"its to effective" Sry that this perk was too good and forced the killers to play fair and has prevented a 3 against 1 at 3 generators

I'll give it 2 months till its back to 3 seconds and gives exhaustion. Once somethings too strong for survivors it's immediately blasted, Killers playing scream simulator blowing up a gen every 30 seconds with quad slowdown? Nah g that's fine leave it, oni lunging across the map carrying survivors cos of a bug? Fine bro say less, Blight "hug teching" walls exploiting a bug? All good we will fix it in a year and a half.

B-but wait survivors are abusing Kinetic Energy exploits to sauce Gens, we must killswitch it! BHVR have and seemingly will continue to hold Killer players hands and until the game is balanced fairly for both sides I'm happy to stay well away from playing both sides

What exactly makes it overpowered/unfun in your opinion? Do you also think that the Legion’s and Deathslinger’s powers need to be changed?

Deathslinger, no, he's in a fine spot where he's balanced, skillcapped and fun to play as and VS. Legion needs a giga update as he generally feels beyond miserable to play most of the time . @Tatariu highlighted some good Legion changes in one of his videos. One big step is to make PoB visible in Frenzy to start. Maybe scratchmarks too but let's not run before we walk

Wonder what next week's "I want (x) removed from Killer" trend will be on here. Hook grabs last month, gen kicking last week. This week….tunneling..?

Hook grabbing was dumb and made for zero counterplay or skill expression in EGC from either side, saving in EGC now requires coordination between Survivors (hard outside lf a premade), and is still very much outplayable from the Killers perspective if you dont get baited early and position correcrly, Gen Kicking turned out just fine in removing BS 3 gen Chess Merchant/Knight hostaging. In all my games as Killer since, ive NEVER had a gen blocked due to over kicking. If you have, you were part of the problem, so sounds like a skill issue. Have another go.

  • Wonder what next week's "I want (x) removed from Survivor" trend will be on here. BU/FTP last month, BGP/Flashbang last week. This week… locker saves..?

  • Considering they kept entire map lunging while carrying someone Oni in the game last patch, don't get your hopes up lol

  • It works both ways but yeah the netcode for the game generally seems ass. Unplayable from your own perspective if YOU'RE the one lagging, TPing around and everything having a delay, but from the recieving end you got Killers swinging from Jupiter on Sterbucks wifi and survivors dropping pallets they aren't even near

  • Jokes on you, the survivor games I had were like that during the event.

He can clearly see your teammates pingponging back and forth trying to get to the hook from different directions. Y'all are the reason he's still at the hook. There's no accountability being taken in this example.

Is he supposed to look at both y'all trying to go for the save and just decide to play badly by chasing one and let the other save and reset or something?

If he hadn't seen y'all there and was just staying around the hook for no reason that's one thing, but that's not what's going on here. This was the team making bad plays and deciding to blame the killer instead.

He -literally- face camps after downing Rebecca, then picking her up and dropping her in front of the hook, standing directly in front of me. If you can't see that as clear as day from the video, then I have absolutely nothing else to say to you

Well, that's a terrible match. they had many chances to rescue you, but they ruined them all. Unless they understand what the mistake was, this situation will repeat itself over and over again. Although someone else already mentioned that it was a mistake.

Yeah they understood the mistake, doesn't change the fact however that the killer player is allowed to play like he did, slugging Rebecca and bringing her closer to the hook so my bar doesn't go up. But as you can see two very enlightened killer players above your comment appear to have me figured out, I wasn't being camped at all. Silly me.

  • Brother he's stood in front of the hook with Rebecca slugged below it, it's time to stop coping, the Anti Camp system is a failure. The killer plays in close proxy to the hook for 90% of my time on it and the bar is at 80% MAX when I eventually die. The killer player knew what he was doing and will continue to do it because there's no incentive NOT to do it.

  • @Risky_Biscuit said:

Working as intended. You're not being camped. Devs have stated that proxy camping was always an intended part of the game, and the anti-camping mechanic is doing exactly what it's supposed to.

