Am I the only one who actually thinks these numbers are better than we assumed before? I thought SoloQ would be more in the 20%'s and 4 man SWFs would be at 50%.

If the developers want things to be a 60/40 in favor of killer, it's going well by the numbers. We all know nuance though, and with all the different killer powers/addons/builds and survivor stuff you definitely feel a difference in-game. Makes me want to see individual killer killrates based on MMR brackets as well, especially seeing Doctor at the bottom.

As a side note, I still think clearer information in-game for survivor via a compendium on killers/powers/items/addons/perks easily accessible to research why they lose to a killer would be nice, with notices on killer updates/changes. Could help raise the lower %'s a tad, if survivors bother to read it anyway. We'd also need to address the need for killers to tunnel someone out and a reasonable fix.

My sentiments exactly. The devs set the bar, and they achieved it. I have no idea how solo survivor is 40% escape rate, but I guess it proves that solo que issue is a mindset issue.

This doesn't prove any one side is better than the other, and its a shame that delusional people try to twist it to say "SEEEEE X IS TOO GOOD OR BAD, MUH STATS SHOWS IT" whenever we get these stats

OK - because it makes total sense that the trend would be way different on other platforms, right?

There are many factors as to why those numbers mean nothing. Come back when the steam charts show 10s of thousands of players leaving in a short period rather than less than 3,000 leaving and coming back over a few months.

  • Steam charts brought up, opinion disregarded

why would a big content creator do a vib on such a game breaking bug. knowing half the players will probably do it?

Well it's definitely NOT to spread awareness of the bug, that's for sure (no sarcasm)

Putting a mangled addon above addons that will just straight up land saws you otherwise would never get is questionable. Good survivors might not even heal against billy anyways if they realize you are good with the chainsaw

I'm also 99% sure the cooldown addons will enable a lot of stupid things like completely whiffing a saw / using the saw to zone and then getting another saw off in time because the recovery is almost instant. Not sure why those are anywhere but S tier especially if stacked

Yeah that list is wrong just for valuing cooldown less than Mangled.

Nope they won’t do anything about it, at best you’ll get less of them for a while but the problem always comes back in full force and never really goes away in the first place.

This is the first game I’ve played where you can find people all over the internet on platforms such as tiktok literally advertising the cheating software. Sure other games have that too but in the case of this game it’s egregious

Yeah the first game just like tarkov, cod, rust, apex, r6, and about a hundred more.

If the devs could remove all cheaters from their game with the push of a button, they would.

  • Those windows are hyper cringe, but at least that's one of the few maps with a loop that egregiously bad

What about those perks that make it so boring or snooze fest, aren't you still chasing and engaging in all the interactive play of any other game of DBD?

Its just a good perk that works on a lot of killers. There's really not any reason other than a lack of things to complain about so sloppy is next I guess after not being a problem for 7 years. Not to mention it is the only good free perk that killers have

What's actually boring and gross is people complaining about things that aren't a problem and making people feel bad for using the tools the game gives them

  • Why did you play with him? Did you NOT think the game would round up mmr towards you? Was your plan to bully baby players by queing with a brand new player, because clearly the game wouldn't allow you to do that so easily.

  • Not even a little. The game has only gotten better of the years, sure old dbd is nostalgic, but objectively worse than current dbd

  • That's cool and all but you know what's cooler? Knight gets re-enabled on he 30th!

  • Fun as #########, but I doubt he's any more fun to play against compared to pre-chucky patch

  • I disagree. Slow down perks are super volatile since they usually work well with other slowdowns. Pop and pain res should be nerfed, but killers get some base gen regression for free.

Maybe a mini pain res for each unique hook? 7% damage to a gen when kicking it? Base Corrupt intervention? I have no idea, but introducing and changing around slow down perks hasn't worked yet

Some games have keyboard and mouse support so i dont see any reason why dbd shouldnt give us the support because the game is already crossplay

They are a troll and a baiter.

The reason is that its hard to implement and even harder to do well. I've played one of the few games that has native m&k support (Smite) and the input lag is unbearably bad, same in paladins. Sony and microsoft need to be interested in expanding support but they aren't since there really isnt enough of a reason too in their eyes.

