors wanted old Undying nerfed?
-
You want to complain that the devs only buff killers and nerf survivors, and are doing this a mere two days since the patch notes for Spirit's nerf got posted. Here is an idea: go play killer a ton, climb up to a decent mmr level, and then see which side is truly the weakest. See which side is truly in need of buffs. I ######### dare you. You survivors are not gonna rest until every past damn killer has been nerfed in to the ground, and you're second chance perks all recieve unneeded buffs while all killer perks become worthless, so that you all can switch your brains off and play on autopilot and pull easy wins out of your asses. All you have to do to win is sit on a gen and hold a button, and occasionally tap another. Quit your whining and get good
-
She is all thats left for killers of the higher skill bracket. Y'all are just out to for free, easy wins because all your second chance perks just aren't enough?

What is the difference? You just don't hang them up for the third time in a row. How does that magically make the game less fun?
Look, I have nothing against people playing this way. You want to? Go ahead. But personally, playing like this doesn't appeal to me. I am just trying to point out flaws in this system tat I am witnessing. There is no reason for survivors/killers that are just now picking up this game, to go against the opposite side who has been playing this game for several thousand hours.
-
@Axx said:
if you want to 100% avoid sweaty players, the best thing to do is hook everyone once and then chase and slug until they all escape as killer. On survivor I would assume you would have to die early, but then you don't really get BP or a chance to play. I have done this on Blight seeing I had never played him before MMR, and I keep getting new survivors. I just practice and let everyone live.
Yeah, but there is really no fun in that. My biggest concern here, tho, is the unbalance in matchmaking now. Constantly seeing killers/survivors with 80 hours going against the opposite with 9,000 hours. Theres no way their sbmm is as balanced as its claimed to be
-

It's bhvr. They promise so many things, and they just don't deliver. Anyone remember the promised "early game collapse" they promised on so long ago, and just never did it? Or, how about how Hoarder got it's ability to lessen rarities of items in chests, was disabled for a "bug" so they could fix it, and was just never reimplemented?

Does that include making him 110%? He can instantly cloak to move around the map, he has a megalunge for his chase power, and he can get free hits. Revert Wraith to his old self, remove true invisiblity, nerf his OP add-ons so Wraith mains can't crutch on Windstorm and All-Seeing, and make him 110%. That's my proposed Wraith nerf, he's OP as hell and needs a nerf. And I'm TOTALLY not bad at the game or anything.
He literally has to slow down to uncloak, he is really weak against light, stun him while cloaked and it lasts longer. He was weak in his old state. One of the worst killers. Now that he can't be so easily bullied, you are just mad. He is still easy to counter. Get good

Love how his add ons weren't an issue until he got buffed. Now that he isn't a little ######### anymore, you survivors just can't stand it!

Yes we do care about the game and we do care about hackers/cheaters ruining the games for others, and we do frequently ban - we have a team of specific people who do just that. And with the amount of posts we get with regards to people complaining that they've been game banned, I'm actually surprised when people come out and say "they don't ban people" because we clearly do.
There are videos all over the place of one particular hacker who shall not be named, that span back from present to three months ago

@jajay119 said:
The Pig is one killer who I absolutely cannot stand going against as I find every encounter quite a chore. I do feel she is quite OP given she has stealth, a lunge attack and the traps.
I could cope with the stealth and lunge attacks as they are not to different from Ghostface or Michael but it's the traps that really break the experience for me.
I don't want the traps removed as they're what sets her apart but it's the need to run to run to multiple 'removal points' with no real way of knowing which one will work that gets to me. Not only does it detract from doing the objectives (which is the point, I realise this) but it makes it easier for the Pig to find and hook you (again) as you cannot remain stealthy when trying to remove them.
The traps need to be nerfed by either:
1/ Getting removed on the first 'removal point' you get to.
2/ The necessary removal point is highlighted in white on the map like the alarm clocks when going against Freddy, the cleanse points for the Plague etc.
3/ making it so you cannot be hooked immediately after the pig uses a trap and doing something to move you away from the killer like how Pyramid Heads trap moves you to the furthest point on the map. However the timer is reduced and if you don't get it off in time it reduces your health state by 1 rather than insta-kill.
This would protect the purpose of the traps to add time to the match by stopping the primary objective but be a bit more balanced in like with a killer who is already quite powerful.
Yes. Let's nerf the weakest killer in the game. There are bigger problems for the devs to think about in terms of balance, but sure. Nerf the weakest killer in the game. While they're at it, they should consider nerfing Trapper and buffing Spirit.
-
All the people in hear so salty because I told them the truth and they can't face it.
-
Found the survivor main-eyeroll. We get it-you're salty, biased, and hyoerbolic.
You couldn't be more wrong. I play both sides, and this uis something I have observed over my time playing it. Survivors play better than the killer and win in five minutes, they pip and the killer depips. The killer plays better and kills everyone in five minutes, they still depip. Don't you say thats kinda stupid? Or are you biased into beliving it is somehow fair to punish someone for plying better.
-
Its an issue that can harm both sides. Lower skilled killers can get matched against experienced players, because one person in that party was equal to them. Meanwhile, less experienced survivors get boosted and thrown into matches at red ranks, where they aren't even ready and get squashed. Plus, it can be frustrating to deal with as a killer when everyone is on comms., and was a survivor when you're boosted and met with a far more experienced killer. MMR won't help anything. It'll only make it wrose. Honestly, rthere needs to be a solo mode or something
