  • I've been hoping to see a Bioshock chapter for years. And while drilling survivors as a Big Daddy sounds fun, I think an underwater map with Bioshock's atmosphere would be amazing in this game.

How about the 200 million bps worth of prestige I was robbed of? you know only 5-20,000 matches to get to where I rightfully should be. Having every perk in the game 1 minute then magically having half of my perks locked at yellow tier.. You know just for "starters" on what really BAD about this update that has caused numerous of me and my friends to completely quit playing.

If you had every perk pre-patch then you should have every perk post-patch. You should be contacting support about your issue rather than complaining on the forums.

Sorry but its a skill issue and not a design issue if the killer gets dunked on in 4 minutes. And you coping hardcore rn

Saying "its a skill issue" completely ignores the point I'm making, which is that matches in general are longer. Longer matches mean more time to engage in the fun aspects of the game. It being a skill issue is completely irrelevant.

I've mostly been playing survivor since the update released and the game has been a blast. I've had a couple sour matches but it's been great overall. And you say it's not a design issue, but the devs clearly disagree with you. It really sounds like you're the one coping here, bud.

holding M1 longer is fun to you? Seems like BHVR knows the audience to cater to.

Holding m1 longer isn't fun. Want to know what IS fun? Being able to engage in multiple chases a match because the killer doesn't get genrushed in the first 4 minutes is fun. Longer games mean more time to engage in the actually fun part of the game. Crazy concept, I know.

  • So let me get this straight, you tell the new killer player that he probably felt bad about the match. Then when he confirms that he's upset about the match, you go out of your way to make him feel worse about it. Why are you posting this on the forums again?

  • I would absolutely LOVE a Bioshock chapter. Being chased by a big daddy would be terrifying and an underwater map would be really unique.

I'm not a hypocrite at all. I'm happy to use electricity.

I don't believe I've personally insulted anyone and have had no reason to do so. In fact I've been on the receiving end of personal insults for simply stating a factual point (it bothers me not.)

My argument doesn't require any source for validation or accuracy, thus I’ve had no reason to provide one.

I've told no lies. Everything is factual.

The primary concern over this controversy is the environmental impact and to suggest otherwise is to clutch at straws.

I've no stakes in blockchain or anything related.

I don't need to practice what I preach. I'm comfortable with using electricity.

I’d usually respond with more words but it's late, I've got stuff to do, and you get the gist.

Dang dude, you typed a lot and got absolutely zero information across. That's honestly impressive, I doubt I could manage that. You must be experienced.

The fact that NFTs are a scam and people don't want their game to be associated with them seems quite significant to me. That's how I and many others feel about NFTs, I'm not invested in the environmental factors.

You're comfortable with using electricity but you degrade others for using it. Incredible.

You told no lies? Prove it. Simple request. Your "facts" will be taken with a grain of salt until you comply.

If that’s your takeaway then I don't hold out much hope for your success in college, or your future job prospects...or the environment for that matter, if you've anything to say about it 😂

Honestly though, why are you so angry? This has clearly pushed a few buttons.

I couldn't care less about NFTs. I'm simply calling out hypocrisy and fake activism with basic points. The responses I'm getting prove the points I've already made.

It's an absolute, irrefutable fact that the sale of T Shirts on the merc store has had, does have, and will continue to have a considerably greater impact on the environment than anything BHVR is doing with NFTs.

Its not even close! Yet nobody cares! Who could have seem that one coming, right?

You even admit yourself that you just don't care! Why could that be!?

You think you're doing your part and those thoughts could come with good intentions, but the reality is you're supporting and benefiting from a plethora of luxuries which harm the environment everyday, and going to college won't make a dent in your footprint.

You’re in no position to judge anyone.

Telling people that they won't have a successful future simply because they disagree with you is so f*cked up on so many levels, but I don't expect someone like you to acknowledge it. It blows my mind that others here are worried about being removed from the platform when you're saying stuff like this to them. Disgusting.

  • Having this issue on PC, as I'm typing this I've been stuck in a loading screen for about 8 minutes now. I've never had this issue before the recent update. This is definitely up there with some of the worst updates I've seen in this game.

  • @El_Gingero said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2577417#Comment_2577417

    That doesn't refute my argument.

This NFT malarkey is hypocritical. When it comes down to it nobody actually cares enough to do anything other than add to the footprint with excessive forum posts.

Sure, let it be known how unhappy you are with BHVR. I've nothing against that, however at this stage it’s devolved into meaningless circle-jerking.

None of the people posting are going to give up any of their luxuries which harm the environment, so who are they to make demands?

There are far bigger fish to fry than NFTs. Just look at the gaming industry! Yet, we don't see all these gamers up in arms about that. How curious.

The merc store is responsible for a far greater carbon footprint than any of BHVRs involvement with NFTs.

    That's just a fact.

