There is no issue at hand. There is only your offensive comments. This Forum has rules. Everyone could look them up before opting in. Everyone can look them up now. All of us who are approved to post here had to agree to abide by them. Some people are choosing not to do so. They get warned (usually a couple times)and finally banned. That isn't an issue. They agreed to a certain level of behavior, and failed to meet it. You appear to think there should be exceptions made. That isn't how this works.
The fact of the matter is that there ARE exceptions being made. What use are rules if ambassadors and CM's don't have to live by the same rules? That's the reason of this whole debacle, the fact that some people seem to be above the law.

No they are not. I'm not going to get the rhetorical sledgehammer out yet, but I am going to demonstrate WHY they are not the least bit the same. If you continue after I demonstrate this, then I will feel compelled to give you a proper lesson and at length. Your hyperbole inference basically discussed the persecution of the Jews (one would assume in Nazi Germany but anywhere would work) and implied that people didn't stand up to it because if they did they would be punished or affect their ability to remain in that community.
These are not the same because:
- Living in a town or country where you are born, raised, and your entire life is located is not the same as just some Forum where you one day chose to sign in (and agreed to abide by their rules) on a whim. One is not a choice, the other is a choice.
- Comparing enforcing the rules of the Forum to the persecution of Jews is tantamount to calling our Moderators murdering Nazis. The people being persecuted in your deeply offensive hyperbole never agreed to any rules. They never got a say. The people persecuting them are monsters. People who join this Forum did agree to the rules and thus these are apples and oranges.
I have left my own ethnic heritage out of this discussion, but I'm happy to bring it in and really get deep down on why this is horrific. Do you care to continue or are you willing to let this lie.
The difference in our arguements is the fact that you wish to focus on my hyperbole because in general it gives you the moral highground while I argue the issue at hand.

Using offensive hyperbole and then saying you recognize it is hyperbole does NOT excuse the poor behavior. That is like calling someone a racial epithet and then just saying, "just joking," or saying something obnoxious and adding a smiley face to try and cover your tracks if you are called on it. The Forum has rules. Nobody forces you to stay on this Forum. You agreed to said rules. If you don't like them, you can leave. Do not equate this to real world persecution. It offensive beyond words.
I dont equate, I merely argue the principles are the same. And this is a public forum, not some high end private club you are a part of. I have not yet broken any rules and my analogy is not offensive in the slightest. Your analogy however is wrong. I did not insult a community and then say haha JK, I presented an extreme example of the same thing happening here. The principle stands be it extreme or not and using said arguement is not offensive in the slightest. Its not apples and oranges in the grand scheme of all of this. Yes, no one is getting physically harmed or even mentally but they are getting silenced. I could make a different analogy and say this is like living in a communist country where going against the people in power be it just or unjust will get you a trip to jail either way.

This is not some a fascist regime. This is a private club. You agreed to the terms (as did everyone else) when you signed up to this Forum. Nobody is impinging on your free speech. You are free to go form your OWN club, put up your own forum, and set your own rules. Comparing this situation, a forum (which people join of their own free will, agree to the rules, and can leave at any time) to real world persecution is deeply offensive. The fact that you don't even understand the depth of what you just implied over something that is not only apples and oranges, but also unimportant, demonstrates a total lack of social skills and/or understanding of basic ethics.
And also private clubs require an invitation from members of said group, THIS is a PUBLIC forum.

Did you even read my post? Because it literally stated its was hyperbole and i emphasised it multiple times. This is a forum for a game where people can discuss stuff. People are getting banned ingame for things they say that the devs/mods dislike. Not only that the "ambassadors" of this game (fogwhisperers) bait people into saying ######### to get them banned by their CM friends while being granted immunity for doing the same thing because they are buddies with the higher ups. The arguement that "this is how the world works" which this post tries to make clear is so weak. Forums are made to both compliment or criticise the devs for decisions they make and have discussions about it. If they are going to ban everyone who doesn't shill for this game or has some valid criticism about the community and the state it's in due to community managers endorcing certain behaviour my point still stands. Yes I joined the forums and agreed to certain terms but if devs wont deal with concerns voiced on a platform that is literally there for that there is no point in this at all. Not being able to voice your opinion in fear of getting banned from a community of a game you still play and are a part of is opression 101.

