  • What I forgot to add: my friends didn't even have the option to unhook, so the line "Unhook survivor" or whatever it says didn't even appear, no matter which angle they tried. Even when two survivors tried it on my hook, Spirit must have known it wouldn't work, as they didn't hit them or move at all. I'm gonna open a ticket about bug abuse on this too where I'll add a video.

  • But I am not reporting a bug. What a nice way to shut down any kind of discussion around this? I am discussing the results of the bug and the importance of totems in general because apparently people don't find them that important (as I said, if it was a gen, there were hundreds of posts like mine). It might be an explanation for why it isn't common for me to meet survivors who are willing to go look for totems generally.

  • @Hoodied said:

Probably closed because you posted this in general discussions and not bug reports

In my first paragraph I explain why I post it in General Discussions. It is a general discussion about the imbalance and NOT meant as a report!! There are so many posts in this forum discussing imbalances, and this one is nothing else. It's an opinion explained in the hope of having a general discussion about totems and their importance!

  • @Chchchcheryl said:

Half of a generator can't even be worked on in one of the swamp maps, they are full of glitched totems and fat shaming spots. Coldwind is minorly bugged in comparison, we just have to wait!

Wait, is there another totem spot where the spawned totem cannot be interacted with?!

  • @Moxie said:

As @chieften333 said, there are two known fat-shaming spots on Pale Rose, creating infinites for Survivors only.

    Map is still not disabled.

This is not comparable to a totem not being cleansable!

The aquivalent for a killer having such a disadvantage would be something like not being able to hit a survivor with a basic attack for a whole game because the game wouldn't register the hit onto that specific survivor or something. "Just hit another survivor then", right? Not so much.

  • @Kolonite said:

If they deactivated every map with bugs we’d have no maps to play on

It is not just a random bug. As I said, I'm aware there are a million bugs in the game. I am aware survivors can be flying around like crazy and I still enjoy the game. But the totem is supposed to be interacted with, and if a survivor cannot interact with it, even though it is crucial to do so (e.g. Devour Hope) or else it basically doesn't make sense to play the game, it is something more urgent than a normal bug!

  • @chieften333 said:

You're supposed to make it in the bug report section even if you think it's known.

And a single totem spot is not cause enough to deactivate a map. On the other hand, a map full of fat shaming spots such as the backwater swamp does deserve to be taken out of rotation.

Yes, it absolutely is! It doesn't matter if it is a gen, a totem or a hook. If it is supposed to be interacted with and you cannot interact with it, it's a reason to deactivate the map. Especially if it is something game changing like that. How can you pretend like it's a small thing? Plus, nobody has any disadvantage if a map is deactivated for a certain time, but everyone does if a Hex totem cannot be interacted with, because it breaks a fundamental gameplay mechanic. If you really think that, you would have to be fine with a gen not being interactable with on a certain map, decreasing the number of gens that can be completed. It's exactly the same thing.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

"Is there any chance keys will get nerfed too, or is this game getting more and more survivor friendly in terms of balance?"

Yes. Yes there is. The devs have confirmed many, many times that key changes are on their way, however mori changes were easier to do (changing the number of needed hooks from 1 to 2) and they're planning a full overhaul of the key system, which will naturally take more time.

Furthermore, like they did with the mori changes, they'll probably avoid announcing the changes until the day they go live, because otherwise everyone will use all of their keys before the change and make the game a living hell.

Wow, thank you for the quick and helpful response! Since I'm not that active in the community, I didn't know about those plans. Thanks for the clarification! Then I'm just gonna be excited for what they come up with!

    1) Wait, soulguard? The super situational thing that never comes up in hundreds of matches because you have to

    a) Be dying b) Killer leaves you alone, slugged, c) Killer comes back within the ridiculously short time frame? The only situation where all 3 requirements will pick up is when the entire team bum rushes the basement in a suicide rescue run and I just can't see that happening beyond green ranks. In it's current state it may seem good on paper but it's practically useless.

The suggested buff wouldn't really negate the fact you'd still rather remove the hex instead of keeping it on. You're just not going to have a full team of Soul Guard in a public match.

    2) Re: Blood Pact

    • Kindred works on everyone. Blood Pact only works with obsession. It's a minor enhancement suggestion just to make it more appealing.

