I'd argue that this effect can STILL be circumvented entirely.
Yes, it's good for a sneak-up scenario on a Survivor, but all they have to do is run to a pallet, walk for 3 seconds/stand in place on the far of the loop, and than activate Sprint Burst by running away. At the end of the day though, if you can make use of a perk that's not entirely used, than more power to ya ha ha.
But in the case of THAT being the biggest obstacle for stealth Killers... i'd have to disagree. It's only an issue for someone like Wraith who has to uncloak, for Myers, Ghostface, and The pig, they can just walk up and hit you without anyone even noticing until it's too late, the only case where this is an issue is when they see you before-hand. But again, they could just run to a nearby window/pallet, stand or walk for 3 seconds, and than Sprint Burst away.
at the end of the day though...
You're not here to debate that with me, i'm just giving my opinion on it, whether you care or not is up to you. If there's nothing around for a Survivor to use, than I can see this working yeah, but if they didn't have Sprint Burst in the first place than... why use it?
Mindbreaker is kind of niche with how it works, I personally only see it working with pre-existing exhaustion builds that some Killers can utilize with their add-ons, since working on Generators under 50% will stop your exhaustion timer from decreasing.
Hey, debating is fun : )
But anyways, I thought it might also be useful in countering dead hard. You'd have to keep up the pressure to try keeping them from stopping to get rid of exhaustion, but it's not something I've tested allot yet. I agree though that's it's probably best used on other killers like clown for longer exhaustion times. I did pair the perk with exhaustion add-ons for portals, and add-ons that make destroying portals take allot longer. They seem to waste more time really attacking those portals more than normal. Putting one in my totem to keep them from sprinting away seemed to work too. I don't know, I'll keep tinkering with it. Just trying to mix things up as little.

That's probably the best you can do with it on Demogorgon exclusively, but where it really shines is with Killers like The Clown or Huntress who have exhaustion add-ons.
Any Killer with an exhaustion add-on will work, but applying an exhaustion debuff WITHOUT forcing them to use the exhaustion perk itself will limit their recovery while working on Generators, since Mindbreaker pauses the exhaustion recovery speed for any Generator that's under 50% progress. Your best bet is to use it in a 4-3 gen scenario, since that'll offer you the best "bang for your buck" in terms of how practical the perk is. If you use it outside of this scenario it's not really that great... someone like The Doctor might get use out of it in his 3 gen build, or anyone who uses exhaustion add-ons like The Pigs Slow release toxic, The Clowns Solvent Jug, or The Huntresses Berus Toxin/Venomous Concoction.
If you look around for other exhaustion add-ons on other Killers than that should work as well, but these are the three Killers that come to mind at the moment.
So maybe for the demogorgon,I need to use those add-ons that put the exhaustion status effect for anybody on a portal, and place portals directly on the last few gens. That's probably the best use with him. Thanks for the ideas though!!

I just think demo should not make a global sound when he's teleporting. It kinda ruins the purpose of the stealth he gains coming out of the portal.
Agreed. I still think his shred could use some sort of extra help. Maybe let him turn at the end of the thrash so he could better manage pallet loops.

Truthfully, its the attitude of killer mains nowadays.
Having played since release I've seen killer get easier, survivor get harder. FULL STOP.
Infinites gone, vaulting/perk/map/pallet nerfs, bloodlust added, end game timer added, hatch close added. All this has made being killer easier and survivor harder since release.
2 escapes, 2 kills is the devs unit of metric. You don’t have to like that but it’s whats given the survivors all their nerks and all the killers current buffs.
You look at the SB vs. NOED debates that happend at release all those years ago. SB now is mediocre at best where as NOED is still a high tier perk.
Killers now are up around 70% kills due to the trajectory of the game and the devs metric system, unless you feel their metric system is bad, in which case they can undo all the changes I've just mentioned....
It's only been recently that killers have started getting push back from devs because the state of the game is disconnecting survivors who know a game is going to end in a 4k so why bother for 3k BP.
And what do we see? Thread after thread recently of killers whining. People talk about salty survivors alot in this forum but ignore the elephant in the room.
The worst part about comments like this is that you completely ignore that there have been nerfs to killers/buffs to survivors in the past as well. You make it sound like it's been completely one sided since the start, and it hasn't. And some of the things you mention HAD to be done for the health of the game, such as the end game collapse. The collapse wasn't added to benefit killers or nerf survivors. It was added to keep the game from being held hostage by players who got off on trolling and bullying others. And frankly, it's been beautiful.
Anyways, like i said. The devs have been doing the best they can with balancing am asymetrical game that gets new, game altering mechanics added to it every few months. Not only that, but the skill ceiling in this game continues to climb as both killers and survivors get ridiculously good at this game. Far beyond what the devs probably could've imagined. Balance in an environment like that is really hard to maintain.
It's perfectly fine to disagree with their choices. But ignoring one side of the story and complaining that one side has been the sole victim, well it just doesn't do much for your credibility.