It Was never designed as a guaranteed free escape for survivors UNLESS they were actively being camped by a killer, as in standing within a certain radius of the hook. That's why the timer pauses when another survivor is near.

Killers should have the ability to proxy camp, and even the devs agree. The mechanics around actually camping hooks have already been addressed and as shown in the video, are in fact working properly.

    "You're not being camped"

Must have missed the part of the video where Rebecca is slugged below the hook and he's staring directly at me? Or am I just delusional?

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Yeah, this is too much of a Nerf.

Waking up --> 100% that it needed to go.

Not saving on Hook anymore --> It is understandable, but IMO a really hefty Nerf for a Perk which only works once and only when all Gens are done.

3 second Speedboost --> Way too much of a Nerf.

A Perk which is a one-time use in Endgame should be strong. And while Adrenaline is still better than most Survivor Perks (because most of them suck), I think it is too weak for a Perk which might not even come into play. I think I will drop it from my Loadout.

Who'd have thought a perk which required survivors to complete -all- of their objectives to gain value got nerfed, while a plethora of Killer perks that punish survivors for doing their job/reward the killer for doing borderline nothing go unchecked.

  • @BubbaxBilly said:

I have been running into the same stuff. I was just trying to get the survivor challenges done for the event. Been rolling around on a chill bubba build to counteract it :)

Honestly I've just jumped back onto my mostly-killer mode recently, getting my 2 hooks each, 2 kills if I feel REALLY spicy then just running around farming and letting people go. Statistically your in the game for longer/the longest and I can just hop on survivors for prestige. Game's miserable for survivor atm but BHVR seem happy for it to stay this way so that's that lol

  • Because right now the survivor issue is that too many perks are mandatory to bring to counter common meta Killer Perks/strategies. Calm Spriit for UW, Unbreakable for Slugging, DS/OTR for tunnelling, Distortion for full Aura Reading builds, so it's a game of "what perks are an absolute MUST", which turns out to be a massive gamble in itself. Killer didn't run UW and I have Calm Spirit? Dead perk slot. Killer has 4 slowdown and I have Distortion? Dead perk slot.Whereas most of the time EVERY survivor at high MMR is running Adrenaline so slapping on Terminus/NoED and having your three free perk slots still available while getting almost guaranteed value from Terminus and/or NoED is a massive boon.

Idk bout you but being chased by possibly 4 killers at once seems like a really good a good advantage. Meanwhile oni gets his normal lunge while carrying someone. It's an advantage to be sure but it's definitely not overwhelming nor breaking the game.

I get what youre saying but he gets the lunge WITHOUT the basic attack cooldown/slowdown penalty you would normally get

  • I dunno I play an awful lot of Slinger and I don't think he's in -that- bad of a spot. The problem with Slinger is the same balance issue with Huntress, they are purely a ranged Killer and you have to be giga careful buffing other aspects of their kit that /aren't/ their ranged power as it often tips them over the edge. They just kinda forgot this with Huntress last patch tho lol

Idk, he seems balanced and fair, he has counterplay with line of sight breaking, a finite range to his power unlike Huntress, good survivors can bodyblock a hoomed target, and a penalty for ADS. On the flipside he has built in slowdown with deep wound on M2, you can land some cracked trickshots through gaps in terrain, and has some really fun addon and build diversity.

I'd honestly suggest playing around with some different builds and see if it changes your mind. Double reload addons are fun and genuinely catch people off guard, Double Iri addon is really fun in a StealthSlinger build with Plaything, Trail of Torment, Dark Devotion and Tinkerer.

