  • You don't have to have ruin or pop to make it to red ranks. As long as you know when to cut off chases early to apply gen pressure you should be able to score high enough on gatekeeper. Even without nurse. Not saying with someone like legion or doctor, but Billy and spirit can be up there with nurse too

That is so 2016. The game has been rebalanced in the last three years so survivors have a much harder time than they did back in 2016.

The game is balanced around SWF. To the point that solo survivors have a miserable life down there in the yellow ranks. Meanwhile in the red ranks killers still have trouble. And guess what? It's all pretty well-balanced in the middle, and overall the survival rate is still around 40%, which is well within the 2 die 2 survive goal.

This myth can be laid to rest.

If you are getting bullied anywhere other than the Rank 1 by 4-man SWF, you are just getting outplayed by a better team.

If the game is balanced around swf then how come they made so many perks that give you the same information you already get with swf? They just felt like wasting their time making useless perks?

Insane but incredibly fun imo :D or tier 2 Myers/huntress even. The lullaby would still give her away, but you'd have to be incredibly close to hear her terror radius and tier 2 Myers could become practically invisible with dead rabbit. Hell even billy with the sound limiting add-ons hurtling towards you would be cool.

No. Monitor and abuse shrinks it outside, and grows it inside of a chase. This would be a net decrease of 26%. Monitor also increases fov outside of a chase to make finding survivors slightly easier. This would pair with monitor and abuse, for on some killers absurdly small terror radiuses, but you have to keep in mind that's two entire perk slots which could possibly be fitting better and more meta things.

Excuse the double quote. Dunno how to fix it. But yeah that would be insanely fun to play as lol

  • Not sure I completely understand the first perk. The second perk would be good in low ranks but useless in high ranks I think. Range on third perk would probably have to be lowered. But I would love having Chucky in the game so I'm all for your idea :D

Sure they say that. It's the straightes way without putting too much effort into it.

Still, I believe that they will sooner or later change more. At the beginning, they said they will change nothing at the update. The addons are also a new development in this case.

If they need 200 more threads to understand that Legion mains also like to have fun - not only the part of survivors that has opens nerf threads or cry about the Legion in them - then I can go along with that.

If they ever want to see a cent again from Legion mains, that are annoyed by this patch, they should better do some changes^^.

Totally agree. Honestly I'm 100% ready to buy Joe. But not until Legion gets fixed

  • @Kerbert said:

I used to be a Legion main as well. He was one of my favorite killers in terms of power and design and to see him nerfed like that, its cruelty. They most certainly could've changed him ti get rid of his exploits without banishing him to F tier. Hopefully he's the next killer they rework.

Nah. They said if they ever do anything to him it will be add-ons. Like his double hit in FF to blind and that stuff they said they might change it to first hit

Did you read the whole thing? The guy posted that EGC heavily favors survivors. My reply is just saying that that’s crazy, and that killers have gained a lot by being able to close the hatch now. Claiming it to favor survivors is laughable and makes no sense. Do you believe EGC is survivor sided as he says?

Ah ok that makes more sense. Well then no, I don't think egc is survivor sided, it was a nice change and made it so game can't be help hostage. If hatch is closed that means there's usually only one survivor left anyways so just figure out which gate they're opening and search it. The fact that it gives survivors yet another chance after not finding the hatch does seem a bit much, but overall is still killer sided

  • @Karl_Childers said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/613267#Comment_613267

I cherry picked? You made the statement that EGC heavily favors survivors and that is pure nonsense. Nothing in your post backs it up. The 1v1 is heavily killer sided, how can you possibly even dispute this. How do survivors benefit when the killer can close the hatch now, that makes no sense at all. Just because you didn’t get the version of hatch closing that you wanted, does NOT mean it still isn’t killer sided. Come on now. You don’t think there’s a big rise of 4Ks now compared to before pre-EGC? Your gate argument is also so flawed, how in the world do you think it’s easier now for the last survivor to escape than it used to be? Killers gained big time with it and that’s a fact. Sorry but your extreme killer bias is just making you sound ridiculous.