In the face of the recent trend of criticising certain practices and people, I think there are things that need to be cleared up a little.
It saddens me to see so many users penalised and posts removed. It appears that many people fall for a misconception regarding the way things are operated.
Please, don´t assume that everyone is subject to the same rules and standards. We as customers are just guests here in the forum, for example.
Some are free to break the rules of DBD. They are also free to act in a toxic way, to hurt others and to get them banned, unpenalised as they please. There is nothing you can do about it. You may dislike it, but you may not bring it up if you want to continue being part of the community.
Most of what has been brought up recently is already known by many people. All that is achieved by posts addressing certain issues is the poster getting banned. Some things have to be discussed elsewhere.
The forums have much more to offer. Personally I really enjoy being able to interact and exchange opinions with other community members. There´s great stuff to read here. People looking for help or advice usually get these in an impressively nice manner.
Please stop criticising the wrong people, it´s neither news nor will it change anything about the way things are. Let´s instead focus on productive or engaging things that are allowed, we are not entitled to fairness.
Just my 2 cents
"You may dislike it, but you may not want to bring it up if you want to continue being part of this community"
Thos is the most painful part of this whole post. It's like we're in some fascist regime.
"You may not want to persecute the jews but you may have to if you want to be part of our community."
This is extreme hyperbole ofcourse but it's the same principle. Both cases are bad (yes one more so than the other) and we're just supposed to take it and eat the ######### they serve us.
BHVR needs to get their ######### together instead of silencing those who actually care enough about this community to weed out the toxic shits in high places risking bans. You making this post and the comments made say a lot about the community itself and the blind eyes people turn toward the behaviour of its management.

None of what you said is an argument as to why his free zoning/hits is good for the game. Slinger complaints are not new, with this being his most common criticism.
btw I play Nurse, she's fine but okay
There is so much bs on survivor side that's not good for the game but that always gets forgotten. 2-3 gens popping after the 1st pretty short chase, hatch (free undeserved win), keys, instaheals, medkits healing in 5 seconds for a max of 4 times or so,... but no lets nerf an above average killer who will be trash after the change because god knows he will be. I dont believe you mainly play nurse either and if so not at high ranks.

@BigTimeGamer said:
From the update:
"Currently the Survivor is left with two choices: Vault the window/drop the pallet and get hit with Punishment of the Damned, or continue running and get hit with a basic attack."
With Slinger, the biggest complaint against him is the free zoning he has built in, much like PH, and the problem of you either dodge an instant-ADS and lose distance and eventually get hit, or keep holding W and get shot. There are number of reasons but I feel most understand what I'm referring to.
So the question is, now that BHVR have directly addressed this issue found in PH, will they change Slinger or eventually even Spirit (though she is unlikely due to how controversial that would be and this issue im referring to is more specific to Slinger/PH.)
For reference, this is what I mean, Skip to 1:40 if it doesn't work:
This is stupid. I feel like the point of this whole post is to nerf yet another killer and make him close to impossible to play like with the nurse nerf where people have to now blink perfectly without a single mistake or you lose. Nerfing his m2 will mean that a lot more is riding on that single shot and not only that you won't have the ability to get quick shots in. These posts just prove to me that every time a killer gets nerfed the survivor masses pick a new target...

If I have to create support ticket after someone is verbaly abusing in post game chat, I will spend half of playing time creating tickets 😀

Iaght man my bad, dont know how console is. On PC gens go nutty fast and quite a few games by the time you get to the gen they were working on it pops. Few, almost none, games go by where by the time you get first hook 1 gen is done and you get to the next gen it pops. admittedly 3 gens popping in this time is fairly rare.
Plus that MM XD
I play ps4 and it's not as nutty as on pc but there are death squads and gens do still go fast. Problem is mouse and keyboard allow killers to do mindgames better and allow for finer aiming with for example nurse, huntress, plague or even oni's flick while survivors dont really get affected by the use of a controller.
-
Sounds have been bad for 3 months now without getting fixed, when playing nurse I get stuck in objects denying me my lunge and having to waste a blink sometimes to get out (ps4). Also nurses blinks are inconsistent when it comes to travel distance, I'd do a fully charged blink and it'd tp me 5m sometimes. I get blade wipe and stun animation frequently aswell and cant teleport through corners of the map which is really annoying aswell.
-
That's what BHVR does. They sell you a killer then change him/her afterwards. Be happy that freddy is an actual good killer and not nerfed to death like my personal favorite, legion. Killers are almost always better at launch than they are later down the line. Quite sad actually.