    3) Re: Repressed Alliance

    • I admit I haven't gotten enough use out of this to know how this could possibly interact with those perks, but the intention here is strictly to prevent survivor trolling survivors. There is zero intention of any effect against killers. Can you elaborate why the suggestion changes the Survivor-Killer dynamic?

    4) Re: MoM

Change the duration then. MoM is not only situational it rarely proc even when you specifically try to earn those 3 protection hits. The only time I successfully got it off was when the killer was very clearly just goofing around and both sides picked up to farm points. I have NEVER scored 3 protection hits in a normal match.

    5) It's meant to be taken in conjunction with the soul guard suggestion.

    6) Re: Flip-Flop

Huh? Boil Over gives you additional wiggle PROGRESS. The suggestion makes you physically sway the killer's movement with limited steering. I will say its intended if you combine it with Boil Over to blind the killer from nearby hook auras to try to steer him away from looking at a nearby hook. It may be futile but that sense of control and ability to influence the outcome of a bad situation is a great feeling in a survival genre.

No, Boil Over does exactly what OP described. You "harden" the killer's movement more than normal, but the perk doesn't affect wiggle progress.

  • @Reinami said:

Early game doesn't exist and we have another great example of this that can't be refuted by "but they played badly" or "the killer's perks suck"

Take a look at this recent video from true:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9LkaTt50Ic

Movement control in the match starts at about 5 seconds, so every timestamp is 5 seconds higher than the actual time in the game.

The match starts and he immediately runs to the other side of the map where the survivors likely are.

At 26 seconds in the video, he hears a gen being worked on

At 28 seconds, he spots the scratch marks

At 30 seconds he spots the survivor.

At 34 seconds, he makes a bad read, but the survivor plays badly and throws the pallet anyway.

At 37 seconds, he breaks the pallet, while the survivor runs to the harvester.

At 50 seconds, he does harvester tech, and lands a hit. The survivor holds w.

At 1 minute, 10 seconds, he catches up to the survivor and starts a chase.

At 1 minute, 15 seconds, he successfully mindgames the survivor and tries to bait the dead hard, but it doesn't come

At 1 minute, 18 seconds, he downs the survivor.

At 1 minute, 22 seconds, he picks up the survivor.

At 1 minute, 28 seconds, 1 gen pops.

At 1 minute, 32 seconds, he hooks the survivor, he runs over to the nearby gen that was completed and another in the field.

At 1 minute, 39 seconds, a second gen pops.

At 1 minute, 43 seconds, a third gen pops.

This goes with the thing i have been saying for months now about this game's problem with early game. The math doesn't add up.

21 seconds to find the first survivor and start a chase

24 seconds to land the first hit after making a 1 bad read and breaking a pallet.

20 seconds to catch up to the survivor to start a second chase.

8 seconds on a successful read to down the survivor.

4 seconds for attack cooldown and to pickup survivor.

10 seconds to hook a survivor.

    21 + 24 + 20 + 8 + 4 + 10 = 87 seconds. Enough time for 3 gens if all the survivors hopped on a gen as soon as the match started.

This was not played badly. True played very well.

He found the first survivor almost as early as he possibly could have at the second gen he checked.

He made one bad read for the first chase that only added a few seconds since the survivor threw the pallet anyway (if the survivor played well they could have easily extended the chase an extra 15-20 seconds before using the pallet).

He made one great read for the second on that made the chase end in a couple of seconds.

At this point, the game goes downhill from here. True holds his own because he has like 5k hours in this game so of course he is going to do well, but most of the survivors end up escaping regardless.

Thank you for writing this down. This is a crystal clear depiction of a very obvious issue. People who accuse him of doing a mistake - which is questionable btw - close their eyes to the fact that one single individual mistake doesn't change a thing about the general issue. It's like a person who fights for something lines up 100 arguments, of which 99 are totally reasonable and only 1 is maybe a little flawed... and people will go crazy over that one argument and take it as a reason why that person can't be right in what they're saying.

  • 1. Looping is NOT an easy, braindead task. In fact, it is incredibly hard to learn for beginners. Same with kiting in general and juking. It's like the highest skill cap to become at least decent that I've ever seen in a game tbh.

    2. Dead hard is much worse than DS, BT and Noed, and is the only perk that DEFINITELY needs a change, maybe 3 tokens.

    3. As said, DS is not too strong. However, both, DS and BT, should activate when killer is in certain distance of the hook, not depending on TR.