Are you saying that if the killer finds and closes the hatch that it shouldn't be killer sided? I'm confused on the point of your argument

Ruin the game. As opposed to infinites, teabagging, berating killers for killing a survivor, berating killers for using noed, being a downright ass with clicky clicky flashlight to prove some superiority complex, and just being overall an asshat?

Many people who are being camped did something to deserve it. I do not camp personally, but I have made an exception once or twice due to some asshat with an ego being annoying.

You can blame game mechanics, people being “toxic” or whatever, but this is a two way street. I will treat you as you treat me. If you play the game normally, I will too. If you do things to earn my ire, I will turn “toxic.”

I have a friend who thinks Legion is OP. Just wait until they realize the loops, 4 second stuns, and gen rush they will face. Just don't say I didn't warn them :(

Lol that sucks. I feel bad for him because general survivor consensus in grey and yellow ranks is he's OP and "disgusting" (to quote a yellow rank swf I went up against a while back) yet as soon as you hit high green ranks he suddenly becomes the most laughable killer ever. I've literally had more success just m1-ing and mind gaming loops at that rank

@Ember_Hunter time to go hunting for the Q&A that talked about Legion lol

@Ember_Hunter I found it. It was in the nightmare rework Q&A. Someone asked if they are looking at buffing Legion in the near future and the response was "we are planning on looking into their add-ons in the near future" they said primarily looking at their status effect add-ons to be on hit rather than on the second FF hit. No ETA at the time of writing because you know how these Q&A's work :)

@Ember_Hunter all I know is nobody asked about Legion last Q&A. Don't know about the Q&A before that one.

@Divinitye9 that seems like a fun ability, always thought throwing knives would look better and make more sense, but they would have to give it its own little gimmick, and then most likely change huntress too, otherwise they would be the same killer, with one being outright better than the other

@Brok3n Ah thanks :) I was trying to keep the basics of Legion that we love while also adding in that flavor of actually being a ''Legion''.

Totally agree. Not bashing on the devs but they didn't do a very good job at making them actually seem like a legion of 4 killers instead of the one sprinting guy we have now XD

I can see how they tried to make it seem like it was multiple killers by trying to force Legion into a spot where he has to get chain hits on multiple survivors, but all that did was put him in a bad spot and they would be much better off and feel like much more of a threat that could come from anywhere at any time if they had a locker teleport. People have been asking for a killer with a locker teleport forever now and if they can do a gen teleport a locker teleport shouldn't be too hard

  • Nope Legion had a 4 second stun. As a Legion main I wholeheartedly support this change. Now the Legion will actually have an upside that nobody else has! Hallelujah!

  • I'm totally ok with this being a perk. Give a permanent negative status effect to toxic survivors or killers or just mute them if they recieve enough reports XD

    Ha. Hahaha

    Hahahahahahaha

Lol okay. So first off, no. The emblem system is not built for survivors and pipping on survivor side is MUCH harder than on killer side. If I want to pip as a survivor, I have to do gens, I have to also be altruistic which means I need to stop doing gens. I also have to be chased by the killer AND get away if I want iridescent. And then I also have to make it out the match. There's almost ALWAYS at least one person who de-pips and one who safety pips because it's impossible for the entire team to do ALL of those things and there's usually one person carrying the weight in each category.

The killer on the other hand has all of their emblems tied into each other and if you're chasing someone and hitting them, you're also keeping them off gens and getting hooks which means you get to work on all 4 of your emblems at the same time.

If that sounds like a system built for survivors, then I don't actually wish to continue this conversation

Unhook first 2 survivors, do a gen, maybe 2, and get in about one decent chase or maybe 2. Bam. Pip

I have an idea. For every prestiged character you have you get 300 shards. For example, let's say i have P3 trapper, P2 Nea and P1 legion. I would get 6 x 300 = 1800 shards.

If they do this then they should make an announcement about it beforehand so my 5 or 6 characters sitting at level 50 can get prestiged for the shards instead of it coming out of nowhere and I miss the compensation for the grind

What made basekit Legion more counterable than a Legion with no addons? There was no way to dodge a Legion using Frenzy. Addons or not. Pallets didn't matter, windows didn't matter, nothing mattered. He denied the two and only things survivors have to stop the killer in a chase. This is why survivors DC'd so frequently against him. Go ask any of the well known, good killer players in this game if Legion had counter play and be prepared to hear 1 answer from every one of them.

