  • You’re making the right choice, if the game isn’t fun, just don’t play. I however as a solo survivor main (but will play with friends and also play a lot of killer) am having a lot of fun with the game. Have done since it was first released on console and ever since Ohmwrecker started uploading day 1. Yeah the toxic side of the community make the game annoying sometimes. But what game doesn’t have a toxic side to their community? It’s just something you either have to deal with, or not take part of entirely. We hope to see you back in the fog someday!

I think this would be fine if the following conditions also applied, just off the top of my head, obviously numbers are placeholder:

    1. If the revived hex had no timer (like Ruin), its effect will continue to be applied for 60 seconds.
    2. If the revived hex had a timer (like Haunted Grounds) the timer will be halved and will continue to be applied until the halved timer expires.
    3. Token-based hexes will lose 1 token and then continue to be applied for 60 seconds. (Kind of a weird roundabout solution for getting Devour Hope down from Mori power, but not completely destroying lesser token-based Hexes like Huntress Lullaby.)
    4. If the hex was NOED, the killer instantly dies.

I just see the killer dropping dead like when Jason would DC from Friday.

I meant from the very beginning it would be hypocritical that Undying/Ruin get a nerf while DS/UB would still be unchanged for 2-3 years.

    DS has been changed.

  • @CashelP14 said:

I don't think it needs nerfed. Though I'd say solo survivor would be horrible with that combo since you can't share information or coordinate anything.

Still believe they should add a totem counter.

    Detectives hunch?

    small game?

one offers you totem locations when a gen is finished, the other offers you totem locations when you get close to one. I think those are already pretty fair.

  • it’s nice to cage someone so the 3 survivors with flashlights are useless now, and if for whatever reason you wish you be a tunnelling douchebag you can avoid DS easily.

and then most survivor perks to do with hooking/unhooking are now void.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/194097/spinechill-if-i-could-remove-one-perk-from-the-game

for once I agree lets remove all perks and effects that give away to much information, and hurts being stealthy players so we can get rid of Spine chill, OoO,BBq&chilli Undying and we can remove killer instinct from base kits etc lets do it bring back the stealth game. after that lets nerf all aura based add ons and so on for both sides....... with as many aura crutch type perks around killers to let them know exactly where survivors are at you want to get rid of the one decent detection perk survivors have. it don't even give them an aura of where the killer is it its just hey the killer is looking in your direction.

It’s quite funny honestly. Spine chill has screwed me more times than helped me.

what’s that? The killer is coming. Okay better leave! Oh. I left in the direction they’re from? Mannnn.

  • Either Git Gud, or stop playing. At the very least. Stop complaining about it 😂

  • Y’all remember that they got rid of showing you other players ranks because people would just leave right? They’re not going to try and give you a reason to leave the lobby. Just something we have to deal with.

  • Yet another way a survivor is punished for being slugged.

  • I honestly can’t understand why so many people think No Mither is trash, every killer slugs for the 4K, You remove that option by having NM, and it’s saved me waaaay more than Unbreakable ever has. I use No Mither in about 4 of my main perk builds, and only one of them is for the memes.

  • @EmpireWinner said:

No, slowdown bug makes him horrible to play as

Red ranks are full of garbage players. Wouldn't be surprised if you get a 4k with him

So to get to red ranks, I need to be a bad player?

  • @MrPenguin said:

if they do this they should add a short aura reading, or at the very least a notification when someone gets pulled out the cage. Knowing where the cages are is a good tool to guess the survivors next move when they get pulled out, so a different form of that would be fine.

That’s a somewhat good idea. His cages aura should always be revealed to him. And then a sound notification of someone being rescued. Meaning he could always end up at the wrong one. It’s a chance game at best.

How will you know ,,they only meant to save time"?

Besides that, getting survivors tormented can take way longer than hooking.

Also just because some players use it to tunnel, it doesnt mean he deserves a nerf. That like you would want to nerf leatherface because he can camp too easy.

