Having this issue at the moment as well, notification stuck on the store but I have been through every single thing. please make it go away.
-
if the survivor numbers drop too low they will replace survivors with bots. they snuck it into 2v8 with 2 bots per team, now 1v4 they will likely first try to sneak 1 bot in and go from there.
-
Im away on summer vacation so haven't had the chance to play for a few weeks. It's a shame the only new survivor item in over half a decade didn't even last 2 weeks before being rendered useless.
At this point I have to ask why bother? Just remove it and refund everyone for their items. -
Yeah, I think that would be great.
Imagine the 2v8s
Darth Vader and Naughty Bear vs Steve Harrington, Nicolas Cage, Lara Croft, The Witcher, Alan Wake, James Sunderland, Bill and Ash Williams on Haddonfield.
-
I think theres' a thousand more important things to fix right now so this would be bottom of the priority pile, and I mean bottom.
-
They should just not show the killer the pregame lobby. Better that way.
-
He has the lowest killrate on Nightlight for the past 28 days.
https://nightlight.gg/killers/viewer?shown=kill&sort=kill&start_days=28&compact=true
And the 28 days before that.
QoL changes for Singularity should be fine, people rarely play the killer anyway since he does everything worse than other killers for every thing that he does.
-
Just get it over time, no big deal.
As it is, many of the console achievements require significantly less to get than for steam users. -

I see everyone is stuck on this idea that matchmaking is “broken” because experienced Survivors are partnered with inexperienced Survivors.
What if it’s not broken but working as intended? The better you get at Survivor the harder your games get, including weights on your own team that you have to carry. Adding inexperienced players to a match with an experienced player is a good way of keeping a 40% escape rate.
The escape rate would be much higher if all Survivors were the same skill level. If each Survivor can run the Killer around a minute with each hook state then the Killer has no chance. So to keep things fair experienced players are handicapped and inexperienced players receive a small boost.
Now I understand that this is exactly the frustration in solo que but again, I wouldn’t say mmr is broken. I just think that it is accomplishing its goal in ways that people don’t like, but not that it is broken.
You get teammates that aren’t as good as you.. You get a Killer who you believe is less skilled than you.. And despite believing that you are the best player on the server you are the one who always loses while everyone else benefits from the situation in some way. I understand the frustration. Games are very difficult for people who are good, just not difficult in a way that they believe is fair.
Im sorry but thats not fun at all.
Why should experienced players have to carry inexperienced ones? They'd just go play in 4 mans.
-
buy cosmetics that cost 3x the price of a DLC.
-
Best advice I have is play survivor with at least 1 friend or just play another game. SoloQueue is the worst its been, and is only getting worse.
-
All my friends quit playing lol, and I love playing survivor when I want to chill. Sure I die like 80% of the time but thats fine.
I occasionally get them to come back but they get stomped for a couple of games and would rather play Paladins, 7Days2Die or some other open world survival game instead.
My friends played more consistently when the matchmaking wasn't the complete trash it is today.
-
What kind of killrate do you think deathslinger should be at?
-
On Nightlight Ruin tracks as the 21st most used killer perk, with a 4.93% usage rate.
21 out of 118 isn't that bad. It could be buffed slightly however I think the usage rate is pretty fair? One in every 20 killers is running it on average.

Yeah I won't play much until the Anniversary. A permanent increase would be good. They had 150% for survivor during Lights Out and apparently not even that was enough as Mathieu apparently said in an interview that most people went back to the regular game early. They have the bonus bp depending on role needed, maybe increase it to 200%?
I dont think it helped that Lights out sucked for survivors.
-
You shouldnt even see the other team until you get into the game. The second lobby with all 4 players getting ready is pointless. When you 'ready up' with the play button you should be ready.
-
Doesn't need a nerf.

I'm a walking disaster on that map as Survivor. I can only find the one generator by the basement. No matter how many times I play it in both roles, I can't find gens there as Survivor and I hate it
I always recommend Deja Vu and Detectives Hunch for new maps or reworked maps for a few games so you get the gist of how & where things spawn. Typically I'll run them for ~10 games before I feel comfortable without.
-
I'm rarely at the hook when the survivor is getting unhooked so I don't really see this that often. Does it make it harder for you?