Your mistake is playing Competitive Mode in Overwatch at all. Jeff Kaplan doesn't give a damn about Competitive Mode in the main game, that became obvious as far back as 2018, which was the last time I wasted my time in that mode. Unless it is OWL, they don't care. Just look at the recent Genji buffs. It was to make him flashier for the OWL viewership. Mei was gutted because the OWL was using her as basically a third tank. It didn't matter that she still wasn't that great in the main game, she was made even worse due to OWL.

Ladder barely saw GOATS being played, yet Lucio and a couple of others were nerfed because of GOATS . . . which was primarily played in the OWL.

Competitive mode is just a joke.

That said, I think I'm about done with OW anyway. It's just gone too far downhill in the main game. But Solo Survivor in DbD is still a horrible experience.

Guess what, the Genji buff is why I'm taking a break in the first place. It's awful. In lower ranks, Genji has always been a huge problem to counter if the Genji somewhat knows what they're doing, as it usually takes some teamplay to take them out... just like Bastion. And both got buffed a lot. And you're right, Genji buff was in favor for OWL, and even there's he's wrecking it, whereas Bastion buff didn't make any sense at all, as he's always been a problem in lower ranks anyway and never gets and never will get played in OWL. So yeah, DBD is not the only game with some awful balance problems.

But I disagree with your opinion about OW ranked though. My bf and I play duo queue and whenever we can have some impact on the game as him as Tank and me as support, or me as DPS and him as support - it is really great and so much fun. But once one single supporter thinks they're dps, or one tank thinks they're dps, it's just so terrible that I prefer playing solo or duo queue in DBD.

  • @Kilmeran said:

Playing Solo Survivor is the only thing I know that makes SoloQ in Overwatch feel like a fantastic experience. I have never had a worse time SoloQing in a game as I have here.

And, for reference, solo queue in OW is a very, very miserable experience, esp in high gold queue where people think they're good bc "I'm close to platin I must be good" but actually have no game sense whatsoever. I think I prefer DBD solo queue over OW queue tbh, because in OW it only needs one player that sucks to make the team lose. And because people need to know their role in order to not suck, which most don't. DBD is far, far more random in terms of how a game goes, therefore one bad survivor doesn't necessarily mean the end of the world as it usually does in OW when both teams are equally strong.

Ah yes the tried and true mori/keys thread, always goes nowhere.

    MORIS NEED NERF

Hi my name is SurvivorSteve420 and I think moris are broken, I don't like that they kill you, I think I should just get a free escape for a killer bringing in a mori=

Reply -- You think moris need to be nerfed? WHAT ABOUT KEYS??? KEYS ARE THE PROBLEM HERE! THEY'RE SO BROKEN! WE CAN'T HAVE A CONVERSATION ABOUT MORIS UNTIL KEYS ARE FIXED

    KEYS ARE BROKEN

Hi my name is KillerKyle69 here to say that keys need to be removed, Survivors repair one generator and then leave via that hatch it's soooo not fair. In fact keys should automatically kill all survivors instantly. Especially if they're SWF

Reply -- OMG BUT WHAT ABOUT MORIS WHY WON'T YOU TALK ABOUT THOSE? WE CAN'T HAVE A CONVERSATION ABOUT KEYS UNTIL MORIS ARE FIXED

Laughed so hard about those names that I woke up my boyfriend. It was worth it tho!

  • @blue4zion said:

There really should be more killers like this, so I'm happy to see it.

However, they really should buff stealth. I think it might get buffed when the new graphics are out, but if only by a little bit. Not sure how they could do this other than make more little hiding spots, better grass/bushes, and maybe something new to hide in like a barrel.

That would make the game so much more exciting and ... you know... horrorish. Trying to outstealth a killer for your life, praying they dont see you... always feels like pure horror to me. That whole "Hi killer, look at me, look how I'm spinning, oh come on cute killer, I wanna run circles with ya.. Uhhh am I gonna drop the pallet?!... nahh come on, let's do it again, come a little closer..."-thing kinda ruins all horror immersion. If I'm ever thrown into a forest with a psycho killer, I don't think my attempt to not get slaughtered would be to run in circles around objects...

  • Jumped through a window today, Yui's feet touched the ground, even made a step further, and Leatherface's chainsaw on the other side of the window still downed me :) Recorded the scene and watched it in slow motion, and yep no way that this was a hit. My ping was totally fine. I cannot count how many times Lithe and Window Hitboxes have caused me random hits.