Balance? Nah, more content!
They're digging their own grave by adding so much content before properly balancing the game. Sadly this is a recurring pattern because balancing the game doesn't earn them money.. these chapters do. And when the game dies out they just move on to something else. It's a proper business model nowadays.
Chances are DBD will stay alive for 5 more years, unbalanced, with more and more content added. Although I do wonder if they intend to release the game on next gen consoles.
When have they ever done anything that didn't amount to them earning more money? I know it's a business and all but if the only BIG content updates we see are just more stuff to pay for (ingame store and now rift) it says a lot. People have been asking for a new gamemode for the longest time but theu just wont put any effort into it because theu want to bugfix and "balance" their one gamemode first. Newsflash, if you keep breaking the game every time you update it you'll never be able to add anything new to it. These devs starting to piss me off.

Pay for house, food & family, put it in funds for the game and increase dev team size?
Nah, they must be flushing it down the toilet. 😜
While they have increased their staff size they haven't done anything out of the ordinary with the game. The only "big updates" we had were the ingame shop and now the rift both of which are meant for microtransactions. We still don't have a second gamemode nor have we had events, progress on dedicated servers is sluggish at best and optimisation on console is non-existant. The only thing I really notice a difference in is the rate they pump out cosmetics. New killers have been consistently released every 3 months so I'm really scratching my head at what all this new staff is doing except for making new skins.

Wondering where all that skin money from dbd is going. Probably down the drain aswell as they want to squeeze some more money out of you by making the already 10 euro battlepass so grindy.

I see so many people complaining that they can't complete this challenge because of the dc's. It tells a lot about this community, but sadly and honestly, this wasn't surprising.
dc's should definitely count towards this challenge and I hope the devs will change that and keep this in mind for the future challenges.
Btw, I'm also on PS4 since day 1.
I've had the game since pc launch but ps4 is where the friends are at. And yeah I agree. Seems like the devs want to play make-believe thinking their community is better than it actually is. This is the most toxic community I've joined since For Honor but with worse memes.

It seems like the biggest problem is that so many people dc just to deny the killer the challenge. This has nothing to do with "easy" or "hard", it's a huge design flaw and completely out of the killer's control.
At last someone gets it. People are acting like I just don't know how to do the challenge even though I've been playing this game since day 1. I play ps4 aswell so dc penalties aren't going to be active here until summer 2020 lmao.

Both survivors at the end send me messages laughing at the fact they ruined my challenge, at end of the day you only get lucky if survivor don't DC.
Ps. I was playing trapper much harder then bubba in my opinion.
I feel like trapper is easier because people tend to go for the bait more as there is no instakill on trapper.

They are, and I repeat this, NOT TIME SENSETIVE, CHALLENGES.
Not time sensetive: they will never go away.
Challenge: something difficult or requiring skill to overcome a difficult task. Something to be EARNED through trial and error, luck, or obtained skill.
Oh and it IS time limited if you want to tier up your Battle Pass.