When presented with this fact, nobody cares.

They continue to sit at their gaming PCs, connected to their broadband, posting on the forums of the video game they choose to play, fists shaking at their 4k monitors, horrified and appalled at BHVR, and NFTs.

We could get into blockchain as a whole, or the mobile phone industry, or the automobile industry, so on so forth, and it would simply highlight my point further.

That's crazy, I wonder how making 426 forum posts would affect the environment.

Want to talk about facts? You're just as hypocritical as you claim everyone else is. If you cared about the environment enough to criticize and personally insult people over it then you wouldn't own an electronic device capable of doing so in the first place. It's a contradiction that people like you completely fail to even recognize. Let's stop talking about other people; what have YOU done to help the environment? You seem to love talking about everyone else, but I don't see how what you're doing is much different. The only difference is that you're blaming the consumer while the consumers are blaming the company.

You know what's crazy about posting "facts" on the internet? You have to share a source if you want anyone to take you seriously. Continuing to push the "fact" that the merch store has a greater carbon footprint than NFTs while refusing to share any legitimate source is quite telling.

I hope you realize that people are upset about NFTs for many more reasons than simply their environmental impact. Even if the lies you regurgitated were true, that wouldn't dissuade anyone from hating BHVR for associating with NFTs. I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish here.

I know what your real issue is; you're simply upset that people are talking about the NFT situation. It's obvious that you don't actually care about the environment seeing as you're still here, and if you were simply annoyed by the discussions then you wouldn't have started one yourself. I don't know what stakes you have in blockchains or Boss Protocol, but you definitely have stakes in something of the like if you're serious about your takes. If I'm wrong then your solution is simple; stop posting here. You're destroying the environment by simply looking at this. This is a good opportunity for you to practice what you preach.

  • My favorite perk combo on weak m1 killers is Pop, Surge and Eruption. If you pop a gen that had a lot of progress, survivors will want to come back to the gen after you leave. Eruption protects those gens when you're committing to chases further away. It's especially nice when you have a solid 3 gen going. I would definitely replace Thana with this.

The fourth perk is up to you. I'm assuming you're using BBQ for the bloodpoints but I recommend Tinkerer or even Thrilling if you're using a gen defense build. Tinkerer is especially good here since you'll be able to more accurately determine if you can get a down to activate Eruption before the gen gets finished.

Is your enter button broken or something?

The map is fine. Being chased through it is a lot scarier than being chased on all the other maps for me. Every map doesn't have to be specifically designed for every killer to be able to use their power with ease. The map takes a lot of getting used to and as I said it hasn't even been out long enough for people to really learn it. I suppose any map though that isn't completely killer sided will be complained about by them because you know DBD is all about the sweat and try hards and not about having fun...

    But this map isn't fun.

Being stealthy and genrushing is not fun and is incredibly boring to do as survivor. The fun in this game is being chased. But chases on this map are incredibly boring because nearly every single killer in the game can't use their power effectively. This means that most killers essentially turn into m1 killers. Want to know the best strat against m1 killers? Holding W, which again, is incredibly boring. There is almost no fun gameplay to be had on this map for survivor.

It's also really bad on the killer's side. As I mentioned before, most killers basically turn into m1 killers on this map. This is a problem that the Hawkins map has, but that map is a lot smaller and the layout actually makes sense so it's more than manageable on that map. RPD is enormous and the layout is confusing. Even if someone knew the layout of the map perfectly, it would still be awful because there's a lot of narrow pathing which makes it extremely hard to defend gens. Gameplay on this map for most killers is mostly boring and borderline unwinnable (against good survivors, obviously.)

"Every map doesn't have to be specifically designed for every killer to be able to use their power with ease." This is true, Huntress on Lery's makes your statement accurate. But there's a difference between a map being bad for some killers and a map being bad for almost all killers. I'm pretty sure the only killers that don't struggle on this map are Wraith and Spirit. Mobility is really important on large maps, and this is the largest map in the game. They are also the only killers that have mobility that work on this map. My point here is that maps have to be designed with killers in mind. It's a little something called game balance. If a map is made with zero consideration for the killers and their powers, it's designed poorly.

"I suppose any map though that isn't completely killer sided will be complained about by them because you know DBD is all about the sweat and try hards and not about having fun..." People are complaining because it isn't fun, what are you even talking about? Stop trying to devolve the conversation with petty insults. The guy you replied to was respectful towards you, there's no need to be so hostile.

A true genrush happens one out of every 30 games. That's being generous.

He said gen speeds are fast and your response is basically that survivors don't genrush often, right? If that's truly your opinion then surely you want Nurse to be buffed, no? After all, her winrate is very low and only 1 out of 100 nurse players are really good with her.

    a. Most SWF teams are just friends playing together, not some sweaty de-pip squad.

    b. killers should have to work for their hits and not have times where, regardless of what the survivor does, they get a hit in.