    Sounds like nurse, not Legion

I see. Well if you do want to be a "tried and true" stealth killer, then neither are really the best option. Myers is stealthy at first but in late game becomes a standard killer with an instadown. Ghostface however can easily get knocked out of his power and can turn a chase into a basic M1 chase. And because his power doesn't actively help in a chase (unless you were able to mark them beforehand), it'll happen a lot, especially in mid-late game, where you'll be busted out of your power before you can mark anyone.

From my experience, from a survivors perspective Myers is the more terrifying and "stealthy" killer to go up against.

I can see why you think that, and I agree with you he can be terrifying to go up against. At the same time my personal preference is still ghost face, I think his power still has some effect if you can use it mid chase behind a wall for mind games, of course that depends on the map too. But yes I can see how Myers is stealthy early on

  • @Kerbert said:

"Myers isn't as stealthy because he can't be broken out of his stalk"

Thats an oxymoron if I've ever heard one.

I didn't explain myself very well there did I lol. What I meant was Myers isn't as stealthy because of the way his stalk works. Ghost face can be broken out of his stalk so you're pressured to stay hidden and stealthy. Every Myers player I've seen just stands in broad daylight stalking people because they know they can't be broken out of their stalk. And after enough stalking you start to get a terror radius which makes him more noticeable. Sorry for the confusion

  • If you like being stealthy I'd suggest ghost face. Myers isn't as stealthy because he can't be broken out of his stalk. But sometimes you don't even notice the ghost face peeking around a corner until it's too late. And I enjoy seeing survivors panick and run in a random direction as soon as they get exposed. Pigs stealth is rarely worth using in most situations because of the slower movespeed

LOL! So, maybe making you stay in that specific rank without piping up or down for 10 games could do the trick? Or would this still be a reward? Just asking

I'm assuming he means some people want to de rank for easier and more enjoyable games. Which could actually encourage dcing because instead of having to play a full game to only lose one pip, you can just dc right away and lose a full rank making it much easier on them. Which is why instead of de ranking them, it should just ban them from playing for a certain amount of time like most games

Who told you dbd is supposed to Be toxic. You aren’t supposed to die on first hook. That’s why you have three chances silly. By camping it ruins that mechanic of the game. I don’t expect it to be relaxing. I expect it to be playable and not disgustingly toxic.

If you're supposed to get 3 chances then why do they have a time limit on how long you can be on hook before reaching second stage and third stage? The game was specifically designed to allow both strategies. Camping is a legitimate strategy. It's not by any means a good one, it's easily punished. And yes it can be unfun for survivor and sometimes killer. But it is a strategy nonetheless.

And before you say I'm a camping killer main, I play Legion, the literal worst killer in the game for camping

As long as we talk about a Legion basekit - aka. a Legion without Addons, there was.

But... I have learn in this forums, to write no tutorials anymore, or to even start to search tutorial videos for someone, because it ended always in denying the tutorial texts, or even the videos and... I actually would like to spent my time for more as just getting denied.

So, then for some people the Legion had really no counterplay. Ok. And I don't mean that offensive. It's the same like with the Huntress: Not everyone can hit with her hatchets. It is just as it is.

Edit: Sorry... It is usually not my nature to let someone down on this way, but this forums are kind of exhausting what this matters.

I would like to see your guides, where can I find them? I don't criticize or hate I'm trying to see if I can make it to purple ranks playing only legion right now. I like the challenge. So if you can link me your guide I would love to read it

  • @HatCreature said:

Easiest fix would be bring back their normal FF Speed and Vault speed, this means the duration would need to be set back to normal too but it won't matter because we ALWAYS needed the Duration add-ons but for different reasons. So now we have the normal fast Legion who is still exactly the same because the Deep Wounds effect was nerfed meaning no moon walking and lots of counter-play except now Legion is no longer crippled by their speed.