  • This is really normal for every game in the world. What helps is to use the time and look into another game that has caught your interest but that you've never touched because you'd rather play DBD. Especially if it's something totally different, maybe a single player game you're interested in? I guarentee you, the more often you start the new game, the more you will miss your "main" game. At the latest when there's new content in DBD you will crave coming back and try it out, with the old excitement and that nice "ahh, good to be back" feeling.

My actual main game is Overwatch and DBD was supposed my "pause" game, since OW has buffed a certain hero I hate and gameplay is starting to get too annoying. I kinda fell in love with DBD and will definitely stick to it too, but cannot wait to get back into OW once the changes I dislike get hopefully changed again :o

So in short: videogames are not like a monogamous relationship. Try out new things, make new experiences, maybe find another game you like for nice breaks and then enjoy coming back to fall in love with DBD all over again whenever you feel like it.

  • I think this idea is one of many that are effective to counter gen rush and to make up for the lack of map and gen control many killers have. Unfortunately, I am a way too nice killer and always try to go for the 12 hooks to not make any survivor feel bad (which mostly results in me feeling bad because I get teabagged and made fun of, oh well). So the fairest way is also the worst way to play for killers, therefore your idea is much smarter in terms of winning games. In the end, everybody has to decide for themselves what priorities they have.

  • I get it. I am so tired of the clicking and teabagging... but I can't bring myself to tunnel anyway. When there's a decent group of survivors that don't click and don't teabag, I play as nicely as I can, and I don't feel so bad for losing then, in fact I'm even happy when they don't lose theit items etc... I just try to play as well as possible, and if I don't win, it's cool. However, when they click and teabag me, when it turns into that typical situation where you realize you cannot have any control whatsoever and where it almost feels like being the bullied guy in highschool that simply is outnumbered by a group that enjoys making that one person feel bad about themselves... then I stop playing completely and pm them and ask if they feel good making fun of me and kinda confront them with the fact that I'm aware that they're much better than me and that it hurts that they rather make fun of me than just trying to let us ALL have a fun match... some of them stop when they read that and realize that not every killer is a toxic one, some find that even funnier and increase the toxicity. I guess I'll stop playing killer completely as I don't find it realistic to actually work on my gameplay when all of what those groups do aims at making me feel bad in comparison.

But you do you, and if this is your way of dealing with things, I don't judge you. Just try to make sure to not play like that against groups that aren't toxic at all and that play normally.

  • Wait, what? Is it live already? I'm on PS4 and didn't get a patch nor ingame news?

  • @Nazia said:

You don't seem to get it and have completely ignored my points:

Survivors can quick-switch at the last possible second to counter what you have. A flashlight squad VS Hag isn't fun. With the new Matchmaking System, killers cannot dodge or are free to quick-switch to someone else who can deal with it.

Also, completely ignoring my point that survivor players (especially at red ranks) like to use a program that shows them what killer and player they are facing. You don't think this is unfair at all?

Why is it okay that survivors can quick-switch and use a 3rd party program with impunity but killers are now punished? Do you not recognize the hypocrisy?

What exactly does this program?! Does it work on every platform or only PC? I assume (hope) it doesn't work for console players?! That sounds terrible, why doesn't BHVR do sth about it???

Hit N' Run, using slowdown perks, not chasing people for too long, making a 3 gen strat, slugging, mindgaming in chases so you catch survivor more faster.

Want some more? btw just realized you got a warning lmao

If you're so confident about your opinion, go ahead and play 50 killer games on red ranks. Upload them to your Youtube channel. I promise to subscribe and watch every single video if you promise to have this discussion again afterwards.

You either prove that all of us are just extremely bad at playing killer, or that you are wrong.

I love playing killer. However, 2 matches a day and I stop playing it, cause I'm always close to writing a novel in this forum about game balance. After those 2 matches I switch back to survivor and am reminded of how easy and chill this game can be, and that is even though I'm really not a good survivor. So awesome to know that if I lose as survivor, I know it's always gonna be because of my own mistakes and therefore my own responsibility to work on myself. Which is simply not the case for playing killer. Nobody's perfect and there's always room for improvement, however as killer there are lots of situations that simply cannot be solved, regardless the killer's skill level.

First of all, camping and tunneling are legal in the game.

That said, camping and tunneling is just as toxic as swarming the hook, coordinated body blocking and flashlight swat team SWFs. Both suck and are no fun to play against.