    These are not mutually exclusive

    I agree, nerf Legion

1 it’s not ptw if it is available for free

2 it’s also not ptw if it doesn’t give a massive advantage over other players someone without those perks could still easily beat someone with them

3 ptw is like cod bo4 with the stingray that was only purchasable and was like a burst fire rpg that you could not escape from

You're contradicting yourself here. The Stingray in bo4 was available for free if you got lucky enough to get it in a loot box. The perks in dbd are the same, you have to get lucky to see the perk you want in the shrine of secrets.

You don't need to have the Stingray to win matches in the same way you don't need perks to win matches. The point is that you're at a massive disadvantage for not having them, so it's still ptw. There is no difference.

Funnily enough, bo4's current loot box system is less ptw than dbd. If you play enough games then you can get any one dlc weapon of your choosing for free, and you can keep doing that to get every dlc weapon. In dbd, you have to play a lot of games and potentially wait a year or longer to get the perk you want from the shrine of secrets. Anyone that doesn't think this is p2w doesn't know what p2w means.

  • I've been experiencing the full brunt of this while playing Legion on Xbox. When I use Feral Frenzy to vault pallets, I often get stuck inside of them. This has been happening at least 2-3 times a match.

    http://imgur.com/a/Uj4izFC

Legion was already difficult to perform well with, but not being able to reliably use his power half the time is lame.

  • So as a killer, I have to sit there and do nothing for a minute because you want some bloodpoints? And you don't see the issue with that? 800 bp isn't the end of the world, if you're playing this game enough to complain about it on the forums then you'll probably make enough bp in your next match to get that brown offering you wanted :)

  • I can relate, I've only been playing this game for about 3 months myself. I'll try to help out if I can.

Matchmaking is quite terrible with killer, that's for sure. My first month playing I was stuck in yellow/green ranks and I was frequently facing red ranks, oftentimes in swf. The disappointment of knowing I had little to no chance of winning compounded by the toxicity (flashlight clicking, tbagging, rude comments post-game) made me want to quit a few times. I regret admitting to this, but I resorted to facecamping with Leatherface a few times out of frustration. I almost quit playing killer entirely. But after watching a few streamers like TrU3Ta1ent and Otzdarva play killer, I really wanted to be at that level. It looked really fun to be a skillful high rank killer, so I grinded out a lot of killer games to practice. I watched games from the aforementioned streamers and other high level players to analyze their gameplay and attempt to implement what I learn into my own games. I closely looked at their movement at every loop, the mindgames they use, how they juggled survivors, etc. I rose to purple ranks my second month playing and I'm now currently at rank 1 playing a variety of killers. Best advice I can give is to not focus on winning, but to focus on improving. Take your losses against red rank swf groups in stride and use them as a way to get better in areas you may struggle in (ending chases quick, pressuring gens, juggling and not getting tunnel-visioned, etc). Do your best to not let toxic survivors get the better of you because you know that one day, you're going to be able to destroy survivors like that with ease. Last tip, avoid bringing Moris and overly strong add-ons (for example, Iridescent Head on Huntress) and DEFINITELY avoid using NOED. These mechanics can encourage bad habits in your gameplay that you'll want to avoid if you're trying to improve.

Now for survivor gameplay, I've never had too much of an issue. The game never forced me to play against good killers when I first started playing and by the time I got up to purple ranks, I already had the basics of looping killers and optimizing gens down for the most part. That was mostly due to all of the survivor gameplay I watched, but it was definitely a lot more chill compared to my grind playing killer. Aside from improving your performance at loops, the best advice I can give when playing solo queue survivor is to play in a very selfish manner. Don't focus on helping your team for the sake of it, focus on doing objectives that increase your emblem score. Work on gens whenever you get the chance and never find yourself not doing something. Unhook and heal survivors only until you feel confident that you secured an iridescent medal in benevolence, completely avoid doing unnecessary altruistic actions afterwards. I know that sounds terrible, but the solo queue experience will usually pair you with survivors that will hardly do anything all match. In those cases, it's every man for themselves in my eyes. Make sure you get some points in chaser, especially if the killer was kinda potato and you couldn't get many points in benevolence as a result. Escaping should never be your priority, if you get downed once during the match then the only thing escaping will do is give you gold instead of silver in survival. As long as you focus solely on your emblem score, getting depipped will be unlikely so it's just a matter of playing a lot of games. Only times you may depip are if a killer tunnels you at the start of the match and facecamps you all game, especially if they have a mori. It usually won't happen enough to affect your rank though and if you're good at looping, you can at least make them regret tunneling you. And last but not least, do not let playing survivor stress you out. Survivor games are supposed to be a break from killer games, if it starts getting to you then you may want to take a short break from the game entirely (maybe play some Civ 5 lol).