Have you even read my post? Survivors DC'ing is literally making this impossible and no amount of skill could prevent this and that's what I mean. And I have to focus on it or it'll never work before the pass ends as I never get all 4 basement sacrifices coincidentally. Again, I've had TONS of games where I could have had a 4 man basement if survivors didnt resort to either dc'ing or waiting at the opposite side of the map. Like I said, when within range they dc and when outside of basement range they just wait to get claimed by the entity. It's petty and quite unsportsmanlike imo. And the challenge is EASY if only people werent such ######### in this community.
-
@Nutty_Professor said:
I was able to do the four man basement challenge on my first try.
My strategy was to use BBQ, Iron Grasp, Agitation, Whispers on Leatherface.
I was fortunate to get Macmillan, Suffocation Pit. What I did was just ignore patrolling the gens on the opposite side of the map to the basement which forced the survivors to be near the basement. But you can do this strategy on other maps such as Arazov's Resting Place, and Coal Tower is also a good map to do this challenge as it's easier to get survivors to the Basement where ever.
Despite playing as Leatherface I didn't camp.
Also what rank killer are, how experienced are you as a killer as with most killer games you got to play smart and have some sort of game plan.
EDIT: To add with this challenge think like how a survivor would think, as a survivor main if I'm playing against killers such as the Trapper, Hag, Leatherface, I will do my best to avoid looping near the basement. If you're getting a lot of disconnects it would be due to your play style, are using tunneling and camping strategies.
Or it could just be that you made it too obvious of what you are trying to do, and some survivors will disconnect just to prevent you from completing the challenge.
@Dr_Loomis said:
I made a topic regarding this earlier. Hope it helps:
I have no difficulty GETTING the survivors my problem is survivors dc'ing or using tactics that dont allow me to hook them in the basement at the end. If they've placed themselves out of basement range they bleed to death by jumping of my shoulder and getting downed while they rush to the safe corner and if they are in range they just dc before i can even pick them up. This is not me not having enough "skill" to manage 4 people in the basement but rather people being unsportsmanlike.
-
Prestige is fine imo but I think devotion should give you more shard as you level it. To me it seems only fair to reward those who have been playing your game the most.

3 chapters a year (every 4 months). Gives more time to fix/balance the content. While also giving the devs more time to fix and optimize or add to the things they never get around too (for example controller sensitivity)
No matter how much time you'll give them it'll never be enough. I feel like DBD has been on a standstill when it comes to new things. Yes we're getting a new killer every 3 months but in 3 years we haven't had a major update that didnt involve new ways for them to monetise the game. The store and rift were the only big updates in my opinion that added something to the game apart from their usual dlc. Monetisation has grown, the playerbase has grown, events have been put on hold even though we've really only had one in the past (halloween) that was actually unique with a new objective and yet nothing new like a gamemode or new objectives have been introduced. New dlc--> new bug/balance fixes --> more bugs --> new dlc -->...
After the recent "dbd back in the day" videos that have been uploaded by different channels on youtube I really asked myself why and how dbd ever got this big.
-
What about killer audio still not being fixed after more than a month now...

We respond to as much as we can, but we aren't watching only the forums around the clock. Odds are if a post is disrespectful or outright insulting, it's not going to get a response. There's a fine line between constructive criticism and insults, and the latter is not how you have a conversation with another person.
As far as the basic attack change goes, it's the same as the Pig. It's to create consistency between powers so it's easier to understand what a basic attack is and what works with it. Previously, it was a bit of a mess. Something like Sloppy Butcher would work, but NOED would not. Both activated on basic attacks, but both were treated differently with Feral Frenzy. Not only is this less confusing for someone new to the game, but it also makes it much easier for us to balance.
As for mending, previously it was too easy to get stuck in an endless loop of mending (with mending times of up to 20 seconds). This left people mending most of the time which isn't exactly thrilling gameplay. There's no interaction between the killer and survivor there.
The movement speed, vault speed, and pin changes were all common requests.
Regardless, the changes have only been out for a little over a day at this point, so we'd like to see what kind of effect they have before making knee jerk reactions.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/890425#Comment_890425
We've also commented on similar threads about that exact same thing- it's not coming back because people use it to dodge lobbies. It was never intended to come back.
Why would you nerf a killer's power for new people? Everyone has to learn the game be it confusing or not. You are basically taking viability from a killer that was almost and now is useless at red ranks. Why not try to balance for your dedicated audience who stuck with the game and learned how to deal with certain killers? Might aswell make every killer have just m1 to not make it complicated for new players.
I Would like to know though if a legion rework has been discussed? I played legion and nurse almost exclusively from launch up until this update and both seem really underwhelming at the moment (ps4 nurse btw).
-
Careful, your survivor bias is showing. You know damn well why MoM was nerfed. 4 free hits every match for basically doing nothing. Killers are working against a clock. I agree with the balanced landing changes but I'd rather they change the perk than spend 2 years fixing maps for infinites to be ruled out. Not only that but even without balanced landing the new badham maps are full of near infinites like the school and that house with the basement, this makes me lose a lot of faith in the devs as they were rambling about "loop money" during their anniversary stream amd how they were going to allow more mindgameable pallets to spawn with the map reworks. You complain about NOED but the perk can easily be destroyed even before it can activate. Don't make a post like this if you can't look at the facts but rather want to only push buffs for your side you are clearly biased towards and only nerfs for the other while ranting about how OP perks on your side get nerfed.
-
Tbh I always wanted him to have a double shred. A bit like nurse's blinks where he can do a second pounce off of his first one. The shred going in a straight line just feels a bit too limiting for a killer like him who seems more agile.