  • Okay op, you don't like x killers, noted. Good for you

  • It doesn't have local co-op

Therefore its not a party game

Garden of joy is fair now. It‘s very easy for killers since the rework. A lot less pallets, the main building is less accessible and worse loops in general.

Objectively, legitimately, factually, absolutely, positively, and unfathomably wrong

What is there to discuss? Its a call to the devs to please stop releasing stupid stuff. If stupid stuff is fine for you, good for you. I mean i doubt you disagree the recent killers are well designed, but if you really think that way, great! You might be the one.

You like to mention the "Thousands of players" who agree with you, however there are actual real numbers that show that people don't actually care that much about "Stupid stuff". Even if you had the numbers, they probably wouldn't mean anything since, I'm willing to bet, most players aren't engaging with the social media aspect of dbd.

The steam charts have been the same for years, maybe that "stupid stuff" is actually just stuff you don't like.

Lets not forget that there were horribly designed killers before blight. Skull merchant wasn't even close to peak crap in dbd, that all happened way before blight released

  • @xEa said:

You even say it, that this is not neccessay my opinion. I agree with most killers beeing bad designed, but i also added that i have no problem with a few of them, where many others actually have. If you criticise this list is not really important, you criticise the opinion of the majority of people. Thats fine tho, but it does not make it less true.

I'm not criticizing the list, I'm saying that your entire argument doesn't even exist, that's how bad it is. Clearly you wanted people to share their opinions, kinda seems like you're getting defensive rather than discussing now that you realize your thread didn't turn into what you wanted

  • @xEa said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3617010#Comment_3617010

To be perfectly honest, i dont care what your personal opinion on that matter or those killers is. Its totally irrelevant. I trust more in votes, done by thousends of people. And they say those killers ARE the golden standard, if you like it or not. Add Oni and it is almost certaint that they will be overall be in the top 10/top 15 at least. They are never near the bottom, completly in contast to the "modern killers" i named.

You and your strimmer aren't thousands of people

  • You even point out that there were well designed killers that came out after blight, which shows that there isn't any point in this discussion even existing, but you then make huge generalizations about incredibly subjective things. You can't just say "Well Designed" and slap that title on only the killers you like when there really isn't any way to say if a killer is "well designed"

I honestly am half wondering if this is heavy bait since you also say that demo, the OG king of zoning is well designed.

On top of that you say "Stop pumping out more and more of those and find your way back to the roots."

Their roots were legion, deathslinger, nurse, clown, freddy, and pyramid head.

BHVR makes characters; sometimes they're stinkers, other times their praised as the best thing that has ever been introduced to dbd in the history of forever until I play against them more than 5 times and then I find them annoying. There are no trends or "Go back to" they just make stuff

I think someone’s done a video recently as I have seen an uptick

It might be that its a common perk in some of the more popular comp scenes. Only reason people run it in comp is because most other perks are banned. Dying light is only good on like plague and legion and even then its terrible.

It'd be super easy to make not only good but healthy. Its no longer an obsession perk; just a flat "You get a hook, you get a stack", however, the caveat changes. Now you can only gain stacks when you hook different people, if you hook the same person twice in a row then you lose some or all of your stacks.

You could then buff the action speed penalty to like maybe 4%, but that might be a bit stronk

My apologies, I should've simply chosen my teammates, Killer and altered map geometry to suit my needs.

Completely and utterly failed at seeing the point, and further proving my point. You cannot change those factors, and you do not know anything about the other players skill level, intentions, or thought process. This is true for EVERY multiplayer game that has even the tiniest inkling of being competitive. Sometimes you just get bad teammates or the other team was simply better than you. That in no way somehow means other players are responsible for your fun, YOU are.

You CAN control your outlook on the game and what you do. This is genuinely stuff we learn as children; you can still have fun and lose. If you want to be super negative and blame everyone else for you not having fun, then that's on you.

Even if you have the worst match ever where its objectively NOT FUN, (its a 3 genning skull merchant on midwich who's bleeding everyone out at 5 gens oh and all your teammates dc'd instantly), what is getting upset going to do? It's pixels on a screen that are moving in a way you don't like, and unlike in the real world, you have the ability to move your eyeballs in a different direction and completely eliminate the problem.