I play killer off and on, going between killer and survivor pretty often, and every time I play killer I get a merciless 4k, and I also show TONS of mercy in every match. I really don't understand why so many people find killer to be so difficult. Then again, I play on PS4, and about 95% of all survivors are complete potatoes. But still, even in matches where I get 4 man SWF, and they're all good at looping and hiding, I get a merciless 4k, while also showing mercy. Am I just the best player ever, or is killer really not that hard? I think the latter.
To quote the great Ron Burgundy, "I don't believe you." Of course if you're sitting at ranks 12-20 or something, I could see that then.

I'll see your one shoulder grab glitch and raise you another. Survivor opening the exit gate. Last alarm hasn't even sounded yet. First grab animation happens, stuck for three seconds work my hand on hey shoulder. Encouraging her. Yeah you open that gate!! You got this!!! Animation cancels and i go back to normal. I try again. Again, stuck frozen with hand on her shoulder. Last alarm goes off. Gate opens. I reset back to normal again.
This isn't a latency/ split second ping issue. This wasn't a quick grab at a window that our two consoles couldn't agree on the timing for. This happened over the course of about 10 seconds. It's a bug and I wish they'd fix it.
-
I hear ya man. All I can say is find popular killer streamers on twitch and read around the forums for tips. I know I've started a couple of threads getting advice from people recently on perk builds, specific killer strategies, etc. In the last month my killer game has excelled greatly and I was on a consistent track to red rank before the resets. Pretty sure I'll get there this time before the next reset. There's plenty out there teaching this game, and they're helpful.
It's also important to keep a cool head, and take a break when you can't. When i occasionally am getting stomped and I'm down to the last gen with only one hook, i just go to an exit gate and open it as soon as the last gen goes. I put my killer in a corner and set the controller down for a couple minutes while i get a snack or play with my doggos. End have collapse and being able to open a gate is one of the single greatest things to happen to this game because it allows you to end the game when it gets rough. This game definitely is balanced in favor of survivors currently, but it's still possible to succeed in high ranks. You just gotta remember it's only a game, keep a cool head, know when to take a break, and just brush off the losses. And try not to focus too much on that little rank number. Adds more unneeded stress sometimes.
-
I don't know if try hard is the right word. I could hardly blame a killer for dropping a survivor and chasing another survivor when their hook gets sabod in front of them and they don't think they have time to make it to another one. I wouldn't call that try hard. I'd just say that's the smart/logical thing to do.
As for moris and stuff, I never use them. The only time I'd mori someone is if I'm running DH or rancor. You have to work a little more for a mori in those cases. But I think there's plenty like me that don't bring a mori offering because killing everyone right away just isn't fun and doesn't yield much for blood points.
Even though i play more killer right now (due to survivor lobby wait times) I'm looking forward to the meta changing up a bit. Keeps things fresh. Plus imma be busting through walls pretty soon like "oh yeah!!!" So bring on the sabo meta >: )
-
I don't think they realize just how much had changed in this game in terms of player skill. So many survivors are at such a high skill level the game has become unbalanced. And it's not the player's fault honestly. But the devs haven't done a good job of adjusting or adapting to that over the years. I play both survivor and killer and I can tell you I've gotten to the point where i just don't want to play killer anymore. And i know I'm not the only one. Lobby wait times are a testament to that as more killers just give up and start playing survivor all the time. Overall i feel like I'm going to be spending time on other games for a while until I see an update come out down the line that makes some significant changes.