Just make sure to leave out the quote where I state they released escape ratios 4-5 months ago that showed all killers had above a 50 percent kill rate at red ranks. 3-4 killers had around a 74 percent kill rate at red ranks. https://steamcommunity.com/app/381210/discussions/0/1658943116244837815/

How would you interpret that data? If you are going by kill rates, you have to come to conclusion that this game, regarding escape/kill rates, is killer favored. If you don't come to that conclusion, you can't interpret data.

Yeah, I saw those stats as well. Apparently, those stats only applied to red rank killers (it didn't matter if they got matched up against rainbow rank survivors) and games where survivors dc or let themselves die on first hook still applied to the stats (this matters because a 1v3 is way easier than a 1v4). I would take them with a grain of salt.

They stopped posting stats for a variety of reasons, but one of the reasons was because people were asking them to nerf killers with their entire argument revolving around the stats. Just like you're doing right now.

  • I would definitely suggest trying Shadowborn, it's an odd perk choice for most killers but I think the fov change feels great on her in particular.

I'm All Ears is another perk that I wouldn't suggest for most killers, but I think Huntress gets some benefits from the temporary wallhacks, especially with a few of the loops she struggles with. This one is a lot more situational and it's very hit or miss for sure (this perk is legitimately good on Nurse though.)

Brutal Strength is alright just because you can quickly ready up a hatchet throw after breaking a pallet, though she struggles a lot less with pallets compared to most other killers so it may feel like a waste of a perk slot depending on how you play.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1200270#Comment_1200270

Yeah but you don’t understand how it’s just not realistically possible without team communication and even then I think some of the killers are just too much. I play with randoms in red ranks as survivor against red rank killers and I see it all the time. killers running on people. Yes, the first few gens fly, but honestly I agree with this guy it’s not fun to have to loop the killer for 10 minutes as the only viable option of escaping and they’re taking away what little spots survivors can get really good at running. Most Killers are already built to end chases fast. They take and take and take from survivors and tbh it’s just not fun to come in and stare at a progress bar waiting to die for you. Especially when they keep tampering with gen speed. Making maps smaller is not the right move. I get they want to encourage more people to play killer. But it’s gonna be an swf only game at that point . No point in playing solo, so I think I’ll uninstall. It’s that serious. Killers mow people down and camp hooks and Mori them? Nah. Balance isn’t giving killers more than they already have. And I’m a purple rank killer. I main plague and I get 3-4K every game. Entitled are the killer mains. Certain maps that are bigger I think it’s easier for survivors. But with them going for smaller map designs, longer gen time. Nahhhh. Survivors dead imo. I don’t wanna play.

If killer is as easy as you imply then there's zero reason for you not to be red rank as killer yet. I've seen you make so many posts on the forums about how easy killer is so why can't you do it? In this post alone you're bragging about getting easy 3-4ks, so getting red ranks shouldn't be an issue unless you're lying.

I'm rank 1 with both survivor and killer and when I play survivor, I play solo queue. I get teammates with urban evasion that crouch around the map not doing gens, I get teammates that hide in lockers and can't last longer than 10 seconds in a chase. I occasionally play against survivors like that when I play killer. Does that mean the game is killer sided? Of course not! You have to keep in mind that's it's incredibly easy to pip and black pip as survivor, so all they have to do to be in red ranks is play the game a lot and boom, red rank. They can be absolute potatoes but it doesn't matter because you don't need to escape to rank up. Is it enjoyable getting potatoes frequently? No, it isn't. But that's entirely the fault of the game's poor ranking system, it has nothing to do with the game being killer sided or whatever agenda you want to push. When killers struggle against GOOD (emphasis on GOOD) survivors, those are the survivors that they should be matched up against most of the time. Those are the games that people want the game to be balanced around, and if the future mmr system is good, I almost guarantee you'll want it to be balanced around those games as well (assuming you're good of course). I could care less about matches with potato survivors, they have to get good like the rest of us did and doesn't at all equate to killers being op.

  • I was having quite a bit of fun with Deathslinger the first couple weeks after his release but he's an incredibly weak killer, and this becomes more apparent the longer you use him. I play fps games regularly and I was expecting to get quite a bit of mileage with him, so I'm quite disappointed to say the least.

For starters, I absolutely hate using killers that are easy to bully. There are very few killers in this game that get bullied easily unless you play poorly, but Deathslinger is absolutely the easiest to take advantage of simply due to the nature of his power. Survivors can bodyblock speared teammates so easily it's insane, and I encourage anyone reading this to try it out the next time you face this killer. You can completely deny him hits by doing this, which is terrible for Deathslinger because he's slow and has to reload after missing, giving yourself and your teammate all the time in the world to run from him. I have only seen swf groups do this so far, but I feel that it'll become a lot more common after a few months just because it's so easy to do. I've done it a few times as a solo queue survivor and it's happened to me more times than I can count while playing Deathslinger.