Leatherface being leatherface is a nerf as is. That’s why I always see people run Micheal perks on him.

Being a better player, killer or survivor, makes you the power role. This game is not auto win. It’s a trial.

I think being a power role killer includes understanding and avoiding being DS’d or just eating the stun and winning despite.

I’ve always said back before DS was changed not to bother dribbling and just eat the DS as it just removes it from play completely.

Nice looking map, but bad gameplay

Buggy chapter launch, as always sound issues

Killer that is OP to one half of the community and not strong enough to the other half

Sounds like a DBB patch to me

As a survivor main who plays killer in a blue moon, I actually enjoy how he is in the game. In Silent Hill other than being a nuisance, he’s not really all that. So it’s nice to have a game that finally brings him to life. Maybe it’s biased. Maybe I’d take P.Head as a legion power type just have him in the game. I’m not sure why I enjoy him. But I’m also not sure what kind of changes I’d do to him.

The only way this can be "abused" is if the killer decides to stay next to the hook! LOL!

Or, You can have one person fake the save for all of that time. Keeping the killer there for probably about 5-10 mins. Meanwhile. All gens have been done, and the dude on the hook is literally nowhere even near being on second state. Granted for anyone that’s smart that wouldn’t be any issue whatsoever. But about 5% of players that play the game are smart. So that’s a pretty big percentage swinging the other way!

  • its funny how everyone is saying that is just Cheryl cosplaying as her, When you can say the same about some of the killers.

you think Micheal just wants to stare at people and throw them on meat hooks?

you think Leatherface would enjoy standing in a basement for most of his life?

you think Freddy would rather be the remake version of himself?

its a skin. And not even a good one at that, so why bother complaining about it?

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

    Another immature thread.

There are other ways of providing feedback on someone you didn't like. It's really simple really.

Yeah, it’s just a shame that it’s never listened to though huh?

  • I once saw a post justifying people who tunnel people with keys. “If someone wants to leave the game early, I’m going to give them what they wish for”. Which, honestly. I kind of deem as fair, when it comes to end game time area, you can’t keep an eye on both doors and the closed hatch, and even if you can, the killer is probably going to be running NOED to complete that little combo.

  • You start the game. With nothing... you work to get your rewards. You want good stuff? Play the game and unlock it. You’re not going to be given everything for free when people have spent thousands of hours playing.

same as Call of Duty. You don’t get a gun. With everything on it. You level up the weapon by using it. You level up your level. By playing the game.

if you’re going to get everything just for buying the game, then there really isn’t much point in playing.

the game is nothing but grind. You get your points. You level up. You get rewards. You use your rewards in game. But hey ######### it. Let’s just have rewards for nothing and bring them into the game not having to do a single thing to get them.

they have made it easier over the years for new players. You used to get NOTHING. But now at least you start off with the characters own personal perks. Which I feel like they should change to make everyone’s teachable perks be at least level 3 at all times. It doesn’t make much sense that people who are the expert of something. Doesn’t even know how to do it well. That’s probably my only complaint about being a new player.

everything else is rather fair. Just buy the game around the 13th for rank reset and there will be more players in the brown ranks.

  • So basically what you’re saying... is that you’re going to play the game... the way it was meant to be played... however you like, Good for you.

  • @ohheyitsbobcat said:

Pretty much everything @Sleephartha has said.

There are so many different variables to consider when going for an unhook. Yes, some people don't care and just yolo them but look at all the things to potentially consider.

-Has the killer been campy or do they have a small terror radius. Do they patrol a bit before leaving?

-Do I have borrowed if the killer comes back?

-Are in you in the basement? Are multiple people in the basement?

-What hook state am I on vs what one are they on if I have to yolo save?

-If I'm on a gen, how far along is it? How many gens are done? How many people are dead? Will the gen spawn hatch is someone is dead?

-Does the killer have an instadown? Am I injured? Do I have iron will to be sneaky? Am I the only one injured? Am I the only one healthy?

