Are you on steam? Steam seems to be having some issues right now.
Yeah, but I was JUST able to actually log into the game a minute ago. Now, whether or not I can successfully get into a match we'll have to see.

If I had to guess, it probably has something to do with the new kill switch they have installed in the game so they can server side shut down things in the game that are broken. Same thing happened earlier this week right before they disabled all the stuff they had disabled most of the week
Actually, it is looking like there is something going on with Steam. All the servers appear to be down.
Although, the game has been so buggy and unplayable lately that I thought it was something with the game at first. Hopefully it gets resolved soon.
-
What is going on with the servers? I can't get past the "preparing to log in" sign on the initial screen.
I really don't understand how BHVR just can't keep the game running.

Hello
Victor cannot be kicked or interacted with (except than the Survivor inside the locker) while he is on the locker. It is also full 10 sec. lower than this, is a bug. Yes we counted the 3sec wake up of the killer when we decided on the 10 sec. It might feel as a conservative value but its a new feature and was not on the PTB so we do not know how this feature will really affect the gameplay yet. If it requires a buff, we will readjust.
Also, Victor locker check was never approached as a sure grab, so its totally ok that the Survivor can still escape under certain conditions. If Survivor would know that its a 100% bad outcome, they would simply not use the locker.
I definitely agree that 10 seconds is a conservative value. After having played the Twins and using this new mechanic, it does feel a little useless unless you already have Charlotte standing in the immediate vicinity. If you've been chasing the survivor on Victor for any amount of time, you won't get to the locker in time to actually punish them. Then, it is back to being looped around the killer shack. Overall, it is a huge time sink for the Twins with little payoff. I definitely think that if it were given a slight buff to maybe 12-15 seconds, it could be a lot more viable. For now, I will probably just move on if a survivor hops into a locker in front of me unless Charlotte is already super close.

First we need a Fat character!
Okay, but Jane Romero seems to be a bigger girl already. Are you saying that we should have a morbidly obese character? I don't think that would make a lot of sense in a game where we have to run from killers. It would look odd.
-
I love playing the Twins too, but this post gives off some seriously weak chin vibes. First off, the only reason this perk is rare is because the Twins are new and most people don't even want to play them in their currently bugged state. I mean, I'm not saying that you shouldn't be happy you got the achievement, but the fact that you made a whole forum post about it is so god awful and cringe. And, that is coming from someone who also has the same achievement. However, when I saw that, I just thought to myself, "Cool." You really had to go and make a whole paragraphs-long bragging post. Yikers.
-
I think a burning village filled with the bodies of eviscerated townsfolk would suit the Twins really well. Like, it could recall a time after Victor's resurrection where Charlotte and Victor finally took their revenge on the townsfolk that had spurned them their entire lives. They also could change the look of pallets to give them a bit more of a medieval-esque vibe on this map specifically.

If a killer tries to be nice, he will be kicked in the teeth.
BHVR has a bad habit of leaving large quantities of overpowered survivor gameplay elements in place for extended periods of time, only weaning them off slowly.
Due to constantly having to fight a torrential downpour of bullshit, this fosters a somewhat skilled, but HIGHLY SPITEFUL killer playerbase.
They know exactly what they need to do to win, and they dislike the opposing side just enough that they don't care if they have a good time.
On the other side, the constant availability of extra chance has raised a largely unskilled survivor playerbase that doesn't know they're unskilled.
They'll run a full squad of DS Unbreakable DH Adrenaline against a No Add-on Wraith on Haddonfield, act like they're the best players in the world when "only two" of them die, and the spout nonsense on the forums about how "Actually, DS is necessary because tunnel bad".
PERIODT.

A half a gen is gonna do a lot less for u than a hook save will in terms of rank. Just saying
I never said that you don't save the hooked survivor. My point was that when the killer starts to see generators popping across the map, they're not gonna want to stay on top of a hooked survivor. Seen a lot of people try to run in and unhook someone knowing full well that the killer is camping nearby. I know this from personal experience, rushing gens is always gonna be way more effective in terms of how many survivors will make it out of the match.
-
The main counter strategy to camping killers is to actually let them sit on the hooked survivor and rush generators on them to punish. Forcing the killer to sacrifice all of the other gens/survivors for a single hooked survivor will usually get them to leave the survivor. Don't be greedy and stupid by running in to unhook a survivor when you know the killer is camping nearby. Simple as that.

