Started with Silent Hill! Not because of Silent Hill but I remember my first few matches being on Midwich and being terrified of everything…
-
I'd rather go against real people, even if they're beating me. Going against the bots doesn't feel interactive and I don't feel like I learn anything from chasing them too. I also don't appreciate people who kill themselves first hook, it ruins the fun of being the killer and I know it ruins the fun for the other survivors too
-
It shouldn't, so maps like Hawkins, Midwich and The Game you should just patrol the bottom floors. I remember a couple years ago the hatch would spawn sometimes on the upstairs of RPD but that's probably fixed by now. Maps with defined main buildings shouldn't spawn them on upper floors either.

ay np anytime
I can give more build suggestions if you want :D
Altho remember use that build on an indoor map cause the addon doesn’t work on outdoor maps
Sure, I would love some more build suggestions!

if you wanna try experimenting with perks on this killer
Here’s a fun build suggestion!
addonsObsidian goblet (this is a trash addon buts fun when you use it on an indoor map)
Mannequin foot
Perks
Tinkerer, trails, dragons grip and plaything
I came up with this build while I was messing around with the addons and coming up with random things
Thanks for the suggestion, I've been looking for builds that aren't just pain res + pop… I usually just use the builds Otz has on his website 😅

It's not really a gripe with the game itself (though I suppose it ends up being so as the game doesn't have much to prevent such behavior) but I get really mad when people waste the time of everyone involved.
I mean stuff like teabagging the whole 2 minutes at gates (Sure you can just push them out, but usually I just tab out and do other stuff while waiting for them to leave… So in a way I'm the one wasting their time :P), slugging an unhookable survivor instead of letting them wiggle off and "risk" them getting hatch, 4man slugs (skill issue etc), last 2 survivors hiding without touching gens… I'd say these are the main points that grind my gears.
Mechanic wise, getting hit by Oni 180s 🤯 And Billy's whiff recovery time 🤮 Are two of my biggest annoyances
Wesker's miss recovery time feels wayyy to forgiving but atleast its only 1 health state and not Billy's insta-down
-
Interesting! I thought it was a bad map because I felt survivors rarely loop back around to certain areas during chase. Also I feel like this map gets offered so often, probably doesn't help that there is that achievement to escape 20 times.
@ArkInk said:
You can drag the sword across many hallways to make them completely untraversable, so prioritize a few of those to lock down an area and you should be able to force a few torments. Also, Trail of Torment on RPD can give you at lot of sneak snipes
I've been having a lot of fun using trail. I wanted to try and stray away from meta builds and love experimenting with new perks especially on a new killer for me.

rpd is in his top 5 best maps
He’s pretty much the best zoner in rpd
If you have double range addons and using rights of judgment on the top floor between the 2 staircases you can guarantee a hit No matter what with how closed the space is
Also rpd is the only map that guarantees atleast 2 final judgments with how it’s a deadzones and survivors can’t avoid the trails….unless they crouch around them
Also there’s this dbd content creator who goes by the name of ohmals who said rpd is easily his best map
https://youtu.be/4i-OW9lT9yE?si=SOvN4yq93QaArfet
head to timestamp 13:10
He does a full explanation to why rpd is easily his best map
Will def check out this video! I'll mess around with some hallway trails.

Dark theory in its current state is not worth it. It's the only Boon that only has 1 effect compared to others and need a buff.
Since in theory it's a chase perk and I'd like to keep that theme. my buff would be:
• give 2,5 haste ( survivors movement 4,1 m/s )
• give 10% vaulting speed
• show the auras of Windows and downed pallets in range of the totem
Now this perk would be decent.
This is a real cool idea, I didn't realise it only had the one bonus compared to the others that have 2+. I almost wish it was 1% more but I think giving it a secondary things would be more beneficial
-
Yeah this guy is mad that he got juiced 1 time and came here to complain
-
You pair game knowledge with learned skills and decision-making and that's what sets apart the great players from the good and the bad. Looping doesn't require zero effort, you have to be mindful of many factors like bloodlust, pallets and windows available, killer powers and more. That's literally the most intense part of the game and where skill expression is shown the most.
-
The few times this happens I DC for everyones' sake but you shouldn't get in trouble for it
-
I want my Alan Wake icon
-
There is a difference between survivors who are good at looping, and those who struggle to loop well. It is a skill since it's something you learn through playtime, experience and learning from others. I get that maybe you don't like it but you can't deny the fact that there are people who are very skilled with that aspect of the game
-
Wouldn't this just make it a free win if you down or hook? I think it's in a fine spot but you could argue to increase the duration, but doubling it would maybe push it over the edge

Monstrous shrine, Nurses calling, and BBQ n Chili.

