I'm probably gonna get alot of hate for mine, but this is just a post for all of your unpopular opinions.

-Spirit is fun to play and verse, has limited but existing counterplay, and takes more skill than "hur de dur just have good headphones"

-Ruin/Undying overrated af. It's way too inconsistent, and I've had most of my games where Undying breaks first.

-Legion isn't easy and is way stronger than people give her credit for.

-The Hillbilly is boring to verse and annoying to play.

-NOED is not as strong as people say

-Knock Out is actually really strong

-Spine Chill is the best survivor perk in the game (other than perks like DS and Unbreakable that cover up your mistakes, but ######### those perks)

-DS should be base kit and not have a timer, but disables whenever you progress the game at all (like healing or doing gens)

-Unbreakable is the unhealthiest survivor perk in the game, and shouldn't exist

-Freddy isn't brain dead easy, but he isn't as difficult as any other killer

-Demo is the worst killer in the game

-Stealth is a viable tactic, but immersion is for potatoes

-Gideon Meat Plant (The Game) is a very fun map for both sides

    -Old Nurse was balanced

-Being bullied by toxic SWF is OK as long as they don't do generators

-Finishing a generator in the killer's face, especially with Adrenaline or DS, is punishable by malicious tunnel and facecamp

-DSing the killer even if they didn't tunnel is punishable by malicious tunnel and facecamp.

-Trapper players are the worst players, in relation to both their skill and how scummy they play. Only exception is Otzdarva, don't @ me.

-Rotten Fields is 10x worse than Haddonfield

I agreed with most of what you said except all the garbage about things being punishable by tunneling and face camping. There really is no plausible excuse to do any of that.

that bugs me too, it feels like sometimes I'm only one on the team actually playing the game and I'm the first to die for it.

as a killer I try not to farm but If I'm going for rift challenges I'll usually let the team know. and let them live. The games can be rough on both sides and everyone needs a break every now and then.

Right, I play in a party with 3 other survivors I know. So it's pretty ridiculous to see a killer kill one survivor typically by tunneling and face camping then letting everyone else live by farming. It just goes back to farm the entire match or play a normal match.

  • @MB666 said:

as a killer i only let peope farm if somebody is begin a j*rk and just suicide or DC on first hook by no reason(I hate this people)....,someone is a toxic sandbagger... otherwise i dont ....also if someone do something rlly and i mean RLLY funny that make me laugh so hard XD i will let him live. don't judge me XD

Yeah, that also is completely different from what I'm talking about. I swear reading comprehension skills on this forum are lacking. Go back and read my original post it clearly is about killers that kill one survivor then allowing the rest to survive. Nothing about that has anything to do with your excuses for why you decide to farm. It's pretty simple, farm the whole match or none of it.

  • @Marigoria said:

I've been on both ends of this (being the survivor killed and being left to farm) and it really leaves a sour taste. You either farm with everyone or you don't at all imo.

Unless you're killing a sandbagger or someone who is toxic, then fair enough.

Exactly! I have always heard that exact same thing and that's what I follow but it seems like less people know or understand that idea.

  • @Negi said:

You know it's a multiplayer game and you knowingly ruin the game for everyone else. It's selfish, plain and simple.

I would agree but if you disconnect because of a toxic killer or survivors then there should not be a penalty. Nobody wants to play with douchebag killers or survivors, which there is an increasing amount of.

  • @Jyn_Mojito said:

Sometimes it comes down to how you play. I've noticed that Killers won't farm with players that "bm"- tbag, clicky clicky flashlight, blendette, etc. Sometimes a survivor completely misses the signal from the Killer that they're farming friendly 🤷‍♀️

I try not to spectate any more myself because sometimes it just aggravates me to watch.

I'm starting to find these excuses comical for why a killer would kill one person then farm. All the excuses still do not make it right for a killer to do that. Saying it comes down to how you play has nothing to d ok with what I was talking about.

  • @Asqueado said:

Trapper Challenge - Catch 6 survivors with traps in 1 match.

Sometimes you have to be friendly and farm that 60k BP, they get a lot of points doing gens an healing each other or doing pursuits, and u complete that lindo of challenges, win win

Right, it would make since to farm that. So with the original topic that people can't seem to remain focused on, there's no reason to kill one survivor then farm the rest of the match.

I'm not saying like target or tunnel that one dude. Then farm cause you got a kill, That's kinda messed up. There are times where I finally get a kill after hooking just about everyone, but then I realize that all the gens are done and I have little to no points. On the target of sandbagging, if I see you sandbag your team I'm gonna chase you instead and let the person you sandbagged go. Doesn't mean in not gonna go for that person again, just means I'm going to go for you first.

Yeah, so like I said, totally different from what I was even talking about. The topic was about killers that kill one survivor then farm the rest of the match not targeting survivors that sandbag others and allowing the survivor that got sandbagged to escape.