    ^^ this

Losing 3 gens in your first chase is also not fun. Maybe take care of that issue and killers wouldn't feel like they have to tunnel someone out early to have a chance.

so stop doing the one (1) (singular) objectives survivors HAVE to do to win the game? If youre 3 gens down in 1 chase, YOU are doing something wrong as the killer player. If youve been juiced as 3 survivors have done 3 gens together, lord knows how long youve been blasted for, if theyve done 3 gens with 1 on each one, youve been assblasted for 1minute 30 and they have been efficient with gen pressure, thats not their fault. The fact is killers tunnel not because they have to, they do it because there is zero downside and purely because they can. Something needs to be done about how rampant it is in the game but it'll never happen while BHVR are in full blown hold-the-killers-hand mode like they have been for the last year

  • no mate instead we will be buffing The Huntress

  • I'm not sure if the general playerbase have noticed but the game is barely worth playing for survivor in general at the minute, regardless of the event. The game's easy mode for Killer and neurosurgery for survivor and this comes from someone who plays both sides, most of the time Killers can 0 perk sweep a team SWF or not while singing along to Payphone and I'll die on that hill

  • @Xernoton said:

I don't know if I'm missing something with him, but the rate it takes to tick down the debuff seems obnoxiously slow (slower than his power CD)

But that's only natural, isn't it? I mean, if the cooldown took longer than getting rid of the status effect, there wouldn't be much point in it. So far it seems manageable. I played 2 games against Unknown and while it wasn't particularly fun for me, it didn't seem to be all that impressive. I was more annoyed, that I kept getting hit through walls. That's a bit unpleasant.

The projectile bouncing off obstacles is my favorite part about the killer. It's something that no other killer (besides Trickster with an addon) has and it is honestly pretty fun having to think about whether or not the killer might prepare to shoot a UVX that will bounce.

The teleport is probably my least favorite part about it. It leads to free hits when one of these illusions is in the loop you're playing around and I have seen people stand still to wait for it. It's basically Dredge's remnant on crack with none of the downsides.

We'll see how Unknown performs in the following weeks but I have a feeling it will drop a bit. It's a new killer and people take time figuring out how to deal with it.

    Good points

Yeah the teleport seems the most unfair to me in my honest opinion. Like you say, it's a free hit with the Killer Instinct. I feel like there needs to be a drawback similar to Demo TP or the sorts

Yeah this exactly. Idk why he isnt kill switched yet, they're always fast to disable flashlights/Knight

The anti camping measure in game now works fairly well, I have unhooked myself a few times due to a killer trying to proxy me so I think that is fine.

As for anti tunnel, well I would like to see more done about this as it is becoming a bit of an issue spoiling enjoyment for newer players, as they are often the weak link and easy target for tunnelling out of the game.

The main people I say making big noises about anti tunnelling measures being base is the comp scene but quite frankly I do not care what a tiny minority of the player base doesn't want as this issue affects the most common DBD player - the mid/low skill casual survivor

I think I've unhooked myself a grand total of 3 or 4 times max since it's implementation. The bar ticks up far too slow, and killers can easily walk outside of it's range and proxy and guarantee a trade 90% of the time. Not to mention the bar stopping ticking if someone comes for the save, which is fair enough from a balancing perspective as it stops swarming hook, but as such if the killer is proxying and the survivor can't make the save/doesn't want to/can't trade it results in net wasted time. The system doesn't work.

A draw occurs if all participants dont fulfill the win condition. 2 survivors win 2 lose, theyre not an united team.

Does the killer draw against the 2 winners or losers? Nope the killer loses in a 2k.

Unlike Identity V, dbd doesnt judge and score the survivors as a team the killer could draw against.

....no the killer player secures a draw in the event of a 2k...

so u are compairing a busted Perk that was active everywhere on the Map when u was injured whit a Perk that is only activate in the radius of a finished Gen ?