Is it removed or is the bar just not there?
Fully removed

Man I just got hardcamped for 2 healthstates and the anti-camp thing didnt even trigger. Fun? yeah pull the other 1.
-
I'd love a Nick skin, he's my go-to whenever possible. With voicelines too

UK servers here. It's certainly nothing like what those individuals are saying from my experience. In the last 25 soloq survivor matches, I have escaped 19 times (5 by hatch, 1 of which the killer gave me). However, I can see what makes people believe it's worse since the 2 games which stand-out are when a Wraith and Huntress got extremely pissed-off and smacked me persistently on the hook.
However, for the other losses and wins the trials have been tough, yet fun. When putting into perspective, it's been enjoyable.
My guess is that some do indeed have real bad luck in matches or are screwed by the system. However, I feel most are either: a). Focused on the negative experiences too much, b). Lying to try and influence BHVR to change aspects of the game, c). Protecting their ego, d) Brought it upon themselves by being toxic or e). Trolling.
Again, there will be some who have just the worst luck and I would feel for them. At some point I am definitely due some real ######### luck! However, I do feel it's just a bunch of amateur dramatics.
You expect us to believe that you have a 76% survival rate as a solo survivor?
-
This is the majority of my games these days. 1 guy gets hard tunneled and lasts about 10 seconds per chase, other 2 survivors struggle to find a generator. Lose at 3 or 4 gens.
-
@CorvusCorax86 said:
It's difficult to factor that in when you win a chase (as per the feedback from the game) but your killer decided to abandon you because you are nowhere near a gen. Or if it's, let's say, Legion you are facing who always looks for another target. In such a match you "win" a lot of chases.
They could balance that around time spent in chase surely. If the killer chases you for 40 seconds and you dont go down (aka you win the chase) that would be tallied at the end towards your score.

This guy predicted Nicholas Cage would be a survivor in DbD 4 years ago lol. When memes become reality.
-
Bond, Open Handed, Vigil and Sprint Burst is my go-to build at the moment. Hard countered by Mindbreaker but not many people run that.
-
The game population is pretty stagnant, we're at where we were 3 years ago. Despite the improvements to the tutorial and some of the things for new players, there is still the glaring matchmaking issue which has deteriorated imo. The rank system was by no means perfect and had significant gaps between rank 1-2 players however the current random MMR has a tendency to chuck 2 noobs with 2 decent survivors against a noob or decent killer. The games feel more like stomps on either side now.
-
"I´m coming from 5 defeats in a row... 3 thousand hours playing this game"
Not gonna lie, this sounds like a skill issue to me. Is your MMR inflated?
-
It carried killers to wins they didnt deserve worse than the first iteration of ruin, won't be missed by me.
-
Matchmaking is useless at the best of times. Why bother 'trying' when you will likely die the vast majority of your games anyway.
-
Possibly hacking. Have seen a few subtle ones lately. Had a Spirit whizzing from person to person so I tested something. Spirit downed a survivor across the map, I walked to a locker nowhere near a gen and got in it before survivor was hooked. Spirit came all the way to the locker and picked me out of the correct one with a remarkable display of skill. Had no aura reading perks and yellow addons.
At the end of the day though it's just one game out of many, just queue for the next :)

DBD would be casual friendly if all the perks were unlocked straight from the start. This is however not the case and it takes forever to get them. Sure, looping takes some skill but that is about it. I don't think a completely new player would do badly in that situation after a couple of games.
To be honest it gets less casual friendly each time they add in 6 new perks and a new killer power regardless because a new/casual player will have a harder time absorbing this information compared to someone who plays frequently.
When I started there were 7? killers with unique powers and maybe 100 perks per side.
-
I've tried multiple times to get friends into DbD but its always the same nonsense. They do the tutorial, then get tunnelled out of a few games and never play again.
8 have played DBD in the past 2 weeks, 5 of which likely played for 1 game session. 37 other friends haven't touched the game.
I logged in to DBD and I have 0 friends in game. Introduced 2 friends to DBD in June 2022, they both last played on the 23rd of July 2022 lol. I'd love to hear from new players what made them stick to the game.
-
The system doesn't really work and the majority of the playerbase is in the same matchmaking pool.
Typically I'm matched with survivors who have anywhere from 80 - 10 000 hours played, same with killer.
When the queue is longer than 30 seconds on either side it just throws whatever it can find, so if you have a survivor bonus expect to get survivor players with wildly different skill levels to yours and to lose a lot. When it switches to Killer bonus in the evening expect to face AFK Killers or killers who miss basic attacks constantly.
If you are facing babies as Trapper just play for a few more hours (maybe a week or 2) and you'll get put into the big pot with the bulk of the playerbase. Or play in the evening where you'll be fed to the wolves so to speak.
-
Ormond is my fave to play as an offering, especially after the game 'randomly' decides I need to play Midwich 3+ times in a row. Bright map, some fun loops with the snowplow & south tiles.
-
Yes.
Also players from West EU like Ireland shouldn't be matched with players from South Africa or far east Siberia.
-
I used to play it because my friends played it.
They have all pretty much stopped playing it so I've been playing it to finish the rift and not much beyond that. Kinda burnt out at the moment, playing <2 hours per day these days just for the archive challenges.