-Are other people potentially going for the unhook via kindred site?

-Is someone looping the killer around the hooked person?

-Does the killer have a mori?

The list goes on and while I appreciate being saved or at least the attempt, I understand if others things are happening that prevent it, even if I don't see it. Do some people just not save you and you get 1-hooked for no reason? Sure do but most of the time there are reasons why you didn't get saved, even if it's as simple as "I thought someone else was going for it" which majorly sucks but happens.

I actually had a guy get really mad at me a couple days ago for not trying to save him when we were the last two. I was injured, he was on the other side of the map and the killer was patrolling around me. I just kind of sat in place waiting for him to die and hoping for hatch (that hadn't spawned in yet) because I had no way to get to him. If I yolo ran, I was dead. If I tried to sneak, I wouldn't have made it in time; he was halfway through 2nd state and I would have potentially exposed myself for no reason. There was simply no way I could get to him and after he died, the hatch spawned and I was able to get out which pissed him off even more.

So again, it's nice to see an attempt but there is a time and place to do it properly without hurting the team. The people that just don't unhook for no reason, yeah those teammates suck.

It seems that my go to perks involve Kindred and Borrowed time. Borrowed time not only helps campers. But can also prevent Make Your Choice AND Devour Hope. What sucks though is about 4/10 times my borrowed doesn’t activate and they’re left to be slugged and just me trying to bring the killer away from the downed surv and for the surv not to have DS and slapped straight back on the hook. I play on console so there isn’t really a way to apologise for that unless they decide to check out perks after death to see that i DO have BT and it just didn’t work. I feel bad for the victims of failed BT

  • Now I ain’t about to judge these survivors, yourself or the killers for what’s happening to you as ranks don’t particularly matter in this game. It seems that you’ll get at least one scrub in every game wether it be one of the survivors or the killer themself (unless you’re in a full rank 1 SWF lobby) and it seems like you’ll often get that one person just hoping to never doing anything just hoping they can find the hatch or get out of the door when the time comes to it.

I myself have reached purple ranks twice and don’t see any need to go further. Purple seems to be the best balance of getting some fun in. Maybe dying here and there but more often than not I’m actually enjoying the game instead of just playing it. But at the same time I’m probs half of the people you mentioned here just because I can’t hit my hex skill checks. Maybe 1/5 times I’ll get it. But at the same time. I’d stick to the gen rather than looking for Ruin as most times it seems like thats all everyone does and nothing gets done except unhooks (if you’re lucky) what sucks most about purple ranks is as this person has said. You’ll be left on hook more often as most people just lose all sense of what to do when someone is hooked. You see 2 people urbaning around the outskirts of the map and one person looking through chests until they have the exact item that allows you to rescue the person from the hook faster! (Which clearly doesn’t seem to spawn for whatever reason, hence why they never come and rescue you)

  • With the balanced landing “nerf” I feel like the Thompson house is a safe bet to have a rework if anything. One way up and down isn’t exactly what we’re all hoping for. Except maybe a Trapper

  • Just run Pop goes the weasel instead. I too run both sides and Ruin is pretty much only good for brown to green ranks or for hex roulette. Or huntress lullaby is even better than ruin.

  • but He won’t be in his power unless the person on the hook is a total scrub. Meaning he is detectable.

I'd be happy to trade some if I could. Again, I am not opposed to saving. Just opposed to unsafe saving that results in no chances to escape.

I made a post on Reddit earlier this year about making a way for first hook survivors being able to not be taken off of the hook due to trolly survivors wanting to unhook you so they can have the killer knock you back down and re hook you and they gave themselves a nifty little getaway. No borrowed time. No body block if anything they even try and stand where they figure you’re going to run so then no matter what they end up going for you instead of them.

  • It’s called camping and using your power. It’s essentially basement bubba (and no not the fun Monto kind. It’s more of the No0b3 kind). And it’s actually a pretty good strat unless the hooked surv has Kindred.