No Killer whit Braincells will chase a Survivor on a Finished Gen as a Killer u always need to chase Survivors in the near of unfinished Gens to have pressure

Nah sorry lemme rephrase a little. I wasn't saying MFT didn't deserve a nerf, it did, it was busted obviously. The logic of nerfing it on the premise of "it punishes the player for doing their job" was correct. You hit me in chase, you're punished cos now I move 3% faster, doesn't make sense. My point was they nerfef MFT on this principle, then add perks that contradict this balance philosophy on the killers side (I spend a couple minutes completing a generator, the KILLER is rewarded for me doing it)

  • @Hexling said:

Well said. I watch dbd league more then any other streamer and I watch a bunch of other tournament organizers. Comp and dbd are not even the same game.

I'll be honest I read that first line I quoted and didn't bother reading on as it's clear they have no idea what they are talking about. Too many people associate "Muh Iri 1" as high elo and assume THAT is competitive play. Like you said, "high MMR" and competitive are 2 entirely different things, and one is infinitely more fun to watch than the others. I legit think a new queue needs adding for actual Ranked, where certain perks are banned and/or rotated in and out on a seasons cycle (e.g - tomorrow, for 1 season Pain Resonance and Adrenaline are banned), and the perk rotations cycle each season. It creates build diversity, it encourages making new strategies for BOTH sides and puts an end to the current PR/DMS/GE/PGTW meta and stops anything like MFT/Resilience/Hope from ever happening again.

  • The most laughable series of changes I saw in recent months was the inevitable nerf to MFT as it punished the killer for doing his job. Okay, fair enough, the perk is now niche and balanced (as much as I hate it as a Legion player). Then, 2 chapters later we get Chucky, and a funny little perk called Batteries Included. This perk allows the killed to move 5% faster around a completed generator, thereby punishing the survivors for doing their jobs. But this is okay, as its on the baby hand-held killer role. The double standards in balancing and the sheer nonsensical killer buffs to killers that DO NOT need buffs (Blight, Huntress, Nurse's lunge addon) in the last 12 months have been comedy. They're sleepwalking into the game being in its worst state for survivors and they're absolutely okay with it. Every time a survivor perk becomes meta or on the strong side it appears on their "watch list". Self Care, CoH, MFT, DS, now Adrenaline is on the watch list. Windows is probably next. The games balancing is a complete joke and the sooner people start voting by not playing the better

  • @Xernoton said:

You must play at some really high MMR, if you go against killers with 4 slowdown perks and NOED on top of that.

Also, tunneling and camping are strategies used in comp too. I can't blame anyone for doing what is done in comp. It works, which is what's most important, if you want to win. The devs have created DBD's win condition and now players focus on that. This is completely natural. When it comes to the devs; the best Freddy player of all time, that plays with neither slowdown nor NOED, spreads hooks and doesn't camp but ends the match with 8 hooks and no kills on GoJ is considered worse, then the Blight on his best map that uses their best addons, 3 slowdowns and NOED and gets 1 hook in end game to camp them with NOED and get a kill. Why would anyone not tunnel or camp, when this leads to kills, which is defined as "skill"?

The only reason is to be nice. But playing nice is not rewarded in any way. Quite the opposite. In fact you'll have your opponent ridicule you more often than if you won. DBD has a real problem with sore winners.

The same applies for survivors. Why not run 4 meta perks, keep the game as short as possible and send yourself to the best map? The chances of you winning are significantly higher and as we know: winning = skill. It doesn't matter, if you looped the killer for 20 minutes straight, did all 5 gens on your own, got 9 unhooks and 15 heals. As long as you die, you are still not considered skillful.

This has led to more and more players only caring about winning and as a result, their opponents feel robbed and start to play in the same way. This is solely on the devs. They and they alone, made the win conditions and introduced MMR.

With that said, there are some things that clearly aren't fun in this game and it is every player's right to come on the forums and voice their opinion. I, for one, hate pre drop and Shift + W on survivors because it's extremely boring to play against. You always counter it the same and there is no thinking involved. Others hate tunneling because it eliminates one survivor early, which means they cannot participate in the game long enough to actually see how it plays out and only experience 1 aspect of the game. Others again hate certain killer powers or maps.