And you know what? In other video game communities, we laugh at people who complain about their teammates because more often than not, the ones complaining are the problem. In other communities, we acknowledge and understand that not everyone is at a high skill level and we cannot expect them to know the correct way to play, and the shitheads that shame newer or inexperienced players are ignored or reported.

  • @tippy2k2 said:

Maybe I'm just lucky or my cheaters are more subtle but it's been...literally months since I've seen a cheater

Same, last one I saw was around when skull merchant released

  • It's insane how little accountability this community has. It can't possibly be that I played bad, its my team/the killer/the killer's perks/addons/offering/the map/the lag.

If that's your thought process then for the sake of yourself and the game, stop playing. As seen in the videos, this mindset makes you play poorly and worse it deludes (probably not a word) you into thinking you aren't playing poorly.

That's not even mentioning the nuance behind the playerbase; the reality is that most people playing dbd don't spend a ton of time on the forums(and more). How can I blame someone for not following made up rules that the community put in place? What right do I have to shame someone for not playing perfectly (unlike ME of course, I'M a god at the game).

If you're not enjoying the game that's fine, but that's strictly a YOU problem. Own that, don't blame other people because you're not having fun.

  • Uh have you forgotten that chucky released yesterday? Most people want to play the new licensed killer which means longer killer ques. After a certain point the mmr says ######### it and throws you into a match with whoever.

Its either that or 20 minute ques

  • Yeah... I kinda wish they just ignored trickster until they had a plan. He was annoyingly oppressive in the ptb but now he's significantly worse than he used to be.

  • Everyone is arguing about streamers and people with huge win streaks as if that has ANYTHING to do with the average player. We go months with no one talking about mmr, then once a few people are having rough matches because their mmr cap was raise, everyone goes ballistic as if it means anything. Collectively as a community, we agreed that mmr means nothing.

A raised mmr cap just means that you'll get better players slightly more often that you used to. Problem is, these players are well above the mmr cap and there aren't enough players that high so they get matched with people around the mmr cap instead of what they should be getting.

That won't ever change and to think that making the mmr more strict will change that, is delusional.

  • People should be banned for talking about steam charts

  • Not to be a twat, but I think people are giving this perk too much credit. Having to hook the obsession is way more of a crutch than you might think even with the obs changing after unhook. Dead Man Switch was absolute dogshit until they removed that cavate, I don't really see how this is any different.

  • That was either lag switching or the fattest packet loss of the century. I used to play on 10mbs down 500kbs up and had mad packet loss every minute or 2. This is not what bad internet looks like lmao

  • So he is very clunky; while the devs have vastly improved him from his ptb, he's still in really rough shape.

I do really enjoy him though and I'll share what I know about him. If you like him, maybe a few more tips might make you want to stick with him.

Not all his guards are made equal, but I'm only really talking about 1 of them: The Jailor. Don't use him. He is the slowest and has a slow movement speed which makes him horrible for injuring survivors. The attempted pay off is a longer patrol time and a much wider detection radius.

This payoff usually is detrimental; the scenario is pretty much always the same: Use Jailor to patrol gen, walks to a different gen and finds someone, you need a guard but the jailor is still roaming, someone triggers jailor and now you don't have a power for even longer.

What you do with jailor is you put him down, and hit him so he ######### off. You can also use him to break gens and downed pallets. Remember that kicking gens with the guard regresses by 5% which is double what a vanilla kick does.

The other two guards actually do something and their uses are pretty straight forward. Carnifex chases the longest and can break pallets instantly. I've found that the pallet breaking part is the best since you can use carnifex almost as the pallet drops, its like the pallet wasn't even there!

He is statistically the most likely to get a health state if he chases someone as well, the hard part is managing the carnifex. He's undoubtedly the best of the guards but you only get 1 (or 2 with addons but still). And the fact that he chases the longest means that he keeps survivors occupied for a time. DON'T use him to break the gen though, he does it almost instantly compared to the other two who spend like 5 seconds smacking it. These extra few seconds where survivors can't interact with the gen are pretty impactful for a killer with no mobility

The assassin usually won't get the hit without your help even though he is the fastest.