Next, I feel his ability to end chases quick is greatly exaggerated. Yes, he can end chases incredibly quick IF he has multiple stacks of Save the Best for Last and IF the survivor is out of position. But good survivors will not be out of position often and will not let you get the first m1 easily, which you need to get to do the combo. If the survivor is in a good position then it's often best to just shoot them to get them injured, but you waste a lot of time reloading afterwards and occasionally taking a stun by letting the chain break if you need to. While the survivor is injured, all they have to do to avoid getting downed quick at a loop is to do the same thing you do vs Clown; drop the pallet early. I understand that this doesn't work for every pallet in the game, but it works for most pallets and the majority of pallets it doesn't work on are mindgameable anyway. Deathslinger has to either break the pallet, giving them a lot of time to run away, or waste time trying to either get the survivor to make a mistake or put them in a very specific position that allows you to land a shot and pull them around something to get the hit off. Either way, this wastes a lot of very valuable time for Deathslinger. Let me just put this disclaimer here: I'm not trying to say his 1v1 is bad by any means. But when I see some people on the forums talk about Deathslinger, they act as if he ends chases instantly and that there's zero counterplay which definitely isn't the case. There are also a few killers with way better 1v1 potential like Spirit and Nurse, and their powers help them for a lot more than simply ending chases quick.

Additionally, he gets punished a great deal more than most other killers for making mistakes. Whenever he misses, he has a brief cooldown where he's slowed while the chain comes back and he then has to reload which also slows him down. Whenever he hits a spear on an injured survivor and can't get the m1, he has a brief cooldown after the missed m1 and has to reload which, again, slows him down. Correct me if I'm wrong, but no other killer in the game gets punished this badly for mistakes. And I call them mistakes, but sometimes you just get screwed over by dedicated servers and get punished regardless.

All of this is pretty terrible, but that's on top of being a 110% killer with no mobility. In my mind, he is without a doubt the single worst 110% killer there is and one of the worst killers in the game. His 1v1 is decent but still not the best and his gen pressure is mostly nonexistent.

I think the one big positive he does have is his reduced and unique terror radius, which does give him some decent stealth. However, it's less useful against swf and it's neutered if the survivors have Object of Obsession or Spine Chill. If people classify him as a stealth killer then he's definitely the worst stealth killer (you could argue that Pig is worse I suppose).

In case anyone is wondering, I'm a rank 1 killer and I run Monitor and Abuse, Save the Best for Last, Brutal Strength and Pop Goes the Weasel. Nurses Calling can work over Brutal Strength but I don't think it's nearly as consistent, especially on a build without Sloppy Butcher.

ive "admitted"? Dude you cant shame me for something i openly said in a thread. LOL. Try harder next time. if i WANTED to i could play on my gaming mouses or one of my controllers. I choose not to. And because i play on touchpad i dont loop if were even talking about the same looping which i dont think we are. Also the season just started i opened up my dbd in the last 4 weeks an hour before i made this thread. im already back in purple. purple is my zone. i dont go to red. i dont like red. The ways you guys act like its so hard to get from 9 green to purple. thats like one level. calm down. it may not be something you can do but i can and im not asking anyone to cater to me. little less try hard sweety and more reading comprehension.

How does that change anything I said? Did you completely ignore the point of my reply just to talk trash? You are at a lower rank playing on a touch pad and can't loop. That is something that you admitted to. I'm not shaming you, I'm repeating what you said.

Looping, as in running around a jungle gym or a normal pallet loop. Is there some other action that counts as looping for survivor mains?

It is not hard to get from green to purple, like at all. I haven't had this game for very long and I've been getting to rank 1 for the last few months. I'm not saying this to brag, getting to rank 1 is hardly an achievement. But you heavily implied I can't get out of green ranks which seems comical to me.

Just so you know, I play both sides 50/50 and don't have any issue with survivors looping me. If a survivor loops me for a while at jungle gyms or TL walls or whatever then awesome, they used skill to outplay me. The issue I have is godloops that require 0 skill that a survivor can run to and be effectively invincible for a set amount of time.

So let me ask, why do you feel inclined to argue with anyone over the balance of this game when you play on a touchpad and can't loop? I'm genuinely curious. You supposedly don't even use the loops that the update is addressing so idk what you're even complaining about.

I play on my laptop keyboard and mouse. And if im being honest i dont even play on my mouse because i loathe the feel of my gming mouse. Im on my touchpad bro lmao. So if youve ever complained about not getting me its because you were trash. i cant loop on a touchpad. All you have to do is walk at me and youll catch up. And design flaws? ######### does that even mean. I didnt build the map. i didnt know there were designated areas killers called design flaws. are all areas of the map supposed to make it easy for you? my bad. i thought this game was balanced. And were already struggling. You guys love to act like you dont go around slugging the whole team as soon as we have two gens left. The game play then becomes toxic asf and you guys do the most to achieve youre 4k. At any point in time in the game the killer can take over a match especially if were practicing altruism. Ill let them ppl bleed out and escape. And then when i didnt fall trap to your lil bait and slug you all get pissy and toxic in chat cause i didnt walk over and let you kill me.