But, even those who hate seeing camping (as in camping from the first hook on) will admit that once the gens are done, and you have a hook, camping it is completely understandable. I hate playing vs campers, but I would never, ever blame someone for camping a hook in late game.

I prefer the killer role and I hate to camp, but may camp that EGC hook.

    You did nothign wrong.

It sounds as if he hooked the guy and the other 3 immediately swarmed the hook. In that case, this is zero camping, bc what else is he supposed to do? Run to an exit gate to see if there's a fifth survivor?

You were fine. The camping thing (which is what it sounds like but I wasn't there so I can't say) isn't nice but you play how you play :-)

I have found this game to have a lot of incredibly abusive people. The second week I played I got the C word, the b word, the N word, the spanish word for ######### - and got called that in english too.

I've been called useless, dumb. stupid, worse player ever, worse gaming ever etc etc. and that's not even the half f it. Vile and just mean.

I've only been pay 4 -6 weeks now BTW and at least every 5th game is a hot mess of nasty either at myself or someone else.

I'm typing this all in caps for a reason, I'm not yelling at you though. :-)

DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO MAKE YOU FEEL BAD.

    I'm serious.

These are stupid, childish. pathetic internet trolls that have some issues of their own that they really need help for. These pathetic trolls have no bearing on your real life. They hold no power and no value. They don't know you. They can't hurt you. They are idiots.

It is not you - it is THEM. Please remember that.

Take a break and go treat yourself to something nice. Take a walk. Clear your mind and allow yourself some time to normalise and re-balance.

I'm lucky as I don't have any mental health conditions, that I'm aware of anyway, but there are moments that this game makes me feel so bad about myself that I have to walk away and re-balance myself. I've never been subjected to the kind of volite nasty that I have been in this game so it shocks my system I think.

    XOXOXOXOXOXXOXOXOXOXO

Breath. Those people are trash human beings. Be glad you are not a trash human being like them. :-)

Esp since you say you have no mental health problems, you seem to be a very empathetic person :) Thanks for writing this all down, it sure helped a lot (I also played killer today...).

Running Pig: I figured out two had Spine Chill, so I kept moonwalking up to gens and pop in on them. Got the 3k and gave the hatch.

Survivor 1: You scared the s**t out of me!

Survivor 2: I actually felt like I was in a horror movie. You were everywhere!

Survivor 2: This is why I play the game. That was so much fun

btw, neither were given the hatch. Both died by mid-match. The last two were pretty sneaky, but I eventually figured out their pattern. They were moving from gen to gen, trying to throw me off. I cut them off after a minute or two and waited with my back turned to the gen. They were not aware that DH was activated at that time.

    Fun match.

If I may ask, how do you figure out people run Spine Chill? If they stealth away when you're crouching towards a gen? If that happens, I usually think that someone saw me and called me out or sth like that. Just wondering if there's a "safe way" to tell if someone plays Spine Chill when I play Amanda.

Correct, but you can pressure area's enough for survivors to not return to that location for some time. This is why giving up a chase can be beneficial to killers.

It is normal. Killers are much taller than survivors, and dont claim you can see your belly button when looking forward. Because that is where survivors are. If they take half a step back, you can see them. And no, totem spawns are more hidden, have more spawning places and new spawning locations are added over time. And while you dont want a hex totem to be gone, the design of hex totems is for survivors to be off a generator looking for it. So you want them to search for it as long as possible while you hook other people too. Once 1 person found it, its practically gone and it did its job. Same reason why wiggling isnt meant for survivors to get out, but its only designed to not bring survivors to the basement unless it is within range. As survivor you would want to wiggle, even though you cant get out. So whether you want it or not. Hex totems are there to distract survivors from generators. If they dont, they get punished for every second they allow the hex to work.

Yes, just as guns are not the ones who kill people, even though they obviously can. Change my mind.

Music and sounds can be modified, but not specific in-game sounds in aspect of other things. Aka, if you want to lower chase music, you need to lower breathing sounds too. But you do realize sounds can amplify and cancel each other out right? Making sound louder makes the amplifications larger, meaning that if you should be able to hear someone entering a locker nearby while in chase, but you dont, there are 1 options: 1, you have hearing damage. 2, your sounds are too loud/too soft. That was my point.