  • Im sorry, You’re finding survivors who rush to get the save? Can you direct them to me? I’m sick of being chased for 10 mins to die first hook to a (surprisingly) non camping killer.

  • A lot of perks will counter like. One killer. Urban Evasion renders the hag useless. I only keep it on my Kate. And almost every time I play as Kate. I get a Hag. It’s pretty funny.

  • But still. 3 survivors brought in a key to the game. It’s right there in the picture.

No they have said so many times camping is a strategy a bad one but a strategy and wont ever be punished stop complaining and move on to the next game. P.S with your logic they should also make it so if you body block or camp a hook for a save you get 0 bloodpoints. And immediately sacraficed.

It’s already being punished. The closer you are to the hooked survivor. The less bloodpoints you get.

Ruin gone in 5 seconds impossible? There's so many games where I spawn in, start walking to my ruin, and it's gone before I can even get to it. Happens especially often on the Yamaoka Estate.

Then it just wasn’t meant to be my friend. Set it free!

  • so what I’ve picked up on here. Is that you want the killer to get weaker the better he does.

  • @LushyBunny said:

And ds'ing after I down and hook someone else is fair? 4 perfectly safe loops back to back is fair? 3 gens in 80 seconds is fair? Ruin gone in 5 seconds is fair? God loops on atleast 70% of the maps? Borrowed time is fair? No.

    Borrowed time. 100% fair.

ruin gone in first 5 seconds. Impossible.

“god” loops are counterable and are indeed not on 70% of the maps.

being DS’d is fairer now. It’s a lot more fair to the killers than it is for survivors.

3 gens in 80 seconds is your own fault for focusing on survivors more than the gens.

these types of killer mains is what really get me. You know it’s not the killers job to kill right!? It’s to prevent. Stop wasting your own time hunting down survivors you clearly can’t catch. And stop them from doing the literal ONE objective they have to do. It’s not that complex.

want ruin to last longer. Run thrill of the hunt. Look after your totems better. But frankly. It just keeps going back that you just need to patrol gens better.

literally no point you made was valid and most of it was false.

so think of that before I’m called a sweaty survivor main like usually happens on here and Reddit. Because I’m really not one.

  • @kengee said:

It's not about rank lol. It's about closing the gap between solo and swf for future balancing.

So what you’re saying is. You want the perks to be good enough that would make a one man survivor better than a 4 SWF team!? Do you have any kind of idea what they would have to do to many killer perks to balance that out? Every killers M1 would have an auto insta down.

  • 73907517-308E-4C2E-A9DE-33AD3BBACD7C.jpeg

According to what I was able to find online, the Nightmare Edition will include three DLCs: Curtain Call, Shattered Bloodline and Stranger Things. So no Cursed Legacy, as far as I can tell.

Apparently, the physical retail copy also includes the Headcase, 80s Suitcase, Bloodstained Sack, Of Flesh and Mud and Spark of Madness "addons". I'm not entirely sure what it means by the Of Flesh and Mud and Spark of Madness "addons", as opposed to "chapters", but as far as I'm aware there is no content by that name aside from the chapters themselves so I suppose they're included as well 🤷

Thanks a lot for the info!

I seriously doubt that lol. In fact i think i remember reading that the devs balance the game in favor of survivors because there needs to a bigger pool (which isn't something i necessarily disagree with but not to the degree in which they do it because it takes away the eliminate of fear)

Im assuming you're getting owned? Do gens. Even if you aren't very good you want to be a higher rank because higher rank means better teammates

I’ve not seen anything like that. So forgive me. And honestly thinking of taking another year long break at this point. Because maybe by then they’ll have gotten rid of rank reset. Every time it happens I’m just met with the worst possible teammates but all the killers have come from rank 1 😂

Don’t worry dude. They’re fixing it. 90% of the dev team are killer mains. So if you can expect a fix on anything. It’ll be something that prevents the killers from getting that 4K