First off I don’t know if you are implying gen rushing isn’t real or if you don’t know what real gen rushing is? While people use gen rushing for survivors who do gens fast, real gen rushers are those who do nothing but sit on gens. So gen rushers will try their best to not go for hook saves, slug pick ups, get chased , etc. These are players who ruin the game for both killers and survivors.
Secondly I agree that by the time you are in middle of a match and hopefully have some map pressure and less gens to protect, gen speeds are a lot more reasonable. The problem people have with gens are the beginning when they have no pressure at all on the map and the lack of pressure means the easier it is for people to sit on gens. The speed of the early gens can cause killers to be forced to have to resort to scummier tactics like slugging and yes 3 gening, but playing the 3 gen is boring as a killer and is determined by how the gens are set up by the survivors. Most good survivors will realize when they have done more gens on one side of the map then the other and will try to avoid a three gen situation.
Finally, no one really cares for the emblem system at all at this point as it’s a dumb, inconsistent system for a rank that doesn’t matter now and will be even more irrelevant with the upcoming changes.
My last match finally pushed me over the edge and I'm done playing killer for now. Period. By the time I straight walked to the other side of the map where the survivors were on gens, two popped. And by the time I downed someone after that happened, 3rd gen done. My other matched today weren't as ridiculous as that, but they were still pretty bad with gen speeds. Back in the early days of this game it wasn't this big of a deal because nobody was freakishly good at this game. Nowadays the skill ceiling has gotten real high and i don't think BHVR has really been able to keep up with that or adapt the game to that. All I know is something needs to change.

That is why I was asking if you use Rat's liver at all, it makes you move at or just over 100% move speed when charging shred, that reason you just mentioned is why it's considered his best addon by far even though it is a brown.
I must've completely missed that. My bad. I'm gonna try using that more. Thanks!!!

If you use Rat Liver, your speed while charging Shred is 101%, this means you dont lose distance, it remains the same. So you can bait Shreds all the time, just like with Huntress
Ooo I'll have to give that a shot

Actually on most loops Shred is effective if not for getting a hit, to at least make survivors drop the pallet earlier, and often destroy it more quickly. Most of the times fakes are enough for that.
I think if you're chasing a survivor straight into a pallet that works the way you say it does. But when you going around an object in a circle, and you try to charge shred as you come up to a pallet, the survivor sees that and just continues running the loop because charging shred slows you down and they know they have enough time to make another trip around. honestly, if they just took away the slow down, or reduced it for demogorgon when he's charging shred, he would be able to manage loops like any other killer like doc or clown.

I mostly bait/cancel the stred attack to zone survivors from loops, depends on positioning though.
Oh shred is great for getting them before the loop. Whether it's a fake for the M1 hit, or catching then with shred. It's when they get to the loop that i have problems.

This is incorrect. I literally hit people with it in red rank SWFs using it that way all the time. If I am that close or the loop is so tight then obviously just act like any other M1 killer, but beyond that shred is insanely good as long as you don't mess it up.
If you want help but are just going to say "Nope it's useless" to someone who has like near 800 hours as JUST Demogorgon, who is saying the same thing that even the most prominent killer mains/streamers have said like Otz and them.... then why are you even asking here?
If you want to get good with demo you WILL have to learn how to land your shreds, sorry but that is just truth.
Easy there chief. Not all of us know of your prestigious skills with Demogorgon or the amount of hours you have in. So chill. I even said shred had it's place. Never said it didn't. But if you're getting looped around a circular object with as pallet, just holding forward like an "M1 killer" until they drop the pallet doesn't cut it. Because you know what happens after that? They just run to the next pallet loop. By the time you actually catch them, multiple gens have been done. Shred, which goes in a straight line, does not help around those kinds of loops. And some maps are worse than others with the amount of loops, pallets or no pallets. Freddy's maps are horrendous and I'm about to the point where I'm gonna start quitting those maps right from the start of I'm playing Demogorgon. Just out of curiosity, i such work chasing this survivor today through all the pallet loops it took to catch him. After 4 gens got done i just went to the exit gate and opened it for them after gen 5. And before you say that maybe I'm just not that good at the game, get at minimum 3k every game with ANY other killer.
I'm not sure why I'm not allowed to say that a certain suggestion you or someone else gave doesn't work. If you don't like it, than just don't comment. Leave it be. It's that simple

You hit them with shred, while playing like any other M1 killer tbh.
It's not that the solution is complicated, it's that it's very very hard to do, he has a pretty harsh learning curve. You basically can't miss any of your shred attacks, every-time you do it should either be a fake or when you KNOW you will hit.
Shred does nothing when they're running around a circular loop though. Shred has it's place, but when it comes to being looped around in a circle work windows or pallets, it's useless.