It can, eat the DS early game. That is the counter. Just as the counter to NOED is to cleanse all totems. As for Unbreakable and Soul Guard, well, yeah, but thats because slugging is so incredibly powerful. So if you down someone instantly after being picked up, you wasted SO much time from that survivor. It's not strong. DS and Unbreakable are strong EGC perks, but outside that, they are quite weak. Sure, annoying, but weak.

No, 2k is not a loss, that is your own bullshit definition. We all saw what happened to the game when kills were actually related to ranking, and the game was boring as #########. And even back then, a 2k was considered gaining a pip(aka a win) and a 3.5k was required for a double pip. Your definition comes from whiney killer mains who think that the average game should have a 3k. Which it isnt, no dev has stated that, the game doesnt state that, it is a headcannon win. And in fact, technically, as killer, you could claim whatever you want to be as a win. You'd be wrong, but you could. I could say that hitting survivors 0 times, is a win. Meaning I could win with a 0k. You would disagree, but its no different from your deluded definition.

Oh, thats bias. I've had all 4 survivors being hooked in the first 2 mins of the game, and had none of them being able to Kobe. So yes, it is a flat 4%. However, statistically, you're guaranteed to see all survivors being able to unhook themselves first try without any aid. Your personal experience has no influence on what is in the game, and it is a flat 4%.

You can reach all hooks on Haddonfield in time, with survivors bodyblocking you. Even if they are upstairs in Strode Residence. There is ALWAYS a hook right outside one of the doors, and a second one within reach. 50 meters is a LOT of distance you can carry a survivor, and a lot of killers underestimate how far they can carry a survivor. I've never had a survivor escape my grasp without all 3 other survivors intervening and sabotaging a hook. Which is 100% fair. They risk multiple downs to safe 1 person. High risk, high reward.

Oh yeah, it does, but that was not your claim, and not my point. Your claim was that matchmaking was survivor sided, its not. I've seen a rank 17 solo survivor in a red rank match. I've seen a green rank swf+solo me against a rank 1 killer. Matchmaking IS NOT survivor sided. It is bad, but it doesnt side with anyone. You may think so, because you're biased as #########.

What do you personally consider a win for killers / survivors?

Like the previous commentor wrote, don't feed him intentionally. Using this addon makes it so much longer for him to reach tier 3, so you should be able to finish 4 or 5 gens until he reaches it. You'll realize he's taking very long to tier up.

So when he stalks you, run away using sight blockers whenever possible, he is slowed drastically when stalking, so use that to gain distance. His stalk rate also reduces with the distance, so try to keep him far away. Keep on running until you are 100% sure he left you. Don't camp pallets for getting stuns, keep them for when he really got to tier 3, you will need them. You could even jump in a locker intentionally, so he has to pick you up and cannot stalk further. But that you should only do when you are certain he has one or both red addons and he hasn't stalked you at all yet.

It is really not that difficult to deny him his infinite EW3 for the most part of the trail, given that all survs try their best to avoid being stalked as much as possible and do gens fast. If he pops his infinite EW3 and you still have 3 gens to do, then gg, you are likely all dead, if the Michael plays it right.

Thanks for taking the time to write this, that was really helpful!

Well besides any of that, i'd recommend you actually use it for a few times.

So that you can learn how it is from the Killer's point of view.

I hate to use addons and offerings that I personally feel are too strong :/ But I play Amanda too, guess I'm just not one of those who do anything to win ^^ But I'll try it out, can always turn it into a nice game anyway when I feel like it's too strong. Thanks for the advice.

its honestly all up to the survivors , dont feed Michael and you're good. if you realize that hes taking forever to get tier 3 start pumping out those gens ! most of the time(if the survivors arent potatoes) their will be 2 or 1 gen left when he pops tier 3.

I also feel like it's fine because we have several insta down killers that dont have to stalk for their ability .

Yeah, but I feel Michael's insta ability is pretty balanced with him having to stalk to get it, considering his strong lunge attack these two factors balance out nicely. Without the stalking part though... My group of 3 definitely is a patotoe crew :) We tried to get as far away from him as possible to do those gens and to do single gens far away from each other, but he'd always get one who then needed to be rescued and well, we had many gens at 50% but few finished. Guess we'll focus more on gen rush next time. Thanks!