So let me get this straight, you openly admitted to playing on a touchpad, not being able to loop, and being a green rank survivor. Yet you somehow have the audacity to complain about balance changes? I'm sorry the devs aren't catering to green ranks playing on touchpads LMAO. That's a yikes from me, chief.

If Nea would crouch to get a save wasting so much time hag would still get to basement cause she was already there . You missed that?

Depip Squad is a lot more in line with what you expect from good swf group ? Because they didnt record the rounds where they get dominated. Have you seen tournament of them against tournament monsters?

The Nea actually did have time to crouch and get the save, if you actually looked at the video or even my timestamps you can literally count how much time she had. Even in the worst case scenario, they could have simply traded and that would have given the team plenty of time to finish gens. Alternatively, if the Nea was so confident in looping that she would follow the killer around the map then why didn't a teammate go for the save while Nea had her distracted? Even if the team would lose some momentum with only one person working on a gen, as long as they got away from the basement they would have been fine. Letting a teammate get one-hooked is definitely not the play.

They didn't record the rounds they got dominated? Yikes, did you even watch any of the games they played because it sounds like you're just making stuff up now. They played on stream, they literally didn't have the option of not recording games even if they wanted to.

Again, tournaments don't mean much. They make their own custom rules; that alone makes tournament games mostly irrelevant when looking at balance in this game. That aside, just because matches have the word "tournament" on them doesn't mean they're high quality games, and I think I more than proved that point in my earlier comment.

It's the game. I have almost 3k hours on Xbox. I've played on an OG Xbox One and Xbox One X (currently). Things got slightly better when I switched to the X but a lot of stuff is still there. Here is a list...

    1) The game suffers a massive lag spike anytime a notification pops up. Any Hex or perk activation makes everyone, killer and survivor, suffer frame drops. Getting bloodlust as killer causes frame drops. Using your power as some killers (Hag, Doc, falling asleep V Freddy) causes frame drops. The most egregious offender here is Sloppy Butcher, as it will lag the game for a full 3 seconds sometimes when you get hit.

    2) Going off #1, opening a chest causes frame drops for all players. This can actually kill survivors on a hook in phase 2, as it interrupts their struggle and the game thinks they let go.

    3) Matchmaking is completely busted. As survivor you can wait AGES for a game, when I know for a fact there are plenty of killers playing at the time. As killer I find games almost instantly. Ranks are all over the place, it's as if they aren't even considered. I get green rank killers as rank 1 survivor, and rank 18's as red rank killer, regularly. You could argue there aren't many killers online, but the problem was the exact opposite about a year ago. It would take me 5-10 minutes to find a game as killer, and less than a minute as survivor. After the update last March things switched overnight, and have steadily been getting worse since.

    4) The game crashes constantly or boots you from games for no reason. I was playing in a 4 man, my friend searched a chest as I was disarming a trap (Trapper) and when she finished searching the chest it booted both of us from the game as if the killer quit. We only knew they didn't quit because our 2 other friends were still in the game and told us.

    5) Going off #4 we regularly have to restart the game after a match because the SWF lobby gets bugged and shows people not ready or in a game when they are in the lobby and ready on their screen.

The game is a mess on Xbox right now. And there is ABSOLUTELY no excuse for the poor frame rate or frame drops. NONE. My Xbox One X is probably more powerful than most PC's on the market. I can play Gears 4/5 at 4k resolution and 60fps with no issue. I got DOOM Eternal and that game runs butter smooth at 60fps despite there being a ton of stuff happening, with really good graphics and lots of effects. Never did the game hitch or drop frames during the entire campaign, even with 15 enemies on the screen and me moving at 100 MPH around glory killing everything.

I have frame rate issues with Borderlands 3 as well. Even the new Ori game has some kind of frame rate issue, I think that one's a memory leak though because it gets worse the longer your play session. But this isn't because on my console, it's because the developers failed to optimize the game. It seems no one outside id or The Coalition know how to make a game run smoothly on Xbox. Or, more likely, they simply do not care enough to make sure it runs properly because they think they can just port the game to console, do the bare minimum needed for it to run and play well, and call it a day.

