  • I love this game conceptually and I'm really hoping for a 180 and for things to improve.

This is the only game like it and that fact makes it so much harder to just up and leave.

  • Ace usually

I find them to often be incredibly good but very chill players

Games tell us a lot about people. How they play games is, in my experience, how they operate in person, their work, and their relationships. People who cheat a games, cheat elsewhere too. People who do sick crap in games just to troll people for kicks, well clearly that is how they get their kicks. So yeah, first impressions matter. We are judged by our actions and our ethics (or lack of them). People who play the game hard and do things to achieve game objectives are fine and dandy. People who go out of their way to torment the Player for no game purpose are demented losers.

You put this a lot more eloquently than I could. I don't understand why people being mean spirited online are given a pass so often. It does say a lot about a person if they're going out of their way with the sole intention to ruin someone's fun and make their day worse.

  • I went back to look at an old vod from when I played pyramid head (ignore my horrendous overlay I was memeing up the gnome) and those veins are not there either

This is either a visual update or some graphical bug. Either way, it looks cool as hell and really gives the knife some personality, I hope its a permanent thing. The veins are there in game in the first person model as well, which can be seen here.

  • Since flashbangs are essentially just reskinned firecrackers, I don't think so. Take solace in the fact that the survivors using it are spending time in the lockers rather than working on gens to craft them. I could see this being used in a BM manner but I feel like that'll be a minority of cases.

As for the mine, I feel it's a little too niche and reliant on a killer interacting with a generator to be considered a toxic perk. Annoying as #########, sure, but toxic/intentional BM? I doubt it.

  • That almost makes me think of a missing texture error from a Source game.

And here I was thinking I looked threatening

Instead I look like I have unending lust for the survivor I'm chasing

Honestly, having a Doctor chase me with lust in his eyes sounds infinitely more terrifying. Please, Herman, at LEAST be gentle.

  • In addition to what Illiterate said, it's worth noting that Wraith not having a passive phasing animation makes him easier to read than spirit too. Even while cloaked, his shimmer is fairly visible up close if he's moving. I don't think Wraith is even on the same tier as Spirit in his current state.

Haddonfield-Buildings are enough for this Challenge. Just saying, not giving you any ideas, but those work.

Can attest to this, I did it on Haddonfield. Just dropped and ran back inside and dropped as needed till I got it. Guaranteed I was downed but knocked it out first try.

  • Not quite a scream but Claudette's noise when she gets picked up always sounded off enough to be comedic for me. Just that "Oh!" noise she makes sounds like a minor surprise than, y'know, being picked up by a murderous being.

  • PotatoLegion, only just recently started watching him

Pofeh is pretty funny and does some great voice acting while livestreaming as well!

Bad survivors don't know how to use Dead Hard though

That being said, relying on dead hard to do well is a detriment to one's skill - I do agree

100% this. I noticed I started to get infinitely better at chases/looping once I stopped relying on DH. Really made me think about how and why I was running certain ways rather than relying on my second chance to get out of harms way.

Plus, frees up a perk slot for more fun stuff!

As a heterosexual Christian man I am here on wearing the pride charm for every game until DBD is shut down. God bless all you wonderful people, and shame on those that bully others.

Evil persists when good people do not act. May I get tunneled every game in your stead.

I already know you'll catch a lot of ######### for this post, but as someone who grew up around a bunch of homophobic abusive Christians? It does mean a lot to read this. Keep being you dude, we need more positivity and respect in the world.

The Detective's Hunch player wasted a perk slot.

    Totally missed that at first.

Imagine bringing the counter to hex perks and not utilizing it.

Sorry you had to deal with this, OP. I will never understand why people feel the need to act like this over a video game, it's disgusting behavior.

They said key changes would come with the mori changes, they just didn’t say what or how.

I wish they would have waited to announce the changes until they could give us a more concrete idea of what they were planning to do. The way they presented it really came across as "Moris game ending, awful, and toxic, oh btw key change soon!™" which understandably doesn't sit right with a chunk of the playerbase.

  • I feel like a chunk of stealth killers do fairly well on Haddonfield. In my experience, running games on it as ghost face is surprisingly fun, and pig with bamboozle leads to some really funny moments.

  • I was a bit worried that running the pride charm would cause a lot of toxicity to be directed my way but my interactions thus far have been surprisingly wholesome.

I was in a chase with one of the survivors when they ran by my hook, stopped, walked to the charm and pointed at it. I nodded my head, they gave a lil teabag, I rang the bell, and we went our separate ways. Ended up letting them farm a bit since they had a Claud that killed herself on first hook. Lovely group of survs!

  • No u.

  • Nah, this seems to routinely happen with me since I tend to let survivors live if they have a particularly BM / rude teammate or if they have multiple DCs. Haven't gotten in trouble for it before!

  • What this game registers (and does not register) as a chase sometimes is odd to say the least.

I often find myself getting chase music/credit when I have no survivor in front of me, and later on not getting it despite being right on a survivor.

  • Overthinking mindgames. I sometimes setup a massive 10000 IQ play and overthink a situation only to realize the survivor has ran from the tile and all I've done is lost ground.

Tracking through corn is a nightmare as well.

  • This is extremely suboptimal play on the Pigs part and should cost her the game against any decent survivors. It does suck for your individual experience, no denying that, but the last thing Pig needs is a nerf.

  • I'm honestly surprised so many people have an issue with the screams, I don't think they've ever bothered me. Maybe my ears are just broken!

I tend to avoid hitting on hook in general just because it's a small little time waste. I can understand survs perceiving it as BM, no one can read minds afterall. Ultimately it's something stupid to get super mad about imo.

  • Watching the first couple videos with your mic on, this sounds largely like a mindset issue. You're going in expecting toxicity, unfair play, and BMing and it seems to be mildly tilting you before anything has even happened - which, ultimately, tilts you all the more during incidents where it does happen. I dunno if you're hamming it up a little for the camera or if that is genuinely how you talk to yourself during matches, but it's putting you in a worse position.

As cheesy as it sounds, try to turn your thoughts around and speak more positively about the match, it will make this game a lot more enjoyable for you and will improve your gameplay. Stop focusing strictly on what the survivors are doing if it's not directly affecting the core of the gameplay, or what things are pissing you off, and focus more on your own gameplay and what you can do to win the match.

I'd also suggest swapping between both roles as you gradually climb up the ranks. It really gives you new perceptive on how the game is played and why the things that happen, happen. I'm not saying the balance in this game is perfect because it's not, but the degree to which you complain about it tells me you don't understand the game fully quite yet. Which is totally okay! At this point in your game time, you're not expected to. This game has a steep learning process that makes it a little frustrating for newer players. I'm nearing 500 hours and I still learn cool little tricks or strats from time to time. It's part of why I love this game so much.

I'd also just suggest disabling chat in general, it's rare I've found in my experience that you have toxic people in post game, but if you do? Just close the window and ignore them, it strips them of that power.

  • You may have one spoonful of Dwight, as a treat

  • Only if there's a fun animation where you slam into the edge wall and leave a dent in it.

  • I tend to play with a SWF (usually 4 man) just about any time I play survivor since I have quite a few friends who play this game.

Generally, we're kind of a rainbow brigade when it comes to ranks and I don't think any of us really play that seriously. Games tend to be a mixed bag cuz of it.