  • Imo, one single action in a match hardly makes someone a tunneler. When I play killer, I don't go after those who got unhooked to give them a chance to get away. When they walk into me repeatedly however, I hit them - what else should I do, ignore their existence til the endgame? It's the survivor's responsibility to play safe and be careful. In your situation, you couldn't even know who activated your trap. Every killer would have ported there. If they decide not to crouch, it's their responsibility. If you would've ported there and not hit anyone only to be "nice", you would've waisted your own ressources. If you would've ported, down her but not hook her to not eat the DS, they would have called you a slugging camper.

Stealth is your friend, then. Looping is very killer-dependent, and by that I mean that it's you versus the individual on the other side of the game and not their specific killer choice. I suck at reading people, so I can't loop. I stick with stealth to compensate.

Thing is, if all 4 survivors do nothing but looping and juking, no gens and totems are being done. Therefore, both roles are crucial.

  • It doesn't even work. When I'm blinded while breaking a pallet, I just keep walking straight and end up being as near to them as before... I always feel like if it's a survivor who knows what they're doing way better than me, it's to be toxic, but I also feel like many "average" survivors don't realize it isn't very effective (like for a long time as survivor I honestly thought killers couldn't walk when they're blinded :D ), and that they should rather keep their flashlight charge for trying to blind when I'm carrying a survivor.

  • .. may I ask, which pants? How could you get them (or in your case, not get them)?

Sabotage squads are so easy to handle, if you dodge this you are really bad as killer. I'm more afraid of 4 toolboxes WITHOUT oak offerings because that means they will use them on gens and genrush the living ######### out of this match.

    Or 4 flashlights... ;__;

Most swf groups are full of toxic #########, so I feel bailing on a lobby is justified. You can also see killer profiles by going to the 'recent met players' tab.

No, those that leave a negative impression are like this, but that doesn't make "most" groups like this. It's just that killers remember these groups, because it's obvious that they are swf. I bet my ass that most swf groups forever remain unrecognized, because they play normally. My group of three for example would never be accused of being swf because we are so bad, we die almost every match :) and are red ranks though. When I play killer, I sometimes try to tell if ppl are swf, and honestly, most times I can only tell when it's the typical toxic group. I'm not saying that these people aren't a problem, I'm just saying that I find it dumb to speak of "most" when it's in reality "some".

  • I agree, I hate both things too, and I play surv AND killer. However, as killer you can at least play Franklins Demise when you see a key. You can't do anything about a mori.

However, people quit for the dumbest reasons these days. Right after that post I had a match against a doctor, first random quitted before their final hook, second random quitted during a chase when he wasn't even hit and left my friend alone. The doctor was a pretty normal killer, and he even let my friend escape. My god, people are whiny these days. In every game.

  • Hidden offering? Almost all of my games crashed today when the killer brought a hidden offering.

@DBD_Noobinoob I don't know if that is sarcasm or not but if you read above this, I gave points and reasons to 4 different people.

No, sorry. I am relatively new to this game and haven't thought about the slow vault, fast vault idea yet. Therefore I found that advice very helpful and wanted to let you know! So, thanks :)

  • @AVoiceOfReason said:

Her actual phasing isn't an issue since you can still slow vault, fast vault and walk in a direction to confuse her but once she gets a hit, good luck.

    Great advice!

I gave someone a really good Mikey build the other day. He/She messaged me back with a big thank you cause of a 4K. Not everyones toxic. I like helping newer players and up and comers

May I ask which build that was ? :)

Ideally they would address the reason why people disconnect, but no its easier to just slap on a penalty.

Imo, people who quit team games are scum, doesn't matter for what reason, doesn't matter which game. Leaving the team behind due to personal emotions is the most egoistic, disgusting thing in online gaming, and imo should have the worst penalty. If you can't stand "imbalances", dont play the game. If you can't stand losing, dont play any game. If you aren't able to handle your emotions, play a single player game. A person who is willing to leave their team behind is not a person I would want to play with, nor would I want to meet them in real life. Proud to say I have never quitted an online game where I had a team, and never will.

Then you were with swf because I play solo and the totems are never done. Hell even 2 man swf can be tricky sometimes depending on the map and people you get out with.

You want to talk about math? 5 totems is 74 seconds cleansing alone. That’s basically an extra generator. That’s not including those times you get interrupted as the killer walks past and you have to stop losing your progress. Add in the amount of time travelling to and looking for the totems which can vary by map but can add minutes on. Sometimes you only just barely get the gens done and literally don’t have time to get the gens done. All this to stop the killer from activating god mode and using a perk which takes all skill out of the chase and allows you to instadown survivors at a time when theres gonna be barely any pallets left on the map and maybe not even a full survivor team left.