I've basically run out of BPS on all my characters so I have to resort to the more common Escape! Cakes 😓

Love how I open the forum to see someone experiencing the exact same thing I just went through 😅

Glad to hear that mate <3 I would take any Bubba, even if it was a basement Bubba. But these days you can only find Sable Wards in the basement :(
You've got to respect the commitment to the Basement Bubba bit... no one can touch his chest

Bubba. Sometimes I think I'm the only one playing him :'(
You're not alone!!!

I think it could be nice although I imagine it would give you less bp than it cost

I think the perk itself is fine. Issue to me is flash saves have been too loosened to the point they almost work 100% of the time.
I agree, the perk is fun to use and promote altruism, but I think the issue lies with how easy flashlight saves have become, and how flashbangs can just be placed at the feet of the killer instead of in front.
-
Hopefully it's changed by then :'(
-
Only time I've made it work is against Spirits and after blinding killers
-
I recommend a break! It's okay to stop for a bit and come back later. I often play DBD in ~6 month intervals, coming back when there is new or interesting content or I feel like I miss it. I get to stay in the loop since a lot of the times, DBD content is more fun to watch than play :D
-
I swear the frequency went up when the new event dropped...
-
Shattered Hope was made to counter boons... after boons became less effective. I feel like I rarely see boons in games anymore so this perk seems pretty useless. I think it would need a full rework, because it's wayyy too specific
-
Well as a killer leaving them slugged is the best option if you want to apply pressure. Putting them on hook causes you to lose all of that pressure. Leaving them down there and slugged still forces a teammate to go down there, and if they have unbreakable they still have to use that perk and spend the time picking up.
I don't think it's unfair to leave a Wicked user slugged, they know the possible consequences going into the trial
-
I don't think it would be necessary for solving an argument, but may be a nice thing just to know what your teammates are doing so you can react accordingly.
-
I like a good challenge. Easy games are no fun... either end too quickly or I just feel bad. No better feeling than persevering against an enemy that's put up a good fight, and comebacks are especially rewarding! Also you definitely learn the most from those tough games, especially the ones you lose.
-
Okay so for unlicensed survivors: Jake Park, Feng Min, Yui Kimura, Yun-Jin Lee
Yeah only one man!
-
Jake is an asian survivor

God I love Background Player so much it's so funny
This is so real 😭 hearing a survivor run at you from across the map at Mach 2 to burn your face off is terrifying. Survivors are scarier than killers most of the time

that's up to Iron Maiden themselves. Unfortunately, as the collection has already been put in, i doubt we'll get more skins. One can hope, though!
I imagine she'll get a Slipknot shirt, though, being new and pretty popular (at least in my experience.)
Slipknot shirt would fit her so well! She has to get one for sure 🙏

This one is more forgettable than West. The library is such a unique part of the map and fairly big part of RE2. All the sentiments about West Wing apply here... things are too cramped, pallets and windows are nothing crazy, and navigation can be tough.
-
Both RPD maps are tough... even with splitting it into two it takes a long time to cross, and those without prior or extensive knowledge about the layout will struggle big time. There are only a few good pallets, windows aren't anything crazy, looping isn't all that interesting and most killer's powers feel very limited by the cramped space.
This map is beautiful and it's nice to see something so accurate to the original, but that doesn't end up being practical for DBD. Stealth killers can have fun here, mobility killers can pull some moves off but are limited, and M1 killers sort of just suffer.
The library is obviously a lot more toned down than before... in fact I barely see it get used.
-
Surprisingly killer sided, which feels rare for an indoor map. The map is small enough to pressure a few gens at the same time and defend a 3-gen. The hallways are just giant deadzones, pallets are pretty much all unsafe and there aren't many places to hide. Mobility killers excelt on this map because of the clear hallways and M1 killers can still make things work because of the proximity of everything. Once the few good pallets are gone its GG for survivors
-
Making this map smaller was very needed. It's definitely more balanced now but still a bit skewed towards the survivor side. Some good pallets with high-wall loops that you have to bloodlust or break. The main building can get obnoxious to chase survivors around too. On the survivor side it feels pretty easy to chain together loops and play around that main building.