I've been watching some streamers recently, and I've got the tempo down now where I'd say, with Empathy, I can predict the Eruption somewhat accurately maybe 60% of the time, and very accurately maybe 35% of the time. At worst, I'm wasting a few seconds here and there, and now only get caught out when it's a Ghostface or I guess wrong.
I'm confident that with a week more's practice, I'd have that up to 50%/75%.
Why weren't you just letting go premptively? A Knight can't instadown. The person being chased should be able to run a Knight miles away from that 3gen. And if he's not chasing and only defending...well, that's a hostage situation, which is a very different discussion.
But that's the unfortunate thing. Solo queue is tough right now, but the game cannot be balanced around solo queue, and with how stupidly fast gens move right now against a HSPF team, you're just going to move to every game being PR+DMS, until those get nerfed for being too commonly used.
We back to this use empathy to guess when survivors go down malarkey? if they're across the map how do you know how much longer they could possibly last in chase? Could be a strong tile.

Why should it be tied to a post-hook sytem? Are survivor gen perks tied to something?
You realize that pre buff, the perk was basically considered useless by everyone.
Fast Track is tied to hook states like Pop.

I would rather do 10 solo queue games than a single game of Killer against a SWF toxic squad.
This is not even a comparison.
There's losing (Aw shucks. We lost), and then there is being personally humiliated for 10 minutes straight.
Given you don't know the difference between Eruption and Pain Res you clearly don't play Survivor at all, so you must run into the occasional toxic SWF squad.

What?
10% of the DBD player population are using a cheating software...
This means that every 2-3 killer matches there will probably be a survivor who is cheating.
Where is this 10% figure from?
-
they should freeze the screen and drop the FPS to like 2 so PC players can get the console skillcheck experience, would make greats feel more rewarding.

You really jumped to conclusions lol I do win most of my matches. And not all swfs are good, but a lot are.
I simply wanted to see if others felt the same as me. No need to be rude. Just because people don’t like swfs, doesn’t mean they’re not good killers. I’ll custom match you anytime, and we’ll see who’s good and who “isn’t that good.” 😉
If you win most of your matches are SWFs really that big of a problem? 🤔
-
Lots of factors go into it.
If you know the slug is being camped then look around the map, open chests do totems etc.
If you are being slugged and camped don't move or move side to side quickly to say 'no'. If it's early in the game and you haven't got many points (5 gens up etc.) just disconnect. It's a 1 minute penalty vs 4 minute bleed-out.
-
Happened to me when playing Billy earlier (I'm UK based). Survivors from Czech Republic were affected.
I played survivor and 3 other survivors + killer were affected (Killer DCed).
-
If you play in places like Portugal or Ireland it matches you with killers from South Africa and Far East Siberia. It's completely moronic honestly.
The only way you should get a lobby with a red ping killer is if you join the lobby of a friend playing from a region far from your own.
We already know there is some level of separation as EU players are not mixed in with the NA, CN, KR or OCE queue by default but the EU queue is far too broad and leads to this lag issue.

@TAG said:
Question that's always been on my mind: How does one make a killer that is strong, fun for both sides, and not heavily reliant on anti-loop?
Give them a chainsaw.
If you juke a billy or bubba it can be fun as survivor. If you get a saw down with billy or bubba it can be fun as killer. When a Billy curves around a loop and gets you, or the bubba chainsaws around the loop backwards and gets you, you gotta respect the skill in that. Oni, Demo and Pig are similar in that regard. Any Pig that gets me with a dash at a loop outplayed me and I respect that.
I'd add Spirit and Blight but it depends on what add-ons they run as they are significantly easier and have busted addons.
Knight, Artist, Nurse, Pyramidhead, Nemesis, Trapper and Hag don't get the same respect from me at the typical pallet loop and I don't consider them as fun to face.

Recently? Detective Tapp. He's not obnoxiously loud and has some nice cosmetics.