You can also tell no one at these companies play their games on console because of how controls are set up. This is one area that bothered me with DOOM Eternal, as the game requires constant movement yet the base controls are not bumper jumper. Anyone who actually plays shooting games on console would realize this as a necessity in the first 60 seconds of playing the game. I will give id credit though, the game runs amazingly well on Xbox, and you can customize controls so I guess I can't complain about this too much. But it's very common for any game that was basically ported from PC to have sub-optimal control layouts for the base controls. DBD is the same thing, though I've been playing with a custom layout since day 1 so I can't even for the life of me remember what the base control scheme is. All I know is that it sucks balls if you actually intend to play the game with some level of optimization and skill. Everyone I know set up their own controls different from the base, which just proves how sub-optimal the base layout is and how little effort the developers actually put into making the game on console.

The problems on Xbox are 100% the developers not giving a #########, because the console (even the base model) can definitely handle the game at 60 fps. Both Gears of War and DOOM Eternal are way WAY more graphically intensive than DBD, yet they both run amazing while DBD plays like a stop motion Tim Burton film a lot of the time.

I'm so glad someone else is having the same issues! I haven't had frame drops from playing doc or opening chests but pretty much every other issue you mentioned has been problematic for me. ESPECIALLY trying to play this game with friends, after every couple matches or so we'll all have to reset our games because of some bug that prevents us from playing together. Sometimes it'll put 1 or 2 people in a match while everyone else is still sitting in the lobby, sometimes my friends will ready up but it won't tell me they're readied up on my end and it won't look for a match. Whenever these issues pop up, simply starting a new lobby never works so we all just restart our games and hope for the best. Sometimes this isn't good enough so we resort to restarting our consoles, it's ridiculous. If it matters, I use the original Xbox One while my friends use the Xbox One S and Xbox One X. We all have the same issues you described for the most part.

I'll pick apart this video. At 2:30 the Nea is still able to see the Hag when she stopped to place traps. At 3:15 the Nea activates one of the traps despite knowing that the Hag slowed down to place traps earlier. At 3:50 the Nea ran away from several amazing pallet loops. The Hag didn't break any of those pallets and didn't place a single trap at any of those loops yet the Nea still ran away from them and scored the Hag a free hit. Notice while this chase is happening that the teammate has already hit second stage and no one is going to save her. Also notice that despite over 3 minutes having passed, only 2 gens are done. The Hag has only chased 2 survivors so far, so what are the other 2 survivors doing? Either they can't hit Ruin skillchecks or someone is running around looking for Ruin. This definitely doesn't suggest high level play either way. At 4:18 you can see a lit up totem next to a generator that is being worked on. Yikes. At 4:38 the hooked survivor died and was thus one-hooked despite the killer not camping them. I have never even seen this happen in solo queue, it should never be happening in a tournament game. At 5:06 Nea attempts to bodyblock for Feng and then just randomly stops, letting the Feng go down and get hooked. The Nea could have been working on a gen but decided to mess around instead. At 5:45 Claudette sprint bursted yet still managed to be in range of the Hag. This was just horrible movement, she did not have to get hit there at all. At 6:16 Hag finds Nea. Nea could have unhooked her teammate with all the time the Hag spent with the Claudette and placing traps and breaking the gen but nope, she was just chilling out the whole time that was happening I guess. At 7:30 Feng ran to a tile where the pallet was broken, this is just incredibly poor communication on her teams part. The Nea failed to bodyblock properly earlier while the Feng was two-hooked and either didn't have DS or she missed the skillcheck and she dies on hook. We find out later that the Hag was using PWYF! Do you know why this is significant? The Nea was feeding her stacks of PWYF the entire game. Every time the Nea showed up in front of the Hag to either get her attention or fail a bodyblock, she gave her a stack. Despite how poorly these survivors played, they still managed to finish all the gens with Ruin up and 2 people escaped! Imagine how poorly this would have turned out for the Hag if the survivors actually played well.

The next match is just embarrassing. The Hag hardly got anything done at all and it looked like an easy win for the survivors up until the point where there was only 1 gen left to do and... the survivors somehow managed to 3 gen themselves on Coldwind. Against Hag. The first survivor gets one-hooked (again), the second survivor gets two-hooked and tunneled out of the game after getting unhooked (again), and the Hag just wins from there because of the 3 gen. Oddly enough, the survivors could have gotten themselves out of that 3 gen pretty easily by crouching up the stairs to the gen upstairs or when the Hag left the 3 gen after slugging the third guy. In fact, the last 3 survivors could have just ditched the gens entirely and looked for a key to escape via hatch if they wanted to. However, the easiest solution is to simply not let Hag get the 3 gen. It didn't look like she was trying especially hard to secure that endgame 3 gen, it could have very easily been avoided and it definitely SHOULD have been avoided considering that they're on comms.

And that is my long observation of the video. The survivors didn't play well, but the killer didn't do all too well either. Granted, I think Hag did okay considering the map she was playing on but the survivors played very, very poorly. I definitely don't think this is at all representative of even red rank play and this definitely isn't gameplay I would look at when balancing the game.