It is true that players will always complain about something but instead of dismissing this feedback right off the bat, we should look at the actual arguments. Old DH was a good example of that, as was NOED. On the surface it looked like both sides just didn't like their opponent using strong perks but there were actually some very valid points why both of them were horrible. On the other hand, you sometimes have people complain about the weirdest things and suggest nerfs / buffs that make no sense with no good argument backing up their suggestions.

Everything you said in that 4th paragraph is your personal opinion but no general truth. Neither you nor I or anyone else can dictate how players have fun. If your fun comes from playing Skull Merchant and holding the game hostage for 60 minutes (patched), then only the devs are allowed to consider this against the rules as long as it was not strictly forbidden prior to that. If your fun comes from winning, then that's fine. It's not against the rules (and it can't be), so there is no rule to tell you, you can't play that way.

"Also, tunneling and camping are strategies used in comp too."

Except it's not. Official tournaments ban specific unhealthy perks on /both/ sides of play and don't allow tunnelling the same survivor off of the hook or proxy camping, because who in their right mind wants to watch that.

  • yeah the games beyond miserable survivor side, especially soloq. 11 games today and minus the three unknown games, 8 were all A/S tier killers slugging/tunnelling/proxy camping and trading at 5/4 gens. games boring, sticking to killer for now as its literally switch brain off mode atm

Huntress has a worse kill rate, and was nerfed by the map changes (increased amount of clutter) way more than Legion.

Also, Legion's rush M2 has downsides because it has full unrestricted mobility.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3670347#Comment_3670347

Spirit doesn't have the same downsides as Legion specifically because survivors are invisible when Spirit is phasing. That's a huge downside. And killers like Blight and Oni don't have the same downsides as Legion because they have restricted mobility with their rushing powers.

Not trying to disclaim your points or anything as what you're saying holds validity, but I think basekit free killers like Billy, Huntress, Wraith etc have lower kill rates due to new players picking them up and naturally skewering the statistics due to them naturally not being skilled at the game. BHVR need to look more in depth at statistics rather than pulling up "killrates low = buff" stats. It's the same gripe I have with Riot and balancing League, the devs seem stuck in a cycle of "see low/high WR, buff/nerf as appropriate"

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I do not understand why Huntress was a priority, when Killers like Legion (who by the way have consistent suggestions given to improve their kit/add-ons) get ignored.

Yeah I follow your videos and pop in your Twitch chat often and idk why your feedback for Legion is ignored so much of the time. The killer is so desperately in need of changes and QoL tweaks. LIke Frank's Mixtape being somewhat basekit would be a nice change, and I have no idea to this day why PoB and scratchmarks can't be seen in Frenzy when Spirit has all of these features visible in her power (granted she can't physically see the survivor but still). It say's a lot when Legions best build is his BFFs endgame build, which even then relies on NWO to be stacked and NoED to not be found immediately. IMO he's slowly slipping into Freddy/Myers tier of forgotten and left behind with new killer and rework power creep.

    "survivor op"

Seems like bait? You highlighted a clearly strong 2 tiles stacked with 2 pallets and 2 back to back vaults with a gen on it. As a killer player, you know what I do when I see a crappy tile like that? Sell the gen and play somewhere else. Sooner that area becomes a dead zone for survivors the better. Any survivor tries to take a chase over there later in the game when the gens done? Drop chase and pressure elsewhere. It really isn't hard. Plus you're on Legion in this particular game, ykow the killer who can.. fast vault windows and pallets (break them in the process with Iri button)

Or are we just punchbags for killers to have fun while we enter in matches that are hopeless 80% of the time?

DH and BNP are still very much good. Whilst I'm in agreement survivor is pretty miserable rn we still have some tools that are strong. DS is good and is on the roadmap for a buff, adrenaline, windows, BU/FTP, BGP/Lithe very good exhaustion perks, Off the Record for tunnelling

I'll definitley give it a look when I pick up Chucky