  • @TwistedJoke65 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1775914#Comment_1775914

When I see someone get sand bagged I try to let them get away and go for the person who sandbagged them cause it's messed up

That's completely different than what I was saying. There's no reason to kill target one survivor, get the kill, then allow everyone else to escape. There's no excuse, there's point of validity to it, it's just pathetic for a killer to play that way.

  • @TwistedJoke65 said:

The only te I do something like that is when I realize after that one kill, I'm probably not going to get anymore so I just try to get as much points as I can. I feel bad for that one guy who died but hey, it happens.

What I hate is when the one person who just urban evades and self cares in the corner doing nothing let's all their teamates die, then gets a free hatch escape

That's BS for my 4k and BS to the people who were actually trying

No, it doesn't just happen. You shouldn't be playing the game that way. Either farm or don't farm.

Oh honey, I just had a match against legion where all of my teammates just urban evaded through the whole map and never touched a gen, whereas the other two kept running into the killer for some reason and just?? stood there? Also one of them healed themselves IN THE BASEMENT I WAS SO LOST LIKE SIS.... stop that!!!! I'm not sure how long I can handle this. They were all rank 15-20. I'm back at rank 6 because of MMR stuff like this. Ugh!!

With the way matches are going I'm working on being a rank 15 here pretty soon. I was a rank 13 after the reset. That's how bad this has gotten and usually I play with 3 other people I know so tonight is just extra crappy because I'm playing with randos. Some people know how to take the fun right out of it.

  • @megswifey said:

I hook everyone once before farming with them, but sometimes I get a suicide or accidentally hook them again after their first one and it scares the heck out of me. I always feel bad when it happens, and I wish I could have a post game chat to let them know, but I hope your next matches, farming or not, are super fun and don't have this happen :)!

I'm playing right now and it is absolute trash. There definitely seems to be an ongoing theme of killers that love to camp and/or tunnel. I also keep getting matched with other survivors that body block and other stupid crap. This game is definitely becoming less fun.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

I've heard of this being a strat for farming, because the remaining 3 survivors can either farm or get steamrolled, so they usually choose to farm. So, it's not unusual, just kinda annoying when you're the unlucky survivor who got culled to make the other three submissive.

It's most definitely unusual but if the killer is that good where after they kill one survivor they think they will steamroll the rest the do that. It's a very bad look to kill one survivor then allow the rest to escape.

  • @Zarr0ch said:

Completing rift challenges? e.g. Damage X amount of gens in one match?

I don't really buy the challenge aspect of it. If the killer has a challenge to kill a survivor, then play a normal match. If there challenge is like you said and they need to damage x amount of generators and they want to farm to get it then farm the entire match. There's no need to play normal then halfway through decide to farm.

You're just bad at the killer role if the only way you can win is by tunnelling.

I'm not even going to challenge that assertion, but do people who are bad at the game not have a right to play it?

Yes people who are bad at the game have the right to play but not to ruin the game for everyone else because they are too lazy to put in the effort to actually get better at the game instead of tunneling or camping.

  • This map already sucked enough the way it was but now it sounds like it sucks even more. Definitely doesn't sound like they have "balanced" it.

  • I play with 3 other people, sometimes it can be really nice and sometimes it can really suck. It definitely helps if you're playing in a group to be in a party chat of some sort. However, occasionally I'll play with one other person and a couple randos and have better luck. It could be because different people have different approaches to different killers and maps and when playing with randos you have to constantly be adjusting.

Me exactly. Despite the years I’ve played this I’m still terrible at chases. I play stealthy and do all I can to avoid the killers attention unless they’re tunnelling someone else and need help.

Otherwise I’d MUCH rather do gens than be in a chase.

Absolutely! It's always disappointed to me when I see someone getting tunneled or camped because it usually takes everyone trying to counter play to maybe get any kind of successful result which is typically rare. The people I play with have the same idea I do that it's always good to have atleast one person always doing generators if possible.

  • That's awesome that you got an answer to what was going on with your situation. It seems like when a bug or glitch is brought to their attention that they actually try to address it.

Regarding what you dealt with, if it is the same patch I'm thinking of, I dealt with glitching too or I guess framerate drop but I'm on console and a more recent patch stated that issue was fixed. I wonder if it is something more common to PC.

  • I honestly don't mind doing generators but that could because I also do try and avoid being chased by the killer because I'm not very good at losing them very often. Although, I do play with a setup on a character that gets generators done fairly quick.

I didn't play much DBD the past years and i've been a huge alpha and beta fan of this game but i noticed that they have been made really drastic changes...