MY REWORK(getting way out of the box for fun)---Legion starts with NO TR and does not wear a mask. This allows them to get close to Survivors and then activate their 1 time use Legion ability that puts on their mask and takes out their weapon. From here Legion has the normal FF but NO DEEP WOUNDS, the first hit wounds them but hitting them again does nothing without add-ons and still cannot activate NOED(of course). After you hit a Survivor you see the Auras of Survivors in your TR, Legion can still Vault windows and pallets.

The difference now is that Legion can go into a locker and come out of another locker as another member who has not put on their mask yet, meaning they have no TR or weapon until they activate Legion. Add-ons for FF are applied on INJURED Survivors, you can apply DW, Broken, Mangled/Hemorrhage(because it should be like this) or even slower action speed.

The whole point of this Legion is that they already have a natural ability to get everyone injured but since the add-ons only effect injured Survivors builds would consist of anti-healing with Coulro, Sloppy Butcher etc. M&A is still useful once you activate Legion AND since Legion can see Auras this means that their perk Iron Maiden is actually good on them in particular, shocking right? Survivors would hide in lockers to avoid you and when they exit we can see them scream. I still think that perk is ######### but at least it would have synergy with it's owner and get lots of use from Legion.

Other play-styles with Legion would be Endgame builds, what if you only activate 3 of the 4 members and when the Exits open you become number 4 and have no TR or weapon giving NOED a 1 time extreme boost of power. Also, I know that Joey and Susie need to be bought so base Legion has only Frank and Julie who can obviously use this ability more than once since it's a 4 usage thing in total with a 1 time use for each member. If you only have the base Legion then you still get all 4 but with only those 2.

That sounds like a really fun to play legion actually

In the mid season patch notes they said"The following changes allow for direct Survivor counter-play, reduce the potential for exploiting certain game mechanics, and bring The Legion’s default attributes in-line with other Killers, all while retaining the core vision of this Killer." They wanted to put legion more in line with other killers from what I seen in the patch notes. But they overdid it as they are probably one of the weakest killers.

Heres the link to the patch notes if you wanna read them.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/57702/the-legion-update/p1?new=1

That seems dumb to bring him in line with other killers. Wasn't he originally introduced to shake up the meta a little bit? I swear I either read that somewhere or I'm just insane. I can see why people are afraid of them overnerfing nurse though after "balancing" Legion. Thanks for linking the patch notes though I'll check them out

Legion was hella unfun to play against since they didnt have no counter play also they had a bunch of exploits like moonwalking, infinite mending and etc. But franks mixtap made them even more annoying to deal with, so I feel like they could have just fixed the exploits and changed franks mix tap so legion could've been in a much more healther spot.

That's what I seem to see everyone else saying. Did the devs give a reasoning for nerfing him so badly or was it just out of the blue and no discussion?

  • @BeHasU said:

Everyone said that the legion is so annoying to play against bcs of the moonwalk exploit, BHVR, instead of a slightly rework, they gutted him... They should have just made the Legion unable to see blood and problem solved..

I want back the old vaulting speed, the ability of stabbing the same guy with FF and actually to do something

I unfortunately never got to play as or against old Legion. When he came out and before his rework I was taking a break from DBD so I don't really know what it was like compared to current Legion

  • My recommended build would be:

BBQ/discordance (I run both, I'll explain why later)

Ruin/PGTW (honestly this comes down to personal preference and the type of games you've been getting)

Monitor and Abuse (Get closer to survivors before they notice and get chain hits you potentially would've missed before)

Now this slot is where things open up and you have more variation imo. This is where I put discordance because I feel like this killer has the best use of his kit as a defensive killer because of the pressure and threat you can put on multiple survivors at once. I generally have discordance activate on average 2 or 3 times a game and that combined with monitor and abuse nets you easy chain hits, and on top of that if you run PGTW you now know which gen the survivors are focusing

Other options for this perk slot could be:

Sloppy butcher (only if against low rank survs who constantly heal against you)

Bloodhound (works as the opposite of sloppy butcher and makes it easier to track survivors who don't full heal)

Nurses calling (I generally would only run this if you are trying for hooks and tunnel kills instead of applying pressure through deep wounds)