yeah i am on pc and do u know when will spring sales start?
Should start in a couple hours!
-
Back in the day when Midwich was released (about 4 years already!?) that map was the scariest thing to me.. ambient noises and scary moving things.
Nowadays some killers still get me: ghostface, plague (when stealthy), myers
-
We'll see what happens but i really hope we get to keep them this time around. I have a feeling this killer's popularity will drop soon after this release so we'll surely see less of the hate that we're seeing/hearing about now

yeah the killers are the selling point so they definitely need to be strong and unique. Behavior had did a good job in buffing them which the community have been asking for forever.
"Would love to see a change to weaving spiders! Maybe lower time to invoke?" Just by how powerful the effect is it's going to even be terrible or overpowering. i think it just need a different effect all together.
I see what you mean, maybe it is something that should be changed or stay underpowered. It's a bit of a dangerous game messing with something that has the potential to have this much influence on a match. Still a nice new side-questy thing to be explored :D
-
There are lots of ideas that sound great on paper (voice chat, ping system, auras) that sound good but might not work when applied. Voice chat would likely not be used as much as people think, pings and permanent aura-reading would be considered too strong.
I agree that blindness could use some work since most people don't run aura-reading (in my experience) and if they do it seems like most perks don't address/counter it properly.
I also agree that more HUD interaction display can help and I've seen plenty of people suggest loadout reveals. BUT like you said there would have to be something, maybe information based for killers so we don't have a riot in the community :')
I'm hopeful with time we will see the implementation of different ideas; when you think about it we've already come a long way!
-
I honestly think the killer is great from a survivor's perspective. I haven't gotten the opportunity to play him because I want to dump a lot of bloodpoints into him but the counterplay feels pretty good, in fact maybe a little too good? A good Unknown can really mess up a team and force a lot of pressure with well-aimed UVX shots. Haven't gotten a chance to check out his perks yet though. Power is cool :D

I'm definitely going to get both of the leather outfits for her. I wish they had an all white version of it. Maybe in a future rift perhaps. 😀
White would look great! With black or pink accents. I'm sure they'll give her alternate outfits given her popularity already.
-
Been rocking this! Default head with Flower & Lace torso and the Red Thigh-Highs from the Inner Monster outfit!
-
I've heard people theorize that it might give you challenges for the side you play less to incentivize people playing more of each side. But that could just be a theory.. or really bad luck! D:

As someone who like to rotate between killer swf and sometimes solo q i can say it pretty good right now. Solo q still feel like unplayable at times but balance wise the game feel alright. Definitely not peak tho
Behavior been buffing killers across the board and solving a lot of survivor issues (3 gen solutions, DCs bot, anti face camping)
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3674966#Comment_3674966
Wicked chapter been amazing. Unknown feel cool to vs and sable perks went from being terrible to kinda good. Weaving spider horrible still but not to bad overall
I also play both sides, and solo queue can definitely still be tough, but a lot of it comes with the mindset you play with! Of course your teammates might not be doing things optimally, or doing things at all, but I think it's important to focus on improving your own gameplay and just overall have fun :D.
Seeing killer buffs can be disappointing for some people but variety in killers is what keeps people coming back.
Also love this new chapter. I've seen lots of praise and of course some mixed thoughts but the marketing has been incredible, we get a cool looking survivor, and and awesome looking killer. Even if the killer power doesn't deliver on what a lot of people expected, the aesthetic is super cool! Would love to see a change to weaving spiders! Maybe lower time to invoke?

Anyways, what do you think are some of DBD's peaks?
2019 DBD before Freddy's rework was THE PEAK.
Right before I started playing! Heard that old Freddy was a lot more unique, hopefully they can bring some of his identity back in the future!

I agree with this for the most part. Anti-3gen and Anti-Facecamp killed two of of the games most unfun playstyles, although Proxy camping has become much more prevalent as a result.
Killer balancing is the best it's ever been imo, as most of the roster is at that "strong enough to be viable in capable hands, well designed enough to be countered" level. Whether or not all these killers are fun to face is a different storie, but the cast is the largest it's ever been and I've loved every new killer from Singularity onward to play as and against.
As well, I think a lot of their reworks have actually been right on the money, at least in regards to Billy and most of New Sadako (fight me grr).
Lots of changes to the meta with 3gen and camping changes which is definitely healthy stuff for the game. I don't know if there will ever be a way to truly get rid of camping whether it be face camping or proxy camping.
Yeah I agree maybe not everything is still great and fun to play against, but there have definitely been big steps taken to improve.
I also agree with the reworks part! I think we're seeing more consideration with killer powers, their identity and health of the game.

This is the best time to be playing Dead By Daylight (for killers)
Definitely lots of buffs to killer, but I play killer probably 60% and survivor 40% (solo too) and I don't really mind dying, maybe it's my approach to the game but I just love the chases and getting better every time :D
