  • Mhm, ok, kind of stupid that you can have a Freddy right beside the hook camping and BT doesn't trigger. Waking up doesn't always help either, because if he hits you before you unhook you're in the dream state again. So you just spend too much time trying to wake up for basically no reward.

When a teammate unhooks me... he was being Chased by Bubba... He had no BT... I don't use DS...

I don't "rage", but I do get mad and shout in the inside

    Pretty much this...

As a survivor: Teammates bringing any killer to me and then unhooking me, Bubba is the worst though. Or even better, a chased survivor bringing the killer over to my hook while another guy is unhooking me. It feels just like they want to get rid of the killer and get them on me...

As a killer: A flashlight clicking, teabagging survivor that runs after me anywhere I go and then, when they eventually die, complains in post game chat that I tunneled them...

  • Most of the times, if I play like a friendly killer, I actually am a friendly killer and let the survivors go. But sometimes, I only pretend because it makes the challenges easier, all the while feeling bad (I mean only the challenges where you have to sacrifice them, like the EGC ones...). But normally, I only do it after I down them on their third hook, so they would have been dead anyway and they, at least, get some more points for doing gens...

  • Favourite to play against are probably Demogorgon and Ghostface. For the Demogorgon I kinda like his music and his sounds, and for Ghostface I'm pretty good against him because I'm constantly checking my surroundings.

I don't mind the Hag at all. I actually like playing against her too, probably in my top 3. She's one of the only killers that sometimes can jumpscare me. I want more scares and horror in this game... I also like to play as her myself though. I'm surprised that many complain about her camping because most Hags I face definitely jump back to the traps if they are triggered but if they are not, they actually don't come back that often and they normally don't sit next to the hook. When I play her I just love it when many traps get triggered around the map and you jump from survivor to survivor, scaring and hitting everyone. But she can be so slow if people know how to play against her.

Least favourite is probably Leatherface. Similar reason as to why others mention Hag... I feel like so many Leatherfaces camp (or rather facecamp). Maybe I'm just unlucky.

Thats pretty much my stance on "Toxicity". I can shrug off getting teabagged at a pallet or something, but once the game is over... its time to say GG. I have much respect when people are able to do this instead of holding onto whatever happened midgame so they can spew insults after the match is over.

Heres an example... I mightve had some "Toxic" games last month where I kept facecamping ppl with a revved chainsaw, just to see how many kills I could get like this as opposed to actually applying pressure. The person in this screenshot was the first person hooked and facecamped. They ended up being a really good sport about it.

Uh, my post just disappeared so I try to post again:

Yeah, I mean I feel like discussions in endgame chat are sometimes ok. I also asked some killers that camped one person for the full game, why they have barbecue & chilli in their loadout (I mean not even the bloodpoint bonus really is that great when you just camp one survivor), just because I really wanted to know. Sometimes I talk with killers or survivors about the game afterwards. I even think it's fine to say: That game wasn't really fun or ask someone why they played a certain way. But there's a civil way to say it and there are people raging and insulting. I also often say "gg" except if I got killed really early and don't wait around or if I immediately get insulted. And when I'm playing survivor and someone goes off I try to tell them to stop it, which often leads to being insulted myself. Still, I think we should just try to be a bit nicer at the end of the game.

you guys really like to complain about survivors don’t you?

doesnt matter if it is the ones that are better than you (those are OP! Plz nerf ALL survs!) or they are not so good (Potatoes! Git gud!)

Do you ever realize that for the casual player it’s definitely not as easy to learn to loop well and it’s really not fun to get destroyed then, it is a worse experience than getting genrushed as Killer by a well coordinated 4SWF. I know this from both sides. And there are definitely killers out there that give worse end game chat than these examples.

I feel like this isn't about whether survivors are good or bad. It's only about toxic endgame chat. There will always be games where you get totally destroyed and didn't have that much fun. That happens to survivors and killers, but there's just no reason to be toxic in endgame chat. I feel like the first example of chat messages was not that bad, but when someone starts out with insults that's just unnecessary (on either side). Overall, no one is obliged to give the other side a great time with lots of fun, but just keep it civil. And sure, if both sides have fun then that's great but it won't be the case in every game.

  • I kinda wanted a beast killer, some werewolf style killer would have been awesome. But I don't mind a Wild West one either. Especially with a Saloon map, that's kinda cool.

  • Ah yeah, just checked again and they wrote not on xbox because there are no dedicated servers yet (but that changed in the meantime too). Don't know how I generalised it to all consoles. Sorry, my bad.

    Im not on pc.

Wait, I thought they didn't implement DC penalties on other platforms, only on pc? So why would you be at 15 minutes?

I had some crashes with my old computer because of a memory problem. Never had a crash since I have a new computer. The only disconnects I experience at the moment are when someone disconnects from the lobby.

  • Yes, that's a real mature reaction.

(By the way, a friend of mine that plays this game is a police officer and he doesn't mind the penalty system, he normally plays during his free time and not during work. If he has to respond to an emergency while playing the game that is every once in a while and not several times a day, so he wouldn't even notice the penalty.)

  • @InnCognito said:

5 minutes wont matter. But if you go look at how much further these penalties go than just a simple 5, 10 15. They go much higher. Go test the system for yourself and see just how far they stack, then come back here and talk about it.

"The incremental penalties will decay naturally over time, starting after the most recent matchmaking ban has completed."

I don't know, I still feel that you shouldn't have to leave 6 games per day, even if you need to respond to one emergency. And the penalties decrease again if you stop DCing. I really think that if they would give you free DCs they should give no more than one free DC a day. That's already generous. Yes, it's unfortunate if you have to leave because of an emergency and get a penalty but it's also not fun to play the game and have a survivor disconnect every single game you play.