Please don't misunderstand my intentions with this, I didn't make this comment to undermine or berate anyone. This simply isn't representative of high level play, that's all. Marth's depip squad is a lot more in line with what I expect from a good swf group. Even if you want to argue that survivors playing in solo queue is fine, the game is definitely not balanced with swf in mind because 4 survivors playing optimally is crazy to go against and pops up more frequently than you imply.

  • When you mention slugging, I'm just going to assume you mean downing and one-hooking everyone. The difference is that survivors are rewarded for rushing gens while the killer is punished for slugging. The killer would be lucky to get a black pip ending a game that fast and getting so few hooks. The bp earned for slugging is minimal while bp earned for gen rushing is much higher considering you can farm for more points while the gates are at 99%.

Watch the rest of the games . Im not saying it wasnt a big mistake.

Or i guess you already watched and you found only one game where you could point out something valid?

Again. Lets start with first game. Killer is hag . Both killers did good on SURVIVOR SIDED map aganst high level SWF on COMMS, exhaustion perks recover on the run plus old DS . And as you like to say if first hag wouldnt do MISTAKE and would ignore that pallet she would noed third survivor and get three kills. What you have to say?

But at the same time you saying the game should be balanced around TOP SURVIVORS that you meet once a year? I dont play killer on regular basis but i can count on my fingers how many times i lost to survivors this year.

How do you play against Hag? You sit on gens and do nothing to disarm her traps?

Okay, let's look at the first game then. The Hag hooked someone in the basement and they literally got one-hooked because the obnoxious Meg that wasn't doing anything productive saw where the Hag placed her trap yet didn't think to crouch by it. If this game took place before you could crouch around Hag traps (unlikely but possible) then the downed survivor seriously screwed over their team by getting downed near the basement. That is 100% their fault and a horrible, HORRIBLE play. Later, we can see from the Hag's perspective that there was a lit up hex totem right next to the gen that the survivors were working on. How does that even happen??? Are the survivors just blind or deaf or both, the hex was literally creating light that was visible from the other side of the wall and none of them thought to cleanse it. The Meg ran away from several amazing pallets and loops that would have either forced the Hag to break the pallet or forced her to place a trap, which gave the Hag free hits. Those are just a handful of very simple yet horrible mistakes that were made, and that's WITH all the crazy stuff that survivors had at the time. And that's only in the first game. Yikes. If the devs looked at games like these for balance, killers would get nerfed to oblivion.

I'm not saying the game should be balanced around the best of the best swf groups, I'm saying it should be balanced around survivors that know how to stay on gens and aren't absolutely terrible at looping. If you're at red ranks and fail at one of these then you shouldn't be at red ranks, much less playing in a tournament.

Yes, I do sit on gens and do nothing to disarm her traps. The map is enormous and if she can't teleport to you, she's a basic m1 killer with 110% movement speed. There is no reason why 3 gens shouldn't pop by the time the Hag can even walk to the gens after hooking someone. Additionally, if everyone is on a different gen then that's AT LEAST 3 tiles that everyone knows for sure haven't been trapped, they're on Coldwind so that should be about 5 or more tiles without traps that everyone knows about because they're on comms. Later in the match, if there's a tile that I'm unsure about then I can run through it real quick to see if it's been trapped while the Hag is carrying someone or busy across the map. All of this is very doable when playing solo and incredibly easy when playing on comms yet this team still failed at it, lol.

I could go out of my way to pick at huge mistakes in every one of the games you shared, but it's a waste of time. If a team is losing against a slow killer on enormous maps with all of the advantages survivors had at the time then that should speak bounds about the quality of the tournament games you're sharing.

I don't care how many games you claim to have lost this year, it means nothing to me. I'm not saying this to be mean. Either you don't play this game often or you're literally a god at this game or you're lying, it doesn't matter because it isn't a valid argument. It's curious though, if you're the amazing red rank killer that you imply you are then how are you unable to recognize how bad those tournament games are?

You never once said that to me. And you should not need another person to justify my claims, I justified them myself. Many. Times. Over.

When arguing with a person you discuss with them directly, not with someone who is not even involved in the conversation, and if there was someone else I gather that if they agreed with me you would ignore their points as you did mine, and if they agreed with you then you would just claim that I do not know anything as you did before without actually providing an argument.

Your refusal to provide an argument only shows that you do not have one.

I am done here. This is like talking to a wall and expecting it to move.

There is no point in arguing with him. If he legitimately thinks that a Claudette trying to unhook someone against a camping Hillbilly is representative of high level play then there is nothing you can say that will convince him of anything. For some reason, he believes that the game has to be balanced around survivors playing against handpicked killers with custom tournament rules despite the fact that it's impossible to play the game this way unless you're in a custom game. He's legitimately arguing that it's okay for a survivor to run around and follow the killer all game, I mean seriously? What could you possibly say to convince someone when they're thoughts about how the game is played are so wildly off base?
