Steam once randomly showed me, that there was a free weekend when it released. Gathered a few friends and hopped into it. It was fun, so we bought it afterwards and have been playing since.
-
Resident Evil Outbreak and File #2 has that mechanic where you can turn into a zombie and hunt down other players when your infection rate reaches 100%. Would be cool to see in DbD but only if you bleed out, or get moried maybe.
-
Literally the reason why I play like the most scummy PoS when facing TTV's. I had a good amount of biased TTV's that insulted me on my profile or called me all kinds of names after they lost in a fair game. Since then I kinda made it my duty to slug, tunnel, annoy and stretch the round, making it super unfun for them to play.
-
Let's see... would you rather run around the map looking for 1 Survivor and potentially lose 2 more gens in that time or go back to the hook where you can find at least 2 and get more pressure that way... I understand that tunneling isn't fun but seeing gens popping here and there isn't fun either. If you put the tunneled Survivor back on the hook and chase the other one, the third has to get the unhook, often resulting in a good slow down. Instead of complaining I would rather look at the other side. DS exists for a reason. It gives Survivors that little extra time to finish the gens while the one getting tunneled gets a few more seconds out of another chase. Let's say a Survivor with DS gets tunneled. They run the Killer for ~20 seconds and use DS for another ~20 second chase. Then they hang on a hook for up to 60 more seconds. A gen is done in 80 seconds if I'm correct, so that's still 2 potential gens in that time, if the Killer chases another person. If you don't like to get tunneled and don't have/bring DS or if your teammate doesn't bring BT or doesn't pull aggro, it's still no real reason to complain if you ask me.
I for my part don't try to tunnel unless someone begs for it or they get unhooked in front of my face (but in that case I usually still just slug, giving them another chance).
As Survivor I like to bring WGLF and pull aggro/take a hit for 2 easy stacks and try to distract the Killer for as long as possible.
-
Let's be honest here... NOED is clearly OP and needs a nerf ASAP! Nobody has the time to do bones if you have to do 5 gens and everyone can be hooked 2 times. Detectives Hunch and Small Game are just manifestations in your mind and they don't really exist and Maps are way too rare to use. Also, don't forget that Totems aren't objectives so you don't have to do them and it's always the Killer's fault for bringing NOED in the first place!
Please don't hit me... Just trying to be funny after a long exhausting day...

The skill check always appears and not doing it counts as failing no?
Not doing it (not pressing space at all) doesn't count as attempted and it will "pass" and DS will deactivate until you're unhooked the second time.

Was talking about Iri Heads with a friend the other day.
We came up with a few interesting things.
- Hatchet gets refunded after a hit
- "Regenerating" Hatchets over time
- Oneshot down at long ranges (32+ meters)
We were mostly talking about how Huntress should be more of a "long range sniper" and be rewarded for that, where Trickster is more of a "short range machine gunner".
Tbh... I'm a bit scared how the add-on pass will turn out. I don't like Billy's and Nurse's new add-ons. That's why I'm usually running only a few selected browns, yellows that improve cooldowns/charge rate or none.
-
What has this clip to do with DS? I see a perkless Survivor making bad decisions and getting tunneled. If other Survivor's aren't willing to pull aggro for you to escape it has nothing to do with DS. DS still does the same thing it did before, just without the free gens. Haven't used DS that often and when I did it was either useless because the Killer would slug me or ignore me most of the time anyway so I just swapped it out for other useful perks. Really don't see the point here.

I tried to get Ash to sign my copy, but he was all like "Aw, what NOW?!"
This is gold! Thank you.

It's interesting to see these lists. Did you peeps have a secret meeting or something? Looks like the majority really enjoys Oni, seeing how he's mostly ranked all the way up there in A and S. :D
-
Played him on the PTB, wasn't fun, didn't bother afterwards even with the changes for a long time. Now I own him, but he's like barely leveled. Can't be bothered to touch him really.
-
Have been playing both sides since 2016. Tho, nowadays I try to avoid Solo Q as Survivor because I'm getting farmed by others constantly, so it's a ~65/35 Killer/Survivor (when playing Solo).
-
Well... first of all Dark Souls taught me to have fun no matter how hard/bad something is (and this comes from someone who had to fight Vordt at least 70 times after rage quitting and deinstalling the game twice). I generally don't care about the outcome anymore. Most of the time I'm just trying to have fun, laugh when something stupid or funny happens, say gg and move on once the round is over. My biggest mistake when starting out in DbD was caring too much about ranks, kills and my overall performance. Also, don't play DbD too much because you can get burned out and that doesn't really help. Play something a bit more relaxing once in a while and you should be good.
-
You know... relatable. I would report someone too if they wanted to:
- suck on my finger (Clown)
- take a picture without my consent (GF)
- force their kinks on me (Nurse, Phead, Plag)
- give me a shocking experience (Doc)

and fun fact i already removed ds from my build along time ago, the only real problem is that now is worthless so no one is gonna use
And tunneling is at all force again (:
Define "tunneling" first. If the killer has nowhere else to go because everyone is hiding and your teammate doesn't pull aggro it's their fault and not the killer's. Also, if you're actually getting "tunneled" you should still profit from DS.
-
They literally removed the "here, get a free objective today" aspect of the perk. It should be an anti-tunnel perk after all. I don't see the issue here. If you rely on DS to get a gen done or to annoy the killer maybe you shouldn't run it in the first place.
-
I stopped spending money since Oni and Yui really because of their poor decisions. Never bought a skin with money and sure as hell won't spend any money on this until they fix all the important issues, fix the grind for casuals, put more time into high quality DLC and listen to the community for changes/improvements. I miss the days where we got actual free content that was good and not some cheap bait (Huntress and Nurse).
-
Ouch
-
Welcome to DbD, I guess?
Pre-rework Nurse (I haven't played for nearly 2 years at that point) on old Lery's.
They got mad and wrote some "not so nice" things and spammed my profile with hurtful stuff.
Had the time of my life.
Just make screenshots and keep them as trophies. :P

That isn’t proof of your claim at all.
Shut it! You're ruining the fun!