Now the ONLY time I would consider running Thana is if you don't have any of the other perks mentioned above. It would be a great perk for Legion if the numbers on it weren't so bad

Also I wouldn't recommend any expose perks as they don't work with FF and if you want to use said expose perks you have to chase as an m1 killer without a power. I feel the 4 second stun/fatigue time after FF ends negates the mobility gained from it to catch up to a survivor

This is all my opinion and my opinion is subject to change feel free to discuss or debate with me if you have a different idea, always happy to debate and theorycraft about Legion

Sorry for the long post I have a tendency to ramble lol

  • @Carlosylu said:

    I'd do this one:

BBQ: He's a fast killer, you'll feel awesome when getting someone quite fast after every hook.

NOED: Fast and Vault + NOED = Doom

Nurses Calling: Just to keep them bleeding

Huntress Lullaby: Lets you know where they are and make them keep making mistakes.

Expose perks don't work very well with him as you can't down during FF meaning you have to play without a power after gens are completed if you want to get the 1 hit. Here's what I recommend:

BBQ: information and keeping up pressure after a hook

Ruin/PGTW personal preference here for stall and anti gen rush

Discordance: more information on gens as you want to play the current legion as more of a defensive killer (can be swapped with something else if you don't get much use out of it, I tend to have it proc at least twice every game, also your saving grace for an information perk if you don't have BBQ teachable)

Monitor and Abuse, allows you to get closer to survivors before tipping them off, increasing the chance of being able to quickly proc killers instinct and get a chain hit (assuming you found them with discordance or just found them being overly altruistic)

I'm personally not a fan of Thana. It would be a great perk for legion if the numbers weren't just awful. I barely notice it making an impact when playing killer and survivor

If you tend to be m1-ing alot you can swap in spirit fury + enduring. The perks you take out depends on how your games are going, but I would probably say swapping out discordance and Monitor and Abuse is a pretty safe bet

Sorry for the long post, and for the quote even though only the first part pertains to your comment @Carlosylu I have a tendency to ramble 😂

But @Predator3174PL this is my recommendation

I guess my friends can’t play with me since I am lower rank 😒. What terrible exploiters! I’m flirting with 5k hours and rank 16/17 survivor since I haven’t played much this year.

Guess I can’t play the game since I have way more time than the killers I would go against 😭😭

Not at all. Your friends can still play with you. Just have them make the lobby so you go up against killers their skill level. Problem solved

  • @TheHourMan said:

I don't "main" any killer, but I thoroughly enjoy Legion. I run Bloodhound, Sloppy Butcher, Discordance, and Surveillance. I try to keep everyone injured and then follow their blood trails when they run from gens and down them as quickly as possible. If they run to a particularly good loop I will usually just abandon the chase and find someone else, or circle around and approach the generator again from the side that has the good loop, which usually gets them to run toward me for a sec and then turn around.

Wouldn't a stall perk like ruin or PGTW be better than bloodhound? Or do you have enough stall already with everyone needing to mend?

  • @Carlosylu said:

I used to main him, but now he's slower than The Clown and Freddy and his hability to run feels slower too so...

I'd tell you to try the new Freddy, The Clown and the Huntress if you're looking for fun. Getting someone with Freddy's blood pallets feel amazing, playing mindgames with the clown's gas to make them go where you want them to is pure strategy gameplay and the Huntress axe throw from far away is satisfying AH.

Not sure about clown, definitely have played huntress a bit and right now sits at my 3rd main. Waiting a bit longer on Freddy just to see what the devs do with him

  • @ASpazNamedSteve said:

Personally I enjoy him quite a bit, though I'm not 100% sure why lol.

I think quickly moving around, vaulting windows + pallets like a survivor, and spreading damage around is pretty fun.

  • @prayer_survivor said:

I hope they give her a small nerf, something like the nerf for MoM. Could be like: during 10 sec. after blink if she hit you, you don't get injured, only get the deep wound status :)

Then nurse is unable to even put anyone into the dying state because she's slower than survivors, and even if you make her a 110 or a 115 killer she just becomes a harder to play legion