  • Yeah, 6 DCs is crazy. I didn't disconnect in forever. My last disconnect was because my computer was really old and sometimes a game crashed because of a RAM problem and that was like three months ago. My last intentional DC was maybe a year ago, I don't really remember.

Lol tell me about it, someone tries to block a hook and messes up so you KNOW they are literally just meters away and look for them... CAMPER

I’ve been accused of tunneling a survivor when two were dead, one was hooked and he was the only one left up lol.

Or if a survivor follows you with their flashlight all game, trying to get your attention and when you hook them (twice) because they keep following you, you tunneled them. :P

There’s some sort of gentlemen’s code that everyone wishes everyone else would follow, but you can’t get mad if you follow it and someone else follows the “real rules.”

It would be like a YMCA pickup basketball team with Lebron James, the smart thing would be for them to literally let him have the ball and score every time... but no one else from either side would have fun that way

Yes, there are some strategies that I try to avoid too. I really don't like facecamping at all as a survivor so I don't facecamp as a killer either. But the rulebook also makes fun of the people that call pretty much everything camping or tunneling. For example if you hook someone and see a ton of scratch marks or maybe even a survivor near the hook, you still feel obliged to walk across the map so that you don't risk being called a camper.

  • Yeah, I just had some wallhacking, teleporting Bubba that stood in the basement the whole game but was able to port through the map and kill people. I saw him do it several times as I was the first one he ported to and hooked. Then he asked in the post game chat if we wanted to buy the hack. Great times. I really hope they do something to counter these hackers...

  • Sure, both sides use strategies to their advantage that the other side considers toxic. But I feel like if it's not bannable or punished then it's valid to use this strategy (genrush, flashlight, slugging, tunneling, even camping is, in principle, allowed and a valid tactic, even if not fun for the other side. But you can try to play optimally in these cases). Otherwise the devs have to implement ways to stop the behaviour or punish it, like they did with DCs.

But I feel like this "rulebooks" for killers and survivors are just a way to make fun of everything that gets written in the post game chat and demanded from the other side. And both sides are not innocent when it comes to this but from experience I feel like survivors more often have these demands (and that is probably because there are just way more survivors than killers). So, why not have a bit fun with all these comments? I really don't feel attacked even though I am a survivor main (but at the same time, I know the other side and I know how these post game chats sometimes feel). It's not that serious. The most toxic thing about DBD really is the post game chat and these kinds of threads sometimes lighten it up a bit.

  • @Respectfulnancymain said:

Why don't we talk about the killer rule book instead

Rule 678: a survivor can not use second chance perks

Rule 457: survivors should not use the best loops

Rule 236: survivors should not do the gens too fast

What exactly is the point of this post? Why make a post about the "survivor rule book" now?

I don't know, I think it's funny. I am a survivor main and play killer every now and then for a change or for the challenges and I get a ton of comments like this in the post chat. Things like "respect the kobe" etc. I think it's really funny. (Sure, there are also comments like "Don't genrush" from killers but you can also make a new thread for a killer's rulebook for survivors. It's just fun.)

  • Rule 344: The killer has to abort a chase in order to follow the flashlight-clicking, tea-bagging survivor but is not allowed to down said survivor or even hook them. If this rule is not followed and the survivor is hit, the survivor is allowed to disconnect immediately.

  • The Hooker would actually be funny (not that I think it'd ever be that).

I like the werewolf idea and really hope it is one, but I don't believe really believe that either. But there are way too many names if it was a werewolf, like The Beast, The Lycan(thrope), The Shapeshifter, The Wolf(man), The Creature, The Hellhound, The Monster, The Skinwalker. :) Well, crossing my fingers for some beast killer.

  • For Meg most often I use:

Head: Amazon War Paint or Carnie Long Locks

Top: Breezy Tank Top (Summer) or Buzzer Beater (Winter)

    Legs: Edgy Leather Leggings

For the Hag I'm really boring and use either her full Sapling Siren or Scorched Harvester outfit.

But why should the survivors stop fighting the win just because someone is refusing to hook them on an actual hook? Its not fair..Everyone just wants the survivors to give up and die but there comes a point where the killer could have taken his loss (NOT EVEN A LOSS) and just hung him on an actual hook.

You can't really say the Killer was holding the game hostage. It seems that it was either both parties doing that or none. Both tried to win the game, the Killer just had an extra objective. The survivor also could have tried to get away and look for the hatch. The survivor might even be able to lose the Killer but that won't be possible if they always run back to the same spot or the same exit gate.

When I'm the last Survivor and get downed I normally don't even struggle because I know at that point I've lost the game.

  • I did it with Spine Chill, Lithe, Iron Will and Dance With Me. Did gens normally and rescued hooked people and always tried to get away from the Killer whenever I was found. It took me about 3 games. I think the second one was really close but in the end the Killer got me. On the third try, three of us got out and I was never hooked.

  • I did the challenge with Spine Chill, Iron Will, Lithe and Dance With Me. I didn't crouch around the whole game but just tried to lose the Killer whenever I was found. I think it took me two or three games, don't remember exactly. Sure, not the safest method if you want it on your first try but 3 survivors got out and I also did gens and helped teammates, so I think that was a success.

  • I'd post them for you but they disappeared from my inventory.

  • I just want my event skins back that disappeared from the inventory. Don't mind if they give it to others too. I don't like time limited exclusives anyway. Would be fine if exclusives are bound to hard achievements but you can always get them.

  • At least I'll finally get my exclusives back that somehow disappeared from my inventory. However, I'm fine if they make it available for everyone. I'm not a big fan of time limited exclusives.