Generally the best uses go as followed

Carnifex: Extremely strong in chase to break pallets also an amazing way to keep survivors off gens for extended periods of time

Assassin: Usually the one that you drop down at the loop and survivors run away, mitigate this by taking alternative paths to cut them off. Keep in mind that the guards chase is very unintuitive, which usually leads to survivors holding w until the case ends. If you're noticing this, just break off and let the assassin fizzle. That survivor is incapacitated until the chase ends at least.

    Jailor: die

A general rule if you want to see more guard injuries is to place you guards on top of survivors from max range away then move (you, the knight) to where you think the survivor will be when the chase ends. They will either get hit by you or get pushed back into the guard

Build and addons would take too long to write, but use Map of the Realm so that you can place your guards on top of survivors without eating ######### (the guards detection circle wont catch survivors without this addon). Dead Mans Switch is great since you can force survivors off gens by commanding you guards to kick it.

  • Not everyone is going to like how you play the game, but I think we all can say we wouldnt throw the match if someone threw shack pallet at a bad time.

Problem: I am a charm collector.

While incredibly niche, Im basically forced to buy the bundle if I want to obtain the charm. I want the characters, I want the charm, I dont want to spend more for the outfit though.

Also this ignore the entire fact that the DLC would be cheaper than buying Auric Cells if they didnt artificially increase the price to begin with. And including outfits to artificially raise the price of DLC sets a bad idea going forwards, I dont think we should sit here and defend this.

This is the most "That's a you problem" I have ever seen in my life

  • Specs? It's really hard to give any real answer without know what you have, should've put that in the original post

  • I know, I was being sarcastic. Could've used a "/s" I suppose, my b

  • Have you thought that... maybe... you're the one taking the game too seriously?

This perk doesn’t make bad survivors look good lol, if they can’t loop in the first place this perk doesn’t turn them into a god. You need to loop tightly in the first place to get value out of this, bad survivors don’t do this well.

And also, that’s basic killer strategy? You need to know who and who not to commit to chase with. If you’re not doing this and blaming MfT for your losses than you should reflect on your overall strategy and not blame the perk.

Meh, I probably have more hours than you so... I'm right you're wrong

  • Lol you act as if those map offerings will do anything. Both nurse and blight are fire on those maps.

I agree that in the right hands and on the correct tiles it can definitely extend chases longer than DH for distance. That being said though, if you commit to that chase knowing they have MfT and on those tiles, that’s on you. Leave the chase and get pressure in other ways. There will almost always be a weak link on the team that leads to pressure and downs.

That sounds so bad. "If they brought this perk, you're ######### and need to ignore them."

Personally, I find that MFT's biggest issue is that it makes bad survivors look good on top of pushing good survivors over the limit of whats fair.

  • Everything seems fine though? Only time I have issues is when I vpn to east coast and even then it doesn't go over 120 ping

  • They usually put rift skins in the store later on. No telling how long that will be though.

  • They literally didn't nerf his addons? He's also strong enough that nerfing his better addons doesn't mean much

  • Survivor's can block windows and spawn pallets. Both sides got enough bs to cancel eachother out imo

  • That's because I took them. Thought you could dodge the IACS (International Auric Cell Service) huh? You're lucky I'm just taking what you owe.

  • I feel like you would think differently if you watched your game back or had someone else watch it and tell you what you're doing right and wrong.

Thanks for the suggestions here, we do have a few changes for the EMP's in particular ready for an upcoming hotfix. We'll be looking at reducing the EMP crates themselves to 4 per map, the generation time increased to 100s (currently 90s), and Survivors will also be slowed whilst charging an EMP by 10% as well as increasing the EMP charge time itself to 2.5s from the current 2s.

Duration of the pod disabling from an EMP will also be decreased down to 45s. There's also some score changes as we noticed Devious points were a little on the low side.

    How do those sound?

Sounds pretty good to me, hopefully these changes make it to live

  • I thought he was kill switched because of that issue. I could be wrong since I haven't gotten on today, but I've heard he had a game breaking bug