Meanwhile, asking a killer to simply not pick someone up within 60 seconds of them being unhooked is apparently too hard to do and not an acceptable counter at all.

The killer main entitlement is real.

    1. If there has been so much gen pressure that they barely got done, it can mean 2 things:

    a) the killer was good and applied a lot of pressure, which makes it likely they are not using noed. After all, OP didn't use it either, apparently, so Noed doesn't have anything to do with his points whatsoever

    b) the survivors weren't that good and made wrong decisions regarding gens and totems in the first place, enabling the killer to use their perk

From what I can tell, the better the killer is, the less likely it is they use Noed. I'd be more concerned about red add-ons and moris, both of which can't be stopped.

    2. How exactly do you consider the ability to instadown "god mode", but the repetitive ability to avoid a hit that would actually down you but keeps you alive for another x minutes (Dead Hard) not? If anything, Noed as an easy way to down someone answers Dead Hard, which is an easy way to avoid being downed even though you'd actually be downed multiple times. Bad killers make up for not getting anyone by endgame, survivors make up multiple times for looping too long or too poorly.

    3. I don't get the fuzz about totems. I am fairly new to the game, and once I had encountered Noed several times, I decided that I find doing totems as important as doing gens. I'm not talking abt swf, when I solo queue and ain't sure about the totems, I'll take a break from doing gens and go look for totems. Learning their places helps, you usually bypass them anyway, I memorize them when I see them during a chase and go back later, and I still use Tapp's perk for finding totems sometimes. No matter how good the killer is, they can always be in one place at a time, and maybe the key is that I'm not like those who willingly throw themselves into the killer's arms and then complain about hex totems, but rather try to NOT be where the killer is, and during that time it is my free choice to do either gens or totems. And every survivor's got that chance.

  • Just recently I had a match against a Leatherface and was recording it for my friend who always wants to see my matches when he's not able to play with me. During that match, I lost my event medkit. When I came back to where I had been hit, it was gone and throughout the whole game I was wondering whether I had memorized the point of where I was slugged incorrectly or if someone had taken it. Esp since I had noticed the loss way too late. Rewatching the game, we noticed that apparently a Yui picked up my medkit and healed me with it later on. What's even worse is that she even dropped it afterwards, which I didn't see from my ingame perspective. Since this match I've been crying about my medkit lol :D

Today, I played against another Leatherface; a nice one who didn't camp. He pretty much slayed my team pretty fast and we were all stealthing around. I had once again lost my medkit :(((( One of my mates disconnected before his 2nd hook. In the end, it was me and another dude I hadn't seen for ages and 3 gens left. Leatherface found the other and slugged him, then came for me. I gave up and just sat there letting it happen. He slugged me and then stood there looking at me for ages until he suddenly disconnected. I pmed him and asked why he disconnected (it was his internet) and he told me he actually wanted to carry me over to my medkit because he had noticed when I lost it. He now has turned my friends and mine inside joke into a happy memory :)

<3 <3 <3 Much love to that nice Leatherface!!!

NOED high risk high reward? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

More like low risk huge reward

In 90% of my surv games today my team destroyed all totems during the game or the last one left in endgame. I've seen noed activate once today (which was the totem that was destroyed seconds later), but being used and not activated due to all totems being done several times.

It is literally the easiest objective for survivors, so if anyone dares to compare noed to 2nd chance perks that are not counterable (and i personally think of "whoops i made a mistake, ah nevermind-dead hard", that person has no clue. There are even perks that are great for finding totems, but honestly, who needs that?! If survivors rather "genrush" than taking their time to slow it down just a little bit, they are at fault. This is NOT comparable to Dead Hard or Adrenaline. If every survivor destroys one totem, it's literally just 30s of extra work for three and 1min for one. It's nothing, considering how fast gens are being done, and how long it takes a killer to down (not kill) ONE survivor (not four). Multiply this effort of the killer by 12, and compare it to the 2,5 min total totem time. I'd say all totems can be destroyed during one or two chases between a killer and a good survivor (especially if the survivor has DH and whatnot :o) ).

This noed "argument" is simply unbelievable stupid. It is not hard to do some math, but it seems like this forum doesn't like looking at numbers. 5 totems, phhhh.