I get the different strategies with the portals, but HOW do you deal with all the crazy pallet looping. Those, along with all the second chance perks survivors have, they waste so much of my time.

Guess why q times are so long? Ranking up as survivor is too easy, swf matchmaking is ridiculous(Tofu put it best). There's probably more reasons to quit survivor than killer atm.
I couldn't disagree more. I don't main one side or the other. I like playing both and I can tell you playing killer is infinitely more frustrating than playing survivor. The gen rush is so bad I wish I could just play survivor until it's fixed, but the wait times are way too long to get a match. As long as ten minutes, sometimes longer. I literally have no stress when playing survivor. But playing killer makes me want to put my fist through my TV. And it didn't used to be like that for me, and I've been playing since the beginning. I've been here through all the changes since the beginning. From both my survivor point of view, and killer point of view, killers have much more reason to quit at the moment. No one wants to play killer and get dunked all the time, feeling like there's nothing they can do.
-
Demo is my favorite killer, but also my worst unfortunately. I would love to see those Portal changes. I also think letting him have some sort of control during his thrash move would help with breaking the painful loops he gets stuck in during chases. Allow him to curve his path a little during thrash, kind of like billy's chainsaw.
-
Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Using portals effectively is probably what I struggle with the most when playing Demo. I'll try out some if these ideas.

We won't have more fun when the queue times get even longer. :/
On console, I can't really play survivor anymore. Wait time is 99% of the time around 10 minutes. So I either play killer exclusively now on console, or I just shut the game off. You have a problem with your game if people are shutting it off before they can even play a match.
-
I've followed True and Monto for a while. I've been playing since the beginning so I'm good on allot of the earlier killers. It's some if the newer ones I need ideas for after life got a bit busier for me, cutting down my game time a bit. All these other suggestions will give me s good variety. Thanks again for the suggestions!!!
-
Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. Gives me a good place to start. Between work, family, etc, it helps to get ideas/tips vs trying to figure demo out from scratch. He's one of my favorites. Thanks again : )
-
I play both killer and survivor. I don't mind the change to ruin, but them ignoring the problem that causes so many people to pick ruin boggles my mind. I can find a game with killer in about one minute. A 5-15 min wait in a survivor lobby is staring at the screen makes me wanna play other games.
-
So when is the mid chapter update coming? They give a date yet? Super excited for as someone who plays both killer and survivor : D
-
Well it shows. It may not look as pretty as PC, but at least it was playable. Made me pretty happy because any of my friends that would play with me only play console. The latency and low fps kinda turned them off to the game when they first tried it. Kinda bummed me out cause I played PC since release and knew how awesome the game could be on console. Good to see they're making improvements.
-
I've posted a couple times in the steam forum about the framerate issue. I play mostly on PC, but I hop on PS4 sometimes to play with a friend. I'm by no means a graphics snob, so I don't care if the game doesn't look quite as shiny. But the low framerate on consoles actually has a real affect on gameplay. Especially when playing as the killer. There's times during quick turning that I physically cannot tell what's going on because it's such a blurry choppy mess. And isit not ping/connection related. I can tell the difference between lag and poor framerate. I only play killer on console now to get the daily challenge and that's it. If this game ran as smoothly on console as it does on PC, I'd probably play more of it on console.
Also the sensitivity and reaction of the joysticks could use some tweaking or smoothing out. It's not too bad with survivor, but it makes tracking while trying to land hits as the killer difficult. -
Can we please get a update on framerate issues for console? I play PC mostly, but have friends that play on PS4 from time to time that I'll hop on with. On PS4, the framerate is poor as survivor. And the framerate playing as killer can be near unplayable at times. For example, I'll hit survivors and they'll be impossible to track up close when they get their speed boost because the framerate is so bad and choppy. And tracking their movements leading up to a hit can be difficult with the low framerate as well.
Also, any possibility of controller settings getting smoothed out at all, especially for killer. Using a controller in DBD, especially as killer, is kind of rough.
Thanks, and keep up the great work!!!