It is wild out there for solo survivors. There are matches where solos need to face 4 killers. And only one of them has limited aura reading on you.
Yeah it is challenging to play as solo, but I still prefer it over playing in group of 4 SWF or, as killer facing cocky survivors who don't know how a loop works, but RNG on their side, so...
After so many hours, I simply don't care much about the bad games. Just die and move on to the next game, maybe next time I got better teammates. That is one of the great things about the game, each new lobby is a fresh start to do better, to get something surprising. Sometimes game is going so stale, you think it is gonna end that way, but it changes in seconds, completely shifting the outcome. That excitement makes me cue again for another maybe.
If I don't get any decent game for along time I just take a break. It could be a coffee break or couple of days off. One time my break lasted 2 months. But each time I came back stronger, more sane, like more clear headed. So it helps.
Game is constantly changing, developing. So I believe these miserable moments will pass someday.
Normally I dont care and move on but 4 games in a row that takes the cake for me. And everybody saying this community is great is dead wrong. Most of the time people on this game are #########, no doubt about it.

@Fibijean said:
Working with the killer and griefing teammates are reportable offences, and that's what you should do - report them. If this happens to you a lot, start recording your games so that you can submit evidence of the misconduct to back up your ingame report.
Devs dont ban on consoles lol... They dont have the tools to do so I imagine or just dont care. Either way the survivor community is more rotten than the killer community has ever been. I dont encounter campers for hours and if I do I dont care because its an easy escape for teammates and I move on to the next game.

I have to say that I get better teammates as solo survivor than while playing as SWF-Duo, cause mostly the matchmaking makes me play with another a duo consisting of a lowrank surv. Also there are in highranks very rare survs who are toxic towards teammates. Its probably just a problem of derankers, who have fun in this. So no problem of Solos.
Derankers dc most of the time as it is easier. This solo experience is just bad. Ps4 btw.

Tbh I don't think they'll do anything with nurse anymore. She's been a wreck in console since forever and it has never been adressed they only made it that much worse. Upping sensitivity is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard as a fix.

Yup i swapped to survivor as well and got rank 1 survivor, met 3 nurses and they all got outplayed easy, by running in a straight line... I get why they touched add ons on her but not base kit. Base kit is unfun on PC so I can only imagine what it's like on PS4... but hopefully the stats will speak for themselves....
Reading about what they'll do to Spirit it's way less of a nerf but it looks like Spirit killers will still be able to have fun with her. Wish I could say the same for Nurse.
This whole situation reminds me of the time when BHVR bought their IP from their publisher. Just before that they were going to push massive killer nerfs (no flashlight timing etc.). Probably because the publisher wanted that sweet survivor money. When they bought their IP killers were getting buffed and perks like decisive finally got their long awaited nerf so I really thought they were going to keep that up (not just killer buffs but also perk tweaks on both sides). Now it seems like they just want to appeal to their main audience which is clearly survivors and hope killers will just shut up and swallow all these ######### nerfs. Like, why the hell does legion get another nerf?!

So his answer was "we'll give them more sensitivity options!"? Is this a joke? My problem is not with the damn sensitivity I play on, it's on highest and I CAN turn around and hit people. My problem is the 3 second delay on blinks being so crippling on console as blink accuracy with a controller is simply not as easy as with a mouse and keyboard. Not only does a controller not have that fine aiming but with auto aim on nurse messing up the whole time it makes the games actually horrible. On console we deal with heavy fps drops aswell while blinking, not like we used to but it's still very noticeable. To me his response was a non-answer. Wth will controller sensitivity do for me? Nothing. I 4k'ed regularly now I 0-2k with an average of 1 kill or so while being tbagged, flashlighted and everything. My killer experience the past few weeks has been awful, so awful that I started playing survivor and got to red ranks. Never have I ever gone past green ranks, this shows you how easy survivors have it.