The Oni is hardly counter-able and i died every time playing against him, match making is really bad and the toxicity of the community is getting worse... the killers camp the majority of matches and there is a low chance to survive unless someone plays the game excessively... hooks everywhere i go and this game doesn't seem very inviting i must say. Will there be any map updates? Because the maps are usually really bad in lay out from a game design perspective and the wiggle is usually just a stressor because of the frequent hooks there will be always a 1/4 chunk to completion except for newbie killers.

Will there be any bigger updates regarding the wounds of the game or will the developers just ignore everything like they did in the past year or so?

I would agree to an extent that the matchmaking has seemed to be a little worse lately and that community can be iffy at best sometimes. However, those things are somewhat uncontrollable.

In regards to the hook situation, play the petrified oak offering if you have it, I believe it increases the distance between hooks. That's the only thing I think you could do about that because honestly, it would be difficult for developers to determine what would be fair for survivors and killers and someone would always be griping about it.

It would be cool though to see things updated for maps, but the developers can only do so much and it atleast seems like they try to make the game better.

After a string of already frustrating matches I load up in Midwich, on the upper floor, near the stairs that lead to the dead end.

I went up there to check if there was a totem I could cleanse. A Nea decides to body block me in. I didn’t have the patience to wait any longer than a minute (due to my frame of mind) before quitting. I don’t care about the penalty because I shut the game down after that point.

I really don’t care if it ruined THEIR fun. In fact I really hope they were a SWF and the killer still went ham on them, and the other 2 survivors raged on comms at that NEA for being a troll to me and causing me to do that.

I’m really quite fed up of other survivors intentionally bullying other survivors for their own sick n twisted amusement.

I have had this happen to me once and I initially thought that it was a glitch where the person had gotten stuck because I've seen that still occurring occasionally. However, as soon as the killer showed up the other person ran off. Lucky for me, the killer downed them instead of me. I never realized that some people insist on just being garbage people trying to ruin the game for everyone else.

  • @TheWarNung said:

    1) I haven't seen the kind of behavior you're talking about, and I've been playing on PC for 4 years. Are you playing at lower ranks? Because killers tend to camp and use NOED above rank 10, but settle down once you reach green/purple ranks.

    2) How do you know this is exclusively PC players? All you can say for sure is that they're on a different platform. I hear people say occasionally that they know people are on PC because they have spaces in their names, but Xbox players can do that too.

    3) If you're struggling to deal with campers there's a lot of counterplay. Loads of people run BT/DS for this very reason. If the killer is facecamping you can split up and slam out gens and still win. You need to adapt to the killer.

So if you're a survivor that is hooked and the killer is camping you, you win how? There really is no counter play to a camping killer. They never buy into anyone running distraction or bother with generators until the survivor they hooked and are camping is dead. It's pretty ridiculous to lose pips because a killer lacks the necessary skill to effectively play the game.

  • @StibbityStabbity said:

    git gud

    do bones

    stop losing

    do gens

    loop better

Or, you know, turn off Crossplay. I'm sure you will NEVER come across a camping killer or someone that DCs ever again on console :DDD

So the answer to camping killers is "git gud" do you realize how stupid that is? It shows an extreme lack of skill on a killer's part if they feel the only way they can win is to camp. How about improving your own skill so you don't be the d-bag that camps every survivor you hook.

  • @Nomadd said:

PC players are the problem? Funniest thing I've ever read.

And meantime console players are crouching in corners, hiding in every locker for days, not doing gens, not being able to last a chase for longer than 10 seconds...

Turn the crossplay off. I did, I wait a bit longer, but at least I don't have to deal with console crouchers.

Are you delusional, many PC players are a huge problem.

  • @RoboMojo said:

Survivor? I dunno maybe like 2/10?

killer? Oh I’m like a solid... 5... maybe a 6 on a good day... Don’t judge me, I’m just bad is all!

Atleast you are honest with yourself. I would say I'm maybe a 6 or 7 as survivor because I could definitely be better. As a killer maybe a 3, and I only give myself that because I tend to play more as a survivor in which I understand some schemes survivors try to employ. All you can do is keep playing and try to get better.

  • It seems like no mither works best as a pairing perk and what I mean by that is pairing it with resilience and iron will. 4 perks I use that includes no mither are, prove thyself, iron will, and resilience. It seems to be very effective in getting generators repaired but I also understand that there is a gamble that a killer can down me in one hit and if they tunnel like quite a few killers seem to enjoy doing that it can be difficult. However to me, the reward out weighs the risk.

  • I would have to ask this question to killers. Why, when you down the last survivor do you leave them to go search for the hatch to close it or choose to not pick them up and just stand there next to them waiting for the timer to run out?

Personally, when I play as survivor and the gate is opened, I exit. Unless there is a survivor downed or hooked, I may try to help them.

There clearly seems to be much sportsmanship missing from players of this game on both sides.