Wanting to have a fun and fair experience for BOTH sides is being entitlted?
Yikes man, this community literally be promoting toxic gameplay and then turn around to ######### about it when it happens to them.
What is fun for a killer about being gen-rushed and perma-looped? Because, without using tactics like slugging, camping or tunneling that is what happens to killers 90% of the time. Survivors are not always supposed to survive. Simple as that. It is not the killer's job to make sure you have fun.
-
Right now, landing Victor sometimes feels a little pointless. Like, the pounce is sometimes really difficult to land and I think that developers should reward the Twins' more for being able to do so.
-
Here is an even more unpopular opinion. Camping, tunneling and slugging are all 100% viable, effective and legitimate strategies. Your goal is killer is not to let all of the survivors have a feel-good, easy game. It makes no sense that people get so butthurt about people simply pursuing that goal using the most effective means possible. Now, that isn't to say that the above-mentioned strategies are always the best solution. However, I think they often are especially when facing more coordinated teams of survivors. Also, each of these strategies has a very clear counterplay.
If a killer is camping, slugging or tunneling, simply punish them by rushing generators. This has happened to my friends and I when we play 4-man premades on survivor. If one of our friends gets caught, we simply rush gen and let the killer sit there and camp them. If we can, we might circle back once we're about to open the gates, but it also happens often enough that we don't rescue that particular survivor. However, the point is that we deny the killer the 4K match, which is what they really want. As a killer, if I only manage to get a 1K, I know I played something seriously wrong. If survivors actually punished those strategies, they wouldn't be so common.
Furthermore, I don't care what a bunch of butthurt survivors think when it comes to toxicity. Survivors are some of the most toxic players on the planet, thinking that they're so skilled because they know how to catch you in a loop or vault through a window/ledge. Can't tell you how many times survivors have teabagged at me after dropping a single pallet on me or flickered a flashlight at me after vaulting through a window. Yes, when this happens, I do camp the hell out of those players because it is irritating that they're such smug pricks. Funnily enough, it is often those same survivors who DC on the first down/hook most of the time.
-
I am still working on how to land hooks over ledges and pallets. Lots of players will simply jump over a ledge repeatedly when you're playing as Victor. Sometimes, if they do this I will just switch back to Charlotte and it just confuses them because they think I'm still on Victor.

Well, for example, imagine the classic hook camping play. Like, stash the Charlotte right near the hook and go wild with Victor. Solo queue players won't necessarily have any idea where the Charlotte is even if they go for the save (since she basically behaves like she has Insidious) while SWF players will know exactly what's up and can try to time the save with when Victor is approaching another survivor.
I actually do the opposite most of the time. I stash Victor away somewhere and use Charlotte to pressure generators. Then, when I get my killer instinct or the unhooking prompt, I know that somebody is there. I switch back to Victor quickly and charge up pounce. I usually try to park Victor somewhere where I have an unobstructed pounce to the base of the hook since lots of people will simply try to stop and heal as soon as they get the other survivor off. Either, I land Victor on the rescuer or down them if they were already injured (and they're conveniently right next to a hook). Then, I can even chase the survivor that got off the hook and down them again. Either way, I get a ton out of the exchange and I didn't lose any pressure on generators.
-
I bought The Twins' Eternal Sorrow skin. I thought the baby coffin on Charlotte's back with the roses was so cute. However, I do agree they're a little overpriced. For instance, I think their Blood and Guts skin is extremely overpriced for something that looks way too similar to the base skin.
-
I was glitched into the ground when I unbound from Charlotte and I tried pouncing out of it. This is where it landed me: https://youtu.be/Fd_HJseSiTM. Permanently stuck mid-pounce and unable to switch back to Charlotte or move or anything. I honestly just left the match right then and there. Waste of time. BHVR should have never released a champion in this state. An absolute shitshow.
-
As long as people keep giving their money to them, it won't make any difference. On a personal level, you can encourage all your friends to avoid buying/spending money on in-game content until BHVR makes significant changes, but that is about it. The developers either don't care or are being forced to push through subpar content to appease investors. Until the community actually hits them where it hurts, nothing will change.
-
It is essentially more profitable for them to release new content rather than fixing bugs in the game. Rather than incentivizing that behavior, people should withhold spending any money on the game until prominent bugs are fixed. Additionally, people should not recommend this game to any of their friends until they see that the devs are actually making meaningful changes to address the most pervasive bugs. As long as those two things don't happen, I wouldn't hold your breath when it comes to any major bugfixes.

By stating that you're leaving the game and the community you're adhering to cause another playerbase drop, it might not be apparent but it's almost like you WANT people to leave. Another reason why some people don't play killer at all would be because survivors have the most annoying perks than most killers do, which is a totally different cause. This allows them to possible have a higher rank with survivor than they do for killer, prove me wrong if you want but who here has seen a high rank killer more than one time? I would really want to know answers for this.
This graph shows a current change in numbers for the player base:
This graph also shows that there's some really BAD ######### going around with this game's playerbase currently dropping and at an alarming rate as it keeps decaying in numbers. Very suspicious right? Gee I wonder what it is that devs are doing wrong!
Careful. Posting negative things about the developers gets your posts deleted around here. The thing is that it seems to be a systemic lack of transparency and respect for the players that enable their products existence. I've only been here for a few weeks and I have already seen that much. I will probably reach out to Steam to see if it is too late to get a refund on the game altogether myself. If other people want to hand over their money to people who clearly don't care to put in the time and effort it makes to create a polished game, they can have at it. However, I believe that DBD has all the makings of a wonderful game with the unfortunate circumstance of being terribly mismanaged. From what I have seen, BHVR is tone-deaf to the feedback of the community and, apparently, instructs admins to shut down conversations and delete posts that are too critical of the developers.

The game could easily be top-notch if not for the poor development choices, lazy cashgrabs and unprofessional community management.