Competitive asymmetrical games are hard to manage, especially if they're built around player experience and fun. Most Competitive games are symmetrical for a reason. Everyone has the same options available, teams have the same number of players, etc. You would have to change so many things in DbD just to achieve a somewhat comp feeling, starting with RNG and finishing with Killer/Survivor balance. The way I see it, Beefmur, is that you're thinking about doing the right thing but being wrong in the end. Not to mention the fact that you cannot show legitimate proof of your claim and instead blame new content for whatever reason. Also, making a game competitive doesn't mean that it will grow. Two of the big factors for growth are marketing and interest in the game/genre. Fortnite is a battle royale and Rainbow is a fast paced shooter, where DbD is a Survival Horror/Slasher type of game. And younger audiences are more likely to pick up a shooter than a horror game. (And don't blame me for my english... it's 2 AM)

not a problem, apologies if it sounded like I was complaining - not my intention at all <3
Nah, all good. Didn't sound like complaining. But it could've been avoided if it wasn't for my dumb brain not working properly once again.

Hi, as I've said on a previous thread, the MMR is affected by various factors in a match and it will decrease/increase as necessary. But we are not giving out what these factors are right now however. We want people to play matches as normally during this test.
Alright. Thanks for the answer. I'm barely using the forums/hubs so I don't really go through the posts. Sorry for the trouble of having to explain it again.

I would like to know too. After the match I just had I really would like to know since the killer (Ghostface) was losing badly until he decided to facecamp when an exit was open. I was the only 1 to escape where the rest threw themselves at him and died. Is this ghostface skilled? Does he now deserve to go against a better team? DO I deserve to go against harder because I didn't sacrifice myself to him? What is the skill we're being measured on here?
Yeah. I have the issue that I play a lot and I really mean A LOT of doc and often people kill themselves in the first few minutes of the game because I find them too fast or I dunno. That doesn't make me "skilled".

name them. name the unstoppable perks.
Ruin/Undying, Retribution, HG, Thrill (as a build)
With Piggy going: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAn7baRbhx4
Truly unstoppable...

Honestly, I'm happy with a 2k, but if I can get a 4k, I'm sure as hell gonna get my 4k. I had my fair share of whiny, entitled kids over the years and had to listen to so many complaints in endgame chat (even if I gave the last one hatch because I felt bad), so no more free escapes from me.
I'm even going to slug if Survivors decide to "bully" me and put on NOED if I feel like it, for a nice and salty endgame chat. :)

Bruh I almost forgot about the original theme. We need to start a petition
And run around like in Postal 2, asking people to sign said petition? I'm in!

Really is, I really enjoyed The Oni's and Doc's POV theme. I just hope if they fix this they also re-add event music in the survivor and killer lobby since you can only hear it in the main menu.
Yeah. It would also be nice if you could like swap between old and new themes. There's always a new chapter with its theme and I really miss the original-original piano theme from 2016.
@HollowsGrief said:
This is a bug or intended?
Well... Might not be a bug, considering the twins came out in december last year.
-
@Shroompy said:
since The Twins were added, all killers who had different music on their POV have the same as survivors. Realize that the music cuts out instead of slowly fading away
Really? That's kinda "meh".

ReShade can fix the blurriness of TAA by enabling Luma Sharpen and/or Adaptative Sharpen, but I don't know if the anti cheat system may consider this a (false) positive use hack or cheat and punish you. If a dev can answer this would be nice.
Reshade is whitelisted by EAC and the devs said a longer time ago, that they wont ban you for it, iirc. Don't know, if that holds up to today, tho.

how did u installed this
Reshade/NVIDIA Freestyle. Sharpen via NVIDIA's Control Panel should work too, I think. I'm not going to wait for months, just to MAYBE get the option to turn AA off.
-
First is default, second is with LumaSharpen. Honestly... at that point, I would play with the filter. Looks 10 times better, even if it hits the perfomance like a truck, from time to time.
-
Least they could do, is disable AA for AntiAliasingQuality@0
That way, we could disable AA, by setting AntiAliasingQuality in gameusersettings to 0
-
@[Deleted User] said:
anyone tried disabling AA in the nvidia control panel specifically for the DBD.exe?
Tried that. Doesn't work. The engine/game pretty much forces AA.

While it's still not in game graphic option you can still and should modify you GAMEUSERSETTINGS it still works, you can disable VSYNC and tweak most setting individually.
The engine tweak allowed some people to gain advantage by tweaking redstain and fog etc, I think hence why it's gone.
If they remove the gameusersettings then Imma be real pissed because the game is unplayable if I don't disable VSYNC.
If they do that, they should at least rework the settings and give us all the basic graphics options, like AA, V-Sync, Textures, Effects, Post Processing in-game. It's already annoying to go to the usersettings just to change things.
-
There was this exploit (if you can call it that), that made the red stain much brighter and removed the fog, that was set up in engine. Basically, something that gives you a pretty big advantage. But yeah... something like an option to turn AA off should be a thing. I really hate the blurry textures.
